Unknown, But Already In Control

Summary:

In the town of Aque, many things were done in secret. There were many truths underneath the lies that were told. The darkness lurked even under the sunshine. Some called it the “Secret Dystopia”. All of these were mostly rumors but there was one thing for sure:

There was something unknown, that was already in control.

Notes:

I really can't belieave that this AU came from the electro-swing remix of "it's 2 bajs".

Anyways, enjoy the story.

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

As the sun came down the man heard his door ringing three times, meaning that he got a letter. He put the papers back in their numeral orders, the title page now visible. It read “Why Would We Benefit From Social Ownership” written with a neat handwriting, the man clearly a master penman even in this era. Where handwriting is slowly dying.

He took the light blue envelope from the mailbox, reading the address it came from: The Main Government Office, Capital City. Opening the envelope he took out the paper, the sound of paper making him nervous about what he was about to read. He let go of his breath as he finished reading the paper. He was transferring to Aque Town as the main director of the Town Theater. The biggest and most popular theater of the land.

The man was walking down the street with a bouquet in his hand when he saw that his mailbox in the central box office had an envelope inside. He opened the small box, revealing the light blue envelope in it. Taking out the envelope he returned back to his route, opening and reading the letter as he walked down the city.

“The Aque Town Bank... next to the man that killed my brother...” he mumbled under his breath as he creased the paper in his hand. “Well, orders from above are orders from above.”

The man checked his suit to make sure it was clean before entering the governor's office. He left the papers on the desk and quickly left the room walking down the giant building’s corridors. He tried to escape all the eyes gazing at him. Condemning him.

After he left the building, he walked down a few streets. Stopping near a big wood looking tower with many windows on it. He looked around for a moment, entering the dark alleyway.

The light blue envelopes were on the governor's desk, ready to be sent to the Capital. He quickly looked at the new papers on his desk, stopping when his phone rang. He opened it, a close friend on the other side. “Yeah. I was just taking a look at the papers.”

“I already realised one of them was the valuable one. I’ll be extra careful when it comes to treating him.”

As the moon shined upon the roofs of the buildings the man left his current hideout. He put on a hat, blending into the crowd easily as he looked for a new hideout to move into. He suddenly stopped near an alleyway. Debating whether to enter or not in his head for a moment. In the end, he went down the way, getting lost in the shadows.

He stopped in front of the bounty board, with an illegal newspaper from the underground under his arm. He looked at the top of the board, to the man with mismatched eyes. He took one of the extra posters of the man taking a closer look at the bounty. “Well. I’m worth more than that.”

In his office overlooking the city the man sat in his big chair. He was having his dinner. He had ordered one from the best diners out there. Paying all the money needed for it.

As he poured his drink in his glass he set aside his food and got up from the desk, walking to the big window in his office. He looked down at the city, raising his glass. “To the corporation's success.” His voice echoed in the empty room, making it sound as many people had said it.
