Chapter Text
This was a really, really bad idea, and Izuku knew that, but he wasn't so sure if Shouto did. First of all, this was a very public party, and pictures were taken every moment, either of the heroes or of him and Shouto. He didn't really mind the pictures much, since he figured that the publicity came with now bring Shouto's boyfriend, but this… this was just stupid.
Endeavour had just finished his speech when Shouto raised his hand and waved it around. "I have something to say!" He exclaimed, and attention was immediately on him. Endeavour looked constipated, but nodded, signalling that he allowed it.
"First of all, the hero system is flawed and so is society. Second of all, you don't get to walk around here and say that you're proud of me for getting second place in the sports festival, when you made me train until I passed out the week after, and third of all, I got you this cake to signify how I feel about you." Shouto said, and then gestured over to Izuku, who sighed deeply, but still revealed the cake to the reporters.
Endeavour looked like he wanted to throw the cake in Shouto's face and choke him with it, to put it lightly. Izuku was pretty sure that he saw Shouto's brother Natsuo clapping, and suddenly Mirko was too, and then a few more people. Somebody threw a glass full of wine at Endeavour's back, and for some reason, Izuku had a hunch that it was Epilepsy Warning.
Izuku went over to take Shouto's hand, and began leading him away from the scene, though reporters followed them when they tried to leave, and we're asking a myriad of questions.
"What comments do you have on this?" "What is your relationship with Shouto Todoroki?" "Who even are you?" "Are you just friends or actual lovers?" "Did you bake the cake?" "Were you aware of Shouto's feelings about his father?"
Izuku glared at them, and continued leading Shouto out of the Todoroki house. Once they were outside, he took out his phone. "I'm calling my mom. You're staying over at my house tonight, alright?" He asked, and Shouto just nodded, as he let go of Izuku's hand, to use both while calling his mom.
Instead, he wrapped it around Izuku's waist peacefully, and just let him call his mom to tell her what happened, and ask her to come pick him up. Once he was done with that, Shouto leaned over to kiss his head for the second time that evening. "I'm sorry if I upset you by doing that. I just… I don't like him. At all. And I guess the adrenaline of finally standing up to him got a hold of me." He said quietly, though it was clear that he meant for Izuku to hear it.
Izuku smiled a little at the apology, which he would admit was very sweet, and he melted a bit at the tone that Shouto used while he spoke. "I'm not upset, Shou. I'm just… a bit worried about what'll happen once you have to go back in there to face him without a lot of people there." He said, and Shouto just have him a small squeeze.
"I'll be fine. I promise, alright? Also, I will document any training he forces me to do from now on, for the court case I'm planning against him in an effort to get emancipated. So he's going down." Shouto declared, and Izuku giggled, though soon noticed that his mom was pulling up. He led Shouto towards the car.
