It was strange being left alone with Pixal and Wu’s pet chicken. If Misako was being honest, she had never actually spent time alone with the female nindroid and didn’t know much about her.
The nindroid in question was currently playing video games as she tended to do when there were no chores or work to be done. Pixal gave a small smirk as the score number went to a previously unseen value. If Misako had to guess, the girl had just beaten one of the boys’ high scores.
“Who did you beat this time?” asked Misako
“Cole, he had previously beaten Zane’s score but no one has been able to reclaim the title, until now,” said Pixal
Suddenly the final boss appeared and Pixal’s smirk grew. She would be the first to complete the game which would anger the boys.
“YES! LAVA ZOMBIE QUEEN!” she exclaimed jumping onto the top of the couch.
She then blushed and sat back down when she realized Misako had been watching.
“I see you have picked up some of the boys’ habits,” laughed Misako
“It is hard not to when you spent over a year in one of their heads,” said Pixal sheepishly
Misako chuckled.
“I suppose that would explain it,” she said
“I used to test games for design and strategy purposes for Cyrus Borg but it is only recently I have found myself enjoying them just as much as the ninja,” said Pixal
“Oh I understand, I used to drink tea only when I was annoyed with my husband because he used to hate tea as it reminded him of his father and brother so I would be petty and make myself a cup to drink in front of him. Eventually, I grew to like it even though college had made me a firm coffee drinker. It became funny when Garmadon would walk in and see me drinking it and immediately would start wondering what he did to make me mad,” said Misako
“I believe that he had to have angered you quite often in order for you to develop a liking for tea,” said Pixal
“Oh at least once a week he’d do something stupid and make me wonder why I ever married him,” said Misako
“Zane has gotten on my nerve circuits a fair few times, the most recent being the whole Prime Empire situation. That silly nindroid decided to download thousands of detective shows, books, and movies and start narrating every little thing he thought and did in very outdated terminology while wearing a silly-looking trench coat and fedora. I could have dealt with it most of the time if he didn’t also use it to flirt with me,” said Pixal
“Men,” chuckled Misako
“I believe he had Jay fix his humor switch to be on permanently, he is lucky I love him,” said Pixal
Misako laughed.
“I used that same line when Garmadon was being an idiot, the You’re lucky I love you, line. Granted he was always more mature than Wu but both of them could be just so stupid sometimes,” said Misako
“I have picked up most of my ways of dealing with the ninja’s antics from Nya, they seem to be effective, her glare is my favorite to use because it expresses my annoyance without the use of words,” said Pixal
“Ah yes the, are you joking right now or just stupid, glare. Though I believe that is part of being female and not a result of hanging out with Nya even if she is particularly good at it,” said Misako
“Interesting, it was not programmed into me, even when I rebuilt myself I never coded that particular ability,” said Pixal
“Because there is no way to code it, even female animals do it, if you are a girl you know the glare,” said Misako
“Are there any other things that being coded as female allows me to do?” asked Pixal
“A higher sense of self-preservation, you are less likely to do something stupid just to see what might happen. As well as several other types of glares,” said Misako
“Why did Nya never inform me of these abilities?” asked Pixal
“They aren’t something we usually think about so it probably never crossed her mind,” said Misako
“Would you like to try this game? I guarantee you will beat at least Wu’s high score,” said Pixal handing her the controller.
“Oh I haven’t played a video game in years, I believe the last one I played had something to do with a monkey and an electrician,” said Misako
“Ob there's a whole series based on that, the electrician became a more fleshed-out character and there is even a racing game that Zane has mastered. None of the others will play it with him since he is too skilled at it,” said Pixal a hint of pride in her voice at her boyfriend’s skill.
Misako caught on to this.
“How serious are you and Zane about each other?” asked Misako, she needed some good old-fashioned playground gossip.
Pixal smiled and blushed before taking something out from being tucked under her shirt. It was the yang half of the yin-yang pendant.
Misako’s eyes widened.
“Since when did he ask you?” asked Misako, game all but forgotten.
“About a month ago, we have been trying to plan the wedding but keep getting sidetracked,” said Pixal
“Does anyone else know?” asked Misako
“We thought it best to keep it a secret,” said Pixal
“Well I hope he chose a more romantic moment than Jay did,” laughed Misako
“Oh it was quite romantic, apparently he downloaded thousands of romance novels and movies to try to figure out the best way to ask, eventually he settled on cooking an extravagant meal for us followed by a moonlit ride on his power dragon. We touched down in the city park and he asked me under a cherry tree,” said Pixal
“Wow, that’s more than Garmadon did when he asked me, though it was still rather sweet in an evil villain sort of way,” said Misako
“It is almost time for lunch, is there anything, in particular, you would like?” asked Pixal
“I didn’t know you could cook, I was just going to heat up some instant soup because I am forbidden from using the kitchen and your boyfriend would know if something got moved in correctly,” said Misako
“He taught me how to cook and I am one of the only two he allows to use his kitchen, the other being Wu,” said Pixal
Suddenly the chicken jumped onto her head.
“Oh hello Mrs. Benedict,” said Pixal
“Wait the chicken has a name?” asked Misako
“Zane named her in exasperation because she was underfoot when he was making eggs benedict,” said Pixal
“Zane is a lot more interesting than I thought,” said Misako
“Everyone has their quirks,” said Pixal
“Even you?” asked Misako
“Oh yes, do not tell anyone I told you this but I quite enjoy watching a variety of sports competitions,” said Pixal
*flashback*
“PUNT YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH! OR DO I HAVE TO GO DOWN THERE AND DO IT FOR YOU!” shouted Pixal at the TV, she was wearing Cole’s guzzler hat and had a box of pizza next to her. While also wearing a pair of pajama pants and one of Zane’s t-shirts.
*End Flashback*
Misako saw the slight blush on Pixal’s cheeks.
Maybe this would work out well.
