Chapter Text

Shadow the hedgehog was extremely pissed. Well he was usually pissed in situations like now, when a handsome annoying blue hedgehog was involved. Earlier he had tried to slow the Faker down but the damn idiot just would not listen. Rouge had asked them before they left their apartment for the day to check out what Dr Eggman had planned. When he did a deep dive, he noticed readings on the prism had changed three months ago and scientists had abandoned the project then.

As Sonic sped off Shadow groaned and kicked their Air Shoes ( Not roller skates like Sonic insisted) on and started to skate towards the mountain where the Paradox Prism was located. During the run he pulled out their chaos emerald in case he would need to make a quick Chaos Control for Sonic and his friends or Rouge.

Leo was bored. That's B-O-R-E-D. He had reorganized the medbay thrice, read all the Jupiter Jim comics in timeline and alphabetical order, and got extra food for Mikey to make enough meals for at least three months. Raph had seen his agitation and asked him to go ask Señor Hueso if he needed anything.

When he got there the skeleton Yōkai had said that “No Pepino, but if you would really like you can keep an eye on the alley for anyone with any weapons or ill intents, like the police or mob.”

So here Leo was, sitting on a rooftop waiting for something to happen. His legs were starting to cramp from sitting there since two in the afternoon and the sun was starting to set. Thankfully for him something interesting finally happened. The wind started to pick up and a glowing crystally portal with red, orange, green, blue, and purple coloring sizzled into existence. Once it was done forming a spiky black and red ball and a three-ish feet tall blue thing fell out. The portal zapped out of existence soon after. 

Leo decided that instead of deciding that they were threats immediately wasn't a good plan and silently watched the ball unfold and started yelling at the blue one. They were about the same size and didn’t seem to be Mutants or Yōkai as they weren't scared of humans seeing them and looked too animalistic to be Yōkai. Leo felt bad for the blue thing, memories of Raph yelling at him right before the Kraang attack still fresh on his mind. Sure he absolutely deserved it but that doesn't mean it doesn't still hurt. Anyway it seemed like the red highlights had run out of gas and started sulking in a corner. They didn’t seem to want to leave so Leo let his attention drift to the blue dude. They looked kind of shell shocked (teehee) and in a little bit of distress. Leo decided that he wasn’t going to get a lot of information this way so he decided to teleport to the entrance of the alley way so as not to scare them. The way their body language was giving off the vibes that wouldn’t appreciate someone jumping out at them, and he probably would not see them again. 

He took a big breath and shouted. “Hey! You guys from Jersey?” From their confused expressions they didn’t get it. “Ah nevermind. You do look lost though, want a pointer to the nearest Hidden City opening? I can take you there and you can tell me how you ended up here.”

The blue one was opening his mouth to speak but they slipped on their shoes. Red highlights rolled their eyes playfully with a faint smile but then seemed to notice what they were doing and froze with a faint blush before switching to their previous uncaring face. Leo pointed his attention back to Blue’s shoes and noticed that they were rollerblades, which explained why they had fallen- They must be new. They're rollerblades that were red and had a black stripe with a circle. The wheels were also black along with their socks. They also had black fingerless gloves with red ones underneath. It was a weird fashion choice, but hey Leo didn't technically wear clothes. He realized he had zoned out a smidge and Blue had said something.

“Sorry, what was that? I didn’t catch that.” Blue shrugged and said. “My name's Sonic, he/him please” He raised his voice a little bit. “Shads! Introduce yourself!” ‘Shads’ picked themself off the wall and spoke.

“Shadow the Ultimate Lifeform, He/they. How we got here is none of your business. We are looking for either a two-tailed fox, pink hedgehog, echidna, or white bat Mobian. Have you seen any of them?” 

Leo was about to answer that he hadn’t but then a bang echoed along with a loud laugh around the alleyway, Hypno and Warren, and from the sound, someone else. He shot a quick text to the Hamato group chat with his location and was about to jump into action when he remembered the hedgehogs behind him. He glanced back at them and was surprised to see Sonic having a panic attack in Shadows arms. The red one was whispering something about… Infinity?

As soon as the laughter had started Shadow knew to turn to their partner rival. While Infinite had been dealt with a long time ago and Faker had said that he was fine Shadow knew that wasn’t true. He had their own trauma to deal with and it didn't go away, and definitely not after about a year. But, since the rest of the world had to deal with it too, Sonic was expected to be healed to help others. The point is Shadow was used to holding him in their arms so they knew exactly what to say. And no Rose, that was not because he cared about him. So what if Sonic had been added to the very very short list of okay to touch people. Maybe it only consisted of Rouge, Omega, Cream, their Chao, Vanilla, Maria, and Sonic but that didn’t mean he liked him! 

The tall turtle, who hadn’t given their name yet, had opened up their phone and texted someone but now was turned around and awkwardly stood there looking at them. And they weren't even cute like when Sonic did it. Wait what? Anyways, Shadow was just about to open their mouth and glare at them but then there was an abrupt stop to the laughter and a loud voice accompanied by a large purple glow.

“FIBONACCI!”As this all happened the Turtle’s face lit up and Shadow shuffled Sonic to a position where they could protect him. Sonic at this point had mostly moved his panicking and flashbacks inside and now just looked confused and overwhelmed.

Another turtle jumped from the roof with a purple mask and related accessories. They had a large purple gun which Shadow looked at interestingly and a hippo, jackal (who Shadow really hoped wasn’t who he thought it was), and a worm with a bad hairdo hogtied behind them.

“Salutations, Brother. Are these the ones you mentioned before? If we get them back to the lair I can scan them for any anomalies or potential side effects of that portal.” Then it seemed like the two turtles got into a staring contest for what had to be at least a minute. The Blue Turtle apparently lost and huffed and rolled their eyes.

“Shadow, Sonic, This is my twin Donnie. He uses He/they pronouns,” Blue pauses and blinks. “Oh I forgot to introduce myself didn’t I? Well my name is Leo and He/him pronouns. There’s been a change of plans, so you hopefully know that this is not your universe. Because of that we think it's going to be safer if you come with us. Obviously you do not have to but we kinda need to check if your existence here is going to break our universe.” Leo then says in a lower tone that Shadow was definitely not supposed to hear. “I don’t want to be responsible for that again.”

Shadow thought about their options and decided that for the safety of themself and Sonic that he would go along for now. “We will come with you, with the exception that we can leave whenever we want and with no questions asked. Also we cannot be separated without reason.” Donnie and Leo glanced at each other for a second and Donnie nodded. He then motioned for Shadow and Sonic to follow them. Leo paused before following and waved his sword around underneath and… created a glowing blue portal. Shadow tried to not let their surprise show too much. Sonic on the other hand, didn’t.

“IS THAT A PORTAL!?!”

Sonic’s mouth was agape, and Shadow had the urge to use one of their fingers to close it. Wow he really was adorable when he was like that- Wait what. Ignoring those thoughts that kept popping up he picked up Sonic so his head was facing behind Shadow and his legs in front and started following Donnie.

As they were walking another blue portal appeared and Leo stepped out of it. “Sorry about that. Just needed to make sure they would be in prison. Also Donnie can you mark the new guy, they escaped and Hypno and Warren said they hadn’t really worked with them long enough to figure where they would go. They also invited us to their wedding. Are we free on the 5th?”

Donnie made a hmph noise. “I think so, the only thing we have coming up is the Created In Darknesses show on the 15th but that's later so we should be good.” Shadow had become so caught up in this conversation that he hadn’t noticed that they were being led into the sewers. They were already in a new dimension so he didn’t really think he needed to bring it up at this point. If they were in their home dimension then he would probably question it but the twins were easy to read and they didn't seem to care about the fact that they could use them for information.

“Oh by the way Nardo, your rabbit boyfriend is here. Please don’t be mushy. I will take these two to the medbay and you two can be (gag) romantic together.” Did he say gag out loud? This was going to be an interesting group, wasn’t it.

Ignoring Donnie’s pointed sibling comment he nodded and ran towards the skate ramp, sliding in a way he hoped was actually really cool but probably not. Luckily both him and Usagi were both idiots and hopefully the beautiful rabbit wouldn’t care. He was about to fly across the empty air and cut a portal down but a hand gripped him.

“Leo… no portalling in the lair. We’ve talked about this,” It was Raph. Go figure. “I don’t care how excited you are to see Usagi, but no portaling. Also Pops said that you’d be out for another couple to him so he's not here anymore.” 

Leo was AGHAST at the revelation that his older brother had revealed and was completely ready to commit patricide.

Shut up Tello, Leo knew stuff too!

Anyway Leo groaned and made a huge show of acting upset and disappointed, which he really was but he was also intrigued about the two new hedgehogs currently in his medbay. He told Raph to tell Mikey, April, and CJ to meet him in the medbay in thirty minutes and cut a portal with one of his katanas ignoring Raph’s protests.

As he popped in Sonic stared at him with wide open eyes and looked like he still was struggling with whatever happened earlier, he also was clinging to Shadows arm like a koala. Leo shrugged and looked up to where Shadow and Donnie were arguing, with S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N. hanging behind Donnie.

“I’m not going to let you touch him! That’ll make it worse, he can’t be touched by people he doesn’t know and especially not by medical equipment!” A tear streamed down their face and both Shadow and Sonic were trembling with Sonic’s eyes squeezed so tight that Leo himself, a medic, didn’t know how it was possible.

Donnie sighed and turned to Leo, and in a mindmeld. They’ve been adamant about not letting me touch him and I (sigh) don’t know what to do. Leo shrugged. 

Maybe let me give it a go? No offense but you don’t really have… any bedside manners.

Why not, give it a go.

Leo walked towards the two. “Hey guys, if Sonic can’t be touched right now that's fine. I can get my dear amazing twin here,” Wow Dee had a glare saved up for him! “To use their fucking awesome tech to scan the both of you so I can check if you have anything I need to treat.” Donnies glare dissipated and Shadow’s expression dropped back to their (What Leo was starting to think was their) normal base glare and he visibly calmed down.

“Fine. I’ll let you take Faker but I have to be in the room and you need to explain everything honestly,” Leo was going to do that anyway. “I will know if you don’t. I just don’t want it to happen again.” He clenched their fists and jaw and Sonic laid his head on their shoulder. Oddly enough both their faces heated up, if only for a quick second.

Luckily while they were distracted S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N./Leo’s nephew scanned them and flew over to him.

“I sent the results to your phone! They should be in the Doctor chat!” He chirped while Leo congratulated him with a pat on the head. He then opened the chat looking it over quickly, nothing at first glance but he’s going to have to recheck later. Then he got dragged over to his 2,018 messages in the Hamato group chat.

Shadow liked Sonic on their arm. He was very soft and it made it hard to focus when something so warm and fuzzy was on their shoulder. Leo had said something but he couldn’t hear him over Sonic’s clicking noises. At least he felt safe enough to make any noise, most Mobians only really made noises when they were using their old brain the most or they were making examples of noises. Shadow personally found that he didn’t use many of the hedgehog noises that others used and therefore didn’t know what they meant but what he did know was that Sonic did tend to do this clicking noise when he felt safe or wanted Shadow to feel safe.

Anyway, Leo’s expression had jumped to a smile so Shadow squeezed Sonic’s hand in a way that hopefully meant “While I loved this, we need to move on '' Sonic squeezed back and kept their hands connected. This sparked something in Shadow that felt sort of like a sparkler. 

Leo cleared his throat. “So, your tests came back,” Already? That was quick. “And you're pretty much good! I mean Sonic had slightly higher than normal heartbeat but you both know that? Anywhoozle my beautiful bunny boyfriend is coming so any questions you have give it to my twin over here, bye!” Before anyone could have predicted it, Sonic's hand had left Shadow’s (Which he mourned the loss of) and he had run over to Leo.

“So I know you said we were fine but does that mean I can come with you? ‘Cause while I love spending time with Shads I do want to meet more new people. Your world is really cool, why are you all so tall? I’m 3” and so is Shads and we’re normal height. Also don’t worry Shadow, I’ll be carefull!” Shadow nodded. This was normal Sonic behavior, he had been worried about him before. While to most people he was normal Shadow knew that seeing his friends and them all betray him couldn’t be good. At least now he was okay enough to fake it.

And anyway, Shadow had many questions that couldn’t be asked of, or around, Sonic.

When Sonic and Leo left he turned to Donnie. “Hello. Do you know anything about emotions?”

Donnie visibly winced. “Wince. I am not the turtle you want for that, you would want my brother Angelo. I can call him now.”

Donnie opened a purple phone (fitting) and typed something in. Suddenly there was a loud shout of “FUCK YEAH!” and then a different voice of “MIKEY! NO SWEARING!”

Then some golden chains attached themself to the ground and a golden-green blur swung into the room.

“Hello everyone! The great Dr. Feelings is here!”

Shadow was flabbergasted. “Ho-How did you do that thing with your mouth? How is that possible?”

“Not important. Donnie told me that you need feelings help? I can help! So, what do you want to talk about?”

Shadow swallowed nervously. “So, I’ve been having these weird feelings around Sonic, and keep thinking stuff like, ‘Wow he’s so pretty’ and things like that. What does that mean? Am I cursed? Why doesn’t this make sense?”

Dr. Feelings held up a hand and spoke in a soothing tone. “I think you might have at least a tiny crush on Sonic. I haven’t actually met him so I can’t tell you anything else. But at least you know now?”

Shadow nodded. “Thank you Dr. Angelo Feelings for your help.”

He looked confused. “Donnie, did you introduce me by my nickname?” Donnie looked up from where he was sitting and typing something up on a computer. “Oops. Sorry Shadow, that is Mikey.”

Sonic waved goodbye to Shadow and started (slowly- he didn’t want to scare him) walking after Leo.

“So, where are we going? Cause we have about three-ish hours till ol’ Shads starts to get worried!” In actuality Sonic was the one to worry for no reason, but the turtle didn’t need to know that. 

“Oh we’re actually going to the Hidden City, it’s underneath New York,” 

“Wow, that sounded a lot like New Yolk… Except the whole Egghead being in charge and turning it into a capitalist’s daydream!” Leo snorted and replied that “You might be wrong about the last part, anyway I’m going to have to get some disguises ‘cause last time I went I got unjustly arrested and Usagi just likes disguises. We are also going to need to give you some clothes, how comfortable are you with dresses?”

Sonic lit up. “ Okay FIRST! Fuck the police I’ve never liked them, they’ve arrested me to many times for me to be fine with them. SECOND! I love dresses! What are we thinking for the outfits? ‘Cause while I may not wear clothes I love disguises!”

Leo, Usagi, and Sonic were walking down a street that looked like they were preparing a festival or perhaps a parade. Well Leo and Usagi were walking, Sonic was running around looking at stuff like he's never been outside before. Leo and Usagi were dressed like a young highschool couple and Sonic was perhaps a younger sibling or cousin. 

Leo had on a white shirt with a blue and white flannel and jeans, Usagi had on a black undershirt with a blue graphic t-shirt that had bugs bunny on it and gray sweatpants. Sonic had on a ginormous red sweater that had black lines running down the arms and on the quills, he also had a black circle skirt with red hearts on the bottom line and his new rollerblades and gloves, which went with the outfit quite well. In addition to the outfit Sonic also decided to get a black backpack so he can store stuff that he finds cool. Leo hadn’t gotten one because he had wanted to carry stuff to look impressive for Usagi, Sonic had thought this was stupid but then remembered he would absolutely do the same thing in front of Shadow in a heartbeat.

ANYWAY! Before Sonic had to think any more about his crush who probably didn’t like him anyways he skedaddled backwards to the boyfriends. “Wait what are we even here for? ‘Cause I don’t feel like it was a good idea to invite someone on a double date without his crush…”

Leo squinted at Sonic. “You weren’t even invited! You literally just ran up and left with me! But to be honest we were looking for someone who Usagi needed to talk to and all of his friends are on a trip back to Japan and asked me instead” Usagi butted in. “We should be seeing their house just about… now.”

Sonic wasn’t sure if it was justifiable to call it a house, it just felt like such an ordinary word.

It was a white house with red roofs and a humongous maze in the back, the driveway was one of the ones that took up the entire front yard and had sides on the ends for more it had FIVE pools, and three much smaller houses scattered around. It also had what looked like a landing strip for an airplane and a temple with something glowing in it. And to top it all off there was a gate with what must be thousands of small gems inlaid in the metal.

To put it simply: Sonic was flabbergasted and the amount of wasted money here.

Usagi buzzed them in and the gates opened, when they walked up Sonic felt like there were a million cameras from all directions pointed at them. He assumed it was just his anxiety, since the Infinite Issue he had developed the feeling a lot from his every move being watched. He shrugged it off and pointed his attention at the door and audibly gasped when he saw who opened it.

Why were Tangle and Whisper here? And was that Surge eating an entire peach with their bare hands?

 Sonic was flabbergasted, to say the least. Whisper and Tangle, in this universe? They hadn’t been in all the other versions… Why this one?

He quietly shook his head. They probably just weren’t around, it was a whole planet after all and the couple was bound to show up eventually. He then glanced inside and was even more confused at the sight of Surge eating an entire whole peach like their life depended on it?

Anyways, Usagi and this version of Whisper bowed to each other when Usagi began to speak.

“Sonic and Leo, meet Lily,” Whisper- er well Lily waved. “And Knot. I also think that Light is in the back over there… and she is shoving a peach inside their mouth. Alright then.” Light then scampered away with said peach in mouth.

“You say that as if you didn’t eat rocks as a child, Usagi.” A voice rang from above, it was one that Sonic recognised extremely well.

It was a part of shattered Amy.

Jumping from the highest balcony Sonic could see on the house of course.

As she dropped down the pink twelve year old stuck out her hand and announced, “Hi my name is Rosalina, She/her, you also can call me Rosy! I have fortune telling business down the road.” She then pointed to Knot and Lily. “That's Lily, She/her, and her girlfriend Knot, He/him. Disrespect them both and you’ll become dust underneath my hammer!”

Sonic swallowed. “I mean I wasn’t planning too, I’m also queer.”

Knot visibly brightened and started jumping, somehow still holding onto Lily. “Really? Most Yōkai don’t talk about it as much because of “Tradition” or whatever. But ever since Emerald started stealing stuff she kept bringing back things from New York City and we figured out the words and pronouns for ourselves!” Sonic wasn’t sure how someone smiled that much.

“Yeah I’m Bi and it’s always nice to meet other lgbtq people!” Sonic offered a smile at this.

“Wait, you're bisexual? Yes! My OTP can finally be accomplished!” Leo announced while jumping excitedly.

Sonic did a 180 and stared at him. “What. Are you talking about.” He was worried that his probably unfruitful crush had been found out and he would have to do something about it.

Leo shrugged and grinned like a Cheshire Cat. “Oh you know, Shadow … I just think you would make a great couple! Nothing much.”

Usagi leaned into Leo and stage-whispered “Is that the other hedgehog that's edgy and emo?”

If Sonic was blushing before (Which he totally wasn’t!) He was now a shade of red that was rivaling Knuckles. He sputtered and finally found words. “He's not emo or edgy! He’s really cool and hot! Their style is kinda 2000s but it’s really pretty okay!” He ran out of breath so huffed for a little bit, still with a very red face. No one spoke and they were only interrupted by Lily getting a phone call.

“Hello Jade, Light ran off somewhere. No I don’t know where, she’s your girlfriend. Maybe she went to go see Storm, they haven’t hung out as siblings for a little bit. Okay bye.” Lily then hung up the phone and turned to Rosalina.

“Can you find Red, I remembered I needed to ask to use his area for taking care of me and Knot’s Floaties, Blue Cube had shown some discomfort with their current home and so were redoing it.”

Amy nodded and said she would go tell Red. She glanced back at Sonic with worry but soon left. They had then been shuffled into the mansion and brought to a room where they sat down. Someone who looked like Big and Froggy, but was actually Fig and Lettuce, brought them some lavender tea. Lavender happened to be Shadow’s favorite color and flower so Sonic had bought a lot of it in tea form and others so it helped calm him down.

Something that he needed when the person they talked to was Landolin (Bell), Rouge (Emerald), and Knuckles (Red). Thankfully he knew better than to see whether or not they would know him so they left soon after.

As they were walking back, Sonic had two thoughts on his mind. One, he was going to need to talk to Shadow, if Leo shipped them then maybe there was a chance? Two, what did Usagi need to know? Because Sonic was pretty deep inside his thoughts and didn’t pay attention. Ah It probably wasn’t important anyway.

It had been several hours since Sonic and the others had left and Shadow was bored out of their mind. He had already talked over some important information with Donnie and they decided that until they found the shard for this world he and Sonic would stay here. Even if Sonic could leave without a shard, Shadow shouldn’t even be in this world so they had no idea if he could do the same.

It was horrifying to think that it had been over three weeks since he’d seen their Rouge and Omega.

Either way he was going to have to do something to occupy their mind as he still had a while till Sonic was coming back to the lair. He skated out of the lab where he and Donnie had been talking and immediately was stopped by a college-age African American human. They had a yellow dress and green sweatshirt with leggings and yellow boots. They also had red glasses on their head and their hair put up into a ponytail. They looked shocked for a second then shook their head and shouted for someone.

“Hey Caseys! The turtles weren’t lying when they said they were keeping some mutants in the lair!”

A head popped around the corner of the wall. They were also human but had a shaved head and honestly amazing eyeliner.

“Wait for real? Huh I owe Junior like twenty bucks… fuck.” Said the human who was assumedly the mentioned Casey

The first human rolled their eyes and looked over to Shadow who stood mostly confused.

“Oh we didn't introduce ourselves! Sorry about that! So I’m April O’Neil She/her, and that’s Cassandra, although if we get to know each other she will probably ask you to call her Casey, with She/her pronouns.” April added a smile at the end which helped calm Shadow’s nerves.

Oh wait, now he was supposed to return the greeting. Fuck.

“Hello, I am Shadow the Hedgehog and I am the Ultimate Lifeform™, my pronouns are He/They.” He hoped he sounded confident.

April stuck out her hand and Shadow confusingly shook it. “Cool! Anyway you might see another human around that sorta looks like Casey over here then that is Casey Jr. aka Junior who uses He/him. He’s from the future and just an absolute cinnamon roll, so don’t be scared of him!”

Shadow had a realization . “Oh we have one of those. His name is Silver.”

April looked like she got hit by a large truck, like Sonic often did. “Huh. Wild that the multiverse is like that.”

As Shadow made a grunt of affirmation and the two girls walked away. As soon as they did this a blue blur spindashed into him and they both fell onto the floor. Shadow accidentally pulled him down with them by a hug, squashing them both.

Sonic squealed. “Shadow! You're still here! We went to the Hidden City and did you know that it's an underground city ? Anyway I got some clothes for myself but I also picked out some clothes and other thingies for you!”

Shadow smiled. While it was concerning that Sonic thought he was going to leave it was understandable it was reasonable with their less-than-preferable social skills and the whole shattered thing. Either way it was nice to see Sonic, even if they were only separated for a short while.

He also knew that they both were exhausted. It was about seven at night, which wasn’t when they normally went to sleep but they also had been dealing with this none-stop for three weeks so it also was acceptable.

He took Sonic’s hand and lifted them both off the ground and leaned in. “I would love to see my presents, but I know we're both tired. Would you like to go to sleep? Donnie knows that we probably were going to do this and showed me where the room is.”

Oddly enough Sonic shivered and had a strong blush. Maybe he had been out too long in the cold?

Anyways Sonic nodded and smiled shyly. They walked to the room, still holding hands, Shadow opened the door and noticed something.

There was only one bed.

Sonic gulped and looked forlorn. “Hey maybe I could sleep on the floor? Or on one side?”

Shadow huffed and rolled his eyes. “There’s no need for that. As long as you don’t steal blankets we’ll be perfectly fine.” 

Sonic somehow got an even stronger blush, but nodded. So he climbed into bed and set up the blanket, taking off his air shoes. Sonic took off his rollerblades and joined them.

While at the beginning of the night was very awkward, they ended up cuddling with Donnie taking photos. All was well in the world.

Well until two were taken.

The next day Shadow awoke groggily. He opened their eyes and was in a bright and cheery room. There were some skateboards and spray paint thrown haphazardly across the room and some fairy lights strung up on the ceiling. He seemed to be on a bunch of soft and fluffy blankets piled on top of a circular mattress. 

Now all this meant that he very much was not in Team Dark’s apartment or The Void. He also didn’t go over to other’s houses very much but no one he knew would have a room like this… Oh right! He was at the Turtle’s house.

Their face went from a sleepily confused face to a sleepily smile at this realization. He now knew he was safe and that the blue loveable goofball would be right next to them. He turned their face to the side to hopefully be presented with their person of adoration, and if he was really lucky, his beautiful emerald eyes.

But when he opened their eyes fully there was nothing except some ruffled blankets and a couple of quills.

Shadow’s eyes widened and he was up . Panic mode had set in and he was in a whirlwind. Sonic was the last one in their world, never mind their crush . He slammed the door open and sprinted around the Lair looking for him.

He couldn’t find the words to express how much fear and panic so he just didn’t . Instead their fear was shown through ears being pinned back, pupils tinier than a pinprick, quills flared up, and their hands clenching and unclenching.

He screeched to a stop, a green hand being held out in front of them. 

“WOAH Shadow! Watch where you're going! Is everything alright?” Mikey looked worried, and Shadow wasn’t surprised. He was hyperventilating along with their fear signs. He still was recovering and doing breathing exercises so he just nodded.

Mikey frowned. “Okay, how about I get you a hot cocoa and you sit down and sip it until you're well enough to talk. After that we can immediately deal with whatever it is, I can even get the others down here so we can arrange stuff even faster. Is that okay with you?”

Shadow nodded and sat down at the stool and held the mug he was given. He continued breathing routinely and used that to cool down the cocoa. Mikey continued stirring a pot of something and pressed a button that then made his phone buzz with an orange alert that said “Kitchen”.

About seven minutes later most of the turtles had come into the kitchen and nodded at Shadow before sitting down. Once they were all here, including Cassandra, April, Junior, and a short rat Shadow did one last breath in and out and spoke.

“Sonic and I went to sleep in the guest bedroom last night,” Leo made an ooooh noise to this. “And when I awoke this morning he wasn’t there and… I can’t lose him too.”

Then Shadow whispered to themself, “ Not like Maria… or Rouge .”

He swallowed and the Turtles and others looked at each other nervously. Leo sighed and looked over to Shadow, more serious than before.

“Well, there might be one person who might have done it. But I’m going to need to get Dad and Usagi.” Leo hung his head and walked over to a tablet connected to the wall. There were a couple of taps and then… a ring of a phone. It was answered by a very distressed looking rabbit who looked relieved to see Leo.

“Leo! Usagi’s gone! He wasn’t in his bed this morning and I know you saw him last. Do you know where…?” They trailed off seeing Leo’s eyes widen and him slowly shaking his head. “Okay… Well, can you find my boy?”

Leo’s gaze solidified and he nodded. “I’ll do whatever it takes.” He then ended the call and turned around.

Shadow was worried. “Do you know who it is?”

Leo looked furious, his eyes looked more similar to fire than Shadow's stripes. “Big Mama will die.”

Sonic and Usagi got kidnapped by Big Mama (as you know) and get like sort of brainwashed kinda? I’m relying on memory so bear with me. Either way Sonic gets these like crystals formed into him and him and Shadow fight bla bla bla, they kiss yada yada ya and it turns out this version of Infinite and Big Mama were joining forces to create like cooler or more dangerous fighters for her and they chose them as test subjects because Infinite still had his memory for some reasons…? This was like forever ago sorry but I just wanted to add this because of the cliffhanger and I felt bad.
