Scully’s laughter rang out in the quiet house when she entered their home. She giggled as she set her things on the small table near the door and bent down to pick up Daggoo.
The dog was covered in a white sheet with two holes cut out in the front so that he could see. A small brown paperbag was hanging from his mouth. Scully kissed his sheet-covered head before walking towards the kitchen where Mulder was cooking dinner.
“Mulder, what in Maurice and Lydia’s names did you do to the dog?” she asked as she entered the kitchen, Daggoo still being carried in her arms like a baby.
Mulder turned off the stove and turned to look at her with a proud smile on his face.
“Doesn’t he look cute?” he asked, pointing to Daggoo who was starting to get restless in Scully’s arms.
“Yeah, he does, but the question is why?”
“Well, I was looking through some stuff in the internet earlier and saw a photo of Clifford the Big Red Dog covered in a white sheet looking like a ghost when he was a puppy.” He said. The way he was so proud of himself made Scully snort with laughter.
“Clifford? Really, Mulder?” she remarked, and this time she let Daggoo down who scampered away, the white sheet still covering him. Mulder nodded, his smile still plastered. “Again, why?”
“Scullyyyyyyy,” Mulder groaned, but Scully just raised her eyebrows at him, clearly starting to get amused. “For Halloween, of course. I thought I’d try to dress him up or something.” He shrugged.
Scully laughed at that and walked towards him. She wrapped her arms around his neck when he was within reach and stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.
“The internet is not good for you, but I still love you even when you do the most ridiculous things to our dog.”
