Chapter Text
Kendall's POV
Man these broken bones suck! On top of all that Mr. Bitters gave James and I detention for a month for giving Logan and Carlos our cellphone numbers. It was definitely worth it though to be able to continue to talk to them. I hobble inside the house with James not far behind me. I slowly make my way up to my room. As I get settled on my bed to take the pressure off of my leg my cellphone vibrates in my pocket. I pull it out and answer it.
"Hello? Kendall it's Logan from the school penpal project." Logan says in a timid voice.
"Hey, here I was thinking that my free time was being wasted in detention for no reason." I say laughing.
"wait what?" Logan asks confused.
"It's a long story. James stop hovering by the door and get your butt here." I say exasperatedly.
"I want to say hello." a muffled voice I guess to be Carlos says with an obvious pout.
"Hold on one second, I'm going to put my phone on speaker because James is looking at me like I broke his lucky comb. Also, I am pretty sure I can hear Carlos on the other end." I say putting my phone down on the bed and switching to speakerphone.
"Carlos has a look on his face like someone kicked his puppy." Logan says laughing.
"I do not!" Carlos exclaims indignantly.
"Hello people, I am here to make your lives so much better." James says being his dramatic self.
"Seriously James? Here, you go look at the handsome reflection." I say while handing James a mirror.
I hear Carlos and Logan snickering on the other end of the phone. James and I hear the front door open downstairs and exchange a look.
"We gotta go. Our moms have just got back." I say.
"Okay, talk later." Logan says and I hang up the phone.
James and I let out breaths we didn't realise we were holding.
