Master Control
Chapter 44
Being a detective had its hardships. You had to look into the minds of the worst of humanity, trying to predict their next move. Having a lie detector for a quirk only made it harder to see the brighter side of people. The worst thing he had to do, was talk to the families of the victim. He had to be empathetic, otherwise he felt like an asshole as he revealed horrific news.
Telling those that were close to himself though, was the toughest experiences he had in his life. He'd gladly spend time with All Might to try and track down All for One.
"How soon will he be back home?" Inko asked, Naomasa double checked his phone that had the specially designed badge on the back of it. The alien created device inputted the data straight to his screen.
"He's pulling up to the apartment." He answered, looking up towards the mother and her two children beside on the couch.
Eri definitely seemed down, while Himiko was doing her best to seem indifferent to the news.
"So Pony is really moving away?" Eri wiped her face, the detective nodding in reply.
"Her mother wants her back home in America. There isn't much we can do to stop them."
"Nope." Himiko popped her lips. "That's just how things are."
Inko reminded the shapeshifter of her presence with a hand on her leg. "Try to be a little more sensitive, Izuku-"
"Has always, and continues to get involved in shit." Himiko rudely cut her off as she rolled her eyes.
"He saved her life." Eri countered with a bitter taste in her mouth.
"That's always the excuse. It's getting old." Himiko crossed her legs, moving it away from her mother's touch.
"We all agree we don't like when the people we love are in danger." Inko tried to reason with the stubborn teen.
"Also." Naomasa began to add. "He has gotten more familiar with the omnitrix, and was even given permission by a pro hero to-"
"That's what bothers me most." Rolling backwards over the couch, Himiko recollected herself to stand behind it. "The fact that my brother, who isn't even a hero student, was permitted to pick up the slack of other heroes. They attacked him on site even when a villain was laying bloodied right in front of them, they used lethal force when he only caused some property damage, they couldn't do anything when they attacked USJ forcing him to throw himself into the center of it, and now they're pushing him to the front lines! I can't believe so many of my friends are becoming heroes if that's what they do."
"Heroes aren't perfect." Eri spat back.
"I'm not asking them to be perfect!" Himiko yelled at her sister. "I'm just expecting them to do their damn job and not use my brother as a convenient target! Now Pony's crippled and there's not a damn thing we can do about it without everyone being on our asses!"
"You're over simplifying things." Naomasa attempted to warn her.
"The fact that it can be simplified to that shows it's bad enough!"
"Himiko!" Inko stood up, the girl already storming back to her room and slamming the door. Collapsing back in the couch, the woman just laid her head in her hands. Seeing her distress, Naomasa went over to fill the empty spot by her side and ran his fingernails across her back.
"Just give her time, this is going to be hard on everyone."
*click*
The front door unlocked, Izuku stepping in with Cueball right behind him.
"Oh Izuku." His mother immediately went to her first child, the one she brought into the world and tightly hugged him like he was about to fall over. "I'm so sorry."
He briefly let out a small hum of acknowledgement, giving her a quick hug back. "Where are the kids?"
"Asleep." Inko assured, but after the yelling she wasn't so sure herself anymore. "Take a shower, get some rest. If they wake up I'll look after the-"
She stopped, realizing that there was another guest in their home.
"I know." Cueball quickly put her worries aside. "Well, I know very little, but I knew about that. Barely."
"I'll catch you up." Naomasa gestured to outside, the heroine backing away to let Inko walk with Izuku further into the home. "Izuku."
The boy paused, turning his head to the side to listen to what the man had to say.
"How much do you want me to share?"
"...Everything."
That was a leap, and Naomasa didn't know the woman that well but she was regarded as a good informant. "Even-"
"Yes." Izuku stated as clear as he could, his quirk knowing it was no lie. "Everything."
"By the looks of it this is going to take a while." Cueball followed the man with her eyes until he was leading them away.
"You have no idea." The detective sighed before the door closed behind him.
Mindlessly letting his feet take him towards his room, Izuku stopped when he saw Eri watching him from the couch. He opened his arms up, the girl rushing into them. He held her, providing comfort to her and himself.
"Are you doing ok?"
"Are you?"
Of course neither of them were happy about this. Izuku pulled away and brushed through her green dyed hair, his fingers stopping short of her horn. It was another reminder of the frustration of what could be done but shouldn't.
Pulling out of the hug, Izuku softly stepped towards the door to the freezing room and cracked it open, meeting some resistance. He saw his kids yank their heads away from the door as they quickly phased into their nest and dogpiled together, letting out incredibly loud snoring.
"Did.." Eri seemed to notice it too. "Were they listening to us?"
"Shhh." Izuku shushed her quietly as he slowly closed the door to let his children believe they were sneaky.
So far, he had updated the police force on Hosu, managing to keep their focus on locating the League of Villains instead of looking into the authorized unidentified civilian. He had to lie to Pony's parents about the event, having a private conversation with the girl about her perspective and what details she could share. It was pretty much everything besides revealing that she summoned Izuku and that Izuku was there. Then he had a brief conversation with Izuku, learning about Cueball and getting anything he wasn't present for from her. After a heart clenching session of telling his own mother about another incident and how to proceed, he had gotten through half of his list of people he needed to talk to.
"So that's all I have to share about the Hosu investigation." The detective put down his notes on the coffee table in Nezu's office. Gran Torino, the Principal himself, and Toshinori Yagi who seemed focused on a photo of one of the nomu.
"Do you think All for One found the creator?" All Might proposed as he could see the similarities between the crystalized nomu and the recent changes to one of their students. "These nomu, they are certainly different from the one designed to fight me."
"You believe that they are working together now?" Gran Torino questioned, wondering if he should come out of retirement or not for this.
"I think that's where this man comes in." All Might held up another photo, one of Swampfire battling a nomu. "It's possible that All for One made a move and got a hold of some of his research or technology, so the creator of young Midoriya's PQE is using his own resources to fight back."
"Interesting theory." Nezu held his cup up to give the hero credit for thinking. He then turned towards Naomasa, dragging out the time it took to sip his drink. "As a detective close to this case, what do you think?"
Naomasa was aware Nezu was getting himself involved deeper than he announced. That call he had with Kirishima made it clear to the detective that Nezu was acting on his own, and was right on top of them. The detective couldn't confirm how much the Principal knew, but giving him any ounce of admission with this mystery agent involved was likely to end with Izuku being handled under their direction.
He couldn't risk that.
"It's a good theory based on the information we have here." The detective replied, doing his best to seem just as he normally did. "All Might, you've been spending lots of time lately trying to track down All for One. Anything stick out yet?"
"Not yet." The wilted blond reported. "But I have to take care of this, before my time runs out. While I'm sure young Kendo will become a greater hero than I, she is still vulnerable and All for One will act before she grows too powerful."
"You've also been neglecting your duties as a teacher." Nezu reminded the number one hero. "Finals are coming up, and I hope you could spend more time with your classes to make sure they are prepared."
"Speaking of which." The man seemed to deflate more than he already was. "I know this sounds incredibly neglectful of young Tsutonori's, but if she will not be participating in the final exam for heroics, then could we have Itsuka tested alone?"
"You're being too obvious!" The oldest of them smacked All Might's leg with a cane. "Everyone will know that she's your pupil if you test her one on one!"
"It doesn't have to be me!" All Might quickly raised his hands in defense. "It could be anyone! Really! But I can't imagine who would be able to properly test her. Her growth in regards to using her own quirk has already gone beyond what I ever saw in her."
"Hmmm." Nezu hummed briefly over it, sliding out a file he had put to the side for a while. "Perhaps whoever should face her would be in need of an upgrade."
*Crack*
"I thought this was supposed to be a top secret meeting." Eraserhead backed away from the pool table with his stick.
"Oh come on!" Cueball strolled around it, placing her stick over her back and making the shot. The white ball hit three striped ones, all going into their own holes. "This is so much better than a cold room to be all serious in. Besides, I haven't played against either of you yet."
"Are you sure this is secure?" Now later in the day, the detective had to take care of other business, letting this woman in on the secret. He had done his best to do a background check, but this woman had a wild youth of running away from home on several occasions. They couldn't meet at the school anymore, Nezu's close encounter with one of their own proving they needed something new.
So Cueball had volunteered the doors to her own agency.
In closing hours, after assuring Thin Man he could go home early and how she would clean up they finally had an establishment to themselves.
"Why don't you ask this?" Cueball placed her personal eight ball along the trim of the table. "That should be enough for you."
Izuku really trusted her? When Cueball was lining up for another shot using her foot, Naomasa spared a glance towards her coworker.
"Yeah, I know." The walking mummy wasn't a fan of this either. "But if she got a job at UA then Nezu trusts her ability to keep UA secure and not spill anything she should be able to keep this under wraps."
*CRACK*
"Nailed it!" Cueball, in two moves had finished the game. She then went into a short personal victory dance, making Eraserhead doubt Nezu's judgement.
"I hope." The underground hero mumbled.
"Oh come on!" Cueball began emptying the pockets in the table, placing the balls in the plastic triangle. "If either of you paid attention to this place then you'd know there's a reason so many heroes and sidekicks come here. We have a reputation of keeping what they spill a secret when they get too tipsy. You should know Aizawa, I kept your secret."
"What?" The detective looked over to the petrified mummy, the man groaning as he ran his fabric fingers over his own face and stretching it out.
"You have a point. But Ms. Joke still won't let it go."
"Should I even ask?" The detective was curious, but wouldn't pry into the man's personal life.
"He's only going to make his own conclusions." Cueball finished cleaning up the game, holding out the white orb to the detective while smirking towards Eraserhead. "You might as well tell him."
"Fine. Only because you'll keep bugging me until I do." The underground hero gave up as Naomasa found a spot to break the array of multicolored balls.
"When I was drunk here after a drug raid, I asked Ms. Joke to marry me."
The pole slipped out of the detective's hand, Eraserhead extending a finger to catch it mid air. "Really?!"
"She turned me down and I got all weepy, and now she teases me about it anytime she gets."
"See." Cueball leaned on another adjacent pool table. "Now don't you feel better getting that off your chest?"
"No." Eraserhead handed the pool stick back to the detective, who was given another chance at breaking the collection of balls in the center.
"Cueball, how much has Izuku told you?"
"Not much, just that it would be explained to me and that he has kids. I do know he turned into what he called 'Swampfire' and assuming that supposed PQE of his lets him turn into other things then he was probably that villain Endeavor hates so much. He's actually considering taking a vacation after the HPSC told him he was to shut down his investigation."
"Where did you hear that?" Eraserhead immediately snapped, the woman slyly smiling in response.
"I hear everything that comes through these doors." Cueball spun her stick around, motioning for Eraserhead to take his turn. "So, since I'm UA staff I already know he can give and take quirks alongside splitting kids' DNA in half with a bunch of creatures that are supposedly made from quirks. Now I'm in the loop that he can turn into them. That's about as far as I was told."
"So it looks like you get the idea that Izuku can do a lot. Still, looks like we'll have to start at the beginning." Naomasa watched Eraserhead lazily take his shot, not even caring he scratched the ball.
"I have a feeling this will take a while." Cueball yoinked the ball from one of the pockets, placed it in the prime position, and proceeded to finish the game without giving the others a chance to increase their score. "I'm gonna grab some food Thin Man saved for us, then we'll get into everything."
Wake up, check on his kids, take a shower, eat some breakfast, refill his children's' solar flare food supply, double check their harnesses, brush teeth, attempt to comb hair, what was next?
*KNOCKKNOCKKNOCK* "Quit hogging the bathroom!" Himiko shouted from outside.
Setting the brush down, Izuku opened the door to let her slide past him. "Why do you need the bathroom?"
"That's private." Himiko pushed him out, slamming the door behind him.
"Hey Izuku." Eri came forward, holding a small envelope out to him. "Could you give this to Pony for me?"
"I don't think she'll be at school." Izuku answered before pressing down on the omnitrix. A brief flash of light overran his body, and then he split off into two of himself.
"I'll stop by the hospital to give it to her later when she's awake." The new Izuku answered, before the first instantly switched to his new summer uniform for school. Which was only a lack of a suit jacket and the sleeves being short.
"You don't have to go to school." Inko reminded the boy. "You're not in the hero course, and you did just have a close friend go to the hospital."
"I can't keep staying at home everytime something happens." The uniformed Izuku went to give her a brief hug before moving to the door. "Otherwise I would never leave. Are you ready yet Himiko?!"
"I'm coming!" She yelled back as she didn't open the bathroom door, but slid out from under it. "I've never been late before so stop worrying."
"My worrying is exactly why we manage to get there on time."
Walking to school, meeting up with Eijiro and Mina on their way, talking and just living in the present. Pony wasn't with them, a change in his life he never expected but had to accept. The only thing keeping him moving was knowing she was still alive, and he would get to see her today. Well, the other him and he would have memories of it.
It wasn't the same.
Staying under his desk while half asleep, Eraserhead was already preparing himself for the headache from the noise his students would make as he tried to catch a quick nap before the bell rang. He heard some hushed whispers, the door opening and closing, but no laughing or yelling.
It was harder to sleep than if they were noisier.
Once the bell had rung and class had begun, Eraserhead arose from the ground and unwrapped himself from his makeshift sleeping bag composed of his own wrappings. "Morning. I assume everyone here is aware of why there is a seat missing?"
Some nods, but no vocal answers. A couple faces seemed confused though, and that meant he had to give the news.
"During internships, Hosu was attacked by several nomu sent by the League of Villains. Some of you were present for that, including Pony Tsunotori. At the same time the hero killer Stain, who none of us were aware were in the area, was attempting to kill the hero Native. By chance, Ida came across the scene and intervened to save the man. Stain nearly killed both of them until Tsunotori herself stepped in to assist. During the fight, she was severely injured but was saved by a local citizen who was authorized by the hero Cueball. Stain is now arrested, and Tsunotori is currently in the hospital in stable condition. Unfortunately she lost one of her legs, and until it heals and she adapts to the use of a prosthetic she is unable to participate in hero course activities. She will be back in a couple of days, but she is not allowed to do anything more than observe and make notes. I was also given permission to announce to you that she will be taken back to her home in America by her mother before Final Exams."
Checking over the students, he saw some shocked faces but most everyone here seemed to really dwell on the incident. "This is the risk of becoming a hero, and some of you have faced it or seen it first hand. At UA we will prepare you for these to minimize the chances of you or others being hurt, but the risk will always exist."
"Sensei." Hagakure rose her hand, but all he saw was her sleeve tilt upwards. "Where's Izuku? He's normally here by now."
"Is he hurt?" Ojiro immediately asked. "He was with Cueball right, and she was there at Hosu."
"I was informed he is at the school." Eraserhead updated his class. "But, keep in mind his extra assignment had come to an end once internships began. While he has spent a lot of time in this class, he is still enrolled in the business course. I hope none of you have become dependent on him, otherwise you will find yourselves unable to keep up when you graduate."
Clicking a button for the white board, a calendar was displayed before them. "So to make sure you can make it without him, you aren't allowed to ask or accept his assistance until the final exams are over. If you feel you have special circumstances talk to me first."
This would do two things, force his students to buck up and handle it themselves and give Midoriya some more time to take care of other things or just relax. Hopefully having some time to clear his thoughts will help him realize he is not obligated to help everyone with everything.
The next time Izuku got to see his close friends was at lunch. He never would have imagined sitting at a packed table with people who actually cared about him just a year ago. It was full, even if it felt like it was missing so much. Despite the amazing food that the pro hero Lunch Rush prepared, it wasn't tasting as good as it should.
"Hey." Mina reached out to give a quick squeeze against his arm. "She's coming back in a couple of days right?"
"Yeah." Izuku braced himself with a smile towards her. "We'll get to see her all together soon."
"We could go visit her, together." Eijiro offered. "Unless we're not allowed."
"Maybe not in really big groups." Itsuka thought over it. "It might be a little overwhelming."
"We could take turns." Denki piped up. "Like, we split our class into four to five groups or something."
"Would the hospital even allow that?" Kyoka poked at her food.
"I can check." Izuku sent a quick message to one of his selves, only to get a 'let me check' in return. "I should hopefully get an answer within half an hour."
"If she's asleep." Reiko began to express her ability to help. "I could go over now and ask the staff."
"That's alright." Izuku tried to calm her loyalty down in a way that was casual. "Thank you for offering."
"Are 'get well soon' cards too tacky?" Ochaco asked. "Or is there something else we could do for her?"
"Maybe we could get one, and have the rest of the class sign it." Itsuka threw the idea out. "Or a small notebook where everyone has a page they can write a short message."
"That's a great idea." Izuku looked to his friends, ones he felt were more precious than ever. "Thank you guys."
Itsuka, sitting with them seemed to find herself relaxing in a way. At first, she was starting to question about questioning Izuku further about the device on his wrist just to confirm if it really was that omnitrix that her father was after. But, after recent events she couldn't bring herself to push the boy any further. He always lived up to the school moto of going 'plus ultra' in helping those around him. Now, as far as she could tell he was hit with his first obstacle in wanting to help but not being able to.
He needed help, Pony needed help, so she would be there for them as much as she could. It's not like the omnitrix was going anywhere right?
"I FOUND YOU!"
Izuku physically recoiled at hearing the voice of the devil. Hoping to not make any sudden movements to startle the predator, he slowly looked over to see the girl who always had a layer of grime and motor oil on her face. The only parts somewhat clean was the skin around her eyes where her goggles would rest.
Saying a short prayer in his heart, he watched as she began rushing towards him.
"I've been looking all over for you! But when Powerloader reminded me to eat, I realized that you were probably someone who ate food as well!"
"Hatsume!" A man called out, the pro hero Powerloader pointing straight towards the girl. "I told you to wash up before coming in here!"
"I'm sanitary!"
"Motor oil is not a sanitary substitute for washing your hands!"
"I thought you wanted me to come to the lunch room?!"
"I wanted you to eat but you're not here to do that are you?! I know why you're here and I know you got permission from your guardian but this is a matter that should be discussed in private!"
"Fine!" With the grip strength of an industrial grade clamp, Mei grasped under Izuku's arm. "You heard him! We got to find somewhere alone to discuss how you're gonna-"
"S-stop!" Izuku yelped before she could say something awful. "We can talk about this but now is not a good time!"
"I've already waited over a we-" The girl paused, her face going numb as her grip on Izuku relaxed.
Seeing an opportunity to escape, Izuku slipped out and went back to his table. Where a seat was currently unoccupied.
"What are you going to do?" Izuku asked towards Hatsume, who turned around with noticeable black cracks around her darkened eyes with the ghostly blue rings inside.
"Take her to Powerloader's class." Reiko's voice rasped from Hatsume's vocal cords. "Should I not?"
"I think you made a good choice." Izuku affirmed her actions without implementing his own command, trying to follow Hound Dog's advice as best he could.
There's always something on his list wasn't there?
"You good Himiko?" Mina noticed the more stiff behavior of the blonde, who was just using her finger to absorb the food directly instead of fake eating to fit in.
"I think I'm going to take a break from the mushy mushy stuff." Himiko slid out from her seat, finding some easy prey that was just a table away. "Besides, I need to check on something."
"Ok?" The pink skinned girl watched Himiko walk off, and immediately noticed her target. "Oh boy."
"Hey."
Shoto looked up from his food, almost choking at seeing a genderbent version of his father. The figure swirled in a tornado of purple mud before returning back to Himiko.
"Thought you would find that funny." Himiko sat across from him, making a spoon in her hand to scoop up some of his rice to eat. "Or at least, your reaction would be funny."
She waited for him to say something, to get some reaction or comment out of the boy. He wasn't ignoring her, but he definitely looked like he was struggling to find anything to respond with. Rolling her head around, she decided to be a little more direct.
"I noticed you were with your Dad on your internships. Don't you hate the guy?"
"Of course I do." He immediately responded on instinct, then calmed himself as he went through his reasonings. "Recently, I realized that I was far from being as strong of a hero as I could be. As much as I hate my father, he's still the number two hero and the best flame quirk user in history. If I'm going to actually use my fire, he's the best option I have for learning how to control it."
"Mhmmm." Himiko could see the reasoning, but she didn't fully believe it was his reasoning. "So you're gonna give your daddy what he wants?"
"He'll never get what he wants." Shoto quickly answered as if it was fact. "He wants me to surpass All Might and become the number one hero, but that will never happen."
"Why? Not to make you full of yourself but you are wickedly OP with just your ice. Now you're going all in with both and you honestly don't think you have a shot? So who do you think does?"
Seeing where his eyes flickered to, Himiko grew a pair on the back of her head and spotted Izuku.
"He's not planning on being a hero." Himiko had to remind the boy, wondering how the hell he thought Izuku would take the number one spot. "Secret watch, remember?"
"He looks past that whenever the situation is dire enough." Shoto pointed out. "And, there's more to him than meets the eye."
"...holy shit he kicked your ass didn't he?" Himiko pieced it together. "You were the one that messaged him."
Fearing how she interpreted this, he approached the topic softly. "He told you?"
"Our not dad is a detective who handles his extra secret cases, and he gave us some minor details but not who or what happened. So, which one did he use?"
"You're not mad?"
"I think you deserved it." Himiko admitted. "But I'm glad Izuku finally stuck up for himself so directly, and if that took you calling him out to do it then I think the karma around you is settled. Now, which one did he use?"
Reeling from the unexpected reaction, and her enthusiasm about how he was defeated, Shoto decided to engage with her on it. "He used a lot. Ones that could fly, a few that could use electricity, another that could freeze but it was like a reptile, but there was this tiger one that-"
"He used Rath?" She exclaimed quietly in restrained excitement. "I only saw that one briefly once when he was trying some out in the house, and oh man I wish I got it on camera! Izuku said he wasn't going to use that one in the house again after he accidentally made one of the blubies cry!"
"A what?"
Dodging the question and pestering Shoto about more details, the boy was incredibly compliant. He feared that if she ever heard of this, she would ban him from her streams. Life seemed to be getting better somehow. He wasn't holding himself back, his father had calmed down, he was scheduling a time to visit his mother with his sister, and now his favorite person was choosing to spend time with him.
Maybe everything would turn out alright.
Deep within a labyrinth of tunnels, an organization struggled to maintain its power. Promises of supply left broke, their hold on the local authority slipping, and loyalty was almost impossible to find.
"Boss." A rather small man in a black outfit with a simplistic white plague doctor mask covering his face, looked up towards a man he would serve with unyielding respect. "The guy is just outside, but he refuses to give us any details about what he knows. Only that it comes at a price, and that it's cheap for what value it has to us."
"Why wasn't he disposed Mimic?" Sitting in his chair, a simple man wearing black slacks and a button up shirt adjusted his dark green jacket with the white gloves covering his hands. The purple collar of feathers brushed around the edges of his elongated mask that covered his mouth and nose.
"We tried." The smaller one regrettably informed his superior. "His armor, Tabe couldn't eat it, Rappa couldn't break through it, and when I tried controlling it-"
Overhaul held up his hand to silence his minion. "Is he a hero?"
"No, we checked and there's no heroes like him. He also seemed familiar with our kind of work, and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty to find us."
"His quirk?"
"A mutant type, and whatever it is is the whole reason he's in that armor."
All Overhaul seemed to have was more questions than answers, so allowing Mimic to go fetch the newcomer the leader of the Shie Hassaikai prepared himself to make another possible mess. To find their location, not say a thing to heroes and come in alone, the man clearly had a goal in mind that wouldn't be satisfied by the law.
If the worst should come, that armor did sound like it was made of high enough quality materials to keep them afloat for a time. While they would always dominate the market in trigger, their investment they were making years ago put them at a loss at their asset being stolen.
If only his memory of that day was more clear, then he would erase the quirk of whoever set them back so far.
The clunky footsteps alerted Overhaul that their 'guest' was escorted inside by two of Overhaul's men. The armor covering the man was indeed bulky and large, making Overhaul believe it had even more material than he predicted. That heat though that leaked from his vents on the face, was worrisome.
"Greetings." The russian accent reverberated through the metal frame. "I understand we can help each other."
"How would you help us?" Overhaul demanded.
"I heard you were looking for someone." The man spoke.
Overhaul glanced over to one of his other underlings who stepped forward. He was dressed in all black, closely resembling an old plague doctor with a large cloak to hide his body. "Nemoto."
The man nodded, turning towards their guest. "Who are you talking about?"
"I wasn't talking to you." The russian spat, before returning his attention to the surprised Overhaul.
"In exchange, I want to be freed of this suit. You have a 'quirk' that can dismantle things, yes?"
"What will you do with the suit afterwards?" Overhaul leaned forward on his arms as he interlocked his fingers.
"I won't care for it. You can keep it if you wish."
As far as Overhaul could see, there was much more gain on their end than for this mystery man. His men had already been trying to look into his background, and if he was really stuck in this suit then he should have made some impact.
Nothing. No name, no identity, just him right here who wasn't affected by Nemoto's quirk. Overhaul didn't trust going blind into things.
"Depending on who you are referring to, we may be able to help." Overhaul had no intention of letting him leave alive, but he could at least get as much as he could before disposing of the man.
"There's a little girl I met recently." None could see the way their guest smiled upon seeing their reactions. "I take it she matters a lot, given all the chatter you made in the underground networks."
"Tell us everything." Overhaul stood up, already taking a glove off as he would get this information one way or another.
"I will, but you may not believe all of what I have to say."
"We'll listen." Overhaul promised that much.
"Good, but first, I want to see if your quirk really can open my suit. The more you open it, the more I talk."
While Overhaul was willing to torture the man to rip out all his secrets, he was being incredibly generous with his offer. As much as a risk this might be, the information was worth the mystery. He would have questions answered, a valuable metal to use, and he could finally realize his dream creating the quirk eliminating bullets.
And he would bleed Eri dry for the rest of her miserable life to do it.
Next chapter we'll do a little more slice of life, then get into the juice. I know this chapter came out slower than others, things are just getting a little more busy in my life and I was spending time focusing on my fiance. Speaking of, because there's a wedding just around the corner I might be taking a short break from writing. Up until mid February. I've also just bought my first gundam model that I really want to try out, some 3d printing projects I've put on the backburner, and I'm close to finishing Fallout 3 and Metro Exodus.
I've written a lot for this story recently, doing half a year's worth of chapters in just over a week. While I don't feel like I've burned out, I might take it a little slower to avoid that possibility. Thanks for reading so far! Hope you stick around because I definitely plan to finish this story before summer begins.
Teachers of UA, which ones will get spliced and with what aliens? Propose some ideas. The more the better. If it's the same as someone else's still write it down that way I see there's a lot of people that want the same thing.
List of Hybrids (In order of splicing):

Himiko Midoriya & Lenopan/Sludgepuppy
Kyoka Jiro & Sonorosian/Echo Echo
