Logan was shaking. That was the most obvious sign of a problem, that Logan was clearly not doing okay. Virgil, having heard someone knock, had opened his bedroom door to his normally very calm and collected friend shaking like a leaf in a thunderstorm and looking around the hall anxiously, like he was horrified that someone would see him.
“L?” Virgil frowned. “What’s going on, man?”
Logan avoided eye contact with the anxious side and swallowed, trying to steady himself as he walked into the room. “Vir-Virgil, I’m- I apologize for the in-intrusion, I just- I needed to talk to-to you-”
“Woah, woah,” Virgil interrupted his friend, waving his hands a little. “Breathe Logan, breathe. What happened? Are you okay?”
Logan shook his head and wrung his hands together, rocking back and forth a little to ground himself. “No, no, I-I don’t think so, I-”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay L. Just… tell me what happened, ‘kay?” The emo frowned. He’d never seen Logan like this, ever. Of course, he was extremely concerned about the guy.
Logan nodded and took a deep breath. “Virgil, it… It happened.”
It took the anxious one a moment to process what his friend meant, but when he finally understood, his eyes widened. “Shit. Shit, God, uh, did he see it?”
Logan shook his head. “No, no, only, only Remus-”
Virgil’s Tempest Tongue reared its head in his anxious state. “ Remus saw?! ”
“Don’t yell at me right now! He was the reason it happened in the first place, Virgil!” Logan snapped at him, his eyes flashing orange once again. The stressed out side groaned in frustration and covered his ears with his hands, overwhelmed by what was happening.
Virgil sighed. “Okay, okay, I’m sorry L. But you’re sure Thomas didn’t see you?”
The logical side nodded, taking some deep breaths to calm himself down. “I’m… I’m sorry, I thought I could-”
“You thought you could handle Remus on your own and it didn’t end up going well for you?”
Logan nodded.
Virgil nodded as well. “I get it. I’m sorry again Logan. Just breathe, okay? You’re fine, Thomas doesn’t know, no one else except that fucking ass knows and I’m gonna make sure it stays that way.”
Logan chuckled softly and smiled weakly at the emo. “Thank you Virgil, but…” He pursed his lips and closed his eyes for a moment.
“But what? I can deal with Remus, I just need my baseball bat-”
That made Logan full-on laugh, if just for a moment. “No, I know you can deal with Remus physically, Virgil. I just…” His smile slowly faded. “I have to tell him eventually. I have to tell everyone eventually.”
Virgil frowned. “Not if you don’t-”
“I want to,” the logical side assured his anxious friend. “I just… I don’t know how they’ll deal with it.”
“Hey, don’t forget that I’ll be there to help you out, man.” Virgil reminded him.
Logan nodded. “I know.”
“And remember, you don’t have to tell them jack shit until you’re ready to.”
“Thank you, Virgil.” Logan smiled and sighed.
“I’m… happy to help.” The purple side smiled softly. “Are you good now?”
Logan nodded. “I think so.”
“Good, good.”
They were silent for a good twenty seconds before Logan spoke again.
“Would you like me to go? I’m sorry for interrupting whatever you might have been doing before I barged into your room.”
Virgil shook his head. “You don’t have to go if you don’t want to, I wasn’t doing anything.”
Logan nodded. “...I think I’ll stay here for a while.”
“Stay as long as you want.” Virgil smiled softly at his friend.
Logan smiled back at Virgil and exhaled, finally starting to fully calm down.
He’d have to tell the others, eventually. Of course he did. But he didn’t have to do it alone.
