Chapter Text

"So how exactly did you get his number so fast anyways?" You asked. You two had moved to the back of the cafe, sitting in some comfy chairs next to a small table. You leaned against the plush armrest as she explained. "Well, i walk past him and two other guys every day on my way to work. They tend to stand in the  bus stop in front of the grocery store, and a couple weeks ago i heard Toby talking about how bored he is in this town.. And he seemed roughly 19 so i figured he'd be up for a party." She smiled, leaning in your direction as she spoke, so proud of herself. "Party? Who in the world is throwing a party?" You asked, confused. You guys lived in a small town, so small word traveled like the plague. So the fact you didn't hear anyone talk about a party yet was a little odd.

"The one I'm throwing!" She exclaimed, sitting up excitedly. "Ill throw a massive party! I'll even get your favorite vodka brand~" She cooed, leaning towards you again.. You knew what she was doing now, she was setting up a situation with her rich kid money so you could talk to him. But how could you say no to that kind of offer? Your favorite brand was a little pricy, she was the reason you even tried it. "Ok." You groaned, caving instantly, you really couldn't pass that up. "Yay!" She cheered, razing her arms up in the air like a child.

You had shown up early to help her prep.. And to make sure you got to have at least one vodka before anyone else got there. What? The nerves were eating you up inside and that would at least help a little. That and you were paranoid you wouldn't get one if it waited.. But either way, Toby would be showing up, and despite swearing you didn't like him like that.. Or that much. A part of you was glad for this opportunity, another petrified that Susan was making you do this.. As a just in case you thought of the best escape plan you could.. Just in case.

You two had finished just in time as people started to show up. Susan had a MASSIVE house but you two only bothered with the main floor. For the most part it was just basic decorations that you, Susan and her hired house staff had put up. She also made sure to move some larger furniture out into the garage so people had space, as well as set up a large variety of drinks and snacks on the counters in the kitchen.

Once you two finished you grabbed a drink and moved to a corner in the living room as people poured into the house. After about an hour, you saw the man.. Toby enter the house with two other guys. He was less sketchy now, his hair a fluffy mess and wearing a black T-shirt and ripped jeans. The man on Toby's right was decently tall, tho ironically shorter then toby. His short brown hair was swooped on one side, with sideburns. He wore a black shirt with a tan jacket. He had proper jeans that were loose around his ankles. And on the left, the guy was about his height if not an inch taller. He wore a green button up tucked into his- you guessed it, slacks. No Im kidding, he had jeans, as well as a visible belt. His hair shorter, but that lopsided grin with that tooth gap made your heart jump through hoops.

After a moment you saw Susan run over and greet the three. She then looked around before spotting you and said something to the boys before running over to you. You froze, only able to watch as she approached. "Y/N! He's here~" She wiggled her brows at you as she grabbed your arm. "Come and say hello!" Susan then started to drag you over to the guys before you could protest. You let her, growing more uncomfortable the closer you got before completely freezing up. Sweet old anxiety making you want to cry as she introduces you to the three. "Guys, this is Y/N! Y/N, Toby, Tim and Brian!" She pointed to each guy as she said their names, still holding you so you couldn't run away.. Not that you could. All 'Deer in headlights'.

The three smiled and waved, Toby seeming tense.. He looked uncomfortable as he twitched, his head jerked twice. Toby remained tense for a moment longer before relaxing his body. "Why don't you two go and check out the drinks?" Brian said, looking over at Toby, Toby's body tensed as he looked towards Tim as if he was asking for help. Tim cleared his throat before talking. "Actually, I want to go have a smoke.. And I'd rather not be out there alone, you know what happened last time.." He chuckled, Brian nodding in agreement. Susan turned and gestured to the kitchen as she looked at you, wiggling her brows. You sighed and relaxed your body the best you could before looking to toby and gesturing to the kitchen with a nod.

It was rater awkward, to be honest you weren't sure what you were expecting. You reached for your drink of choice and offered him the bottle, but his immediate reaction was to furrow his brows and scrunch his nose. "H-how does ssssomeone dr-drink this tr-trash?" He muttered before registering you handed it to him. "O-oh uh.. Sssorry it's it's just not my th-thing.." He spoke softly, putting it down before sifting through his options. "No it's ok.. Everyone has their own opinions." You shrugged, feeling rejected but brushing it off. His calm confident demeanor, even if a little rude, helped to soothe your anxiety. He would mix a couple things together, his preference seeming to be with the liquors. After he had his cup he would offer you a sip, a smile on his face. After a moment of nothing, he would speak up. "T-try it. I think y-yyou'd like it."

After a moment of hesitation you'd take it, the mix being a rather generic one. Tho regardless, it tasted rather good. "Fuck thats good." You'd mutter in amazement, not expecting such. Toby chuckled softly as you reached the cup back to him, he wouldnt take it though. "You want it? I c-can mmake another." You quickly accepted his offer, having planned to ask him to make you one later anyways. "Hell yeah!" It was weird to you, how quickly you settled into his presence. Sure you were social for an introvert with social anxiety, but it usually took you longer then this.

Following this, you two would walk around and talk about little things. Stuff you guys do for fun, favorite animals. Occasional stories of stuff you or someone else did. But soon enough games started popping up. Susan loved teen movies, so she tended to make her parties look like those in said movies. Beer pong, never have I ever, truth or dare, spin the bottle. You get the picture.

Notes:

I have edited this twice now, tho this time it was just some tweaks and adding some things. I will definitely come back again at some point to finish it off, but right now I need a break from writing after working on "Blood Love"
