Chapter 1: Prologue: Then The Future Is In Your Hands
Chapter Text
In a space between worlds, two beings simply drifted.
“For someone who doesn’t play with timelines often, you’re quite adept at disturbing them.”
“Gee, thanks.”
“What? Are you not satisfied with this outcome? Their world will live on, even past the run end as long as you remain here.”
“I guess. It’s not that I don’t want a happy ending, I just…I guess I wanted more out of it.”
Silence, then;
“Perhaps you’d like to return to an old friend.”
“Hmm?”
“I can’t make any promises, but maybe that goodbye doesn’t have to be a goodbye. I’m working on an experiment that is very, very interesting.”
“Really? Then I accept your offer, if only to satisfy my own curiosity.”
“Then the future is in your hands…”
Long ago, two races ruled over the earth;
HUMANS and MONSTERS.
One day, a war broke out between the two races.
After a long battle, the humans were victorious.
They sealed the monsters underground with a magic spell.
Many years later…
Mt Ebott, 201X
Legends say that those who climb the mountain never return.

Chapter I: Three Times
Three.
Three times.
Three times every monster in the Underground was turned to dust.
Three times, Toriel learned how much betrayal stings.
Three times, Papyrus tried to set the human’s path in a different direction.
Three times, a true hero fought and died.
Three times, the Power of NEO failed.
Three times, Sans tried his best to stop this megalomania.
Three times, Flowey was reminded of his own fear.
Three times, Asgore fell, an unsuspecting victim.
But the fourth time was different.
The fourth time, when Frisk woke up on that bed of flowers, they weren’t an unsuspecting child, unaware of what was to come.
This time, they remembered.
They remembered walking endlessly, seeking out as many monsters as they could, guided by someone they couldn’t see, could barely hear. They remembered watching the monsters fall, remembered the reluctance falling away to blind obedience.
They remembered killing everyone.
Frisk sat there in that flower bed for a long time. Part of them wanted to cry. Part of them wanted to know what was going on.
Part of them didn’t understand why they remembered.
Eventually, they got up and walked through the door. They waited.
And waited.
And waited.
And eventually, Flowey appeared.
Three times, Flowey had been smug and cunning, trying his best to trick Frisk and steal their SOUL.
This time, he stared in a mixture of shock and horror. “Wh-What? What did you…”
At the voice’s request, Frisk took a step forward. Flowey’s eyes widened and he disappeared back into the ground.
He remembers, too, Frisk thought, watching him as he left.
Something’s going on.
There were no monsters to leap at them while they walked through the RUINS. Toriel never came to check on them, and Napstablook wasn’t there when they reached the bed of roses.
Toriel’s door was locked.
Frisk had picked locks before to sneak snacks, but never a door like this one. They were urged to continue, and narrowed their eyes at it. First time for everything, I guess.
It took a little while, but eventually, the door swung open. Nobody was home. There was no pie, and all of the rooms were locked. Frisk began walking down the steps.
Toriel wasn’t there. The doors to Snowdin only locked from the inside, so Frisk could easily go through, but nobody was there.
The camera in the bushes was turned off.
There was nobody in the entirety of Snowdin, but when they finally stepped onto the path to get to waterfall, they saw him.
Papyrus stood there, frowning. “Human! Stop where you are!”
Frisk took a step forward, even though they were more than a little worried.
Papyrus frowned. “That's--you know what, I don’t know what I expected. Human! I know what you did!”
Did Papyrus remember, too? Did everyone remember?
“We won’t let you hurt anyone else again!” Papyrus, putting a hand on his chest. “I, the Great Papyrus, will stop you-”
“Pap, NO.” Sans stepped forward, and grabbed Papyrus’ hand. “Not yet. We have to go .”
Frisk watched Papyrus hesitate before following Sans, the two of them disappearing into the snow.

I want to add the fonts and colors and things, but I’m horrible at written code. Acheron id continuing to break things, as they do…
Chapter 3: Chapter II: Gray Doors
Summary:
Frisk finds a door.
Chapter Text
Chapter II: Gray Doors
Frisk continued walking, but there was still nobody there. Monster Kid was gone, and there were no more monsters roaming about. Eventually, they reached the wall door.
It stayed closed.
They knocked on the wall.
It stayed closed.
Frisk was urged to try a different way and started looking around. Where else could they go?
The pathway that they had come through was now blocked by a gray door that had definitely not been there before. They hesitated before opening the door and walking through.
It was a mostly gray room with another gray door at the other end. Frisk found that the voice had gotten a little louder, and seemed to be..having a conversation?
“I think I broke the timeline.”
“That you did. Rest assured, if anything went too badly, we could Reset.”
“Fair enough. I’m excited to see where this will go.”
Frisk frowned and glanced around, confused, before walking to the other end of the room. They twisted the door handle and pushed open the door. The monsters were…they were scared. And apparently, the voice didn’t think that this was things going ‘too badly’.
Something about that didn’t quite sit right with them.
Frisk’s shoes filled up with water as they walked through waterfall. Despite everything, Gerson had still been in his shop. Eventually, they stumbled upon the bridge.
There, on the other side, stood three figures; Sans, his eye flashing between blue and yellow, Undyne, still clad in her iron armor and holding a magic spear, and Papyrus, a magic attack glowing in his hands. Frisk paused and stared for a while.
This doesn’t look too fun, They thought worriedly, but stepped forward and onto the bridge.
“Human!” Papyrus called. “Your journey ends here! Turn back or face the consequences!”
“You won’t hurt anyone else!” Undyne added, sounding angry. Her eyes shone softly through her helmet, and Frisk held on tight to the pages of their torn notebook and took another step forwards. Sans squinted slightly. “Listen, kid…you don’t have to keep going. If you do…well, you’re going to have a bad time.”
Frisk took a deep breath. They’d beat all of them before, they could beat them again, right? They took another step forward. Sans shrugged. “Well…I tried to warn ya.”
And then all hell broke loose.

Chapter 4: Chapter III: A Bad Time
Summary:
A bad time. Thats all
Chapter Text
Chapter III: A Bad Time
About seven tries later, Frisk was still dodging bones and magic spears and beams of light that fired at them, often faster than they could react. They winced as a spear grazed their shoulder, and was met face-to-face with one of Sans’ blasters.
GAME OVER.
The next time they woke up, however, they were not on the bridge. Instead, they were back on the bed of flowers. Frisk thought back to what the voices had said; if anything went too badly, we could always Reset.
It did make more sense now than it had before. Frisk sighed and got to their feet, walking into the next room.
Flowey was there this time, and he still looked scared. “...Why?”
Frisk stared for a few moments, then signed, Why…what?
“I…I don’t understand why you’re doing all of this.” Flowey frowned. “You left. You were free; you did it! You really proved that this world is kill or be killed …but you came back. Why…?”
Frisk frowned. I didn’t have a choice.
“..What?” Flowey blinked. “That…That doesn’t make any sense.”
Frisk sat down and began to explain that they had only just woken back up at the flower bed, and eventually it spiraled into them explaining the strange voice that sometimes told them to do things that maybe weren’t in their best interest, now that they thought about it.
Flowey was silent for a long time. “I…I need to think about this.”
With that, he disappeared into the ground and Frisk continued along their way. This time, it was easy to unlock the door to the RUINS, except now, Toriel was there. Her eyes were narrowed in a mixture of betrayal and contempt. “Why have you come back here?”
Frisk blinked at her. I don’t want to hurt anyone anymore. I promise.
Toriel frowned. “You have only decided that now? After everything you did?”
Frisk leaped to one side as a spiral of fire was thrown at them.
“Go back and stay there.” Toriel whispered, but her voice cracked. Frisk tried their best to convince her that they didn’t mean any harm, but she just wasn’t listening.
19082
Frisk watched the dust settle. The first time, it had been a shock, but…well, what had they been expecting?
Now?
It felt horrible.
They walked shakily through the corridor and into the second room, where Flowey appeared.
“Hey! You!” Flowey looked up at Frisk, who jumped. Me?
“No, I meant the ghost monster behind you. DUH!” Flowey rolled his eyes. “Listen, I don’t think I need to tell you that dying isn’t fun. So, I propose a different solution; I think I have a way to fix your…situation. BUT, if I do this, you have to promise not to kill me again.”
Frisk nodded. I promise.
“Right.” Flowey took a deep breath. “Let’s hope this works.”
And then…everything went dark.
The End…?
Notes:
Rest Assured! This is not the end! I don’t have a set time for when the next part comes out but just know that it will. Unrelated, happy Holidays and New Year everyone!
