Chapter Text
An and Kohane were cooing over something in the corner of An’s room when Touya and Akito walked back in. They’d gone to retrieve dinner from Ken-san downstairs, leaving the girls to pack up the board game they’d been playing. They had not, in fact, done this. It had just been shoved under the desk. Half of the tokens were put away (certainly Kohane’s doing), but that was about it. Touya deposited his tray on the table in the middle of the room, his attention drawn to the girls.
“What is it?” he couldn’t help but ask, walking over to try and peer over the top of the phone, Akito rolling his eyes behind him, but was clearly just as interested.
“Look!” An handed him the phone—a video of a cat already playing on it. They watched as someone held out their fingers in an L shape, and the cat ran forward, plopping its face in the gap, framed by the fingers cutely.
“That’s sweet,” Touya said as An took the phone back.
“This is even sweeter!” An grinned, holding out her hand toward Kohane, who immediately did the same thing as the cat, resting her face in An’s hand and giggling, eyes closed.
Touya smiled softly at them before a flash of inspiration hit him, and he turned to Akito. He didn’t even get to open his mouth before Akito was burying his head in his hands and vehemently disagreeing.
“No fucking chance.” Akito walked away, flopping onto a beanbag and crossing his arms.
“Akito…” Touya pouted.
Akito turned over so he couldn’t look. “Stop that.”
“You’re so mean to our boyfriend, you know,” An admonished. “Can’t even do a simple trick for him? Bad dog for real.”
Kohane pulled back as An moved her hand to throw a pillow at him. Akito didn’t even twitch as it hit his back. Kohane stood up next to Touya, and he turned his pleading eyes on her. She just laughed and extended her neck.
Gleefully, he put his fingers under her chin. “Cute.” She truly did look like that cat. And she fit perfectly in his hand.
Akito peeked over the covers as Touya spoke, eyes narrowed.
“Adorable,” he continued, just to annoy Akito.
A high-pitched whine emanated from the beanbag, and the three of them stifled their laughter.
“Isn’t she?” An grinned. “How can you be such a hamster and also a cat? It’s unfair!”
“We seem to have discovered a new species…” Touya’s own smile grew at Kohane’s steadily reddening face and Akito’s obvious jealousy at missing out on such a cute scene.
An pet Kohane’s hair back, smoothing out any flyaway hairs as if she truly was a new animal. “I would vote you as the number one cutest animal in the world. The uh. Hamcat. Kohamsterat.” She grimaced. “Touya, help.”
He pursed his lips and studied the creature, who really looked like she wanted to escape his fingers. “Kocamster.”
“Literally no better, dude.”
A loud, angry groan reverberated from the beanbag. “Fuckkk. Show me the freaking Hamscathane thing.”
“Not her name,” An laughed as Touya swung himself and Kohane around for Akito to peer up at the marvel of science. They now probably had to add the word ‘tomato’ to her species name.
“I’m going to die here,” Kohane squeaked. “Please. I’m just Kohane.”
An only laughed harder. “Not according to my phone gallery’s face recognition. It literally started putting you in the hamster folder.”
“No!!!”
Touya had mercy and let her go, pressing a kiss to her temple in apology for the small torture they had inflicted upon her, only too happy to turn it onto Akito next. Hopefully. He turned his gaze on his boyfriend again, looking resigned from his spot on the beanbag.
A quiet, “Akito,” was all it took to have him sigh, heaving himself up and over towards the rest of them. Touya held out his fingers, and Akito plopped his face down into his hand, a frown on his red face that did absolutely nothing to make him look intimidating.
An slowly reached for her phone, and only just got her fingers around it before Akito quite literally growled, “Don’t you dare.”
She clasped her hands innocently in front of her.
“It feels nice though, doesn’t it, Akito?” Kohane giggled, ruffling his hair.
“I’m going to kill myself.”
“Ah-ah,” An tutted. “You’re not allowed to say that.”
His eyes narrowed even further. “I’m going to surpass Rad Weekend. Without you.”
An went for his knees. “Don’t add that last part!”
Akito pulled away from Touya’s hand to escape her wrath, leaving Touya’s hand cold and empty once more. Thankfully, An didn’t chase after Akito, letting him hide behind Kohane without a fight.
“Touya—” An instead offered him her hand, and he was happy to oblige.
An froze as he looked up at her, slowly turning pink. “Ohh fuck,” she whispered. “Kohane, come here.” She held out her other hand, and Touya laughed as he realised what she was doing. Kohane came easily, shooting Touya a smile and giggling into An’s hand.
An looked between them, then at Akito, who had cautiously moved beside her to see. “Dual-wielding.”
Akito snorted so hard he fell over.
Kohane held a hand down for him, fingers already spreading out.
“Ugh.” Akito, still kneeling, offered her his face to cradle.
Touya placed his fingers under An’s chin to complete the formation, though she was laughing a little too hard for his hand to be stable.
“Now what?” Akito huffed. “We’re stuck here.”
“That’s fine with me. I’ll die of cuteness overload before anything else,” An sighed, finally relaxing enough to slump into his hand.”
“And I’ll die of embarrassment!”
A rumble came from between them, and they all slid their eyes to Kohane, who was somehow turning redder. “…And I’ll die of starvation, I guess.”
“No!” An ripped her hands from their faces, almost causing Touya to lose his balance. “We can’t have that.”
Touya had almost forgotten about the plates cooling on the table, and his own stomach rumbled at the reminder. “Ah. I hope it hasn’t gone cold…”
“It’s fineee.” An moved to sit down, patting the space next to her for Kohane. “Dad always serves it way too hot anyway. It’s probably a normal temperature now.”
“Coward, eat it and let it burn your mouth like a real man,” Akito snorted, sitting down and dragging Touya with him.
“Fellas, is it manly to die???”
“No,” Touya said, ending that conversation before it could get any weirder. He removed the cover from his and Akito’s tray, steam rising into the air and proving An right. He placed Akito’s bowl in front of him and then slid his own over. Despite his hunger, he couldn’t dive in just yet. He felt… unfulfilled. He glanced at Akito, who was already face-first in his food, and who looked back with a questioning hum at the eyes on him.
Touya just extended his neck towards him, eyes sparkling.
Akito rolled his eyes but obediently dropped his chopsticks and held out his fingers for Touya. Happily, he slotted into place in Akito’s hand, enjoying the feeling and the blush rising on Akito’s face.
Until, of course, a camera went off across from them and he and Kohane had to protect their dinner from the catfight in three, two, one…
“Delete that!”
