Chapter Text

A kingdom of snow and ice was seen in the distance. Suddenly, magma drops upon the ice. A floating castle constructed of rock and lava with a monstrous figurehead in front flies toward the ice kingdom. It drops anchor and lands, opening its gates to release an army of turtle-like Koopas. A blue-robed Koopa magician, Kamek, appeared from thin air and announced;

"Behold! The Queen of the Koopas!"

Kamek striked his wand upon the ground, signaling the Koopa army to turn in attention as their beautiful and great leader, Bowsette, emerged from her ship. Bowsette so walked toward the ice castle, smiled evilly and she screamed;

"Open the gates! ...Or die."

Large shadows loomed within the ice palace, making one of the Koopas tremble in fear. The gates opened to reveal an army of much smaller but still determined penguins, much to the chagrin of the once scared Koopa, whose king directed them. - "Attack!"

With that, the penguins charged forward and began pelting Bowsette and the Koopas with snowballs and ice chunks, to little effect. After some time, the Penguin King signals them to holded their attack and heads towards the queen of the Koopas. - "That is but a taste of our fury. Do you yield?"

Bowsette in turn just chuclked and then responded. - "I do not."

After her looking at Kamek, he magically lifts up the penguins and tosses them aside. Bowsette walked until she arrived in front of the ice castle, and uses her fire breath to destroy the ice castle.

Everyone watched the castle collapse and raise dust. - "No..." - Penguin King muttered, after the castle was destroyed. Bowsette looked up and smiled as she saw a bright light within the castle ruins. Kamek instantly levitated ice blocks for the Queen of Koopas to walk up towards the light, like a stair.

She stood in front of a shining Question Block, and admired it briefly, while the Penguins futilely tried to break away from the Koopa soldiers. She raised one of her fists, and hit the block hard, destroying it and revealing a Super Star.

"I've finally found it." - Bowsette declared, after laughing. - "And now NO ONE CAN STOP ME!!!"

After being sucked down a pipe, being separated from his younger brother and falling into a mysterious world of mushrooms (what a cruel fate...) and being approached by Toad, Mario began to explain his situation;

"Yeah, I'm actually looking for somebody — my brother, in fact. He looks exactly like me, but tall, and skinny, and green. See, last time I saw him, he was falling through a pipe. It was foggy and I believe there was lava... "

Toad gasped and replied to Mario. - "Uh, that... is not good. Umm... Your brother has landed in the Dark Lands. They're under Bowsette's control."

"Bowsette?" - Mario questioned, confused. - "She's the most evil, wretched creature alive." - Toad described such a monster, in a very sinister way.

So Toad sticked his walking stick into a mushroom and pulled himself and Mario up. - "I'm taking you to see the princess. She can help. She can do anything!" - "Princess?"

In the distance, Mario see a magnificent white and red castle surrounded by a large town.

"Come on, Mario! Our big adventure begins now!" - Toad hummed as he bounced through the mushrooms.

"Hang on, Luigi." - With that said, Mario and Toad jumped across mushrooms toward the castle.

A FEW MOMENTS LATER...

In a large room, a council of Toads was gathered around a hologram that opened from the ground. The hologram showed a world map, displaying all the islands, including Bowsette's ship

"Council, your attention. Bowsette has found the Super Star and is headed toward our kingdom. Its power will make her invincible. We will be destroyed." - declared Toad General, making all the toads gasp, while a green toad fainted.

"Princess! What are we gonna do?" - asked a Yellow Council Toad, to their highness, Princess Peach.

"I will not let her hurt you." - she got off the throne and walked down the stairs, while declaring. - "We are going to stop Bowsette."

"How?! Look at us. We're adorable!" - Yellow Council Toad commented, making a puppy dog face, followed by other Toads.

Peach began to explain his plan. - "I'm going to convince the great Kong army to help us. Together, we'll annihilate that monster!"

"Their mad king doesn't make alliances! The Kongs will never agree!" - Toad General asked, knowing the reputation the Kongs had.

"I can convince him. I'll leave for the Jungle Kingdom in the morning." - With that said, Princess Peach left the room, with Toad General declaring close behind. - "Good luck, princess. For all our sakes." - Princess Peach walked through the halls, thinking to herself, until she hears foot steps.

She spotted someone running towards her, apparently being followed by Toads. Before he could touch her, Peach suddenly flipped onto his back, feeling threatened and allowing the Toad Guards to throw themselves at him and attack him.

But after realizing that he was a human, the princess found herself excited and curious about him. As soon as she asked where he came from, the human quickly fixed his hat and explained;

"Me and my little brother, Luigi... we fell down this pipe, and now he's lost... somewhere in the Dark Lands!"

With that, Peach realized that his brother was in serious trouble. - "Then it's only a matter of time before he's captured by Bowsette. But you're in luck — I'm on my way to stop her."

"Well, take me with you!" - Mario demanded, making Peach look in disbelief. - "This woman's a lunatic. A psycho. She will eat you for breakfast. She won't even notice it probably because you're very, very small."

"You know what? Make fun of me all you want. But you are gonna help me find my brother!" - Mario spoke in an arrogant tone, earning a stern look from the princess. - " ...Please?"

"Okay. Let's see what you're made of." - she declared, turning and leaving, with Mario following her close behind. - "Is that a "yes"?"

"No. That's a "Let's see what you're made of"." - Peach corrected, as she waited to see how determined that human was.

THE NEXT DAY...

At Bowsette's castle, that crossed in a storm of rain and lightning, various minions were celebrating and a Koopa rock band was performing. Bowsette watched the show sitting on her throne, smiling satisfactorily, with Kamek by her side. The star was above her.

Then she stood up and began to address everyone present there. - "My army! Koopas! Goombas! Whatever those things are!" - the Spinys found themselves dejected by others always forgetting who they are.

"After years of searching for the Super Star, it is finally ours!" - She declared, her tone stoic and mischievous. With every sentence of her speech, her army screamed "YEAH!".

"I am now the most powerful queen in the world!""

"YEAH!!"

"Soon, we will arrive at the Mushroom Kingdom...!"

"YEAH!!!"

"Where after years of being sworn enemies... I'm going to overthrow the kingdom that imposter princess!!""

"YEah... " - As soon as they heard this, the troops paused in place and found themselves confused. Even the rock band had stopped playing. One Koopa Troopa weakly pumped his arm, not wanting to appear rude. - "Yeah... "

"Did she say 'imposter... princess'?" - one of the Koopas Troopas asked the other, confused. - "Why did you call her that?" - asked someone distant in the background.

Bowsette's expression changed to dark, as she sighed and began to ramble. - "Isn't it obvious to you, my army? All my life, I've been compared to her a lot. Everyone said that she and I are similar in appearance. There's no way a princess like her can compare to me. I am far superior to her, in terms of power, beauty and kingdom."

After that, she looked at the star and began to smile proudly. - "So when she sees this Star... Oh ho ho ho. She will regret this very much!"

Everyone there began to feel sorry for their queen, until one of the curious Koopas with spear reached out and asked. - "A question? Do you two really look that much alike?"

In response, the Koopa Koopa was engulfed in Bowsette's flames and turned into a Dry Bones. Everyone just stared at him in silence.

After taking a deep breath and calming down, Bowsette stood firm and changed the subject. - "It doesn't matter anymore, now! I finally have the chance to rule the world as planned! With this star, we will be able to destroy the Mushroom Kingdom!"

With this declared, the army began screaming again. - "YEAH!!!" - at that same moment, the rock band started playing again. - "So prepare yourselves for the best fight ever! IT'S GONNA ROCK!!" - she concluded, smiling satisfactorily.

MEANWHILE...

In the Dark Lands, after being chased by Dry Bones and hiding in a castle, Luigi had been captured by two Shy Guys and a Snifit. Although he was confused and scared, Luigi decided to cooperate with them. The three of them took him and pulled him into a balloon and left from there.

During the flight, Luigi saw the castle where he had hidden from the Dry Bones. That castle brought back a brief memory of his childhood, where he was playing at building a castle with blocks, when a bully appeared and started to intimidate him. And at that exact moment, Mario appeared and chased the bully away, making sure his brother was safe and well.

At that moment, Luigi just stared at where he was and sighed. He definitely hated being in danger every time. Wherever his brother was, he expected him to come and save him, as always.

Chapter Text

The next day after the celebration, Kamek received reports about a human having arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom, and who had allied with the princess. Quickly, he teleported to where Bowsette was playing the piano.

"Dame?"

Upon hearing him, Bowsette instantly stopped playing some music, and took a breath before asking, clearly upset at being interrupted. - "What?"

"The report from our intelligence. A mustachioed human has arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom." - Kamek began, only to be interrupted by an angry snort from Bowsette. She then turned to him, glaring angrily. He took a deep breath and continued. - "The princess has been training him. They are up to something, dame!"

The queen of koopas sat silently, until she patted the bench next to her. - "Sit. Jam with me." - once Kamek sits down, Bowsette starts playing the Underground Theme, while Kamek plays the coin sound effect.

Bowsette then began to question. - "This, uh, human. Where did he come from?" - "We... aren't sure?" - Kamek replied, a little nervous. - "How tall is he?" - "Hmm, he must be about 5’1 or something." - "Is he as strong as he looks?"

"I don't think so. Because he's really short." - Kamek assured, smiling nervously. - "So what's the point of this princess training a human who can't beat me? It won't stay like that!" - after growling in anger, Bowsette promptly slams the piano lid on Kamek's fingers, causing Kamek to scream in pain.

"Find out who he is, and WHAT THEY'RE PLANNING!!!" - Bowsette ordered, as her eyes glowed with fury and hatred. With that, she rose elegantly from the bench and stomped towards the stairs. Kamek, even though he was groaning in pain, nodded.

"I'm on it, dame. May I lift the cover?"

"Not yet. Pain is the best teacher." - she replied, disappearing from sight, leaving Kamek to suffer.

A FEW MOMENTS LATER...

After a long journey, the balloon finally arrived at its destination. Immediately, the Snifti swooped down and pulled Luigi along, while the other two from the group of Shy Guys followed. As they walked down the hallway, Luigi felt intimidated by large statues of a creature that appeared to have the appearance of a giant woman, but with large horns, a spiked hoof, and sharp teeth.

In one of the tugs, his hat covered his vision, so he didn't know where he was going. The last tug of the rope on his wrists sent him tumbling to the ground.

"We found him in the Dark Lands." - Snifit announced, as Luigi got up from the ground.

On her throne, Bowsette had watched him, with pure interest emerging in her face. The human, in turn, looked at her scared. - "Leave him to me." - Bowsette ordered, smiling, as she rose and descended slowly from the throne. 

As he saw her descending towards him, Luigi found himself panicking as he looked around and cowered in fear. As she got closer, he realized that she was the giant woman represented in those statues present in the room. Suddenly, Kamek teleported beside him, and with his wand, he undid the human's restraints, wrapped him in magic and forcibly took him to Bowsette.

As soon as he stopped in front of her, he saw how big and intimidating she was, although her human appearance also made her charming.

"What is your name, human?" - Bowsette questioned him as she spun him around.

"Uh... Luigi." - he replied, laughing awkwardly, while trying to maintain eye contact with her.

"Not sure if you know who I am, but I'm about to rule the world." - she replied, facing Luigi, who was uncomfortable and scared. Then she brought one of her hands to his chin, making him even more nervous. - "Wow, uh… Yay..."

"But there's one problem, Luigi:" - she pointed out, while fiddling with his hat. - "There's a human traveling with my faker. Has a mustache, just like you. Do you know him...?" - Bowsette pointed as she held his face and fiddled with the green plumber's mustache.

"No! No! And what do you mean by faker?" - Luigi looked very uncomfortable as he responded and asked.

Bowsette noticed he was hesitant to respond, so she decided to go with another tactic. - "Ah, tough one, I see. I didn't want to do this, but maybe THIS will get you to talk!" - with that, she pulled a strand of Luigi's mustache, making him gasp in fear.

"Do you think I know every human being with a mustache wearing an identical outfit with a hat with the letter of his first name on it?! Uh, because I don't."

With that disheartening response, Bowsette pulled his hair, making him shriek in pain. But instantly, she grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and tugged on his whole mustache.

"DO YOU KNOW HIM?!" - she shouted, losing her temper. After a few seconds of pain, Luigi gave in and responded.

"Gah! STOP! STOP! STOP, STOP, STOP! I know him! Yes, I know him! Yeah, he's my brother, Mario, and he's the best guy in the world!" - with that, he started crying.

Fortunately, with that answer, the tug on his mustache was eased, but Bowsette still had one more question. - "Do you think he is capable of defeating ME?!"

"I DON'T KNOW!! I DON'T KNOW HOW STRONG YOU ARE FOR HE TO BE ABLE TO DEFEAT YOU!! BUT KNOWING HIM, HE'LL WANT TO TAKE A RISK!!!" - he replied, still scared and crying.

Seeing the human crying before her made Bowsette feel bad for some reason. Then, she gently placed him on the ground, as she headed towards the guards present there. - "You guys, get him out of here, right now."

Instantly, the two Koopa guards did as asked and retreated with a confused and still scared Luigi. As soon as they were out of sight, Kamek addressed her. - "Dame, what are you going to do with him?" - in response, the queen of the Koopas just replied.

"I'm not sure yet. But make sure he's in a room or something. I'll think about what to do with him later." - then her uncertain expression changed to irritated. - "If this Mario thinks he's that tough to face me, then let him be ready to fall!"

Chapter Text

After walking through long hallways being escorted by two Koopa guards, Luigi was thrown into a room, while he heard the door closing from behind. As soon as he got up and came to his senses, he realized he was in a bedroom and not in a prison or something.

That left him confused. Shouldn't he have been thrown into a cell, cage or some kind of dungeon? Why leave him in a big and luxurious bedroom if he was a prisoner in that place

Out of nowhere, he heard a knock on the door, and before he knew it, a Koopa opened the door with a tray in his hands. - "Here's your food, human." - he placed the tray on the floor and then he left the room. Luigi blinked a few times in confusion, before looking back at the tray on the floor.

His stomach growled at the thought of eating. He remembered not having eaten anything at home when he and his brother arrived after a failed job. Shyly, he got up and walked over to the tray, fearing it was something dangerous or even disgusting.

To his surprise, when he lifted the lid, there was a normal, freshly prepared meal. He still thought about the possibility that he might be poisoned or bewitched, but he was too hungry to worry about that.

MEANWHILE...

After some time, Kamek appeared again to Bowsette, who was on her throne again. - "Dame, I can understand why not put him with the other prisoners, but why keep him in one of the guest bedrooms and take food for him?"

In response, Bowsette just sighed and replied. - "He's worth more alive than dead, right? Not to mention that he might know things that this "Mario" and my faker must be planning. With that, I'm keeping him close for now."

"Oooooh... I get it, now. It's a great plan, dame." - he exclaimed, in realization. Bowsette smiled and nodded in response, before turning serious. - "Now, make sure that our intelligence can discover more things about this Mario and that princess's plans."

Kamek nervously nodded, before disappearing. Finding herself alone, the queen of the Koopas began to let herself wander in her mind. Other than Peach, she had never seen another human in her life. Where did these two brothers come from? How strong and determined was this Mario to want to face her without hesitation? How important was his brother Luigi for him to want to go this far?

She would interrogate that human in a while, but first, she would eat something.

THE NEXT DAY...

After arriving in the Jungle Kingdom, Mario, Peach and Toad did not know that they would have difficulty convincing Cranky Kong to help them face Bowsette with his army. Thanks to Mario's recklessness, they had a chance. However, in exchange for participating in a duel with Donkey Kong.

Despite the difficulties, Mario managed to beat him and they were about to form a plan, although he was in trouble with DK now. Inside a hit, Cranky Kong had a world map displayed on the wall as he and Princess Peach discussed a plan.

"We've located Bowsette's ship. She's gonna arrive at the Mushroom Kingdom by sundown! Luckily for you guys, I've got a shortcut!" - explained Cranky, while pointing to the world map.

"We beat her there and ambush her!" - Peach deduced as she waved her arms. - Cranky Kong just stared at her, while scratching his face. - "Yeah, I know. That's why, we're gonna need karts!"

Chapter Text

Back at Bowsette Castle, Luigi was lying the bed, not knowing what to do or how to escape. After finishing eating and the same guard returning and leaving, he tried to leave through the door, but apparently it was locked from the outside. And the bedroom didn't even have a window there to try to escape.

He sighed once more, until the door opened abruptly, making him jump under the bed. - "The queen requested her presence, human." - said one of the two Koopa guards, in a serious and direct tone.

Scared and confused, he just sat on the bed and watched them for a few moments. The mention of Bowsette gave him goosebumps, even more so after the tug on his mustache she gave him last time. Not wanting to upset her again, the poor green plumber just sighed and got up from the bed.

He walked towards the two guards and followed them down the halls to another door. As soon as he entered, the guards closed it from behind, catching him by surprise again.

As he looked around the room, he noticed that the room was lit with flames on iron structures. In the center of the room, there were two seats larger and smaller, which he deduced was for the queen of those beings from this strange world. As soon as he deduced this, he heard another voice.

"You're finally here, Luigi. Would you like to sit down?"

As he approached, he came across Bowsette again, sitting in the said larger seat. She had just watched him for a few moments, before gesturing for him to sit on the smaller seat in front of her. Afraid of angering her again, Luigi quickly turned around and sat down on the seat, while watching her back with nervousness in his gaze.

A tense silence surrounded the entire room, until Bowsette broke the silence. - "So, do you finally want to tell me more about your brother Mario?" - as he watched her pour a drink from a bottle into a glass, the green plumber found himself nervous as he thought about what to say.

"W-well, how can I say, he's a very nice guy, brave, determined, but very reckless too. He doesn't think twice when it comes to protecting me. But why do you want to know so much about him?"

After taking a sip from her cup, the queen of the Koopas snorted and replied; - "Well, as I said before, he is training with my rival. She thinks that a small and weak human like him might be able to face me. I hope you don't take offense to that."

Luigi was tempted to say something for his brother, but the fact that he was still very afraid of her stopped him from doing so. But he also noticed that whenever Bowsette talked about this princess, she referred to her as her rival or her faker. What kind of grudge do the two of them have with each other?

"Eh,... it's bad to ask me, but... what do you have against this princess? If you don't mind answering me... " - he asked, slowly and calmly. He was afraid that this question would anger her and attack him.

Although it looked like she was going to explode in anger, Bowsette took a deep breath and looked to the side, while responding with disdain. - "Hunf, I don't see why I should tell you. It's not like you would understand my reasons and everything."

Feeling uncomfortable with that situation, Luigi decided to change the subject a little. - "So... can you tell me how you're different from the others in this place? Like, you seem different from the other beings I've seen here."

That question surprised the queen of Koopas, as no one else had asked about her or her past. Although it wasn't part of her plan, she thought that venting a little might help the human become more comfortable revealing more details about his brother.

"Actually, I don't remember how I was born or how I ended up here. But I remember being found by some Koopas. Although, they said I was different from them, they took me in and took care of me like one of their own. And just the same At that time, the rulers adopted me as family, and in the end, they crowned me queen of the Dark Lands."

After vaguely recalling her memory, Bowsette sighed, before her smile faded and she continued. - "But during all these years, I began to notice that many people began to compare me with a princess, who they said we were very similar to. And when I found out who she was, I swore to myself that there would only be one of us in this world!"

Realizing she had said too much, Bowsette didn't know how to react and feared that the small human in front of her would begin to judge and put her down. But to her surprise, the human just watched her in shock and without knowing what to say.

Luigi looked away, as he thought carefully about what to answer. After closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, the green plumber looked back at her, and then commented. - "Wow, I never thought you felt that way. In fact, I understand what it's like to be compared to others. People often compared me a lot to my older brother, especially since we're practically twins."

Upon seeing the human's slightly depressed expression, Bowsette found herself surprised by this. Someone who understood how she felt, even though he was an insignificant being in front of her.

But before she could say anything else, out of nowhere a Koopa general with a blue, winged and spiked shell suddenly entered the room, taking the queen of Koopas by surprise.

"What?!" - Bowsette questioned, irritated and confused. After rising from his bow, General Koopa announced. - "We have found the princess and the mustachioed human. He has defeated Donkey Kong and won the Kong army."

At this news, Bowsette quickly stood up from her seat in shock. - "What do you mean, he beat the Kong army?!" - "Wait! M-my brother did what?!" - upon hearing the human's voice, she had to think very quickly. - "KAMEK!!"

He teleported there, upon hearing being called. - "Yes dame?" - "Take the human back to the bedroom, this instant!" - she ordered, smiling nervously. Even though he was confused, Kamek immediately pointed his wand at Luigi, making him disappear before saying anything.

With that, Bowsette's nervous expression was replaced with seriousness. - "Proceed, general." - after a nod, General Koopa continued. - "They are heading toward the secret passage, right now, your highness!"

Upon understanding Princess Peach's next move in an attempt to stop her, Bowsette smiled mischievously and muttered. - "Oh, they think they can surprise me, huh? Two can play at that game."

Chapter Text

As they headed towards where Rainbow Road met, Bowsette planned to make a surprise attack that involved karts and weapons. After some time, she arrived at they destiny. She walked with some soldiers by her side to a place on the ship, where she could see the princess, Mario and the Kong army.

With binoculars in hand, Bowsette got a wide view of the red-clad human. He was a little different from the green-clad human she had in her castle. He appeared to be shorter and a little chubby. But given Luigi's description and the intelligence report, she learned that she shouldn't underestimate that little human.

Believing the time was right, she saw her army entering the road and fighting the Kong army. Among them was the General Koopa, who had a huge bulldozer, specifically chasing his target: Mario.

Although Peach was also on the Rainbow Road with the others, Bowsette gave orders not to do anything to the princess, as she herself wanted to make sure that her faker was hopeless so that when they arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom, she could take her down without any resistance.

As she watched, Bowsette had to admit that the red plumber was good at fighting and strategy, but seemed to be a little reckless in the process. Which could be to her advantage, if she used the right weapons to take him down.

What happened next surprised her; apparently General Koopa had captured Mario, but that was not the case. And after jumping in DK's kart, the bulldozer was destroyed by one of the Rocket Barrels, but the general did not let himself be defeated. He took off his helmet and tucked up in his winged spiky Blue Shell, he flew towards the kart where the two were and hit them, knocking them off the Rainbow Road and destroying it in the process.

She saw the princess escape with a Toad, but the Kong army fell behind in the process. With that, another part of her army driving Koopa Clown Cars appeared and immediately captured them and took them to the dungeons of her ship.

With that, Bowsette began to laugh victoriously at seeing that her rival princess's plan had failed and that she was now alone. And she had also looked at the human who would have been another obstacle in her path and murmured in satisfaction. - "Goodbye, Mario."

Seeing that it would take a few hours to reach the Mushroom Kingdom, the Koopa queen returned to the ship while planning what to do.

Maybe she should eat a little, rest a little or else... she should see that human dressed again. The poor guy was alone now that her brother was gone. Maybe it would be better if he didn't know what happened and believed that his older brother would come and save him or something.

The green plumber would need a shoulder to cry on or some company as he should find himself scared now after his interrogation. That thought made her smile briefly. Everything was certainly going as planned.

For now, she would have a little distraction before she could begin the invasion.

Chapter Text

Luigi was pacing in circles in the bedroom, while in pure despair and confusion. He heard that his brother had defeated a certain Donkey Kong and his army and before he knew any more information, he was teleported back here.

Was his brother okay? Was he coming to save him? What happened to him?

Out of nowhere, the door opened and he screamed and fell to the floor, scared. Bowsette stood before him, with a brief smile. The thought of her being angry, wanting to interrogate him again or something else scared him.

She poked her head around the door and muttered. - "Would you have a moment to accompany me, Luigi?" - that request left him confused, but he decided to accompany her wherever she wanted.

The green plumber followed her through the corridors, until he reached a large place, with a huge table full of food. The queen of the Koopas guided him to one of the chairs and he sat down, as he watched her sit down on a larger chair next to him.

Luigi watched as Bowsette snapped her fingers and two of her servants immediately appeared and headed towards the table. After placing a few portions of food on two plates and placing it in front of the two people at the table, they immediately left.

Bowsette was the first to start eating from her plate, while the green plumber just watched, not knowing what to do. After receiving a look from her, he immediately picked up one of the cutlery and started eating from his plate.

Silence surrounded the room, apart from the sound of cutlery hitting plates.

Halfway through the meal, Bowsette started. - "So, Luigi... what do you... like to do?" - that question took him by surprise. He expected her to ask about his brother again, but now she wanted to know about him, which was strange.

"Well, I... like cooking, fixing, reading, cleaning, and a few other things." - he replied, awkwardly. - "What do you do or work on?" - she asked. - "My brother and I work in plumbing, it's our business, but my brother was the one who came up with the idea."

After another chew, she continued. - "Which of you two is older? I would assume it would be you, but your personality doesn't say so." - before answering, Luigi laughed lightly. - "No, the oldest of the two of us is Mario. Some people have already confused me as older and him as younger at first glance."

"I see. And where did you come from?" - "We come from a city called Brooklyn. We live in an apartment with our family." - "Brooklyn? Is this a kingdom or something?" - Bowsette asked, confused about this place. - "Actually, it's a city in a country. It's not from this world."

"Hmmm... interesting. Would you... be in a relationship with someone or something?" - she asked, catching him by surprise again. - "Eh,... no, exactly. I'm still not thinking about it at the moment. Why the question?" - he asked, uncomfortable.

"Oh, nothing personal. Just out of curiosity." - she replied, with a light laugh. Bowsette glanced at him briefly, with a look of satisfaction, before taking her last bite from her plate.

Seeing that they had already finished their plates, Bowsette snapped her fingers again, before asking the green plumber. - "Tell me, do you have a favorite dessert?" - "Hm... I'm not sure, but it could be anything you guys have." - he replied, shyly.

With that answer, the queen of the Koopas nodded, and the moment the servants came, two of them had brought a large two-tiered cake. After they placed the cake on the table and left again, Bowsette began cutting two slices of the cake. But before the two could eat, an annoying voice invaded the space.

"Dame!"

That seemed to irritate her a little, as she looked at the source of the voice, Kamek, who had entered the dining room. - "We are approaching our destination, the Mushroom Kingdom." - after the announcement, he noticed Luigi sitting next to Bowsette, about to eat the slice of cake in front of him.

"What is he doing here?!"

Quickly, Bowsette stood up from her chair and responded. - "I invited him to eat. Is there a problem?" - that answer took Magikoopa by surprise, as he faced his queen and replied back. - "No, dame. He's a prisoner here, right?"

Silence surrounded the room again. Uncomfortable with that atmosphere, Luigi got down from the chair and started trying to get out of there. - "Where do you think you're going, human?" - Kamek shouted, after catching him in the act. - "I'm... going back to the bedroom, because I don't want to cause any problems."

"Ah, don't worry about that. I'll take you there myself." - with that, Kamek involved him in his magic again and teleported him away. With that, he looked back at Bowsette, who was pouting, seemingly upset.

"So, dame? Ready to invade the Mushroom Kingdom?" - with this question, the queen of Koopas came to her senses and answered with a wide smile. - "Yes I am."

Meanwhile, Peach and Toad arrived back to the Mushroom Kingdom, crossing the water and running down the cliff until they reached the town. - "Bowsette's on her way! You have to evacuate!" - she ordered in desperation, sending the nearby Toads running in despair.

With that, they returned to running through the city, while spreading her warning. - "Hurry! Get out of the city!" - she drove through several paths until she reached the castle.
Inside, the other Toads were talking among themselves, until they heard something and the princess entered the throne room with the motorcycle.

Upon seeing her reaction, all the Toads present were worried about her. - "We lost the army, and Mario's gone." - she declared, in a sad tone. The other Toads were disturbed by that news.

"Bowsette is coming. Head into the forest. I'll buy you some time." - she declared, with determination. With that, Toad General ordered an evacuation, as he and the other Toads retreated from the room.

Peach asked Toad to go with the others, but he declared that he wouldn't let anyone hurt her. With that, they both left the throne room and headed to the place where the ship was approaching.

Seeing that she and her army was approaching the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowsette sighed deeply and smiled, as she prepared to face her rival princess and destroy her much-loved kingdom.

As soon as her floating castle arrived and landed in front of Peach's castle, Bowsette began to leave the castle, accompanied by her Koopa soldiers. After Peach and a Toad were surrounded by them, Bowsette began, as she approached the princess, who kept her expression firm. - "Princess Peach! Brave as ever."

As soon as he got close, Kamek teleported beside her, while Bowsette presented the item behind her. - "As you can see, I have the Super Star." - "If you're going to use it... " - Peach declared, as she pointed her halberd at Bowsette as the surrounding Koopas pointed theirs at her. - " ...Use it now!"

Bowsette stared at her briefly in surprise, but then she closed her eyes and began to laugh teasingly. - "Do you really think that..." - she commented, while moving the tip of the halberd away. - "... who can defeat me with that stick? Face it once, princess. You're alone, not even this little Toad will be able to protect you from me and my army!"

She took another step, making Peach even angrier. - "Now that you are at a disadvantage, I can take your kingdom easily. But it wouldn't be as exciting as I would like it to be. But that doesn't matter either."

Not letting herself be intimidated, the princess then asked. - "And where is he?" - that question took the queen of Koopas by surprise. - "He who?" - "You know! Mario's brother, Luigi! I know you captured him! After all, he stopped in your kingdom."

After blinking a bit, Bowsette just rolled her eyes and replied. - "Oooh, that human? Well, he's in there, with the others. But what does that matter? You won't be able to save him, just like Mario."

Bowsette saw Peach's gaze drop downward, as if she felt guilt. That made her quite satisfied. - "But who knows... I can offer you a deal?"

"An deal?" - Peach asked, confused and with a bad feeling emerging. - "Yes, however, you will have to make a choice; you can save the human in exchange for your kingdom, or else, you get your kingdom and I get the human. What will it be?"

The princess hesitated for a moment. She swore to protect the Mushroom Kingdom with her own life, but she also promised Mario that she would save her brother. What if it was a trap?

"What if I refuse? What will you do?!" - she questioned, raising her halberd again. Bowsette remained calm, and smiled sadistically. - "Well, then he will suffer the consequences!" - she answered. After hearing this, Kamek understood the command, and used his magic to constrict Toad, and cause him pain.

"No!" - Peach screamed, and tried to save Toad, only for her hand to be electrocuted. - "Stop! Please, stop!" - she begged, while looking at Toad and Bowsette, who just watched her and smiled coldly.

"I'll...I'll-I'll make that deal, just don't hurt my Toads!" - she declared, not having much of a choice. With that answer, the queen of the Koopas snapped her fingers, ordering Kamek to stop.

Toad fell to the ground, still grunting in pain, as Peach stood beside him, checking to see if he was all right. She glared at Bowsette angrily. - "No turning back, princess." - she declared, with a serious expression.

After hearing this, Peach sighed and stood up, starting to walk into Bowsette's Castle. With that, Bowsette also followed with a smile in her face, along with Kamek. Right behind, the Koopa soldiers held Toad and brought him in as well.

And for the third time, Luigi was back in the bedroom. This was already getting boring. Every time he went out, he never had time to memorize the halls and manage to escape. Not to mention the Koopa soldiers and that Magikoopa that always teleported him here.

He was thinking about his big brother again. Was he okay? Was he coming to save him? And why was the queen of the Koopas being so nice to him? Wasn't he a prisoner in this place?

Out of nowhere, the door opened again, but Luigi didn't bother to look, and just turned to face the wall. - "Get up quickly, human. We have business to attend to here, now."

That voice...

When he turned around, he saw that it was that Magikoopa again. He saw him raising his wand slowly, as if it were a threat. With that, he sighed and got out of bed, with a frustrated expression.

As soon as he was out of the bedroom, the door closed behind him, startling him a little. Kamek then commented. - "Be happy, because soon you will be free, human."

Luigi looked at him, confused. But before he could process it, he found himself inside a large cage. - "As soon as the princess accepts the queen of the Koopas's deal." - Kamek concluded, as he walked down the corridor, levitating the cage with the green plumber on his side.

As the Koopas organized preparations for the deal, Peach sighed in frustration behind the big gate. She didn't understand why Bowsette wanted to make all those preparations to accept a simple deal. Maybe it was an attempt to try to humiliate her or something.

Out of nowhere, Toad entered, with an expression of despair and headed towards her. - "Princess... I got it!" - Peach sighed, relieved to see it was him. - "Great job." - she whispered, as she bent down.

"It was hard to dodge the guards, but I managed it." - he declared, with a smile, while handing them an Ice Flower. Peach took the power-up and smiled at him. - "Thank you. This deal will be cold." - suddenly, the gates moved, and Peach gestured for Toad to leave and hide.

Then she turned to the gate, already open, while all the other soldiers were lined up there. Peach sighed and walked straight, while coldly looking around.

In front of her, Bowsette stood with his arms crossed, smiling at the princess, who looked at she with disgust. Looking forward, Peach was shocked to see a structure with several chained cages. Among the prisoners, she recognized Cranky Kong and the other Kongs, who were desperate. The other prisoners were also there, also desperate.

"Know that this is a precaution. You don't want anything to happen to them, right?" - the Queen of the Koopas asked, watching Peach look at her in horror. Out of nowhere, Kamek teleported in front of them with the cage Luigi was in, floating just above them. Peach was even more scared to see Mario's little brother there, also trapped in a cage.

Then Bowsette ordered, still smiling. - "Lower the prisoners!" - with that, the cages began to be lowered, much to the despair of the prisoners. And then, Kamek waved his wand, summoning a paper before them and a feather.

Peach reluctantly picked up the feather as she looked at the paper, which said deal was written with a signature line below. She glanced briefly at the green plumber, who was waving slightly at her with a nervous look, as if he was trying to beg her not to do it.

Despite this, the princess looked back at the paper and moved the feather down. However, when it looked like she was actually going to sign, Peach pulled something out of her hair with her other free hand, revealing herself to be the Ice Flower and transforming into Ice Peach. Everyone present was in shock and surprise.

"You really thought I'd sign this easily?" - she asked, while still holding the paper, and began to slowly freeze it. With the exception of the soldiers, Bowsette didn't seem surprised. She just closed her eyes and laughed lightly, before speaking.

"Typical of you. I was expecting this anyway." - with that, she puffed out her cheeks and breathed fire towards the princess, who dodged and jumped to the other side. She started throwing ice balls towards Bowsette and Kamek, without giving them time to react, until she completely froze them.

Then she froze the chains that lowered the prisoners into the lava. After sighing in relief, she prepared to face the soldiers, who screamed and started heading towards her.

"Hang in there, okay?" - Peach declared to Luigi, who nodded nervously at her, before she turned around and threw a big ice ball at those in front of her, throwing them to the sides. Fortunately for Luigi, Kamek's wand hadn't been frozen, so the cage he was in was still floating in the air, for now.

He glanced briefly at Bowsette, who was frozen. He had realized that she wanted to make some deal with the princess, in exchange for releasing him. Although it was something that could be expected, the green plumber felt a little upset, as the Queen of the Koopas had been kind to him and he didn't understand why she would exchange him for something, as if him was an object.

But that didn't matter now, as the only question on his mind was this:

Where was your brother Mario?

Chapter Text

The fight continued, and some of the enemies were frozen during this time. Behind, the ice beneath the chains began to break. Peach began dodging spears thrown by Koopas Paratroopas, and grabbed one of it out of the air.

She placed the spear in a small pit of lava, lighting it, and then jumped and threw the spear toward King Bob-omb's fuse. He woke up and started to get agitated as he tried to put out the fire in his head. After landing, Peach saw the winch holding the cages cracking until it broke.

She prepared to freeze it again when she heard Luigi scream. - "Princess, be careful!!" - before she could process it, King Bob-omb's explosion spread across the place, knocking Peach down, who hit the stairs and losing her power-up in the process.

With the impact of the explosion, the cage in which Luigi was trapped was pushed and thrown out of the altar. He quickly grabbed the edge with his hands, fearing he would fall into the lava below.

With that, all the prisoners in the cages found themselves in pure despair. Meanwhile, one of the prisoners, Lumalee spun around and laughed. - "Whee!"

But before they met the same fate, out of nowhere, the chains suddenly stopped. Above the structure, Donkey Kong held and pulled the winch upwards, pulling the cages where his father and the other Kongs and prisoners were. Everyone sighed in relief, while Lumalee just booed in disappointment.

Luigi did his best to hold on tightly to the edge, but the weight of the cage he was trapped in was pulling him down. After getting up, Peach noticed the green plumber about to fall. She ran towards him, but as soon as she got close, the cage containing the human ended up falling.

The princess watched in horror as her hand remained outstretched. She didn't make it in time. She couldn't save him. She was unable to fulfill her promise to Mario to save his brother.

As he fell, Luigi saw she on the edge, and then down towards the lava. He didn't blame the princess, she had tried her best. What really hurt him the most was that he wouldn't see his brother anymore. He closed his eyes, waiting for death. Before he touched the lava, the cage stopped in midair.

As soon as he opened his eyes, the green plumber realized that he was moving away from the lava. Confused, he looked up and saw a familiar figure. - "Lu!" - "Mario?!" - smile and relief filled his face.

His older brother flew holding the cage back up and placed it on the ground. He checked and realized that the cage didn't have a lock, so there was no way to open it and free his brother from there. He could wait for DK to open the bars. In the meantime, he would check on his brother.

"Everything is fine, Lu. I told ya! See? As long as we're together, everything is gonna be okay." - Mario declared, while smiling. Luigi cried lightly, relieved to see his brother there. - "I thought... that I was going to die..."

"Shhh, it's okay now. I'm here. Let's just focus on getting you out of here now, okay?" - the red plumber reassured him. The younger brother nodded, until he saw the suit his older brother wore. - "Mario, why do you look like a bear? What is this?"

Mario just laughed in response. Soon after, he heard two voices calling him. - "Mario!!" - when he looked, he saw the princess and Toad running towards them.

"Guys! Good to see you!" - Mario declared, smiling at them. - "Mario, I can't believe it! You're really here?! I thought you died!" - Toad declared, looking at the red plumber from top to bottom.

That caught Luigi by surprise. What do you mean he died? But he didn't have time to question, as he saw the princess also approaching. - "Oh Mario, I'm glad to hear you're okay. How did you and Donkey Kong survive the fall?" - she asked.

The red plumber put his hands behind his head, and laughed awkwardly. - "Long story. I'll explain everything later. But now, I need the... " - at that moment, another large figure joined them. - "Hey, how are things?"

"Hey, DK. I need your help, can you open the bars here?" - Mario asked, pointing to the cage. - "Leave it to me." - he declared, as he snapped his hands and approached the cage.

Chapter Text

Inside the ice block, Bowsette regained her senses, and abruptly opened her eyes. She took in the scene before her. Mario and DK had survived and the latter was freeing Luigi from inside the cage. But what really upset her was the fact that once again that faker princess had managed to freeze her earlier.

Bowsette began to seethe with rage, and she began to shatter the ice block with her fire. As soon as Luigi walked through the already open bars and hugged his brother Mario, both of them and the others were surprised by Bowsette's flames, and retreated. The red plumber continued to hug his brother tightly as he stared in shock at a clone of Princess Peach before him.

"You... how... " - Bowsette growled, her once blue eyes now red. She shook her head from side to side, ignoring this, and then she shouted and ordered. - "It doesn't matter! Launch the Bomber Bill and DESTROY THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM!!"

Out of nowhere, the ground around them moved, and they turned to see a Bomber Bill coming out of the volcano and heading towards the Mushroom Kingdom. The five of them were disturbed by this, particularly Peach, seeing that his kingdom was doomed at that moment. - "No... " - she put her hands to her head, in complete distress.

With that, Mario slightly let go of Luigi and addressed the others. - "Take care of him for me, okay?" - he declared, before running and starting to fly.

While Mario dealt with Bomber Bill, the group could do nothing but stand before Bowsette, who glared at them with visible anger in her eyes. When they least expected it, a wave of energy appeared and filled everything around them.

Suddenly, that same wave began to pull everything back into the pipe, knocking everyone who was in Bowser's castle down. Both they and Luigi tried to hold on, with great effort, until all they could see was a flash.

After her ship was teleported to another location and landed on solid ground, Bowsette regained her senses and began to rise from the rubble, with burning fury in her eyes. Upon spotting the red plumber, she puffed out her chest and began to scream. - "MARIO!!!!!"

She soon noticed that Mario had started running towards the Super Star, which had fallen to the ground. Bowsette immediately jumped and stopped in front of the Super Star, preventing the red plumber from catching it. He fell to the ground, with the impact, and looked up, seeing Bowsette angry. - "You want this?" - she questioned, as she saw the frightened human crawling backwards. To stop him from running away, Bowsette grabbed him by his arm, while Mario stared at her with fear on his face, while holding his arm.

Without wasting any time, she gave him a massive sucker punch, sending him flying backwards into the car's windshield. Then she puffed out her chest again and breathed fire in his direction, but Mario managed to dodge in time. She continued walking towards him, while starting to yell at him.

"YOU RUINED MY PLAN TO CONQUER THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM! I WOULD FINALLY DESTROY MY FAKER PRINCESS!" - Bowsette continued, grabbing and throwing a huge rock at him. As she fled, Mario stumbled and fell again, as the rock flew past him and hit a car in front of him.

Before he could react, Bowsette grabbed him from behind and hurled him into another car. - "NOW YOU WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF SURVIVING!!!!" - she continued, as she grabbed and lifted the vehicle, knocking the red plumber to the ground.

Then, Bowsette threw the vehicle towards the human, who deviated in time and started running away, after Bowsette almost crushed him. With that, the Queen of the Koopas start to run after Mario, and hit him with her tail, throwing him towards the Punch-Out Pizzeria.

She stopped in front of the pizzeria, waiting for Mario to come out of there. She saw him crawling away from there until he was behind a bench. That made her smile sadistically, and she started to tease him. - "You really thought you could stop ME?! YOU WORTHLESS, WEAK LITTLE NOTHING! COME OUT AND FIGHT! Or are you too SCARED?!"

When there was no response, Bowsette began to laugh, while bragging. - "Just what I thought"

Suddenly, Peach rushed forward and leapt into the air in a spinning kick, hitting Bowsette in the face. Then Donkey Kong jumped up and bodyslamed Bowsette with a punch, knocking her down. Now more angry, the Queen of the Koopas bellowed and turned her attention to her attackers. She knocked Princess Peach, Donkey Kong, and Toad away with her arm, then she roared at them before charging at them.

Chapter Text

After Princess Peach and Toad were captured by the guards, Bowsette had already subdued Donkey Kong. Bowsette punched the monkey, grabbed him by the throat, and lifted him off the ground. Bowsette lashed out her claws, preparing to finish him off, until she heard the red plumber's voice. - "Hey!" - Mario walked to a stop in the middle of the street and glared at Bowsette. - "Leave him alone." - he exclaimed, determination in his voice.

Releasing Donkey Kong, Bowsette turned her full attention to Mario. - "You just don't know when to quit!" - she growled irritably. - "Yes. I've been told that before." - Mario replied bluntly. The Queen of the Koopas growled in response and prepared to attack him again when, out of nowhere, she heard the princess's voice from behind, followed by a loud hoofbeat. "Mario! The star!"

To her horror, she saw the Super Star flying away from them. - "NO! THAT'S MINE!!" - Bowsette screamed, running toward the human and the star. Seeing she couldn't stop him from reaching the star in time, the Queen of the Koopas stopped running and breathed fire, hitting the human.

But something was wrong. Something was blocking her fire, and she had no idea what it was. But she simply kept going. She had to destroy that human and retrieve the Super Star. After realizing her flame had gone and seeing smoke in the distance, Bowsette smiled in satisfaction and began walking to calmly retrieve the Super Star. When the smoke cleared, it was revealed that Mario and his brother Luigi had become invincible, much to her shock. 

Bowsette was confused when she saw Luigi there, but she didn't have time to think about it. She simply pulled her arm back and punched them hard, and despite the impact, they didn't move. Then, the two siblings faced each other and sent Bowsette flying with an uppercut. After falling to the ground, the Queen of the Koopas got up and ordered her army, shouting: RIP THEM TO PIECES!

She watched her army advance toward the Mario Brothers, and to her fury, they easily knocked them down thanks to the Super Star's powers. Seeing them heading towards her, Bowsette threw a car at them, once again to no avail, as Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi grabbed a power line like a trapeze and kicked her. Bowsette tries to crush them, but Invincible Mario slides under her dress and throws her on the ground.

Invincible Luigi headbutts Bowsette and uses a mushroom as a trampoline. Bowsette swore she heard Luigi apologize for hitting her, but she didn't have time to react when Invincible Mario uppercuts and bicycle-kicks on her while Invincible Luigi throws a block at her, causing the Queen of the Koopas tumbling down. Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi grabbed her by her tail, spun her around, and threw her into the air. Bowsette was semi-conscious when she saw Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi preparing to punch her. Bowsette was struck and thrown toward the ground, causing a giant crack in her castle.

Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi then front-flipped and prepared for the finishing double-curb stomp. Seeing them coming towards him, Bowser then attempted to scorch them to death, but Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi broke through the fire breath and striked Bowser, destroying his castle in the process.

As soon as she got up, she saw Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi advancing toward her for the finishing double-curb stomp. Wasting no time, Bowsette attempted to scorch them to death, but Invincible Mario and Invincible Luigi broke through the fire breath and striked her, destroying her castle in the process.
