Chapter Text
In a forest there was someone lying on the ground, enjoying the sun and the wind, an 11-year-old boy wearing blue shorts.
"Hello, you must be wondering who I am, let's just say I'm not from here, I'm what many people know as reincarnated." He smiles and scratches his chin.
He gets up and starts walking through the forest, watching and listening to all the peace in silence with a happy smile on his face.
"So I don't remember anything about my old life, I ended up exchanging my memories for a special ability, all I know is that my name is Lucas, I don't need my surname anymore, all I know is that I'm in Hilda's world, this world wouldn't be a bad place to live, the problem is that it seems I'm not the only one who came here." He observes the whole landscape, admiring how beautiful it is and listening to everything he can.
He sits under a tree and looks ahead, observing a beautiful open field to kill, rabbits coming out and feeding, the birds flying and even some woffs, closing his eyes he breathes in the fresh air and enjoys the breeze he gets on his face.
"When I got here I was a bit scared at first, but I ended up finding a letter in my pocket that explained everything to me." He takes out a folded letter from his pocket that reads as follows.
"If you've been reading this that means you've woken up, look you don't need to know what it was or what it was, we've gained a new life and just enjoy it you're now in the world of the animated series Hilda it would be all good if there wasn't a single problem we're not the only ones to come here.
I can't tell you how many there are, all I can say is that everyone has their own abilities, but you're not out there with nothing, we've taken on a special kind of skinwalker, we can turn into a manticore, you'll have to learn the transformation yourself, we've also gained the kanima poison, I know it doesn't sound like much but no one can take something too Op. So don't worry, last thing live this life the way you want, don't regret anything, good luck".
"Those were the words that my previous self left in the letter, I don't know why he changed our memory" He takes a deep breath and lets out a long sigh "When I arrived here I was 8 years old, it's been a long time, I've learned to control my transformation, I can take on the full form of a manticore or pull out just a few parts. I've also explored the area a lot and found Hilda's house, but I've never been there to talk to her, I thought it best not to get involved in the plot." He starts walking until he comes to another hill just below it in an open field where you can see a very rustic and beautiful hut.
He stared at the hut from afar thanks to his ability, he could see up to 6 meters, but he wasn't that far away either, but he was well hidden so that he wouldn't be seen accidentally, a part of him didn't want to get involved in the plot, but another part felt lonely, and he couldn't help but let out a very sad sigh.
"I don't remember my life, but I do have memories of the first season of Hilda. I imagine there may be two or three days before the plot begins." He stared at the hut, not even noticing the noise coming from behind him.
"I see you're here again, why don't you go over there?" A voice said behind Lucas.
When he looks back, he sees a small creature that seems to be made of light-colored wood. Its head floats slightly above its body and has a single small leaf protruding above it. It has two oval-shaped eyeholes and a round opening for a mouth.
"Woodman, I've already told you not to come on like that, if I end up hurting you again." Lucas says this with a serious face, "I met him when I was relaxing in a field enjoying the peace and quiet, and that's when he suddenly came at me. I ended up attacking him with my scorpion tail, I didn't hurt him, but I ended up leaving a hole in his head with my stinger." He spoke again, looking away as if he were talking to someone.
"You're still doing that, you're strange," Woodman says totally disinterestedly, "I still don't understand why you haven't gone there, since you like watching the hut so much." He says, shaking his head.
Lucas shakes his head in denial and continues to stare for a few more minutes, then lets out a sigh and turns to face the woodman, noticing that he is carrying three logs of wood and realizing that it is getting dark.
"Leave it alone, enjoy the fire." Saying that, he leaves.
As Lucas leaves, the woodman watches him for a while before going to the hut. When he gets there, he opens the door and enters without ceremony.
"Woodman comes in again without knocking, thick." Who spoke was an adult woman with brown hair and black eyes. She was wearing a brown turtleneck sweater, brown pants and white shoes.
"You should close the door." Woodman says, lying down in front of the fireplace after placing the wood next to it.
"Sigh!" Who sighed was a girl of about 11 whose hair comes in a blue color. Her outfit is a black beret, a yellow scarf, a red sweater with yellow cuffs, a blue skirt, which is the same shade of blue as her hair, black tights and red rain boots.
After closing the door, she went back to the table where she and her mother were playing a kind of board game. The woodman was lying down thinking deeply about something, and the girl, noticing this, asked, "Is everything all right, you seem more pensive than usual.
"I was thinking of bringing someone here". He said it as if it were totally normal to bring a stranger to someone else's house.
This intrigued both the adult and the girl, who never imagined that the woodman had a person to bring to his house, until the adult asked, "May I know what you're thinking of bringing to my house?"
"There's a boy I know who lives in the forest on his own," he said quite naturally.
"How old is he?" The girl asked, a little interested in the news.
The adult couldn't help but let out a sad sigh, knowing that living so far away prevented the girl from having friends her own age.
"I can't say, I think he's your age, he's basically your height." After he says this, he realizes that the girl had a mixture of emotions, from happy to restless.
"But what about that boy's parents?" When that question was asked, she noticed that Woodman let out a sigh and turned his head away.
"I don't know, he never wanted to talk about it, all I know is that he lives in a cave a bit far from here." When he said this, he noticed that their expressions changed to concern and sadness.
The little girl looks down at her hand with a very sad face. Noticing this, the adult looks back up and gives a slight nod and a smile.
"It would be nice to have someone of Hilda's age to play with or talk to." Said the mother, looking at both the woodman and Hilda.
"Yes, that would be nice, he must love adventure since he basically lives in the forest." Hilda replies enthusiastically.
After a while Woodman left and Hilda and her mother got ready for bed, Hilda was at her window looking out at a peculiar creature that looked like a white fox with black horns on top of its head, a long bushy tail and some spots on its back.
"Sigh, does he feel lonely out there in Twig?" Hilda ends up asking herself when she looks outside
Meanwhile, in a cave a little way from the hut, Lucas was enjoying his fried rabbit that he had hunted and roasted.
"Snap!, I never get tired of eating rabbit even without seasoning, I can even eat it without frying it, I think that's because I'm a skinwalker." Lucas says again, looking away as if he's talking to someone.
Lucas looks towards the exit of the cave where he can see the stars "The nights here are great, I'd never live in the city." He enjoys his food and breathes in the clear air.
After eating and enjoying the clear sky, Lucas goes to the far end of the cave to lie down on his makeshift bed.
"Tomorrow will be a better day"[Thought] thought Lucas and Hilda before closing their eyes at the same time to go to sleep.
