Chapter 2: [ONLY] || Wonwoo
Summary:
A wintertime date with Wonwoo slightly based off of "ONLY" by Lee Hi
Notes:
Hi y'all! This is my first time properly posting on here! Hope you enjoy :)
Chapter Text
You recently met Wonwoo and the two of you agreed to go on a date at a restaurant near Han River. Deciding to meet each other outside of the establishment was a good idea...if it wasn't wintertime. You pulled your hat over your ears and hid your hands in your pockets as you walked towards the restaurant.
Squinting your eyes due the gust of wind hitting your face, you see a green coat in the short distance. Fully opening your eyes, you see Wonwoo looking in the other direction. You picked up the pace, calling out his name. He turns in your direction, waving to you with a smile. You wave back and returned his smile.
"Hi, I hope you weren't waiting too long." You said, feeling a pang of guilt at the possibility.
"Hi and I just got here maybe 5 minutes ago?" He responded. You let out a sigh of relief, happy that he wasn't waiting too long.
"Okay I'm glad! I was really worried for a second there." You said with a giggle, pretending to wipe your forehead. He chuckled and speaks up again.
"Now that everything is settled, shall we go inside and get away from the cold?" He asked, hand on the door handle.
"Oh yes please!" He then opened the door, allowing you to enter first. You quickly stepped inside, him following suit so no cold air gets in. The interior of the restaurant had a nice and cozy feel as piano music played softly in the background. The server leads the two of you to a table and hands both the menus. After placing your orders, you two make small talk in the meantime.
"So ____, what's your favorite hobby?" Wonwoo asked you. You pondered for a moment before the imaginary lightbulb above your head lit up.
"Right now I'm learning how to crochet!" You said with excitement. Wonwoo smiled at your enthusiasm.
"Really? How is it going so far?"
"I'm still getting used to the motions but I'm in the process of making a headband thing." You said while gesturing a wrap around motion around your head.
"That's great! Can I see it when it's finished?" He asked. Your eyes lit up in surprise
"Y-yeah okay...I'll send you a picture." You said, cheeks warming up in slight embarrassment. "Anyways, what is a hobby of yours?" You asked him, wanting the attention off from you.
"Hmm, I like reading and playing video games." You nodded along, then asking for both a book and video game recommendation. Wonwoo thinks to himself for a moment and tells you about the current book he is reading. Hearing him talk about the plot points and what he do to change parts that he didn't really like made you smile and it got wider with every word. He was about to talk about the video game but then the food arrived.
As you two ate, he was able to talk about the video game he's playing at the moment.
"Wait a second, so you get to be a cat in the game?" You asked in amusement. He nodded his head as his smile grew. Wonwoo then tells you about how cats are his favorite animal so he knew he had to try the game out for himself.
After finishing your meal and paying, you two somberly looked outside the windows of the restaurant.
"Do we really have to go outside?" You asked with a frown.
"Unless the owners will let us spend the night here, we have to go home." Wonwoo said while putting on his coat. You let out a sigh before putting on your coat as well. You muttered how the owners seemed nice enough to let you two stay, to which brought a hearty laugh out of Wonwoo. Hearing him laugh made you laugh as well and you two left the restaurant with big grins on your faces.
Once outside, Wonwoo asked if you were down to go for a quick walk along the river before going home. Wanting to spend more time with him, you agreed immediately. As you two walked, you saw someone busking. As you got closer, you were heard the beginning notes of ONLY by Lee Hi.
"Oh I love this song!" You said after realizing what song it was.
"I didn't know you were a fan of Lee Hi." Wonwoo said with a smile.
"There's a lot of things you still don't know about me yet." You said extending your hand out to him. "Care to dance?"
The two of you danced as the busker sang the song. You tried your best to match Wonwoo, him being a better dancer than you. The two of you danced all the way through the end of the song. You both were surprised when after the song was over, you were met with applause. Looking around, you saw that you drew in a small crowd. You two looked at each other before bowing awkwardly. Wonwoo put money in the busker's pot and grabbed your hand, rushing out of the area.
You no longer felt cold as you were warm from both dancing now running but also from him holding your hand. Unfortunately, the night was coming to an end as you two lived in different directions. He stayed with you as you both waited for your bus to arrive.
"I had a really great time tonight Wonwoo." You said with a small smile.
"I did too _____. I hope we can go on another date soon." Your ears perked up at the proposition of another date.
"I would love to go on another date." He grinned at your response. He saw your bus was coming so he wished you goodbye, asking you to text him when you get home. You promised him, pulling him into a hug before stepping on the bus. Sitting down, you looked out the window and waved at Wonwoo as the bus drove off. Once he was no longer in sight, you leaned your head against the window and let out a sigh.
You think that maybe, just maybe, Wonwoo could be your only one.
Chapter 3: [Background Music] || Jihoon
Chapter Text
Ever since you and Jihoon bought your house, it was only silent when the two of you were asleep. Not in the negative sense of loud noise and rowdyness, however that will apply when you host parties. On the day to day when it's just you two, music fills the house.
Different instruments started to show up in various parts of the house. A grand piano in the living room, an acoustic guitar by the patio door, and a drumset in the basement. Everyday was something different with him.
Overtime you've come to realize that each instrument serves a different purpose for your lover. If he's feeling frustrated, he'll come home and after greeting you he'll make his way down to the basement and play the drums until all of his anger is gone. The first time you saw him come home with furrowed eyebrows and a frown, you figured something was wrong. He still greeted you with a dry 'hey baby I'm home' and rushed downstairs.
Following a few paces behind him, you sat on the steps as he sat on the stool and looked at the drums infront of him. Sticks in hand, he took a deep breath before going to town playing the drums. You watched in amusement as he played his frustration out. He kept going to the point where his drumsticks snapped in half. Your eyes widen as you watched them snap and the room becomes quiet, Jihoon's breathing being the only sounds heard.
"Good thing I have a bag full of drumsticks, right ____?" He asked jokingly, looking over at you. You flinched when he said your name. You were surprised that he knew you were there watching everything unfold.
"How did you know I was here?" You asked in confusion.
"The stairs creak remember?" He replied, in turn asking you a question. You slightly shifted in your seated position and truth be told, a creak sound was heard.
"I forgot about that to be honest." You muttered, scratching the back of your neck. Your lover chuckled as he stood up from the stool, throwing the broken drumsticks in the garbage. He makes his way up the stairs, stopping on one where you two would be eye level with one another.
"I'm guessing the drumming made you feel better?" You asked with a quirk of the eyebrow. He nodded and let out a sigh.
"It really did. Also, sorry for not greeting you properly." He said, apologizing with a deep kiss. Pulling away from the kiss when you needed to breathe, you asked him if he wanted to talk about what made him upset in the first place. He summed up that deadlines were creeping up and it felt like it was all eyes on him. Reassuring him the best way you can, you told him that he shouldn't be afraid to ask for help or maybe even an extension. He smiled at your advice, thanking you. Helping you stand up, you two left the basement and got dinner going in the kitchen.
The acoustic guitar by the patio door was for the chill days at home and the weather is nice. You two would sit out back, watching the sunset together. You sit next to him and sway as he plays a melody that comes to mind or a song that he recently learned. You've grown to love watching sunsets because you never know what kind of song you and the sun will be serenaded with as it sets for the day. Most of the time he'll just play on the guitar but sometimes he'll softly sing a sweet song.
The grand piano in the living room is a new addition to the instrument collection. You've noticed that he plays the piano when he's in a romantic or a sentimental mood. Sometimes trying to find the words can be hard for him, so he expresses his love for you through his piano playing.
Today, Jihoon came home before you and something came over him as he stared at the piano. He headed to the kitchen and started to cook one of your favorite meals for dinner. When he saw that you would be home in the next few minutes, he rushed to change his clothes, donning a black button up shirt with matching black slacks. When you arrived home and unlocked the door, you let out a heavy sigh as you stepped inside. Locking the door and leaning against, you take a deep breath and you smell something cooking. Coming to the realization that your lover is home, you take off your jacket and shoes, putting on your slippers and headed towards the kitchen.
Jihoon was placing the plates down on the dining table when you see him. You let out a gasp as you take in what's in front of you. You looked down at the table and saw one of your favorites was prepared along with candles lit up in the center. Your eyes trailed up and see Jihoon in his attire and you swore that you fell in love with him all over again. Seeing him all dressed up made you look down at your clothes, feeling undressed.
"Jihoon...what's all this for? I didn't miss an anniversary, did I?" You asked, worried that you missed a special date. He quickly shook his head no, reassuring you that you didn't miss anything.
"I just...I don't know. Something came over me when I got home and I realized that I don't really show you how much I love you enough." He said, making his way over to you and holding your hands.
"Ji...this is so sweet. Thank you so much." You said, feeling your eyes starting to water. He cooed at you and cupped your cheeks, the action immediately making tears fall. He softly wipes your tears, pressing a kiss on each cheek.
"I feel under dressed." You said with a sniffle.
"You look good in anything, darling." You feel your cheeks heat up, softly thanking him for the compliment. He pulls out your chair and pushes it in place after you sit down. Before he sits down, he pours you two a glass of your favorite drink. Once seated, you two clinked glasses and ate dinner. You told him how work went today, going in depth about your boss's orders. Jihoon then told you about his day and you two laughed at his funny story involving the other members.
After finishing your meal and placing the dishes in the sink, you were going to wash them when he stopped you. The two of you didn't say a word but your eyes had the conversation. Coming to the conclusion that he won't let you do it, you move away from the sink. He smiles and tells you that he'll do it after he shows you something. You let him take you by the hand and lead you to the piano.
"Sweetie, I've seen the piano already. It's been here for a bit of time now." You said, confused as to why he brought you over.
"I know, but I've never serenaded you with it yet...until tonight." He said, hoisting you in top of the piano. You watched as he sat down and played the most beautiful melody you've ever heard. You weren't sure if he was playing on a whim or if he composed this beforehand but regardless, you felt overwhelmed by his love and it made your heary swell.
"That was wonderful, darling. Is this something you're working on?" He shook his head no.
"No...just something from the heart, that's all." You leaned down and gave him a kiss, getting off the piano and getting ready for bed. You had a big smile on your face for the duration of the night and anytime you made eye contact with your lover, you couldn't help but let out giggles. You knew that Jihoon had his own ways of showing affection but you were always surprised by what he comes up with to show you how much he loves you.
Chapter 4: [Ghostbusters: The Re-Up] || Jungkook
Notes:
Thanks to my friend for giving their wip idea!!
Chapter Text
'Get in the ghost hunting business,' they said. 'It'll be fun,' they said. Last time you checked, being covered in gross green substance was not fun.
"You're paying for dry cleaning." You said to Jungkook, fuming as you walked over to the ghost mobile.
"But I paid last time." Jungkook whined, trailing behind you.
"This is what you get for convincing me to join this business." You said with a huff.
You see, you and Jungkook just so happened to be in the area where the actual ghostbusters were doing their thing but this ghost was very powerful. They were on the verge of the defeat when they asked you two to grab the extra zappers from their trunk. Exchanging a look between yourselves and the ghost, you both shrugged and followed instructions. The six of you were able to defeat the ghost and save the city.
People were so grateful for yours and Jungkook's additional help, that you two were awarded with the key of the city. The original crew were there as well and without anyone's knowledge, announced that you and Jungkook would be taking over the business as they will be retiring. Your heads whipped around at them as you two then awkwardly smiled for the cameras. Once the event is over, you all get in the car and sit in silence for a moment.
"So NONE of you were gonna tell ____ and I that we accidentally signed our rights away?" Jungkook asked them incredulously.
"We never told you we were going to retire?" One of them asked, to which you both quickly shook your head.
"Huh, well anyways you two will do just fine." They said, shrugging their shoulders.
"No we won't! We just happened to be there when you needed the extra help and that's what we did. Us helping out ONCE DOES NOT EQUAL COMMITMEMT!" You exclaimed, Jungkook pulling you into his side to calm you down.
"Alright, I think we can all admit that we weren't clear with you two and for that we're sorry. However, someone has to continue the business." Another person said.
"We'll do it." Jungkook said firmly. You pulled yourself up from his side, looking at him crazy.
"WE?! Who's we?" You said in distress.
"Come on ___, it'll be fun! We dressed as them for Halloween once before." Jungkook said with a smile, trying his best to convince you.
"WHEN WE WERE FIVE," you exclaimed and as you saw Jungkook's mouth start to open you quickly cut him off by saying, "AND DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO SAY THIS IS SOME SORT OF MANIFESTATION." His mouth quickly closed, lips forming a straight line.
"I'll get them to come around, trust me." Jungkook said, reassuring the original crew. You leaned back in your seat, simmering in your anger. They dropped you both off at Jungkook's house and once they drove off into the distance, he tried all the tricks in the book to convince you.
"We already have the key to the city, we're practically famous already." You said as you walked into his house after taking off your shoes.
"Okay but we can be more famous. Think about the future ____."
"What future? The one where we need to call a priest to perform an exorcism on me?"
"I mean if this ghost is mean like that then maybe." You rolled your eyes as you got comfortable on the couch.
"Jungkook, tell me honestly, why do you want to do this so badly?"
"We won't have to do customer service or boring office jobs plus if we happen to break stuff while ghostbusting, the city will pay for it."
"Okay but are we going to get paid? I'm not busting ghosts for free."
"The city pays for everything." You slightly jump at the new voice but you see Jungkook has one of the guys on the phone.
"So when you say everything, that means us too?" You asked them.
"Yup." You hear four voices say. You let out a heavy sigh before slowly nodding your head.
"Alright fine I'll do it. It's not like I had much of a choice anyway." You said in defeat. Everyone else cheered while you dealt with Jungkook jumping and down in front of you. You bit back a smile as he sang the theme song in joy.
Next thing you know, the iconic jumpsuit became your new uniform as you two answered the calls of civilians in need of ghost busting help. The first call came in and they said that there was a ghost causing havoc in their store.
"I guess this ghost got expensive taste." You said before stepping inside, Jungkook right behind you. You see the ghost flying around haphazardly, knocking things down in the process. The two of you rev up your blasters and the ghost stops for a moment, staring at you two.
"The old guys called it quits, huh?" The ghost said in a chilling voice.
"Your shopping spree is over ghost." Jungkook said, aiming the blaster at it.
"Oh really? But I was just getting started." The ghost said in a fake sad tone, before lunging at him. Not reacting quick enough, the ghost was able to get Jungkook and hold him high in the air.
"____ I swear if this ghost tries to swallow me whole, you're paying for my therapy." Jungkook said to you, squirming in the air.
"Ew Jungkook, don't give him any ideas. Also I will not be paying for your therapy." You cringed.
"Or threaten me with a good time." The ghost said, laughing maniacally. Quickly grabbing Jungkook's blaster that he dropped when he got picked up, you aimed both blasters and zapped the ghost. This was a strong ghost because it was putting up a good fight. After a few minutes, the ghost got sucked into one of the machines and Jungkook fell to the floor. Locking the suction from the blasters, you rushed over to Jungkook.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Do we need to bring you to the hospital?" You asked all at once. Jungkook sat up and stretched his body, saying he felt fine with a shrug of his shoulders.
"But you practically fell from the ceiling?"
"Eh, I've fallen from a higher level before." He said nonchalantly before standing up and checking on everyone in the store. You stood there in silence, wondering how he could have possibly fallen from a higher place.
"____, we gotta go! There's a ghost in the town square." Jungkook exclaimed, catching your attention. You waved goodbye to everyone as they thanked you for coming to their rescue. As he drove you two to the town square, you look at the window with a sigh.
"What's with the sigh?" Jungkook asked you.
"Oh nothing, just realizing that we'll be living a crazy life for the rest of our years." You said with a smile.
"And there's no one I'd rather be doing this with." He said, patting your thigh as he couldn't look at you. Sure this wasn't exactly what you pictured your future would look like, but life sure as its curveballs. Regardless, it's good because you'll have Jungkook by your side for the ride.
Chapter 5: [Butcher's Special] || Hongjoong
Chapter Text
When you first moved into your new apartment, you asked your neighbor if there was a butcher shop in the area. Their eyes went wide in horror, making you widen your eyes as well in fear.
"Oh, there is, but I wouldn't go there if I were you. One of the butcher's sons that is taking over is mean." You gasped at the revelation.
"Mean?" You asked, and then they nodded furiously.
"Yeah, he's always glaring at customers and giving them an attitude." You frowned, hoping they were just exaggerating.
"So my best bet is either not going at all or going when the parents are there?" Your neighbor nodded in agreement.
"Or you go when the older brother is there. He's nicer than his little brother by a long shot." You made a mental note in your mind, thanking your neighbor. They then gave you the address, and you went your separate ways.
You've been stalling for weeks, but you knew that you needed to get your cuts of meat. You took a deep breath before venturing out to the butcher shop. After getting off the bus, you stand across the shop, staring inside. Rolling your shoulders back with a sigh, you cross the street and head inside the shop. The bell above the door signaled your entrance into the shop, and you nervously looked around as you walked further inside.
"What are you looking for?" You heard a chilling voice ask you, and you immediately concluded that the one you were avoiding was going to be the one helping you out. You slowly look up and see the man of the hour staring at you blankly. The blankness on his face made a chill run up your spine as you quickly shook your head, forcing yourself to have a conversation.
"Uh...t-bone steak and bacon?" You asked, unsure of yourself. You knew exactly what you wanted to get, but you were so intimidated by him. You look back up at him, and you could've sworn you see a tiny bit of a smile, but he went back to a straight face.
"Anything else?" He asked you, to which you shook your head no. You watch as he grabbed your selections and put them on the scale. He wrapped up your steaks first, and when it came to wrapping up the bacon, you watched as he added more strips. Your eyes widen in panic, wondering if he was gonna charge you extra. Then again, you didn't ask for extra bacon, so maybe it'll be free.
"Is that all?" The man asked, and you shyly nodded your head. He told you the price, and as you fished out your card from your wallet, he started to strike up conversation.
"Are you new in town? I've never seen you before?" You paused to look up at him, kind of surprised that he started a conversation with you.
"Y-yeah, I just moved here a month ago or so."
"So you might have heard some things about me then? Is that why you've been looking so nervous and scared this whole time?" You slightly frowned, nodding your head in shame.
"Yeah...and I know I'm not supposed to really take other people's opinions about a person literal but I've been told you had an attitude with customers and I don't handle that kind of stuff well." You finished with a pout, feeling bad about the nervousness.
"I'm not the best with first impressions." The man said, scratching the back of his neck.
"Also, I'm only mean if people are mean first." He said, defending himself.
"Oh, you get those 'the customer is always right' kind of people coming in here?" You asked, and the man scoffed with a smile on his face. You smiled, immediately thinking that he was a pretty smile.
"Hongjoong? Is that a smile I see? Oh my, the pigs are going to start taking flight." You turn around and see an elderly customer walk in.
"You've seen me smile before." Hongjoong said to them.
"Yes, when you were a little kid running around the shop. Now, are either of your parents here?" They asked him. He called out for his father as he turned his attention back to you.
"Not much of a smiley person, huh?" You asked him to which he rolled his eyes playfully.
"I only smile when it's appropriate." He said with a shrug.
"Saving it for special moments, noted. I'm glad I got to see it though, you have a nice smile." You complimented.
"I already gave you free extra bacon. There's no need to flatter me anymore." He said with a wave of his hand.
"Does the offer roll over to my next trip here then?" You asked with a quirk of an eyebrow. He pretends to do calculations in his head before giving you a firm nod.
"For you, it will." He said shyly. You lowered your head to hide your smile, not seeing Hongjoong smile at your action. His father and the customer that came in after you are watching the interaction in amusement, not expecting Hongjoong to be like this with anyone.
"I'll be sure to come back and redeem that offer of yours then, Hongjoong." You said, finally paying for the meat. He bags it for you and hands it to you.
"If I'm not out front, don't be afraid to ask for me." He said with a small smile. You returned the smile as you waved goodbye to everyone. You were about to leave when he called for your attention.
"Wait!" You stopped at the sound of his voice, turning around.
"What's your name?" He asked you. In that moment, it had occurred to you that he was unaware of your name.
"I'm ____." You replied to him, going back to shake his hand.
"Welcome to the neighborhood ____. Hopefully you like it here." He said, shaking your hand in his.
"So far I do." You said with a smile, causing him to smile. You exchanged goodbyes one more time before you went back home. He watched as you walked across the street to catch the bus, and his father watched his youngest son with a knowing smirk.
When you get on the bus and sit down, you let out a sigh as you watch the shop get smaller and smaller as the bus drives off. You couldn't fight the smile that would make its way on your face whenever you thought of Hongjoong's smile. You thought about telling your neighbor that he's a nice guy after all, but you quickly shake off the thought, knowing that it would fall on deaf ears. All you can do now was enjoy your selections and thinking about what you need for your next visit.
Chapter 6: [Another World] || Open Choice
Notes:
Based off of the song "Another World" by The Vamps
Chapter Text
You and your lover's relationship was never met positively amongst other people. When you introduced them to your family and friends, they weren't the most accepting. You were hoping for better odds when it was the other way around, but it was the exact same reactions.
It felt like everyone were eyeing you two whenever you were together at family events and group outings, waiting for you two to leave so they can freely talk negatively about the two of you. The comments were getting to the both of you, and you both unfortunately decided to end the relationship. You brought up the idea of staying friends, and they quickly agreed, not wanting to get rid of you out of their life.
For days, you were glued to your bed, not wanting to leave or interact with anyone. You didn't even tell anyone in your personal life because you knew that they would rub salt into the wound and celebrate the end of your romance. By the end of the week, you felt like there were no more tears left to cry, so you went for a walk for some much needed fresh air. You browse through the different shops in town, eyes lighting up at an item that reminded you of them. The smile that sits on your face turns into a frown as you remember that they aren't yours anymore. Putting the item done, you would leave the store, not wanting to cry any tears in public.
You rushed out of the last store when you bumped into someone. Profusely apologizing, you make eye contact with the person and freeze. The other person freezes as well, and the two of you just stare at each other. You gasp as you realize that you bumped into your former lover.
"____..." They said softly.
"Hi..." You said, matching their tone.
"How, how have you been?" They asked you.
"Oh, you know, hanging in there. How are you?" You said, not truly sharing your current feelings.
"Same, going one day at a time." They replied, and the both of you nodded your heads.
"Did you tell your family about..." They then asked you, to which you shook your head no.
"No...I know they'll just add more insult to injury." You said with a sigh.
"Yeah, I haven't told my people yet either for the same reason." They said with a sigh.
"Oh! I just remembered, did you ever hear back from that interview that you did?" They asked you, not wanting the conversation to end.
"Ugh, no. But you know how weird they are with communication." You replied, rolling your eyes at the thought. They groaned, also fed up with the interview process for the job you applied for.
"That's very true, but you'll get it. I know you will." They said with a smile. You smiled back at them, feeling the same old butterflies for the first time in a little while.
"Thank you, I hope I get it. How has work been?" You asked them.
"Oh, you know, having me work like a busy bee." They said, imitating the buzzing sound of a bee. You giggled at the action, and they chuckled too.
"As always, but you better be taking care of yourself." You said, jabbing your finger into their shoulder. They winced, jokingly whining that you're hurting them.
"I do take care of myself, just so you know." They said smugly, and you put your hands up in defense.
"Alright, if you say so." You both laughed and a comfortable silence fell over. The two of you stood there, not saying a word until your phone rang. You pull out your phone and you look down at the contact, immediately letting out a groan of annoyance.
"Parents?" They asked you. You shook your head, showing them the contact name. After reading who is calling you, they also groaned, knowing how long a phone call with this person can go.
"Yikes, good luck, babe. I MEAN, friend. I mean, ___?" They said in a scramble, unsure of how to address you properly. They put a hand over their mouth in embarrassment. You couldn't respond out of shock, so you just nodded your head.
"I-I'm gonna go take this...so, um, l-let me know whe you get home." You stuttered. They quickly nodded their head, and you both ran off in opposite directions, not looking back due to the awkward encounter. You spoke with the person who called for your whole journey home and even longer once you stepped inside. The sun was setting by the time you hung up. Letting out a loud sigh, you text your former lover that you arrived home hours ago, but the phone call just going on and on.
Moments later, the phone rang again, and you were praying that it wasn't the same person calling back to add more details to their never-ending story. You let out a sigh of relief as you saw your ex's contact came up.
"Oh, how glad I am that it's you and not you know who." You said happily.
"You've never been this happy to talk to me on the phone." They said in a teasing tone.
"Don't you start with me, you know I'm always happy to talk to you. I'm assuming you made it home safely?" You asked, and they let out a hum in agreement.
"I did, yes. It was really great seeing you today." They suddenly confessed. A big smile grew on your face, ears getting warmer.
"It was really good seeing you too." You responded.
"Can I be honest?" They asked you. You hummed in agreement, and they let out a sigh.
"I know that we broke up because of everyone else, but I wish we didn't. Ever since we did, I've been having a hard time falling asleep. Every time I close my eyes, it's like you're still there with me. I truly believe that in another world, another universe that we would be perfect. We already were, it's just the people in our lives who were so unaccepting of us. Nothing would tear us apart there because it would be just the two of us. The stars would even light the way for us in this other world. I truly didn't want to let you go, _____." They passionately expressed, hearing them getting choked up. You were also on the verge of tears at their confession.
"You still have me in the palm of your hands, I hope you know that. You'll never lose me. Not now, not then, not ever." You finished with a sniffle. The two of you cried over the phone, mad at yourselves for letting people get in the way of your relationship.
"So let's go back to the way things were. Be us again, even if it means moving to another world like I mentioned." They said.
"Let's be us again."
Chapter 7: [The Very First Kiss] || Mark
Notes:
Based on the love letter written by Alex Turner to Alexa Chung.
Chapter Text
People always say to treasure your firsts. Mark may have gotten kissed before, but none of them have left him hypnotized like his first kiss with you. Your first kiss with him was during a silly little game of spin the bottle, but he was put in a trance from that moment on. Whenever he looks at you, he has a dreamy look in his eyes. It's almost as if he's daydreaming about you even though you're right in front of him.
You've noticed that whenever you two would hang out, he would talk a lot more. He would ramble, words going for miles and miles. Even his friends have told you that he only acts like that with you.
"I don't know what you did to him, but you're all he thinks about." His friend told you one day when Mark stepped out of the room.
"There's no way that's true." You said dismissively, not believing what you're hearing.
"No, it's true. You don't see the way he looks at you, but I do, and he's lovestruck." The friend affirmed. You let out a heavy sigh, trying your best to process the information.
"Assuming you're correct, do you think he'll ever tell me?" You asked them. They pondered for a moment before shrugging their shoulders.
"It's really 50/50 to be honest. He might keep it to himself, or he'll be so overwhelmed by his feelings that he will have no choice but to spill." They responded. When Mark came back, his friend was quick to make up an excuse to leave.
"Hey um, this has been fun and all, but my mom needs me to come pick her up." They said abruptly. You and Mark exchanged looks before saying goodbye to his friend. As the three of you were over at Mark's place, Mark went to lock the door after his friend left. Making his way back over to you, he sat down with a sigh.
"What's with the sigh? Are you tired?" You asked him, turning your body to face him. He shook his head no, eyes falling on your lips. The action didn't go unnoticed by you and it caused you to look at his lips for a quick moment.
"I'm not tired, just thinking about some stuff." He said, finally looking in your eyes.
"Some stuff like what?" You asked curiously, tilting your head to the side.
"You." He said calmly, causing your eyes to widen in shock.
"Me?" You asked in disbelief.
"My mouth hasn't shut up since you kissed it." Mark confessed.
"Oh?"
"Yeah. I know it was a while ago, but every day I've been hoping to kiss you again." He said, sitting up straighter.
"You want to kiss me again? Do you like me Mark?" You asked him, shuffling your body closer to his.
"I absolutely do, and I thank the heavens for that night we played spin the bottle. If we never played, I would have never known what a true love's kiss is supposed to feel like."
"True love's kiss?" Your heart was racing as you repeated that part of his confession. He nodded and leaned closer to you.
"Yes, I always liked you, but it's safe to say that I fell in love with you that day." He expressed honestly. You leaned closer too, your eyes falling on his lips again.
"Well, do you want to make your dreams come true? You asked in a flirty tone, hinting to him your intentions.
"Do you actually want to kiss me, ____? Don't just do this to fulfill me." He said in a hushed tone.
"It'll fulfill the both of us actually, so yes. I really do want to kiss you, Mark. I truly do." You confessed. He looked at your lips one last time before closing the gap, getting the kiss that he had been craving since that one fateful night.
Chapter 8: [If I Was Your Man] || Chan
Notes:
Based on the song "If I Was Your Man" by The Vamps
Chapter Text
Chan was your neighbor from across the hall and your best friend. Not exactly across the hall, but his door and your door are facing each other. You two knew whenever the other person left or came back home. Recently, you have been going on some dates with a potential lover, and Chan knows everything about this person. He knows things that you have told him and has come to conclusions based on what he can hear through his front door.
"I don't know why you're still going on dates with this person." Chan said to you. Currently, he was in your room helping you get ready for yet another date. He couldn't understand why you kept going back to them, considering that you would frown whenever they texted you.
"We had a good time while we're out." You said, looking through your closet.
"But they're so not worthy to be with you." He said, causing you to stop and turn to look at him.
"Then who is?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Me." Chan said smugly. You groaned with a sigh.
"Chan..."
"Think about it, _____. Every time you say you're going on a date with them, it's never one on one. You two only have a good time whenever you have company around." You lean against the wall next to your closet, processing what he said.
"The first date was just us two." You said dismissively.
"For maybe...20 minutes? Then, it magically turned into a group date." Chan replied, jogging your memory.
"I'm glad to know that you really do listen to me, but this was not the way I was hoping to find out." You said, not really enjoying the recounting of events.
"Hey, I bet I'm a better listener than they are." He said, putting his hands up in defense. You rolled your eyes as you went back to look in your closet.
"I also think I could satisfy you better, if you know what I mean." You froze in place, slowly turning your head with wide eyes.
"Chan!" You exclaimed with a gasp.
"I didn't specify how I'll satisfy you." He said with a slight smirk.
"Okay, but I can hear the innuendo in your voice." You said, quickly grabbing clothing items and rushing to the bathroom.
"And the neighbors will sure be hearing us if you give me a chance."
"CHAN!" You yelled, closing the bathroom door behind you. You heard his loud laughter as you looked at yourself in the mirror in disbelief.
"He can't be serious..." You muttered to yourself, not believing any of this. Shaking off the incoming thoughts, you focused on getting ready for your date.
After getting ready, you walk back to your room and see that Chan is no longer there. You thought to yourself that maybe he's in the kitchen or living room, and just as you suspected, he was looking through your cupboards.
"Are you looking for snacks again? You still owe me a new box from your last raid." You asked him as you watched him pull out his snack of choice. He turned around and let out a low whistle, eyes looking up and down.
"I was, but I see a better one right in front of me."
"You flirting with me isn't going to get you out of this, you know that right?" You asked him with a quirk of an eyebrow. He stared for a brief moment before shrugging his shoulders.
"Eh, it was worth a shot. I still meant what I said though." He said, casually eating the snack as you stood in place with a shocked expression.
"Anyways, while I do love having you here as a guest, I should get going now." You said, walking to grab your keys and Chan is right behind you.
"I could stay here." Your expression was blank as he looked at you with a hint of hope in his eyes.
"Your apartment is less than 5 feet away, Chan."
"Maybe I just like your place better than mine." He said defensively. You rolled your eyes at him before ushering him out.
"Well, learn to love yours in the meantime." You said, locking your door.
"Don't forget-" Chan started to say but you quickly interrupted him.
"If I ever need to be rescued from the date, call you immediately, and you'll be on your way as soon as possible." You cut him off, repeating the phrase he's been saying to you before every date you've gone on.
"You really do listen to me." He patted your head before going inside his apartment.
Throughout the date, you couldn't help but think about Chan has said to you. You really did try to focus on the person infront of you but your mind just kept going back to Chan. Truth be told, you did always find him attractive, but you never tried anything because you never got the impression that he had any feelings for you. By the end of the date, the two of you agreed that you were better off as friends and went your separate ways home.
You came back from the date when you saw Chan sitting in the hallway in front of his door.
"Chan, what are you doing out here? Did you lock yourself out again?"
"Not this time, surprisingly." He chuckled dryly. You stood there puzzled, not sure as to why he's sitting there intentionally.
"So what brings you out in the hallway then?" You asked, crouching down to sit in front of your door.
"Just wanted to make sure you made it home safe, that's all." He said, but you knew that he wasn't telling the whole truth.
"That's the only reason, Chan? Nothing else?" You asked him, looking in his eyes. He felt your gaze, but he kept his eyes averted as he spoke.
"Well, there might be another reason."
"And that might be?" You asked him, and you see the tips of his ears slightly turn red.
"To convince you one last time."
"You really want to be my man, Chan?"
"More than anything. " You heard the honesty in his voice.
"Then be my man, Chan." You said with a smile. His head whipped around quickly, looking at you with wide eyes.
"For real?" You nodded your head, smile growing wider.
"I thought about everything you said today and it gave me the confirmation that I needed."
"Confirmation that you needed?" He asked, repeating the last part of your confession.
"You were always attractive to me, Chan. I just wasn't sure if you saw me the same way or not."
"So you mean to tell me that we could have been dating forever ago?" Chan asked you in disbelief.
"It appears that way, yes."
"Well, alright. I'll be your man. I'll be the best one and the only one for the rest of your life."
"Promise?"
"Pinky swear." He said, holding out his pinky finger. You reached over and linked yours with his. You look up from looking at your hands to see him staring at your lips. Something must have came over you in that moment because you started to lean in for a kiss and he quickly met you halfway. Pulling away from the kiss, you two smiled at each other and helped each other get up from off the ground.
"But seriously, are you really locked out because I have your spare key."
"Yeah...can you open my door, please?" He asked shyly.
"I KNEW IT." You unlocked your door, quickly grabbing his spare key and unlocking his door for him.
"What would you do without me, Chan?" You teasingly asked him with a smile.
"Not survive, that's what. Goodnight ____." He said, sneaking a quick kiss on your cheek before going inside. You felt your cheeks get warmer as you wished him goodnight through the door and headed inside your place. You had a smile on your face for the rest of the night as you felt very happy that Chan was finally your boyfriend.
Chapter 9: [Surprise Fan Meeting] || Yoojung
Notes:
This is my first time writing for a member of onlyoneof so hopefully you like it!!
Chapter Text
You were currently in the United States doing some field work. Despite the long distance, you and your boyfriend, Yoojung, have been talking to each other whenever you can. Every day, you keep each other up to date with everything that is going on. One day, he called you right when you woke up as it was nighttime for him.
"Hello?" You responded, voice laced with sleepiness.
"Did I wake you up?" Yoojung asked you, hearing the difference in your voice.
"No, I was already opening my eyes when the phone rang." You replied, letting out a yawn.
"Your eyes are starting to droop again, aren't they?" He asked, sensing that you are fighting the urge to go to sleep again.
"If I say no, would you believe me?"
"Not in the slighest." He replied, resulting in a groan from you.
"You know me too well." You said, shaking your head. You put your phone on speaker so you can stretch and do your morning routine.
"Of course I do, babe. I know everything about you because I love you." He confessed. You stopped making your bed to put a hand over your heart.
"Starting my morning by buttering me up, what gives?" You asked him, suspicious of this sudden affection.
"I can't tell you I love you just because I can?"
"You can, but whenever you do it out of the blue like this, it means you have to tell me something."
"You see, just as well as I know you, you know me very well too."
"Of course I do, babe. I know everything about you because I love you." You said, copying his statement.
"Are you making fun of me?!" He asked loudly. You shrugged your shoulders even though he can't see you.
"Possibly, you know it's one of my favorite pastimes." You said with a giggle.
"Unfortunately so. You really need a new hobby." He said with a sigh, which made you laugh loudly.
"I think I'll pass one is very fun. But anyways, is everything okay with you?" You asked, changing the topic.
"Yeah, I'm good. I'm just packing, though." He said, making you stop in your tracks.
"Packing? I thought you only had schedules at home?"
"I thought so too, but apparently, there's going to be a surprise fan meeting going on."
"That's strange. That gives no one time to gather funds or for you guys to pack. Do you even know where this meeting is going to be?"
"Nope." He said with a pop of the p.
"That's so backwards, hello?" You said in disbelief.
"It's very weird, yes. We're not even sure how we're supposed to pack, so we are packing bits of each season."
"This is so crazy. When is your flight?" You asked him.
"In the morning." He said calmy.
"IN THE MORNING?" You repeated loudly.
"Unfortunately so. That's why I called you so you are aware. I won't be able to talk for who knows how long, but I'll let you know when and where I land."
"Yes, please do. I can't believe they pulled such a stunt on everyone like this."
"Neither can I, but hey, we'll be able to travel somewhere, at least."
"That's true. Hopefully, you'll have to explore the city and stuff."
"I hope so too. I don't mean to cut our time short, but I really should head to bed if I want to have some rest for the morning." He said, not really wanting to end the call.
"Oh yeah, of course. Sleep well, sweetheart. Keep me posted."
"Will do. Have a good day." He said. You two explained your love you's and then hung up. You went on the rest of the day, wondering where his company would be sending the group for this surprise event.
What you didn't know that this whole thing was a surprise to come and see you! Yoojung knew that you've been missing him, and he couldn't let you sit there and continue to be sad. He tried to give you very vague updates so you wouldn't catch on to the plan. Luckily, he was successful in doing so because you didn't suspect a thing.
You were in the middle of making yourself lunch when you heard his ringtone. Stopping your task, you rushed to answer the phone.
"Did you land?"
"Not even an 'hello, how are you?' Just rushing into the questions." He said. Even though you can't see him, you can practically see him shaking his head.
"My apologies, let me try again. Hello, how are you? Did you land?" You said sarcastically.
"Now that's better. If you must know, ____, I'm okay, and I did land."
"Thank goodness. Now, where did they send you guys off to?"
"About that, um, they sent me by myself first."
"Why would they do that?" You asked him when you heard your doorbell ring. "Oh wait, hold on, stay on the phone. Someone is at the door." You said to him, walking to look through the peephole. When you look through it, you let out a gasp.
"What's with the gasp?" You heard him ask you through the door and over the phone. You try and unlock the door as quickly as you can, nearly dropping your phone in the process. Finally getting to open, you are met with your gorgeous boyfriend on the other side of it.
"Yoojung?!"
"In the flesh." He said, doing a little spin. He then opened up his arms, and you ran into them, giving him a big hug. You two stayed like that for a few minutes before you pulled away to look at him.
"I thought you had a fan meeting?" You asked him after the shock wore off.
"Are you not a fan of me?" He asked you back.
"The biggest." You said with a cheesy grin. You ushered him inside and told him you were in the middle of making lunch, and he said he would take over. You resisted as he was probably jet lagged, but he kept on insisting.
"Okay, how about you let me finish lunch, and then you can be in charge of dinner?" You asked, trying to come up with a compromise.
"Hmm, you got yourself a deal." He said, holding his hand for you to shake, and you two shake on it. You spent the rest of the day catching up and giving each much needed affection as you have to make up for lost time.
Chapter 10: [European Getaway] || Seonghwa
Notes:
Based on the video of Seonghwa's cover for "Angel Baby" by Troye Sivan.
Chapter Text
You were tagging along with your boyfriend, Seonghwa, to the European leg of their tour. Although this was work for him, you were taking every opportunity to treat this like it was a vacation (which it was).
"Going on vacation, I'm going on vacation." You said in a singy songy voice, doing a little dance as you walk alongside Seonghwa. He watched as he wheeled your suitcase with a lovestruck grin, enjoying your amusement.
"You seem more excited about being in Europe than being with me." Seonghwa teased.
"Oh, don't be like that. I'm excited to be here with you...in Europe." You said, pinching his cheek.
"I feel so loved." He said, rolling his eyes and biting back a smile.
"You should! I love you very much!" You said with glee, knowing that he said it sarcastically. He stopped walking, which caused you to stop as well and turn to look at him. You stared at him in confusion as he didn't say a word.
"Seonghwa?" You said his name, waiting for him to respond. He remains silent as he does a heart with his hands, blowing you a kiss through the open space. He continued to walk as if nothing had happened, leaving you stunned. You remained frozen in your spot when he came back to pull you out of your trance.
"Hello? Earth to ____?" He asked, waving his hand in front of your face. The motion caused you to flinch and blink repeatedly, coming back to consciousness.
"Huh, I'm here." You said, looking at him.
"I must have amazed you so much that you froze. Looks like I still got it." He said smugly, brushing off his shoulders. It was your turn to roll your eyes, and you then walked away from him.
"Sure, Hwa, you still got it." You said while shaking your head.
From there, Seonghwa started to list the different places that he wanted to visit with you. Some of these places he's been before from the last time he was in Europe and other places would be his first time going.
One thing you loved about Seonghwa was that he always asks you for your opinion and gauges your reaction. You might not be aware of all of the loving stares that you receive as you absorb the new scenery, but he looks at you with love in his eyes. For example, while you were in the town square, the wind was blowing just right, and the sun was shining brightly. The sun glowed against your skin, and Seonghwa swore that you stepped out of a painting.
"Seonghwa, look at the birds!" You said cheerfully, pointing at the group of birds with a smile on your face. Your boyfriend, however, paid no mind to the birds. His eyes remained on your frame as you looked at the group of birds. Pulling out his phone, he snaps some candid photos of you. After you've had your fun, you turn to look at him and see the phone pointed at you.
"Were you taking pictures of me? Did you get my good side?" You asked him, starting to pose for him. Every pose was captured perfectly, Seonghwa going above and beyond to make sure the pictures looked right. Once the impromptu photo shoot was over, he showed you the pictures.
"All of these came out so great! You really do know my good side." You said, pretending to wipe away a tear.
"All of your sides are good." He said with a wink, causing to roll your eyes with blushed cheeks.
"Sure, now it's your turn!" You said, wanting to take the attention away from you. Taking out your phone, you instruct Seonghwa on where to stand. You gave him compliments with each pose, making him feel embarrassed over time and getting him to laugh.
The trip was amazing, and you were so glad that you were able to spend this time with Seonghwa. On the last night, you two went out on a late night stroll.
"I'm glad I was able to come here with you guys." You confessed.
"I've been wanting you to come on tour with us forever, but I'm happy it finally happened."
"Hopefully, I get to go on more and see more places or come back here. Who knows?" You ended with a shrug.
"Only time will tell." He said, matching your shrug.
"It does get lonely when you're not there." You stated as you two stopped to look out across the water. He turned his head to look at you, and your eyes locked forward, not wanting to make contact.
"_____....look at me." Seonghwa said softly. You slowly turned your gaze to look at him, and he reached out to hold your hands. You held his hands, and you waited for him to speak.
"If it were truly up to me, I would have you coming with us everywhere. We should still treasure the moments with have together, just like right now. No matter how far I end up going, I'll always go home back to you and only you." You pouted as you felt your eyes water at his proclamation. The second his hands cup your cheeks, the tears fell down as he quickly wiped them away.
"I love you so much, Seonghwa. I really do." You said with some sniffles.
"I love you so much as well, my love. More than you love me."
"That's not right because my love for you is higher."
"Impossible." You two looked at each other with a glare before bursting into a fit of giggles. You shared a kiss and walked back to the hotel hand and hand. This trip was a great experience, and you were both leaving Europe stronger than ever as a couple.
Chapter 11: [What Am I?] || Shownu
Notes:
Based on the song "What Am I?" by Mahalia
Chapter Text
It's hard to describe what you and Shownu have going on. He's not your boyfriend, but he isn't exactly your friend either. You two certainly aren't acquaintances, so there's no real label for what you two are yet. Whenever either of you are asked about the other, you both have the same response: "It's complicated."
It wasn't really complicated for Shownu because he knew he liked you. It was you who was making it hard for the both of you. You were starting to like Shownu, but you were unsure of what way. All you knew was that you wanted him to remain in your life in some sort of way.
"You can't keep doing this to him, _____." Your friend said to you.
"I'm not doing anything to him." You said defensively.
"You're stringing him along for something that might not even have an end result. You need to get it together before he takes his exit because he will do it."
"I don't appreciate this pressure coming from you." You said, glaring at them. They shrugged before responding.
"Shownu is a good man, so don't mess this up for yourself." They said, pointing their finger at you.
After that conversation with your friend, you thought about what they said over and over again for days on end. One day, your thoughts were interrupted when your phone rang. Looking down at your phone, you saw that it was the man of the hour calling. You quickly answered the phone, not wanting it to ring for too long.
"Hey Shownu! What's up?" You said, trying to mask your current feelings in your tone.
"I was just getting lunch by that one place near you, and I was wondering if you wanted me to grab anything for you while I'm here?"
"Oh, um, sure. Can you get a sandwich or something?"
"Sure, what do you want in it?" After telling him what you want in it, he told you that he'll drop it off at your house, but you told him instead that you'll meet him there at the store.
"I don't mind bringing it over, you know that, right?"
"I know that, but I need some fresh air."
"The weather is nice so we can eat at the park across the street."
"Sounds great! Give me like 5 minutes!" Exchanging goodbyes, you quickly changed into outside clothes and spritzed on some perfume. Grabbing your keys and putting on your shoes, you left your place and headed towards Shownu. On your short walk, you thought about what your friend said again. You were going to figure out what you want him to be in your life today, and you were certain of it.
By the time you arrived, Shownu was waiting for you outside of the store. He had two bags in his hand, one for him and one for him. You walked over to him with a smile, and he returned the smile.
"That was quick! I thought you'd still be inside." You said to him once you were in front of him.
"I thought so too, but they were fast this time around." He replied, handing your bag to you.
"For once, thank you, by the way." You rolled your eyes with a smile.
You two then crossed over to the park and found a picnic table to eat on. As you two ate, you caught up with one another. After eating, your phone rang, and you excused yourself to take the call. Shownu watched your frame from the distance and let out a sigh.
"You know, sometimes I wonder what I mean to you." Shownu muttered to himself.
"Did you say something?" You asked him as you were sitting back down, and he shook his head no.
"Oh no, just thinking to myself."
"About?" You asked him out of curiosity, and he was silent for a minute, trying to figure out an answer.
"If I checked my mail before I left the house, nothing major."
"You got a package you're waiting on or something?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"No, I just don't want it to pile up." He said with a shrug.
"Well, if you don't really need to rush home, I was thinking we can watch that one movie you were telling me about?" You asked him, hoping he would say yes.
He agreed and was now at your house for the impromptu movie night, and you were cuddled up into his side. While your eyes were focused on the screen, he looked down at your frame. He found himself smiling, enjoying the feeling of you being next to him like this. The smile then turned into a frown as he realized he wasn't yours and you weren't his officially.
"What am I?" He asked you out of the blue.
"What do you mean?" You asked, turning to look at him.
"You know exactly what I mean, ____."
"I'm not following." You replied, making Shownu roll his eyes with a sigh.
"What do you want me to be in your life? Because you're not making it clear with what you want us to be."
"I want you in my life."
"As WHAT?" Shownu exclaimed, tired of the unknown.
"I don't know!"
"I can't tell you what you want. You have to figure out that for yourself."
"I know that, Shownu. I know."
"Then why is it so hard? What is stopping you from making a choice?" He asked, fed up with your answers.
"_____. You have to tell me right here, right now what you want me as in your life before I leave it altogether." Silence filled the space, and you looked everywhere but at him. Realizing that he would not be getting an answer anytime soon, he got up from his seat and started to walk towards the door.
"I think you got it figured out, ____. So I'll be gone." He left your house without another word, not even looking at you one last time. You got up and locked the door, staring at it. You watched Shownu walk out of your life, but your feet were planted on the floor. This is exactly what your friend warned you about, and you still let it self-destruct. You were sure that he wouldn't get you a second chance, so all you can do now is wallow in sadness and hope to get things right with the next person.
Chapter 12: [Lover's Special] || Yeonjun
Chapter Text
"______, ______, _____!" Your best friend, Yeonjun, exclaimed when he met up with you at the mall.
"Yeonjun, Yeonjun, Yeonjun!" You exclaimed back, copying the number of times he called your name.
"You know that bakery ran by that sweet eldery couple?"
"Of course I do. They love me." You said, dusting off your shoulders. He rolled his eyes before continuing.
"Anyways, they are having a lover's special in honor of the wedding anniversary coming up!" He said excitedly.
"And this is big news because?" You asked, not seeing the excitement behind the news.
"Because it's free dessert! Hello, ____, work with me here." He said dramatically.
"Yeonjun. How exactly do you get this special?" You asked, crossing your arms over your chest.
"Easy! If you bring your significant other, you get dessert!" Yeonjun explained, smiling wide. You, on the other hand, had a frown in your face.
"But how would they know you're telling the truth?" You asked, unsure of how it'll work.
"That I'm not sure, but they'll believe us."
"US?!" You exclaimed a little too loudly, causing a few people to turn around to look at you two.
"Don't be so loud." He whispered.
"Well, it's not my fault you're trying to rope me into deception." You whispered back.
"You don't have much of a choice because I told them we're a couple, and they're excited to see us soon." You stared at him wide-eyed, mouth agape in shock.
"Yeonjun, you little-"
"Genius? Yes ___, I have quite the brains if I do say so myself." He replied smugly, causing you to roll your eyes.
"Yeonjun, my dearesr best friend, the things I do for you. I should start charging you for putting me through stuff like this."
"I'm paying you with free dessert, now let's go." He said, pulling your hand and leading the way out of the mall.
"I still need to buy the thing I actually here for, remember?!" You said, pulling him backward.
"Oh...right." Yeonjun said, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"You're so greedy." You said with a sigh, leading him in the direction of the shop you needed to enter by the pull of his hand.
As you browsed through the store, Yeonjun would go on and on about the dessert. He was getting more and more impatient the longer you two were in the store. He was starting to bounce on his feet when you two were waiting on the line to purchase. Once the transaction was complete, he practically dragged you out of the store and the mall.
"Yeonjun, did you tell them that we were coming TODAY? What's the rush?" You asked, trying to get him to slow down. You came to an abrupt stop, nearly colliding into his back.
"The promotion starts today, and of course, I told them we were coming today. How else would I have found out about it?" Yeonjun said, turning to look at you as you reach
"Hmm, I don't know. Maybe by LOOKING AT THE POSTER OUT FRONT?!" You exclaimed, pointing at the very poster that explains the deal. Yeonjun follows your pointing and sees the poster in question. He goes closer to it, reading the poster and letting out a 'mhmm' sound.
"I see that you are right. However, I still had to tell them so they would believe it."
"Don't they already think we are?" You asked, recalling the last time you two went in there together.
"They do?" He asked in surprise, to which you nodded.
"Yes, the lady was saying how we remind her of her and her husband at our age." You recalled.
"Huh, so I really didn't need to say anything then."
"Nope." You said, putting emphasis in the 'p' sound. The two of you stood outside the bakery in silence, wondering what would happen next. Yeonjun, still determined to get his free dessert, takes your hand and walks inside the bakery.
"Hello!" He said with a wave and a smile. You awkwardly waved behind him with a smile.
"Oh, you two came!" The wife said cheerfully.
"I told you we would. Isn't that right, honey?" Yeonjun said, looking over at you. Your eyes went wide for a second before nodding your head quickly.
"That's right, babe. When Yeonjun told me that you two were celebrating your anniversary, we rushed over here to wish you two congratulations on the many years of marriage!" You said with a bright smile, saying hello to the husband as he came out from the back.
"Ah, ____ and Yeonjun! My favorite customers!" The husband greeted you two with a warm smile.
"I bet you say that to all the customers." Yeonjun teased.
"You got me there, but truthfully, you two are the actual favorites."
"That's so sweet. You two are our favorite bakers and couple goals!" You complimented, causing the married couple to smile widely and look at each other lovingly.
"Now I know you two are here for the special, but is there anything else you want? You can get a third dessert on the house." You and Yeonjun looked at each other in shock before looking down at the case. Without missing a beat, you both pointed at the same dessert.
"I can't believe we picked the same one!" You expressed.
"We know each other so well, that's why." Yeonjun stated. The couple got your dessert order ready and handed it over for you to take home.
"Thank you so much!" You said thankfully.
"If you need us to bake your wedding cake, just give us a call." The wife said, waving you two goodbye.
"Oh-" You started to say before being cut off by Yeonjun.
"Will do! Have a good day and happy anniversary!" Yeonjun said, pulling you out of the store before you can say anything else.
"WEDDING CAKE?!" You said loudly once you two were away from the bakery.
"Yes, wedding cake. Now come on, let's go eat our free dessert." He said, walking in the direction of his place. You rolled your eyes before following him.
"You better be driving me home after all this."
"Of course."
You two spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying the dessert and each other's company. As crazy as Yeonjun can be sometimes, you wouldn't mind being pulled into a scheme if it came with a sweet rewards afterwards.
Chapter 13: [Love & Lanterns ] || Yunho
Chapter Text
Tangled is one of your favorite movies, and ever since it came out, you've been wanting to go to a lantern festival. They take place yearly, but they're always in a location that is hours away from you, and you didn't have the funds to travel. You were hoping that just once, the festival would be in your area, but until then, you live vicariously through the film.
When you had your first movie night with your boyfriend, Yunho, you begged him to let you have the first pick.
"Yunho, you've got to understand. This is a cinematic MASTERPIECE!" You emphasized.
"You say that about a lot of things." Yunho said.
"Okay, but this is S tier masterpiece level."
"Alright, if you say so. Put it on." He said, handing over the remote to you. You let out a squeal as you put it on and immediately cuddled into Yunho's side. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you closer to him. He found himself smiling from time to time hearing you repeat quotes or singing along to the songs. When your favorite scene came up, you sat up straight and told him to pay attention.
"Make sure you watch this scene. It's my favorite one, and it's the best one in the movie, but of course, I'm being biased here."
Your eyes sparkled with delight as you watched all the lanterns light up the sky in the film. Your expression matched Rapunzel's as you both watched the lanterns and the various patterns decorated on them. Much like the film, Yunho's expression matched Flynn's as they both looked at their loves with adoration.
"Ever since the first time I saw this movie, I've been wanting to experience a lantern festival." You said, eyes still on the screen.
"Have you gone to one yet?" Yunho asked you, to which you shook your head no.
"No, every year it's somewhere too far, and I don't have that kind of money to just drop everything and go. I just wish for once, just once, that I'll be able to light my own and see the sky full of lanterns." You finished with a sigh. Yunho frowned at your statement, feeling sad that you never got to go to a festival like that.
When the movie ended, you turned to him excitedly, curious about his thoughts.
"So...what did you think?" You asked with a grin.
"You were maybe, JUST MAYBE, right about it being a masterpiece." He replied with a smile. You got up from the couch, doing a victory dance.
"I told you so, Yunho! I have great taste when it comes to movies." You said as you celebrated in the living room. Yunho rolled his eyes before standing up.
"Yeah, yeah, you told me so. Can I join in on the dancing, at least?" He asked. You stopped your movements to think before shrugging.
"Are you asking for a dance battle? Because I got moves for days." You challenged.
"Oh, do you now? Let's see 'em then." Yunho said, accepting the challenge. You two spent the rest of the evening having your dance battle, but in the back of Yunho's mind, he knew what his next mission would be starting tomorrow morning.
That next morning, Yunho looked all over online to see if there were any festivals that were in the area, but all the ones he would see would take place in other countries. He looked at your shared calendar and saw that you both would have free time around the time of an upcoming festival and the lightbulb above his head lit up. He quickly got to work getting the arrangements, and once everything was paid for and confirmed, he figured out how to tell you about this surprise.
A week before your surprise trip, you were looking forward towards to having the time off and spending time with Yunho.
"Yunho! Since we're going to have time off at the same time, what do you want to do? It's been a while since we went out for a date night. Not that I don't enjoy staying in, but like, yeah." You finished off by awkwardly clasping your hands together.
"That's very true. It has been a while since we've been out for a date. I actually have something in mind for us." Your ears perked up at the news.
"You do? What is it? Is it fun?" You asked one after the other.
"I definitely think it'll be fun, especially for you." He said with a smile as he walked away to go get the surprise announcement.
"For me?" You asked curiously. You stood there confused as he came back with something behind his back. He gives you a plushy of Pascal, Rapunzel's chameleon, and you look at it with a mix of joy and confusion.
"Are we going to the zoo?" You asked, not understanding the gift.
"Not the zoo, but we are traveling."
"But where else would we see a chameleon?"
"_____, we're not going to the zoo. We're going out of the country for the lantern festival." Your eyes went wide as you nearly dropped the toy.
"No, we're not." You said while shaking your head, not wanting to believe him.
"Yes, we are, baby. So we have the week to start packing because we're going to see those lanterns and light one up." Your eyes started to tear up, your dream finally coming true thanks to the help of your wonderful boyfriend. You ran into his arms and gave him a big hug. He lifted you up, and you gave him multiple kisses across his face.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" You said cheerfully, thanking him immensely.
"It's no problem, love. What my baby wants, they get."
"You spoil me too much." You said as he put you back down.
"I don't spoil you enough, now come on, let's start packing." You spent the rest of the week counting down the days for the trip and packing your bags.
When you arrived in the new country, you were bouncing with excitement as the festival was going to take place that night. Once the sun was starting to set, you dragged Yunho out of the hotel, and he led the way to the open field where it would take place. You were filled with glee throughout the entire experience, and Yunho couldn't help but look at you with love in his eyes.
You wrote yours and Yunho's name in the middle of a heart and he lit up the lantern. Sending it up into the sky, you quickly pulled out your phone and took pictures and videos of the lit up sky and it felt like you were Rapunzel in that moment. You felt great that you got to experience this your Flynn Rider by your side and your heart is happy that you finally got to do the main thing you've been wanting to do for years.
Chapter 14: [Insomnia Cookies ] || Myungjun
Chapter Text
Midnight snacks: the reason behind your lack of sleep. Well, also because you might be an insomniac, but that's not important right now. What's important is that you are in your kitchen past midnight trying to make cookies. Your boyfriend, Myungjin, had an evening practice, and he returned home to you, mixing the batter instead of being in bed.
"What are you doing awake?" He asked you in surprise. You looked between him and the mixing bowl in your arms.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" You asked back at him. He let out a sigh, pinching his nose bridge.
"Let me rephrase that question. WHY are you doing what you're doing?"
"Because I'm hungry and I want a snack." You responded casually, going back to mixing the batter.
"Why can't you eat ice cream like the rest of us?" He said, stepping into the kitchen.
"Because we don't have any ice cream."
"Yes, we do." He said, opening the freezer door and showing you the container.
"No, YOU have ice cream." You said as you got the baking tray out.
"Do you not like that flavor?" He asked you, and you quickly shook your head no with a disgusted expression.
"Absolutely not." You replied, using the very ice scream scooper to scoop the batter into the baking tray.
"Well, carry on then." Your boyfriend said, leaving you in the kitchen to get ready for bed. Some time later, Myungjin came back into the kitchen and sat at the island.
"Are you here to supervise or because you want some cookies?" You asked as you looked up from the timer.
"Yes." He responded. You crossed your arms and shook your head.
"I don't need supervision, but I'll put some cookies aside for you." You said as you walked to sit down next to him.
"But anyways, how was practice today?"
"Exhausting, but it'll be worth it at the end since it's award show season."
"Are you doing a medley or just one song?"
"It's a secret." He said, putting a finger to his lips. You looked at him in offense, hand over your heart.
"Do I not get special significant other privileges?" You asked. He thought about it for a moment, making you slap his arm in disbelief.
"You will when those cookies are done...AND after you apologize for hitting me." He said, holding his arm after your slap.
"Can the cookies be the apology?" You asked, batting your eyelashes at him.
"Nope." He replied, resulting in you letting out a groan.
"Fine... I'm sorry for hitting you even though you won't give me my rightfully deserved privileges until you get cookies."
"I guess I can accept your apology." He said, nodding his head as you look at him in shock.
"YOU GUESS?" You exclaimed loudly, making Myungjin quickly put his hand over your mouth.
"____, not so loud! People are trying to sleep."
"That hasn't stopped you from watching a comedy at this hour." You said as you removed his hand from your mouth.
"You know I love a good laugh." He said defensively.
"Yeah, and you don't need to love them during sleepy time." You responded, getting up at the sound of the timer going off. You turn off the timer and the oven, putting on the mitt to pull the cookies out of the oven. Myungjun rushed over to get a whiff of the freshly baked cookies.
"They smell so good! The apartment will smell so nice!"
"Who needs to buy candles when I can just bake sweet treats." You said with a smile. Your boyfriend gave you a funny look, but you waved your finger at him, not wanting to hear it.
"If you know what's good for you, don't say what you're gonna say." You threatened as you got a container to place the cookies in.
"I won't say anything." He said as he reached for a cookie.
"Didn't you brush your teeth already?"
"Not yet, but I will after this cookie." He said, taking a bite. He let out a hum of contentment, enjoying the cookie.
"This is good. Try one." You take a cookie from the tray and bite into it, nodding your head in agreement.
"I really popped off on these." You said, doing a mini victory dance.
"I'll give you that. These are really good. You should open your own bakery that runs during the late night hours." Your boyfriend suggested.
"Hmm, I could do that, but I would be too tired to do so."
"You don't get much sleep at this time, so you could do it." He explained, you letting out a sigh as he wasn't wrong.
"True... maybe I could."
"Whether you do or not, just know I'll always enjoy your baking. No matter what time of day it is." He said, giving you a kiss on the lips. The kiss was sweet, just like him... and the cookie, of course. Having to deal with midnight cravings are annoying, but it's good when you have someone to share the snacks with.
Chapter 15: [Summer Love] || Hoseok
Notes:
Based off of the song "Summer Love" by One Direction
Chapter Text
You were a camp counselor at the camp you used to go to every summer as a kid. You always enjoyed time at this camp, and you made sure that the campers got to have the same experience that you did, if not better. This year, however, was different compared to all the times you've been a counselor. Usually, new counselors come and go, so it's not surprising to see new faces only for that summer.
Hoseok was a new counselor, but something about him felt so familiar, so safe. He quickly became a favorite amongst the campers. His laugh and smile were truly infectious. By the end of the camp season, he has received a friendship from every camper. You couldn't help but admire his character and develop a crush on him.
"Do we really have to go back to school?"
"Yeah, I don't wanna go back to school." Two campers complained to you.
"I know kids but think about it: you'll be able to see your school friends again!" You said excitedly, trying to make the kids not feel sad about the summer ending. Their eyes lit up at the news, feeling excited to see their friends again.
"I'm gonna tell them all about what we did at camp!"
"I'll bring our friendship bracelets to show and tell!" The other said excitedly, causing you to smile.
"That's the spirit! Now, have a good school year! You said, opening your arms up for a hug. The two campers immediately ran into your arms, giving you the biggest hug they could muster.
"Bye _____! See you next summer!"
"You will be here, right?"
"You already know I will." You said with a grin.
"Do you know if counselor Hobi will be coming back next year, too?" You flinched in surprise at the question, and also at the fact that they called Hoseok by a nickname.
"Um, I'm not too sure, actually. Hopefully, he does! I know all of the campers love him so I'll ask him for you all."
"Please do. You two are our favorites." You couldn't help the blush creeping up as you thanked them.
"I'll do my best to convince him if he tries to leave. Now go on, don't keep your parents waiting." You said, waving them goodbye. They waved you goodbye before giving each other a hug and heading towards their respective cars. You hugged and waved goodbye to all of the kids, and it was just the counselors and camp director left on the camp grounds.
"Okay, everyone, great work this summer. Now let's do one last sweep. Everyone check your respective cabins and come back here to receive your pay." All of the counselors leave together, making small talk and saying goodbye in case anyone leaves before the others. You and Hoseok go to your cabins together since they were right next to each other and talked on the route there.
"So, how was your first summer as camp counselor?" You asked him.
"It was great! I didn't expect the kids to like me right away."
"Have you met yourself, Hoseok?" You asked in shock, making him shrug.
"I do every day, ____."
"Good, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise. You easily became a favorite for everyone."
"Even you?" He asked you, stopping to look at you. You copied his actions, responding by nodding your head.
"Especially me." You said with a shy smile. He smiled at you, and your smile got wider because of it.
"I'm glad the feeling is mutual." Your eyes widen at the revelation.
"Mutual as in being your favorite?"
"Is there more than just being your favorite counselor?" He asked back, getting closer to you.
"If I'm being honest, yes. I may have developed a crush on you over the summer."
"Then we're absolutely feeling mutual. However, I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think we can pursue anything romantic." He confessed, making you frown.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm not from here, so I'm going back home."
"So you were just visiting for the summer and got a job to support yourself?" You asked him, resulting in a nod from him.
"And I absolutely loved every second of this job. Well, especially for the mosquitoes."
"Oh yeah, those little demons are horrible." You said, making him let out a loud laugh. You started to walk again, heading towards your cabin with him right behind you.
"Does it upset you?"
"It does a bit, but I understand. It was nice to have you as a summer love, though." You said, looking over your shoulder with a smile.
"Likewise." He said, returning your smile.
You two got to work cleaning and checking for any lost items in your cabin before heading over to his. After cleaning and checking his, you two slowly walked back to where the camp director was.
"We'll always stay in touch, right?" You asked him.
"Of course, just don't forget what we had this summer."
"How could I possibly forget you?"
"Don't make this any harder than it is, ____."
"I'm just telling you the truth. You're truly one of a kind." You expressed, swallowing the lump down your throat.
"Don't start crying or else I'll start crying..." He said, fighting back tears, which made you start to cry. You stood in the middle of the camp grounds, embracing each other as tears streamed down your faces.
"I'll see you again one day." He whispered.
"I'll be waiting for you." You whispered back.
"I'm going to make sure I come back to work next summer." He declared with certainty in his voice.
"You really want to come back?" You asked, pulling away from the hug.
"You and the campers are the best things that happened to me this summer, and it truly made it one of the best summers I ever had."
"I'm glad we all made such a huge impact on your life like that." You said. Time slowed down for a moment as he kissed you. You kissed him back, conveying whatever leftover emotions that were left unsaid into it.
"So I'll see you next summer?"
"Absolutely, see you next summer, my love."
Chapter 16: [Halloween Movie Marathon] || Beomgyu
Chapter Text
Halloween is yours and Beomgyu's favorite holiday. Considering there are 31 days in October, you two decided to watch different Halloween and/or horror movies each day. Tonight, you two were going to watch "The Nightmare Before Christmas," and you were very excited as it is one of your favorite movies to watch during the season.
As the movie played, Beomgyu brought up a great question.
"Is this movie a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie?" He asked you.
"Yes." You answered immediately, causing his head to whip around towards you.
"You've thought about this before, huh?" He asked, surprised by how sudden your answer was.
"Perhaps." You said with a wink, looking back at the TV screen.
"Go ahead then, explain your case." He said, reaching to pause the movie. Your eyes lit up as you fully turn your body to face him.
"Okay, so think about it. This is probably one of the only holiday movies where you can watch across different holidays. They count down the days until Halloween. There's the literal song,'This is Halloween' in the soundtrack. The Christmas stuff is kinda obvious, so yeah. Basically, we can watch this movie until Christmas Eve." You explained with ease, showing that you have had this discussion before.
"What about Christmas day?" He asked.
"Gyu... it's nightmare BEFORE Christmas, not ON Christmas." You said, looking at him incredulously. He fought the urge to roll his eyes at you as he unpaused the movie.
"I should have seen that one coming."
"You really should have. I mean, the title literally answered your question." Your additional comment made Beomgyu unsuccessful in fighting his urge to roll his eyes. He rolled them with a groan as you giggled at his annoyance.
"You make me sick sometimes." He said with no malice in his voice.
"Oh please, you love it. You're just as bad as me, so we're meant to be." You said, leaning over and puckering up your lips obnoxiously. He made a gagging noise as he tried to move further and further away from you. He could only go so far as he reached his end of the couch. He let out a squeal of surprise as you pressed a loud smooch on the base of his throat. He then screamed and ran to wash your kiss off.
You paused the movie and ran after him, offended that he was going to wash your kiss away. Hearing your footsteps, he let out a scream and ran out of the bathroom. You were hot on his tail as you chased him around the house. Despite him sounding like he was fearing for his life, which he partially was, his laughter was loud. It became louder when he suddenly turned around and started to chase you instead. Now, it was your turn to be chased as you squealed and laughed. Growing tired, you run back to the living room and accepting defeat on the couch.
"Okay, okay, you got me." You said out of breath as you laid down on the couch.
"That's what you get." He said, laying down on top of you like a blanket. You tried to push him off of you but to no avail as you were tired from running.
"If you're going to lay on me like this, can you at least be a dear and unpause the movie so we can keep watching?" You asked, accepting your fate with him as you weighted blanket.
"I sure can." He reached for the remote and unpaused the movie. You two spent the rest of the evening in that same position as you watched the movie. Although you weren't expecting to do some chasing and being chased in the process of this daily Halloween movie month, you were glad to watch your favorite movie with your favorite person.
Chapter 17: [Glad You Came] || Seungcheol
Notes:
Inspired by "Glad You Came" by The Wanted
Chapter Text
You were on a friend's vacation to Ibiza. The four of you, after many scheduling conflicts, were finally able to go on this together! You all were spending the week there, and everyone was very excited to see the sights. You, however, were the most excited for the nightlife. Ibiza is known for the clubs and party atmosphere, and you were CERTAIN that you would experience the wonder every night at a different location. You're so prepared for the clubbing experience that half of your suitcase is dedicated to party outfits.
"Did you really only pack party clothes?" One of your friends asked you.
"Of course not! I have other clothes, my party clothes are just the majority." You said, defending yourself.
"___..." That friend said in your name in a concerned tone of voice, fearing that you didn't pack adequately.
"You can't be surprised by this. You know ____'s one goal on this trip is partying." Another friend of yours said to the first one.
"I know, but still!" They whined.
"Just as long as they packed necessities too, then it's not too bad."
"Thank you! I knew you two would come to my defense." You said, wrapping an arm around their shoulders. The worried friend sighed as they shook their head.
"I'm not against you, you know. I'm just a little concerned, that's all."
"Well, don't be, everything is going to be okay because look where we are!" You said, turning them around to the view out of the window.
"Yes, in Ibiza." They replied matter-of-factly.
"Exactly! So let's have some fun!" You said enthusiastically, causing the other two friends to join you two in looking out the window.
Some way, somehow, it was already sunset time, and you were practically bouncing around the hotel room getting ready.
"_____ if you keep bouncing around like that, you won't be able to go clubbing like you wanted." One of your friends said.
"Yeah, be careful, please." Another friend said as they watched you analyze your outfit in the mirror.
"I'll be okay. Now, is everyone ready for our first night out in Ibiza?"
"Yes!" Your friends said in unison.
"And we need to eat first before clubbing." Your worried friend said right after. You looked over at them with a flat expression, and they looked back at you with a raised eyebrow.
"We'll eat and THEN go clubbing. Happy?" You said directly to them.
"Very." They said with a cheeky smile.
Making sure you all had everything that you needed, you all went to a restaurant near the hotel. After your meal, you were quick to rush everyone out of the establishment and lead the way to the first club in sight.
"My goodness _____, you're rushing like they're giving away free TVs or something." One of your friends said.
"Or maybe we get our first drink free there?" Another friend asked.
"Or maybe we get in free before a certain time?" Your final friend asked.
"Okay! We're here!" You said when you reached back of the line.
"This line looks super long." One of them pointed out, sticking their head out to see how far they were from the bouncer.
"Excuse me?" A voice spoke. You all turned your heads to meet a group of four guys.
"Yes?" You spoke on behalf of your friends.
"Wanna cut the line with us?"
"But how?" Your cautious friend asked him.
"Come with us, and you'll see." He said with a smirk. The four of you exchanged looks, worrying for your youngest friend who looks scared.
"You won't get us into trouble, right? Our little one here is kind of scared." You said, expressing concern for one of your friends.
"Absolutely not. I'm sorry, where are my manners. I'm Seungcheol, and these are my friends Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon." The man responded, introducing himself and his friends to you all. You and your friends looked at the guys, waving hello to all of them and getting a good look at their faces. You then introduced yourself and your friends to the guys. Your youngest friend kept glancing over at Vernon and giggled when their eyes locked.
"I think your friend is considering coming with us, after all." Seungcheol pointed out.
"Do you want to follow them?" You asked them.
"I guess we can see what they'll do. Since we're all together and all." They said, still feeling tense about this interaction.
"Alright then, now please follow us." He said, leading the way to the front of the queue. You all were behind the guys, so you tried to have a hushed discussion.
"Looks like our little baby here has a crush on their first night." You teased.
"No, I don't! Plus, don't act like you all weren't making goo goo eyes at them." They said in a hushed voice.
"Please never say goo goo eyes ever again." One of your friends said to them.
"I mean, they are right, though. They are a good-looking group of guys, and that Seungcheol guy is totally _____'s type."
"Is he- you know what, don't answer that." You started to ask before cutting yourself off, knowing that they will all agree. By now, you have reached the front and watched as Seungcheol took care of business. In the blink of an eye, the eight of you were allowed inside of the club. You had to admit, that was kind of attractive what he did for you and your friends.
"And here we are!" He said, turning around to you and your friends once you all were fully inside the club. You looked around, taking in your surroundings.
"I didn't think that would work so quickly." One of your friends (not the youngest one surprisingly) said.
"I have my ways." Seungcheol said smugly with a shrug.
"If you can get us clubs that quickly, we're gonna need you every night this week." You said. Seungcheol's eyes widen a bit before sporting a confused expression.
"Every night this week?"
"Yeah, ____'s goal for our trip is to truly experience the nightlife here."
"Huh, just like Seungcheol." Mingyu said, pointing out that observation.
"And what's your goal, Mingyu?" One of your friends asked him in a flirty tone.
"To see the sights, maybe do some shopping. You can come with me if you want since these guys aren't that much of a shopper as I am."
"I do love me some shopping." They said. He extended his hand to them, and they took it, leading them to the bar.
"What about you, Wonwoo?" Another friend asked him. He tilted his head to the side in thought.
"Hmm, maybe to see any historical sights or something like that. Learn about the country." He replied after thinking.
"You like history? So do I!" They said excitedly. They left as they shared with each other their favorite moments in history.
You and Seungcheol looked at your youngest friend, and Vernon stealing glances at one another once again.
"Hey Vernon, didn't you say that you didn't really have a goal for this trip?" Seungcheol asked him, trying to help his youngest friend out.
"Yeah, I just wanted to have fun with you all and maybe learn from the locals or something."
"Wow, that's so crazy because that's their goal too. Isn't that right?" You said, looking at your friend.
"Y-Yeah, I was just happy to finally go on a trip with my friends." They responded.
"You two should go sit and talk. Get to know each other and stuff." Seungcheol said, shooing the pair away. Your friend looked over at you and you nodded your head, assuring them that it'll be okay. They nodded back and looked at Vernon with a smile, walking away with him.
"And then they were two." You said.
"Can I ask you something?" He asked out of the blue.
"Sure."
"Am I really your type?" Your eyes went widen, starting to feel embarrassed that he heard that from your friend.
"You heard that?"
"My hearing isn't too shabby."
"To be honest, yes. Obviously, I don't know much about you personality wise, but visually, you hit all the marks."
"Well, we have all of this week to get to know each other." He said with a flirty tone.
"You really want to see me all this week?" You asked in somewhat shock.
"Even if I didn't, I would probably be seeing you and your friends." He said, looking over at the three pairs. You look over at each one, and they're all immersed in their conversations.
"That's true. Now I don't know about you, but I want a drink."
"Lead the way to the bar." You held his hand as you led him to the bar.
The rest of the night, you two got to know each other and exchanged numbers. What felt like a short time was hours of partying, drinking, and talking.
"I think one of your friends is ready to call it a night." Seungcheol said as he pointed at one of your friends, fighting the urge to fall asleep in the very loud club.
"Yeah, we should call it a night." You said as you two gathered up your friends and headed out. They all walked you back to your hotel before going off to their which wasn't too far.
"Well, night one is done. I'd say it's a successful trip so far." You said, everyone else agreeing. The rest of the week consisted of outings with the four of you and outings with the guys as well. There were moments where you and Seungcheol would sneak off and do your own thing together. By the last night on the trip, you were starting to feel sad. You weren't sure when you were going to see Seungcheol again, so you wanted to make tonight's party experience the best one yet. Little did you know that he had the same idea.
Tonight's party was at a rooftop bar with an amazing view. You were staring out at the sky when Seungcheol came over to you. You gave him a smile when you saw him.
"You okay?"
"Yeah, just soaking up the skyline while I still can." You said as the DJ started to play a new song. You let out a gasp when you realized it was one of your favorites. You started to sing the song to Seungcheol, giving him a personal serenade. He couldn't help but watch you with a big grin. He danced along with you as he took in the words.
"I'm really glad you came, Seungcheol." You said, standing closer to him.
"I can say the same about you, _____." He said, closing the gap between you two.
"We'll stay in touch?"
"Of course. Maybe next time we can come back here, just us two."
"I'd love that." You two smiled at each other as he leaned in to kiss you. You met him halfway and kissed him. You pulled away and hugged him as you looked at the stars in the sky. He hugged you back and swayed you two side to side. You were going to miss this place, miss being with him. Maybe all those attempts falling through was worth it after all since you were able to meet him and his friends on this trip.
Chapter 18: [Christmas Tree Selection] || Jongho
Chapter Text
This is your first Christmas with Jongho in your new house, and you were so excited to get a real tree. You wanted to go with him to pick a tree, but you were stuck at home with a big virtual meeting.
"Jongho, I think today would be a good day to get a tree, but I won't be able to go with you." You said with a pout.
"Why not? I thought you had off today?"
"I thought so too, but the CEO suddenly wants a meeting, so I don't have a choice." You said, rolling your eyes with a sigh.
"I can wait for tomorrow. There's no rush."
"Oh no, sweetie, THERE IS." Jongho looked at you with a mix of panic and confusion.
"And why is that?"
"Because the best trees always get taken first." He thought about it for a second before nodding in agreement.
"Okay, then I guess I go while you're in that meeting. When does it start?" He asked you. You looked at the clock in the kitchen and saw you had some time before your meeting.
"Like half an hour?" You said as an estimate.
"I'll leave in half an hour then." Jongho said with a smile, making you smile back at him. He made sure you had your water bottle filled up and any snacks that you may need during the meeting. He also helped you get dressed, even though you were just going to only be shown from your chest upwards.
"Enjoy your meeting." He said, pressing a kiss to your temple and cheek.
"I won't." You said, catching Jongho off gaurd and letting out a loud laugh. You started to laugh, too, but puckered your lips for one last kiss. He gives you a quick peck as he leaves for the tree farm and as you log on to the call.
When Jongho arrived to the grounds, he got overwhelmed by his options. You were right on going today because there were several options to choose from. I'm not sure what kind of tree you wanted. He decided to call you. You were still in the meeting when he called, so you had to mute your mic and step out of the room to answer the phone.
"Hello?"
"Is your meeting over?"
"Nope, so what's up? I have to go back."
"I don't know what kind of tree to get."
"Baby, I don't know. Just pick whatever tree you think I would like." You said, quickly ushering him off of the phone. He looked down at his phone with a sigh before pocketing it. He looked through the field, unsure of what to pick. After a good while there, he finally made his decision and headed home.
You were out of your meeting when Jongho texted you letting you know that he was on his way home. In the meantime, you went to gather the decorations. By the time you put down the final box, Jongho pulled into the driveway. You rushed outside, and you were met with a surprise.
"Jongho, are you trying to start your own tree farm in our backyard?!" You asked as you saw more than one tree in the back of his pickup truck.
"What do you mean?"
"Why do you have SIX trees?" You asked after counting them all.
"I didn't know which one you wanted." You could only blink at him for a moment before words came into formation.
"SO YOU BROUGHT SIX-" You yelled before he cut you off.
"I brought the six biggest trees there, yes." He said proudly.
"Jongho, what am I going to do with you?" You said while shaking your head.
"Well, for starters, you can thank me because this was hard work. Cutting down six big trees by myself." You whipped your head up and look at him in shock and furrowed eyebrows.
"You cut them down by YOURSELF?" You asked in shock.
"I sure did."
"You cut down six trees. By yourself. No help?"
"No help." He said confidently.
"So they just had an axe lying around?"
"Why are you asking so many questions?" He asked, crossing his arms across his chest.
"You can't just bring home six Christmas trees and expect me to NOT ask questions." You said, matching his posture.
"You know what, you got me there." He said, hands in the air in defeat.
"Okay, so let's do this: I'll pick my favorite tree, and then we can give the rest away to neighbors and/or friends." You said, thinking that Jongho would be on board with the idea.
"OR, hear me out, we sell the rest."
"You money fiend." You said poking his shoulder, and he dramatically exclaimed in pain.
"You gotta survive out here, baby. It's a cruel world out there."
"But we're in the holiday season! Think of the kids!"
"Are these kids gonna give me their piggy banks as a form of payment?" You reach to smack him upside the head, but he dodged it quickly.
"Ugh, fine. We'll give the trees away." You cheered in delight, giving him a big hug. It was hard to choose a tree since they were netted, but Jongho thankfully took pictures of each tree before and after being netted. After close inspection, you finally decided on a tree and helped him put it in the house. And by helped, I mean you made sure the door was open wide enough for him to bring it inside.
You called your friends and next-door neighbors to ask them if they already had a Christmas tree. They all said that they were either going to go later in the week or they were probably going to get a fake tree. When you offered a free tree, they all graciously accepted. Some of them came to pick one up and the rest you and Jongho delivered to their house. Once all of the trees were gone, you returned home.
"Are you feeling the Christmas spirit now?" You asked your boyfriend.
"Yeah, but I can feel it some more." You looked at him in confusion, and he pointed upwards. You looked above your heads to find a mistletoe placed in the doorway.
"Huh, I don't remember putting that there." You said, leaning closer.
"I may have put it up before we left." He said, leaning closer as well.
"I guess we gotta keep the tradition alive." You said with a smile, noses brushing against each other.
"I guess we do." He said, closing the gap between the two of you. You reciprocated the kiss and your heart skipped a beat. Your first Christmas in the new house was already bound to be a success but it would be great regardless since you were spending it with your lover.
Chapter 19: [7PM] || Moonbin
Notes:
Happy birthday Binne, rest well my love <3 // based on the song 7PM by BSS ft. Peder Elias
Chapter Text
Due to your's and your boyfriend's work schedules, you tend to have dates after work. Your favorite date spot was by Han River. The scenic view was the perfect background, whether it was sunset or the night sky.
Moonbin always had you on his mind. Even when he unfortunately missed the bus and had to take a taxi during rush hour. Even when he's on his lunch break. To be fair, you were the same. You were always thinking about him throughout the day, taking mental notes to tell him when you see him next. You were on your lunch break when he texted you asking if you're up for a date by the river. Given the day you were already having so far, you quickly agreed.
You were stuck at work half an hour overtime due to an error, so when you were able to finally leave, you let Moonbin know that you were going to pick up dinner for the two of you on the way to Han River. Despite leaving work later, you knew that you would get there before him. He tends to have late afternoon run-throughs for choreography or meetings. Since he's closer to the river than you, you two end up meeting at the same time.
Tonight, however, you were surprised to see him waiting for you at your usual spot.
"Binnie?" You asked in shock.
"I beat you to it today!" He said with a big grin, standing up from the ground and opening his arms up for a hug. You gently place the food down on the blanket and melt into his embrace. He wrapped his arms around you tightly, lifting you up for a moment before placing you back on your feet.
"How was your day?" You both asked in unison, letting out giggles at how in sync you two were as you were sitting down.
"You go first." You both said in unison once again. No one said a word for a brief moment, unsure who will talk first. He gestured for you to go first, and you nodded in agreement.
"Nothing too exciting, BUT we all had to stay 30 minutes after because there was an error." You said, rolling your eyes.
"What kind of error was it?" He asked, starting to take the dinner out of the bags.
"Someone accidentally deleted a folder full of work, so we all were scrambling trying to get it restored." You explained, helping him take them out.
"A whole folder?!" He asked in surprise.
"A whole folder!" You exclaimed.
"Wow, I would be embarrassed if I were them."
"Oh yeah, they were definitely embarrassed, especially because they're new to the company. We all tried our best to reassure them that accidents happen and to be more careful next time around. They wanted to fix their mistake on their own, but they got overwhelmed with stress very quickly. That poor baby." You finished off with a small frown, feeling bad for them.
"I hope they didn't get into too much trouble." He said, also feeling bad for the new employee.
"They didn't. They had a bit of talking to but no real punishment. But anyways, how was your day?" You said, then asking him. He let out a groan as he immediately recalled his morning.
"I missed the bus this morning so I had to call a taxi." Your eyes widened when you realized what time he had to leave this morning.
"During rush hour?!" You asked in shock.
"During rush hour!" He repeated in exclamation.
"Oh, absolutely not. That's so crazy. They need to fix the bus schedules or something." You said with furrowed brows as you chewed on your food. He couldn't bite back his grin as you felt frustrated for him. Feeling his eyes on you, you look up at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Do I have something on my face?" You asked him, gesturing to your face. He shook his head no.
"No, you're just cute." He replied, making you groan with blushed cheeks.
"Right back at ya, babe." You said with a playful wink, making him blush as well.
The rest of the evening was spent enjoying dinner with a view. When you saw that it was getting late, you felt sad at how quickly time was passing.
"Do you want to sleep over at mine?" You asked him, not wanting to leave him just yet.
"Yes!" He answered almost immediately. You flinched at how quick his response was, but you let out a little squeal of happiness. You two packed up everything and threw your garbage before heading home to your place.
Since he has slept over before on different occasions, he already has pajamas, clothes, and toiletries for him at your place. You two did your nighttime routines together and got comfy in bed.
"At least it's the weekend. Unless you have practice?" You asked him as you faced him in the bed.
"Nope, I'm free all weekend." He said, making your eyes light up.
"All weekend?!" You asked, him nodding.
"We can do whatever for the whole weekend." He said excitedly.
"Sleepover for the weekend?" You suggested shyly.
"I'm glad you suggested it because I was also thinking about it." He said with a smile.
The two of you fell asleep with smiles on your face as you were thinking about the many things you could do together during the weekend. Anytime with Binnie was great, but there will always be something special about 7 PM.
Chapter 20: [The Bodyguard's Priority] || Jaehyun
Chapter Text
"'Be a bodyguard,' they said. It'll pay well, they said.'" Jaehyun muttered under his breath, following close behind you as you left the bar, drink in hand.
"And they were correct." You said, taking a sip of your drink. Jaehyun glared at you, fighting the urge to roll his eyes at you.
You see, you're the heir to a very successful family business, so you need protection at all times, especially when going out. You enjoyed going out to clubs and lounges, which stressed Jaehyun the most because you would drink past your limit.
"Just make sure you don't drink past your limit again. You have that meeting on Monday."
"Okay, and it's Friday night. What's your point?" You asked, not understanding why he's bringing up something that won't happen for a couple of days.
"You have brunch tomorrow, too, remember? It's going to take you forever to sober up."
"Geez Jaehyun, you're making it seem like I have a low tolerance." You said, downing the rest of your drink.
"That's because you DO have a low tolerance." He said, grabbing your glass and putting it down on the server's tray that was passing by with empty glasses.
"Alright, alright, I won't go too hard tonight." You said with a smile, batting your eyelashes twice. Jaehyun squinted his eyes at you, not trusting those words.
You ate your words, or rather drank them, as you took shot after shot. Jaehyun could only shake his head after you took each other shot. He let out a sigh of relief when you stopped to dance to your favorite song. That sigh of relief quickly turned into a deep inhale as he watched danced recklessly on the floor. It's almost as if he's watching the alcohol affect your system in real time as your moves got crazier as the song progressed.
Not wanting you to descend further into your drunk dance, for the safety of yourself and literally everyone else there, Jaehyun rushed over to you and led you away from the dance floor. Not only that, he knows that if anyone got a video of it, the press would have a field day talking badly about you.
"Alright, you're done for the night." He said.
"You never let me have any fun." You said with a pout.
"It's not that I don't want you to have fun, it's-"
"My reputation and ties to the family. I know this already, Jaehyun." You said, getting in the car after he opened the door open for you. He could tell you were genuinely upset despite being intoxicated. Once he got into the driver's seat and pulled away from the venue, he asked you if you wanted to vent to him.
"I mean...what is there for me to complain about? I'm living very comfortably financially speaking, and I could have anything I want. People WISH for this lifestyle, but they rarely mention the downside of having eyes on you 24/7. I could do 99 right things, but the one SINGULAR time I mess up, suddenly I'm a disgrace to the family." You rambled rather quickly, not realizing that you started to cry. Jaehyun looks between the road and you in the rearview mirror in pity, seeing firsthand the experiences you're referring to.
"You have every right to complain about being in the public eye. There's a lot of pressure on your shoulders, so the frustration will build up over time."
"Oh, it's been building alright." You said with a sniffle. Pulling into the privacy of your home garage, Jaehyun parks and shuts off the car. He pulls tissues out of the glove box and hands them to you. You thank him and take it as you wipe your tears away. What surprised you, though, was instead of him getting out of the car to open the door for you, he joined you in the back.
"Can I tell you something?" He asked you, to which you nodded.
"I'm doing this in here because this is the most private it'll get for us. You're doing such a great job at this whole...heir thing. I bet that if other people were in your spot, they'd drop out so fast. It's normal to crack under pressure. That's how diamonds are made, and ______, you are the shiniest one amongst them all. I'm not just saying this because I work for you...I genuinely mean it." You looked at him with your mouth agape.
"I didn't know you were a motivational speaker like that, Jae." You said in shock.
"Eh, what can I say? I'm a man of many talents." He said with a smirk, causing you to roll your eyes and shove his shouler. He exclaimed in fake pain, holding his shoulder for dramatic effect.
"If you're going to treat me like that, I'll take back what I said."
"I pay you, remember?" You said with a smile, not hiding your amusement.
"You KNOW I'm kidding." He said, matching your expression. He's glad to see that he was able to make you feel better.
"I know, I know. But seriously, thank you for what you said. I really needed to hear that." You expressed wholeheartedly.
"Anytime you need me, you know I'm always there." He said before exiting the car and coming to open your door.
"And I'm glad you are. I'm also glad you applied for this bodyguard job because I can't imagine anyone else." You said as you stepped out of the car.
"I'm glad I applied too. Now come on, we need to get water in your system, and you ready for bed." He walked alongside of you to make sure that you don't hurt yourself since the alcohol was still in your system. He helped you with your night-time routine and had water and pain relief ready for you on your bedside table.
You sure put him through a lot of things sometimes, but there's no better bodyguard for you than him.
Chapter 21: [Race To Your Heart] || Hongjoong
Chapter Text
The Superrace Championship is something Hongjoong has been wanting to be a part of ever since he saw the very first race. Feeling the vibration of the cars speeding on the tracks from the bleachers furthered the excitement of watching the race. It was on that day when he saw the champion get out of the car and their team rushing to celebrate that he knew he wanted to experience that same feeling.
Years have gone by, and he has attended all of the races. Over the years, he's gotten to learn about racing and develop an interest in cars as a whole. He's had opportunities to meet the racers and told all of them that he would be racing against them when he grows up.
If those drivers didn't believe him before, they have no choice but to now because Hongjoong is officially a new racer for the championship! Officially being the youngest competitor that year, it definitely brought in a lot of new fans, and you were one of them.
"Are you really only going to the race for Hongjoong?" Your friend asked you.
"Are you really surprised by this?" You asked back.
"Not at all, so I shouldn't have asked." They replied.
"Plus, I swear he recognizes me now." You pointed out.
"Oh? You think so?" They asked in surprise.
"I mean...maybe? It feels like he does." You said with an unsure expression.
"We'll see for sure when race day arrives."
And that day arrived in a blink of an eye because you and your friend were heading towards the event. Fans of all ages were buzzing with excitement as they filled up the bleachers. The two of you miraculously found a stop that had a good view of the start/finish line.
"I can't believe we got such a good spot!" You said ecstatically as you sat down.
"Me neither!"
You two were talking amongst yourselves, enjoying the food and music when the racers started to be announced.
"And here we have the new fan favorite: Number 81 himself, Kim Hongjoong!" The announcer said over the speakers. Cheers could be heard all around as he drove a lap around the track before getting into his starting position. Once all of the racers got in their positions, the lights switched colors, and when it turned green, the racers took off.
Everyone in the crowd was cheering on their favorite racers. You and your friend were cheering loudly for Hongjoong as if he could hear you two directly in his helmet. As it approached the last lap, audience members started to stand up in anticipation to see who would end up in first place. It was neck and neck between Hongjoong and another racer, but it was Hongjoong that came out victorious.
All of his fans, you and your friend included, were celebrating in the stands. Not only did he make history of being the youngest racer that year, but also by being the youngest racer ever to win this championship.
After giving a speech and celebrating with his crew, he did some interviews post race as people were starting to file out of the venue. Fans of him stuck around in hopes of an autograph or even a picture with him. You and your friend stuck around as well to see if what you thought about him noticing you was correct.
Hongjoong came out from the interviews and started to go down the line, interacting with his fans. He made sure to take his time to thank them for coming and hear everything they had to say to him. As he finished talking to someone near you and your friend, he happened to glance your way and did a double take.
"Hey, it's you!" Hongjoong pointed at you and waved.
"Me?" You asked, pointing at yourself as he walked to stand in front of you, not before saying goodbye to the previous person.
"Yes, you! You've been at every race I've competed in." He pointed out, making your mouth drop in shock.
"You've noticed?" You asked, nudging your friend without looking away from him.
"How could I not notice a pretty face? Especially when they come to every race I'm in?" He said with a smirk.
"I-I don't know. You meet a lot of people doing these things so..." You said, trailing off.
"_____ is lying. They've DEFINITELY noticed." Your friend said, exposing your suspicion. You slowly turned your head to them with wide eyes, and they met your expression with a sly grin.
"What they mean is that I couldn't tell if you were really looking at ME when you would look in my direction." You explained.
"Trust me when I say that your suspicions are right." He said.
"You see, you were right all along." Your friend said, patting you on the back. You were about to speak up when Hongjoong's manager whispered something in his ear.
"I'm sorry, but my manager is telling me that I have to do a conference in a few minutes so I need to go get ready." He said with an obnoxious frown. You and your friend matched his frown, causing you three to start giggling.
"It was so great to finally meet you!" Your friend said, you nodding in agreement.
"This won't be the last time we'll see each other. I'm sure ____ would love to see me again, isn't that right?" He said with a smirk again, tilting his head to the side. Your mouth kept opening and closing, unable to find the words.
"Hurry up, he has a conference to go to." Your friend said through gritted teeth.
"Y-Yeah I would love that." You managed to say.
"Great! Can I see your phone really quick?" He asked you, gesturing to your phone. You have never unlocked your phone so fast in your life. Handing it over to him, you see him type away and take a quick selfie. He then turns around to take a selfie with you and your friend. He handed you back for your phone with a smile.
"It was great seeing you ____ and..." He trailed off, not knowing your friend's name. They introduced themselves, and he repeated their name. He gave you two hugs and waved goodbye as he was ushered away by his manager. You two watched him until he disappeared into a tent before making your exit.
Once you got in your friend's car, you went through your phone to see the pictures and what he typed beforehand. You showed your friend the selfie and sent them both to them. Seeing what apps were previously opened, you see that your contacts were opened and you were met with his name and number saved.
"He gave me his number..." You said quietly.
"HE GAVE YOU HIS WHAT?!" Your friend exclaimed.
"Look!" You said, showing the saved contact.
"Oh my goodness...my friend pulled a race car driver." They said, hitting your arm.
"Ow! I know you're excited for me, but don't hit me so hard." You said with a wince, holding your arm.
"Oh please, it was a light slap." They said before driving the car out of the parking lot.
During the trip home, you debated if you should text him right away. In the end, you sent him a text before reaching home so he would have your number saved after the conference. You didn't want to keep him waiting after all. Once your friend dropped you off at your place, you texted him that you made it home safely. You were surprised when you got a notification right after and even more surprised to see that it was him responding to your text.
Reading the message, you put your phone down on the kitchen counter before squealing and running to the bathroom to wash your hands. You ran back to your phone after hastily drying your hands to answer him back. You spent the rest of the day texting each other, hoping to make plans to see other again, just outside of the racetrack this time.
Chapter 22: [Teacher's Orientation] || Yoongi
Chapter Text
You were a new professor at your local university, and you were currently at the orientation for all of the other new professors. Walking into the conference room where it was taking place, you were surprised to see that it was nearly full. It appeared that you were the last person that they were waiting for since there was only one seat left. Squeezing your way through the room, you got the seat and started to strike conversation with the person next to you.
"I'm not too late, am I?" You asked them. The person looked at the program and then looked at their watch.
"No, you came in a few minutes before it started. Plus, I overheard them saying that they might start a little late." They said, which made you release a sigh of relief.
"Oh, thank goodness. Someone sent me in the other direction, so I was worried I would be here and it had already started."
"Did you somehow ask a freshman?" They asked with a chuckle.
"No, but they definitely looked confused like one." You said with a giggle.
"Then that really could have been a freshman."
"I fear it was. But anyways, I'm ____. What's your name?" You asked them, offering your hand for them to shake.
"I'm Yoongi." He replied, shaking your hand.
"Nice to meet you, Yoongi! What do you teach?" You asked, making him raise his eyebrow.
"Are we starting icebreakers early?" He teased.
"Might as well get it out of the way now." You said with a shrug.
"You've got a fair point. I teach music theory."
"I heard that subject is hard." You commented.
"It can be difficult depending on the topic, yeah, but I have different ways of explaining them so everyone can understand. What do you teach?"
"I teach journalism, mainly beginner, but I can do advanced as well."
"You've written in newspapers before?" He asked you.
"Just my school papers and the local ones. Not the big ones." You said with a shrug.
"You say that so casually like it's not an accomplishment."
"I mean, it is, but like..." You said, trailing off as you try to find the right words.
"You feel like it's not enough to be proud of?" Yoongi asked, finding the words for you.
"Yes, exactly!" You said while nodding quickly.
"Well, let me be the first to tell you that it's worth celebrating and being proud of. Maybe once you get the ball rolling here, you'll be writing for bigger publications." He said, patting your shoulder. You tried your best to keep your blush down as you thanked him.
"Thank you, Yoongi."
"Alright, everyone, sorry for the delay." Someone said as they walked in the room.
"Hello everyone, and thank you all so much for being a part of our staff. I am the dean of this school, and I look forward to working with you all." They introduced themselves to the group. Just like you predicted, they did have you all do icebreakers as a collective.
By the end of the orientation, it was near lunchtime. Not yet ready to leave Yoongi, you invited him to have lunch with you.
"Do you want to go and get lunch with me?" It's about to be lunchtime."
"That depends. Where are we going?" He answered.
"Do you have anything in mind?"
"Just not the cafeteria food. I'm not trying to get sick this early on." He said with a disapproving look.
"But the students eat there." You said.
"If they don't have much of a choice, yeah. But we do, so I say let's NOT go there." He said, pulling you away from the direction of the cafeteria.
"Alright, alright, we won't go there. You pick where we eat then." You said as you followed behind him. The skinship didn't register in your brain until he finally let you go once you two stopped at the restaurant.
Although you were able to keep down your blush, your heart still skipped a beat. Maybe it was for the best that you were the last professor to walk in before orientation started because who knows if you would have ended up with a new teacher friend (and potential crush).
Chapter 23: [His Favorite Backpack] || Wonwoo
Chapter Text
"Wonwoo, why do these bikers talk about wanting a backpack when they're already wearing one?" You asked your boyfriend out of the blue. He looked over at you to see you holding out your phone to him with a video that was on your explore page. To be fair, it's partially his fault that your explore page is filled with biker content.
When you first met him, he was on his motorcycle, and you thought it was a cool bike. You were with your friends when he parked near you.
"Woah, that's a cool bike." You said as you turned to look after hearing the purring of the engine. Your friend next to you heard your comment, and they turned around to look as well.
"Looks kinda scary." They commented.
"The bike or the person?" You asked. Before they could answer, the biker took off their helmet, and you two were rendered speechless.
"You know what, nothing is scary, actually." Your friend said, backtracking. The two of you stared at the stranger in awe at the beauty that was hiding underneath the helmet. You two probably looked like statues until they walked past you two, giving you a smirk and a wink. Once they were no longer in sight, you and your friend let out a squeal.
"What's got you two squealing?" Your other friend asked.
"Did you not just see that biker?!" You asked.
"YEAH! He totally thinks ____ is cute because he smirked AND winked." Your friend followed up.
"A SMIRK AND A WINK?!" They exclaimed.
"YES!" Now the three of you were squealing in excitement.
"Okay, okay, so what are you going to do when he comes back?" Your friend who came back asked you.
"What do you mean?"
"_____..." They said, hearing a slight tone of disappointment in their voice.
"Are you going to ask for his number? Instagram? ANYTHING?!" Your friend next to you asked loudly.
"Don't be so loud." You said through gritted teeth.
"Listen, there could be something here." They reasoned.
"OR, hear me out, he just liked the attention we gave him." You said.
"You already know what I'm going to tell you ____."
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." You all said in unison, you saying it in a monotone way.
"If I ask him, will it make you both happy?" You asked the two.
"Very happy, yes." One rescinded as the other nodded in agreement.
"Okay, I'll do it when he comes back." One of them looks over their shoulder and turns back to look at you with a wicked grin. You raised at your eyebrow at them before looking over their shoulder. Your eyes quickly raised up a bit as you saw him returning back to his motorcycle.
"It's your time to shine, friend." Your friend teased as you watched him walk back to his bike. Your friends lightly shoved you in his direction so you can talk to him before he leaves. The shove wasn't as light as your friends thought because you bump into his back.
"I'm sorry, tripped over my own feet." You apologized, sending a quick glare at your friends before looking up at him.
"It's okay, just glad you didn't get hurt."
"Me too because that would have been real embarrassing. But anyway, I came to say that I think your bike is cool!" You complimented.
"Oh, thank you! I've never been told that before." He said with a shy smile.
"Really?" You asked in surprise.
"Yeah...some people find it scary."
"I can see how it looks intimidating, but it's still cool looking." You said with a smile.
"I appreciate it, thank you!"
"Do you like...I don't know...post content about your bike and stuff?" You asked nervously.
"I don't, but if you ever want to go for a ride with me one day, I'd love to do that with you." You let out a small gasp, quickly covering your mouth in shock and embarrassment.
"T-That would be nice. I've never been on a motorcycle before." You stuttered.
"Well, this is good news for the both of us then. Whenever you're ready for a ride, you can let me know." He said, pulling out his phone. You put your number in his phone and you call it so you can save his number on your phone. After saving each other's number, you waved him goodbye.
"Get home safe!"
"You too!" He said, waving back at you. He then put on his helmet, started his bike with a loud rev, and pulled off. You watched him until he was no longer in sight, and your friends were already right behind you when you turned around.
"Y'all can't be creeping up on me like that." You said, hand over your fast beating heart.
"So...?"
"I got his number." You said with a big grin. You and your friends jumped up and down before returning home.
Ever since that night, you and Wonwoo got to know each other, and the relationship grew from friendship to romance. Now, to come back to the current situation, Wonwoo looked at your phone and let out a chuckle.
"Baby, you've been my backpack this whole time." He said with a grin.
"So me being behind you on your bike is me being a backpack?" You asked, trying to understand.
"Yes, because you're hanging on to me like a backpack in a way."
"That's kind of cute, actually." You said with a giggle. "Am I the only backpack you've had?" You asked him with a raised eyebrow.
"Aside from a literal backpack, yes, but you're my favorite one." He said, pinching your cheeks. You groaned with a roll in your eyes, trying to ignore the fact that he made you blush with that statement. It's a good thing that your friends pushed you to go talk to him because if not, then who knows when you would have gone on your first motorcycle ride and date the person who gave you your first ride as well.
Chapter 24: [Couples Cosplay] || Jaehyun
Chapter Text
Ever since your boyfriend, Jaehyun, dyed his hair blonde, you have been begging him to cosplay as Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen for Halloween.
"You're only asking me to dress as him because you think he's hot."
"You're hot, he's hot, it just makes sense." You said, defending your request. Jaehyun stared at you with a blank expression.
"I can't be some other hot blonde guy for Halloween?"
"Nope!" You said enthusiastically. He let out a heavy sigh before responding.
"I'll do it if I get to pick your costume." He offered.
"But I already have mine." You said with a frown.
"Do you want me to be Nanami or not?" He said, crossing his arms.
"You know what, I can always save my original costume idea for next year." You answered almost immediately. All he could do was shake his head at how fast you answered.
You immediately got to work, going through his closet to see what parts of the cosplay he already has, such as the suit and the dress shirt.
"Okay, so I just have to get you the tie, the little glasses, the brown shoulder harness vest thing, and the cleaver."
"And the WHAT?!" He exclaimed in shock, eyes wide.
"Not a real one, silly. A fake foamy one or whatever." You said, instantly calming his nerves.
"I was about to say." He said, wiping off the imaginary sweat off of his forehead.
"Now why would I have you walk around with a real one?" You asked, putting your hands on your hips.
"Knowing who you are, you might be crazy enough to do it." He reasoned. You gave him a look of bewilderment at his statement.
"I would if I wanted us both in JAIL!" You said.
"Oh wait...you're so right."
"And you call ME dramatic." You said, rolling your eyes at him as you walked away from him.
"And where do you think YOU'RE going?" He called out to you.
"To order your stuff for costume." You answered, barely looking over your shoulder.
"You know what, I'm gonna do that too." He yelled back.
"You go do that, babe." You exclaimed before entering the bedroom.
"I will...once I figure it out." He said, muttering the last part under his breath. After some scouring on the internet, he finally settled on an idea and immediately ordered.
You were so excited when everything arrived, and it took everything in you not to make him put the costume on early. Little did you know, Jaehyun was equally as excited for you to try on costume. Luckily for the both of you, there was a party coming up, so you were both counting the days to the party.
When it was finally the day of the party, you excitedly got Jaehyun's costume together while he was in the shower.
"Jae, hurry up! It feels like you've been in there forever!" You yelled through the bathroom door.
"____, it's been like 2 minutes!" He replied back.
"More like 2 years!" You couldn't hear him, but you were certain that he let out a sigh as he continued his shower. You waited impatiently for him to come out of the bathroom to help him get dressed.
"I don't think I've ever seen you this excited to get me into clothes." He teased as you tied his tie.
"You know how I feel about Nanami, so of course I'm excited about this." You said, focusing on fixing the tie.
"I'm starting to think you like him more than me." He poked, but when you didn't answer him, he let out a gasp.
"So you DO like him more than me?!"
"I like you both equally." You answered with a smile, and Jaehyun narrowed his eyes.
"Mhmm. Anyways, now it's your turn to shower and get dressed."
You held your hands out for him to give you the costume, but he hit your hands, giving them high fives.
"Nuh uh uh, the same way you helped me get dressed is the same way I'm going to help you." He said with a sly smirk.
"You just want to see me come out with a towel." You said, rolling your eyes.
"And is that not the reason why you had me do that?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"...you've got me there." You said before heading to the bathroom. Once you finished showering, you went back to where Jaehyun is and he helped you get dressed.
"I'm gonna be real honest, I wasn't expecting you to pick a costume from the same anime." You commented as you looked at yourself in the mirror. You were dressed up as Maki and Jaehyun couldn't help but check you out.
"It wouldn't have looked right if we were two separate things."
"Why do I feel like you picked her because you find her attractive?" You asked, looking at him.
"You're hot, she's hot, it just makes sense." He said, mocking your reason for his costume days prior.
"You've been waiting to say that back to me, huh?"
"Yup!" He said with a big grin.
"Well, you did a good job. Now, let's head over to that party." You two grabbed everything you needed before heading over. You two had fun the entire night, receiving many compliments from the partygoers. Some even stopped to take pictures with you two since it was their favorite anime. You both got what you wanted at the end, so everyone is a winner this Halloween.
Chapter 25: [Runaway Love] || Jongho
Notes:
Based off the song, "Runaway Love" by Justin Bieber.
Chapter Text
You told Jongho from the jump that if at any point you don't feel like a priority to him that you would leave. Surprised by that, he asked your friends if you were serious by that statement when they all met for the first time.
"Oh yeah, they're VERY serious about that." One of your friends confirmed.
"They love the idea of being in a relationship, but they will NOT hesitate to leave if the vibes are off." The other friend further explained. Jongho processed their words and made sure everything was going well in your relationship with him. He did so well...until sport season was creeping up on him.
Now, you're fully aware that he loves sports and that he'll be tuned in to the games and even go play with his friends at the local park.
"____, the guys and I are gonna play a football game at the park. Wanna come?" You watched as he kicked the ball around
"Do you want to watch the game with me? I'll explain everything to you during the game."
He included you in the hangouts, even though you didn't fully understand the rules, but you were supportive of his passion for the sport. As the season progressed, he became hyperfocused on it. Jongho unintentionally started neglecting you, barely answering your calls and text messages. He only realized that he messed up big time when his team lost and won't be moving further into the championship.
Jongho tried calling you, but he was sent straight to voicemail. He tried texting you as well, only to see that it phone was on do not disturb. He was aware that you rarely put your phone in that mode, and when it's on, it's because you're mad. Fear running through his veins as he connected the dots, he rushed over to your apartment.
He knocked on the door, only for your roommate to answer the door.
"Let me guess, ____'s phone is on DND so you came to see them?" They asked, causing Jongho to nod his head.
"And you ARE aware of why their phone is on DND mode, right?" The roommate followed up. Jongho stood there as he racked his brain for an answer.
"I'll take that as a no. Listen, were you not told about _____ can be a runaway when it comes to these things. You've probably neglected them, and they've been going out ever since." Hearing their words made the lightbulb go off above Jongho's head.
"Oh no...I screwed up. I screwed it up BIG. They'll never forgive me, and this relationship is basically over and-" He rambled before getting cut off.
"Woah there, cool your jets. You can still fix this." Your roommate said.
"I can?!" Jongho asked in shock.
"Yes, because they genuinely like you and want to be with you. In fact, they knew that you would come here today."
"Really?"
"Yeah. They still kept up with your team despite everything so they're aware that they lost." The relevation made him frown, making him feel more guilty.
"Here." Your roommate handed him a note.
"What's this?"
"Why don't you read it and find out?" They asked back. Jongho read the note and was confused.
"I don't get it." He said after reading it.
"They want you to run after them, a cat and mouse chase if you will. Follow the clues, and you can beg and plead for their forgiveness." They explained as the light bulb above his head lit up.
"AH! Okay, so once I figure this clue out, I'll keep finding more until the final location where they are!"
"Exactly! Oh, and you might want to stop somewhere and get flowers or something like that. Showing up empty-handed might not be a good look for you."
"You're right! Thanks for your help!"
"Anytime, good luck!" Jongho thanked them again and left your apartment building. Once he was outside, he read the note again and thought about where it could refer to. Realizing it was for your first date spot, he went there first. As he went through the clues and traveled all the places (and getting you flowers, of course), he was starting to reminisince about your relationship together. He enjoyed being with you, and he felt like he ruined your first sport season with him.
The last clue directed him to the very park where he would pay football with his friends. He saw you sitting infront of the goal post, remembering the time when you filled in as a goalie during one of his games.
"_______!" Jongho yelled at, running towards you. You flinched at the noise as he rushed over with flowers in tow.
"Listen... I'm so...SO...sorry." He said, few words at a time as he tried catching his breath.
"Catch your breath and try again." You said, gesturing for him to sit in front of you. He sat down and took deep breaths before speaking again.
"First off, these are for you. They're your favorites all in one." He said, handing you the bouquet.
"This is beautiful, thank you." You said shyly, flattered by the gesture.
"Only the best for the prettiest flower of them all." He flirted with a wink. You rolled your eyes with a smile, letting out a scoff.
"Are you trying to butter me up so you don't have to apologize?"
"____, you know I'm like this at all times. But I genuinely do want to apologize for ignoring you like this. I could make the excuse of saying how I've never been in a relationship during football season, but that's pathetic. I took the time to introduce you to part of my world, and I left you high and dry. You were getting so interested in it too, so I feel awful for doing what I did. It's worse that I heard your warning from you AND your friends and I STILL screwed up. Will you ever forgive me?" He spoke, looking at you with hope in his eyes.
You already knew that you were going to forgive him mentally but you had to drag it out a bit just to make him suffer a little more.
"Hmm...will you do better next season?" You asked with a raised eyebrow, making him nod enthusiastically.
"Absolutely! Yes! I'll even find a way to get us tickets to a game. I'll be better and bring you along to things more and keep you company! Just please say you forgive me." He pleaded.
"I forgive you, Jongho." You said with a grin, causing him to exclaim loudly. You laughed at his excitement and he helped the two of you stand up. Wiping off the grass from your legs, you two walked hand and hand out of the field. Jongho might start to joke and call you his runaway love from now on but he officially knows what to do to make sure you don't leave him like that ever again.
Chapter 26: [The First Snow] || Taehyun
Chapter Text
"_____!" Your boyfriend, Taehyun, exclaimed while shaking you awake. You let out a groan in acknowledgment, not fully awake yet to speak.
"Guess what today is?!" He asked excitedly.
"Saturday?" You asked, voice still laced with sleepiness.
"No, silly! Well, actually, it IS Saturday, but that's not important. IT'S SNOWING! THE FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON!" He said loudly with a big smile on his face. You barely got a chance to properly sit up as Taehyun dragged you out of bed to go look out the window. You slightly shivered as you felt the cold air coming from the glass and looked outside to confirm your boyfriend's excitement.
"It is snowing!" You said, feeling awake from the cold air and properly sharing your boyfriend's excitement. You loved looking at snow but not so much being in it. You loved the look but not the feel, if that makes sense. Taehyun, however, loved it all and was ready to rush outside to have a snow day with you.
"But baby, we didn't even have breakfast yet." You said as you watched him pull out the winter boots and snow gear from the closet.
"So what I'm hearing is that we can go out if we eat?" He asked, glimmer of hope shining through his eyes.
"AND shower." You said, adding an extra tidbit to the compromise.
"DEAL!" He yelled with a grin before running into the kitchen. Assuming he had already brushed his teeth, you went to brush yours as he got breakfast in order. By the time you finish in the bathroom, the meal is set on the table waiting for you. By meal, I mean a bowl of cereal.
"I'm surprised you didn't immediately start eating once you made your bowl." You teased him as you sat down and started to eat.
"____ I'm not a gremlin, you know." He said, eating at the same time as you.
"You might as well be because you're rushing to go outside."
"You know I love snow." He justified.
"Trust me, I know."
"We can make snowmen. One for you and one for me! Oh, and we can do snow angels! And also-" Taehyun started to ramble before you cut him off.
"You have an itinerary for the snow day?" You asked, surprised at all of the ideas he's throwing your way.
"You don't?" He asked back.
"I didn't even know it was going to snow today, so how could I?"
"You don't have to know if it's going to snow or not to plan ahead." He said as he finished his cereal and placed his bowl in the sink.
"Now hurry up so you can join me in the shower." He said, kissing your forehead before walking towards the bathroom.
"No funny business?" You asked with a raised eyebrow, knowing how he can get sometimes.
"____ this is serious business here." He replied with a huff.
"Let me guess, if I shower WITH you instead of after, we'll have more outside time." You said as you finished your bowl and started washing the dishes.
"Exactly! Now come on!" He said, dragging you away once again after you finished putting the dishes on the drying rack.
Your boyfriend was clearly on a mission as he started to run the water, ensuring it was at the right temperature for you two as you got your clothes ready.
"Baby! The water's warm now!" He called out to you.
"Okay!" You said, scurrying into the bathroom. Seeing your boyfriend so excited made you excited about what he had in store. Finishing up your joint shower, you two put on layer after layer to make sure you were warm and toasty for the outdoors.
Upon stepping foot out the door, Taehyun's whole face lit up as he watched the flakes slowly fall down around him. You snuck videos and photos of him, thinking he looked very cute. Once he saw your phone in your hands, the imaginary lightbulb went off above his head.
"I need to do a tiktok!" He suggested excitedly.
"You want to do tiktoks in the cold like this?" You asked him.
"Not just ANY tiktok babe. I HAVE to do the first snow challenge." You were confused for a moment and then remembered he was referring to the song by EXO.
"I forgot that this song is important this time of year for y'all."
"Yes, now will you please record it for me? I need to post it online."
"You're lucky I didn't put my phone away already." You said jokingly, knowing you would have said yes regardless. You watched him through the screen as he did the dance to the chorus and couldn't help but smile at him. After one take, you showed it to him, and he felt satisfied with it.
"That's perfect! Send it to me so I can post it when we get back inside."
"You don't have your phone on you?" You asked, to which he shook his head no.
"We still need to fulfill the itinerary, remember?"
"How could I forget?" You asked back at him.
Just like he planned for you two, you built snowmen and made snow angels together. You also took pictures for one another in the snow and some selfies as well. After a couple hours, you were starting to get cold and hungry.
"Babyyyy." You whined.
"Yes?"
"I'm hungry, and I'm starting to get cold now." You said, shivering for emphasis.
"Oh no, is my baby getting cold from the snow?" Taehyun asked, cupping your cheeks in his gloved hands.
"Yes, they are, so can we PLEASE go inside?" You said, trying to give him your best puppy dog eyes.
"Of course, baby." He said, giving you a quick kiss. You smiled as you walked back inside the house. You quickly took off your boots after stomping the snow off of the bottom of them and ran to your bedroom to remove your layers and change into something warm as your boyfriend started to prepare lunch for thr two of you.
"Did you enjoy your snow day?" You asked him when you came back.
"Absolutely I did. Next snow day, we're having a snowball fight." He said.
"Oh, you're SO going down! You're lucky I already took everything off because I would've challenged you right now."
"Right, I'M the lucky one." He said sarcastically.
"You are! I've been told I can make a good snowball and I have good aim."
"We'll see for sure next time around."
You spent the rest of the day trying to warm up and watching the kids outside having fun in the snow. Throughout the day, Taehyun found himself singing along to the EXO song that he danced to. You would nod along to his singing, enjoying every time you heard him sing during the day. For your first snow day together, it was truly a great one.
Chapter 27: [Let Me Tie It For You] || San
Chapter Text
You always enjoyed San in his work attire. Sure, it's just a simple suit and tie, but he makes it fantastic each and every time. No matter if you were fully awake or not, you would always insist on doing his tie.
"Baby, you know you don't have to do this for me." He said as you fight the sleep to do his tie.
"I know, but I love doing it for you." You said, letting out a yawn. San couldn't help but smile as he silently watched you complete his tie. He knows that you're satisfied with your work whenever you give him a kiss.
San enjoys this little routine you have developed upon moving in together. Considering you two work in different industries, you don't have to go to work as early as him. If you do end up leaving together, it's because you have an early meeting schedule, and today happens to be one of those days. While it was a semi important meeting for you, today was a very big day for San as he had to give a presentation to his company.
You've noticed that San loves to save his three piece suits for these occasions, and you secretly look forward to those days. While your heart does ache seeing him stress and worry about executing it perfectly, another part of you is practically salivating for the final day to see which suit he picks.
"Should I wear the three piece black suit or the navy one?" He asked you as he held both of them up in front of him. You paused your own clothing search to look at his options at hand.
Letting out a hum, you replied, "Didn't you buy a grey suit recently? Why not that one? A brand new suit for this presentation could help you look and feel more confident."
San stood there confused for a moment before letting out a soft 'ah!' He placed the two suits back on the rack as he searched for the new suit you suggested. You turn back to your search, deciding to wear grey as well to match him.
"Do you want to shower together, or do you want in first?" You asked him as you laid your clothes on your shared bed.
"Together, but no tricks." He said sternly, wagging his finger at you. He then placed his suit next to your clothes on the bed.
Letting out a dramatic gasp, you put a hand over your chest as you said, "Me? Do tricks? San, who do you take me for?"
"Someone who can't keep their hands to these sometimes. Now come on before I change my mind." He said as he walked towards the bathroom. You trailed right behind him, and you two shared a peaceful shower. San practiced some of the talking points of the presentation as you were washing his hair. You enjoyed moments like this with him, not necessarily the calm before the storm but the last moments before the big bang if you will. San was one of the most respected people at work, and he held that close to his heart and his mind.
"Honey, I don't mean to interrupt you here, but the longer we stay in here, the less time we'll have to get ready." You said as you washed off the last bits of soap off.
"Oh!" He exclaimed as he washed the remaining soap off of him before turning off the water. Every time you two showered together, he always made sure that he was the one to quickly reach the towels so you don't have to feel the outside air until you're mostly dried up. San handed you your towel and quickly dried himself off, giving you a quick kiss on the cheek before he left for the bedroom. Drying yourself completely off, you wrapped the towel around you before going to the bedroom as well.
As you two got dressed together, he asked you about your meeting.
"Oh, they just want to make sure everything is good for the first half of the year report for the shareholders." You said, not feeling pressured about it.
"You got it all done already?" He asked as he buttoned his light grey dress shirt.
"Yup, we already did a presentation for our higher-ups two weeks ago, but you know things can always come and surprise you last second." You said as you pulled up your pants. You looked at yourself in the mirror once you had your outfit, smiling when you were satisfied with what you put together.
"Babyyyy." San said, dragging out the last syllable. You turned to see him, loose black tie around his neck waiting for it to be tied by you. You take quick notice how he has his vest on already, unbuttoned.
"What would you do without me?" You teased as you got to work.
"Probably calling my dad to ask him how to do it." He said with a chuckle.
"That man sure knows how to do a lot of things." You replied with a giggle. Once you finished, you took a step back to look at your work. Your eyes were on the tie at first, but you couldn't help but look everyone else and how well the suit fit him. You unconsciously licked your lips as you looked back up at him.
"Is it good?" He asked you, worried since you haven't given him the 'completed tie' kiss yet. You don't say another word as your hand reaches up towards the tie and pulls it, making San stumble in front of you as you kiss him. Only for a second, he doesn't kiss back due to the surprise, but he quickly melts into it. Feeling your level of passion through the kiss, he tries (and succeeds) on matching the same level. His hands land on your hips to keep himself stable, or else he's afraid his knees would have buckled.
Pulling away after what felt like a lifetime, you looked at each other with dilated pupils as you tried to get air back into your lungs.
"I'm guessing this was your best work yet." He said, adjusting the glasses on his face.
"Yeah, I guess you can say that." You said, clearing your throat. You were feeling shy despite taking charge of the situation that had just unfolded.
"I think you just gave me the confidence booster I needed to do this presentation." He said as he buttons up his vest.
"Really?" You said, reaching for his suit jacket to help him put it on.
"Mhmm. I know once I finish with it, I'll not only have a weight lifted off of my shoulders, but I'll have a suit obsessed cutie to come home to." He said with a cheeky grin.
"I can't deny that fact I fear." You said, shaking your head with a smile. San looked at himself in the mirror, liking how the suit looks on him.
"Alright, let's go before traffic gets bad." He said, holding out his hand for you. You took it and walked towards the front door where your keys, bags, and shoes were waiting for you. Once you both were properly ready to leave for work, you two headed out and got in the car for San to drop you off at your job first before heading to his job.
"Are we able to meet for lunch today?" You asked, not ready to leave him just yet."
"I don't think so, they tend to do company lunch after these things." He said with a small pout, growing larger as he saw you frown.
"Oh, I guess I'll see you after work then but don't be afraid to call me after the presentation, okay? Or at the very least text me so I know that you're done with it. " You said, grabbing your stuff together so you can get out of the car.
"Will do, baby. Have fun at your meeting." He said, giving you a kiss. You pull away with a groan, knowing you would be having the opposite of fun during it.
"Good luck baby, you got this!" You said, giving him another big kiss and pulling away with a loud 'mwah' sound. You left the car and waved goodbye to him. He waved back and waited until you were no longer in sight upon walking inside before driving off to work. Although he was still feeling a little fuzzy from your kissing earlier in the morning, he was more than ready to deliver a great presentation with the motivation you've given him.
Chapter 28: [Error 101: Love Not Found] || Wonho
Notes:
Based on a title given to me by my friend Jasmine <3
Chapter Text
You were starting to lose hope. All of these dating apps and failed talking stages had you at your wits end.
"Do you want to try a blind date?" Your friend asked. You rolled your eyes at the thought.
"Never again, I might be losing hope here, but I'm not THAT desperate."
"Bad time, I'm assuming?" They asked with a scrunched up expression, which made you scoff.
"Calling it a bad time is an understatement."
"Maybe the person you want is living abroad."
"I'm NOT about to look like one of those passport people." You said, immediately shutting down that idea.
"I'm not saying you need to do all of that. I'm also not saying that you need to turn this into a '90 Day Fiancé' situation either." They replied.
"So what should I do?" You said, flopping down onto your couch with a groan.
"I don't know, it's not like you can just build yourself a partner." Your friend said as they sat down on your love seat. You slowly raised up your head, turning to them with a wicked grin.
"_____, you're not ACTUALLY taking this literal, are you?" They asked in disbelief, practically seeing the lightbulb above your head.
"You know that I'm crazy enough to do that." You said, immediately getting up and running downstairs to your basement. Your friend was right on your tail as they followed behind you.
"I know I call your basement your lab, but this is a new level of mad scientist, even for you." Your friend said, taking in all of the new additions since the last time they were down there.
"You don't like my gadgets and gizmos?" You asked, showing off the space.
"It's certainly something." They muttered, following right behind you once again. They look up in horror at the newest and largest machine that you stand in front of.
"C-Care to explain what THAT is?" They stuttered, looking up and down at it in bewilderment.
"This, my dear friend, is how I'm going to get my new significant other." You said proudly, patting the side of the machine.
"You got an alien in there or something?" They asked, still looking in bewilderment.
"I'm flattered that you think I'm at that level of science." You said, putting a hand over your heart.
"You might as well be. Is this a teleportation device then?"
"Nope! With this machine, I'll be able to craft my dream person."
"Craft? Like what Frankenstein did with his monster?" They asked with a raised eyebrow, voice uneasy.
"I'm building a boyfriend, not a monster." You said, starting up the machine to get to work.
"But what if he ends up like one?" You looked over your shoulder to see your friend wearing a worried expression on their face.
"I know what I like, and I DONT like monsters. He's going to have all the qualities I like, both physical and personality. He's gonna be big and strong so he can carry me whenever my feet hurt from walking or to move heavy things. He's going to look intimidating but is really a huge softie."
"Anything else?"
"Hmm, maybe brown eyes? I like the way the sun hits them, you know?"
"Just those three things you're doing? No other personality traits? Is he gonna be a gym fanatic? Are you gonna make him musically inclined or what?" Your friend asked, throwing rapid fire questions at you to further the creation.
"Of course he'll be a gym fanatic! How else will he be big and strong?" You asked with a scoff. Your friend opened their mouth to speak, then closed it and waved their hand to cancel whatever they were about to say.
"Are you going to build his personality on the way then?"
"I guess? I've never used this machine before, so I don't want to overload it with requests, you know?"
'I guess you're right. Let's fire this thing up then." Your friend said, giving you the final okay to go ahead with your experiment.
"You might want to back up. I'm not sure how powerful this can get." You warned, waiting for them to take a few steps away before starting the machine.
The lights flickered as the machine was using the power to create your new boyfriend. You two watched in anticipation as the machine startled to rattle a bit before coming to a complete halt. You waited until all the lights came back normally before slowly walking towards the machine.
"Are you ready?" Your friend asked, a couple steps behind you.
"As I'll ever be. Here goes nothing." You said as you took a deep breath before unlatching the door. Smoke cleared out from the chamber, revealing your creation. Your friend let out a loud gasp at what they saw before their eyes, which rendered you speechless. Despite not providing too much information, you've somehow managed to create your dream guy.
"So like...how do you...turn him on? Ew, that sounds sexual but you know what I mean." Your friend asked, immediately cringing at their own phrasing of it.
"I'm not entirely sure. Maybe I have to kiss him awake?"
"Sleeping beauty style? It's worth a shot I guess." They suggested.
"Alright, here goes nothing." You licked your lips before laying a quick kiss on your new boyfriend's lips. Just like a fairytale, his eyes slowly blinked open as if he was woken from him his sleep.
"Oh hi, thanks for waking me." He said, causing you and your friend to gasp in shock.
"Huh, I thought that was only a fairytale thing." They said, unsure how to process what had just happened.
"I guess not." You said softly, still absorbing what had just happened.
"I like fairy-tales! I'm here to be your prince, your knight in shining armor." He said enthusiastically.
"He knows about that stuff?"
"Well duh, he has to have knowledge of things, remember?" You said, as if he was an actual human and not a humanoid robot that you created in your basement.
"Exactly! Did you know that race car is a palindrome? It's when something is spelt the same way forwards and backwards!" He shared, making you and your friend look at each other in shock.
"I didn't know that. Did you know that?" You asked your friend, them shaking their head no in response.
"Glad I could inform you both! By the way, what are your names?" The robot asked, looking at you both curiously. You introduced yourself and your friend followed suit.
"Well it's lovely to meet you both! I imagine I'll be seeing you two around!" He said cheerfully, making you and your friend smile.
"You definitely will be seeing them around as they're a close friend of mine and you'll be seeing me around a lot because you'll be living with me."
"Sounds fun! However, I do have one question to ask if that's alright."
"Of course it's alright! What's your question." You asked him.
"What's my name?" You were stunned to silence as you had no name ideas.
"____, did you really not think this far ahead?!" Your friend asked, perplexed by your silence.
"You saw how fast I ran down here, of course I didn't think this far ahead so any name suggestions would be greatly appreciated right now." You said in a frenzy. Your friend walked up to him, taking in all of his features.
"Hmm, he looks like a Wonho to me."
"Wonho...I like that." He replied.
"Alright, then, that settles it! Welcome to the world Wonho! Now let's get you fully out of this pod." You said with a grin. He smiled back at you as he allowed you and your friend to pull him out.
"We're gonna have to go shopping for you, Wonho." You stated.
"Yeah and build a backstory for you because you can't go around telling people that you came out of ____'s basement. I'm talking childhood stories, career, hobbies, the love story of you and ____. You got a life to live out now!" They said, patting his back before recoiling their hand back in pain.
"I'm sorry, are you okay?" Wonho asked in a concerned tone.
"Yeah...forgot you don't have regular human body mass. It'll go away quickly, don't worry." They replied, shaking the pain away from their hand.
You led the two of them out of the basement and you gave Wonho a house tour. Despite him being a robot stored with loads of knowledge, you still have to teach him how to act more "human."
"_____?" Your friend asked after the tour was over.
"Yeah?"
"How's the sleeping situation going to work out for him because wouldn't he need to be...charged overnight?"
"Not like every night but I guess I'll have to make a charging bed or something." You said, scratching your head in thought.
"If anyone can do it, it's you!" Wonho said enthusiastically, giving you a confidence booster.
"Thank you Wonho! I guess words of affirmation is my love language because you're so well with that." You said, blushing at the realization.
"My job is to be the best boyfriend to you!" He said with a shy smile.
"If things don't work out for me in the dating world, I might have to pay that machine a visit." Your friend commented.
"Just say the word." You replied with a wink.
"Well, Wonho, it's nice meeting you but I do have to head home. I'll see you around!" Your friend said, bidding him goodbye.
"Okay! Bye bye!" He said with a wave as you walked your friend to the front door.
"You better not mess them up with him." Your friend whispered to you in a slightly threatening tone.
"How are you already pinning it on me?"
"You built the guy, remember? I have no other choice BUT to pin it on you."
"Yeah...you're right. Anyways, get home safe! Let me know when you reach home."
"Will do, boss." They said, giving you a quick hug goodbye before leaving.
Turning back to face your new boyfriend, you smiled at him as you can see he wanted to ask you something.
"Can I try and lay down? You know, just to see what it feels like?" Wonho asked shyly, scratching the back of his neck.
"Of course you can! Follow me!" You lead him to your bedroom. You laid down on the bed and he cautiously followed suit. You bit back a giggle as he tried to match your position, which was just laying flat on your back.
"Do you just sleep like this all night?"
"No, you can sleep on either side or on your stomach. Whichever makes you the most comfortable." You demonstrated each one, him copying you once you're in place.
"This is a nice bed, very comfortable for optimal sleep."
"I'll make sure your charging bed is just as comfortable." You said a wink, making Wonho's cheeks turn a faint pink.
"But...what if..I want to sleep next to you sometimes?" He said nervously, looking at you in-between every word.
"Then I'll let you." You replied, easing his nerves.
"Okay...that's great. Thank you."
The two of you laid there in silence as you got used to each other's presence. Wonho spoke up after a while, asking a question he had in his mind.
"So uh, what nicknames do I call you? Do you like baby, or honey?"
"Hmm, I'm not sure actually. Those two are good though so you can use those for now. What about you?" Wonho's face scrunched up in thought at the return of the question.
"I like those too."
"Okay then, honey." You replied with a playful wink. The tips of Wonho's ears turned red as he tried to fight his blush.
"Sounds good, baby." He said, causing you to giggle.
Over the next few days, you've been introducing him to every day "human" activities such as shopping for his new wardrobe, going to parks and the library, as well as introducing him to your hobbies. Over time, Wonho has developed hobbies of his own. He's picked up on going to the gym and keeping up with his physique. He also discovered that he can sing so his voice has now filled the silence of your home with a beautiful noise from time to time.
He has also started to build a day to day routine for himself. Recently, he added a morning jog to the mix, helping him keep up with his build. He's even considered joining a run club to make new friends!
"____, a girl tried to flirt with me today and I froze." Your boyfriend said with a huff after coming back from his morning jog.
"Like...literally or?" You asked, twisting your face in confusion.
"Kinda? It was as if I had to recalibrate myself before letting her down gently."
"Did she take it well?"
"She tried the 'We can be friends' route after." He responded, causing you to let out a groan as you rolled your eyes.
"I knew you would be dealing with people throwing themselves at you but this is getting ridiculous." You said, pinching your nose bridge.
"You made me this way, remember?"
"I know." You said with a huff and a pout, crossing your arms.
"Aww baby, it's okay." Wonho replied, coming over to give you a hug and a kiss on the top of your head. "You're the only one I have my eyes on. My heart only beats for you."
"But you don't have-"
"Don't ruin it." You let out a sigh as you wrapped your arms around him. Sure, it would feel nice to hear his heart beating but you can't give a robot a human heart. You bit back a frown, not wanting Wonho to sense your sadness.
Over the next couple of months, you've built Wonho his charging bed and he's only really slept in it when he's nearly about to run out of power. He's enjoyed sleeping next to you every night and so do you...well, you did. You see, your relationship with Wonho has been going so well, so perfect. A bit too perfect and it's starting to mess with your head.
"I genuinely believe that I'm the problem." You said as soon as your friend opened their front door.
"Context would be nice, you know." They said as they stepped aside to let you in. You don't even sit down and just start pacing up and down their living room as you start to provide context.
"You want context? I'll give you context. Wonho is so perfect, the absolute BEST, and I'm getting annoyed by it. I'm getting sad that he doesn't have a real heartbeat. I don't know if I'm just so used to having to deal with nonsensical arguments and drama in my past relationships that now that there isn't any, it's getting...boring? He's genuinely so great, robot aside, but like...I don't know."
"Alright, first off, you need to sit down before your wear out the bottom of your shoes from pacing so hard." Your friend said, pulling you to sit down on the couch with them. "Secondly, can't you just add a heartbeat to him to make him more realistic? Add a flaw or two?"
"I don't think I can put him in the machine and add these things. You should have never encouraged me to make him."
"Nuh uh, what we're NOT about to do is pass the blame on me. I said it as a joke and you took it literally. You built your dream man and he's still not dreamy enough for you. I'm not sure you know exactly what you want in a person if you put all of these qualities together and you're not happy with him." They replied, being brutally honest.
"So what do I do?"
"BREAK UP WITH HIM? WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO?" They exclaimed.
"I CAN'T BREAK UP WITH A ROBOT, THAT'S WEIRD!" You yelled back.
"So it's weird to break up with him but it wasn't weird building him?" They asked, questioning your hypocrisy.
"I didn't think it would get to this point." You said defensively.
"I'm going to hold your hands when I say this, okay?" They started, reaching out for your hands to hold in theirs.
"I know you're gonna read me like a book, but go ahead." You said, bracing yourself as your held their hands.
"You wouldn't be in this mess if you didn't act so hastily. You went on some bad dates and you resorted to building a boyfriend instead of just taking a break from dating. Since you think breaking up is weird, you're going to have to pull the plug on him and maybe never use that machine again." Silence filled their living room as you digested their words. You let out a heavy sigh as you hanged your head down in shame.
"But I feel bad to shut him down." You said in a quiet tone.
"Well you can't send him out on the world on his own. People will catch on that he's not human. Since you can't make any adjustments to him, you'll be able to explain that you're doing it out of fear and love for him."
"I kind of hate that you're right about all of this." You said, letting go of their hands to cross your arms and pout at them.
"It's a gift and a curse." They said, causing you to giggle for the first time that day.
"I just wish I didn't build him that charging bed before coming to this conclusion." You said, standing up with a stretch.
"You can always use the parts for another project, or just have it as one huge charging dock for multiple devices." They suggested.
"Huh, I'll keep that in mind. But seriously, thank you so much for getting me through this mess I put myself in."
"Of course! Good luck and I'll be here if you're feeling the blues." They replied, pulling you in for a hug before opening the door for you to leave.
The walk home was longer than usual as you tried to figure the words you wanted to say to Wonho. You really hated that you have to do this to him...then again he IS a robot so it should be fine, right? Once you finally reached home, you took a deep breath before unlocking your door.
"_____! You're home! Is everything okay with your friend?" Wonho greeted you warmly, making your heart ache knowing how the conversation is going to play out.
"Yeah, yeah, they're good now. They said hello."
"Oh, I'm glad. You came just in time, your food arrived."
"Did you order food for me?" You asked, voice cracking a bit.
"Yup! It's from that one place you like by the gym!" Wonho said with a bright smile and excited tone. You started to smile back at him but tears started to quickly form in your eyes. His face instantly formed into an expression of concern as your knees gave out and sank to the floor. Without missing a beat, he sat down on the floor with you and rocked you side to side as you sobbed.
"Do you not like that place anymore or?" Wonho asked nervously, unsure of what's wrong.
"N-No, I still like it." You stuttered as you tried to stop yourself from crying.
"Then what's wrong? Did something happen with your friend that you're not telling me?" Hearing that question made you cry even harder, which resulted in him holding you tighter in his embrace. After minutes of crying, your tear ducts dried and you could only let out sniffles.
"I don't like what we talked about." You started, trying to drag it out.
"What happened?" You stared at the wall, trying to form the right words for this.
"They...We...We're afraid that people are on to you."
"On to me? On to me how?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"That you might not be human." You whispered.
"Oh...I see. Is there anything that you can do?" He asked, hoping that there could be a solution of sorts. You swallowed the lump in your throat as you sadly shook your head and hung it low in shame.
"Look at me...please." He pleaded. You slowly looked at him with bloodshot eyes and a frown.
"So this is it for me, huh? For us?" He asked, slowly accepting defeat.
"Unfortunately, yes. If I could, I would add a heartbeat to you and make you more realistic but I can't. I'm so sorry." You apologized, eyes starting to turn glassy as new tears were ready to fall down. A single tear ran down, not fully falling down your cheek as Wonho brushed it off your face.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. I understand. I know you're doing this out our safety."
"Wait...you're not mad at me for this?"
"You made me understanding, remember? Even if you didn't, I would get it. Now come on, your food is getting cold." He said, helping you up onto your feet and bringing you to the dining room table to eat. Wonho was going to go and sit at the other end of the table when you grabbed his hand.
"Can you...sit next to me instead? If that's alright with you."
"Of course." He said softly, smiling at you. You smiled back at him as he sat down next to you. It felt bittersweet to be eating one of your favorite meals next to your soon to be ex boyfriend who was also a robot. After you finished your meal, you turned to look at him again.
"Do you know what percentage you're at?"
"I'm running low on charge."
"Okay, we'll just let you go down to zero percent." You said with a sad sigh, reaching out to hold his hands.
"____, I'll be okay. Promise me you won't beat yourself up over this...please?" He asked, holding your hands in his.
"I promise, baby, I promise." You responded with a smile.
"That's my honey."
You both heard a beeping sound, alerting that he was currently at 5%.
"Baby?"
"Yes, baby?"
"Can you sing for me one last time?" You shyly asked.
"Of course! Any song in particular?"
"No...whatever song you want is fine with me."
"Okay." He closed his eyes, thinking of the perfect song. Once he started to sing, you realized he chose the first song that you showed him. Pulling you up to your feet, you two danced around your house, ending up in your basement...the room where it all started. He was even able to sing a second song before a second beep was heard, alerting that he was at 2% now.
"I guess that's the end of the road for me." He said sadly.
"Yeah..." You said with a frown.
"It was an honor to be your boyfriend."
"You're the best boyfriend I ever had." You expressed which made him smile.
"I hope you find a more human love that reminds you of me."
"Nobody can compare to you, Wonho, but I hope so too."
"One last hug?" He asked, opening up his arms.
"One last hug." You step into his embrace, enjoying it for one last time. Pulling away, you can see the brightness of his eyes starting to dim.
"Take care of yourself, ____. Do it for me." He said, cupping your cheek in his hand. You leaned into his touch as you nodded.
"I will. I'll do it for you."
"Goodbye, ____. You're great." He said as his body started to shut down. Wonho was stiff in place, and you were stiff in yours.
"Goodbye, Wonho. You were great too." You replied, sad that he didn't get to hear you say it. You moved away from him as you manually moved his arm done and push him back into the chamber. You weren't sure what to do with him just yet so you would leave him in there for now. Looking at him for the final time of the night, you gave him a soft kiss on the nose before closing the chamber door and walking upstairs.
You called your friend afterwards, notifying them that it's done. They expressed that they're proud of you and you did the right thing, no matter how guilty you feel. After talking for a while, you hung up and stared at your ceiling for a bit.
"Guess we're back to square one, ____."
Chapter 29: [Calvin Klein Campaign] || Mingyu
Notes:
Based on a request from my friend!!
Chapter Text
You were a makeup artist who worked mainly for Calvin Klein ads. Sure, you have done your fair share of work for other brands, but Calvin keeps calling you back. This time around, you were going to be working with Mingyu from the group SEVENTEEN. You've heard of them before through your friends but you weren't too familiar with their music and their members individually. When you mentioned to your friends who you would be working with, they obviously started to freak out.
"Mingyu?! Kim Mingyu?!" Your friend asked, making sure that they heard correctly.
"____, you're about to meet the literal definition of long, tan, and handsome!" Your other friend said excitedly.
"I guess I am." Your friends looked at each other in disbelief, surprised at your neutral tone.
"You don't sound excited at ALL." One friend observed.
"Yeah, what gives?" Your other friend pointed out, causing you to shrug your shoulders.
"It's going to be like any other shoot that I've worked on." You replied.
"Okay but those other people weren't Mingyu." They retorted, making you sigh and shake your head.
"You two really like this Mingyu guy, huh?" You asked, looking between the two of you. They both obnoxiously nodded their heads, emphasizing their point.
"I know they have that 'no outsiders' rule but like..." One of them trailed off, hoping you can say that the rule lifted.
"It's still in place. In fact, they made it very clear to everyone that no outsiders can come for this shoot." You replied, breaking the news to them. They both let out groans, whining about how they wouldn't cause trouble.
"I know you two wouldn't but they have to play it safe, no matter how much they trust me." You further explained.
"I guess that makes sense." Your friend said with a pout, crossing their arms with a huff.
"Can you at least sneak pictures for us?" Your other friend asked, hoping for some sort of early access.
"You know I always do. I need behind the scenes photos to post online too, remember?" You said, your friends letting out squeals in excitement.
"Tell him we said hello!"
"I'll try my best. You know it can get hectic at these shoots."
When shoot day finally arrived, you went in with the usual mindset: get in, do your job, be friendly and professional, and get out. Everything was going well as usual as you set up your station.
"_____, there you are! I heard you came in but I didn't see you." The director of the shoot said after knocking on the door.
"Oh hey, you were speaking with some people so I didn't want to interrupt. I just used the time to set my station for Mingyu." You replied, meeting them in the middle to give them a hug hello.
"Mingyu, this is ____, our makeup artist for this shoot. You're going to be in great hands. Whenever I do a shoot, they're the one I call." You waved your hand in dismissal, slightly blushing from the compliment.
"Oh, stop it, you." You said with a playful wink. "Nice to meet you, Mingyu, I'll be your make up artist for today." You said, turning your attention to him and extending your hand out for him to shake.
"Nice to meet you as well, ____. Looking forward to working with you." Mingyu responded, shaking your hand.
"Alright boss, what's the vision this time around?" You asked, turning your attention back to the director.
"____, you know I trust you. Go at it."
"You're giving me free range?" You asked in shock.
"Do you prefer if I told you a vision?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I mean, I'm fine either way. It's just that you've never asked me to do whatever I wanted before."
"And today is that day. Oh, wait, there IS something you need to do." He runs out the room and comes back with a mini bottle of baby oil.
"I need you to lather up with his arms and chest with this."
"You want me to do WHAT?!" You asked incredulously.
"You heard me, love you, bye!" He said, rushing out the room and closing the door behind him. All you could do was stare at the door in disbelief in silence.
"I could put it on myself if it makes you uncomfortable." Mingyu spoke, breaking the silence and snapping you out of your daze simultaneously.
"I-Well, it's not that I'm uncomfortable with it. Are you okay with me doing that?" You nervously asked, him nodding his head in response.
"I've heard great things about you so I trust your judgment. If it makes you feel better, I can do my chest and you can do my arms?" He said, offering a compromise.
"But I don't want your hands all oily." You said with a frown. You quickly fixed your face and straightened up your posture.
"It's okay, Mingyu, I got this. We'll do your makeup, which won't really be a lot because you already look great without it, and then I'll put the oil. Sound good?" You explained your process with a smile.
"Sounds good." He said, smiling back at you. You got to work on his makeup as you mentally prepared yourself for what was next to come. Saying a quick little prayer to not embarrass yourself in front of him, you opened the bottle and poured some oil onto your palm.
"I imagine this is a first for you." You said, lathering up his left arm.
"Working with Calvin Klein or getting oil put on me?"
"The latter."
"You'd be surprised." You let out a gasp as he chuckled.
"I can't blame whoever else wanted to, you have a nice figure and a beautiful skintone." You praised, making him blush a little bit.
"Thank you." He said shyly.
"Oh, I just remembered. I have friends that are fans of yours and your group and they said hello." You said, doing his right arm now.
"Oh you have carat friends? That's so cool! Tell them I said hi! Are you one, by chance?"
"I am now." You said without missing a beat. Your hands froze in place for a moment before quickly retracting them and putting more oil on your hands.
"Are you now?" He asked in a teasing voice.
"ANYWAYS, are you ready for me to do your chest now?"
"Go right ahead." You took a deep breath as you rubbed your hands together and started placing the oil along his chest and torso. You distracted yourself with small talk, saying how your friends loved the concerts and always recommended you their music.
"Do you have a favorite song?"
"Not yet but I've liked everything that I heard so far." You said, causing him to smile.
"Mingyu, we're ready for you!" The director called out.
"Alright, it's your time to shine." You said, looking between him and the doorknob. He gets the hint and opens the door, allowing you to exit first so you can wash your hands. As you promised your friends, you took some behind the scenes photos to show them the next time you all meet up. The shoot went successfully and he came into the room to get his makeup removed.
"You did great today, Mingyu! I know your fans are going to go wild after they see these photos."
"I hope they like it." He said, bashfully. It was silent for a moment as you finished removing his makeup.
"Alright, I'm all done! It was so great working with you Mingyu!" You said with a smile.
"Likewise, ____. Considering how popular you are, I wouldn't be surprised if we run into each other again in the future." He said, smiling back.
"Maybe we will. Get home safe!" You said.
"You too!" You two waved goodbye as he went to change back into his regular clothes. As you packed up your station, the director knocked on the door.
"____! You did such a good job with his makeup!"
"You really think so? I didn't want to do too much."
"And that's genius! Love working with you as always." He said, pulling you into a hug. You reciprocated the hug, giving him a little squeeze.
"And before I let you go, I was asked to give this to you." He said, pulling out a little business card. You looked at him with suspicion as you took it.
"What's this?"
"I don't know but I was told you'd like it." He said, walking out the room as he waved goodbye. You waved bye back as you pocketed the card. You resume your packing and leave the set once you're done, making sure to see goodbye to everyone and thanking them for their hard work. Once you get into your car after placing everything in the trunk, you reach to look for the business card you were given.
Looking down, you see it has Mingyu's name on it with his business contact details. Out of curiosity, you turned the card over and see a hand written note. It reads, "Let me know when you find your favorite song of ours ;)" alongside with his number. You blinked in disbelief but you felt your face flushed as well.
"I guess I really need to do a deep dive into these guys now, huh?" You said to yourself with a scoff. You pocketed back the card, putting on your seatbelt and driving back home. Usually you listen to whatever is on the radio or your playlist, but this time, you went ahead and picked a random album to listen to. You bit back a smile as you knew you couldn't tell your friends EVERYTHING that happened today. That would be you and Mingyu's secret for now.
Chapter 30: [Ghost Of You] || Changkyun
Notes:
Loosely based off of the song "Ghost Of You" by 5 Seconds of Summer. I had this idea in my notes for years so it's about time I wrote it 😭
Chapter Text
Changkyun hasn't been the same since that unfortunate day, the day that you got into a car accident. He blames himself for your death, no matter who tells him it's the driver who did it.
If you two didn't have that argument, if he didn't let it escalate to the point of you storming out of the apartment.
He has nightmares about that night and it's evident in his face that he hasn't been sleeping well. Dark circles and deep eye bags emphasizing the weight of his sadness and guilt, a physical reminder of his grieving. In his sleep, he'll experience different variations of that argument...that stupid argument. If he wasn't so stubborn and in his own head, you would still be here with him.
It all started when you voiced your concern over him coming home late at night and leaving super early in the morning. You barely saw and heard from him and you were getting worried. You had to talk to him about it one day and that night was the night. He was coming home earlier than he had been the past few weeks so you seized the opportunity to have a proper sit down.
"Changkyun we need to talk."
That sentence haunts him in his sleep because that was the sentence that started it all. You were simply trying to be heard by him but he was so overwhelmed with frustration, he wouldn't have it. He reacted in a way that he rarely had before and NEVER in a way he had with you. You rushed to pack a bag, not wanting to see him after being yelled at like that. You ran and ran, him trying to catch up. You had the right of way but out of nowhere, the car came by so fast, hitting you. Changkyun looked in horror as the car made impact with you. He prayed to the mighty gods in hopes that you would survive this but his prayers were left unanswered.
Your side of the bed remains untouched, left exactly how you left it that morning. You usually make your bed but for whatever reason, you were feeling lazy so you didn't. He refuses to lay in the middle of the bed, believing that if he does, it'll take your presence away from the bed you two once shared together.
All traces of you were left exactly as they were. Your slippers were still by the front door, your coffee mug was still on the dining table. It felt like the apartment was frozen in time and Changkyun made sure to preserve your memory in that apartment.
His friends, family and band members have all came to see him throughout the weeks, doing what they can to support him through this dark time. Months have gone by and while everyone understood that grief varies for each other, they were all concerned for his general wellbeing. The members decided to all stop by and have an intervention of some sort to help him get out of his guilt.
Upon hearing the doorbell, Changkyun dragged his feet over to the door and looked through the peephole. He was surprised to see all of the members on the other side of the door.
"If the company sent you all here as a way to guilt trip me out of my hiatus, it won't work." Changkyun said once he opened the door, not even greeting them hello.
"The company didn't send us here. We all decided to come here together. We're worried about you." Kihyun said. He looked at everyone's faces to see if they were lying and he could tell they were all telling the truth. He let out a heavy sigh before letting everyone inside.
"Have you eaten yet?" Jooheon asked as he took off his shoes.
"Yeah, my mom was here earlier and didn't leave until I ate everything." He replied, the tiniest crack of a smile on his face remembering his mother's persistence.
"That's good, do you want a snack or anything? I have some in my bag." Shownu offered, Changkyun then shaking his head no.
"No thanks, I'm good." Shownu blinked at him twice before reaching into his bag anyways and placing mini bags of chips on the coffee table.
"Hyung I-"
"For later or whenever you want a snack." Shownu replied, cutting him off.
"Okay...thank you." He said with a nod.
Everyone sits around the living room, silently watching whatever was playing on the TV. The guys looked between each other and Changkyun, trying to figure out who would start the intervention.
"Changkyun...you can't stay in this apartment forever. I mean, isn't your lease ending soon?" Hyungwon asked Changkyun, breaking the silence so abruptly.
"I renewed it." He mumbled in response.
"You did?!" Minhyuk asked in shock.
"Why shouldn't I? If I move anywhere else, then it won't feel like ____ is there with me." Changkyun reasoned.
"But you're suffocating in here." Wonho said in a pitiful tone.
"It's what I deserve. I'll pay the price as long as I live." He defended, crossing his arms and staring straight at the TV. The members all looked at each other with expressions of defeat, knowing that there was no use.
"But you can bring ____'s memory with you everywhere you go. They'll always be in your heart." Kihyun said, hoping that could convince the maknae.
"It's not that simple as you make it out to be." He responded, looking over at Kihyun.
"Elaborate then." Shownu said.
"It's just...this is where we moved into together, our first apartment. There are so many memories in this place that I can't replicate anywhere else. Even with my memories and bringing their belongings over, it won't be the same." Changkyun said, voice getting quiet towards the end.
"That makes sense. We won't push you about finding a new place but can you at least hang out with us again? It feels weird not having you there." Wonho asked, hands clasped together. Changkyun looked at each member individually before letting out a soft sigh.
"I guess I could use some fresh air. ____ wouldn't want me cooped up in here like this."
"Yeah!" The guys cheered but Changkyun quickly stood up to halt the celebration.
"BUT, not tonight. Today is what, Thursday?" He said, trying to look at the calendar on the before. Jooheon confirmed for him that it is, in fact, Thursday.
"Yeah so not tonight, but tomorrow night. Just don't expect me to be a party animal or anything."
"Of course not! We're just happy that you're going out with us!"
"TOMORROW IS BOYS NIGHT!" Minhyuk exclaimed, causing the others to chant in unison. Changkyun felt a smile grow on his face, eventually joining in on the chant. He looked up into the mirror by the door for a brief moment, and he froze in place. The chants were still going on around him as he walked towards it. He isn't sure if his eyes are playing tricks on him or not, but he's looking right at you. Afraid to talk out loud since the guys are still there in the living room, he looks in confusion and bewilderment.
"You'll be okay, Changkyun. I'm okay." You said. He turned around, not seeing you behind him and only seeing you inside of the mirror. He gave you a bittersweet smile and you smiled back at him.
"Just like the guys said, no matter where you go, I'll always be there. I love you and it's not your fault. Please believe me when I say that." You pleaded, Changkyun then closing his eyes to fight back tears and nodding his head.
"You okay there, buddy?" Shownu asked, coming up behind him and patting his shoulder. Changkyun looked up into the mirror again, not seeing you in it anymore. He nodded his head once again.
"Yeah...I think I'm going to be okay. I just have to mentally prepare myself to go out again, you know?"
"I understand. Listen, we're gonna go but we're so excited to see you tomorrow night!" He replied, giving the maknae a big hug, lifting him off of his feet for a bit due to his strength. Changkyun let out a 'woah!' as he wasn't expecting to be lifted up like that. Everyone else then followed suit in giving him a hug goodbye before putting their shoes back on and leaving the apartment. Once he closed the door behind them and locked it, he leaned against it and looked around the apartment.
His feet moved on their own as he grabbed a snack from the coffee table and headed into the kitchen. As he ate his snack, he found himself doing a slow dance just like he would with you. He knows it doesn't feel the same with you but getting the confirmation that you're okay and that you still love him despite what he had done in the hour of your death makes this first dance a bit easier to do.
Chapter 31: [Birthday Concert] || Open Choice
Notes:
Although it's not my birthday anymore (it was May 28th), this is still a birthday gift from myself to you all :)
Chapter Text
You didn't make a big deal out of your birthday and your partner didn't like that.
"But it's a special day! You should be doing SOMETHING for your birthday."
"I don't know WHAT to do! People usually forget my birthday anyways so I just save my time and money by being chill about it." They sported a deep frown but you quickly kissed it away with a few repeated pecks on the cheek. They erupted into giggling, moving away from you with a smile.
"Okay, but seriously, we're doing something. I'LL PLAN IT!" They said enthusiastically.
"You won't let up, will you?" You asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Nope." They said with a big grin, making you let out a sigh of defeat.
"Alright then, have fun planning my birthday."
"YAY! It's going to be the best birthday you'll EVER have!" They exclaimed confidently, giving you a big kiss on the cheek before running off to start planning. You watched them, shaking your head with a sigh and a smile.
For days, you've been seeing them hard at work on their computer, looking for different activities to do. Any time you try to sneak a peek, they would quickly close the laptop or turn off their phone screen. It would be the same conversation every single time.
"Babyyyy." They said with a whine.
"I can't get even the tiniest bit of a hint?" You asked.
"Nope, BUT trust me, it'll be worth the wait."
"But I wanna know now." You whined back, stomping your feet for emphasis.
"Just a few more days. I promise it'll be worth the wait."
"Ugh, fine." You said, rolling your eyes with a pout.
"Aw, c'mon baby dont like that." They said, pulling you into their arms for a hug and pressing a kiss to your temple.
"I just wanna know what you got going on for me." You replied, wrapping your arms around them.
"And you will! Just on the day of. Don't you trust me?" They asked, looking at you.
"I do but I'm just curious, that's all." You said defensively.
"There's nothing wrong with that but your birthday is getting closer and closer, so you'll have to be patient just a little longer. Can you do that for me?"
"Ugh, I guess I can." You agreed reluctantly.
"Great baby. Now c'mon, let's watch that one movie you were talking about the other day."
Just like you promised your partner, you were patient for the next remaining days. You also stopped asking because you already knew what they would say. On the night before your birthday, they let you open one of your presents early to reward you for your patience. You let out a loud gasp when you took it out the gift bag.
"You're LYING!" You exclaimed, not believing what you were seeing.
"I'm telling you the truth, darling." You looked back and forth between the gift and them in disbelief.
"How did you know?! Did I even mention this to you?" You asked, sporting an expression mixed of confusion and shock.
"Well, you didn't MENTION it per say. We were in the mall together one day and you were kept looking back at this. When you didn't go back and get it before we left, I just knew I had to get it for you."
You felt yourself getting teary eyed at the explanation. Your feet moved on their own as you went to give them a big hug.
"Thank you so much."
"Of course, baby. Anything for you."
The morning of your birthday was filled with many great things. First, they started off with breakfast in bed with all of your favorites. Then, they took you to lunch at the restaurant you've been wanting to try. During the afternoon, they told you to get changed into an outfit they prepared for you. Upon seeing the outfit, you looked at it in confusion.
"Um, I don't own this shirt?" You said, picking it up in your hands.
"This shirt is your answer as to where we're going." They said with a smile. Your head whipped back down to see your favorite artist right in the front.
"WE'RE GOING TO A CONCERT?!"
"YEP! I managed to get tickets at a good price for us!"
You squealed with joy as you bounced around. You thanked them a plethora a times before finally focusing on getting ready for the concert.
Once you both were dressed and ready to go, after eating dinner beforehand of course, you two headed to the venue. You were making predictions as to what songs were going to be on the set list.
After checking into the venue with your tickets, your eyes landed right at the merch stand.
"There's no line, can we take a look?" You asked them, trying to give your best puppy dog eyes.
"Baby, I was going to tell you to pick whatever you want anyways." They said with a chuckle, pulling into that direction.
"But you've already spent so much on me."
"And I'll spend even more. I'll buy you the whole table if you asked me to." They said, ensuring that they don't have a problem with paying for you. Scanning through the options, you settled for a new t-shirt and a baseball cap.
"We have to get inside, I think the show is going to start soon!" They exclaimed, you two rushing inside to get a good spot as this was a general admission show.
The show went on and you were right about your predictions! You were happy to hear your favorite songs being performed and your partner watched you lose yourself to the music with a lovestruck grin on their face. When the show came to an end, you had a heart to heart talk on the way home.
"You really pulled out all the stops for me today. I truly can't thank you enough for making today so special."
"I feel like I haven't pulled them ALL out, but I'm glad you enjoyed everything. It's what you deserve. Trust me though, next year? Oh, it's going to be even bigger."
"Are you already planning for my next birthday?"
"Maybe I am...maybe I'm not. You'll just have to wait until next year."
"You know I'm going to get impatient."
"I guess I can give you hints this time to play nice." They teased, ticking your side.
"Please do, that would be greatly appreciated." You said in the midst of your giggles.
When you finally called it a night, you went to bed with a smile on your face. They truly showed you that you ARE loved and cared for and you couldn't be any happier.
Chapter 32: [Am I Worthy?] || Jihyo
Notes:
First ever concept written with a woman!! Super late to the party I know but better late than never!
Chapter Text
Ever since you started dating Jihyo, you've been feeling mixed emotions. Although primarily the happy ones are towards the relationship, you can't help but think about the insecure voice in the back of your mind. Whenever you two would be out together, you would get weird looks. You can tell by the back and forth glances between you and her that people were trying to figure out how you could have possibly pulled her.
Jihyo is quite observant. She's noticed the shift in your body language, the tighter grip when you hold her hand. She noticed it all. Jihyo didn't want to confront you about it right away, fearing that the conversation won't go well, so she kept it on the back burner.
You two were currently sitting on beach towels, watching the sun set after your beach date. As you're watching the sky change colors and listen to the sounds of the waves, you couldn't help but ponder over all of the looks and remarks people made towards you. It was like you were invisible to them, some blatantly flirting with her in your face. You knew that you couldn't keep quiet any longer so you decided to rip off the bandaid.
"Am I worthy?" You asked your girlfriend out of the blue.
"Worthy of what?" Jihyo asked in confusion.
"To be dating you." You mumbled, but she heard you loud and clear.
She instantly whipped her head around to look at you in disbelief.
"Of course you are, are you kidding me?" She asked back at you, almost angry at you for asking such a question. "Why do you think you're not worthy to be with me?"
"Because the general public doesn't think so." You said, finally turning to look at her.
"I don't care about these nobodies think. They're not you and none of them could EVER replace you." She expressed honestly, turning her whole body to face you.
"Everyone is trying to though." You said, turning your body to face her, then looking at your hands. Jihyo reaches over and holds your hands in hers, giving them a squeeze.
"_____, look at me." She pleaded.
"Are you mad at me for asking that?" You asked nervously.
"No, it's not your fault that outside people made you feel this way."
"I mean, I knew people were always trying to flirt with you before we were together. I just thought that maybe it would stop once we got together but I was clearly wrong."
"Well people always want what they can't have. More people have flirted with me since we've been together but even when you're not with me, I'm quick to reject them." She admitted, causing your eyes to widen.
"Really?" You asked in shock.
"Of course! Why would I waste their time? Plus, none of their pick up lines are good."
"But I didn't use a pick up line on you." You said with furrowed eyebrows.
"Exactly, which is what made you stand out to me out of all the rest. You're truly one of a kind. You're mine and I'm yours." She said, staring deeply into your eyes. You stared back into hers but the longer you looked, the more you felt the urge to cry for some reason. She could see it in your face and reacted immediately.
"Oh no, baby, c'mere." Jihyo said, pouting while pulling you onto her lap. Once you sat down, you immediately started to cry into her shoulder. She rubbed your back, swaying you side to side. She kept doing so until your cries came to an stop.
"I just wish people would see me as your partner. They don't even take me seriously when I say that. They don't even believe you when you say it."
"____, as long as you and I are together, who cares what other people sees us as. We know we're together and that's all that matters at the end of the day. You and me and no one else." She expressed wholeheartedly.
"You and me and no one else." You repeated back to her. You gave her a small smile, Jihyo giving you a big grin.
"Are you ready to go home? Or do you want to eat out? It's almost dinner time." She asked, seeing the sky getting darker in color.
"Let's get something to go so we can eat at home." You suggested. Giving you a big kiss on your lips and a frenzy of pecks on your cheeks, you got off of her lap in a fit of giggles. Once you packed up everything, you two headed back to the car and decided to get fast food through the drive thru. You fed her some fries as she drove you two home since she was already feeling a bit hungry, but not enough to pull over and start eating in the car.
"Do we really need to bring all this stuff inside?" You asked with a groan, referring to the stuff you brought to the beach.
"Yes we do, honey. We can't keep the beach in our car forever."
"Fine..." You dragged out with a sigh. "But I'm bringing the food inside first!"
"Copy that." She started to unload the car as you went inside to drop off the food. You weren't even gone that long and by the time you came back, almost everything was unloaded.
"Wow you work fast." You said, amazed at the speed of which she moved.
"You work faster on a time crunch. Now come and help so we can eat." You rushed in and out of the garage, cleaning up and putting things in place. In record time, you two were sitting in front of the television and eating your food of off the coffee table.
"Did you enjoy the beach today?" You asked her, to which she nodded.
"I did. How about you?"
"I did too. Thanks for reassuring me, by the way."
"No need to thank me. It's one of my jobs as your girlfriend." She said, making you unconsciously break out into a huge grin.
"You like the sound of me saying that I'm your girlfriend, huh?" She teased, causing you to blush.
"Can you blame me though?" You asked back, Jihyo shaking her head no.
"I don't blame you at all."
It felt great knowing that you managed to pull Jihyo but it feels even greater knowing that she's proud to be your partner.
