Chapter Text
Luna walked through the void once more, vague memories echoing through her mind. Visions of a distorted skyscraper, several people suffocating, and a boy vanishing just before the world burns away. She sighs, walking further through an astral abyss and forming an exit portal.
The portal opens up beside a giant statue of a dragon, a dark-skinned boy with white hair walking closer towards it. He says nothing, but notices Luna. “Fare well, challenger”, she tells him. “The darkness is not yet over, however you might be the one to end it.”
Luna lies unblinkingly, not believing that statement in the slightest. This wasn’t the first time that Kuro had been the person to survive the train, and her hope of being able to escape the loop was slowly dwindling. She pulls out a Dusk Ball from inside her bag, sending out her Bisharp.
Luna takes a deep breath, grasping the green gemstone within the brooch in her hairband. “Carpenter…”
Bisharp looks at her, crossing its blade-arms. “I… I don’t think it’ll work this time either. And there isn’t enough time to help…”
Carpenter glares at Luna, seeing the tears in her eyes. “Once again, this world’s terminal darkness will be guaranteed by profane li-”
Carpenter runs up to Luna, slashing bloodily through her stomach. Luna stares at Carpenter, coughing up blood.
“Wh-Why-?”
Luna’s knees falter, and she falls into the snow on top of Charous Mountain, the area beneath her slowly reddening. “I didn’t-” Luna manages to get one last word out, before a golden light flows from within her body into the Emerald Brooch, and her heart stops.
