Summary
When Chris' is forced from his home, he winds up at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters; a home for mutant littles, where they can continue their studies, make friends, and through a specialized adoption program created by Charles himself, potentially be adopted by a caregiver suited for the young mutants' needs. Being placed into this program is entirely optional, though all littles are encouraged, and typically delighted to do so.
Chris is the exception. He despises being little, being a mutant--everything that makes him who he is, and does the bare minimum to survive at the school, knowing he has nowhere else to go.
It takes some time, but Xavier manages to convince him to join the program--leaving them both surprised when a caregiver immediately applies for his adoption. The process is long, vigorous, and each applicant must be verified trustworthy by Charles himself, but Chris is finally given the chance to have a real life, a family. As terrified of the 'what ifs' as he is, with the help of his friends, he tries his best to accept his new future, and all the good it may bring.
Who knew such a scared and hurt little boy could turn out to be the most loveable cuddlebug ever?
