“I promise, this will definitely help boost your profile as a florist and promote your new shop!” Was what Charles had been told when he agreed to do the magazine feature.
Looking at it now, he supposes that it was true. Ever since it came out, orders have nearly tripled, and more passerbyers had stopped by to check out his shop. Even his regulars commented on the increase in business, and his newly made shop-instagram received 10,000 followers overnight.
On social media, people were… supportive, to say the least.
“Omg I would totally visit this flower shop just to see the owner! Look how cute he is!” Someone commented on his Instagram.
“Suddenly, I wish I was a flower so I could be arranged by him.” Another commented. His brother Bruce had laughed at that one, but he didn’t get it. Why would anyone want to be arranged like a flower? Didn’t they know how tiring it was to make a bouquet look nice? How could you even arrange a human like a flower? No, it was impossible. He decided that the comment simply didn’t make sense.
“It’s a nice magazine feature,” his mother had commented when she saw it. “Maybe this will help you get a girlfriend too. Girls love flowers; don’t be scared to talk to them when they come into the shop!” His mother was relentless with that, hoping that Charles would find someone he loved to settle down with.
But he already found his love in life: portraying beauty through flowers. He had poured his heart and soul into this business, and he wanted nothing more than for it to be a success, for him to be able to share the joy that flowers and bouquets brought him with the world.
Until he found someone that made him feel like that, he vowed to stay single.
