A Stubborn Pup That Was For Sale

Summary:

Virgil, a simple Omega who has had to hide his whole life to survive, had gone to an auction to hopefully get a friend or maybe something more…

But, an Alpha by the name of Roman probably won’t like that idea.

Chapter Text

Virgil’s eyes looked upon the stage as the first pets were brought out and shown, humming as he looked over their condition for the best deal.

He would want an Omega but with being an Omega himself, it may cause conflicts and power struggles between them.

He sighed, seeing mostly weak and sad Omega’s as they were the most popular ones to be sold, but his ears perked up slightly once he seemed to hear the positions change to Alpha’s and now his attention was caught.

His eyes were glued onto the stage, waiting for the perfect one to hopefully show up.

When finally, one that interested him did.

They were a pretty average size male, no health conditions to speak of, even if Virgil would pay for treatment if this Alpha needed it.

And so the bidding began, he raised his sign.

200 easy

400 more than doable

450…...?

He was surprised that it was the highest the bidding went, as all the others had sold for thousands but maybe they just didn’t want an Alpha.

He was the last bidder, smiling softly as he looked up at the Alpha he had just basically won.

He was actually surprised though when the Alpha growled at him once he had gotten up to the stage to retrieve them, showing him that they were not afraid to hurt him if need be…

Or, they were bluffing and were generally scared of him and trying to get him to go away.

Or, they just hadn’t broken this alpha in yet, he was more than fine with that. Especially if it meant that his Alpha wasn’t as mistreated as others you would find here.

Either way, he chuckled, “you’re a pretty one aren’t you?”

The Alpha seemed to either be offended or confused by his words, their tail wrapping around their body as if to comfort themselves or they might be trying to make themselves appear bigger to ward him off.

Virgil was given the options of keeping the Alpha in his cage to transport him home or to forcibly take the poor Alpha who looked a bit terrified right now out of the cage and practically shove him in his car.

Virgil hummed, knowing that the cage transportation option would be safest but he couldn’t help but think of how the Alpha was most definitely terrified…

And he didn’t want the alpha to be uncomfortable while he drove the Alpha home.

“If you can get him in my car without the cage then that would be fine, but if he shows enough resistance then feel no need.” He spoke firmly.

Like an Alpha.

He thought to himself for a second before following the men to his car who picked up the cage, bringing it with them.

The Alpha, for a fact, was not at all impressed by them forcing him into Virgil’s car, trying to bite and snap at them, Virgil running forward to grab one of the men's wrists as they were going to slap the Alpha.

He growled.

Why did he growl…?

“I said, and I thought that I was firm on this. If you can’t get him out of the cage, then leave him be.”

The two men seemed surprised and then confused but nodded quickly, instead putting the whole cage into his car and watched as the alpha growled softly, moving to the farthest corner.

Virgil sighed, watching to make sure the two men walked away before he got into the car, adjusting his car mirror to be aimed to look at the sad cage in the back of his car…

He was able to see that the Alpha apparently seemed to be done trying, as he just slumped against the tiny bars at the back of his cage and just looked numbly out the window in front of him.

The Omega’s heart softened…

He sighed as he started to drive, not able to stop from looking at the cage every once in awhile.

He would’ve preferred that he wasn’t in the cage, but he wasn’t about to force the Alpha…

It’s not like he had any say in the matter, even if he tried to force the Alpha out, the chemistry of their bodies would be put into play and with only that, an Alpha could easily out-power him.

It didn’t take long to get home, to park into his driveway and unbuckle his seatbelt.

He sighed though at the cage once more, getting out of the car and opening the back door, carefully grabbing the cage.

“I need you to stay still okay…? It’ll be easier to pick up your cage that way.”

The boy nodded numbly, staying silent as he braced himself, grabbing onto either side of him on the bars so that he didn’t fall over.

Virgil felt very awkward as the Alpha did nothing in efforts to speak, just looking slumped and sad in that blasted cage.

But even if the Alpha was scared, he still picked up the cage carefully and brought it inside his home, placing it down gently on the ground.

Though that may have been an irrational mistake to do it that quickly and not let the Alpha be more aware of his surroundings first.

The Alpha was silent during the whole process except for small growls from the alpha whenever the omega moved the cage.

Virgil wanted the Alpha to trust him but that was pretty difficult when the alpha was for one, still in a cage. And two, saw that an Omega, a rank so much lower than an Alpha that normal Alpha’s could boss Virgil around on purpose and face no consequences.

But this Alpha…he wasn’t sure.

He wasn’t even sure what the Alpha was thinking…

“Look…” Virgil started, sighing as he sat down beside the cage, still being at a safe distance from it as he didn’t need to get bit-

The Alpha looked at him, looking like they were just about barely hiding the fact that they seemed terrified.

Virgil continued once the Alpha was paying attention to him, “I…wanted to help you get out okay?”

The Alpha looked away at those words.

This made the Omega sigh, propping up his body against the cage and getting onto his knees to look at him better.

“Are you hurt in any way?”

The Alpha rolled their eyes at him, “why do you care?? Aren’t you just going to be like the rest of those kings and queens or ‘ masters’ who try to turn me into a servant or someone to play your sick game???” They snapped, burying their face in their arms.

The Alpha’s ears then perked up as the lock on the cage unlocked, making him stare out into the living room of the person he was sold to.

An Omega…something so much belower his rank and still, the Omega was somehow his owner…his Master.

And he hated that with a burning passion, he had half the mind to put a claw mark right across the Omega’s face.

But, he wasn’t at his strongest position right now, and he would assume that the Omega knew that.

The Omega would probably retaliate, and the scariest thing was that he didn’t know if he could even fight back against him right now.

As…if the Omega had the meaning to buy him, then he must have thought of a way to discipline him if he got mad…

He sighed, not even moving to get out of the cage as he looked down.

“Just…tell me what you want.”

He didn’t know why the Omega seemed surprised by his words, after all didn’t they buy him to work for them or something??

He had only heard stories about what had happened to others who have been sold in this practice, and all the options were horrifying to think of.

He could either a, be worked so hard that his body eventually gives out.

B, be used as a way for the Omega to have a stress toy and be beaten.

Or C, the most, in his opinion, terrifying one.

Be forced to mate with the Omega and be marked by them, denying him any chance of escape or freedom.

After all, people, whenever they see a mark on an Alpha, always think that they must have willingly let their mate do that.

That it must have been consensual.

But…he knew of so many Alphas that have gotten marks from people that they never wanted them from.

He refused to end up as an obedient pet or object to someone so much below him.

So he basically just sat there in the cage and pouted, crossing his arms.

“I’m not getting out.” He growled, his ears pinned back in a look of dominance.

He had half expected the Omega to try and force him out but all they did was smile softly.

“Okay, you can stay in there if you want.”

Huh???

They were just going to leave him alone…?

Just…like that…?

With the cage open and allowing him to move freely…?

Why did they have that much faith in him that he wouldn’t just run away??

He could!

And he probably should if he didn’t want to be used for whatever purposes they bought him for!

But…

What if this one could be good…?

No! No, what was he thinking?!! This man literally bought him!

They probably specifically wanted an Alpha to tame and prove that they could dominate someone!

So why wasn’t he moving??

Why wasn’t he running out of his cage and bolting out of the door??

He should’ve been ready to fight for his life as soon as the Omega unlocked the cage!

He should’ve been ready to claw the Omega's eyes off but why didn’t he?!!

Why weren’t his instincts working normally???

He rolled his eyes as the Omega watched him slowly crawl out of his cage, basically kneeling on the carpet that was in the man’s living room.

He stayed bitterly silent, looking away from the Omega who was smiling softly at his movements.

“Great job!-“

“Shut it.” He growled, showing dominance even if this was the Omega’s house.

But, the Omega simply smiled, backing off.

“Okay then.”

Roman didn’t understand this Omega and he didn’t plan to spend time trying but, maybe being with this….owner would be the least of his problems.
