Lies

Summary:

What happened if Jake actually did let go of Lexy?

Work Text:

Jake writhed in agony, screaming as much as he could as his vision was slightly blurry around the edges.

He had let go of Lexy, deciding the world was better off without her and politely asked Chucky to stab him a few times to make it seem like he was a sole survivor. Oh but he didn't expect it to hurt so much. So here he was lying next to Lexys recently deceased body, waiting for his screams to attract the nearby police officer. He made it seem like he put up a fight and was proud of himself but that feeling of pride disappeared once the pain settled in. To really sell it, Jake was impaled through the leg so deep it actually went through Lexy, effectively trapping him there.

"Oh my god kid!" He heard a male voice.

Thank god, this hurt like a bitch.

He continued crying, on top of Lexys body as if he wasn't the one to kill her and let his consciousness fade away.

All of the parents were gathered in a room together after Jake was hospitalized and Lexys parents were informed.

"I've come here to share some news with you. Now, Lexys and Olivers parents are consented to me sharing this information and so have Jakes guardians."

"Share what?" One parent asked.

"Firstly, Oliver's death was no accident. He was stabbed to death."

There were horrified gasps around the room.

"Secondly, the same person who did this most likely started the fire themselves. At first Jake Wheeler was our prime suspect but he and Lexy were attacked after visiting the house earlier tonight for reasons not yet known. Lexy didn't make it out alive whereas Jake is in criticsl condition We're hopeful he'll pull through for tonight."

Meanwhile

Bree and Logan sighed at the teen in front of them, completely oblivious to the horror that had recently occured that would surely change his life.

"Junior... We have some bad news." Bree began.

Junior sighed. "I know. I won't be able to run for another month. And... Oliver's dead."

Logan sat down on the other side, messaging his temples. "No it's not that. It's about Lexy."

Lexy?" Junior repeated.

"And Jake." Bree added.

"W-w-what happened?"

"The two went back to the house and were attacked.

" Attacked?!" He once again repeated.

"By the same person who killed Oliver."

"W-w-w-what do you mean? You said he died in the fire!!!!" He yelled.

Bree burst into tears. "Jake might not even make it! And Lexy... Oh Lexy..."

"What happened?! Tell me, God dammit!" He demanded.

"Lexy was killed..." Bree's mascara ran down her face. "Oh it was horrible! Poor Jake was stuck to her body!"

She hysterically wailed as Logan pulled them into a hug. Juniors screams of horror were heard throughout the whole floor.

Lexys parents slowly made their way into Jakes room, which was covered in gifts. Gifts by people who previously mocked him.

Caroline was stable and right in front of them, nervously clutching the doll.

"Jake, I hope you don't mind that we're intruding."

"No, not at all." He smiled.

"Caroline brought you something." Lexys father ushered her in.

"I shouldn't have wanted to take him from you so bad. Plus, Chucky says you're his best friend like me. But he says we can still be friends." She gently placed the ruined doll on his lap, petting his hair.

The parents obliviously chuckled, unaware what she said was most likely true.

"That's awfully nice of him. I'm sure he'd love to still have play dates with you. And I can always make you a doll." He thanked her, warming her parents heart at his generosity.

"Really?!"

"Yeah, you can choose exactly what you want the doll to look like."

She bounced round, ecstatic at the news. "Thank you!"

A knock at the door showed a nurse wanting to borrow Caroline, letting the two parents be alone with Jake.

"Now Jake, you don't have to do this as I understand this is a lot to ask for... But if you're up to it could you tell us exactly what happened? We didn't want to hear from the police since they're so... Official." Lexys dad teared up.

Jake let his smile fall off and began telling his story once more. "W-we went back to get Chucky to cheer up Caroline when she woke up. Lexy was said Chucky was in one of the bedrooms but she was too scared so she m-made me go first. Then we heard a bang and she fell back and the railing broke and she and I fell after I tried to grab her. We both survived the fall... But... But... " he took some fast paced breaths to seem rather over whelmed.

"It's ok, take your time." They reassured him sadly.

Jake nodded, sighing. "I couldn't move my leg much but before we could try get up she screamed. Then... I got stabbed from behind. It... It took a while before anyone found us but whoever did it had a deep voice and was smelt like mint."

"Mint?" Lexys mother leaned in, her heart breaking after Jakes eyes brimmed with tears.

"I-I-I'm sorry, I should've done a better job at saving her-"

"No it's not your fault. " Lexys dad insisted.

"We shouldn't have gone; I should've said not to go..." He hyperventilated until a nurse came and sedated him after he began experiencing a panic attack.

Lexys parents sobbed after hearing this. Their daughter had viciously bullied him but until the very end he had 'tried to save her'. Jake was a hero in their eyes. In everyones eyes. Junior had warmed up to him the most even if it was rather awkward in the beginning.

Devon visited the most though. Jake even said one day he could talk on his podcast about it. But not now, of course. After all, Jake was now a traumatized kid. Of course Devons mother was still rather suspicious of him. She was always on his back, questioning every detail about his story.

It was the day Jake left hospital, some time after the fire. Chucky occasionally killed for him and all the others were out of hospital. Jake was heavily overwhelmed and now was left with a temporary limp and still struggled a bit with walking. Jeez. What a bad idea that had been.

As promised, Jake made a beautiful doll that resembled Lexy to give to Caroline, who accepted it ever so graciously. Jake had also patched up Chucky, who looked as good as new.

Jake smiled as he picked up his backpack, ready for his first day back at school. He took one look back at Chucky, who chuckled.

"Kid, you're a natural. Now go catch up with your boyfriend. Wouldn't wanna miss the bus."
