Chapter Text
Three weeks had passed since Jack had arrived at the bunker. He’d been amazed when Dean had shown them the entrance hidden under a small hill. Jack had enjoyed exploring the place and being introduced to all the other kids that lived there. He shared a room with three other boys around his age and loved every second of it.
It had taken him a few days to sleep through the night. Used to the constant need to keep an eye open at all times. It was nice to be safe again.
He’d met so many people in the bunker, but he liked Sam the best. He was Dean’s brother and knew a lot about the big old radio in the ‘War Room’. Jack had been talking to him a lot and loved the idea of communicating with other groups.
“We just need to get the radio tower a few miles east of here working again.” Sam had explained when Jack had asked how they would get the radio to work. “We’ve been planning it for months.”
He also liked Jody and Donna, they reminded him a lot of his mom and would take advantage of any moment to teach him something new. The little school they had going on for all the kids was like a dream come true. And yes, he’d started learning Enochian already. They were actually the reason why he was looking for Castiel. They were going to have a small lesson on knife handling and had told him he could join if Castiel agreed.
He ran up to the highest level of the bunker looking for Castiel. He’d been spending a lot of time in the underground garden Dean had shown them when they'd first arrived. So Jack was almost sure he’d find Castiel there.
“Cas!” he shouted at his father figure from outside the garden. “Cas!”
Castiel was kneeling in front of the overgrown planters, harvesting carrots. “Hello, Jack.”
“Hello!” Jack threw himself on Castiel's arms and hugged him with all his strength.
“Everything alright?” Castiel asked. Jack jumped back and started jumping in place.
“Jody and Donna are planning a knife throwing lesson! Can I go? They said I need a parent or guardian's permission to join.” Castiel sighed but smiled kindly.
“You have my permission.”
Jack grinned up at Castiel and instantly turned to run out of the room. “Thanks Cas!”
Dean was walking up the stairs when Jack ran down, almost crashing onto him. He was only saved by Dean’s quick reflexes.
“Where’s the fire, kid?”
“Can’t talk right now! Gotta go!” Jack ignored Dean’s question, giggled and sprinted away from him. Running felt nice when he did it because he wanted to.
The end.
