Chapter Text
Chay lets out a sigh of relief when he steps through the door to Hum bar. It’s early enough in the night that the streets shouldn’t have been too bad but Friday nights were always a little crazy. This meant that the normal fifteen minute trip took him almost forty minutes. Whatever, he got here in one piece and that is what really matters. He looks around the room for his brother and frowns when he doesn’t see him. He spots Yok behind the bar and gives her a smile when she sees him and walks up to the bar.
“Chay, sweety, are you okay?”
“I’m fine, I promise. I’m just looking for my brother. He left his phone at home.”
Yok lets out a relieved laugh and places a glass of water down in front of him.
“Of course he did. Porsche is grabbing some bottles from the back before we get too busy. He’ll be back up in a few minutes, you can wait for him here.”
Yok gets called over by a patron at the other end of the bar and she gives him a smile before walking over to help them. Chay waits for a few minutes, sipping on his cup of water and smiling at Porsche’s co-workers. Porsche comes out of the storage and frowns when he sees his brother sitting up at the bar. He quickly sets down the bottles and walks over to him.
“Chay, what are you doing here? Did something happen?”
Chay shakes his head and sticks his hand into this pocket. He pulls out Porsche’s phone and hands it over to him.
“I found this on the living room floor. You left in a bit of a rush so it must have fallen out of your pocket when you were leaving.”
Porsche takes his phone and lets out a relieved sigh.
“I thought that it fell out of my pocket when I was riding here. This relieves me of so much stress now, I thought I was going to have to save up for a new one.”
Porsche ruffles his brother’s hair affectionately and then eyes the glass sitting on the bar in front of him.
“What’s in that?”
Chay follows his gaze and then laughs.
“It’s water, don’t worry. Yok knows better than to give me alcohol without you knowing. Anyways, I’m going to head out before things get too busy.”
“Okay, let me know when you get home.”
“I’m actually going to Kim’s for the night, but I’ll let you know when I get there.”
Chay laughs when Porsche makes a fake grossed out look and turns to leave, only to run directly into someone.
“Oh I am so sorry, I should have watched where I was going. Oh hi, P’Kinn.”
It takes Kinn a moment to realize who was speaking to him but then he gives Chay a smile.
“Hello, Chay. What are you doing here?”
“Just dropping something off. What about you?”
Kinn gestures to two people sitting at one of the tables.
“Meeting up with some friends. One of them got a recommendation for this bar. Said that this place was pretty calm and had good drinks….. And apparently hot bartenders.”
Chay hears Porsche clear his throat.
“Oh, uh, P'Kinn, this is my brother, Porsche. Hia, this is P’Kinn, He’s one of Kim’s brothers.”
Porsche looks a little more relieved that Chay isn’t just talking to a random older man. He looks at Kinn, sizing him up before extending a hand out.
“It’s nice to meet you, Kinn.”
Kinn looks Porsche up and down and grins before stepping forward and taking Porsche’s hand.
“Yes, it is very nice to meet you, Porsche.”
