Chapter Text
Eggman grumbled to himself in one of his many not-so-secret bases. He had this particular base rebuilt, after yet another explosion, for a specific reason. He really needs to start making his bases less susceptible to explosions. But none of that matters right now! The evil and ingenious Eggman was going to get his revenge once and for all!
Finally finishing up the debugging and fixing the program, the evil genius added the “secret ingredient” to his project. The computer went from showing the word “SKT” to the word “STAK”. The evil doctor chuckled to himself as he was certain adding this “ingredient” would be just what this project needed.
Dr. Eggman wheeled himself over to a large containment unit attached to the computer via cables. He looked down with evil glee at his newest creation. His last attempt may have failed, but this one will fix all that. This one will not only defeat Sonic but also bring the traitor SNT to her knees. It can’t possibly fail!
After waiting for a moment, the computer beeped. The evil experiment the doctor created was ready to be awakened. Eggman cackled maniacally as the container opened. The new creation’s eyes snapped open to show a brilliant dark emerald green color.
“Good morning my latest creation. You’re going to do wonderful things for me.” Eggman said manically and then laughed his signature evil laugh.
Meanwhile, SNT, Sonic, and the rest of their friends were all having a fun time together. They were in a big field nearby a forest which wasn’t too far away from Tails’ or Cream’s houses. They were all having a fun time racing, doing friendly competitions, and other types of picnic activities.
While SNT, Tails, and Cream had a flying competition; Sonic, Amy, and Shadow were watching at their picnic area. Sonic was bummed out he didn’t win the foot race. But he was happy that Shadow didn’t win either. Besides, something about when SNT won just made him feel all happy inside. So he wasn’t too bothered about it.
“Yeah! Go, little buddy! Show those girls what for!” Sonic cheered for his best friend, the two-tailed yellow-orange fox called Tails.
“No way, Sonic! Cream and SNT will definitely beat him! Let’s go you two! Girl power!” Amy cheered in response to what Sonic said.
Shadow huffed and crossed his arms. “Judging by the results of all the other games I was forced to participate in, SNT will most likely win.” The edgy hedgehog stated.
Sonic stuck his tongue out at Shadow. “You’re just salty that I beat you in our race.” He said cheekily.
Shadow gave him an annoyed look. “SNT beat us both while we tied, Sonic.” He corrected his blue rival.
“Yeah, she did,” Sonic said with a lovestruck face. Amy looked annoyed at that. The blue blur then shook his head. “I mean, whatever you want to say to help you sleep at night, Shadow.” He once again looked cheeky at Shadow, who in turn rolled his eyes.
In the air, SNT, Tails, and Cream all laughed as they were having fun with their race. The blue chimera was in the lead, but the other two weren’t far behind. SNT looked back at them with a cheeky look.
“Come on guys! You have so much more experience than me! You can do better than that!” She teased. Tails smirked at her in response.
“Don’t be too confident, SNT! I’m catching up with you!” The young genius fox responded.
“And I’m passing you!” Cream giggled as he flew past Tails.
“Hey!” Tails called out. He refocused and pushed himself to fly faster. He and Cream were now neck and neck behind SNT.
That’s when a pink aura surrounded the chimera. Her eyes shined with the same pink as well. Feminine whispers of ‘ special special special ’ were with the aura. Her rabbit and fox friends didn’t seem to notice it though. The two kids got distracted somehow and before they knew it, SNT had crossed the finish line and won.
SNT cheered in her victory and landed on the soft grass below. Tails and Cream joined her quickly and they all joined back with the three hedgehogs at the picnic area. Sonic stood up and cheered for SNT.
“Yeah! SNT! That’s my girl! You fly straight into my heart.” Sonic flirted but then was nudged hard by Amy. “I mean! You all did great. You all have improved your flight capabilities a lot and I’m proud.” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, hoping that saved him from Amy’s wrath.
Amy seemed to have accepted Sonic’s save attempt. But she still huffed and crossed her arms, looking away from SNT. “Of course, the special one wins again. I swear you just do it to impress Sonic. But… congratulations anyway, SNT.” She said with a slight blush.
“I agree. You each have performed well in that little competition,” Shadow added. A blush appeared on his cheeks as he looked at SNT, so he looked away.
SNT giggled. “Thanks, everyone. More importantly, it was a lot of fun! I’ve never had fun in a competition before. Everything was always just tests and training before,” She responded. She frowned at the memories from when she was under Eggman.
Sonic then wrapped an arm around the chimera with a smile. “Don’t worry about that SNT! You got all of us now! And that Egghead can’t do anything to hurt you anymore.” He attempted to cheer her up.
SNT looked at Sonic and then at the smiling, supportive looks of the rest of her friends. It made her feel a lot better seeing how good she has it now. Those days with Eggman are long gone. Nothing can stop her now!
“Shut up, Sonic. I hear something.” Shadow said suddenly. He was looking out towards the horizon behind SNT with a serious look.
“I wasn’t saying anything!” Sonic exclaimed.
“I said shut up. I hear… running. Fast running. And it’s heading right toward us.” Shadow then explained.
The tension around them all got serious after Shadow said that. Amy summoned her prized Piko Piko hammer in anticipation. Tails got out his custom blaster while Cream made sure Cheese the Chao was close to her. Shadow and Sonic both got into fighting stances, ready to run fast as they do.
SNT began to turn around to get ready for whatever was coming at them. The moment she did, a blue blur punched her and sent her flying past her friends. They all exclaimed her name in fear and surprise at the sudden attack. They looked back in shock at the sudden assailant who dared to lay a hand on their friend.
This new creature looked so much like their chimera friend. He was a much darker blue than SNT was. His bangs were swept more to the side and there were three points instead of two. He has the same twin fox tails as Tails. The peach color of his muzzle and stomach were a lot darker as well. He has short quills at his neck, the rest of his quills were pulled into a ponytail. But the quills in the ponytail were thinner, much more like an echidna. On his chest was a fluff of white fur in a rounded V shape. His gloves and boots both had spikes on them, as well as golden bands around the wrist/ankle area. Finally, his boots and ponytail were a very dark pink color and the boots had a white stripe going across horizontally. He glared with blazing dark emerald green eyes.
“How dare you touch my SNT!?” Sonic shouted.
“ Our SNT,” Shadow corrected, not liking Sonic to refer to the female chimera in that way.
“Our friend, SNT!” Amy corrected even more in her salty way with a glare at the boys.
The male chimera gave them a glaring look and then began to walk past them. “Hey, wait! Where do you think you’re going!?” Sonic yelled after him.
The male counterpart walked right up to the dazed female chimera. As she was finally coming to, from that hit, he put a foot on her chest to keep her pinned down. He glared with intense anger at her as he pulled back his fist. SNT had wide eyes and tried to pull his foot off of her but it was as if it was stuck to her. She couldn’t budge it.
The angry male chimera began to punch with all his force. SNT shut her eyes and covered her face with her arms to hopefully absorb the blow. When nothing happened she opened her eyes and saw Amy’s Piko Piko hammer in front of her face. The quiet boy’s punch hit the hammer instead of SNT’s face.
The male chimera looked angrily over at Amy. Amy glared back at him and shouted, “It’s rude to hit a lady, buddy!” She pulled back her hammer to be ready to hit him.
The assailant let out an “oof” as something hit him hard from behind. He fell on top of SNT, her face being nuzzled into his soft white chest fur. The female chimera’s face turned pink at what happened. But it wasn’t like that for long.
The male chimera growled and turned to look back at who did that. Sonic stood with a cocky grin. “I’ll let you in on the most important rule, pal! You mess with one friend, you mess with all of us!” The blue blur shouted.
“Sonic the hedgehog. I’ll make sure to bring your body back to Eggman!” The male chimera finally spoke. He quickly got up and rushed at Sonic, wrapping his arms around his body in a tackle. Masculine whispers of ‘ angst angst angst ’ along with a deep purple aura surrounded his body. His eyes shined with the same deep purple too.
“What was that?” SNT wondered. Did she just see something? “Wait a second. Eggman?! He’s another Eggman experiment!” She then realized. Amy offered her a hand to help her up and they were ready to fight. SNT didn’t notice the slight blush Amy had for a moment.
“Who the heck even are you?!” Sonic exclaimed as he was fighting off their new enemy. Shadow teleported to give the new guy a roundhouse kick to the head. But the male chimera teleported away himself and the black hedgehog ended up kicking Sonic instead.
“Ow! Hey, watch it!” The blue blur yelled as he rubbed his cheek.
“Oops,” Shadow replied in a nonchalant way and a shrug of his shoulders. He then smirked to himself. Sonic rolled his eyes as he saw that smirk.
“The name is STAK. And I’ll make sure you remember it!” The blue male chimera said as he appeared behind Sonic. He grabbed Sonic by the throat harshly before the hedgehog could turn around.
As STAK began to choke Sonic, Shadow attempted to punch the chimera’s face. But STAK kept dodging from side to side, using Sonic’s head as a shield of sorts. “Ack!” Sonic choked out in pain. Shadow growled in frustration and had a look like he was contemplating punching Sonic anyway just to get to STAK. Sonic in response had a scared look and shook his head as much as he could at his rival.
STAK’s back then arched and he yelled out in reflex. He turned his head to see Tails behind him, pointing his blaster arm at him with an angry look. The male chimera threw Sonic into Shadow, the former landing on top of the latter. They would have been embarrassed if they weren’t so busy at the moment. STAK then turned and began to stalk towards Tails menacingly.
Tails gulped slightly as he began shooting more and more at the angry dark blue chimera. He got more nervous as STAK kept marching forward, not even flinching at the hits from the blaster. When STAK got close enough, he grabbed Tails by the blaster on the fox’s arm.
“Uh-oh,” Tails uttered before STAK crushed the blaster and threw Tails into the air. The fox flew so far into the sky that he couldn’t be seen anymore.
“Oh no, Tails! Let’s go Cheese!” Cream exclaimed, immediately flying off to help Tails.
“Pathetic weakling,” STAK muttered as he glared at the spot in the sky he threw Tails at.
“You take that back! He’s my best buddy!” Sonic yelled angrily, but his voice was rough from being choked earlier. He ran at STAK, jumped, curled into a ball, and did his homing attack.
The enemy chimera was pushed back but it didn’t seem to phase him much. He didn’t act like he'd gotten hurt at all. The male experiment just seemed to get angrier. SNT saw his aura seemed to grow with his anger. As if his anger made him stronger somehow.
“What is that?” SNT wondered again. She then shook her head and got refocused. “Come on Amy! The boys need our help!”
Amy blushed slightly. “Right with you, SNT!” She grinned as she held her hammer.
The two girls then rushed over to the brawling boys. It looked like no matter what Shadow and Sonic did, it wasn’t phasing STAK. SNT flew up while Amy hit the male chimera with her hammer. SNT did a homing attack in the air to hit her counterpart back down to the ground. Still nothing, their enemy didn’t seem to be affected at all by any attack.
“What the heck is this guy made of?!” Amy exclaimed in frustration.
“I bet I have an idea,” SNT said as she landed with her arms crossed. “I wear it better though.” She added.
“We need to regroup,” Shadow stated as he and Sonic were trying to keep STAK pinned on the ground.
But then STAK surprised them yet again when he summoned a big hammer seemingly out of nowhere. This hammer was light blue in the middle and dark pink at the ends. One end was flat while the other was pointy. The male chimera swung the hammer hard, sending Sonic and Shadow flying. He was pissed as he got up and marched toward the two girls.
“Oh great! Now he’s a copycat! There’s only one hammer hedgehog around here, you creep!” Amy yelled and she swung her hammer at him.
STAK flipped his hammer around to the pointy side. He easily equaled Amy’s force with his own swing. As the two giant hammers collided, STAK’s pointy hammer end shattered Amy’s Piko Piko hammer.
“Noooooooooo!” Amy yelled out in shock and heartbreak. She bent down and clutched the pieces of her prized possession.
STAK made the hammer disappear and walked up to the crying pink hedgehog. “I’m not a copycat, girly. I’m an improvement.” He told her.
Amy glared up at the male chimera with the worst rage imaginable. The wrath of a scorned woman. The look in her bright green eyes made STAK a bit nervous. The only evidence of his fear though was a couple of beads of nervous sweat forming on his forehead.
“You just made a HUGE mistake.” The pink hedgehog said with a low, scary voice. STAK hid a gulp in response to her threat.
The dark blue chimera didn’t see SNT coming in with a hard punch. Just as he had done to her when this whole fight started. STAK was sent flying, hitting a big boulder with a bone-cracking sound.
“You’re right about that, Amy!” SNT said with a determined smirk towards her pink friend.
Amy blushed slightly and looked away. “I could have done that too.” She said. “But… thanks anyway.”
The evil chimera walked back to them. His anger and aura radiated so much that the girls could feel it. The two got into fighting stances. “Why?” STAK muttered.
“Huh?” SNT uttered as she didn’t quite hear him.
Her male counterpart didn’t respond until he was close to her. “Why?” He muttered still.
“What… What do you mean?” SNT asked in confusion. She didn’t dare relax her body in any way.
SNT was surprised by the sudden grab of her pink tank top by the male chimera. STAK lifted her up into the air. She clutched onto his arms, trying to pry them off of her.
“WHY?!” He yelled. “Why care for such pathetic beings?! Why, Traitor?! Why betray your creator?! Tell me!”
The special chimera looked down into her counterpart’s eyes. There was so much anger but also so much confusion. Like when someone finds out something for the first time that contradicts their entire life. SNT could see the purple shine of his aura beginning to fade from his eyes.
“Because…” SNT began to say gently. “They are my FRIENDS!” She yelled.
The light blue chimera then spun her body. She kicked STAK’s jaw hard as she flipped out of his grasp. His head snapped up painfully and he stumbled back. Amy stomped a foot on his chest to keep the chimera pinned. SNT landed next to her gracefully, they smiled at each other.
STAK was totally unconscious. His angst aura has faded completely. SNT looked down at him with a complicated mixture of feelings. But she would have to unbox that later as the rest of her friends all got back.
“I’m back! I’m ready! Where is he?” Tails exclaimed in slight fear as he had his fists up and was looking around for the enemy chimera.
“Calm down, Tails. SNT and I already took care of it.” Amy stated proudly. She gestured to the unconscious enemy below her boot. Tails let out a sigh of relief.
Sonic lifted Amy off of STAK and stood over him. He rapid-fired punches on the chimera’s unconscious face. “This is for picking a fight with us! This is for trying to kill me! This is for hurting my SNT! This is for following Eggman! And this is for-!” He yelled alongside his punches.
Sonic got cut off as Shadow grabbed hold of the arm he was about to punch with. “Sonic. It’s fine now. He’s unconscious. You can stop.” Shadow deadpanned. The blue blur grinned nervously and got off of STAK.
“So uh… What should we do now? Our enemies usually escape somehow, not get unconscious.” Sonic asked.
“Good point. He’s too dangerous to just leave here. And I would know about dangerous experiments.” Shadow said as he crossed his arms.
The light blue chimera then had a determined look on her face. She picked up the male chimera in her arms bridal style. “I’m taking him back to Eggman’s base. He’s not going to switch sides right now and it’s too cruel to just leave him here.” She told her friends.
“I hope he’ll be ok and come back to ask us to be friends. Wouldn’t that be nice?” Cream spoke up hopefully. SNT smiled at the young rabbit.
“Yeah, Cream. I hope so too.” She replied.
Amy crossed her arms. “Well, I don’t! He’s a creep and broke my Piko Piko hammer! If we do see him again, it better be to replace my hammer!” She exclaimed.
“We’ll see what happens with him. Who knows? He might be more like SNT than we think.” Shadow added.
Without any more hesitation, SNT took flight with the male chimera in her arms. She flew him all the way back to the Eggman base she knew all too well. It made her anxiety rise, but looking down at her counterpart refocused her.
When the female chimera landed, she laid STAK right by the entrance of the base. She looked down at him in sadness and placed a gentle hand on his cheek. He groaned in response to the touch but didn’t seem to have woken up.
“I hope you understand someday. Brother.” SNT said softly before flying back to her friends. The male chimera slightly opened his eyes right as she left.
Later, STAK was laying on a hospital-style bed, getting bandaged up by Dr. Eggman. There were tissues in his nose to help a nosebleed. There were bandages and braces around his torso and hand from where he broke bones. Of course, there were numerous bandaids and bruises all over him.
Eggman exclaimed, “You had one job! If you don’t defeat Sonic and SNT next time, you don’t want to know what will happen to you!”
The doctor complained as he fixed up STAK. He then let out a growl of frustration. “Grr! You were so close too!” He added.
“I swear to you, Doctor. I
will
destroy them. It’s personal now.” STAK declared to his creator. His eyes narrowed in pure hatred up at the ceiling. Even if what SNT said whispered in the back of his mind. He ignored it completely, along with the unbearable pain he was in.
