Chapter 1: Lords Of All Ages
Chapter Text
He pretended not to see the stares as he walked to the Wizengamot meeting room within the Ministry of Magic. He knew by the end of the day, it would no doubt be all over the prophet. Of course, his fiancé did warn him.
"Bloody arse is going to be smug for the next week!" Thought the young man, slightly bitter. He and his fiancé were very competitive wizards. Something that showed when they played quidditch in Hogwarts before the elder had graduated a few years prior.
The young man was pale-skinned with pitch-black hair that he held no control over. He often said it had a mind of its own. He had bright, emerald green eyes, which were also compared to the killing curse. He no longer wore glasses, thanks to his future father-in-law. The man insisted on paying for the cost to get his eyesight magically fixed.
He wore dark green, mandarin collared, closed robes with bronze fastenings. His trousers were simple black leather, while his shoes were black dragon hide. A gift from Charlie Weasley, who was like a brother to him.
However, the one thing distinct about this young man was the lighting-shaped scar on his forehead.
He smiled softly as he walked to his future father-in-law, Lord Reuben Flint, father to Heir Marcus Flint. The man was tall, roughly 6-foot-2. He was broad-formed like his son. Both have light beige skin, black hair, along with dark brown eyes.
"Hadrian! It's good to see you!" Exclaimed the man pulling him into a hug before leading him to Lord Lucius Malfoy. "Lucius, this is my future son-in-law. I will be accepting those 20 galleons soon!"
Hadrian chuckled softly, shaking his head in amusement. He should have known Reuben had bet with Malfoy concerning him in some way. The wizard only places bets he knows he can win. It helps Hadrian because he can commit the look Malfoy has to memory. He must show that to Marcus when he and Reuben arrive back home.
"Potter?!" Malfoy Snr asks, his eyes wide as he looked at the young Lord.
"Yes," Hadrian says kindly. "I am engaged to Marcus. Quite happily, I might add. I'm surprised Dray or Cissa didn't tell you?"
He wasn't actually surprised. As Lord Black, he told them not to say anything just yet. Although they would have done so either way. Apparently, Narcissa likes to mess with her husband sometimes.
"I wish you and Marcus well, Lord Potter; that is what you are doing here, isn't it? Claiming your Lordship?"
"Lordships, multiple, and yes, Lord Malfoy, I am."
Before the blonde could respond to the information just given to him, Chief Warlock called to start the meeting. Hadrian noticed as everyone took seats around a circular dark brown table in the center of the room.
The room itself was filled with dark brown flooring and black cement walls. There were no windows and only one set of doors. On the wall across from the doors were two large whiteboards. One had the word: NO while the other had YES. He guess that was how the votes were shown.
He put on a blank face as he sat between Reuben and young Lord Blaise Zabini, one of his recent friends. The two young men nodded ever so slightly to each other before looking at their Headmaster, who also happened to be Chief Warlock.
"I, Chief Warlock Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, open the Wizengamot meeting on the date of Friday, August 2nd, 1996. Is there anyone here who needs to claim their seats and Lordship?"
"I, Hadrian Jameson Potter-Black, am claiming the Potter Lordship, the Black Lordship, the Peverall Lordship, the Fleamont Lordship, the Slytherin Lordship, the Gryffindor Lordship, the Le Fay Lordship, and the Emrys Lordship." He says calmly as he stands in his spot.
"Do you have evidence of these claims?" Dumbledore asked, his blue eyes showing no sign of their typical twinkling in them.
"Of course." He answers smoothly, levitating folders to each member of the Wizengamot. "In those folders, you will see certified Gringotts papers showing that I am able to claim each of the Lordships I named. Potter is, of course, due to my father, James Potter. Black is due to my Godfather, Sirius Black. Peverall comes from my father's side as well. The granddaughter of Ignotus Peverall, the only Peverall brother to have legitimate children, married my ancestor Hardwin Potter. Slytherin is due to my mother, Lily Potter née Evans, being from 2 squib lines. One was Slytherin. The other was the line of Emrys, also known as Consort Merlin Pendragon. Due to her inability to have children, Morgana Le Fay named Arthur and Merlin's child her heir, thus me gaining the Le Fay Lordship. Fleamont comes from my Great-Grandmother, who was from the Fleamont family. Finally, Gryffindor is from Slytherin as well. The two were lovers. Thus, their heirs are the same person."
Reuben Marcus Flint often wondered if his son and heir would ever marry. He chose to respect his late wife's wishes and not make a betrothal contract for their only son. So when Marcus brought home Harry Potter it truly threw Reuben through a loop.
Yet within the week of the Potter boy being in Flint Manor, how sharp-minded and Slytherin the teen was. The part that melted Reuben's heart was how alike Hadrian and his wife were. Something he had yet to tell his son.
Now, Reuben watched with pride as his future son-in-law destroyed those in the Wizengamot. He was proud of him. Just like he was proud of his Godson, Blaise Zabini.
Hadrian sighed as he left the Wizengamot room and entered the Atrium. It was risky what he did. Yet, he had to. The moment he claimed his Lordships, he was no longer bound by a magical guardian. Marcus said he would have understood if they had to keep the visit far and few between, but he didn't want that. He finally found happiness and love with Marcus. He wasn't going to give it up.
"That bad, huh?" asks a deep voice causing Hadrian to look to his right.
The voice belonged to a tall man, about 6-foot-2, with a tough appearance. He had tanned, beige skin and dark brown hair. His eyes were a wood-like brown. He was Heir Marcus Flint. Hadrian's Fiancé.
"Marcus!" he exclaimed happily as he hugged the man. "I thought you were working today?"
"Asked the boss for the day off. You know she favors you and knew you had your first Wizengamot today."
"I'll have to bake her some more cookies."
"Ah, Marcus, are you coming home with Hadrian?" Reuben asked as he, and his Godson, approached the pair.
"I am Father." Replied Marcus before sending a small smile to his Godbrother. "Hello, Blaise. How are you? How is your Mum?"
"I'm doing well. Mother is doing alright. She says you need to visit soon and demands you bring Hades along."
Maria Zabini, née Rosá, was the widow of Jonas Zabini and mother to Blaise Zabini. She had been best friends with Marcus's mum, Izora Flint née Elms, originally from America, before moving to be with her Aunt and Uncle due to the war.
"Of course. I'll send Hedwig with a letter of my available times and dates." Marcus informed.
"Harry! Harry, my boy!" Albus called out, catching Hadrian, Reuben, Marcus, Lucius, and Blaise as they began to get ready to leave.
Marcus felt his fiancé's hand tighten its grip upon his own. He looked down and rubbed his thumb across the top of Hadrian's hand softly. They looked back up to see the elder man. Behind them stood Blaise and Lucius while Reuben was on Hadrian's other side.
"My name to you, Headmaster Dumbledore, is Lord Potter-Black or Mr. Potter-Black for school-related subjects. Is there anything you need?"
He watched as Dumbledore struggled for a moment. He gave the old man 2 options. The first would be to say no and move on to confront him later. The second would be to continue by saying he should have waited only to look like a fool in front of almost the entire Ministry since he said nothing to Blaise.
"No, no." Said Dumbledore shaking his head and walking away.
Flint Manor was simply described as bright. It hadn't always been that way. After Lady Flint died, the Manor grew dark. As if it could sense the missing piece. Yet, as Hadrian moved into the Manor, the darkness lifted. As though he was the missing piece after her.
The house elves loved him. Especially when the kitchen elves learned he enjoyed baking WITH them. Of course, Dobby stayed as his personal elf but was training under a Flint elf as well.
The animals loved him as well. Even Marcus's Griffin, Erebos, who typically didn't like anyone but Marcus. Yet he loves Hadrian. Make Marcus a bit jealous, truthfully.
"How did you do in the meeting?" Marcus asked as he and Hadrian sat together in their small personal room.
The room itself was specialized just for them. It had a 3-seater couch which was brown leather, two brown leather recliners, a dark blue rug, and two bookshelves full of different items. The floor was deep brown wood, while the walls were a nice simple grey. For the two, it was cozy and enough.
"It went well. Your father apparently entered a bet with Lucius concerning me somehow. I also got to see Dumbledore barely hold his rage in at losing my Lordship. And since I am Lord Slytherin and Lord Gryffindor, I own half of Hogwarts."
"Will Hermione be taking her Ladyship soon?"
"She will. Neville said he will be taking Longbottom and Hufflepuff soon as well." Hadrian smirked. Dumbledore is so utterly clueless it was funny.
"Hogwarts will be starting up soon," Marcus mentions a while later as he brushes his finger's through his hair.
"Yes. I admit I am not ready to go. It will be time to put the more dangerous plans into action," he sighs softly, closing his eyes to try and prevent the tears threatening to spill before he even speaks. "Plus, I fear my Papa not believing me. I know Dad does, but..he says Papa doesn't remember. What if he never does..."
That night Marcus Flint and Harry Potter-Black held each other tightly. Both wish for a better future.
Far away within the confines of Slytherin Manor, a man with crucio red eyes and dark brown, borderline black, wavy hair sat in his office solemnly. His husband had yet to remember. His last hope was their son. If their son could not get him to remember, then he has lost hope.
He pulled out the birth certificate once more.
Name:
- Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin
Date Of Birth:
- July 31st, 1980
Bearer:
- Severus Tobias Slytherin née Snape
Sire:
- Marvolo Thomas Slytherin
It hurt knowing how far Dumbledore went just to hurt him. His son was raised to kill him. His husband made to forget them all. It hurt more than words could describe.
Chapter 2: Remember Me
Summary:
Hadrian wishes his Papa would remember him.
Chapter Text
Hadrian looked up at his Bearer and Papa, Severus Tobias Slytherin née Snape. If paid attention long enough, he found evidence of glamour lying upon him. He always wondered what his Papa might actually look like.
He knew his true looks were similar to the ones he has now. Yet, no scar laid upon his forehead, his pitch black hair was not messy but wavy to his shoulders, and his eyes were onyx.
Before he could look away on a night of detention on Friday, September 13th, 1996, he was finally caught staring. He watched as his Papa's face screwed in hatred. His lips held a sneer upon them.
"What do you want, Potter?" He asked, his voice showing the hatred he felt for the boy.
"I want you to remember Dad and me!" He finally screamed as tears welt in his eyes. "I'm the last hope Dad has for you to remember, but I don't know how! My own bloody Papa hates me, Dad struggles to be near me because you aren't there! I just want my parents now that they are within reach! So, please! Try, and bloody remember, your husband: Marvolo Thomas Slytherin! And your son: Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin! Your sweet baby boy was born on July 31st, 1980! Please!"
Hadrian had fallen to the ground on his knees, his fists curled and on the ground, as his head tilted down. He let the glamours fall. He showed how he truly looked. His face and body shape are that of Marvolo, and his eyes, hair, and the height of Severus. Tears began to hit the floor. Beating the moments by.
Severus, however, stood shocked as the memories played.
He remembers when he married Marvolo. How his Mother and Grandfather were so pleased with the match. Especially how happy Severus was with his husband.
He remembers finding out he was pregnant after their honeymoon. It showed that Hadrian was conceived on their wedding night.
He remembers decorating the nursery with Marvolo. They chose to do a forest with all sorts of creatures, such as Nifflers, Bowtruckles, Fairies, and more. The most special part was the family of three snakes.
He remembers the birth and pain he went through, yet the immediate joy of hearing his son's first cries into the world. He saw himself holding his sweet baby with tuffs of black hair.
He remembers crying in the broken nursery, realizing his baby was gone. His sweet Hadrian was taken. Then, the memory shows a shadow of a tall figure muttering an obliviate and glamour spell.
He looked down at his crying son and immediately rushed over. Falling to the ground, he hugged his baby boy.
"Oh, Hadrian. Papa is so sorry. My sweet little snake. Papa is here now." He whispers. "Let's go visit Dad."
He felt a nod upon his chest, so he thanked Lady Magic for Marvolo being able to pull them from his mark without alerting Albus. He felt the magic drift them to Slytherin Manor. In Marvolo's office.
Moments passed, and he finally registered that both his Husband and Son were home. He immediately went down and hugged them both before the door opened to show Bellatrix Lestrange. Hadrian's Godmother.
"He remembers?.." she asks softly, hugging her Godson.
"Yeah! Me, Dad, and Papa can be a family again." He looks over at his parents with hopeful eyes. "Right?.."
Immediately both rushed to confirm that yes, they are a family again. Making both their son and Marvolo's good friend laugh. Hadrian was happy to have his family. Which made his thoughts turn to Marcus.
"Dad!" He exclaims. "Can we have Marcus floo over so Papa can meet him properly?"
Marcus Flint was nervous as he realized he was meeting his old Head of House as his soon-to-be Father-in-law. He had been worried when the Dark Lord floo'd in. His first thought was that Hadrian was hurt. Thankfully he wasn't.
He gulped at the look, however, that he received from the man.
"So when you were reportedly disappearing from the dorms, he is who you were going to?"
"Yes, Sir."
"Do you love my baby?"
"With all of my heart and magic, Sir."
"If you hurt him?"
"Never going to do so purposely, yet if I do, I encourage any punishment."
Hadrian watched with a smile until he felt heat upon his right middle finger. Sighing softly, he informed everyone that there is an emergency wizengamot meeting and he needed to go. So kissing his fiancé, and hugging his parents and Godmother, he transfigured his robes before apparating to the ministry.
"Hadrian!" Lord Malfoy and Blaise exclaimed equally as they rushed to him. "Have you heard from Reuben?"
"No. Why?" He asks worriedly.
"I had plans to meet with him today for a business deal. He never showed up." Lord Malfoy states.
Hadrian stood wide-eyed for a moment. He felt his chest fill with pain. The man who was his soon-to-be father-in-law was missing? He felt tears running as he looked at Blaise.
"Who called the emergency meeting?"
"A did."
He turned around to see Oliver Wood. He smiled softly at his friend. He was looking well.
"Oliver! It's good to see you. What's wrong, though?" His voice wavered as he saw the glare from his friend.
"You were supposed to be mine." Sneered Oliver scaring Hadrian. "There was a betrothal set for the Wood Heir and next Potter Heir by our parents. Yet I hear you are engaged! How dare you!"
"I am not an actual Potter," Hadrian states, gaining the attention of everyone. "I was born to Lord Marvolo Slytherin and Consort Lord Severus Slytherin-Prince. On my first birthday, I was kidnapped and given illegally to the Potters. So I apologize, but that betrothal is illegally done. My name is not Hadrian Jameson Potter-Black but Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin. Now, what have you done to my future father-in-law!"
"I have done nothing." Sneered Oliver Wood. "And if I had, why would I tell you? Perhaps if you sign a betrothal..."
"I am engaged, Lord Wood! I already have a betrothal set up! Now, I ask once more, where is my father-in-law?" Hadrian pointed his wand at the man's throat. "Or I will duel you for the information I seek. You know my capabilities Lord Wood, so think carefully with that tiny brain."
"Tatty!"
A house elf arrived, bowing. "Yes, Master Wood?"
"B-Bring Lord Flint here at once!"
As the Lord was brought, Hadrian smirked, muttering good thinking. He then turned worried eyes to his bleeding father-in-law. Rushing to his side, he healed the major wounds. The young Lord yelled for someone to get a healer immediately. He also told Lord Malfoy to go to Slytherin Manor and fetch Marcus.
"I'm so sorry.." Hadrian mutters to himself as he watches Marcus with Reuben.
If only he knew of the Wood and Potter contract. If only he could have prevented Reuben from hurting. It was all his fault. So he takes the ring given to him by Marcus for their engagement and sets it by him quietly.
"Goodbye, Love..."
Reuben Flint woke to the sound of crying. His eyes showed his son holding the engagement ring to his future son-in-law.
"Hadrian?.." he asked slowly.
"Left...said he thinks we...we would be better without him..." Marcus looks at his father showing bloodshot eyes. "Hadrian thinks it was his fault."
"I'll be okay. Go get him!"
Three hours later, Marcus finds Hadrian in his room at Flint manor, packing his things in a painfully slow manner. As if he truly did not wish to leave but thought it best. Marcus could also hear Hermione Ravenclaw.
"It's for the best, Mia," Hadrian states in choked sobs. "I'll only put them in danger. I can never forgive myself for what happened to Reuben."
"Hades, you know Marcus will look for you as soon as he wakes."
"He deserves better, Mia. I love him enough to let him find it."
"I don't want better!" Marcus Flint states, walking into the room. He watched as Hadrian, whose back faced him, stiffened. "Please, after all, we have been through...let Father and I decide if it's too much. Father loves you so much." He turns his Love to face him. "Please, I can't lose you."
"You would both be safer without me..."
"I would also be.. what is the muggle word...oh depressed! Without you. So would father."
"Okay..."
Hadrian apologized to his future father-in-law as he hugged him. His eyes were wet, as was the shoulder of his shirt. Reuben made him promise not to do such a thing again. The man also made sure to emphasize that it was not his fault. It was Lord Woods. The same Lord Wood in a ministry holding cell awaiting trial.
"Hadrian." The elder man says as the younger sat in the chair next to his hospital bed. "Why won't you let yourself be happy?"
The younger sighed, having expected this. Reuben could read him like a bloody book. Some days it didn't bother him. Others, he wondered how good it was.
"Dumbledore is still at large." He starts sadly. "What if he hurts you?" He stares at his hands in his lap. "I would never forgive myself if you or Marcus got caught in the crossfire. You both mean the world to me..."
A hand was laid on his own, causing his eyes to meet Reubens.
"It's not your fault. Never has been, never will be. It is the fault of the adults who have failed you."
Chapter 3: Hogwarts and Arseholes
Chapter Text
"Mione! Harry! What is going on!?"
Ronald Weasley didn't understand what happened. This year one of his best friends was engaged, turned out to be the son of the Slytherin Lord and Snape, and was distancing himself from him. The other was Lady Ravenclaw and neither was talking to him. It hurt.
"My name is Hadrian." Came the harsh reply.
"Please...what did I do?.."
Hadrian Slytherin and Hermione Ravenclaw didn't know truly what broke them. The desperation in his voice. The broken look in his eyes. Or the way he rushed to grab both their hands in such a way that meant he didn't know.
So they, along with the Hufflepuff Lord, took him to the Room of Requirement. It was chosen so they sat on the floor which was covered in soft coverings. All in neutral colors.
"Ron..did you know there was an illegal marriage contract for you and me?" Hermione asks softly.
"What? But we are like brother and sister?" He asks with a scrunched-up face. "Like no offense Mione but no."
"None taken." She states softly. "But it was made by your Mum and Dumbledore."
Before Ron could respond she pulled out the documents. Clear as the day he saw the signatures. He gulped looking at his best friend.
"I was born July 31st, 1980 to Lord Marvolo Slytherin and his Consort, Severus Slytherin née Snape as Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin. On July 31st, 1981 I was taken early in the morning and my Papa had his memories taken from him."
With a sigh, he put in front of Ron three documents.
The first was an illegal marriage contract between Harry Potter and Ginerva Weasley by Albus Dumbledore and Molly Weasley.
The second was a fake birth certificate of Harry James Potter born on July 31st, 1980 to James and Lily Potter née Evans.
The third was the real birth certificate of Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin born on July 31st, 1980 to Lord Marvolo and Consort Severus Slytherin née Snape.
"Because I fell in love with Marcus Flint and chose to enter a betrothal contract with him I was able to find out the truth. Mia and Nev chose to get tested as well. Thus funding out the truth for each as well."
Hermione then showed him two documents.
The first is a fake birth certificate for Hermione Jean Granger born September 19th, 1979 to Hubert and Jean Granger.
The second is her real birth certificate for Hermione Ariel Ravenclaw born September 19th, 1979 to Rabastan Lestrange and Bartemius Crouch Jr.
Next Neville showed his two documents.
The first was a fake birth certificate for Neville Frank Longbottom born July 30th, 1980 to Frank and Alice Longbottom née Fawley.
The second was his real birth certificate for Hydrus Rodolphus Lestrange born July 30th, 1980 to Lord Rodolphus and Lady Bellatrix Lestrange née Black.
Ronald Bilius Weasley sighed softly. "I am so sorry. I swear, I I knew none of this. I doubt anyone but Mum and maybe Gin knows." He looks Hadrian in the eyes. "Merlin knows Dad loves you like a son. My brothers and I, including Bill, Charlie, and Percy, love you like a brother. Please..."
The others watch as Hadrian smiles weakly. Hugging Ron he began crying. All four in the room knew why. The two were like brothers. So, Hadrian thinking he was going to be married without his brother was heartbreaking for him. These tears were tears of happiness and relief.
Dear Love,
I am quite happy to hear that Ronald wasn't involved. I know how badly you have missed your brother.
Father is doing better and should continue to heal well. He hopes you stay safe.
I will be visiting your next Hogsmeade weekend to see you. Father might join if Healer Solace gives us the okay.
How are things with Umbridge? Is she treating your lot alright? I hear she can be a nasty piece of work but fair if need be.
Love,
Your Betrothed,
Marcus Flint
"Hem hem."
The entire great hall looked up one October first to see Professor Umbridge with the sorting hat. Hadrian knew what was happening. As the new Lord Slytherin, he was summoned to the end-of-month Hogwarts Governor meeting. These along with those on the board, and Professor Umbridge on the Ministers behalf, it was decided to be a resort.
"All students will note classes have been canceled today." The woman starts. "The reason for such is there will be a full report of the student body. We will start with young Lord's , Lady's , and Laird's within the Wizengamot. If you are a part of the Wizengamot or starting today please rise and come to the front."
Hadrian, Blaise, Hermione, Neville, and Susan all rose, making their way to the front. Hadrian felt bad for Susan having to take over. Her Aunt was caught in the crossfire of a Death Eater battling an Order member.
"Susan Bones," Umbridge says raising the hat.
"HUFFLEPUFF."
Susan smiles softly before taking her original place at the Hufflepuff table next to Hannah Abbott.
"Neville Longbottom."
"HUFFLEPUFF."
The teen smiles softly and thanks Umbridge before sitting next to Ernest Macmillan and Wayne Hopkins.
"Hermione Ravenclaw."
"RAVENCLAW."
Hermione smiled widely as she sat next to Luna Lovegood and Padma Patil. Both girls are friends with the new Ravenclaw.
"Hadrian Slytherin!"
"Are you ready, young Lord?"
"Yes."
"SLYTHERIN"
After Hadrian sat next to Draco smiling softly he watched as Ron looked alone causing a frown to fit upon his face. Excusing himself, he followed the leaving redhead.
"We are still friends Ron..." Hadrian states softly. "Unless you wish not to be friends."
"At least let me get used to it?" Ron asks with a sigh. "I promise we are still friends and brothers. Just need to adjust to it."
Hadrian nodded before his ring began to heat up meaning it was time for the meeting. Summoning his robes he rushed outside before apparating to the Ministry Atrium.
He smiled seeing his future father-in-law and fiancé in the meeting room. Hugging them both he did ask why they were there.
"Well, I have been clear to come in the wheelchair. I also am required to have Marcus with me. Since he is my heir, it is allowed." Reuben explains before taking his hand. "Are you alright?"
"Yes. Papa has been helping me in not closing myself off. I also talk to Madam Pomfrey at least once a week."
"Good," Reuben says. "You know it's only because we care, correct?"
"I know." He states hugging him.
Then the meeting began. Of course, it properly started once the Lords and Lady's got over that shock of two more young ones taking over their Lord or Ladyships. Of course, they were Lord Hufflepuff-Longbottom and Lady Ravenclaw. So now all four Hogwarts houses had Lords and Ladys holding their seats upon Wizengamot.
"You are a muggle-born!" A pureblood supremacist shouted to Hermione causing Neville, Hadrian, and Marcus to immediately stand.
"My name is Hermione Ariel Ravenclaw. I am the stolen daughter of Heir Bartemius Crouch Jr and Rabastan Lestrange. I am the heiress to the Crouch family. I am a pureblood stolen from her home." She states calmly yet firm standing.
"My name Hydrus Rodolphus Lestrange. I am the stolen son and heir of Lord Rodolphus and Lady Bellatrix Lestrange née Black. I am the heir to the Lestrange family. I am a pureblood stolen from his home." Hydrus states calmly yet firmly standing next to his cousin.
"My name is Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin. I am the stolen son of previous Lord Marvolo and Consort Severus Slytherin née Snape. I am the current Lord and the heir to the Prince line. I am a pureblood stolen from his home." Hadrian states standing next to his friends.
"You all chose to ignore cries for help from those known in the dark sector." Hermione states. "This now is magics punishment to you."
"To learn that they indeed had children stolen from them," Hydrus adds. "Four of whom you put in jail without a trial."
"One of whom you ran off. Another his memories of his family wiped." Hadrian finishes saying. "Suffer in your guilt for if you were involved and did not fight for the right side you must know you are unforgiven."
"Let magic decide your punishment. So I say, so shall it be, so mote it be." They said all in unison.
"It's nice to meet the man who stole my brother's heart," Ron states with a smirk as he shook Marcus's hand. "Hurt him and I will personally make your life a living hell."
Marcus Flint gulped realizing that he still had five more pseudo brothers and a pseudo father to get through before he got through all of the family. Yet, as he looked at his fiance who was talking to his friends vibrantly.
"You truly love him, don't you?" Ron asks kindly.
"I do," Marcus says. His eyes never left Hadrian as he spoke. "He brought out a part of me I never knew could exist. He wanted to tell you but knew you hated Slytherins. He didn't want to loose the closest thing to a brother he has ever had." Marcus turns to face Ron. "So please, accept him for who he is?"
"Of course." Ron says with a nod.
Chapter 4: Dark Lord's Son and Friends
Chapter Text
Hadrian walks into the boy's dorm for 6th years only to find Gregory Goyle and Vincent Crabbe rummaging through his trunk with Pansy Parkinson watching them. He sighs, having been tired from the past 24 hours alone. He had an emergency Wizengamot meeting to attend, plus a visit with Dumbledore.
"PARKINSON!" He shouts, gaining their attention. "I knew you were on the more idiotic scale but to force Vince and Greg to do this? Shame!" He turns to the younger boys with a small smile. "Go find Dray, you lot. It's okay. I am not mad."
The two each hugged him in thanks and went to find their friend. The two were the more submissive-like ones of the group and often protected at all costs. Especially by Draco.
"Now." He begins turning back to Parkinson. "What made you, whose father is a lowly little death eater, think you had any rights going through my things? Mine. The person whose father is the Dark Lord himself! Well, speak!"
"I..I..." she feared what he could do. Ever since it came out that he was the son of the Dark Lord, all the followers' children were ordered to treat him as if he were the Dark Lord himself. So, for Pansy Parkinson to force two of his friends to rummage through his things, well, the Dark Prince was mighty pissed off.
"Go. I will figure out your punishment later on." He started with a frustrated sigh.
As she left, he put his things back before sitting on his bed with a mirror. It was a two-way mirror so he could talk to his Dad easier without someone being able to trace Hedwig or any other owl.
"Ah, Hadrian. Are you ok?" his Dad asks as his pale face shows in the mirror. He looked like he just got done dealing with idiots. So Hadrian guess a Death Eater meeting just took place. It made the young man pout.
"I was hoping to catch you before the meeting." He says sadly. "Parkinson set Greg and Vince on my stuff. I hoping you could punish her dad just a bit."
"Next meeting son." His father says with a smirk before turning serious. "Now, how was the meeting with Umbridge?"
Yes, the meeting with Professor Delores Umbridge, the half-blood playing pureblood. A bloody nuisance if you asked Hadrian. She insisted on meeting the young Heir Slytherin. Honestly the woman couldn't be more obvious if she tried.
"It was alright. It's a bit obvious she wants some kind of status by being associated with us. Pathetic truly."
"I'll talk to your Papa about what we should do. How is school?"
"Good. I'm doing well in all my classes, and Professor Flitwick says I show real promise with charms."
"That's good! I'm very proud of you!"
Hadrian would be lying if he said that he didn't like how both fathers praised him. He loved the feeling of both men being proud of him. It was something he didn't get from the Dursleys or any adult, really.
Marcus smiled softly as he watched his fiancé's face light up at the sight of him. That particular night he was given special permission to visit Hogwarts and see Hadrian. He felt his arms wrap around his torso tightly.
"Marcus! I missed you so much." Hadrian whispers.
"I have missed you too, Love," Marcus replies softly, giving him a sweet kiss on his lips. "Let's sit, eat, and you can tell me how you've been fairing the past few days."
They went and sat with the Slytherins the two were both friends with. Those being Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Daphne Greengrass, Gregory Goyle, and Vincent Crabbe. The group grew, however, when Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley, Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, Neville Longbottom, and Ginny Weasley, who knew nothing after a long conversation to confirm, all made their way over.
After the meal Blaise and Neville would soon become close friends, possibly more. Ginny, Hermione, and Daphne became a very dangerous trio. Dean and Seamus became good friends with Greg and Vince. Surprisingly, however, was that Ron and Draco became friends over two common things. The first being a hatred of Dumbledore. The second was wizards chess.
Marcus looked over to see Hadrian smiling softly at his friends. He could remember the day they began their friendship. He admired him for a few years before it had begun. However it was solidified in Hadrian's third year, his own 6th. They began their relationship during Yule break. Harry had asked to meet in the Room of Requirements, a room Marcus knew of since his first year due to it being passed down through family.
Marcus Flint sighed as he entered the room of requirement. He would have bailed if it was anyone other than Harry. However, he couldn't deny the Gryffindor a bloody thing.
He walked in to see a crying Harry sniffling quietly. Quickly he moved to pull him into a hug. Whispering soothing words softly he got him to calm down slowly.
"Harry, what happened?" Marcus asked quietly.
"I'm scared, Marcus. W-What if he gets to me? I don't want to die. I I I finally have someon- something to live for. I don't want to die..."
Marcus immediately hugged him tightly. "I won't let it happen. Ok? I care about you too much." Marcus planted a sweet kiss to the top of his head. "I love you too much to allow it. I will always protect you, Harry Potter, wether it is from Dementor's, Muggles, or the Dark Lord himself."
"Y-you love me?.."
He froze and pulled away from Harry quickly. "H-Harry look I swear I.."
He paused. He saw the hope that shined in the younger's eyes. The way they gave his feelings away. How it was now obvious that Harry James Potter loved Marcus Reuben Flint.
He put one of his hands on his cheek, the other on his waist to pull him closer. Looking down at vibrant AK green he asks in a mere, husky whisper: "may I kiss you, Harry?"
Harry happily and kindly nodded.
Their first kiss was like they imagined, soft and sweet. It wasn't long but wasn't quite short either. It was enough to pour their emotions of love, care, kindness, and home into the kiss.
As they pulled away their foreheads stayed together. Each taking in the few moments that just past between them. Neither truly believing yet that they weren't going to end up heartbroken.
However, that was the day Albus Dumbledore lost the savior.
Chapter 5: Meetings and Discovery's
Chapter Text
Hadrian sighed softly as he stood up. Today was the day he, along with his parents, Rueben and Marcus, would meet with a few former members of the Order to discuss what would go on for the time being. It made him nervous.
As far as he knew, they were Remus Lupin, Sirius Black, Nymphadora Tonks, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and Hestia Jones. He was nervous at seeing Sirius and Remus. He hadn't seen either since before the fourth year.
As he walked out of his room, he was met with the body of his Fiancé.
"Are you alright, Love?" Marcus asks as he hugs him.
"Just worried at what Sirius and Remus will say. I do love them as if they were my Uncles, but.."
"But your family comes first." Marcus finished kindly. "I understand. We all do. If they don't accept who you are, where you come from, or love you as you are, then they are idiots."
They chose to meet in Gringotts, neutral ground, kind of. The Goblins did favor the Dark but didn't help them. They honored their word of staying neutral.
"Thank you for meeting us," Remus said, taking the lead.
Remus, Sirius, Kingsley, Tonks, and Hestia sat on one side of the long table, with Severus, Tom, Reuben, Marcus, and Hadrian on the other.
"Thank my Son. Otherwise, I wouldn't have." Tom said snidely. "He cares a great deal for you lot. It was his words that convinced me to meet with you all. Give me a reason to believe you lot."
Hadrian looked to see Sirius, and Remus looked at him with a smile. The same smile that he would receive as Harry Potter. Giving a small smile back to satisfy them before watching them turn back to his Father. He felt Marcus give his hand a small squeeze.
The meeting went on for another hour before it was concluded. It was decided that they would join the outer circle except for Sirius and Remus, who would join Hadrian's own circle. He wanted to talk to them longer with Marcus. So his parents hugged him and kissed his head before glaring at Remus and Sirius as they left.
"I wanted to talk to you about how things typically go with my inner circle. I have nine other members in my inner circle. They are my right hands, Draco Malfoy and Ronald Weasley. My left hands, Hermione Ravenclaw and Luna Lovegood. My scribe, Hydrus Lestrange. My ins on the going ons, Daphne Greengrass and Blaise Zabini. Finally, my pranksters, Fred and George Weasley." He watched as the two before him looked surprised. "They aren't the only Weasleys. Bill is my negotiator with the Goblins. Fleur is my negotiator with the Veelas. Charlie is my negotiator with the Dragon Tamers and Romanian Ministry. Percy is my eyes and ears in the ministry. Arthur is my eyes and ears in the order. I also have other outer circle members. For example, Viktor Krum is my eyes and ears and negotiator for both the Bulgarian Ministry and international Quidditch teams."
"You have made connections," Remus stated with a nod.
"I had to. It is how I became the Grey Lord. It has nothing to do with my ideals, by the way." Hadrian states. "It's because my core is grey. Now, I..I am sorry for hiding it from you both..."
He watched as Sirius immediately moved to sit next to him. The Grimm animagus took his free hand in both of his while locking their eyes together.
"Do not apologize, Hadrian. You did what you believed was safest for you! Remus nor I will ever fault you for that. In fact, I am proud that you chose your safety first and foremost. It's one Slytherin quality I can admire most. You may not be my godson, but I still consider you family. I will always be here for you, Hadrian."
Hadrian teared up as he hugged Sirius tightly. Marcus watched on with a smile as Remus made his way around and hugged the other two. Minutes passed before the group pulled apart. Hadrian stood with Marcus and held his hand.
"You two, be careful," Hadrian ordered softly.
"Of course," Remus said softly. "You do so as well, Hadrian."
Returning back to Hogwarts was tiring. He was not ready to deal with Parkinson, who started bullying Luna, Vince, and Greg. Therefore she had to be punished. She needed to realize he was the Dark Prince. Her superior in every single way. To harm his inner circle, his friends, was to harm him. Something he would never stand for.
So as he stood in front of the entirety of Slytherin, a good portion of Ravenclaw, nearly all of Hufflepuff, and a handful of Gryffindor, he made her kneel in front of him. His eyes piercing hers angrily before tossing her to the side.
"I want Cho Chang. NOW!" He yells angrily.
Luna smiled softly at him as the two Ravenclaws under her in the new hierarchy nodded and immediately went to find Chang. He looked at the wizards and witches in front of him and calms slightly.
"Pansy Parkinson is now forbidden from being associated with. Let it be known that she betrayed the Dark, her Lord and her Prince. She, and her family, are forever outcasted. Anyone who's family is in the Dark who continues to associate with the Parkinson family will be seen a traitors as well. For those whose family is not Dark, I believe we must not worry but incase the Parkinson's find refuse with the neutral or light, you will not be charged for your family's sin."
As he finished he watched as Cho Chang was dragged in while seeming to be screaming. However he could not hear her causing him to smirk. He nodded to the two Ravenclaws before they shoved her in front of him on the ground.
Slowly he kneeled in front of her. His eyes flashing angrily and looked illuminating as he looked into her eyes. He grabs her chin harshly.
"You have been told information to be told to Dumbledore. What information does he have?"
"He..he knows your inner c-circle...and the d-dark l-lords..."
Hadrian curses throwing her to the side as well. He looks to his inner circle worriedly.
"I must contact my Father. Be careful. No one leaves the common rooms without a friend or someone of the Dark. Am I understood?" He received nods before rushing to his dorm and pulling out the two-way mirror. "Dad!"
"Hadrian?" Tom asks worriedly from his desk. "What's wrong?"
"You need to tell the inner circle to be prepared for raids! Parkinson and her bloody family betrayed us! Her and Cho Chang told Dumbles our inner circles."
"Any exceptions?" Tom asks worriedly.
"Siri and Remy since they were just added today. Otherwise, no. Go! I'll be alright. I'll go find Papa." Hadrian says quickly before hanging up, which left no room for argument, and heading to his Papa's quarters.
Chapter 6: Surprises of All Kinds
Chapter Text
"The Wizengamot recognizes Lord Hadrian Slytherin!" Dumbledore said, although very reluctantly.
"Lords and Ladies of the Wizengamot, I will be quite frank, this bill that has been proposed? It is entirely idiotic, and to even consider it is inhumane." He paused a moment with a sneer playing on his lips due to the blatant outrage at his mere sentence. "Will I be able to speak? I thought us all mature enough to hear the words of another?"
He watched with internal glee as everyone who had the outburst began to coil into themselves almost. He caught the eye of his future father-in-law who simply had amusement in his eyes. The only tell that was gone in a flash.
"As I was saying, this bill is inhumane. These so called creatures, as you so choose to call them, are from Lady Magic herself. Veela's stem from the magic of the elements in which they control. Werewolves stem from the magic of the moon. Vampire's stem from the magic of the night. Each one of them stem from a specific magics. All created by Lady Magic herself, and you wish to hunt down her beautiful children? Children of magic just like us? We put this through and Lady Magic will no doubt strike us as she pleases, and rightfully so, in which Wizarding Britain will no longer exist."
He watched as the words truly sunk in. Particularly the part of Lady Magic striking the Britain Wizarding nation. He watched as the votes were tallied and the bill was not passed. Soon the meeting was over.
Hadrian smiled softly as he approached Reuben. The man was thankfully doing better. He was now merely using a cane. Although they were unsure if he would ever be able to walk without the cane.
"Are you coming home for the night, Hadrian?" Reuben asked with a smile. "Marcus said that he has a surprise for you if you do."
Hadrian couldn't help the chuckle if he wanted too. "Of course. I cannot let my fiancé down, now can I?"
Hadrian loved that word. Fiancé. He loved the way it always reminded him of when Marcus proposed.
"Marcus, this is all too much." Hadrian tried to say softly.
"Not for you, Love," Marcus replied just as softly. "All of these is yours and more, if you so wish."
Marcus had given Hadrian his own kitchen, gardening room, and library within Flint Manor. Hadrian already had his own rooms next to Marcus's own. Something Reuben insisted on as he said Hadrian was not a guest any longer.
Hadrian turned to say something else, only for the words to fall flat as he saw Marcus Reuben Flint on one knee in front of him with a black velvet ring box opened to show a beautiful silver ring with a small emerald on it.
"Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin, when we first met, you were a scared first-year who was famous for losing his parents. I immediately judged what I did not know, only for you to prove me so very wrong. Over time I fell for you. My eyes only sought you. My heart only beats for you. So I must ask, will you, Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin, bond with me and marry me?"
He had, of course, said yes that day. He watched as Dumbledore made his way over, causing him to plaster on a polite smile. He knew Reuben was next to him, and so was Blaise.
"Chief Warlock," Hadrian says politely. "May I assist you with something?"
"Ah, yes, I must ask if you plan on returning to the school immediately?"
"No sir. I have been informed by my future Father-in-Law that my Fiance has a surprise for me. I will likely be away for the next 24 hours at least."
"I wish to speak to you privately." Dumbledore said in a grandfatherly tone.
"Is it pertaining to my schooling?"
"Well, no."
"Then no."
Before Dumbledore could respond Hadrian floo'd to Flint Manor. He stumbled a bit before being caught by Marcus causing him to blush. He looked at him happily.
"Ready to see your surprise?" Marcus asked softly still holding Hadrian bridal style.
He nodded with a blush. He held on as Marcus walked through the Manor into the gardens. He loved the gardens. It looked beautiful. It was filled with roses, dahlias, red tulips, peonies, dark red carnations, and white carnations. He looked to see Marcus smiling as he set him down.
"How long have you planned this?" Hadrian asked softly.
"A long while. This was the original area in which I was going to propose. I had it all planned out. Then you had looked so happy, simply to have a place of your own." Marcus chuckled ever so slightly. "I couldn't help but propose then and there. To let you know, you always had a place here."
Hadrian shook his head. "At that point it definitely helped but it was not until Reuben called me son, that I truly felt as though I was home."
He and Reuben were in the library alone. It was only the fifth time the two had been alone in the same room since Hadrian had began living at the manor. Reuben, at the time, still had his reservations about the young wizard. Not as many mind you. He had seen the looks Hadrian gave his son. He would have to be, as Severus would say, a dunderhead not to see it.
Yet this was the "chosen one". The boy decided by fate, supposedly, to destroy his Lord. He couldn't help but feel a type of resentment to the young man. He also felt disappointment in his son. The only thing helping Harry Potter was his promise to his wife.
"Lord Flint..." Harry said softly, flinching at the look. "Do you perhaps have a book on blood tests?"
That was the second to last thing Reuben Flint expected Harry Potter to ask. The only thing that was the absolute last thing for him to ask was a book on the dark arts. He stood and while watching carefully him carefully, Reuben grabbed a few books on blood tests done in the wizarding world.
"May I ask why?" Reuben asks curiously.
"I got a test done, for the betrothal contract." He began, while handing a parchment to Reuben. "This is what came from the Gobin's tests."
Name: Hadrian Marvolo Slytherin
Date Of Birth: July 31st, 1980
Bearer: Severus Tobias Slytherin née Snape
Sire: Marvolo Thomas Slytherin
It was a basic test, only revealing up to his parentage but that was what caused Reuben to fall into the nearby chair. His eyes looked to the young wizard in shock. "Son, a Goblin's blood test cannot lie. You are the Dark Prince who has been missing..."
Chapter 7: Anger
Chapter Text
"Are you bloody serious?!" Marcus asked angrily as he stood looking at his fiancé in disbelief.
"I very well am. You know I don't say things I don't mean that often, Marcus." Hadrian said calmly.
He expected this reaction, of course. He knew, with one hundred percent certainty, that Marcus would react this way. He didn't blame him either. This plan could go many different ways, and very few were good outcomes. However, it was his next actions that hurt the most.
"I won't allow you to do so," Marcus said finally.
"Excuse me?!"
It was now Hadrian's turn to stand in disbelief and anger. He could not believe the nerve of his betrothed. Neither had authority over the other. It was something Hadrian had fought on immediately since he was the quote "bride" in the engagement. He refused to be owned in such a manner. He was his future husband's equal, and it would stay that way.
"You heard me. I refuse to allow you into such a dangerous position." Marcus said angrily. "Have you at least spoken to your parents on the matter?!"
"Well, no."
Marcus sighed, trying to release all the anger he felt. It turned out that Delores fucking Umbridge was using blood quills on students at Hogwarts. So far, Hadrian was exempt from it due to his status as a Lord of multiple Houses.
"I love you, but your Gryffindor is showing," Marcus says softly. Talk to the students. Many are younger students who look up to you, yes?"
"Well. Yes."
"Then talk to them. Get their accounts of what is happening. Their memories, talk to their parents. You are a Lord on Wizengamot with multiple seats. Use them."
Hadrian blushed as he chuckled nervously. "Oh yeah."
Marcus rolled his eyes fondly as he pulled Hadrian into a hug. He then thought back on the conversation just had. He could tell, even as they hugged, that he had said something to anger his Love. It took a few moments before it clicked. Marcus had to force himself not to groan and facepalm at his own stupidity.
"Love, when I said that I would not allow it, I did not mean it in the way of me ordering you around," Marcus said calmly. "I understand now how that came across as such; however, that was not my intent. I apologize for the harm my words have caused."
Hadrian looked up at his future Husband with a soft smile. His eyes were kind and gentle.
"I accept your apology." He hardened his eyes as they narrowed. "But as much as I love you, do not let it happen again. I am a Lord multiple times over and the son of the Dark Lord Voldemort. Do not order me as I do not do to you."
"I, Lord of the houses Fleamont, Potter, Black, Slytherin, Gryffindor, Emrys, Lefay, and Peverell, demand justice against one Delores Jane Umbridge."
The uproar was immediate. To many, it was an insult this child was demanding justice, likely for something petty.
They would be in for quite the shock, thought Hadrian as his lips pursed together tightly in an unimpressed line. He would hope adults had more decorum, and yet, besides the former Slytherins, many lacked the decorum that would be expected out of one with a wizengamot seat.
It was truly depressing.
"May I finish?" He demanded, waiting for them to quiet down. "Thank you. Now, as I was attempting to continue, I demanded justice because this woman had been using blood quills on students within the halls of Hogwarts. Including some of your Heirs and threatening them into silence."
"Who?.." asked Lord Garrison Boot, Terry Boot's father.
"From First Years, we have Rose Zeller, Patrick Bagby, Heirress Irene Denholm, Heir Anthony Otterburn, Sally Birchgrove, Heirress Anna Mirfield, Jack Sloper, Adam Pickering, Roderick Seaton, Scott Ancrum, Nola Johnson, Heirress Latisha Randle, and Heir Omar Shaw.
From the Second Year, we have Dennis Creevey, Jimmy Peakes, Natalie MacDonald, Eleanor Branstone, Owen Cauldwell, Laura Madley, Heir Kevin Whitby, Orla Quirke, Stewart Ackerely, and Heiress Emma Dobbs.
From Third Years, we have Romilda Vane, Heiress Lisa Cullen, Heirress Eloise Midgen, Jason Swann, Philip Blagdon, Trisha Buttermere, Poppy Caxton, Craig Dunn, Trevor Birch, Trevor Huntingdon, Yolanda Reedham, and Kim Sheringham.
From the Fourth Year, we have Ginerva Weasley, Collin Creevey, Luna Lovegood, Michael Kettletoft, Heir Martin Copplestone, Heir Gregory Munslow, Edna Patridge, Gareth and Gladys Prescott, and Heirress Zara Valli.
From Fifth Years, we have Lavender Brown, Heirress Parvati Patil, Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, Ronald Weasley, Heirress Hannah Abbott, Heir Justin Finch-Fletchley, Heir Ernest Macmillan, Wayne Hopkins, Heir Terry Boot, Michael Corner, Heir Anthony Goldstein, Heirress Padma Patil, Sue Li, Lisa Turpin, Emma Vane, and Sally Smith.
From the Sixth Year, we have Katie Bell, Heir Carl Hopkins, Cormac McLaggen, Heir Marcus Belby, Heirress Cho Chang, Marrietta Edgecombe, and Eddie Carmichael.
And Finally, from Seventh Years: Angelina Johnson, Lee Jordan, Alicia Spinnet, Fred and George Weasley, Kenneth Towler, Roger Davies, Patricia Stimpson, and Heir Luca Caruso."
The uproar was immediate, especially for those like Lord Boot, whose Heir was on the list of names. However, one such person was not in an uproar. That person was Albus Dumbledore.
"My Boy, that is simply untrue."
That made the entire room fall silent. The entire wizengamot is ready to watch this back and forth between Albus Dumbledore, a Headmaster of the school and a voted-in member of the wizengamot, and Hadrian Slytherin, a student of the school and an inherited member of the wizengamot. Some members truly wished Rita Skeeter was around to write about the encounter they were about to witness.
None were wiser to the beetle which lay just above the doors.
"I will say the evidence proves otherwise, Chief Warlock."
"And what evidence is that?"
Hadrian then pulled out a photo of each child and the evidence of blood quill exposure on their hands. He then passed them magically to each person of the wizengamot.
"I also had my family Goblin, Barrak, come by as a special request, and with his help, both Professor Severus Snape and Madam Poppy Pomfrey scanned each child. Behind each photo is the scan, the Gringotts seal, and the scan shows exposure to blood quills."
"He's right.." whispered Lord Clyde Hopkins mournfully as he held the photos and scans of both his sons. "She has been mutilating our children. My sweet son, Wayne, has the words: I will not hug. Oh, my son and Heir have the words: I will not comfort. My sons! My Heir! She must pay!"
Chapter 8: Riots
Chapter Text
Hadrian was pleased with the lack of decorum for once. Every adult, even the former Slytherins, lacked decorum as they demanded answers from Minister Fudge and Headmaster Dumbledore. More so, Fudge due to his known ties to Umbridge and his placing her there himself. Despite the fight from the school board, who knew she was not a good fit or qualified as she did not hold a Mastery in Defense Against the Dark Arts. The two men looked ready to blow as their faces grew more and more red as questions piled against them, especially from the families affected.
"ENOUGH!"
Albus Dumbledore raised his voice, prompting everyone to pause and exchange glances, some with a hint of skepticism. Inside, he felt a wave of frustration towards the child. His feelings bubbled as doubts swirled among the crowd. After all, he was considered the greatest wizard since Merlin himself! Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, he directed his gaze toward everyone around him.
"I apologize. I was unaware this was happening. I trusted the minister when he said he wanted to place Umbridge in the school. I was assured he had the children's best interests at heart. Can you forgive an old man for his trust in his minister?"
"My son's, my HEIR, has been marked by this foul witch with his own blood." Lord Clyde Hopkins sneers. "A woman who has no mastery in Defense!"
"I wish to point out the school board did fight this." Lord Lucius Malfoy said with a grave look. His eyes glared at the headmaster. "I am sure that everyone on the board will vouch that Dumbledore did not allow us to select a better candidate and insisted she did have a mastery without providing proof."
Everyone on the board did indeed vouch for Lucius and his words, each confirming that the information was accurate. The school board comprised twelve individuals—three former students of each house. For Slytherins, it was Lord Malfoy, Lady Denholm, and Lady Valli. For Hufflepuff, it was Lord Shaw, Lord Otterburn, and Lady Randle. For Ravenclaw, it was Lady Dobbs, Lord Boot, and Lady Chang. Finally, for Gryffindor, it was Lord Caruso, Lord Copplestone, and Lady Cullen. Each one filled with rage as everyone except Lord Malfoy's son was a part of the list given by the young Lord.
"I motion for interim change of positions of Chief Warlock and Minister of Magic until a proper investigation can be made."
"I second Lord Slytherin's motion!" Announced Lord Hopkins, which was no surprise to anyone. The man was well known for the clear affection and love he had for his husband and their children. They had three. Their first, Carl Hopkins, was born a year into their marriage. Their second, Wayne, was born a year and a month after his brother. Their youngest, Holly, was 10. She was a surprise baby, from what Hadrian understood.
"I third Lord Slytherin's motion!" exclaimed Lady Chang, her voice calm, but her eyes suggested anything but calm.
"Then we shall vote on it." declared Dumbledore, although not pleased. "All in favor? All opposed? All votes in favor."
After the votes, it was quickly decided that Lord Kingsley Shacklebolt, a Neutral wizard and Auror, would be interim Chief Warlock and that Madame Amelia Bones, a Neutral witch and also Head Auror, would be interim Minister of Magic. It truly was a day to go down in history books as no one could remember a time when the Neutral party had such power. Everyone saw the need for unbiased opinions at this time, however, as no one wanted someone in the Dark Party who was biased in hate for Albus Dumbledore, but no one wanted someone in the Light Party who was biased in appreciation for Albus Dumbledore.
"Now I must request both of you, to leave these chambers at this time," said Madame Bones.
After the meeting ended, Hadrian joined his parents for the Death Eater meeting. His father would officially introduce him as the Prince of the Dark. He had been known by the inner circle by this point, of course, but had not been introduced to the outer circle and unmarked allies. Allies such as Fenrir Greyback, the Great Alpha of Britain, Dracula Kozani, the Vampire King of Britain, Umbor, the Chief of the Gargoyles of Britain, and Kiyomi, Queen of All Kitsune, to name a few. He was excited to fully embrace his heritage as the Prince of the Dark.
"Hadrian, how was the Ministry?"
He arrived to see his Father and Papa sitting on two thrones at the back of the large room directly next to the entrance of the Manor. Despite the space and people between them, his father's voice carried swiftly to reach his ears. He quickly made his way through the many Death Eaters and allies, and their people, to the back of the room, which held a stage-like area. On the stage were three thrones. One, which was his father's, was tall and foreboding with a snake head decorating the top of it. Its cushioning was pure black with Slytherin green accents. Next to it was another, his own, which was only slightly smaller. Its cushioning was the same as his father's, yet the figurehead atop his throne was that of his animagus form, a black panther. Next to his was his Papa's, which was between his and his father's sizes and had the same cushioning as theirs. The only difference was that the figurehead atop it was that of a bat, which was funnily enough his Papa's animagus form.
"It went well, Father." He began taking his seat. "We successfully got Dumbledore and Fudge out of the ministry for now. In the interim position, Chief Warlock is Lord Kingsley Shacklebolt, and the interim Minister of Magic is Madame Amelia Bones."
"Hmm, I would have preferred two of our own, perhaps Lucius and Reuben for example, but I understand the reasoning for neutral parties."
"My Lord," began a lowly Death Eater. "May I enquire to whom is next to you and our Lords Consort?"
"Everyone, this is your Prince, my son, Hadrian Slytherin."
There were mixed reactions. Many were happy to know their Lord had an Heir. Some were shocked, having thought that he would never have one. Yet a select few, like Lord Parkinson, were furious. The man had hoped to push his young daughter to his Lord. He was one of the few who still thought of women and girls as nothing but lower class whose only worth was their bride price. Thankfully, his son did not have the same ideals. And if due to unforeseen circumstances, Heir Perseus Parkinson became Lord Perseus Parkinson after his father's untimely death, well, that was between Lord Voldemort and Death alone.
