Chapter Text

“So, Explain to me why we are going to a kids house again?” Shota Aizawa said to his boss, the principal of UA university.

Nedzu chuckled softly as he sat inside of Aizawa's capture scarf. “Well it’s simple really. He has a recommendation for the hero exam but we have no information on him at all.” Nedzu said as they approached the front door to a two story house.

Aizawa scratched his stubble and sighed. “Okay fine I can accept that as a reason” He said before pointing his thumb to behind them. “But why is HE coming along?” He said as he looked back at the deflated form of the number one hero, All Might.

All Might let out a nervous chuckle while waving slightly. “I um well” He started before he cleared his throat. “ I am coming along because I’m the one who found the recommendation. From what it said he was recommended because they say he has the fastest speed quirk to exist” He said gaining confidence as he spoke.

“That still doesn’t explain why you’re coming along,” Aizawa said through gritted teeth and looked over when he felt Nedzu tug on his scarf. He mumbled something under his breath before he walked up to the front door and knocked lightly.

After a few seconds a short and slightly chubby green haired woman came to the front door and looked at the three men. She let out a deep sigh before leaning against the doorway. “What did he do now?” She asked with the tone of no patience.

The three heroes looked at each other before Nedzu cleared his throat. “Excuse me but the person we are looking for is named Izuku Midoriya. Is he the person you’re referring too?” Nedzu asked while rubbing his snout.

The woman nodded slightly. “Yes he is, I’m his mother Inko Midoriya. Now can you tell me why you three are here and how much will it be to replace what he took or broke? '' She said while she walked inside and looked through her pocketbook for her checkbook.

Nedzu chuckled before he waved a paw at the woman. “On the contrary, Miss Midoriya. Your son hasn’t damaged or took anything from us” he said before pulling a folded sheet of paper out of his tiny coat pocket and held it out for her. “We are here because your son has been recommended for UA’s hero exam and we need more information”

Inko looked between the paper and the rodent and frowned before she rubbed her forehead. She leaned out the doorway and pointed to the garage “He’s in there most likely” She said before going back inside. “And be careful to keep an eye on your pockets” She warned before she shut the door.

Aizawa looked at Nedzu with a glare. “Just great” He said before the three moved towards the garage and knocked on the metal door.

They waited for around a minute before they heard footsteps approaching from behind them. The three men turned around and were met with a teen with gray hair with green highlights. They looked him up and down and saw him in a metallic gray jacket with a band shirt on with black jeans and red high tops.

“Can I help you guys?” The teen said before popping a piece of popcorn into his mouth. He looked at the three random adults and smiled softly.

Nedzu and Aizawa looked at each other before Nedzu looked back at the teen. “Are you perchance Izuku Midorirya?” The principal asked as he started climbing down towards the ground.

The teen nodded before he started walking around the three heroes. “Yeah no. I don’t know who that is but it ain’t me” He said before he pulled the garage door open and walked inside.

The heroes followed after him and All Might’s jaw dropped when he saw the teen made it into his bedroom. He saw a king sized bed with sheets thrown around and about six tvs. He also looked around and saw a ping pong table with one ball and paddle and a pinball machine.

“Well we know that isn’t true Mr.Midoriya because your mother has already told us who you are” Nedzu said as he walked over to the teen, who was digging around his closet looking for something. “All we want to do is have a quick little talk, that's it” Nedzu said softly.

Izuku froze before he slowly looked behind him to the three heroes and quickly looked between the three. “Who are you guys?” He asked nervously.

Nezu was about to answer his question before a quick breeze of wind hit all three heroes and they looked around and saw Izuku in a different spot, sitting on his bed looking through their wallets and holding the sheet of paper.

“UA huh? So let me guess, '' Izuku said as he set down their school id. He pointed at Nedzu “You are the principal and this paper is a recommendation to your school?” He asked while looking over the paper.

The three heroes all had different reactions to having their wallets taken. Nedzu simply chuckled while All Might patted himself down to make sure the teen didn’t take anything else and Aizawa activated his quirk and had a hand on his scarf.

“Nedzu, are you sure this is the type of kid you want to attend our school?” Aizawa asked with a glare as he stared at the teen.

Nedzu patted Aizawa’s leg making him turn off his quirk and walked over to the teen and looked up at him before climbing onto the bed. “Mr.Midoriya what we just saw was your quirk wasn’t it?” He asked, smiling.

Izuku leaned back from the rodent before he nodded. “Uh yeah that’s my quirk. It makes me super fast and makes me energized but it was bad because the other kids at school assumed I was the person that would steal stuff and be mean to them so I left school” He said nervously and couldn’t stop himself from spewing out words.

All Might slowly walked over to the teen and slowly took his wallet back. He put it into his inner jacket pocket and looked at the teen. “DO you know how fast you can move?”

Izuku disappeared and the three heroes looked around but saw him playing ping pong by himself. “Last time I was able to find out. I think I peaked at around 1,076 miles per hour” He said calmly as he kept running back and forth to hit the ball.

The three heroes all looked at each other and Nedzu was the first to restart his mind and started laughing, causing the other two to lean away and get nervous.

Nedzu’s laugh made Izuku break concentration and look over at the rat. Nedzu calmed down enough to fix his suit before he looked at the teen. “We would love to have you take the hero exam Mr.Midoriya” Nedzu said before he climbed onto Aizawa’s shoulder and bowed slightly. “That sheet of paper has all the information you’d need for if you do accept to take the exam” He said before he signaled that it was time to leave.

Izuku watched the three leave and shook his head. ‘Only reason I would even think of taking that exam was if it was for a good reason’ He thought to himself before he slammed the garage door closed.

Izuku laid on his bed and shook his foot on his knee and looked around his room. He sighed before he sat up and slowly walked into the house and over to his mother, who was watching something on tv.

“Hey uh mom” Izuku said softly, getting Inko’s attention. He looked down nervously and walked over to in front of her. He kneeled down and looked up at her “D-do you think it would be good if I took that exam?” He asked nervously.

Inko looked down at her son and hummed to herself. She stood up before she kneeled in front of him and put a hand on his cheek gently. “Izuku. Ever since you left that school and stopped hanging out with your friends and started stealing with your quirk. You have been a real pain in my ass” She said with a small chuckle before she stared her son in the eyes. “But I think if you take this exam you will see what you were born to be”

Izuku looked at his mom and felt tears building in his eyes and running down his cheeks. Everything went quiet for him but all he could hear was his mom’s last words. “You can be a hero” She said loudly to him and he let his tears flow.

He nodded as he slowly stood up and walked back to his room and shut the door. He walked over to his table where the paper was laying and looked over the instructions. He smiled to himself slowly as he read over all he needed to know.

‘I got this’ He thought as he walked over to his calendar and marked the date for the exam. “Wait, It’s a week away” He said before he laughed to himself. “Well guess we better see how fast I can make this week go by” He said as he walked to his closet and dug around for a few minutes and smiled when he found a pair of goggles and a Walkman. “This is what I’ve been waiting for” He said as he opened his garage door and looked at the waiting road.

He walked out to it and did some light stretching. He put his goggles over his eyes and clipped the Walkman onto his belt. He set the headphones on his ears and clicked play and closed his eyes as the music played quickly for the normal ear. He let out a slow breath before he opened his eyes and disappeared with a boom and a gust of wind.

“Izuku get up. It’s the day of the exam” Inko said as she leaned on the door of the garage. She looked around the room her son had taken over and frowned. “Also please clean up before you leave” She said before turning around to leave.

Izuku poked his head out from under his blanket and wearily looked around. He reached over and grabbed his phone and saw the time and date. “Aw man. I’m almost late” He said before he used his quirk to get his room straightened and get dressed. He smiled to himself in his mirror as he adjusted his goggles.

“Damn that’s a handsome man” He said out loud before he heard a giggle and yelped. He turned to see his mom laughing to herself. He glared at her without any anger in it. “Mom could you not sneak up on me please” He asked before he got his blush under control.

Inko waved her hand before smiling. “I’m sorry Izuku. It’s just you are slowly becoming a man and I’m not fully ready” She said before walking out of the room and to the kitchen. “Oh and hurry up, you're already late” She yelled out to him.

Izuku looked at his phone and screamed before he clipped his walkman to his pocket and grabbed a silver backpack. He walked out of the garage and gave his mom a quick peck on the cheek before he made his way to the driveway. He looked around before slipping his goggles over his eyes and slid his headphones over his ears.

He took a deep breath before he saw everything slow down and started jogging towards UA university. He ran fast enough no one would be able to see him but slow enough he didn’t leave craters in the asphalt and cause accidents.

After five minutes of running he slowed to a stop right outside of UA’s gates and walked through them. He walked around for a bit before he found the room for the paper testing and walked inside and took a seat. He leaned back in his seat and took his goggles and headphones off.

“Excuse me. How did you get here so fast?” A monotone voice asked from behind him and he turned around before his train of thought left him. The girl he was looking at was as one would describe a very beautiful person. Nice long red and white hair split perfectly in half and beautiful gray and blue eyes.

The girl gave a small glare at him. “I asked you a question not to stare at me” She said, causing Izuku’s brain to snap awake.

“Oh um I’m sorry. The reason I was able to get here so fast is because of my quirk” He said with a smile before he looked around and saw it was only him and her so far. He turned back to the girl and smiled “So um I’m Izuku Midoriya” He said holding his hand out.

The girl stared at his hand before looking down at the book in front of her causing Izuku to deflate. Before he could say anything else more of the recommended students walked in. He knew he wouldn’t have any more time to try and talk to the girl so he just turned around and put his headphones on.

After getting handed a test and told they have one hour to finish it and hand it back in. Izuku finished in ten minutes and walked up to the teacher who was watching over the testing. “I’m finished” He said as he set his test on the table.

“Impossible. Go back and keep doing it. Just because you don’t know something doesn’t mean you should leave it blank and not check your work” The teacher said with a frown and went back to their paperwork.

“Well you see my quirk makes it so everything is slower for me because of my speed. So what takes you an hour could take me less time” Izuku said with a smug look before he slid his test to the teacher and started walking out of the room.

As Izuku walked out he caught the attention of a green haired girl with sharp teeth, who was grinning and licking her lips as she watched the teen walk away. ‘Oh mama has found herself a new plaything’ She thought to herself before she went back to her own test.

SInce Izuku had time to waste while waiting for the others to finish. He walked around the school and explored. He took a quick peek into a classroom and laughed when he saw a frog headed teen shooting his tongue out towards a bug on the wall.

“Glad to see you accepted our offer mr.Midoriya” Nedzu said from behind Izuku, Making him yell and zip into the wall next to them cracking it.

“Oh man i’m so sorry I’ll fix that eventually,” Izuku said as he rubbed his head before he looked down at the Principal, who waved his hand and chuckled.

“Nonsense Mr.Midoriya we will simply have cementos fix that. But since you are here, why aren’t you at the exam?” Nedzu said with a raised eyebrow.

Izuku rubbed the back of his head and chuckled. “Well I finished my test and decided to explore since I had an hour to wait for everyone to finish” He said as he walked along the halls with the principal.

Nedzu hummed before he looked down at his watch. “Well Mr.Midoriya it seems the time for the physical exam is fastly approaching and then you still have your interview. But I think we can do that now just me and you. What do you say?” Nedzu said as he looked up at Izuku.

Izuku stood there and thought about it. “Yeah I think we could get that out of the way first” He said before he followed Nedzu towards his office. Once they arrived he sat down across from Nedzu and looked around the room. “Nice office” He said, fighting the urge to run around it and mess with stuff.

Nedzu looked him straight in the eyes and chuckled before he poured two cups of tea. “So Midoriya, Why do you think you deserve to go to UA?” Nedzu asked.

Izuku choked on his cup of tea. He looked at Nedzu before he wiped his chin with the back of his hand. “Well you approached me. All I was doing was cleaning up that beach to make myself and my mom feel better about what I had done with life. I mean hell I quit school and did online because I was tired of the bullying. But then that Hero I guess saw me and sent in a recommendation and you guys approached me” He said while staring down at the walkman in his hand. “Now I guess I wanna do it to help people and repent for my actions”

Nedzu slowly clapped his hands and smiled at the boy. “You are already on the right path young man. Not only can you admit what you wanna do, you keep fighting for it” Nedzu said before his watch beeped and he smiled at Izuku. “Well it seems it is time for the physical exam. Now run along” He said motioning his hand to the door.

Izuku stood up and downed his cup of tea and shook his head in disgust. “Thanks for the tea” He said before he quickly walked to the testing area.

Izuku jogged over towards the crowd of students, which had shrunk since the written exam. “Huh where’d the rest of them go?” He asked. “They quit,” the monotone girl from before said, scaring Izuku. “Jesus don’t just sneak up on people” He said before the girl walked away. Izuku shook his head before he walked to the group.

“Okay everyone. You will all be paired into groups of four and going to the assigned race track. There you will line up and when I say go you will use your quirk to get to the finish line as fast as possible” The instructor said while handing out pieces of paper with letters on them.

‘A race huh. Well that doesn’t seem very fair for the rest of them’ Izuku thought before shrugging and taking his slip of paper and saw he was in group d. ‘Well guess I have some time to kill and watch the others’ He thought before he sat on the ground and started playing his music.

One by one the groups went. With the winners being a tall black hair boy with a wind quirk, A green hair girl who was able to split herself up into pieces and the red and white haired girl from before.

Izuku slowly stood up when he saw it was his group's turn to run. He kept his headphones on. He looked at the other examinees and watched as they all used their quirks to move as fast as they could.

Izuku watched them for a bit before he saw some of the other test takers getting upset or laughing at him. “Hey dumbass you’re supposed to get to the finish line” A blonde haired guy yelled from the crowd while smirking.

Izuku waved at him before he nodded and slipped his goggles in. He shook his hands before he disappeared down the track and appeared at the finish line as the leader was about to finish.

“What?” The leader of the group said in surprise before he looked around. “How the hell did you get here?” He asked angrily.

“Simple bud. I used my quirk” Izuku said before he started walking over towards the group of examinees, who were all standing there in surprise and awe. “So do we get lunch or is that something we were supposed to bring ourselves?” Izuku asked before he looked over to see the green-haired girl laughing.

“Man you really know how to shut up critics” She said flashing her sharp tooth grin at him and sending a wink.

Izuku smiled at the girl before he looked back at the teacher. “Really tho, what do we do for lunch?”

Chapter Text

Izuku yawned as he woke up to someone pounding on the garage door. He swayed as he walked before he used his quirk to quickly get dressed and changed for the day. “Alright I’m coming!” He yelled out as the pounding didn’t stop and swung the door open. He looked around as he saw no one was there and raised an eyebrow. He shook his head before he looked down to see Nedzu standing there smiling.

His shoulders lowered as he looked at the rat. “Can I help you sir?” He asked as he led the principal into his room.

Nedzu chuckled before he looked around the messy room of stolen goods. “Well yes you may. Now you see when we held the recommendation exams we planned on only having four winners” Nedzu said as he pulled a cup from his vest. “But we didn’t plan on your exam being such a leap above the rest. So we decided to increase the allowed students to six” Nedzu said before holding out a letter. “Congratulations and welcome to U.A university”

Izuku listened as the principal explained everything before he stood up off of his bed and held his hands on his hips. He looked back at the rat before letting out a scream. He laughed as Inko ran into the room with a broom in her hands and panting. “I got in!” He screamed before he coughed and went back into his laid back attitude. “I mean. I got in” He said smoothly.

Later that night Inko made Izuku’s favorite meal for the first time in a long time. They planned how to move all his stuff to the dorms, which caused Inko to slap his head with a newspaper when he suggested using his quirk.

Izuku slowly looked around the front of the dorms and let out a chuckle. ‘Man who would’ve thought this criminal would be a future hero’ He thought to himself before he activated his quirk on instinct and moved quickly to avoid the hand about to grab his shoulder. When he looked at the person attempting to grab him he saw it was the green haired girl from the exam.

He deactivated his quirk and watched the girl be surprised to see he was beside her. “Jesus christ you really are fast huh?” The girl said with an evil smirk. “Well hopefully that’s all that you’re fast at” She said teasingly, causing Izuku to blush brightly.

“Ah hm” They heard from beside them and saw Aizawa standing in his sleeping bag looking annoyed. “If you think being here consists of games then you can leave already. I already don’t like you” He said pointing at Izuku. “I will not allow any following while you all train to be the best heroes so listen up. You are here to be heroes so act like it. And tomorrow the normal exam winners will arrive so help them all tomorrow” He said before he started hopping away and around the corner.

Izuku leaned as he watched him leave before he adjusted his goggles. He looked back at the girl and smiled at her. “Izuku Midoriya” He said as he held his hand out.. The girl smiled before taking his hand and shaking it very extra. “Setsuna Tokage,” She said to him.

“Well it is nice to meet you, Tokage. Did you already move all your stuff into your room?” He asked before he walked to the front door of the dorms and marveled at the space it had. “Man this is so much better than the garage but all it’s missing is my flair” He said while rubbing the back of his head.

Setsuna chuckled as she walked with him and looked around. “Man you could fit at least ten Me's in here” She said, causing Izuku to look at her funny. She turned to him and grinned “I know that’s a stupid thing to said but it’s funny” She said before she skipped over to the kitchen.

Izuku shrugged before he put his hands in his jacket pockets and walked after her. “Do you know how to cook?” He asked curiously as she was raiding the fridge and cabinets.

Setsuna shook her head before shutting the fridge with her hips. She waddled towards the kitchen counter and dropped a few ingredients. “Nope, not really. But this is the fun part of living in a community kitchen” She said before looking back at him with a devilish grin. “Make a mess and everyone has to help”

Izuku thought over what she just said before he smirked and hopped off the island. He started helping her in making food. Which led to them having a mini food fight and burning a pot of rice, setting off the smoke alarms.

They laughed as they had fun cooking before they heard the front door enter and light footsteps entering. They both turned and froze when they saw two girls nearly as tall as Izuku. One had a spiky ponytail of obsidian black hair, A very curvy body and onyx cat eyes. The other girl was the one from the exams who looked around bored and a slight hint of relief in her eyes.

“Hello there” The black haired girl said as she walked over politely. She walked over and held her hand out to the two “I’m Momo Yaoyorozu” Momo said before shaking both of their hands. She smiled before she let out a small gasp and turned and pulled the other girl to the group. “And this is Shoko Todoroki” She said introducing Shoko.

Izuku wiped his hands nervously on his pants before holding his hand out to Shoko. “Nice to meet you. I’m Izuku Midoriya and this is Setsuna Tokage” He said Shaking Momo’s hand but flinched when he saw Shoko glare at his hand.

They all watched as Shoko walked away and looked for her room on the list. After finding it she grabbed her luggage and walked up the stairs to her room. Momo frowned as she watched her leave the room. “I’m sorry if I upset her” Izuku said before walking towards the door of the dorms.

Setsuna frowned and looked at Momo. “Hey don’t sweat it Green. Or do you prefer gray?” She said as she ran after her new friend.

After spending time away from the dorms to get his mood back and running. Izuku and setsuna got back to the dorms to see Momo sitting in one of the loveseats in the living room reading a book and drinking tea. Izuku cringed as he thought about the rat that won’t leave him alone and Setsuna grinned at the girl.

As Setsuna walked over to talk to Momo. Izuku walked towards the stairs and up towards his room on the third floor. ‘Man there are a lot of rooms. I wonder if this will be just like high school before I left’ He thought to himself before he bumped into the one other person not downstairs.

Izuku looked at Shoko as she glared at him. “I’m uh” He sputtered before he cleared his throat. “Listen I just wanna apologize for earlier downstairs and upsetting you” He said before he started walking towards his room and shutting the door.

As he locked the door he leaned against the door and let out a shuddering sigh. He looked around his room happy to see all his posters and lights hung up and walked up to his giant stereo. He looked through all his music selections before settling on some pre quirk 80’s music.

He turned the volume up just enough to be loud but not enough to disrupt anyone. He kicked his gray high tops off and jumped onto his bed. He put his arms behind his head and shut his eyes, falling asleep.

While Izuku was snoozing Setsuna and Momo smiled at his music choice. “You know with all the back to the future type clothes he wears you’d expect him to enjoy this type of music” Setsuna said while laughing.

Momo tilted her head and set her cup down. “I’m sorry but what’s back to the future?” She asked, causing Setsuna to freeze and looked over at her. “Oh that does it we are watching it tonight” She said before running up to her room.

Turns out having Momo watch it would lead to her trying to use her quirk to make some of the items from the movie.

Izuku woke up groggy as he was blinded by the sun peeking through his blinds and groaning. He slowly got out of bed and turned off the music. “God I shouldn’t fall asleep to music that loud” He said, picking his ears with his pinky finger as he walked out of his room and towards the stairs.

As he got downstairs he walked to the fridge and opened it looking for something to drink. “Hey Zu’ nice of you to join us” He heard setsuna say with a giggle. He shut the fridge with a glare and looked towards Setsuna and felt his heart stop as he saw 19 other people in a circle. “Uh” Izuku said before using his quirk to get back to his room and change.

After he came back in his usual get up. He walked over to the empty seat beside a laughing Setsuna and sat down. “Sorry about that everyone” He said before he flicked Setsuna in the head.

Momo stood up and smiled to him. “No it’s okay Midoriya. We forgot to wake you up when everyone arrived. We already did a class introduction but we can just have you do one and then we can repeat our names to you if you’d like” She said, while looking for any objections from anyone.

Izuku looked around and nodded slowly. “Uh okay” He said before he stood up. He adjusted his jacket and his tape player and looked at everyone. “Okay, Hi my Izuku Midoriya, uh my quirk is super speed and I enjoy using it at will” He said quickly before sitting down.

After being introduced to everyone, They all went about doing their own things. Izuku somehow ended up talking to a purple haired girl with earphone jacks on her ears, Named Kyoka jirou, about music. “No no I’m telling you without george micheals wham! Is nothing” He said smiling.

He looked around and saw nobody sending him looks of hate or anger. He smiled and thought to himself ‘Maybe this time it won’t be bad’. But he may be able to outrun many of his problems. There has always been one that shows up.

The front door loudly slammed open, causing everyone to turn and look what caused it. Stomping his way inside was an ash blonde spiky haired teen, named Katsuki Bakugou. Bakugou looked around while glaring before his red eyes caught the gray and green teen. “Deku” He growled out before letting his quirk loose and flew towards Izuku.

“Shit” was all Izuku could get out.
