A Slice of Life Minecraft Fic

Summary:

A small character introduction to a (possible) series

Work Text:

Pixel sighed, ear twitching as he sat up in bed, waves lapping at the edges of his fishing deck. There was the sound of one of his neighbors shouting at the other, wonderful. He got up and grabbed his equipment and stepped outside.

“I’m tellin’ ya, Martini, someone stole our stuff!”

Oh. It was the Ender Duo, at least, as he had dubbed them. He walked across the dock as his other neighbor, Poggy, leaned against the dock and watched the two of them fight. “Hey, dude.”

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t Pixel!” He said, perking up. “Judging from the clouds in the sky, I’d say it’s gonna rain today!”

“You hear that, you two?” The Feline called to the two Endarians. “You’ll have to go mining or something later, it’s gonna rain.”

Keeboy yelped and scrambled inside of his and Martini’s shared house, while the latter stifled a laugh that immediately dispersed as a drop of rain landed on his skin. They hissed and also ran back inside, and Poggy got out of the water and immediately began work on an above-ground base they were building. Pixel soon left and headed to the large, still unfinished cobblestone structure affectionately dubbed the “Whore Home”, upon the request of Mars saying “It’s not a Whore House, it’s a Whore Home!”

A smile tugged at his lips and his whiskers twitched. He angled his ears up as he heard a call from a tower on the hill above the community home. “Hey Pix!” The Elytrian called, making an attempt to fly down but crashing into the wall beside him.

Pixel snickered as the Penguin-Elytrian shook their head comically to regain their focus. “How have things been?”

“It’s been good, Pen. You ask that every time I come to visit.”

Pen snorted and laid back on the grass, staring at the Endercat upside-down. “I know, but it still applies, dude!” They giggled, turning over. “Besides, it’s been a few days and Mars misses you!”

“Speak of the Devil and they shall appear,” A voice beside them said. “Let’s move this to the shade, guys, I can’t stay invisible this long.”

The three of them went down to Mars’s bunker, the TV Head Phantom unlocking the door and letting them in. “It’s been a while since I’ve been down here,” Pixel chuckled, looking around at all the impressive redstone in the cave. “Glad you managed to set up a garden, seems efficient.”

Mars nodded, rambling on about how each of the contraptions worked. In all fairness, Pixel wasn’t exactly listening, but he was glad his friend was so happy with how it turned out.

It was around noon when he left to go to his sister’s house, but he was stopped by a Shulk. “Hey, Thibo. What’s up?”

Thibo looked decently excited, brushing his black fluffy hair out of his face. “Hey Pixel! I just wanted to say hi, how’ve you been?” He asked, glancing back to his water elevator.

“Pretty good, I’d take it Cosmos is working on stuff underground?”

“Yessir!” Thibo grinned widely. “I’ll let him know you stopped by!”

He nodded with a smile and they parted ways, and the cat decided to start heading to his sister’s house, finally. It didn’t take him too long to get there, ending up in a Plains biome. There, a shulk was leading sheep into a pen before leaving once more. She looked up and waved, looking a little surprised. “Hey, Pix. What’s good?” She asked, leaning against her house.

Pixel grinned, tail waving. “Hey, Jolyne!” He purred, looking around the small area her house was in. “What’s new with you?”

Jolyne smirked and let out a small ‘heh’ at his antics. “Just working on getting my animal pens up and running, then I’ll probably start expanding my house a bit more.”

Pixel had climbed on her roof at some point during the conversation. “So basically what you’re saying is, everything’s gonna get so much cooler around here?”

“Depends on how you define ‘cool’, but yeah.”
