A mad mutt, foolish Marauders are no match for a protective Black heir! And this changes everything...

How far would Regulus go, when he wants his family to be safe?

Regulus had loved Severina Snape for years. The younger Black brother had not only successful courted the brilliant Slytherin witch, but also won her hand. He didn’t care about his mother Walburga Black, or his estranged mad brother Sirius. After all, he had already successfully claimed the Black Lordship, since he was grandfather’s Arcturus favourite. And he had also managed that his beloved bride Severina got secretly reinstated in the Prince family.

 

The only condition for being allowed to bond with Severina had been, that neither Severina, nor Regulus could become Death Eaters. It suited Regulus quite nicely as it would allow him to stay neutral, while still being active behind the scenes. Kreacher had also been loyal to the young Master since his infancy, and he did despise Sirius Black from the bottom of his heart.

It was no hardship for their house elves to invisible spy on the mutt or the other Marauders, while reports got handed over to Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy That the rat – Pettigrew – was willing to betray his own friends – well, it did suit Regulus’ own plans quite well. After all, the mutt will be fully disowned by Arcturus Black on Caesar’s first birthday.

 

Regulus had only need to show his grandfather, how viciously Sirius had treated Regulus’ beloved during their Hogwarts’ days. Severina was still bound by the oath of silence, but she could share her memories, and Arcturus was fuming, that his rebellious grandson dared to go so far. Instead of accepting that he’d ruined any prospects of a future with the brilliant Slytherin witch, he had turned into a male version of Walburga Black.

 

Arcturus had forbidden Walburga from leaving the town house in London, while Orion Black recovers in an Italian sanatorium. It was not far away from the estate that Arcturus had gifted his beloved grandson for his bonding with Severina Prince-Black née Snape.

Regulus had no doubts that his mad brother would be furious about his disownment and thanks to Dumbledore’s order learning about their new home in Italy. He would probably try together with his brother-in-arms James Potter to attack their wards, after all Sirius is unable to learn from past mistakes.

 

But their wards will ensure that those two idiotic young wixen will meet their demise, and as Dumbledore had always protected them, this will be the chance to get finally rid of his order. The Dark Lord will be pleased to learn it.

 

Of course, Regulus had learned that Potter had married the mudblood and had already a child with her, too. The fool is unable to restrain himself, while challenging the Dark Lord. And to make it worse, Regulus had know, that Potter had also lusted after Severina while courting Lily Evans at the same time. Potter needs to keep his hands to himself, or be paying his dues.

Caesar Regulus Severus Prince-Black was the perfect mix of his parents, and enjoying to listen to his mother’s voice. For his family Regulus wouldn’t hesitate to get rid of those pesky Marauders. After all Belby – a fellow Potioneer had complained, that he needed a werewolf test subject for his Wolfsbane, and luckily, it was much too easy to snatch the spineless Lupin, without the Marauders being any wiser. Lupin should have stopped his friends, but the coward never had the guts to do it, while having now shame to exploit his werewolf-status just to gain some empathy from gullible light wixen. He would probably accompany his friends, as he had never learned to tell them No.

 

Which suited Regulus quite well, considering that he had already ensured that their war wards would imprison the unlucky werewolf into a silver cage, until Belby can come to retrieve his test subject.

The Marauders crept closer to the estate. Wormtail isn’t with them, citing his sick mother, who needs him to take care of her, but 3 wixen should be enough to overcome any wards that Regulus may have cast. Sirius had never hated anyone more than his little brother. Not only had he dared to court the witch that should belong to Sirius, but he’d had a child with her, too. For that he’ll pay. Oh, he hopes that his brother had the Dark Mark, since he’ll be enjoying to torture him, before sending him to Azkaban for the rest of his pitiful life.

 

Severina will have no other choice but to accept Sirius’ hand in marriage, unless she wants to see him kill her brat in cold blood. Of course, he would ensure that she will be unable to harm him in any war or form, or even have the chance to contact any of those dark wixen any longer. Who cares that she’s the godmother of Narcissa’s brat. No, if Sirius gets his wish, then she’ll be surrounded by light wixen from now on, and he’ll be even paying a nice sum for bespelled jewelry, so that she’ll be his perfect wife.

 

Oh, he was already looking forward to their wedding night, when she’ll be submitting to her true husband. Why should he grant his brother a merciful death, he wants him to suffer, knowing that his family is at Sirius’ mercy. That’s how you get revenge on those who dare to touch, what isn’t theirs.

James had even encouraged him to go after them, after all, James had always understood him best. And he would be lying, when he ignores that Severina had blossomed into a beautiful and powerful young witch. Lily doesn’t even know that at times James had dreamed from a threesome with the fierce young Slytherin witch and his best mate. After all that would be the ultimate victory over their rival house. Making the proud witch submit to the two Gryffindors and bear their children.

 

How dare Regulus to destroy Sirius’ happiness, for that he’ll pay! Hadn’t even Albus Dumbledore encourage them to go on raids against dark families, as Aurors they can even now use the Unforgivables against suspects, who should dare to blame them? They’re the heroes. Hm, maybe he should suggest to Padfoot, that they’ve kept Severina away from Britain, until she’d learned her place, as well as keeping her away from Regulus’ hell spawn, that should ensure that she’d obey them within months.

 

But what should they do, when they do not have the Dark Marks? The Blacks are a very powerful and influential family, and Sirius does have to fear a full disownment, should his grandfather learns about their ambush on Regulus’ family. Even Moody wouldn’t cover for them, should they go too far.

 

Well, they just have to hoped for the best, and shouldn’t they have a Dark Mark, then they’ll just cast a Dark Mark over their home and leave a dead Regulus Black behind. Using the infant as leverage so that Severina will not be able to disobey them, sounds like a perfect plan, right?

“Is everything alright, Regulus?”, inquired Severina.

 

“Sure, everything is fine, grandfather had a wonderful gift for Caesar’s first birthday. He’ll be fully disowning Sirius, without giving him any chance to stop him. He had also decided that I’ll be the next Lord Black, since we’re the best choice to lead our family into the next century, darling.”, answered Regulus.

 

“You’re right, that’s a fantastic gift for our little prince. I’m still worried as long as the mutt is still free. You know how he views us, and I don’t trust him or any of the Marauders not trying to attack us, just because he can do it. It also didn’t help that Aurors can now freely use the Unforgivables in Britain, thanks to Barty Crouch senior.”, contemplated Severina, as she feed Caesar his evening bottle.

 

“Don’t worry, I’ve risen our war wards, and even added a few new wards, that should be getting active when any of those Marauders tries to cross our wards without our explicit permission. Belby had wanted a werewolf for his Wolfsbane trials, should Lupin be so stupid as to trespass on our land, then we can send him directly to Belby.”, smirked Regulus, as he softly kissed his wife and child.

 

“Wouldn’t he need to inform the Wizengamot about it?”, asked Severina.

 

“Not at all, since Lupin is an unregistered werewolf, should he be caught trespassing, he would normally be forcefully registered or even sentenced to Azkaban. They could even use a truth spell on him, so that he can’t omit anything. Dumbledore will also not be able to stop it, since during the summer he is busy with ICW meetings. Lupin will not be escaping his fate, as well as any of the other Marauders.”, explained Regulus.

The trio waited for the moonrise – new moon will be able to help them to enter the estate, and each of them were eager for blood. Moony has been getting stronger, since he had to infiltrate werewolf packs all over Europe, and at the same time trying to stay far away from Greyback’s pack. He couldn’t risk that the mad alpha would force his wolf to submit to him again, but he believes in the headmaster’s wisdom and it’s the best way to repay him his kindness at the same time.

 

The date had Sirius chosen out of pure spite, it was the night before the first birthday of his nephew, a child that should be his, therefore he will use this day to ruin Regulus’ life. Ah, but wouldn’t that be the perfect revenge, when he claimed Severina in front of his treacherous brother, while Regulus will be enduring the Cruciatus curse again and again. Feeling once more for the red velvet bracelet, that will cut off Severina from her magic, after all, he wouldn’t underestimate his fierce bride, and he’ll be the only one who can take it off, after it’s affixed on her pale wrist.

Dumbledore was still willing to grant his favourites among the order a lot of leeway. As long as they’re not getting caught breaking the laws, they can do whatever they want. Unfortunately for him, he hadn’t known that Pettigrew had a lot of fun exploiting the weaknesses of the order, while capturing more and more of the younger families. There was no reason to kill them, when you can use their children as leverage to make the older ones grudgingly accepts the Dark Mark, less they want to be exposed as traitors to the Ministry of Magic.

 

Since Crouch senior had allowed the British Aurors using Unforgivables without fear of Azkaban, the child gloves were off. It was almost too easy for one of their unmarked supporters to slip in a motion, that any Aurors who got caught on illegal raids be facing harsh penalties and be questioned with Veritaserum and truth spells. Should they be lucky and caught some of those order members outside of Britain, then they’ll be able to declare the Order of the Phoenix as another terroristic organisation.

At the same time had the Dark Lord changed the visibility of the Dark Marks – why should he risk that his most effective followers will be arrested, when he can use his Parselmagic skills to keep it hidden. And it was almost too easy to create a wrong Dark Mark and brand any captured order members, after obliviating them. It’s all fair in love and war! Yes, it was annoying that he wouldn’t be able to have the future Lord Black and his brilliant wife among his ranks, but having them as neutral allies isn’t something to scoff at.

 

Of course it did annoy him, that Regulus Black seems to have found a way to discover and swap his locket horcrux, just to send it back to him with a short note. As the young Black also dared to rig it in such a way, that the soul shard would be reunited with Voldemort’s tattered soul, giving him back some of his sanity.

Moony went first, followed by his pack in their animagi forms. This was easy, maybe it was too easy, went through the werewolf’s mind, before the trap snapped shut. As the bell chimed midnight did Sirius’ grim withered on the ground in pain, as the Black family magic began to fight him, this couldn’t be happening now! At the same time the wards reacted and impaled the unlucky deer, while Lupin got imprisoned in a silver cage, that gave him a good look on the fate of his two best mates.

 

Sirius transformed back, but he did no longer looked like a Black, madness gleams in his eyes, as the mad Auror did once more attack the wards, which was his final grave mistake, as he got killed by Fiendfyre. The werewolf howled in fury and pain, but the cage did shock him, so that he faints.

 

Only the deer was still alive, neutered, but unable to remove himself from the trap. Suddenly Regulus Black appeared at the border, smirking pleased at the carnage, before giving his orders to the house elves. Moony got muzzled and transported to Belby’s Italian laboratory. The ashes of his late brother will be collected in an urn and be buried in an unmarked grave in Godric’s Hollow.

“Oh, Potter. You’re really such a fool. Did you believe that I would allow either you or my deranged brother to harm my family? I’ll be handing you over to the Italian Aurors, who will be ensuring that you will be ruined. Unregistered animagus, conspiring with werewolves, and member of an illegal organisation, you should hope and pray, that they will keep you in an Italian prison, instead of sending you to Azkaban. Unfortunately, there is still the life debt, that my wife may owe you, otherwise I would have no problems to murder you in cold blood for trespassing on my property. Who knows maybe we can get rid of it, when we accept your son as our own, Potter.”, addressed him Regulus calmly.

 

Potter transformed back and tried to attack him, but got once more flung back by the wards. The wards did destroy his wand, while he felt an iron collar affixed on his throat. Unable to use magic, he tries to get rid of the collar without any success.

 

“Do you like this, my darling wife had created this ward just a few months ago. It’s a perfect way to stop anyone with malicious intent to attack us with magic. You won’t be able to get it off. And do you know, what’s even better, it will ensure that you be unable to tell a single lie, should you be questioned by the authorities.”, smirked Regulus proudly.

James gasped, this was a nightmare, but it wasn’t over, yet. The Italian Aurors had arrived and taken the trespasser with them. None of them said anything about the wards, after all you were allowed to protect your family during times of war. Regulus Black and his wife Severina were a welcomed addition to the Italian Ministry of Magic, and enjoying the special protection of the Italian Minister of Magic, too.

 

He got questioned by the Italian Aurors, who didn’t care that he was a British colleague, and after a quick trial with a translator and an appointed defense wizard, Potter got locked up in an Italian wixen prison. No dementors guarded the prisoner, but he got forced to wear anti-animagus cuffs, and also an iron collar that cut him off from his magic. He got told that he’ll be spending at least 5 years in prison, before he can be transported to a British prison. Should he behave well, then the rest of his 15 years prison sentence will be changed to House arrest at one of the Potter homes in Britain. Of course he’ll be banned from Italy for the next 30 years after he got handed over to the British Aurors, and he’ll be blacklisted of ever again working at the British Ministry of Magic.

Dumbledore learned about the arrest of James Potter in Italy, but the trial was over, before he could try to meddle. He got served with a magical restraining order by the Italian Ministry of Magic, that forbid him from ever contacting any of the Potters or Dumbledore would be facing a few years in Azkaban.

 

Unable to get answers from James, Dumbledore was forced into multiple hearings and lost his political positions in the UK and on the ICW – and was put on probation as Hogwarts’ headmaster. Another low blow had been that his vigilante group – the Order of the Phoenix – had now been listed as a terroristic organisation on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Magic.

Lupin suffered a lot at Belby’s hands. He’d had to suffer a silver collar, and handing over his wand to his new master, or it would be snapped. The Wolfsbane potion seems to help him a bit in enduring his monthly transformation easier, but being kept in a kennel and treated like a mindless beast, wasn’t helping Lupin’s mood. Belby loved reminding him, that should he only try to escape from the kennel, then he’ll be facing the merciless laws for being an unregistered dangerous dark creature.

 

As he foolishly demanded an answer, did he got hit with numerous strong electric shocks by the new collar, that also leave deep burn scars behind. Belby still answer his question, and enjoyed the naked fear on Lupin’s face. He did not dare to rebel against any of Belby’s experiments, as the punishments would be quite dire for him. Knowing that Sirius is dead and not knowing about James’ fate had almost broken the young werewolf. He also knew that the order of the Phoenix wouldn’t even bother to look for him, even if most of the members didn’t know his secret.

Lily received a letter from the Italian Ministry of Magic. It was short, just telling her that her husband had been arrested for a crime on Italian soil, and that he’ll be spending at least 5 years in prison, before being transferred to an English prison. She had been dismayed to learn about it, but not even involving the headmaster changed it. It was so embarrassing, as the Daily Prophet runs a series of articles about it. Even worse they’ve even seems to get their hands on James’ detention slips at Hogwarts and used it to remind anyone that he was always a rotten apple.

 

Nothing what Lily did seem to stop the reporters. She had unwisely given one interview, but even that backfired, as she dared to claim that her husband had bravely saved the life of Severina Snape during their 5th year. Because the reporter replied back, that he’d only saved the lives of his two best friends, and the victim got silenced by the headmaster, therefore how can anyone believe Potter to be a hero.

 

She’d even tried to write to Severina, but all letters got send back unanswered. But it should be getting even worse, as on 1st January 1982 Aurors appeared on her doorstep to take her away for questioning. Lily had no choice but to accompany them, as she didn’t want to spend any time in a holding cell. This had to be a nightmare! However she wouldn’t have been so calm, had she known that her son got handed over to Regulus Black, who got chosen as new guardian for the last Potter heir. As Sirius did blood-adopt him, Harry’s custody fell automatically to the new Black heir and his wife.

Severina and Caesar were looking forward to meet the little tyke, and should Lily end up in prison, then nothing would speak against them adopting the boy a few years later. Unlike his parents he would be getting a choice, and it also saves him from ever being at risk from any foolish prophecies. Severina had already suggested to slightly de-age the boy, so that his new birthday will be on the 5th of August 1981.

The Longbottoms had revoked their membership in the Order of the Phoenix, after the Marauders had disappeared, their little family will always come first, and they’ve begin to trust Dumbledore less and less, as more and more of their order members had disappeared. They were among a small minority that read the signs on the wall and left the sinking ship, before facing legal troubles.

 

The Prewetts had followed, and since Molly was only allowed to marry Arthur Weasley, after she’d given a vow to never going against her father’s decision, she had no other choice as to obey, too. Her father hadn’t been pleased to hear rumours about love potions hounding them everywhere, and therefore insist, that both had to undergo extensive testing at Gringotts, not only before their bonding ceremony, but also each time a new pregnancy got announced.

 

And now imagine their horror, as the test shows that someone had put magical leaches on them to siphon away at least ¼ of their magical core. They weren’t the only ones, the Longbottoms had the same result, and it had been another nail in Dumbledore’s coffin! Rita Skeeter had a field day reporting about the eavesdropped results, and more and more voices were now calling for a trial, while the loyal sycophants tries to claim, this was just another fruitless try to demonise the Great Albus Dumbledore!

Peter Pettigrew gladly informed the Dark Lord about the identity of loyal Dumbledore supporters, and within months the holding cells at the British Ministry of Magic got filled with disgruntled order members. Minerva McGonnagall got put on probation, and got informed that she would never become Headmistress of Hogwarts, due to her membership in an illegal terroristic organisation and also blindly following Dumbledore for years. It was a big shock for her to learn, that the Marauders had been unregistered animagi since their school days. But after learning about the leach to her own magic, she had to be magically restrained, less she tries to murder the old coot in cold blood! The Goblins did only agree to show her the rest of the findings, after she had taken one of their own special calming draughts, and even then did she still manage to destroy most of the office at Gringotts! After paying the fine, they’d suggest she needed a long vacation to not only finding back to herself, but also learn how to deal with much more magic at her disposal. She would have to attend sessions with an experienced mind healer, before being allowed to return to her teaching position!

Dumbledore had been exiled from Britain, and he had been lucky, that this had happened, before learning about the numerous leaches to boost his own magic. The connection to Fawkes had been cut off, and as a reminder, why he is a disgrace, he had even lost his wandarm, too. It had been centuries since this punishment had been used the last time, and then he got portkeyed away to Siberia. A small plot of land well-protected by magic would help to sustain him, and after his death, he’ll be cremated and buried in an unmarked grave. He’d only managed to hide the legendary death stick, before the Aurors had arrested him. And just to humiliate him further had they affixed a wooden hook on his amputated wandarm. Needless to say, he hated every minute, as they do not even allow him to keep any magical books in his new home or even ingredients for some alchemical experiments or to brew potions. He did also notice it, as more and more of the leaches got destroyed, as it weakened him even more. Nobody spoke with him, nobody seems to care for him any longer. He was just a vague reminder of a failed powerful wixen. And each year on his birthday did he receive a mocking card by Lord Voldemort, who thanked him for his contribution to conquer Magical Britain!

 

Hagrid had voluntarily followed him to Siberia, never believing that those rumours could be true, and was the only one who still held to him, until his final hours. After finding Dumbledore’s corpse, did Hagrid change him into fresh clothes, before send an owl to the British Ministry of Magic and went to the nearest pub to get drunk. The Aurors found him their hours afterwards, stunned and obliviated him, before dropping him off in the nearest giant colony. Nobody ever heard anything from Hagrid again, who was unable to leave the colony or even remember, that he had once upon a time be able to wield magic.

Peter had his own form registered on his 17th birthday, if the others are too stupid to do it, then it’ll be their loss. He wasn’t keen on ever spending any time behind bars, and therefore he know what he needs to do. Becoming a Death Eater seems to be the next logical step, considering how quickly they’re managed to win the upper-hand during the civil war. And it was thanks to the Death Eaters, that he would now be able to ensure that his mother will be getting the best healers for her sickness, something that nobody else had offered.

Lily also faced a few years in house arrest, and since she did unwisely try to break the rules of her house arrest, she’ll be facing real trouble. Her appointed probationary auror informed her, that she had to spend the rest of her house arrest in a special training facility, that got helmed by Dolores Umbridge. The unlucky witch didn’t know that this facilities had the task to break and brainwash the unlucky prisoners, before releasing them back into Magical Britain. Or often just sell them to anyone who wish to buy a slave.

 

On paper she was still married with James Potter, however Pettigrew had asked the Dark Lord for getting Lily as his new breeding slave, after a health check had shown, that she is had a high fertility, similar to the Weasleys. Before her sentence is over, she will no longer be able to call herself Lady Potter, as James will be informed about his forced annulment of his marriage to Lily Potter. Since he hadn’t decided to do a bonding this was easily done, and then he would be informed, who is next bonded wife will be. Lily hadn’t wanted a bonding, she wanted only a wedding, and this did bite her now viciously. James’ future wife will also becoming the new head of the Potter family. Imagine his horror as he got told, that he had to marry the sister of Vincent Crabbe senior, and the new contract would demand at least 2 children within the next 5 years. Since the Potters and Crabbes hadn’t been married, this was seen as a good match. He would also have to swear a Vassal oath to the House of Malfoy, as the Crabbes were their loyal vassals for centuries, and this was binding for anyone who marries into their family.

 

He had believed to be neutered, but had learned to his dismay, that he had been fully healed, after all, there should be no way for him to escape his future marital happiness.

Of course, James did ask after his son, and learned to his horror, that Harry got adopted by Regulus and Severina Prince-Black, but he is still the primary heir to the Potter estate, as long as James didn’t have any other male children. He wasn’t allowed to meet his estranged son, since he hadn’t shown to deserve such a privilege, yet.

 

He’d only asked what happened to Lily, as the Ministry official had to check, that the wedding hat been legally annulled, and didn’t want to believe the truth. It got even worse as a giddy Peter Pettigrew appeared and told the unlucky Potter, that he called dibs on his ex-wife. After all, she had shown, that she can give birth to powerful magical children, and it’s just a small reward for all the years of humiliation and disrespect by the other Marauders.

 

Lily had thrown a fit, as she got informed after ending up in the training facility, that she would be handed over to Pettigrew as his new breeding slave. Any follower of the Dark Lord, who is able to have children needed at least to have 2 magical children, as one of them had to serve the Dark Lord. Should squibs be born to any follower, then the family will be losing some of their influence as well as be facing years of extremely supervision by other loyal Death Eaters.

Mudbloods got removed from the allowed insults of muggleborns. With the persecution of Dumbledore’s vigilante group and his own death in exile, nobody seems to be keen on stepping up as new head of the rebellion. Muggleborns got educated at their own smaller schools – going to Hogwarts was a reward, should you be adjusting well to the primary school education. Magical children that are born in non-magical families got earlier taken away, depending on their magical outbursts and be placed into special magical orphanages, but also foster families took in the litte wixen.

 

A special chocolate flavoured potion got given to each taken child, so that they lost their memory at their old life. The separation between muggle and Magical Britain got enforced much stricter. After graduation from their magical schools, the young wixen got a choice to choose – Magical or Muggle life. It was their only chance, and should you choose the muggle world, then your magic would be bound, and you will be losing your memories of your magical education. A fake muggle equivalent will be placed in the hands of the young wixen, as well as a small cash of British pounds, and the wixen had also had to snap their own wands.

 

Needless to say, there weren’t many wixen, who even dare to choose the muggle world, after only hearing horrible stories about it. Those rules were also only valid on the British isles, after all the Dark Lord wasn’t stupid, and didn’t want the ICW to interfere with his new regime.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that you could face harsh punishments, when you got caught with muggle contraband, as this shows a lack of your pride in being magical. And only the most reckless of Dumbledore’s order of the phoenix establish a secret black market under the leadership of Arthur Weasley. Having lost his children, due to being an order member had been a harsh blow to the easy-going Arthur. Therefore he went into hiding and establishing his own smuggling routes into the forbidden zones of Muggle Britain.

 

Peter enjoyed having the full control over Lily, but told her, that she will be able to buy her freedom, after giving him at least 2 magical children. He isn’t a brutal overlord, and he will even hire a wet-nurse for the babies. After fulfilling her part of the duties she can be returning to Muggle Britain for good. Of course, he didn’t bother to tell her, that should she foolishly choose this option, she would get her magic bound, and be obliviated of her magical life. And that her sister had already disowned her for choosing magic over muggle life! Her parents have died in a car accident a few months after she got sentenced to house arrest, and Lily had never learned the truth.

 

She also would never known that she is related to Albus Dumbledore, and should this ever be known than she would nowhere ever be safe, except by the extreme die-hard Dumbledore sycophants. Peter had known it, because the cunning rat had taken some of her blood to get an inheritance test done and being able to claim a small part of the assets, before it got frozen. Maybe he would use it to taunt her someday, but that could wait. As long as Lily behaves, he had no reason to use it. And this wasn’t certainly something he wanted Dolores or his other allies to ever know about.

 

He’d been able to tell Dolores, how he wanted Lily to be trained. She shouldn’t be turned in an absolute meek slave. After all, it’s more fun being able to regularly punishing her for breaking any rules, that Peter decided on a whim. But she should be forced to wear a shock collar, that also makes her getting wet, whenever her new master insulted her. Peter was going to enjoy it to take her down a few pegs. She had never taken him seriously, and for that she was going to pay dearly.

 

Peter wasn’t stupid, he wouldn’t risk his unborn children, but Lily really needs to learn, that she isn’t the most popular girl any longer! That she not even bothered to ask about James’ son, just shows that she had never really loved him, just what he could do for her. And as the good friend that he is, Peter did inform James about it, as he was the only one who was still allowed any contact with him.

Remus Lupin did suffer quite a lot at Belby’s hands, the werewolf had no idea, why Belby had always singled him out, as he wasn’t the only werewolf in those kennels. It seems that many magical governments had been quite interested in either a potion to tame the werewolves or a cure for the virus itself. Unable to keep his mouth shut, he made the mistake to ask him, shortly before the next full moon rises in the night sky! Belby had only scoffed, before revealing the shocking truth to the shivering Marauder.

 

It had been one of their lunch breaks that had cost Belby’s favourite cousin his life. The young Ravenclaw witch had a rare allergy, and one of their thoughtless switching of the pumpkin juice with the tampered one caused the young witch to suffocate. Before Poppy could even realise what’s happening, did the young witch die painfully. Of course, Dumbledore did cover it up, and the Marauders had never even noticed that one of the little Ravenclaws had collapsed.

 

Peter wasn’t involved as he had been in the infirmary due to Sirius’ carelessness in their last potions lesson, and therefore be the only one of the Marauders who had been innocent. And still he did offer Belby to make some amends, should he just name it, he would ensure that he can get it. Giddily sharing everything he had learned about werewolves during his school years with Lupin, and even offering some of his own future children as part of a marriage contract, should Belby wished for it.

 

Belby only learned the truth, as his family insisted on a full autopsy, and vowed revenge! He had bought his time, while studying for his Potions Mastery. Creating the Wolfsbane was not only a way to ensure that he made a name for himself, but being able to someday get his revenge on one of the culprits that caused his cousin’s death. He had heard the rumours about a dark creature being attending Hogwarts. And Severina had been one of the students who had been quite close to him, without the Marauders any wiser.

He had been the one who had enabled Severina to study under Belby’s old Potions Master, and the rich gift basket had been a pleasant surprise. He had also been one of the godparents of Severina’s firstborn son. Belby had interrogated the enslaved werewolf and learned, who of them had the stupid idea. It had been Sirius Black, but unfortunately the disowned Black was already dead, and Remus Lupin didn’t really seem to show any true remorse for his contribution in causing an accidental death at Hogwarts. It was only a Ravenclaw firstie, not important for the Greater Good.

 

Needless to say, Lupin paid for it dearly. He would never be set free, and until the rest of his days be serving as a human guinea pig for any sort of potions experiment and of course the different Wolfsbane adjustments. Considering how much he even seems to despise his inner wolf, although the wolf was at least the honest of the two halves, Belby grinned darkly as he informed a shivering Lupin, that he would neuter him within the next six months. Since he wouldn’t want to be able to sire any cursed offspring, he shouldn’t miss anything afterwards.

 

James Potter did learn about it, due to a talk with his current probation officer. After Harry’s birth he had grown up a tiny bit, and never wanted his own children to ever experience any bullying. Learning that one of their pranks had cost a child’s life did hit him hard. How come that they had never learned about it during their years at Hogwarts? Would they have been stopped from getting total out of control? He had no idea, but he had some restless nights, before praying to Lady Magic and vowed on his magic, that he will be turning over a new leaf. He also established a scholar ship for gifted poor students and named it after the dead student. And he did write a letter of gratitude to the Blacks, after receiving some photos of Harry back. It seems that miracles can happen and that he slowly grow up.

 

He also agreed to make amends with Belby, should he be interested, agreeing to pay a weregild and as a sign of respect naming one of his future daughters after the dead girl and Belby would be their godfather.

 

The infamous Potter heirloom had already been handed over to Regulus Black, who will gift it to Harry on his 17th birthday, together with a watch and a few other useful gifts for moving into his own apartment after graduating from Hogwarts.

Epilogue

 

30 years after the Dark side had won the civil war had many things changed for the better in Magical Britain. Yes, the separation between both worlds was more or less set in stone. The order of the phoenix had no longer the nimbus of a heroic group, but will find their way into the history books as a terroristic organisation.

 

2 of the Marauders had survived, although due to one of Belby’s experiments, he learned that a werewolf can’t automatically infect his biological offspring, which allows him to milk their cum and to offer it to magical fertility clinics in Magical Britain. This allowed a young widowed Auror (Nymphadora Tonks) to become a mother of a brilliant infant, who shares her metamorphmagus abilities. She’d named him Edward “Teddy” Tonks, after her father.

 

Lupin had died due to pneumonia at the age of 50, and was allowed a grave on the Hogsmeade cemetary. Nobody else ever learned about his werewolf status, and shortly afterwards was Severina & Damocles able to present a true werewolf cure to Magical Britain.

 

Lily disliked being forced into servitude to Pettigrew, but she didn’t want to end up as a tramp on the streets of Muggle Britain, and her own children did also look down on her, which galls the proud muggleborn witch immensely. While they did look up to their father and asked him about his time as a spy for the Death Eaters. For which he had even received an order of Merlin 2nd class.

 

James Potter learned to accept his new life, and after a few years, he even learned to love his new wife, who also liked Quidditch almost as much as James does. They had been extremely proud, as their eldest daughter got chosen to play for the English National Quidditch team as a chaser, and Charlie Weasley as their new seeker, who had lost a bet and therefore agree to play a few years for his home team, before going back to work with his beloved dragons.

Caesar Prince-Black got the chance to work as a curse breaker for Gringotts, while his adopted brother Harry became a healer. Both were also silent investors for the Prewett twins (Fred & George Prewett) joke shop, with the permission of their parents.

 

Regulus and Severina stayed happily married all their life and still live mainly in Italy, while Caesar and Harry had returned to Britain after finishing their training. They had 3 more children (Orion, Hebi & Callisto) who attended an Italian magic academy.

 

Neville Longbottom did not only become one of the youngest Hogwarts professors, but later one of the youngest Hogwarts headmaster in Magical Britain. Luna Lovegood replaced Trelawney as the new divination professor, while her husband Rolf Scamander took over as Care for Magical Creatures Professor. History got taught by Percy Weasley, even if you still found students, who complained over the loss of their nap time, but more and more students managed to pass their OWLs and NEWTs in Magical history.

And once a year, on Dumbledore’s death day were all students and the staff encouraged to throw rotten fruits and vegetables on his unanimated portrait. Marvolo had ensured that the portraits of his old foe wouldn’t be destroyed, but kept forever unanimated, except for one. But this copy had the bad luck to be forever bound to Walburga’s portrait. Never able to escape, as both will be kept deep down within the bowels of the Ministry of Magic.

 

As Mundungus Fletcher tries to steal the portrait to sell it for some cash on the black market, something makes him stumble and the portrait got flung into the Veil of Death! Fletcher ended up in Azkaban, as cell mate of Alastor Moody.

 

All was well, and to imagine that this only could happen, due to a mad mutt and his foolish friends. It seems at least some of the deities will still be able to find amusement in such pranks. Although Death probably still grumbles over the tons of paperwork, due to their meddling with fate.
