Chapter Text

Roman was in love. 

Everyone knew that much. 

He made it very clear whenever he liked someone. 

He gets this special pep in his step, he acts much more excited than usual, and the most specific one is he, for some reason, gets really into baking. 

After Roman bounced into the cafeteria, singing some made up tune to himself, and handed everyone cupcakes he made for 3 days in a row,  it was safe to say all the boxes had been checked. He liked someone. 

The question was,who?

Patton had tried to ask him once, however, Roman automatically went defensive and denied he had any sort of feelings. Patton sighed, Roman was obvious, but  he would always deny that. He was stubborn like that.

Patton, Virgil, Logan, Janus, and Remus were later sitting togetting in Virgil’s room. Roman would join them later, but right now he is busy with some theatre things. 

It was Virgil’s room, so he got the privilege of siting on his bed. While everyone else either sat on the floor, a bean bag chair, or a pile of plushies on his floor. Except for Patton, who, due to best friend status, got to sit at the end of Virgil’s bed. Virgil was munching on one of the cupcakes Roman gave him at lunch that day. Red velvet and heart sprinkles. Roman was very obvious. 

Patton looked over at everyone, then at the cupcake Virgil had. He sighed. 

“So we all realize how Roman has been acting right?”

There was a chorus of “Mhm”, “Yeah” and “Duhs” throughout the group. 

“At least you all don’t have to live with that love-stuck idiot,” Remus complained “the whole house smells like cakes and sugar, it is sickening.” Remus stuck his tongue out at the thought. 

Virgil shrugged as he finished his cupcake “I am just seeing how long it takes for him to make chocolate-chip cookies again”

“Don’t count on it, he is planning to use our chocolate chips and make muffins”

“Awe man” 

Patton looked up “Maybe we can help him!”

“Huh?”

“You know, help Roman with whoever he likes!”

Virgil sat up, dusting some crumbs off of himself. “We don’t even know who he likes, didn’t he go into some denial tangent when you asked him?”

Patton nodded slowly “That’s true,, but we can try and figure it out!” 

“How would we do that?” 

“Well-” Logan started from where he  was seated on the bean bag “Roman seems to get his’ extra-over excitement’ when he is around our group, so I think it is safe to assume it is one of us.” 

“Really?” Patton peaked up. 

“Oooo yeah!” Remus peaked up “Bet it is one of you losers! Smart one Logie~” 

Logan sighed and dropped his head in his hands due to the nickname. Remus laughed successfully. That was before Janus threw one of Virgil’s plushies at him. Probably due to the ‘losers’ comment. 

Virgil hissed “Hey don’t throw those at him-” Virgil quickly grabbed the bat plush from Remus, he held it up “They don’t deserve that” 

Remus kicked Virgil’s bed “Shut up.” 

Virgil stuck his tongue out. Janus chuckled. 

“Guys, Roman?” Patton reminds. 

“Ok,” Virgil sat up “So maybe Roman likes one of us, gross by the way, what are we supposed to do about it? Ask him? I doubt he would admit to anything.”

“We can test him!” Remus blurted out, grinning. 

“Test him?” Virgil looked down at him on the floor.

“Yeah! Test him, you all can go can flirt with him and sh-t, and see if he does his stupid confession thing- oh! Maybe instead he will faint from surprise! Wouldn’t that be fun?” 

Janus threw something at Remus again, this time it was his whole jacket, because he is not allowed to throw Virgil’s stuff.  Remus just laughed at him

“Hey your pins hit my eye”

“Good” Janus hummed “Now give me the jacket back.”

Remus looked up, already putting Janus’s jacket on “Huh?”

Janus rolled his eyes “Gross, I didn’t say you were allowed to wear it” 

“You let Roman wear it!” Remus complained, taking the jacket off.

“Roman hasn’t once tried to bathe in trash, give it” 

Remus seemed to think for a moment, then shook his head 

“Nah”

Remus teasingly held the jacket up, Virgil sighed and grabbed it from his hand and threw it back at Janus. 

“You two are so annoying” Virgil grumbled

Janus mumbled a small thank you. Remus complained.

Virgil rolled his eyes “So, testing Roman?”

“Oh right!” Remus looked up “So you all would take turns and try to just, be romantic or whatever, I don’t know or care, but we’ll see if it gets him all head over heels flustered or whatever.” 

Logan shrugged “Its can work”

“Really?” Virgil squinted at him.

Remus beamed “Yayyy! Thank you Logieee~”

“Stop calling me Logie." Logan sighed. 

Remus giggled and sat back. “Whatever you say Lo lo~”

Logan sighed again and leaned back, looking away from him. 

“Well I guess we’re going this-” Virgil mumbled

“So who would try, to um, talk- with Roman first?” Patton stumbled on through his sentence. 

Remus nodded, thinking. Janus looked at him. Remus looked back at him then shrugged. 

“Welllll~ Logan’s pretty hot, so maybe him?~” 

Logan looked over at Remus and squinted at him. Remus winked at him and gave an overly flirty wave. Logan groaned and looked back up at the ceiling. 

“Logan?” Patton looked over at him “Would you be ok with that?”

Logan seemed to think for a moment before nodding “I suppose. I might as well”

“Alright! So Logan will go first then!”

Everyone in the room nods.

They all discussed the plan a little longer. About how Logan would try to approach this with Roman, and when.  

They decided that they would start when Roman came over. Since, according to Remus, he was supposed to come soon. 

During this whole plan, Janus stayed oddly silent. He usually didn’t talk that much when they all hung out, but this time was different. Patton frowned and looked over at him.

“Are you alright?”

Janus looks up, he nodded a bit and looks down again “Yeah”

“You sure?”

Janus shrugs “I am fine”

“Ok....” Patton looked away from Janus and back at everyone else. Then someone rang the doorbell. Virgil got up

“Well, that’s Roman, I’ll go get him”

Everyone nodded, as Virgil left the room

Patton looked at Logan “You ready?”

Logan shrugged “Sure” 

Chapter Text

Roman and Logan met at the school library during freshman year. Poor Logan, he was just trying to study for a test during his free period. 

Then Roman noticed him. 

The two of them had a few classes together, and they have never talked. So Roman decided it was the perfect time to introduce himself. 

There first interaction,,,,didn’t go that well. 

“Heyyyy.” Roman sang as he leaned on Logan’s table.

Logan looked up at him, before just looking back at his papers. 

Roman huffed. “Hello?” 

Logan sighed, he looked up at him. “What?”

Ouch. What's with the tone?

"Um, I'm sorry am I bothering you?"

"For a matter of fact, yes you are."

Roman gasped, offended. "Well then!"

Logan groaned "I am busy, can you please leave me alone?"

Roman huffed "Fine!"

It was a week later when Roman had found Logan. He brought him brownies.

"Hey- I'm sorry for bothering you before- I could have probably picked a better time."

Logan blinked at him. He accepted the brownies.
"Oh. It is, alright I guess, I suppose I could have been, softer with my response."

Roman smiled.
They had been friends since then.

Virgil had left the room to get Roman.

Logan had looked bad over at Remus. 

“Are you sure that I am the best option here?”

Remus shrugged “Probably, I can joke, but seriously, when you two became friends he would not stop talking about you. How ‘magical’ your voice was, or how ‘adorable’ you looked when you were thinking. He got really into making brownies during that time.” 

Remus glanced at Janus after he said that, who did not react. 

It wasn’t long before Virgil returned to the room. He flopped on his bed and nodded at everyone. He made a gesture to the door with his hand 

“3, 2, 1..”

Roman barged into the room, making some over the top pose 

Virgil did a finger gun at the doors “Roman”

Roman grins and he does a small twirl “Your favorite prince has arrived!”

This won Roman a small clap from Patton, and chuckled from Janus, a boo from Remuss, while Virgil and Logan just rolled their eyes, affectionately. 

Roman lightly kicked at Remus’ legs, earning him an annoying laugh. Roman flopped on the floor next to him. Roman looked at Janus, he waved at him and smiled. Then everyone else. Roman leaned forward and patted on his lap.

“So what did I miss?” He hummed

Patton looks over at Logan, Logan nods a bit. He looked around, before slowly getting up from his bean bag chair. He moves next to Roman and sits next to him.

Roman looked up at Logan. 

“Um, yes?” 

“You have very nice eyes.” 

“...” Roman stares at him “...what?”

“You have very nice eyes”

“Ok? Thanks?”

Roman looked around at everyone else, like he was asking for someone to explain what was going on. ROman looked at Remus, who just smiled calmly and shrugged. Roman shuddered. Remus’ calm smile was terrifying. 

Roman looked back at Logan. Logan was staring at him. Roman sat up a bit.

“Are- you ok? AM I missing something here?” 

Logan tilted his head. “I find you very fascinating.”

Roman squinted at him. He did not say anything.

“Did I do something wrong?” Logan stared up at him.

“I’m feelings kinda uncomfortable here to be honest-” Roman glanced to the side. 

Logan nodded. “Alright, my apologies then.” 

Logan stood up and walked back over to his bean bag chair. He sat down like nothing had happened. 

“Uh- Its fine-?” Roman was still confused, but he slumped back over and sighed. 

"Anyways- you guys will not belive what happened at drama club today, this new member Andrew-"

And with that Roman had launched into a rant about drama, and conversations continued how they would normally.

When it was late, Virgil was ready to kick everyone out. Expect Patton. He was allowed to stay if he wanted.

Roman got up andbstarted walked out "Re come on- I need to drive us home."

"Give me the car keys, I'll do it."

"Absolutely not."
Roman looked over at Janus. "Hey Jay, do you need a ride home- I know you don't have a car so-"

Janus opened his mouth to say something but Patton interrupted him.
"I can dive him home!"

Janus squinted at him confused.

Roman frowned "Are you sure?"

"He drove him here, he can drive him home Ro, stop with the heroics." Remus snickered.

Roman rolled his eyes "Shut it Re- come on then."

"Wait, I'm going to stay behide for a minute."

"Seriously?"

"Yup, go wait in the car."

"Wait, why can't I just wait in here?"

"I'm going to talk to Logan~"

"And I'm out." Roman started walking out "but don't take to long!"

And Roman was gone.

Logan looked at Remus "Why did that work?"

"Not important."

"Ok, so we know Roman's crush isn't Logan." Patton stated.

"Yeah, guess he's over his nerd kink, hmm," Remus started "Oh! I bet its the emo reject!" He pointed at Virgil.

Virgil gagged. "1. Never call me that again. 2. Gross."

"Welllll- back when me you and Jay Jay used to hang out Roman would always try to get involved, bet he wanted to see you!"

Virgil gagged again.

Remus looked at Jaus "What do you think?"

"Yeah, sure, that must be it-" he mummbled, he started walking out "Patton, I need to get home, can you please drive me?'

Remus sighed.
Patton looked confused but nodded a bit. "Ok- we're discuess what Virgil should do tomorrow everyone?"

Virgil groaned "Fineeee."

Patton got up and went to give Janus home.

Remus watched them. How annoying.

Chapter Text

Roman and Virgil had met freshman year of high school at orientation.

Roman had appearing behide Virgil, un prompted, so of course, as reason follows, Virgil punched him in the face.

"Ow-! What the hecksss-" Roman groaned and stumped back. "What was that for?"

"It was you're fault! Who sneaks up on someone like that?"

"I wasn't sneaking-" he rubbed his face. "I just wanted to say hi- I like your boots-"

Virgil looked down and stomped and the ground to look at his boots. Black combat boots.

"Oh- you were still sneaky- uh-" Virgil looked up at him. "Did you get a bruise?"

Roman stared at him. "No- I don't think you, are that strong." Roman chuckled.

Virgil gasped and crossed his arms. "For the record, I am very strong."

"Then thank you, kind stranger, for not using your full strength to punch me." He rolled his eyes.

"Yeah yeah,,, sorry-"

"I will accpect your apology, iiiff, you hang out with me after this?"

Virgil looked up at him, he squinted.

"Only if you want to!" Roman quickly added "you can totally say no don't feel pressured-"

Virgil squinted more then uncrowded his arms. "Not as a date."

"Very fair." Roman nodded "Then I'll see you later?"

"Sure."

And thats how Virgil joined the friend group.

Back to the present. Roman, Remus, Janus, Patton, Logan, and Virgil were on their way to the mall. Roman was driving, Remus was distracting him, Janus and Logan was yelling at Remus that he needs to stop or they will get in a car crash. Patton was crying, Virgil was hugging him.

A normal day.

Anyways Roman drive them to the mall and pulled into the parking lot. Once Roman got out of the car, Remus jumped out after him and started dragging him away.

"Hey Ro! Can you come help me find,,,a thing,,,at the,,,store-?"

Roman squinted "What are you talking about now?"

Remus groaned. He thought a moment. Then his eyes widened like he got an idea.

"I need help with something." Remus reacted then slightly gestured toward Logan in the car.

Logan squinted at him.

Roman gasped "Really?" He mummbled.

Remus quickly nodded. "Yup! Now come on!" He started pulling Roman away by his sleeve.

"Ack-! Watch it! Don't stretch out my shirt out rat!" Roman yelled.

Remus slightly looked back at the group they left in the car and he winked. 'Good luck.' He mouthed.

Janus sighed, he looked back at Patton, Logan and Virgil.

"So what was our plan here?"

Logan opened his phone. "When we go to eat lunch we are supposed to- hold on the grammar in this message doesn't make any sense what was Remus trying to say here-" Logan mummbled and reread the message. "Ok, so at lunch we need to say that we need to go to doffenrt store in the mall so taht the only ones at lunch will be Virgil and Roman. That is basically the plan, leaving out some,,,unsavory detailed written down here."

Virgil gaged. "What do I do if he does like me? I don't want to date him!"

"Well this you will have to reject him."

"I think thats worse."

Patton looked up at Virgil. "Come on Virgil, I know this is a little weird, but we need to find out who Roman likes, so we need you to try."

"Or we can leave him alone? Since when has any if his crushes lasted more then a month?"

"This seems different though!" Patton pouted.

Virgil groaned "Fine, fine- I'll do it."

"Yay!" Patton clapped.

"Yay-" Janus rolled his eyes.

"Sorry Roman, I need Janus to come with me to help look for records." Patton looked up at Roman as he grabbed on to Janus' arm.

Roman squinted "Oh- I can come if you want-we can just eat lunch after-"

"No!" Patton yelled, then swallowed.

"We won't take long," Janus spoke up "We'll just join you later." He lied.

Rkman frowned "Oh ok- it's just us four for now then-?" Roman looked at Remus, Logan and Virgil.

Remus shook his head "Nope! I need to take Logan somewhere, promised I'd get him a book or something- or- y'know-"

Roman sighed "Right- Virgil?"

Virgil sighed "Yeah- I guess I'm staying with ya-"

Roman sighed "Phew- hate being alone."

"Same here-" Virgil watched as the other four ran off.

Roman and Virgil sat down at a table after they got some food at the food court. Roman looked around. "So- how long before you think Janus and Patton will came back-?"

"Geez, we haven't even been togther for 10 minutes and you're already sick of being alone with me?" Virgil chuckled and rolled his eyes.

"N-no! Thats not-"

"Relax I'm kidding." He rolled rolled his eyes.
Virgil looked around. How does he do this?

"So, about your crush." Well direct is the best way.

Roman blushed "What? I don't have a crush!"

"Oh please." Virgil rolled his eyes. "Don't even bother with the whole speech, I can tell you like someone."

Roman blushed and looked down. "Fine- then,,,do you know who it is?"

"I don't. Think you could tell me?"

"Never." He shook his head "You are worse at keeping secrets then Remus! You'll probably tell him?"

"Him?"

"Me being gay shouldn't be the big surprise here Virgil."

"Yeah no not what I meant." Virgil said. He leaned back. Maybe he was just giving up too soon because he did not wnat Roman to like him, but it didn't SEEM like he was Roman's crush.

Then who is it?

After they ate Virgil got up. He said he would go find Patton and Janus well Roman went to find Remus and Logan. Before Roman would say anything Virgil ran off.

Virgil knew where Patton and Jnaus were obviously.

They were at some store that had a bunch if stuffed animals, no vinyls he guessed.

"Yo." Virgil walked up to them.

Patton waved "Virgil."

"You and Roman in love?" Janus smirked in a teasing tone.

Virgil gagged. "No, ew, but! I think I might have an idea who he likes?"

"Who?"

"Patton."

"Patton?" Janus blinked and looked at Virgil. "Why?"

Virgil nodded.

"Why?"

"When me and Roman where togther he kept talking about you two, and he suggested going to find you guys like- 5 times."

"Awe and you don't think it can be me?" Janus cooed.

Virgil chuckled and rolled his eyes. He stuck his tongue out "Gross."

Janus glanced at Patton.

Patton stared at Virgil.

"You really think it could be me?"

"Well Logan said it was one of us- soo-"

Patton nodded. "Ok- lets go find Remus and Logan to make a plan then-"

Remus held a book up to Logan's head. "This cover reminds me of you."

Logan looked over. "Remus that is the night sky on the cover."

"Yeah, cause your my star~" Remus said then gagged. "Roman told me to say that, its so stupid-"

Logan chuckled and smiled.

"There you guys are!"

Remus and Logan looked over to Virgil, Patton, and Janus running toward them.

Virgil stopped and huffed. "Good, we found you before Roman did."

Remus looked at Virgil "What? Did the date go bad? What did ya do?"

Virgil rolled his eyes "Stop calling it that. Always Roman doesn't like me, but I know who he does, maybe."

Remus looked over at Patton and Janus. "You do?"

"Yeah! Patton."

"...Patton?"

"Yeah!"

Remus looked at Patton "Uhh- no offense Patton, you're totally super hot but- you and Roman?"

Virgil looked up. "What do you mean? They are totally similar, they are both nice and soft and shit."

Remus squinted. "Not sure if Roman wants that thoughhh-"

"What do you know?"

"I've lived with him for 16 years-"

"And he wouldn't even tell you who he liked so-"

"Ok ok, no more agression-" Patton grabbed Virgil's arm.

"Look we don't know who he likes, and it can't hurt for me to try right?"

"You're the first one here to agree to this plan so easily." Remus squinted. "Do you like him?"

"Wh- no-"

"Leave him alone Remus." Janus rolled his eyes.

Remus sighed "Fine."

Logan looked at the others. "So what's the plan this time?"

Roman and Patton actually met in middle school. They were in the same class, and despite what one would think they were kinda,,,enemies.

Not enemies in the sense they hated and where violent anganst each other of course. Just typical middle school rivalry.

Roman was a 'popular' kid. Patton wasn't. You know how it goes.

Patton did not like Roman.

He thought he was quite rude and patronizing. He was also annoying.

Roman DID like Patton.

He thought he was cute and sweet, and, since, surprisingly, Remus was the first to befriend Patton, he ended up being at their house a lot.

Patton was Roman's first crush.

Also for the record, Roman was never really MEAN to Patton, he just had that tone of voice where everything sounded like a insult. Roman also never seemed to realize that Paatton didn't like him.

They didn't become friends till 8th grade.

Roman asked Patton out to their 8th grade prom. He made him sugar cookies.

Patton did obviously reject him. However after that they did start talking more. They both apologized for how they treated the other, and when they learned they would be going to the same high-school the next year, they decided they would stick togther.

Thats how they became friends.

Back to the present.

The next day Patton was at their house again. The plan this time was for Patton to Roman to help teach him to bake. (Despite what you would think, Patton should NOT be allowed in a kitchen).

This time it would actually just be the two of them, so they wouldn't need any plan to get alone.

Roman led Patton inside into the kitchen and started telling him about all the stuff they needed. They were making chocolate cupcakes. Roman had yellow icing.

Roman looked over "Are you ready to start?"

"Ready as I'll ever be, sugar."

Roman stared at him then chuckled "That joke falls flat Pat."

"Ah shucks, you aren't giving me a lot to yolk with here." Patton giggled as he watched Roman crack some eggs into a bowl.

Roman laughed and gave a thumbs down. "Boo! You're off you're game today."

Patton chuckled, Roman was right though. He was nervous. He has never flirted with anyone before, what was the protocol supposed to be here?

Patton walked over to Roman where he was working with the ingredients.

Patton looked uo at Roman. He was explaining what they should be doing. Patton grabbed Roman's hand. Roman stopped.

"Uh- Pat? You ok?"

"Yeah."

"Ok-" he pulled his hand away "I need both hands Patton." He smiled softly at him.

Patton chuckled awkwardly. "Yeah-"

Roman went back to explaining to him.

Patton watched him another moment. "Can we change the icing color?"

"Huh? Why?"

Patton shrugged. "Yellow reminds me of lemon and I don't like lemon."

Roman shrugged "it just vanilla Pat, it just has food coloring. Besides, I like yellow."

"Since when?"

"Since- always."

"Roman, in 8th grade you wrote a essay about how yellow was a unless and ugly color-"

"Oh-! Come on, I was kidding- aha-" he chuckled akwardly. "Now come on, you can mix the ingredients."

Roman handed him the bowl and the whisk.

Patton nodded a bit. "Ok..."

Patton started mixing everything together. He looked back at Roman.

"You know you're- pretty, Roman."

Roman looked over "Huh? Oh, thanks Pat, you're pretty too." He grinned. Roman either didn't notice this was Patton trying to flirt, or he was avoiding it.

Patton sighed, he kept mixing.

After they finished the mixing, Roman helped Patton pour the batter into the cupcake linears and they put them in the oven.

Roman clapped "There we go!"

Patton smiled. "Thanks for helping me."

Roman nodded "Of course Patton, we're friends."

Patton nodded. He thought a moment. "Hey Roman?"

"Yeah?"

"Remember when you asked me out in middle school?"

"Oh-uh- Patton- I know you've been acting weird all day but I don't really like you anymore- uh sorey-"

"Oh- no no thats not it I was just, ya know asking-"

"Oh-! Oh thank goodness, this is embarrassing." He laughed

Patton chuckled. "No no don't worry about it-"

Roman sighed. "Thanks thanks- ok- well, well we we wait for the cupcakes we can-"

Patton watched Roman as he talked.

So Roman didn't like him.

Chapter Text

The guys were getting conficted. They have gone though Logan, Virgil and then Patton. Roman did not like either of them. (Maybe, Virgil didn't actually try.)

Objectively, that just leaves Janus right?

Janus and Roman didn't actually meet that long ago. They met during sophomore year, Janus had no no special story with Roman, like Roman did with the others.

Janus felt that in Roman's life, he was quite,

Insignificant.

Yet, he was in love with him.

He was doubtful that there was any way Roman could like him back, but- Logan said Roman liked one of them,right? If it wasn't the others, then-

The group, minus Roman mrt up with each other once school ended outside the building. Roman was at drama club.

"Ok, so what do we do now?" Virgil looked over at everyone. "You know, about Roman."

Remus shrugged. "This is boring me now."

"This was your idea!"

"Blah blah, I can't think about this right now I gotta get ready for a date~" Remus looked over at Logan and winked.

Logan looked up. "Remus that isn't a date I agreed to tutor you in math."

Remus just shrugged and giggled.

Janus watched them.

Virgil looked up at the others again. "Ok seriously? Who are we guessing for Roman now? He always talks about that one dude Andrew from Drama class-"

"Oh well maybe-" Patton started.

Janus blinked.

Seriously?

They didn't even consider him?

Yeah, he didn't think Roman liked him, but is it so hard to even CONSIDER him?

Janus knew he was being dramatic, but he stormed away from them. He was upset ok?

Janus stormed off to the parking lot near the school. Janus wanted to go home. To bad he didn't have a car. Which means he was stuck here till he calmed down enough to suck his his pride and probably call Patton that he needs a ride, and just hope he won't force him to talk about what happened.

Janus sat down on the side walk and groaned. He put his head in his hands.

"Uh- Janus?"

Janus quickly looked up.

Roman stood above him. "Are you ok?"

Janus gasped, cause he was confused. "Roman? Uh- whats up-?" He wiped his eyes. Shit did he cry? "What are you doing here Roman, don't you have drama?"

"Yeah, but Remus texted me and said you got upset and ran off I- figured it would be ok to skip it for today- maybe?"

"The drama teacher is gonna freak out at you." Janus chuckled.

Roman chuckled "Yeah...but thats a issue for another day yeah?"

"Roman-"

"Nope, I'm here to see whats wrong." Roman moved and sat next to Janus. "What happened?"

"Its nothing-"

"Janus, you're crying-" Roman smiled.

Darn, he was crying.

Janus sighed. "You can just ignore me Roman its fine."

"Ok. Well what if I don't want to."

Janus looked up at him. He was smiling. His smile was so pretty.

Roman lifted his hand a bit. "Can I hug you?"

Janus nodded a bit, and Roman wrapped his arms around him.
"Can we talk about this?"

Janus sighed.

"-or not! I'm not pushing!"

Janus shook his head "No no- at some point I guess I need to deal with this, might as well stop preventing it- I guess-"

"Uh- ok-?"

Janus started playing with his nails so he didn't have to look at Roman.

"So-me and the other guys we've sorta been right to,,,find out who you like-"

"Oh-?" Roman blushed. "H-how did that go-?"

"Depends what you think would be good or bad here. Logan said you liked one of us-"
Janus didn't miss the way Roman's flushed deeper. He frowned. Maybe he did like Virgil. Maybe he lied to Patton.

"And-" Janus continued " Remus decided, the best way to figure out who you liked would be- to have us all like- flirt- with you-"

"Wait- Remus decided that?"

"Yeah?"

"Oh the jerk-" Roman mummbled.

Janus was confused but he continued on.

"Anyways, after you rejected Patton, the group decided that the next person they wpuld ask about was someone from there theater class,,,instead of me,,,which unset me because- I-I like you."

Roman blinked.

Janus closed his eyes and waited for the rejection.

Roman just gasped. "W-what? You,,,like me?"

Janus nodded a bit. He felt Roman's hands come up and cup his face.

"Can you look at me Janus?"

Janus slowly opened his eyes. He was met with the sight of Roman's smile. He swallowed.

"Do you wanna know who I like Janus?"

Janus frowned. "Not really."

Roman giggled. "No no- Janus its you!"

Janus looked up. "H-uh-"

"I love you, very much so. You're the one I like."

"Really...?" Janus sat up, he looked at Roman. Their faces where very close. So close.

Roman smiled softly. "I promise."

"Then,,," Janus' eyes drifted from Roman's eyes to his lips, then back up to his eyes.

Roman noticed. He leaned closer.

"I would like to kiss you. If that is ok."

"Obviously-" Janus hummed softly. Janus leaned forward and, he kissed him.

It was soft. Roman was soft. Janus tugged Roman closer and Roman seemed ok with that.

It felt like everything and nothing. It felt a hour and a minute at the same time. Like it was the most special thing that has ever happened to him yet it felt the most normal.

It felt right, this was right.

Afterwards when they finally backed away, Janus was at a lost for words. He took deep breath. "Wow."

"Romantic." Roman chuckled softly. He brought a hand up and started moving hair out of Janus' face.

Janus smiled. He quickly leaned over and gave Roman another peck on the lips.

Roman smiled. "So we're dating now, right?"

Janus smiled, he leaned his head in Roman's chest. "Obviously."
