Work Text:
“Hey…”
“Hey—What’s wrong? Why’re you so sad? Who hurt you? I’ll dismember them! Who was it! Give me a name!”
“Big brother you can’t dismember people as a hero.”
“I can too! Tell me who it was! Who hurt you fluff ball! What’s going on?”
“I thought UA would be different is all.”
“What’s going on, baby brother?”
“No one likes me, they say a quirkless kid shouldn’t be in the hero course and that it’s too dangerous, even Tenya said so. Bakugo’s in my class and he almost killed me in All Might’s class and he didn’t even get told off for it. Eraserhead almost expelled me, well, he did, but Nedzu overruled him and sent me back to class and now he’s giving me the stink eye. Big brother I want to come home.”
“No no, baby brother, UA was your dream school, we didn’t train for the last three years for you to pull out now. Big brother will come set them straight. I’ll be there by lunch time.”
“Thanks Kei.”
“No problem Izu. Anything for you.”
…
Nedzu knows immediately of course, of the phone call young Takami made, and of course, he knows to whom young Takami made the phone call to, so he prepares his faculty to the best of his ability. There was nothing more dangerous then a predator scorned, and young Takami’s older brother and guardian was nothing if not a fearsome predator, especially when it came to his kid brother.
He takes great pleasure in the tension, nervous energy, that overcomes his school when the red winged man lands in front of the gates and struts (stalks) up the pathway to the doors.
The stoat took great care in maintaining a discrimination free environment, you can lead a horse to water though you can’t make it drink, he can enforce a no tolerance policy, but he cannot dictate how an individual will behave.
He’s sure this visit will be an interesting one.
After all, it wasn’t often that a hero of Hawks standing came for a visit.
…
The cafeteria breaks into murmurs and a symphony of voices when the winged hero appears in the doorway with a bag of food in his left hand, gold eyes surveying them all, the hero classes straighten in their seats, hoping to catch the eye of the third ranking hero.
Hawks smiles when he finds whom it was he was looking for.
Iida Tenya pales at the sight of the man.
And they all watch him step forward, tucking his wings in, stepping between tables in the direction of the Quirkless’s table.
“Hey baby bird.” The man sets his bag of food down on the table and climbs over to sit on the bench facing the teen across from him. “I stopped and got us some sushi, your favorite, my treat.”
Takami lifts his head at the man’s voice and grins. “Thanks Kei!”
“Anything for you,” then the cafeteria is brought to silence by the following words. “Baby brother.”
…
The students of class 1-A all pause, one by one, as they enter their classroom at the sight that awaits them.
That of Hawks sitting on the edge of their teacher’s desk, Takami sitting with him between his legs, the hero’s arms curled firmly around his belly, their classmate giggling softly at whatever the man was whispering in his ear. Takami leans over to the side, and the hero follows him, the teen giggles harder, the hero smiles at the sound and whispers something in his ear that makes their classmate squeak.
“Hawks.” Aizawa breaks the, admittedly, cute moment by appearing in the doorway. “What are you doing here with Takami?”
“Ah no, I’m not in costume right now Eraser.” The blonde man smiles sharply, the fangs none of them knew he had make his smile appear like a shark’s smile, and rests his head against the greenette’s. “The name’s Keigo. Takami Keigo. You may call me Takami, though, not to me confused with my dear baby brother, you may call me Takami Senior.”
They watch the color drain from their teachers face. “Takami is your—”
“Brother?” Hawks—Takami Senior, nods lightly. “Yea. He is. He called me, nearly in tears, and told me some quite unacceptable things.” He turns away from the eraser hero standing in shock in the doorway of his own classroom, he gazes around the students before him, and lands on a teenage girl in the front of the class. “Uraraka Ochaco, isn’t it, gravity quirk, five point activation. You come from the lowest of low class families, I remember your application passing over my desk when it came to scholarships being handed out, you’re here on a scholarship, aren’t you?” The brown haired girl bites her lip and nods. “Uhuh, and can you guess who funds a majority of your scholarship?”
Uraraka swallows. “Y—You?”
“Very good.” Takami Senior nuzzles his younger brother softly. “Did you know I can give those funds just as easily as I can take them away, let’s talk about that, I take away your funds, for breaking the nondiscrimination rule in the contract you signed for the scholarship, and you find work at a seven-eleven. I could even go so far as to have funding for your parents construction company cut, I got pull, and when your family is evicted from your apartment, your parents business sinks into bankruptcy, you’ll look back and ponder, what could I have done differently?”
The brown haired girl swallows thickly as her eyes water. “Y—You wouldn’t though, r—right?”
“Well, as a hero, I wouldn’t.” He smiles when she sighs softly. “But, as an enraged older brother who’s baby brother you made feel less then human, you can bet your ass I would.” The hero’s sharp predatorial eyes shift through them again, Takami leans back against the man’s shoulder, Takami Senior presses a quick kiss to the side of his head as his gaze settles on another teenager. “Yaoyorozu Momo.” The creation quirked girl sits up straighter. “You stood up for my brother, did you not?”
The dark haired girl nods stiffly. “Yes. One should be judged on their character. Not their quirk. Or lack thereof. He is a formidable fighter.”
“Good for you.” The hero nods sharply. “I’ve always liked the Yaoyorozu’s, your gear is top notch, I’m going to sign an exclusive contract with your parent’s company as my sole equipment provider.”
Yaoyorozu stares in shock for a moment before smiling. “Thank you, Takami Senior.”
The winged man grins. “No probs, lil Creati.” His gaze travels over the group of students, there’s a mix of students in the class, those who stood up for his precious little chick, those who didn’t involve themselves at all, and those who….Discouraged him. He’s a predator out for blood at the moment. His eyes settle on one Bakugo Katsuki, the boy clicks his tongue, but Keigo picks up on the nervous shift he makes in his position. “Bakugo Katsuki. It’s a pleasure. Truly. I heard you almost killed my beloved little baby brother.”
“Tch.” The younger blonde snorts. “Deku should have ducked.”
Takami Senior laughs, so unlike the laugh he makes in public, this one is sharper, more threatening, some might even say deadly. “Oh, how nice, you call my baby brother useless. Well, Bakugo Katsuki, let me inform you, I don’t like you. I never will. I will inform everyone in my circle of friends, and being a charismatic guy, my circle of friends is quite extensive, and I can assure you, you will receive very little internship offers from any top ranking heroes no matter how good you do in the Sports Festival.”
The explosive teen has the nerve to growl at him. “You can’t fucking do that!”
“Oh, I can’t?” The winged hero questions lightly. “Are you going to stop me? Are you going to try and explode me? The third ranked hero? The public’s favorite? The Commissions favorite? Are you going to assault me?” He shakes his head. “No, you’re going to roll over like a good little puppy and accept the consequences of your actions, be thankful I’m not pulling you out of the hero course altogether, because if I asked for it, Nedzu would deliver.”
His eyes turn to the speedster. “I’ll inform Tensei about this Tenya. Enough said.”
Takami Senior turns his attention to their Sensei. “Eraser, friend, pal, buddy, boy do I have words for you. You tried to expel my baby brother on the first day on the basis that he has no potential for simply being quirkless. I’m not asking. I already know. We’ve been training for three years, I know it’s not as long as some of the others, but he was trained by three heroes in the top three, he’s skillset is on par with Todoroki’s, even without the advantage of having a quirk.” He jabs a finger in the other hero’s direction. “You try and single my baby brother out one more time, and I swear on every god and goddess out there, I’ll pull him out of this goddamn school, and when people ask why Hawks publicly pulled his baby brother out of UA and I inform them all it was because of Quirkless Discrimination, you can kiss your fucking job goodbye.”
The blonde man looks up. “Nedzu, you sadistic bastard, I know you’re watching this. I want All Might fucking fired for almost allowing my baby brother to be killed. If that’s not possible then I want him replaced with an actual competent adult to teach heroics. That oaf can’t teach a duck to swim let alone teenagers with superpowers.”
“Of course Hawks.” They jump at the sound of the Principle’s voice through the PA system. “How would you like to join my staff?”
The class, especially those who wronged the green bean, shiver at the predatorial smile he sends their way. “Why, I’d love to.”
