Jaskier's Songbook

Summary:

So I love the Accidental Warlord Universe and especially enjoy the songs that Jaskier comes up with. The wonderful author of the universe inexplicifics has come up with a start to many a beautiful song. And I wanted to expand on that. So here's a complete compilation, of most if not all songs in the Accidental Warlord Universe

Chapter 1: The Song of the Lobster

Summary:

"The Song of the Lobster" is a song about a little lobster who lived in the ocean but noticed that the water was getting hotter day by day. He wondered what was wrong and discovered that humans were the cause of this environmental problem. He called upon his friends to take a stand and fight against the humans to save their ocean. Finally, the humans listened to the lobsters and agreed to make a change, and the water started cooling again. The song highlights the importance of preserving our environment and the power of working together to make a difference.

Notes:

This Song is from Chapter 3 of With a Conquering Air, when Jaskier first gets into to Kaer Morhen's Hot Springs

Chapter Text

Down in the ocean deep,
Where the water’s cool and sweet,
There lived a little lobster, With claws so strong and neat.

He scurried ‘round the rocks,
And played with his lobster friends,
But one day he felt something strange,
As the water began to get hot again.

Oh me, oh my, the lobster cried,
The water’s getting hotter,
And I fear I won’t survive.

He looked up to the sky,
And wondered what was wrong,
Was it something he had done,
That made the water feel so warm?

But then he saw the smoke,
And the boats up on the surface,
And knew that they were the cause,
Of this environmental circus.

Oh me, oh my, the lobster cried,
The water’s getting hotter,
And I fear I won’t survive.

He called out to his friends,
And said we must take a stand,
We need to tell the humans,
That they’re ruining our land.

They swam up to the boats,
And waved their claws up high,
And the humans looked down in wonder,
At these lobsters passing by.

Oh me, oh my, the lobster cried,
The water’s getting hotter,
But we’ll fight until we survive.

The humans finally listened,
And agreed to make a change,
They cleaned up their act,
And promised to not be so strange.

The water started cooling,
And the lobsters felt relief,
And they knew that they had won,
A battle for their beliefs.

Oh me, oh my, the lobster cried,
The water’s finally cooling,
And we know we’ll survive.

Chapter 2: Love in Snow and Song

Summary:

"Love in Snow and Song" is a beautiful love song about a lark and a white wolf who found love in each other's company. The lark sang of love and life, and the wolf listened in awe as his heart began to swirl with emotion.

Notes:

This song can be found in Chapter 5 of With a Conquering Air, Geralt has just called Jaskier his "little lark".

Chapter Text

Here was a lark upon a branch,
That sang and sang and sang,
And there below the tree there sat,
A wolf as white as snow.

The lark sang of love and life,
Of beauty in the world,
The wolf listened and watched in awe,
As his heart began to swirl.

Oh lark, my love, my heart beats for thee,
As pure and true as the snow on me,
And wolf, my dear, my soulmate, my all,
Together forever, we'll answer love's call.

As the days went by, the lark and wolf,
Became friends and so much more,
They shared their hopes and dreams in life,
Their love began to soar.

Oh lark, my love, my heart beats for thee,
As pure and true as the snow on me,
And wolf, my dear, my soulmate, my all,
Together forever, we'll answer love's call.

The lark and wolf roamed the land,
Exploring all its beauty and wonder,
They knew their love was meant to be,
Their hearts beating as one, like thunder.

Oh lark, my love, my heart beats for thee,
As pure and true as the snow on me,
And wolf, my dear, my soulmate, my all,
Together forever, we'll answer love's call.

The lark and wolf, hand in paw,
Together in love forevermore,
Their song of love echoing,
Throughout the land, forevermore.

Chapter 3: Moonlit Hair

Summary:

"Moonlit Hair" is a beautiful love song that describes a lover as fierce and gentle, with golden eyes that blaze like fire and hair as white as the moon. The song talks about the different seasons of love and how the couple will weather any storm together. The chorus repeats the phrase "my lover is beyond compare" and describes him as both fierce like winter and gentle like summer. The song concludes by reiterating the unique and incomparable qualities of the lover, with golden eyes and moonlit hair.

Notes:

This Song is from Chapter 6 of With a Conquering Air, when Jaskier has finally released his love for Geralt and is trying to get the tune out of his head (spoiler alert: he ends up humming the song all the way until dinner) So this is only a short one and isn't as long :)

Chapter Text

My love is like the winter snow,

Fierce and wild with a fiery glow,

His golden eyes a blazing fire,

Moonlit hair, my heart's desire.

In his embrace, I am complete,

His touch sets my soul alight with heat,

His love, like a warm summer's day,

Calms the storm in every way.

My lover is beyond compare,

With golden eyes and moonlit hair,

As fierce as winter in his wrath,

A gentle summer in the bath.

Through every season of our love,

We'll soar on wings like a dove,

Together, we'll weather every storm,

Our love an unbreakable form.

With golden eyes and moonlit hair,

My love, you are beyond compare,

A fierce and gentle soul, my heart,

Together we'll never be apart.

Chapter 4

Notes:

This Song is another one from Chapter 6 of With a Conquering Air when Jaskier has finally released his love for Geralt. This is once again only a short one:)

Chapter Text

My love is like the winter snow,
Fierce and wild with a fiery glow,
His golden eyes a blazing fire,
Moonlit hair, my heart's desire.

In his embrace, I am complete,
His touch sets my soul alight with heat,
His love, like a warm summer's day,
Calms the storm in every way.

My lover is beyond compare,
With golden eyes and moonlit hair,
As fierce as winter in his wrath,
A gentle summer in the bath.

Through every season of our love,
We'll soar on wings like a dove,
Together, we'll weather every storm,
Our love an unbreakable form.

With golden eyes and moonlit hair,
My love, you are beyond compare,
A fierce and gentle soul, my heart,
Together we'll never be apart.

Chapter 5: White Wolf’s Mighty Pack

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 2 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well when Yen has just put the fear of
Melitele, into Count Lettenhove, after he turned up in Kaer Morhen. He's finally feeling like part of the family.

Chapter Text

Oh, listen now and hear my tale
Of a pack of wolves that shall prevail
Led by the White Wolf, fierce and bold
With mighty jaws and hearts of gold

Behind him run his loyal kin
Bold and fierce, a fearsome din
With teeth that gleam in the moon's pale light
They howl and hunt throughout the night

At his right hand runs a wolf so fair
As black as night, with eyes that glare
And at his left a witch doth run
Her eyes like lilac’s, a fearsome one

Upon his shoulder runs a wolf so wise
A druid's equal in wolfish guise
And soaring high above them all
A lark doth sing the White Wolf's call

So heed my words and mark them well
This pack of wolves shall never fell
For with the White Wolf at their head
They'll run and hunt until they're dead

Chapter 6: The Bold Witcher

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 2 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well when Lambert says he didn't stab any noblemen, Jaskier makes it up on the fly but obviously he would've made it into a short song for Lambert.

Chapter Text

There was a Witcher well-behaved
Whose tongue was sharp as any blade
His beard was shorn, his eyes were orange
His reputation daily made

Oh, the Witcher, oh so bold
His tales and deeds, forever told
With sword in hand and wit so keen
He's a force to be reckoned, so it seems

He walked the lands, both far and wide
Defying danger, with strength and pride
His foes would tremble at his sight
As he fought with all his might

Chapter 7: Ciri’s Geese

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 2 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well, after Jaskier makes up a song for Lambert, Ciri demands a song about her and her geese and Jaskier obviously complies with the little princess

Chapter Text

Oh, have you heard the tale of Ciri
A young witcher, as quick as can be
With geese as her allies, she'd make them honk
And cause a ruckus, with every bonk

Ciri, Ciri, a witcher so sly
With her geese tricks, she'd make foes cry
Her wit and cunning, a force to be reckoned
Ciri the Witcher, forever destined

Through fields and forests, she'd make her way
Her geese by her side, ready to play
She'd whistle and call, they'd come in a flock
Her enemies stunned, their plans all blocked

Ciri, Ciri, a witcher so sly
With her geese tricks, she'd make foes cry
Her wit and cunning, a force to be reckoned
Ciri the Witcher, forever destined

And so the legend of Ciri lives on
With her geese by her side, she's never gone
A fearless witcher, with tricks up her sleeve
Ciri the Brave, always ready to achieve.

Chapter 8: Wolf’s Heart

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 2 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well, after both Jask and Geralt have finally admitted their love for each other.

Chapter Text

There was a wolf whose heart was held
Beneath a songbird's wings
He sang a melody so sweet
That made his heart take flight and sing

Oh, their love was a tale so rare
A wolf and a bird, so different and fair
Yet their hearts beat as one, forever entwined
Their love like a flame, eternally divine

Though they were from different worlds
Their love was pure and true
The wolf and the songbird, forever bound
Together, as their love grew

Oh, their love was a tale so rare
A wolf and a bird, so different and fair
Yet their hearts beat as one, forever entwined
Their love like a flame, eternally divine

And so their love story lives on
A wolf and a bird, forever gone
But their love still echoes in the night
A love so pure, it's always in sight.

Chapter 9: Right Hand Wolf

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 3 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well, Jaskier is contemplating who he'd be with other than Geralt.

Chapter Text

The White Wolf's shadow is as dark as night
His eyes like embers glowing bright
A fearsome sight, so bold and strong
A hero to all, his legend long

And at the White Wolf's right, he stands
All truths and secrets knowing
With power that few can understand
Their bond forever growing

The White Wolf's path is never clear
But his shadow follows near
Through every danger, every foe
His shadow's knowledge helps him grow

And at the White Wolf's right, he stands
All truths and secrets knowing
With power that few can understand
Their bond forever growing

The White Wolf's shadow sees it all
The secrets kept and the lies that fall
He guides his master through the night
A force to be reckoned with, so bright

And at the White Wolf's right, he stands
All truths and secrets knowing
With power that few can understand
Their bond forever growing

Their bond unbreakable, forever strong
The White Wolf and his shadow, never wrong
Together they'll face all that lies ahead
Their strength and courage, forever fed

And at the White Wolf's right, he stands
All truths and secrets knowing
With power that few can understand
Their bond forever growing

So heed their tale, oh ye who hear
Of the White Wolf and his shadow, ever near
For through their bond, they'll never fall
And they'll stand together, through it all.

Chapter 10: The Maiden’s Question

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 4 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well, not to mince my words Geralt is on his knees for Jaskier, and he gets a bit carried away in his composing.

Chapter Text

Oh wolf, said the maiden, your eyes they do gleam
Your teeth are so sharp and your claws are so keen
Have you come to devour me, am I your prey
Or will you claim me and bear me away?

The Maiden's Question, so pure and fair
A question of love, beyond compare
Will the wolf choose to claim or to hunt
Oh Maiden's Question, let fate confront

The wolf looked at her, his eyes so bright
His heart stirred with an unknown delight
He knew in that moment, he'd make a choice
To claim her heart, and never let go his voice

The Maiden's Question, so pure and fair
A question of love, beyond compare
Will the wolf choose to claim or to hunt
Oh Maiden's Question, let fate confront

Love knows no boundaries, no rules to obey
It comes as it will, with no time to delay
The wolf and the maiden, destined to be
Together forever, wild and free

The Maiden's Question, so pure and fair
A question of love, beyond compare
Will the wolf choose to claim or to hunt
Oh Maiden's Question, let fate confront

And so the wolf claimed the maiden fair
Together they roamed, without a care
Their love like a flame, forever to burn
The Maiden's Question, their love's sweet return.

Chapter 11: Violet Eyed

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 5 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well when Yen and Jas are deciding how to terrorise the noblewomen here to try and win Geralt's hand and Ciri comes to bother them as well.

Chapter Text

Violet eyes, a heart of stone
Never felt love, all alone
Until a cub came by her side
A love so pure, she can't hide

The sorceress with violet eyes
A love so strong, it can't be denied
Her heart now open, no longer alone
With her cub, love has shown

Oh sorceress with violet eyes
Love for her cub, no disguise
Her heart of stone now melts away
A mother's love, forever to stay.

Chapter 12: The Wolf and the Swan

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 7 of Only Love Proudly and Gladly and Well when Lambert is asking Milena to accompany him to the Library and Geralt is whispering the convo into Jaskiers ear.

Chapter Text

Down to the shores of a mountain lake
Came a wolf to quench his thirst
And on the crystal water saw a swan
As white as snow, beauty immersed

Her grace was like a ballet dancer
His strength was like a raging fire
They stood in silence, a fated encounter
Their eyes locked in an unspoken desire

Oh wolf and swan, so different, yet the same
Two hearts beating, love aflame
In a world of darkness, they found their light
Together forever, side by side

The wolf approached the swan with care
Afraid to scare her away
But the swan saw something special there
And to the wolf, she chose to stay

As time went on, their bond grew strong
Through trials and tribulations, they endured
Their love was like a beautiful song
A symphony, forever assured

Oh wolf and swan, so different, yet the same
Two hearts beating, love aflame
In a world of darkness, they found their light
Together forever, side by side

Their love was tested but never failed
A bond that could never be broken
Their passion, a story that prevailed
A love that was truly spoken

As the years went by, they aged with grace
Their love never faded, it only grew
And in each other's embrace
They found a world that was always new

Oh wolf and swan, so different, yet the same
Two hearts beating, love aflame
In a world of darkness, they found their light
Together forever, side by side

Their love story, a legend to be told
A bond that could never be sold
For the wolf and swan, their love was true
A love that lasted forever, just like they knew.

Chapter 13: The Wolf with Amber Eyes

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 2 of Twirl Three Notes and Make a Star

Chapter Text

Amber eyes that pierce the night
A howl that echoes with might
Eskel the wolf witcher, a guardian of the land
A protector of the innocent, with sword in hand

Oh Eskel, with the wolf's eyes so bright
A warrior fierce, in the dark of the night
Your triumphs many, your battles won
A hero true, under the setting sun

From the mountains to the sea
Eskel roams, wild and free
A wolf in heart, a witcher by trade
Fighting for the light, in a world that's often shade

Oh Eskel, with the wolf's eyes so bright
A warrior fierce, in the dark of the night
Your triumphs many, your battles won
A hero true, under the setting sun

A wolf in his own right, with honour to keep

A warrior fierce, in the dark of the night
Your triumphs many, your battles won
A hero true, under the setting sun

With his silver sword and his amber eyes
Eskel fights on, never compromising
In the face of danger, he stands tall
A true wolf witcher, with a heart of gold

Oh Eskel, with the wolf's eyes so bright
A warrior fierce, in the dark of the night
Your triumphs many, your battles won
A hero true, under the setting sun

Amber eyes that shine so bright
Eskel the wolf witcher, a beacon of light
In a world of darkness, he fights on
A hero true, until the breaking dawn.

Chapter 14: Cirilla’s Star

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 2 of Twirl Three Notes and Make a Star, on the way to the Elven festival, it's what Jask wants to debut for the elves.

Chapter Text

There’s a star that gleams in time with your heart
Darling daughter, look up to see it shine
It lit on the day you came into the world
It will not fade until the end of time

Cirilla's star shines so bright
A guiding light, in the darkest night
Cirilla's star leads the way
To a future bright, with a new day

As you grow, so will the light
A beacon of hope, forever bright
Guiding you through the trials and the pain
Through the darkness, it will remain

Cirilla's star shines so bright
A guiding light, in the darkest night
Cirilla's star leads the way
To a future bright, with a new day

Through the battles, the wars, the strife
Cirilla's star was with us in life
From the forests of Brokilon to Kaer Morhen's throne
The star shone bright, never alone

Cirilla's star shines so bright
A guiding light, in the darkest night
Cirilla's star leads the way
To a future bright, with a new day

Soon will be time to embrace your fate
To sit on the throne and seal your place
The star will burn brighter than before
Guiding us to the end of the war

Cirilla's star, shines so bright
A guiding light, in the darkest night
Cirilla's star, leads the way
To a future bright, with a new day

And when it's all said and done
When the battle is over, and the war is won
The star will still be shining, forevermore
A symbol of hope, for all to adore

Cirilla's star, shines so bright
A guiding light, in the darkest night
Cirilla's star, leads the way
To a future bright, with a new day

Cirilla, my dear, my precious star
The one I love the most, by far
Your star will shine, through space and time
A symbol of hope, for all the Wolflands

What do I need with the stars and the moon,
When I have the sun in my arms to hold?
What do I need with the night and its gloom,
When I have your warmth to enfold?
Your love, a beacon of light so true,
In your embrace, my heart finds its home,
With you, my darling, I'll never be alone.

There is sunlight in your hair,
Oh my darling, oh my dear.
Shining bright as molten gold,
A sight to see and behold.
In your presence, my world is aglow,
With each ray of sunshine, my love will grow.
Your hair, a golden cascade divine,
A radiant glow, forever mine.

Your eyes, they sparkle like diamonds,
Reflecting the sun's bright light.
In their depths, I find endless joy,
A treasure I hold tight.
Your smile, it radiates warmth and love,
And fills my heart with delight.
In your presence, I'm showered with bliss,
Your radiance, a gift that I won't miss.

The world may be full of darkness,
But with you, I see the light.
Your love is like a ray of sunshine,
Breaking through the clouds in sight.
In your presence, shadows disperse,
As love's warmth we both immerse.
Together we chase away the night,
Guided by love's eternal light.

With you, I am never alone,
For your love is my guiding sun.
Together we brighten each passing day,
Chasing the shadows, keeping them at bay.
In your love's warmth, my heart finds solace,
A radiant love, forever in embrace.

So let the sunlight guide our way,
Through each new dawn, come what may.
With you, my love, I'll forever be,
Basking in your warmth, eternally free.
In this love so pure, we find our bliss,
Sealed with a tender, sunlit kiss.

Oh, my darling, with you I belong,
For in your love, I find my eternal song.

Chapter 16: Sharper than Swords

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 3 of Twirl Three Notes and Make a Star, he references that he's written songs for various other witchers.

Notes:

This one is for Lambert and I actually loved writing this.

Chapter Text

Sharper than swords and quicker than wit,
He's the Witcher known for his deadly grit,
Lambert's the name, he's got a sharp tongue,
And when it comes to monsters, he'll get the job done.

Sharper than swords, Lambert's the man,
Fighting monsters with a plan,
He'll take on any beast that comes his way,
And always come out on top at the end of the day.

He's got a wit as sharp as his blade,
And when he speaks, he's not afraid,
To speak his mind and call it as he sees it,
But his loyalty to his friends, he'll never quit.

Sharper than swords, Lambert's the man,
Fighting monsters with a plan,
He'll take on any beast that comes his way,
And always come out on top at the end of the day.

He's faced the horrors of war and the trials of love,
And come out the other side, still fighting above,
His past may haunt him, but he's not one to dwell,
He'll keep on moving forward, fighting tooth and nail.

Sharper than swords, Lambert's the man,
Fighting monsters with a plan,
He'll take on any beast that comes his way,
And always come out on top at the end of the day.

Chapter 17: Quiet Wolf

Summary:

This Song is from Chapter 3 of Twirl Three Notes and Make a Star, when Jask references that he's written songs for various other witchers.

Notes:

Aubry is the most adorable witcher ever and I love him so much. I enjoyed writing this one so much.

Chapter Text

Silent as the snow that falls on the ground
Aubry moves without a sound
With eyes like a wolf and a heart so true
He's a quiet wolf, but he'll protect you

Quiet wolf, so steady and strong
He'll stand by your side all night long
With a heart of gold and a gentle touch
He's the one you want when the going gets rough

He's not one for words, but actions speak loud
Aubry's the kind to make you proud
In battle, he's fierce and unrelenting
But in love, he's tender and so caring

Quiet wolf, so steady and strong
He'll stand by your side all night long
With a heart of gold and a gentle touch
He's the one you want when the going gets rough

When the night is dark and the world is cold
Aubry's there, his heart so bold
He'll keep you safe and warm all through the night
With his quiet strength, everything's all right

So if you need a friend, someone to rely on
Look for Aubry, he won't steer you wrong
A quiet wolf, but oh so much more
With him by your side, you'll never feel alone.
