One Summer day, footsteps of a sharp-eyed student can be heard as he ran across the school's corridor. Dashing from one corner to another, the sharp-eyed student interacted with each schoolmate he passes with glee in his tone. As he saw his class section's door, his pace hastened. As he slid the door open, he immediately pounced towards his two best friends, tackling them in the process.
"You idiot, what do you think you're doing!" Shouted a man with black hair and a feminine face that wore glasses He was livid towards the person lying on top of him.
"Hehehe sorry about that." Subaru, the person lying on top of them said. Subaru is their section's second honor, the person who is above him in grades is now under him...literally. "Wanna go to a convenience store? ...You guys haven't eaten lunch right?" He asked nonchalantly.
"Yeah sure why not. But it's your treat. I'm broke, while four eyes here won't waste money on food. You got that?" The second man being pressed on the floor said. The man appears to have similar features to Subaru the only thing differentiating them is the slightly grey hair color and the black softer eyes, contrasting Subaru's black hair and hazel sharp eyes. He is actually an exchange student all the way from Germany.
"Sure Sure. Well then, Let's Go!" Subaru shouted as he lead the group outside of school to get something to eat in the nearest convenience store. Subaru marched towards the store, his look-alike carried something heavy, while Mr. Smartypants is being carried by Subaru's look-alike.
After a few minutes of walking under the scorching sun, the students finally saw the convenience store in all of its glory. Their eyes began to water seeing such a magnificent sight.
"Finally we made it, I'm melting from the sun let's hurry." The first honor student said, commanding the brute who was carrying him to put him down.
"Well then let's go inside, Flugel. Hoshin." Subaru said as the group immediately entered the convenience store. Feeling the air conditioning inside the store, the boys cried for their infernal torture has come to an end. The blazing heat they endured was all worth it as they now enjoyed the cold air while they picked foods to eat.
In their search for food Subaru noticed a manga display at the very front of the store. In closer inspection, the only genre Subaru saw was Isekai. Losing the curiosity he had before, he then continued searching for food to eat.
After finishing picking and buying foods from the store, the group now plans on going back to school before they're late. But something confusing occurred. As the automated doors of the convenience store opened and closed what they saw before them is not the streets they once walked, but a thick forest with no end in sight.
"Eh...what...WHAT!" The trio exclaimed. Flabbergasted by their current predicament, Flugel began running while screaming at the top of his lungs, Hoshin's brain began denying their circumstance, while Subaru silently thought about the possibility of all of this really happening.
"Yow Flugel, stop shouting and get yourself together." Hoshin said trying his best in calming down Flugel. Flugel decided to ignore Hoshin's statement, as he continued shouting while distressfully eating the pork bun he ordered. "This could either be a prank, a kidnapping, or something much more bizarre" Hoshin said.
"Hmm hmm" Subaru hummed as he nod his head affirming Hoshin's statement. "But before any of that let's check what we all have. Hoshin has a bag full of books, I have a bag filled with food we just bought, while Flugel didn't bring a bag. If we ration carefully, our food could last as a few days. Now first wait a second... Where's my bag?"
"It's over here" Flugel said as he finished eating the contents of Subaru's bag. "What stop looking at me that way I was stressed okay!" Flugel tried to reason what he did but all he recieved is a deadpanned from both Subaru and Hoshin.
"Nice... We're dead." Hoshin said as he started silently sobbing to their misfortune.
"What if I hunt a rabbit or something?" Subaru asked. "We don't know the exact biodiversity of this forest, I'd rather you not hunt an animal for now." Hoshin answered
"Wait I can go and find us some berries, won't that help?" Flugel suggested. Subaru and Hoshin both thought that it was a very well thought plan.
"Yosh, I'll be going then. Subaru I'll be taking your bag if you don't mind."
"Yeah sure why not."
Flugel then went to search for any berries in the forest, leaving Hoshin and Subaru alone. Hoshin and Subaru then talked about the absurdity of their current predicament. The way it occurred was extremely improbable to say the least. One moment, they were leaving the convenience store the next they find themselves in a thick forest with the same things they held.
"Could we be kidnapped?" Subaru asked. "Nope, human tracks should be here if we were, and why would kidnappers still let us have our stuff?" Hoshin answered. "Hmm... I see. Then what if it was an elaborate prank?" Subaru continued asking. "Nah, highly unlikely. The forest is too realistic and nobody would go to these lengths just for a prank."
"Then I have one last guess...but it's extremely out if this world"
"Really what is it?"
"What if we're isekaid?"
"Bffttt, HAHAHAHA" Hoshin burst out laughing from Subaru's earlier suggestion. Isekai, that's absurd, everyone knows Isekai is just pure fictional.
"HAHA, I guess it really is absurd." Subaru said chuckling to himself as he saw the humor in his suggestion. As Hoshin and Subaru's conversation ended, Flugel returned carrying Subaru's bag which was filled with bright red berries. When Flugel reached where the two were standing, he swiftly sat down and gobbled on the bag's contents.
But as Hoshin walked closer towards the berries Flugel started eating, he paled. The berries Flugel picked and is now chowing down on is a poisonous berry, called Cotoneasters. During Hoshin's free time he excessively read books about Mathematics, Biology, Physics, and History which is the reason he earned the highest honor in their section.
"Hey Flugel, just a question how many berries have you eaten?" Hoshin asked. Cotoneaster is a berry which is poisonous in high amounts. Eating only a few berries, won't show the side effects physically.
"Hmm, about 18"
With one sentence, the color from Hoshin's face disappeared. He immediately slapped Flugel's hand, prompting Flugel to drop a few berries.
"Hey what was that for?" Argued Flugel. Hoshin without answering Flugel's question, immediately grabbed Subaru's bag and threw away its contents.
Confused and hungry, Subaru could only watch from a distance as drama happens between his friends. He silently sat on a pile of grass
"Flugel, spit that out you just ate poisonous berries."
Flugel after hearing Hoshin's statement immediately spat all the berries inside his mouth. Hoshin seeing all of this unfold before him simply sighed. Subaru on the other hand, was enjoying the scene.
"HAHAHA *wheezes* HAHA *wheezes*" Subaru laughed out loud wheezing along in short bursts, at his friends idiocy. After a while laughing he suddenly felt an itch coming from his rear end.
"Subaru...you do know your sitting on poison ivies right" Hoshin said with a deadpan look as he stared at his two friends' misfortune. "Huh. I'm surrounded by idiots" Hoshin thought.
"It's getting dark soon." Flugel said while wiping his tongue to remove remnants of the poisonous berries.
"I can make a fire but thats the best I can do since it's getting late." Subaru said. Camping with his father gave Subaru skills in living outdoors. Like starting fires, hunting, and even cooking.
"Bro that's enough we'll just sleep on the ground tonight and try find an exit to this forest tomorrow." Flugel said as he yawned in exhaustion.
As the fire was now burning, the trio huddle around one another as they slept.
"AHHHHH!" Subaru and Flugel were abruptly awoken by Hoshin's scream.
"What happened?" The duo said in unison. Hoshin's face was filled with fear as he aggressively pointed to the pack of rabid dogs in front of them.
"What the heck, why are there rabid dogs?" Asked Subaru as he searched for a way out of this situation.
"They're rabid Grey wolves to be precise. Wolves who hunts in packs to outnumber their opponents."
Subaru swiftly scanned the area in search of any solutions. His eyes focused on two branches of dense nature. In the hands of Subaru, these branches will not amount to anything, but in the hands of a martial arts expert like Flugel, these branches can be the difference between life and death.
Subaru dashed towards the branches, gaining the wolves' attention. As Subaru finally grabbed the branches he immediately through it towards Flugel.
"FLUGEL CATCH!!!" Subaru shouted, signaling Flugel to use the branches to fight of the pack of wolves.
When Flugel caught the branches he immediately assumed a defensive stance. As three wolves were about to lunge an attack to Subaru, one branch blocked their advance while the other swept them to increase the wolve's distance from them. These attacks continued for about a few minutes.
As the wolves' numbers increase, Flugel is slowly getting tired. In Flugel's current status he'll last for only another three minutes.
"GOA!"
Then just as all hope was lost, a screen of fire burned the pack of wolves to crisp, leaving the trio shocked beyond words.
"Are you alright?" Asked the man who casted the screen of fire moments prior. As the man came closer he noticed the trio's attire. "It appears to be made up of expensive linen and it has a crest on the side of the chest. Are these kids...royals?" The man thought to himself.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Vladimir, Vladimir Vollachia son of the Vollachian Emperor. But you can call me Vlad if you'd like." Vlad said with great pride.
"I told you we were isekai'd" Subaru whispered to Hoshin's ears.
"Oh shut up" Hoshin whispered back.
"Now then I would like to ask for all of you to join me in my carriage as you introduce yourselves." Vlad said.
