Fusionfall: The Council of Ten

Summary:

This fan-creation one-shot is based on Ways’ Fusionfall Fan Concepts. More specifically, the characters that make up The Council of Ten. President Mandy has initiated plans to create The Master Arsenal, a weapon powerful enough to potentially take down Fuse but the method of its creation has some members of the council a bit reluctant. Now at a crossroads, the council has to come to an agreement.

Chapter Text

(Washington DC, The White House, Interior). Mandy was sitting on her golden throne in The Oval Office as the sun’s rays flooded through the window behind her, bathing her in a warm glow. Her Presidential Aide, Ms. Sara Bellum, came in to tell her that Princess Bubblegum had finally arrived.

Dialogue:

President Mandy: “Good, she knows where to go. Is The Commander back from the bathroom yet?”

Ms. Bellum: “Yes, Agent Honeydew wheeled him in moments ago.”

President Mandy: “Ok. That is all, Ms. Bellum. Take the day as well.”

Ms. Bellum: “As per usual. Of course, Ms. President.”

Mandy got up from her throne and walked over to a massive bookshelf as Ms. Bellum left the room, closing the door behind her. Mandy pulled down a book halfway and the bookshelf suddenly opened from the middle, revealing a massive hallway with a door at the end of it. The door was simple, like the ones found on houses and it had a fingerprint scanner to the left of it. Mandy ventured down the hallway, approaching the door and after a quick fingerprint scan, she entered a massive room. The room was dark and the only source of light was coming from a large circular table situated in the middle of the room that had nine other people sitting around it. These were the other members of The Council of Ten, a group of powerful and influential individuals that watched from the shadows and did their work in secret. President Mandy was Co-Founder of The Council of Ten. Princess Bubblegum of The Candy Kingdom was the other Co-Founder of the council. Dexter was in charge of Resource Management via DexLabs, along with being the youngest member. Max Tennyson, as a liaison of The Plumbers. Will Harangue, who was in charge of Public Relations. Jerry Lewis, The Head of W.H.O.O.P. Robin, liaison of the Superhero Community and resident Detective. Commander, Head of Global Security along with his top agent, Agent Honeydew. Nigel Uno or Numbuh One, Leader of Sector V and Agent Six, liaison of Providence. Mandy sat down at the table, overlooking the others seated before her.

President Mandy: “You’re late again, Bonnibel.”

Princess Bubblegum: “Running a country, you know how it is.”

President Mandy: “I do but I’m always on time.”

Princess Bubblegum: “I’m sorry, ok. I won’t be late next time.”

President Mandy: “I’ll hold you to that because it would be a shame if you no longer had a country to occupy your time.”

Princess Bubblegum: “Alright… fine.”

Even with a stern face, Agent Six had to adjust his collar out of second hand embarrassment while Max glared at Mandy with a look of disapproval.

President Mandy: “You have something to say, Mr. Tennyson?”

Max: “I’m quite alright, Ms. President.”

President Mandy: “Ok. Now, let’s start business.”

Will Harangue: “As far as the people know, Ms. President, the heroes that went missing are ‘taking the fight to Fuse’ and I made them look as heroic as possible.”

President Mandy: “What of The Planetoid Fusion fiasco?”

Will Harangue: “Luckily, we bottle capped that story before it spread like wildfire. We can’t have people thinking that piece of Fuse fell to earth, not unless I tell them at least. So the people think that it’s just like the meteorite that crashed landed in Haunted Ridge.”

President Mandy: ”Good. Speaking of, anything new about The Haunted Ridge meteorite?”

Dexter: “After further analysis, I’ve discovered that it’s made of ore that has the innate ability to repel Fusion Matter and its effects.”

Numbuh One: “Is it made of Imaginary Energy?”

Dexter: “No, at least I’m not sure yet.”

Max: “Whatever it is, it can be very useful.”

President Mandy: “By the way Max, how’s surveillance on Planet Fuse going?”

Max: “It’s quite difficult because of the multiple planets Fuse has absorbed, the gravity is harsh so neither The Plumbers nor Global Security’s drones can’t function for long until they give out.”

Dexter: “DexLabs is creating drones that can withstand extreme conditions so we can get–.”

Robin: “Can we stop stalling and get to why we’re here!”

Jerry: “Richard, calm down. We don’t want another–.”

Robin: “Jerry!”

President Mandy: “We’ve been over this, Dick . According to the Samurai, The Master Arsenal is powerful enough to destroy Fuse.”

Robin: “I get that but can’t you see that we’re potentially trading this weapon for a kid’s life?

Agent Six: “I get it, Robin. It’s unfair. The journey itself is a suicide mission but a kid is the perfect candidate.

Robin: “Because of their strong connection to Imaginary Energy, I know!”

President Mandy: “So if you know that, what’s the problem?”

Robin: “Do I have to spell it out for you?! I do not agree with this plan, Ms. President and I’m not the only one!”

President Mandy: “Oh? Who else objects to The Master Arsenal Plan?”

Dexter, Max, Agent Six, Numbuh One and Agent Honeydew rose their hands, going against Mandy. Mandy noticed Agent Six’s raised hand and raised an eyebrow in confusion.

Agent Six: “Even though I understand the plan, doesn’t mean I agree with it.”

Mandy: “You’ve been planning a coup, have you Robin?”

Robin: “Anything to stop this.”

Mandy looked over Agent Honeydew then to The Commander and said; “Looks like you have some conflict at home, eh Commander?”

Agent Honeydew: “Ms. President, there has to be another way to go about this.”

President Mandy: “Ok, do you have any connection to Imaginary Energy?”

Agent Honeydew: “Well… no.”

President Mandy: “Besides, it’s not like you’re a part of the council, you’re just The Commander's walking stick so your ‘vote’ doesn’t count.”

Commander: “Even though we’re on the same side on this, that doesn’t give the right to disrespect my friend, Mandy!”

President Mandy: “We’re not a first name basis, Earl.”

Numbuh One: “Mandy, you’re a kid, why don’t you go to The Dark Glade and make The Master Arsenal yourself?!”

President Mandy: “Why would I sacrifice my own life?”

Robin: “Typical.”

President Mandy: “Ok Robin, you’re still young. Why don’t you volunteer?”

Jerry: “She has a point, Richard.”

Robin: “Cool it, Jerry!”

President Mandy: “Answer my question, Dick ! Why don’t you go?!”

Robin grew silent as he didn’t have an answer.

President Mandy: “That’s the difference between me and you, Robin. I’m willing to stand by my conviction unlike you because if you were, you would’ve been out there getting the job done instead of sitting here and crying about how wrong I am! You want things to change? Get out there and do it yourself, Dick !”

The room was silent, only white noise and the soft buzzing of the lights within the table could be heard until Mandy spoke.

President Mandy: “Now, we’ve wasted enough time. Let’s get back to business.”

Mandy threw down some documents of multiple individuals which included Soyen Chen, Finn Mertins, Jeremie Belpois, Speedy of Titans East, Miles “Tails” Prower, Kimiko Tohomiko and others.

President Mandy: “These are some candidates, I was thinking of–.”

Robin: “I’ll do it.”

Max: “Robin.”

Agent Six: “Are you sure?”

Robin: “Yea, I am.”

Dexter: “Robin, your connection with Imaginary Energy isn’t as strong as someone younger than you–.”

Robin: “It’s enough though, right?”

Dexter: “Theoretically, yes.”

Robin: “Good, then it’s settled. Besides, I’m your best bet.”

President Mandy: “Alright, let’s put it to a vote. All opposed say neigh.”

Princess Bubblegum: “Aye!”

Will Harangue: “Aye!”

Dexter: “...Aye.”

Commander: “Aye!”

Jerry: “Aye!”

Max: “Robin–.”

Robin: “It’s ok, Max.”

Max: “...Aye.”

Numbuh One: “Aye!”

Agent Six: “Good luck, kid. Aye!”

President Mandy: “Dexter, find a way to strengthen Robin’s connection to Imaginary Energy! Max, get him some gear to protect him from Fuse’s infection! Will, Robin’s gonna be gone for a while, make his disappearance non-existent!”

Will Harangue: “Already have a headline, Ms. President!”

President Mandy: “Good. Now, what’s next on the agenda?”

Princess Bubblegum: “Uh, we have to schedule the next game night.”

President Mandy: “Alright, let’s proceed.”

Later, everyone else had cleared out leaving Mandy and Princess Bubblegum alone in the meeting room.

Princess Bubblegum: “Welp, your plan worked.”

President Mandy: “You doubted me?”

Princess Bubblegum: “Well, kinda.”

President Mandy: “Lesson learned then.”

Princess Bubblegum: “I mean, you  made him think that it was his idea so yea, lesson learned indeed.”

President Mandy: “He’s too good of a guy to not put his life on the line to get The Master Arsenal, he just needed the push. Besides, he said it himself, ‘he’s our best bet’ .”

Princess Bubblegum: “So, do you think he’ll come back alive?”

President Mandy: “I don’t know, we’ll just have to see.”

Princess Bubblegum glanced at the documents, picked one up and asked; “So these were the candidates, huh? Wait, Finn’s here too?”

President Mandy: “Those are Robin’s replacements in case the worst happened.”

Princess Bubblegum: “I thought you said that we’ll just have to see?”

President Mandy: “Backup plans.”

Princess Bubblegum: “ Something I know all too well.”

President Mandy: “Good, we understand each other.”

Princess Bubblegum: “I suppose we do.”

The End

Notes:

This took me a while, which is funny cuz it's way shorter than my previous exchange. Hope y'all enjoyed it, though. I went for a more personable story this time around, more serious than my last and that was mainly cuz mah girl Mandy was involved. I think she might be on of my fav CN characters, now that I think about it, top 10 for sure. I appreciate how much of a leader she is and I tried to show exemplify that in the story and I hope I succeeded. So, the Robin representing the other side of the conflict just kinda happened while I was writing and it makes perfect sense so my subconscious was onto something. Also, the tension between him and Jerry was a spur of the moment thing. I mean, Jerry kinda sassy, right? He got some posh to 'em, lol. The Commander's name is a reference to the second VA of the character. Ways' universe is so stacked so dropping all dem characters in the latter part of the story was kinda fun, a lot of 'em to choose from. Now, the twist at the end also came to me while writing as well, so much so that I had to rewrite a bunch a stuff. Even things I first missed. Yup, this was anther fun one. I liked working with these specific characters, having them together like this was a blast. Apart from Mandy and Robin, i had fun with Will Harangue, it was great. Welp, I hope y'all like it.

Chapter 2: Into The Darklands - The Master Arsenal Conflict

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

(The Darklands, Day). A DexLabs airship was flying towards the Darklands, ground zero for where Lord Fuse had crashed onto the earth and the place that’s the most infected. They were approaching the shores of Forsaken Valley represented by the the shift from lush blue ocean to putrid green that skirted across like liquid jelly, waves crashing against brooks like viscous slime. Inside the DexLabs airship were some of the members of the Council of Ten, the organisation leading this mission, one that would assure victory in the war against Fuse. This mission was for the heroes to acquire what was called “The Master Weapon”, a mighty instrument with great power but the journey to acquire said weapon was treacherous. However, that didn’t stop Robin, one of the council members who stepped up to take on the mission. He was in the hangar of the airship being briefed by the other members; Dexter and the President of the United State, a little girl from Ensville, President Mandy. She appeared in holographic form via a holoviewer that DexLabs offered. It was placed on the floor and from it a large form of the President herself was projected.

Dialogue:

President Mandy: “Well, Dick–.”

Robin: “It’s Robin .”

President Mandy: “As I was saying– Dick , I expect you to be successful. Failure is not tolerated.”

Robin: “You don’t have to worry about that… Mandy .”

President Mandy and Robin were scowling at one another, initiating an awkward silence that was as loud as the airship’s engine. Dexter cleared his throat, extinguishing the silence as he started his briefing.

Dexter: “Right, since was on such short notice– we just came to a decision an hour ago…”

Dexter glanced at the President because it was she who quickly moved the plan along.

Dexter: “I didn’t manage to create a containment suit on top of making this.”

Dexter showed Robin a device that was glowing with bright yellow energy that was in the form of a belt that the boy genius placed around the Teen Titan’s waist.

Robin: “What is this?”

Dexter: “This device will make up for your slight lack of internal Imaginary Energy considering you're not as young as this mission would require.

Dexter once again glanced at President Mandy who glared back at him. He then continued; “This will help you create the Master Weapon, the mixing agent so to speak.”

Robin: “I see. So what about containment? How can I travel through the most infected place on earth unharmed?”

Princess Bubblegum, another Council of Ten member, then entered the hangar, announcing her presence; “That’s where I come in!”

Robin: “Wait, were you waiting to reveal yourself?”

Princess Bubblegum: “Yes. Yes, I was.”

Princess Bubblegum stepped forth and presented what looked like a beetle made of black metal that filled both of the princess’ palms.

Robin: “Is that a Shen Gong Wu?”

Princess Bubblegum: “Mhm. It’s called the Black Beetle. From how the young monk explained it, it covers one's body in highly durable armour when you call its name.

The Princess shoved the Shen Gong Wu into Robin’s arms and explained; “Also, make sure you return this bad boy cuz the Xiaolin Warriors deems it very important.”

Dexter: “Wait, when did you have time to go to China? We immediately left for the Darklands after the decision was made.”

President Mandy: “Sonic owed me a favour… sadly for him , he has only begun repaying it.”

Robin: “... Okay .”

The DexLabs airship touched down on Mandark Industries' aircarrier; a larger ship decorated with steel grey, scorching black and scarlet red. It had two large circular segments on the lower sections of each side which was responsible for its anti-gravitational capabilities, keeping it above ground. Robin exited the DexLabs airship with the amplifier device and the Black Beetle Shen Gong Wu. He looked back at Dexter, Princess Bubblegum and the holographic projection of President Mandy.

President Mandy: “Get it done and report back.”

Robin gave the President a sarcastic salute.

Princess Bubblegum: “Good luck, Robin!”

Dexter: “Take care of my device!”

Robin looked down at the device, emanating with Imaginary Energy and replied; “I will.” Robin bid the others a farewell with a tight smile as they flew off to the mainland. The Teen Titans leader walked further onto the carrier where he was greeted by Tetrax, close friend of the Tennysons and the last son of Petropia.

Tetrax: “Greetings, Robin.”

The two greeted each other with the typical Petropian greeting; standing at attention with a fist held up to their right breast.

Robin: “Hey, Tetrax.”

Tetrax: “My apologies for missing Blorthog last week. There’s been an uptick of Magma Hulk activity in the Fire Swamps that I had to tend to.”

Robin: “How’s the situation now?”

Tetrax: “Marginally better.”

Robin: “I see. Well, don’t worry about missing out. Completely understand. Although…”

Robin took out a necklace made of metal beads and presented it to Tetrax.

Robin: “When Star knew I was coming here, she gave me this to give to you.”

Tetrax accepted the item, holding it close to his person.

Tetrax: “I will cherish it for as long as I live.”

Robin smiled and nodded. Mandark, CEO of Mandark Industries and Samurai Jack, then approached the duo. On Mandark’s back was one of Princess Bubblegum’s inventions, the Anti-gravity Tote Chamber but instead of toting tarts, Mandark was using it to contain a bright yellow energy.

Robin: “Is that it? The Imaginary Energy you harnessed from Fusions of Imaginary Friends?”

Mandark took off the Tote Chamber and gave it to Robin, saying; “No, it’s my laundry.”

Robin: “Mhm.”

Samurai Jack: “This Imaginary Energy, the way it moves– it’s appearance… almost like magic.”

Mandark: “Alright, get going. We don’t have time to waste.”

Robin turned to walk away but he looked back at Mandark and corrected him; ”You mean we don’t.” Samurai Jack then followed after the Titan. Underneath the Mandark airship opened up and a tractor beam shot out, hitting the ground. Robin and Jack then flew out of the tractor beam, riding on jetbikes. The jetbikes were sleek and aerodynamic, substituting wheels for anti-gravity, hovering above the ground. They were decorated in a red and black colour scheme, brandishing a black letter “M” on either side of each jetbike. They were blazing through the Forsaken Valley while Mandark was talking to them over the screen fitted into the dashboard of their jetbikes.

Mandark: “You two are going to the Dark Tree but you know that. What you don’t know is the reason why you’re going to the Dark Tree. Seeing as the Imaginary Energy you’re holding were harnessed from Fusions of Imaginary Friends, it’s extremely potent. That being the case, we would need an equally potent supply of fusion matter to create such a powerful weapon. That’s where the– to be honest, the ocean of fusion matter below the Dark Tree spire comes in. Granted, it could've been anyone else– preferably someone younger but you’ll have to do. The thing around your waist not only helps you mix both agents together but since your own internal Imaginary Energy is involved, the belt helps tie the weapon to you. Only you are going to be able to wield it. So get to it!”

Mandark then ended the call and the screen returned to the main menu which was adorned by the contact app, files and the video game Space Invaders. The two kept going until they arrived in the wastelands of Dinosaur Pass which was represented by giant trees, forest sized bushes and massive dinosaur bones jutting out of the ground.

Samurai Jack: “This land used to be ruled by large reptilians before their kingdom then fell. Becoming the wasteland you see today.”

Robin: “My condolences.”

Jack nodded.

Robin: “You know, it is said that dinosaurs had feathers and that they were more related to birds than reptiles.”

Jack glanced at the “R” on the chest of Robin’s suit and commented; “It means from such a small bird lies the power of a titan.” Robin, realising that the samurai was looking at his symbol, smiled and replied; “I guess so.” Robin noticed orange light in the distance, his gaze prompting Jack to look in the same direction.

Robin: “We’re coming up on the FIre Swamps.”

The duo passed through a massive tunnel made of the ribcage of a fallen tyrannosaur, entering the Fire Swamps that was on the other side. Upon Lord Fuse’s arrival, he sent meteorites crashing into the planet, what is now called the Fire Swamps being the place that was majorly affected by this event. There were craters all over the ground, scorched black in their epicenter from the flaming rocks that crashed down while everywhere else was covered in a raging fire that never srops. They eventually entered a narrow pass, surrounded by high burning cliffs on either side and the path was even more narrow, exposing pools of molten rock on each side.

Samurai Jack: “We’re not far from the exit.”

Robin took out his Black beetle Shen Gong Wu, ready to use it when he suddenly went quiet.

Robin: “...Do you feel that?”

Samurai Jack: “...I do.”

The pair then heard a roar from above, accompanied by tremors and loud crashes. The two heroes looked up where they saw a giant creature jumping from one burning cliffside to the next like a monkey traversing through the trees.

Robin: “Magma Hulk!”

Its body was made of scorched rock, dry and cold, containing the molten rock beneath which had a green hue instead of the typical hot orange. IIt’s head was closer to its chest and shoulders and its eyes and giant maw glowed with a hot green glow. The latter of which was visible after each thunderous roar.

Samurai Jack: “Keep going!”

The two sped up their jetbikes, going fast as they could until they made it out the other side. However, the Magma Hulk managed to keep up with the heroes, crashing down before them and obstructing their path.

Robin: “Let’s go!”

Robin leapt onto the front of his jetbike before shooting into the air with a consecutive leap. Robin threw three birdarangs at the Magma Hulk that exploded on impact, covering the Fusion Monster’s left arm in a coat of ice that kept on spreading. Unfortunately, the Magma Hulk broke free of the ice, sending shards of semi-melted ice everywhere. Robin held up the Black Beetle Shen Gong Wu and shouted its name; “ BLACK BEETLE!!! ” The Shen Gong Wu glowed and after a flash of light, Robin was now covered in a sleek black armour. It was adorned with yellow lines across his chest and arms, lines that almost appeared like serpents in how they were situated. He also had on a black helmet that was spiked at the back and exposed some of his face, making his domino mask peer through. Him and Jack then shared a look then charged at the Magma Hulk. The Fusion Monster slammed down on the ground, sending out a shockwave that the pair leapt over but while Robin landed on top of a boulder, Jack cleared the entire 14 feet tall creature, landing on the other side.

Robin: “...Wow.”

Samurai Jack: “I jump good.”

Jack dug his sword into the ground and then dragged it forward, kicking up a torrent of dust and debris at the Fusion Monster, hitting it back a bit. Robin then, from the other side, charged into the Magma Hulk knees first. Protected from the brute’s intense heat as well as the fusion matter infection, Robin was able to strike with enough force to the Magma Hulk flying into a rock pillar. The Magma Hulk got back up spewed molten green rock from its mouth which was headed for Jack. Robin acted fast, relinquishing the Black Beetle Shen Gong Wu, throwing it the samurai’s way and yelling its name; “ BLACK BEETLE!!! ” The Shen Gong Wu formed around Jack’s body, protecting him from being burned. Jack then swung his sword forward, releasing a powerful gust of wind that extinguished the lava flow while pushing back the Magma Hulk. Robin shot into the air and Jack took off the Black Beetle and threw it the Titan’s way. Jack yelled; “ BLACK BEETLE!!! ” and it covered Robin’s body. Robin then brought out his bo-staff, extending it to its limit then struck the brute into the ground as hard as he could, shattering the ground on impact. The force of Robin’s blow was so great that after he landed on his feet, his bo-staff broke apart into little pieces.

Robin: “De Ja Vu.”

Jack stepped up to the fallen creature and raised his sword over his head before slicing down on it, slashing it into two large halves which ultimately eviscerated the Fusion Monster. Robin retracted the Shen Gong Wu as he walked up to Samurai Jack.

Samurai Jack: “I am sorry about your weapon.”

Robin: “Don’t worry about it, I have more.”

Robin took out another bo-staff, extending it to its max length, which made Jack smile.

Robin: “Let’s move.”

The duo hopped back onto their jetbikes and rode off. The pair eventually arrived at Huntor’s Crest which was described as the “armpits” of the Darklands. This dark and infectious place contained the ruins of a long lost fortress now surrounded by plants that were mutated by the infection and Fusion Monsters liked; Skull Bashers, Fusionflies and Wooly Behemoths.

Robin: “Mandark called you the Immortal Samurai. I did look into your history but it ends abruptly and I don’t know why.”

Samurai Jack: “Well, that is because I was transported to the future, a dark future that was ruled by Aku.”

Robin: “I know that name, I think Raven mentioned it before.”

Samurai Jack: “Yes. He was a force of darkness, a black mass that ruled over a world that he moulded in his image.”

Robin: “You said you were sent to the future by this Aku? But that future no longer exists, right?”

Samurai Jack: “No, it does not. Not since I slayed him. However–.”

Robin: “Your future changed to the one you’re in now and you… you’re stuck here, aren’t you?”

Jack nodded.

Robin: “For how long?”

Samurai Jack: “...50 years now.”

Robin: “The Immortal Samurai.”

Jack nodded.

Robin: “Well, I’m glad I gave you the Black Beetle back there. You can live on for 50 more years.”

The two shared a smile. As they rode through the infected wilderness of Huntor’s Crest, they came upon a herd of Wooly Behemoths that were walking by, their stomps sending small quakes through the earth. Jack turned to Robin and held a finger up to his lips. Robin nodded, understanding that they had to be quiet. Robin and Samurai Jack lowered their jetbike’s engine, Robin tugged the Tote Chamber closer to his body and when Jack pointed at the gate they needed to pass through, two silently drove forward. Robin looked up at the Wooly Behemoth’s underbelly he was driving beneath, the looming figure momentarily hiding the sun’s rays. They managed to get by, passing through the gate built using giant wooden stakes, held together by rope and on the other side was the Dark Glade infected zone. They continued on, driving their jetbikes over an impossibly deep ravine across a bridge made of rock with fusion matter that stuck everything together like glue. Robin and Jack arrived at the Warp Pad that led into the infected zone, riding up on their jetbikes to talk to the designated Dexbot in charge of said Warp Pad.

Dexbot: “Please leave all vehicles outside the infected zone. Exposures to the teleporting process will render them inactive once on the other side via electromagnetism.”

Robin: “Well, that’s convenient. We accept your terms.”

Robin and Jack stepped up on the Warp Pad and after a flash of light, they were teleported inside the Dark Glade and before them in the distance was the dark equivalent of the Magic Tree located in Nowhere, The Dark Tree. It was a tree of gigantic proportions, pitch black and covered in glowing green terrafusers, from the trunk to the dead tree limbs that protruded outwards.

Samurai Jack: “That’s where we need to go.”

Robin: “Right.”

Robin checked on the Imaginary Energy inside the Tote Chamber and commented; “Everything seems to be in order.”

Samurai Jack: “Looks like the chamber wasn't affected by the electromagnetism.”

Robin: “ Very convenient.”

The hike to the Dark Tree was turbulent and unrelenting but the heroes managed to complete the entire journey, coming across steep cliffs and fighting their way through Fusion Monsters that crowded the infected zone. After their trek, Robin and Jack finally arrived at the Dark Tree.

Samurai Jack: “We have arrived.”

The two walked across the roots of the Dark Tree that formed into a giant platform, a foothold for the pair to traverse. They walked to the edge of the platform, looking down at the massive ocean of fusion matter below. The same green waves of viscous slime crashing against the spire of tree roots which made the Dark Tree the tallest point in the Dark Glade.

Samurai Jack: “Now, you have to jump in.”

Robin: “Wait, what?”

Samurai Jack: “They didn’t explain this to you? I assumed you knew.”

Robin: “...Mandy. No, I didn’t know.”

Robin looked down at the ocean of fusion matter once more and commented; “I guess this is the suicide in suicide mission.”

Samurai Jack: “Robin–.”

Robin: “It’s alright… I’ll do it.”

Robin turned on the device around his waist and it began sparking with bright yellow energy. Robin turned to Jack, giving him a nod, ready to jump in. However, Robin noticed something coming up on them both but before becould warn the samurai, a sudden tremor rumbled beneath their feet. Stampeding toward the heroes was an army of Jurassic Centurions being led by the head of the pack, the Lord Centurion which was a bigger version of the norm.

Samurai Jack: “Robin! Go, now!”

Robin: “Jack–!”

Samurai Jack: “Go! They must not stop us!”

Robin: “...Here.”

Robin handed Jack the Black Beetle, Jack accepted the Shen Gong Wu and after the two shared a nod, Jack stormed into battle. Robin watched as Jack armoured up and lunged at the horde of Jurassic Centurions, slicing one right down the middle with a single slash. Robin then leaped off the ledge, rocketing to the ocean of green below. He pulled off the Tote Chamber and released the Imaginary Energy that was contained within which started to interact with the device around his waist. Robin was then envelo[ped by a bright yellow light that shined brighter and brighter the closer he was approaching the sea of fusion matter. Meanwhile, Jack sliced the head off of a Jurassic Centurion and kicked that head into another’s. He then landed on his feet, ready to go in for another attack when he heard a splash from below. Distracted, Jack was then smacked to the side, crashing into a root of the Dark Tree by the Lord Centurion that was slowly encroaching upon him. There was a loud explosion that shook the entire Dark Tree, making Jack look up at the Lord Centurion with a smile. A bright yellow light then shot up from below like a geyser of sunlight, it then crashed down on the roots and bursting out of the blinding light was Robin. The Tote Chamber was destroyed and so was Dexter’s device but in his hands was a gigantic sword. A broadsword that shined like a star with a guard and hilt made of scorched black steel. Robin planted his feet into the large roots of the Dark Tree with a stomp, shattering where he stood to pieces and with a booming roar, he swung the sword.

Robin: “ GET DOWN!!!

Jack laid down flat as the either foot tall broadsword flew overhead. Just Robin’s roar echoing throughout the entire infected zone sent ripples through the energy shield that sealed it off from the outside world. He swung the sword with all his might, cleaving through every single on the Jurassic Centurions, including the Lord Centurion while chopping the Dark tree off at the base. There was a loud boom once Robin’s swing reached its apex and a powerful gust of wind and debris that washed away the area as the Dark Tree crashed into the sea of fusion matter below. Once the force died down, Jack slowly got back on his feet and looked back where he saw Robin standing there, resting the Master Weapon on his shoulder.

Samurai Jack: “You did it.”

Robin: “Not without your help.”

Samurai Jack took off the Black Beetle and gave it back to Robin, who asked; “When were you going to tell me that you already had a containment suit of your own?”

Samurai Jack: “I didn’t want to be rude.”

The two chuckled. Robin looked down at his waist and commented; “Sorry, Dexter.” The two then gazed into the distance, Robin stabbing the Master Weapon into the ground. What they were looking at was Lord Fuse’s lair.

Robin: “Next…”

Robin took out the Master Weapon from the ground, pointed at Lord Fuse’s lair and continued; “Is Lord Fuse.”

The End

Notes:

Another exchange done and it was fun... bars? Anyway, when I got Ways' universe to work with once again, I did nothing with for hawt minute but when I finally locked in, I knw it was gonna be a sequel to the Master Arsenal Conflict and that I was about to take y'all into the Darklands. Robin and Sam Jack on a buddy-cop adventure through the end game of Fusionfall, yea it sounded like a dope idea. I hope y'all enjoyed it. This is the second time I delved into the Master Arsenal Saga and the second time I did something entirely different with it that still kept in line with the OG premise. Also, I almost didn't get to include Sonic in this, would've ended the tradition of ding that when adapting Ways' work. That would've been a bummer but I got it in there last minute, lol.

This is my fav line in the story by Jack; “It means from such a small bird lies the power of a titan.” Another bar, maybe? Robin wielding a big fat sword- se what I did there? Yea, so him swinging around a massive sword was inspired by Beta Ray Bill from Marvel Comics and that- as far as I know, he's wielding the Twilight Sword. Yea, I just knew I wanted a giant sword in this one, lol. Anyway, thanks for reading.
