Chapter Text
Soushi does not want to move from his current spot, let alone get up and walk all the way to the door. However who ever it is that insist on ringing his doorbell every second does not seem to care about Soushi's lack of stamina.
With an annoyed grunt Soushi begins to pull himself up and practically drags himself to the door and lazily pulls it open. He stares at his guest with an half-asleep glare.
"Kazuki..." He isn't surprised that he is there considering the man called him ahead of time to tell him he was visiting, but Soushi conveniently forgot.
"You look tired," Kazuki says with a smile. Unfazed by Soushi's glare.
Not having the stamina nor the will to retort, Soushi simply turns around with a sigh and starts to head back towards the comfort of his bed. Kazuki can lock the door, and he can also entertain himself.
Kazuki follows Soushi into his room after locking the door behind himself. He continues to simply smile as he watches Soushi lie back down and curl up. He looks so drained that Kazuki isn't sure what to say. He's never seen him like this.
"When did you move out of Alvis?" Kazuki asks. Making Soushi kind of want to smack him in his drowsy annoyance.
Soushi grumbles something indistinguishable before mumbling an answer, "I didn't move out...I just cleaned this place yesterday and it's too cold to...relax in Alvis."
Kazuki hums in acknowledgement of Soushi's reasons. "Oh so then you're going back there then."
Soushi nods his head in response and then goes silent. Kazuki assumes that is the last thing he is going to get out of him and reaches into the delivery box he brought with him. he figures Soushi is probably hungry and either has no food in this place or was too tired to fix himself anything.
"I brought you food incase you were hungry," Kazuki says. Placing the individual meals out of the take out and on the floor in front of him.
Soushi rolls over in Kazuki's direction at that. Kazuki reads him too well, he swears he can't keep anything from him, but at that thought he inwardly grimaces. He does not feel like telling Kazuki what he's supposed to and decides to beat around the bush.
Soushi sits up and picks up one of the sandwiches and takes a bite. "How are you feeling, Kazuki?" Soushi asks. He needs to make extra sure it worked.
Kazuki smiles brightly. "Great. Thanks to you. I don't suddenly feel dizzy or random pains anymore," Kazuki answers.
Yes. Because Kazuki is saved from his ill fate, freed from his shortened life span now, but honestly Soushi believes it's all too good to be true sometimes. Like maybe this is all a long dream, and that someday he'll wake up to a cruel reality, but everyday he is reminded that this is real and it brings a smile to his face.
"That's good."
Kazuki feels his heart warm from the look of relief on Soushi's face and happiness in his voice, but then he remembers something that was concerning him an decides to see if he knows anything about it. "Soushi have you seen Toomi today? She apparently didn't come home last night, and I haven't seen her all day," Kazuki asks.
Soushi freezes up. Ah, he had to ask the one thing Soushi was trying to avoid. "That's-" Soushi starts, but before he can even say an excuse footsteps resound through the house coming closer to his door until his door slides open.
"Soushi I'm hungry..." She says. Her eyes closed and her hand hovering over her mouth as she yarns afterwards. The woman doesn't seem to realize just how much she just screwed Soushi over, and just how much she is making him want to crawl in a corner.
Soushi stares at her, his eyes wider then he thought possible. Kazuki turns around and looks at her. Soushi can only guess what his face must look like at the moment.
"Toomi...?" Kazuki says slowly. His voice sounds both horrified and confused.
Soushi assumes the horror is from this over all situation, Maya not coming home the previous night, Soushi being so exhausted, Maya walking into his room in nothing but a T-shirt that belonged to him, and the final nail in the coffin; using his first name.
"Kazuki-kun!?" Her tone mirroring Kazuki's. Maya's reaction does not make the situation any better, so Soushi says the first thing that comes to mind. He is honestly disappointed in himself for not thinking of anything better.
"This isn't what it looks like!" The most cliche respond that could only lead one to assume the exact opposite, but Soushi is not lying; it really isn't. They did absulutely nothing the former night, but considering the situation, he doubts Kazuki believes him.
"It really isn't!" Maya chimes in, in support of her partner in crime. Of course they didn't commit any, however as far as Kazuki can tell they might as well had just stabbed him in the back.
"Explain," Kazuki says. Seemingly over his initial shock. Sounding more angry now.
Maya sits down in front of Kazuki, and Soushi gets up to sit beside her.
"I'll explain," he says.

Yes it all started when Soushi decided to go to his old home; it was kept cleaned but no one lived in it. Kuramae ended up staying at Alvis just as he did, and with his Fathers death on that faithful day the house was all but abandoned.
He didn't know what made him want to go there but he did. The place was big and Soushi felt a bit overwhelmed standing in such a huge mansion by himself. That's when Maya entered. She was apparently looking for him and followed him there.
"What are you doing here?" Soushi had asked when the girl entered his house. She answered simply, saying that Kenji wanted her to pass something on to him; it was a manga. He set it aside on a nearby table.
Maya then went to ask him what made him want to go back home and he couldn't really answer her.
"Do you want to move back here?"
Soushi had looked at her surprised. "I don't know, but even though I'm alone in Alvis. This place feels overwhelmingly lonely."
That was when Maya said what got them into their current situation. "I could move in here with you," She had said, and Soushi couldn't stop himself from looking at her like she was crazy.
"You do realize what your saying- I- we aren't even on first name basis!"
Maya had blushed when Soushi pointed that out. "T-Then we'll start calling each other by our first names!"
Soushi blushed as well then hesitantly said, "M-Maya!"
She seemed to turned redder and briefly looked away before making eye contact with him again and saying. "Soushi!"
"Still I'm not going to let you just- just move in! without knowing your reasons," Soushi practically yelled. He had acted weird that day, but in his defense; it was a strange situation to be thrown in.
Maya was reluctant to tell him but she eventually did anyway. "I want my mom and Commander Makabe to finally...ya know."
"Oh..."
Her voice had decreased to a mumble after that. "And well..."
"Hm?"
Maya had shook her head. "No it's nothing! So what do you say?"
Soushi wanted to try and live at his home. He wanted to see what it would be like to live somewhere that wasn't the sterile coldness of Alvis, but didn't want to be alone, and Maya was offering so... "Fine we'll do it. We will live together."
**
Soushi wants to know what Kazuki is thinking now that he knows the entire story. Soushi feels nervous and he wants to curl up, or be held, anything to distract him really. This situation is uncomfortable.
Kazuki finally sighs and Soushi and Maya look at him anxious. "So that's how it is," Kazuki all but mumbles. He then stands up, and Soushi swears he is pouting. "I see!" He says louder.
"Kazuki?" Maya questions.
Kazuki's cheeks are puffed, and his pout is so obvious Soushi finds it kind of cute, but now isn't the time for that type of thought.
"Kazuki where are you going?" Soushi asks.
"Home, all by myself! or something like that. .." his voice quieting down to a mumble. "You two enjoy your living together!" Kazuki says. then leaves.
Maya looks to Soushi. "You're going to have to talk to him."
Soushi sighs. What has he gotten himself into.
