Chapter Text
1 year later:
“Keith! Keith!” Rosa screamed as she ran into the kitchen. Laughs echoed through the house as she screamed.
“What? What!? Where is the fire!?” Keith cried lifting her when she jumped him.
“Papa is being weird!” Rosa hissed into his ear.
“How so?” Keith asked adjusting her so that he could put the cinnamon rolls into the oven. A stable in the Kogan-McClain household every single Saturday.
“He’s-”
“Rosa you keep your mouth shut!” Lance called as he made his way into the kitchen.
Rosa screamed and tried to hide on Keith’s back. “You acting weird Papa!”
“Am not! Now let's go get ready for the day alright? Keith is making breakfast.” Lance tried to pull her off of Keith who chuckled and tried to release the monkey-like child.
“She can stay.” Keith offered.
“She knows too much.” Lance huffed.
Rosa laughed still trying to cling to Keith.
“Ya! Papa has a fancy ring!”
Keith blinked when Lance froze. “Fancy ring?”
“That's enough Rosa time to go upstairs.”
“Ya! Like the one Lotor gave Mommy before they got married!” Rosa cried out still avoiding Lance’s reach.
Lance though gave up after that hanging his head.
“Lance?” Keith asked confused, but also a little suspicious. “What fancy ring?”
“Ugh, it was supposed to be a surprise. Rosa, you are so grounded!” Lance huffed as he stomped out of the kitchen.
“Keith?”
“Hmm?” Keith mused looking at her as she leaned over his shoulder.
“Am I grounded?”
“Hmmm….. probably not,” Keith replied helping her down.
Lance came back a moment later as Rosa climbed her way up onto a bar stool and poured herself a cup of juice.
“Here.” Lance shoved a box into Keith’s chest. Keith didn't let it drop but had to force down a smile when he opened the box.
“You're not going to do it correctly?” Keith asked cheekily.
“Well I was but someone spilled the beans!” Lance glared at Rosa who innocently drank her juice.
“I guess this would be a bit awkward if you did then.” Keith chuckled as he reached into one of the upper cabinets, the ones Lance never goes into, and pulled something out.
Then opened it for Lance. “Will you marry me?” Keith asked.
Rosa giggled but was quick to silence herself, her little blue eyes quickly darting between the two of them.
“You fool, of course, I'll marry you,” Lance replied as Keith pushed the silver band with one blue gem onto his finger. “But you have to wear my ring too.”
Keith couldn't help but laugh as he looked at the matching ring Lance had gotten him, except his gem was red instead of blue.
“I think I'm going to have to put it on a chain. Don't want it to break at the shop.”
“Well, I suppose that's alright.” He leaned in to kiss Keith.
It was peaceful for about 30 seconds before Rosa spoke up.
“Am I still grounded?”
