Chapter Text
As Rain curled up in the nest with his mates in his very large and comfortable birthing suite, he was reminded just how wonderful it could be to have a very wealthy alpha prone to wildly overspending on his loved ones.
His birth had been long and difficult, lasting a seemingly never ending thirty hours after his water broke three weeks early and terrified all three of them. He was exhausted and sore and eternally grateful that Prapai and Phayu had insisted on the best private care money could buy.
Though he felt like he’d been run over by Phayu’s Land Rover, he couldn’t stop smiling as he watched their family with their little girl.
Though his girlfriend had already had to leave, Saifah had been unable to tear himself away from the pup. He stood behind Sky, watching as the beta cooed down at their mutual Goddaughter.
“I was so worried when you said you’d gone into labor so early but god Rain, if you had gone three more weeks I think you would have exploded,” Sky told him, awe in his voice.
“Right? Close to a month early and almost eight pounds. I was honestly beginning to wonder if she was hiding a twin in there like people kept asking.”
Pai chuckled from where he was cuddled up against Rain’s left. “Thank the gods that wasn’t the case. Phayu would have fainted again.”
The elder alpha groaned from Rain’s right. “I’m never living that down, am I?”
“Never, brother,” Saifah chuckled.
“I think it’s sweet you were so excited,” Sky said quietly.
Phayu couldn’t help but smile at the beta. The man had initially been skittish and closed off around both himself and Prapai; a byproduct of a troubled past that had hurt him deeply. Rain had never specified exactly what he had been through as it wasn’t his story to tell, which both alphas understood, but it was clear it had been bad. They had been gentle around Sky and done their best to prove that they were good men who would love Rain always and take good care of him, and the young man had slowly opened up to them. When he had, they’d been treated to his keen intelligence and sarcastic wit.
“Thank you, N’Sky.”
Thankfully, everyone’s attention was drawn away from Phayu and back to the baby as she let out an adorable yawn that had them all enthralled.
“You sure you want to go with Tempest” Saifah questioned. “Feels like you’re asking for trouble.”
Sky let out a snort. “She belongs to these three. She’s going to be a handful no matter the name.” He ran a finger gently over a downy cheek. “Just the sweetest little handful.”
“N’Sky has a point,” Prapai admitted. “With our DNA she’d be destined to be a force of nature with or without beinyyg named after one.”
Saifah chuckled. “Very true.”
Sky, knowing Rain better than anyone other than his mates, could tell that he was getting antsy to have his pup back. He walked over and slid his precious cargo into her mama’s arms before pressing a kiss to his forehead.
“Proud of you.”
Rain looked up at his best friend with glossy eyes. “Thank you. I love you.”
Sky blushed as he always did at Rain’s open care and affection.
“Love you too.” He turned back to Saifah. “Now, let’s give these four a break before Plerng and Phan descend.”
“Ah yes, they texted that they’ll be here in half an hour,” Saifah told the other alphas with a grin. “They’re monstrously excited.”
The pair of them took off, and Phayu and Pai sank deeper into the nest on either side of their omega, all of their eyes lingering on their baby girl in her little purple blanket.
“She’s so perfect,” Rain whispered. “Look what we did.”
“You did all the hard work,” Phayu told him. “And she’s the spitting image of you.”
Pai couldn’t help but agree. “That little pout is all you, Rain. Your eyes as well.”
The omega sighed contentedly as he brought Tempest up to gently scent her.
“Doesn’t matter who she looks like. She’s beautiful, and perfect, and she’s all ours.”
