Chapter Text

You are the purest one.

The one that will save us all.

Don’t struggle love, it’ll all be over soon.

Her cheek rested upon the brown leather couch with closed eyes. The tv was on in the background but she had tuned the sound out long ago. The old grandfather clock ticked slowly beside her.

Tick tock- tick tock- tick-riiiing

The phone was ringing.

She tried to ignore it, why couldnt mother or father take the call?

Right they were either passed out in the kitchen or running around town with another whore.

The nine year old tip toed towards the phone on the wall and reached for it.

She grabbed it and waited for someone to say something on the other side.

A low rumbling escaped the phones speaker.

She was getting annoyed by now. Why hasn't anyone said anything?

''Hello?''

It continued to rumble.

No one answered.

She was ready to end the call and put the phone back on the wall when she heard it.

''Hello little one.''

It was cold.
So cold.
And wet.
Why did it hurt so bad?
Make it stop..
Please make it stop-

The bar was cold and it smelled like alcohol. A substance she was familiar with.

The man had guided her here. This was her new home.

She wasnt at home anymore. She wasnt anywhere close home. She was elsewhere now.

''Smile girl, smile.'' He said as he walked by her small figure.

His hands touching her head as he passed by.

''That frown makes your face so unpleasant to look at. Smile for me will you? Smile.''

SMILE

The ground was cold and wet underneat her naked skin. She felt numb. Maybe she was. Yet everything ached. Especially... no.. no.. can't. Dont think about that.

Why is it so cold?

Why is it so dark?

Why is everything quiet?

Wait..

It's too loud now.

Turn it off.

She coudnt see through her long lashes as tears streamed down her face.

Why did it hurt so bad- NO STOPTHINKING

She glanced downwards.

Blood.

Her jagged breaths kept getting faster and faster.

Where was everybody?

Why was her memory foggy?

Can anybody hear me?

Is anybody listening?

She opened her mouth but nothing came out.

''He-''

It hurt.

It hurt so bad.

''Hel-''

''Help'' She whimpered.

Help

Notes:

As you can see this book is going to be written from three different time perspectives. Or as I'd like to call them, Eras.

Era one, reborn
Era two, confinement
Era three, freedom?

Chapter Text

This new place was weird. They spoke another language. They looked different and they all scared her. She was scared and she was lost.

The man had led her into a building where she found herself seated at a barstool by the bar counter. He left soon afterwards.

Another man entered. He was tall. Wore a suit and his head was made out of smoke which confused her. She had never seen anything like it before. The man, or creature, before her filled a glass with juice and placed it before her.

''Drink up little one.''

The little girl slowly reached for the glass and took it with her hands.

She girl wondered if her parents had noticed her missing yet. She didnt think so but her mind couldnt help to wander. To wish they'd come home. Find her missing and call the police. Maybe they'd even search for her. Spend the night searching for their darling daughter. Crying as they realized she was gone and would never be found again. She wondered what that would feel like.

A small smile reached her face. Oh how she wished they would cry. How she wished they would feel bad for leaving her all alone. Always all alone. Always on her own.

Suddenly she was all alone again. In the cold and dark wardrobe, sitting on her knees, crying into her palms and begging for them to open the door. To let her out. Cause she was scared.. Now, she wasnt scared anymore, not the same way at least. This was new. This was exciting.

The tv turned on in the corner of the room and static played until a familiar face was shown. The man who brought her here.

She let go off the glass and placed it on the bar again.

''y/n. Welcome to your new home.''

''Welcome to your new home.''

This was wrong. She didnt want to be here. This was new again. The walls were white and seemed to stretch on forever. The man before her wore a mask, hiding his identity from her eyes.

''I want to go back.'' Back cause back wasnt home. But back was back to somewhere else. Somewhere familiar.

''I'm afraid I can't let you leave y/n. You see, you're special.'' He took a breath. ''Yes, very very special indeed. You're not like all the others. The infected. No- no! You're beatiful. You're pure. You are Mary.''

The girl shuddered.

''Yes... Virgin Mary, free from the curse. Welcome to your new home.''

y/n wasnt stupid. She knew she wasn't home anymore and altough it scared her it also excited her.

''Where am I?'' She asked the man made of smoke.

''You're in Japan, at a undisclosed location.''

''Right. What am I doing here?'' She asked, gripping the glass before her. Her gaze glued to the sticky bar before her.

''I'm not sure.. but whatever Master has in store for you will be revealed soon enough.''

''Right..''

The silence that followed was disturbingly quiet. All alone and lost she sat. Upon the barstool with the empty glass.

Chapter 3: New beginnings

Chapter Text

"You disguist me."

The staff hit the other, splinters of wood digging into her palms as she pushed for dominance. A dance of control that echoed their distaste for another.

"You infuriate me."

Her staff slid against his, hitting the mat below them. He took the oppertunity and used his own staff to hit her curled palms. The staff slipped through her hands bouncing softly to the floor. He pushed further, backing her into the corner of the room and restricting her airway with the bamboo staff clutched in his hands.

"You're not worthy of his time. He should love me!"

He basked in her struggle, watching as she gasped for air before letting her go.

"I dont even want to be here. It's not my fault your ''master'' decided it was a good idea to pick up young girls and bring them to completly new worlds."

He tsk'd, annoyed at her distaste towards his master.

"You should learn respect or else I'll have you removed. You hear that girl? I'm his succsessor, and once I decide I dont have a use for you anymore, you're out..."

The girl wiped her bloodied lip and stood up, curling her hands into fists.

"He still needs me. You dont get a say in anything until he's gone."

The boy looked down upon her with a distasteful sneer.

"Once he is - so are you..."

"We'll start simple. A few tests and trials to get you warmed up to the place."

She looked at the polished white floor beneath her bare feet.

It stretched on for miles and seemed to have no end to it.

They'd been walking it before, before she was ushered inside, helped change

into the pristine medical gown and placed upon the hard table she now sat at.

"I understand that this is new to you but everything will make sense in time.

You dont have to worry about a thing Mary.

You've got your life laid out for you.

And I'm gonna make sure you stay pure.

All you have to do is stay here, with me,

and together we'll figure out a way to cleanse the world of it's impurities.

I believe you've got just what we need.

The missing piece to the puzzle I've been searching for.

A sacreficial lamb on the altar, ready for slaughter.

Everything is making sense.

You know, when I first saw you, I knew it was you.

It had to be you.

My Mary.

I knew you'd be the one to save the world.

Save me from my curse

And I believe you know just how important you are. You are the key to EVERYTHING.

Monday

I hated school. Moreso I hated having to get up in the morning. Having to get ready and having to get on the bus. Having to get a school id, make friends and attend classes that seemed to never end.

I'd been lucky enough to have been homeschooled the last three years but now it seems my lucks run out.

I cupped my eyes as I stared upon the giant gates marking the entrance to UA High, the school I'd now be attending. I didnt remember the entrance exam. All I remember is waking one day and being informed of my now required attendance to aid in the mission. Master had been very strict about the rules he had laid down.

My name was Fushimi Monako.

I was fifteen years old and lived with my parents, Fushimi Mizuki and Fushimi Syouma. They were born in japan but studied abroad and met, fell in love and had me. Only recently did we move back to Japan to live in a small suburban home.

The name was stupid, and so was the disguise of a family. There was no Fushimi family. No love between two parents who carried that love onto their child. I'd known love once, years ago before I arrived here and only once I'd lost it did I realize I had it in the first place. Master was strict, he strung words of praise in clever lies to craft his successor into the perfect doll and me, he played like a marionette- and I obeyed every command. Like a dog hungry for a bone, I'd sit by his side if it meant praise every time.

The bell rung once, then twice.

I slid my bag onto the floor as I sat down, letting my gaze carry around the room as I disected the people around me.

"If you're just here to make friends then you can pack up your stuff now.

Welcome to UA's hero course."
