Roller Skating Stevonnie (And The Sadie Who Loved Them)

Summary:

Stevonnie and Sadie go on a date at the roller rink.

Work Text:

“I haven’t roller skated in years,” Sadie said, nervously.

“Neither have I,” Stevonnie admitted. It had been a good 10 years since that night at the roller rink with Steven and Connie, and since then Stevonnie had taken on a life of their own. Their own interests, their own relationships, their own identity! They unfused sometimes, but only when Steven and Connie needed their time apart.

And when they were fused… Well, Stevonnie had taken a liking to Sadie, and Sadie to Stevonnie (Shep unfortunately didn’t work out, but they parted on mutual terms).

Despite it being a while since Stevonnie’s last time skating, Stevonnie felt a cool, calm confidence within them as they stepped onto the rink. This contrasted against Sadie’s awkward waddling, making Stevonnie smile with reassurance.

“Don’t be scared, I’m right here with you,” Stevonnie nodded.

“You said you haven’t done this in years?” Sadie asked, suspicious.

Stevonnie shrugged. “I dunno, I guess I just know how to do anything I put my mind to.”

“Must be nice,” Sadie chuckled nervously, as she made her way onto the rink. She looked like she was about to fall, so Stevonnie reached for her arm and held her steady. Sadie’s face went red from the touch. Sour Cream put on a slow, romantic song, and Stevonnie quickly winked in his direction.

“Sadie, there’s… A lot I wanna tell you.”

“Heh, me too,” Sadie said, resting her head on Stevonnie’s arm as they slowly glided across the rink.

“Oh really?” Stevonnie remarked, blushing as well. “What is—”

“I love you!” Sadie blurted out.

After an awkward silence (and a badly-timed record scratch from Sour Cream), Stevonnie let out a relieved laugh. “I love you too!” they cried out, pulling Sadie into a hug.

Sadie was now cradled in Stevonnie’s arms, time seeming to stop around the two. Their faces grew closer, until their lips touched, and the pair was suddenly kissing.

“You’re a good kisser,” Sadie remarked.

“Well, I am a romantic relationship, I better be a good kisser,” Stevonnie said with a chuckle.

The couple held hands and skated around the rink for the rest of the night.
