Chapter Text
The arrangement, she agrees was pretty fucked up if she was being honest.
And if she was a normal person, then she would have agreed. But as it turned out, Minnie was not a normal person. She was fucked up in ways that it was concerning.
Minnie was a street kid, through and through, and she did everything she could in order to survive and to provide for herself and some of the alley kids that trusted her. She’d started working corners when she was young. In Crime Alley it was look out for yourself and not others, that’s the only way to survive if you wanted to survive that is.
Minnie wasn’t stupid by any means, she was actually smart if she was honest, but circumstances arose that she was unable to study, and in Gotham you weren’t anything without a proper education. Which she thought was bullshit. There were so many smart people out in the Alley and the only reason they weren’t doing so well was because the system was against poor people.
She’d learn to take care of herself ever since she was young, she knew how to get out of tough situations and often than not people underestimated her due to how small and petite she was, that they always fell into the trap of her scamming them of their money, especially pervs who went after younger women. She knew how to use a knife and was skilled at it, she also knew how to use a gun if it needed to be used.
She had grown up in violence so she was always in fight or flight mode.
Minnie was not a stranger to sexual violence, it was all she’d known, from her foster parents, which was why she had gone into the streets because at least there she would get paid for it, and she wouldn’t have to fear for her life. At least there she had people looking out for her, and while sometimes it got cold and sometimes there were slow days, it helped pay for rent.
She was good with tech, exceptional was what the other girls said, but there was only so much that she could do when she didn’t have access to a computer or enough money to repair the one that she used.
She helped rebuild them under a pen name but that was going steady, she was afraid of committing to it because she was afraid of change. So it wasn’t something that she was pursuing at the moment no matter how much Amy told her she could get money out of it.
It all started a couple months ago, Poison Ivy, a known rogue, had gotten out of Arkham and was wreaking panic in Gotham with her pollen. Minnie was sure there wasn’t a week where there wasn’t a potential danger to her life.
And Minnie had been in her one bedroom apartment, listening to music and the news, something she did to pass the time, it was around three in the morning, and she was an insomniac so she was trying to do her best to exercise in order to tire herself out, the next day was her day off so she wanted to get as much sleep as possible. But sleep wasn’t coming so she worked on her flexibility and on making sure her weight stayed the same.
She was eighteen, or had just turned eighteen, she still looked young, but if she wanted to stay in the business and get back as many creeps as she could then she had to stay petite.
She listened to the news about how the Bats were taking care of Ivy and all that, the news was just background noise to her, she didn’t really care for the vigilantes or the rogues, her main priority was herself and her life. It was surviving.
And she was continuing meditating until she heard the window to her apartment open. It had been dark, because that’s what she preferred when she was meditating, and oftentimes she wasn’t in her apartment, she was out working, so there wasn’t much in it, so she guessed it could have been seen as abandoned, but it was not, she lived there.
Minnie wasn’t one to easily panic, so when she heard the window open and someone stagger in with a groan, she stood up from her place on the floor, a bit embarrassed about her outfit choice, but nevertheless she grabbed a bat she kept handy and slowly walked towards where the groan came from. She wasn’t going to go down without a fight.
She slowly walked out bat raised as she was about to swing at the intruder, only to stop when she realized who it was.
Minnie knew about the vigilantes in Gotham, she knew about them but had never interacted with them, and she preferred it that way, she didn’t need unnecessary trouble. The only costumed person she interacted with once, and just briefly, like a glance, was Red Hood and he was a crime lord. And she really did not need to go near any of that, even if he was supposedly nice to working girls. She wasn;t taking any chances.
In front of her was Nightwing, the blue clad vigilante, and he was holding on to the dresser she had, like his life depended on it, his face beat red as he shivered. He still had his mask on, so she couldn’t see his face properly. Not like she would even want to, she was not interested in any of it, she just wished he wasn’t there, him being there would cause her trouble, she just knew it.
She frowned, the dude looked ready to keel over and was in a lot of pain, and Minnie wasn’t that heartless, he was a vigilante, sure she didn’t like them, but they helped people. Which meant they were good to her community. She couldn’t just let him there if she could help. She wanted to, but her conscience would not allow it.
Her first thought was that he was injured or something, she had a first aid kit in her bathroom that she could use. She used it whenever she got into a scuffle with other people and because sometimes some clients were just the worst.
She dropped the bat and slowly inched towards him telegraphing her moves so as to not spook him. She did not want to get her ass handed to her by him.
“Hey” She said softly, “are you alright? Do you need first aid? I have an aid in the sink, where are you hurt?”She tried to keep her voice steady to make him know that she meant no harm. And she stepped back a bit when his eyes laid on her, a look of confusion and pure pain on it as he kneeled down, a groan coming out of his mouth, causing her to curse as she rushed towards him, kneeling in front of him, her hands touching his forehead and he was hot, like he was having a fever. Which meant that he needed liquid and to just sleep it off. That made her frown even more.
When she did this she felt him shiver and moan. And Minnie frowned.
“Nightwing” She tried to reach out to him but there was no answer as she touched his shoulder trying to get a response from him, and all she heard was him moan and groan in pain, like he was trying his best to control something. She was thinking about it, the symptoms, it was weird, it didn’t seem like just a fever, he looked like he was in pain.
And it didn’t take long for it to click to Minnie, she had heard about poison Ivy, and her pollen. They were weird but recently there had been new pollen going around.
Sex Pollen.
From what she’d heard it deteriorated the victims health and their life the longer they were in contact with it, until someone got it out of their system. And the only way to get it out of their system? And did you know the fastest way to cure them? It was to fuck them. Which she thought was a new level of fucked up if she was being honest, was consent even something that could be given? It was a nightmare to people.
Minnie kneeled in front of Nightwing for a couple seconds, her hand still on his chest as she remembered hearing this out in the street, how it got dangerous for working girls like her when normal civilians got dosed, especially some people with questionable morals, that they wanted to take things by force, how rape cases increased due to the pollen, it was awful she had heard, and it seemed like Nightwing’s resolve was crumpling as he groaned in pain and moaned in agony, startling her.
It looked straight up painful.
She looked at him and his painful expression, and looked up at the ceiling. “I’m gonna regret this” She mumbled to herself before approaching the young man once more. She was thinking about it, sure she could wait or take him somewhere where he could be helped, he was with the Bats right? So they were bound to be waiting for him or something. But with the way he looked, the dude looked like he didn’t have the time.
And she really did not want a dead Nightwing on her conscience, so she made her resolve, she would help and then they would forget and it would be over.
“Hey Nightwing” She spoke, causing him to turn to her, his eyes barely awake as he shivered. “I know what this is,” She said as he stared at her. “I know it hurts,” She continued.
“I can help” She said as he continued to stare at her as she approached him, her hands on his chest, his body shivering. “If you don’t get help you’ll die” She said as she grabbed his face.
“You’re drugged up on sex pollen,” She said as he continued to stare at her. She wasn’t sure he could understand her, the whole pollen was messing up his nervous system. Again, it was fucked up.
“I can help relieve the pain, I just need your consent” She said before adding to him. “You have mine” She said as he continued to stare at her, and she could tell that it was taking everything in him to not crumble, and if she was being honest it hurt. Minnie had always been more empathetic than most, which was why she didn’t like seeing this random vigilante in pain. It was also why she usually shared her money with the homeless kids she got along with, it was just something she couldn’t quite squish.
“If you don’t want to, say something, please” She said and after a couple seconds of silence she sighed. Well there went that, she would have to see the man cry in agony, because no way was she going to do anything without consent, she wasn’t an animal. She was about to turn away before she was tugged forward and she was met with a hungry kiss, she startled a bit, she was not expecting it.
Nightwings kiss was hungry and like he was starved, and Minnie had a job to do, so she didn’t take long before she was kissing the vigilante back causing him to moan, his tongue slipping in her mouth as he desperately tried to eat her alive, and it took a while before he let go and she was able to gasp for air.
She gasped a bit, her face red, not before she was laid on the ground, Nightwing kissing her neck causing her to grimace a bit, he was forceful, and a moaned as his hands traveled down her legs. She really should stop sleeping with just a t-shirt on, and panties.
As his fingers traveled down her legs she shivered as he continued to kiss her with so much vigor, she was questioning how much it was going to hurt because if this continued by the time the morning came round she was going to be tired in the morning.
It didn’t take long for him to start pleasuring her entrance with his fingers which caused her to buckle as she tried to contain her moans, Nightwing still looked like he was in pain, and Minnie remembered, the one who's supposed to be pleasured is the victim not her. It took some coaching to stop him from putting more fingers in, and for her to kiss him desperately so that she could put him on his back as she straddled him, her taking off her t-shirt as she straddled him, completely naked.
“We need to get this off” She said pointing at his suit, and it didn’t take much convincing for the young man to take it off and Minnie was glad that he still kept his mask because she did not want to know that at all who they were, because then it would be personal, and when it came to her job, nothing could be personal . But Nightwing was built, his muscles, it made her feel bad, because this was just so the guy didn’t die. He flipped them over, her below him.
Minnie admired his build as he once more kissed her hungrily, spreading her legs, causing her to stare up at him as he stared down at her, his eyes filled with lust, and she couldn’t take it, she was bothered.
“Do it” Was all she said after he finished kissing her and he plunged into her, causing her to moan out. He was big.
“Fuck” She mumbled as he began to suck on her titties. “Mmm-- fuck” She continued softly as he started of slow before he started speeding up causing her to buckle and moan in pain.
“Fuck!” was all she could say as he drilled into her her legs wrapped around his toned waist.
Nightwing didn’t say anything as Minnies face turned red and moans came out of her, you could hear her body hitting the floor as he drilled into her and she tried to keep her moans quiet, but there was no luck as Nightwing picked her up while still in her and captured her lips, as he continued to drill into her causing her to moan as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
She wrapped her legs around his waist not letting go as she felt his entire dick in her. It was amazing what happened when someone could carry you and just have you bounce on their dick, that was something that Minnie hadn't experienced with anyone, not that she was complaining. Maybe she could ask next time she had a client if they could do that.
It didn’t take long for him to have her in the doggy position as he went all in on her as her face was on the floor.
“Please continue,” She moaned as he continued to speed up. She was in cloud nine, and she knew that come the morning she would have to mop the floor from the excessive sweat and come that was coming out of the both of them but she didn’t care. She felt full.
“Fuck” She muttered as Nightwing turned her to her side and continued to fuck her.
It didn’t take long before she decided that she should give him some satisfaction back, again it didn’t take much to have the vigilante on his back as she kneeled near his waist.
“My turn” She said as she grabbed his dick and pumped it three times, cum coming out of it causing Nightwing to moan as she took it right in her mouth, he was big, but she would do it as her tongue slurped on it causing the male to moan as he looked at her eyes, watching her every movement his dick twitching, and she gave him a blow job, it didn’t take long before he came over her mouth, and she watched as he watched her swallow it.
Which made him moan as he once again pinned her down kissing her fiercely, causing her to moan.
The vigilante was flexible, Minnie found that out when he started fucking her in postions she didn’t think possible but she was in cloud nine so she didn’t quite care, he came inside her twice.
But thankfully to her job, Minnie was on birth control and couldn’t have kids, so she didn’t mind or had to worry about getting pregnant. Usually with clients there was a huge rule against coming inside, but Minnie had never felt so good in her life that that didn’t matter.
And she could tell that his fever was coming down as she bounced off his cock, his hands on her waist was getting tired, they’d gone at it for three hours straight, and she was getting tired, and she could tell that so was he.
He fell asleep first, thankfully they’d gone to the couch, his hands surrounding her waist as she got out of his grip, cleaning him up as she cleaned herself up and put his clothes in the washer and dryer as she was done she stared at the clock, it was eight in the morning and she had an errand to run, and she couldn’t be late. So she laid his outfit at the end of the couch, and left him breakfast.
Before she headed out, the snores of the vigilante were the last thing she heard before she walked towards the soup kitchen she volunteered at.
This was the weirdest night she’d ever had, and she was glad and sad it was over. But the man was under the influence and she did it to help him, there was no way someone like him could ever be interested in someone like her. Minnie was just a whore and no one would ever be interested in a whore. That was something that was ingrained in her mind.
She just hoped she never ran into him, and that he had been too much in pain to really look at her. She would go about her life like it never happened. Because if she was being honest he was like a client, one quick fuck and they were out of her mind. Sad that she didn’t get paid for this one.
She helped out in the soup kitchen for a couple hours before heading home for lunch and to sleep at least a couple hours before she had to go get groceries.
By the time she got home at noon, just like she had expected, no one was there, and she was relieved.
The least interactions she had with the vigilantes, the better.
“Thank god that’s over with” Minnie muttered as she laid on her bed.
“That’s behind us, now I can go back to my normal life” She muttered as she closed her eyes.
Now thinking back to it Minnie would have slapped herself. Because as it turned out, her life was anything but normal.
Chapter 2
Summary:
This like the Nightwing thing, would soon be forgotten.
Oh how wrong she was.
Chapter Text
Minnie grew up in crime alley so she was no stranger to the horrors that occurred in the city, she carried pepper spray and a mask just in case Scarecrow did something.
She also knew a couple moves in order to protect herself.
So she was no stranger to that.
And being a street worker she was no stranger to random men trying to take her home or to try to get in her pants without her consent.
Usually she looked out for the other girls to make sure they were okay, and helped them out if they needed anything. At times she usually took the more intense customers just to make sure that they were all safe, but she didn’t quite befriend the girls, she did it in the background, she didn’t want to get too attached.
It had been about two days after the whole Nightwing incident, and she had forgotten about it, and went back to work.
She always went for short skirts and a cute bra. And some net legging, always upping up the innocent factor these pervs always liked. When she had first started out she had been uncomfortable with the idea of revealing clothing, but after a while she was comfortable, of course she preferred to be covered, head to toe, and not to be gawked at in her every day life when she wasn’t working, so she made a distinction between her nightlife and her normal day. Even though they tended to overlap a lot.
This time she had gone with a leather miniskirt and a cute black bra with a sheer white t-shirt, her hair styled in moonbuns. And her makeup sparkling.
Aside from the streets sometimes she worked at the strip club and did personal dances for people or worked as a server for a local restaurant where she was known as meek and her night life was hidden.
She’d just gotten to where she worked for the night, saying hello to the other girls as they nodded at her and went back to their group. The other girls had a group where they helped each other out, she tried not to get too involved, resolving to take more intense customers from them.
After she greeted them she walked towards her corner, she was a bit further and more into the alley than the others and she knew it was dangerous, but she had an exit plan if something went south.
As she walked there she heard a groan which caused her to stop in the alley.
She hesitated a bit and was about to ignore it and go along her night, until she heard the groan again, like someone was in pain and in trouble. And against her better judgment she walked into the dark alley, and yeah she knew it was a stupid move, but like she had mentioned, she was an empathetic person. She didn’t want to think about the fact that if she ignored it a person would probably die if she didn’t help.
So her heels clicked on the gravely pavement as she tightened her grip on her bag, slowly walking in.
She didn’t take long for walking when was snatched by a figure that was hiding and covering themselves on the trash bin there, and all she could think was fuck as she was roughly slammed into the wall.
“Shit” She said, which seemed to alert whoever grabbed her, their grip on her loosening.
And she was about to have at them when she heard their pained groans which got her alert.
She was able to get out of their grip and observe them, they were young, a couple years older than her, but in his early twenties, with dark black hair and a white streak. They wore armor and a jacket. And combat pants, they were big, bigger than her and she would have been intimidated if it weren’t for the fact that they clutched their abdomen like they’ve been shot.
She was about to ask him if he was okay when he tensed up and she too when she heard the footsteps of many people shouting and coming from the opposite end of the alley and towards the one they were in.
It was clear that they were not good people, and all Minnie could infer was that they were the ones that hurt the male in front of her.
“Find him! He shouldn’t be too far” One of the men yelled as they came closer, and the male in front of her tensed, ready for an attack, but given the footsteps and how hurt he looked she didn’t think he would win, he was hurt.
She also did not want to get in a dispute with men or to get hurt.
So maybe Minnie should think things through before acting upon it, but the only thing that she could think about is to shield the man who looked like he was going to keel over any time now, and sure she could leave, but then she would feel bad for leaving them there to their devices.
So she looked him into his eyes and said. “Trust me” before messing her hair a bit and her lipstick, putting her arms up and around his neck but not before putting his hands around her waist, and she looked and felt so small against him, as she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him, just in time for the men to come by.
“What the hell” One of them shouted as she turned around, a frown on her face as she turned so that his hands were around her waist.
“Can I help you?” She asked, cocking her head as she gave them an innocent look.
The men, because it was a group of men glared at her, the male behind her put his head on her shoulder, his face covered as he gripped her waist.
“Did you see someone run this way?” One of the men demanded as she shook her head as she grabbed the males hand and made soothing motions.
“Nope,” She said as she gave them an expectant look. “But you could ask the girls down the street” She said pointing at the end of the alley, she knew she should have been scared to be in front of men who clearly had knives and guns and could probably kill her or something.
But she gave them a confident look as they narrowed their eyes at her.
“I was kind of hoping to have a private moment with him” She said, patting the male who was behind her as he made the show of rubbing her waist as she shivered.
“So if you could,” She motioned for them to go as they glared at her narrowing their eyes, they looked like they were going to argue before turning to each other and one of the men shouted.
“Come on, we must find him!” He shouted as they all began to run away, she didn’t shiver at the look the men gave her, it looked predatory, and she was used to it as she gave them a smile as she made the motion to go back to kiss tha male, and she did that, hearing the footsteps getting farther and farther away, and until they were soft did she finally step back from the male. Her shirt, a bit dirty with blood.
Once she did so she let out the breath she didn’t know she was holding.
“Thank fuck they’re gone” She said as she fixed her hair before turning to the male who was looking at her and she frowned at him, he looked worse for wear.
“Sorry,” She started as he stared at her and she continued. “For the non consensual kiss, I didn’t know what else to do” She said running a hand through her hair. She needed to reapply her lipstick and should probably get to work, but the male looked like he was going to faint any minute now, so she sighed making up her mind.
“Hey,” She said turning to him as his eyes clashed into hers.
“We’ve got to care for that before it gets worse” She said as she frowned looking at him as he clutched his abdomen. “I don’t have a first aid kit, but my home is not far and I have a first aid kit” And yeah maybe Minnie was an idiot for inviting a random man into her home, but she figured if he was as bad as he looked she could take him.
“Come on” She didn’t wait for him to say anything as she grabbed his arm, and helped him towards her apartment.
It was a fifteen minute walk, she got cat called many times but she ignored it, and the hardest part was going up the stairs, thankfully everyone else was either asleep or they just didn’t give a fuck as she fiddled with her keys opening the door, and closing it as she help sit the male down. He groaned as he sat down and she apologized to him.
“Sorry, I’ll be back, I think I have extra clothing” She said as she went into her room and into the bathroom gathering the first aid kit and some t-shirt, xxl t-shirts she got that she used as dresses at times to go to sleep.
She got out and headed towards the male who regarded her with calculated eyes.
“Would you like me to dress up your wound or, do you want to do it?” She gave him the option, and after a very long staring contest all he did was nod motioning her over as she nodded as she kneeled down and went to work, lifting his shirt and wincing at the wound.
The male was ripped she didn’t doubt that he looked like he worked out, but she didn’t focus on that as she began to dig the bullet out causing the male to wince in pain, and it was too quiet for her so she began to speak. It had begun to rain hard and she was glad she wasn’t out working, she hated when it rained.
“I took an EMT class a while back, thankfully they showed us how to treat bullet wounds, but it’s hard to continue classes here in Gotham, I mean I wish there were free classes so that you could learn to treat yourself, but no, everything needs money, and I don’t have much” She said motioning to her house, it wasn’t bad, but it was bare.
“Lucky for you I passed with flying colors” She joked as she focused on the wound, fishing out the bullet and she began to clean the wound, getting ready to stitch it up.
“I also wanted to take a self defense class, and I did but I stopped going because I couldn’t afford it but it was a nice class you know” She continued to talk, fully aware of the stare the male was giving her but she was focused on her work.
She finished stitching him up, standing up, popping her back and groaning in content.
“Here” She said, handing him some pain pills and some water as she watched him eye them before taking them as she nodded satisfied as she handed him the shirt.
“It’s late but you need something to eat, we learned that you should try to eat something to gain some energy back, give me a couple minutes as I whip something up” She said once again not waiting for him to respond as she went to her kitchen and started to rummage her fridge, she began to make them some sandwiches, and heated some left over pizza, and began to make some hot chocolate and cutting some fruit up.
She finished the sandwiches and got the pizza out of the microwave. The chocolate still heating up as she grabbed bottles of water and went into the living room where the male had changed shirts and was now standing up observing her home.
“I don’t have much, but I hope you like it, I have hot chocolate on the stove so give it a couple minutes, here” She set the plates in front of the male as she set hers down and she sat down on the couch opposite of his.
“Sit down, you need to rest” She said giving him a look and he stared at her before sitting down and grabbing the food hesitantly as he saw her take a bite of hers and he took a bite of his. She smiled a bit.
“See it’s fine” She said as she stood up. “Let me get the hot chocolate” She said as she served the both of them and handed him his to which he took hesitantly.
He took a hesitant sip.
And after a couple awkward silent seconds he spoke for the first time. His voice gruff.
“It’s good” He said as her eyes widened and she nodded.
“Right? It’s so good. I’m glad you like it” And she was sincere.
He nodded and after a couple more silent seconds he spoke again.
“Do you make it a habit in bringing random men home?” He asked causing her to turn to him raising an eyebrow.
“Of course not, I don’t. I just thought you looked like you would keel over and die, and the nearest clinic, Leslie’s is miles from here. Besides” She spoke taking a sip. “If you wanted to hurt me, you would have when you grabbed me from the alley, and you didn’t, you looked apologetic and your eyes were sorry. So I figure you’re not going to hurt me” She said shrugging as he gave her an incredulous look.
“You’re way too trusting” he said as she snorted.
“Not really, then there was also the fact that you were shot, I figured I could get away if you did try something” She said as he stared at her and after a couple seconds he chuckled causing her to smile.
They ate in silence for a couple minutes before they were done and she picked up the plates taking them to the kitchen to wash them.
When she was done she returned to the living room seeing the young male glance at the window, it was getting worse outside.
“You are in no position to be out, you can stay. Take the couch” She said already going to her room and grabbing an extra pair of sheets.
She came out and handed it to him.
“You know I could be a murderer” He asked her incredulous as she looked him in the eyes.
“Then I am the dumbass who let a murderer in, it’s late and it’s horrible outside. If you do decide to murder me in my sleep I’ll haunt your ass” She said joking as he grabbed the sheets.
“I’m tired, good night” She said, yawning as she went to her bedroom, changing out of her clothes.
Not really caring about the young male. She heard a soft goodnight. And someone settled down on her couch with a smile on her face.
She locked her room just in case.
She surprisingly had a good night's rest.
When she woke up, she found that her sheet was folded on her couch and a note was on it.
A big ‘thank you’ was on it as she snorted a bit, putting it in her drawer as she began to get her breakfast ready.
She really needed to stop getting involved in things that didn’t pertain her.
But at least she saved someone last night.
She sighed drinking a cup of coffee.
She had a lot of work up ahead.
This like the Nightwing thing, would soon be forgotten.
Oh how wrong she was.
Chapter 3
Summary:
She really was having a bizarre month.
Chapter Text
It was three days after the incident with the guy that was bleeding and she patched up in her apartment that the next incident occurred, she’d been walking home from a night dancing, tired and hungry, and cold.
Even if she wanted to wear more layers, it was against the policy so she couldn’t or she would be fired or reprimanded. And she couldn’t afford that, at least not yet.
So there she was, walking alone, with a mini skirt on and a shirt that barely covered her chest. And a cardigan that was so thin and small it barely did anything, her bag in hand and her heels in her other. She didn’t want to walk home barefoot, and it was dangerous, but what could she do?
She was walking down this alley, hoping to just get home and to sleep because she had a morning shift in a couple hours at the restaurant she worked at.
But of course the universe did not want her to sleep or to rest because as she passed a particular dumpster she heard the sound of what sounded like a grapple gun (spend time in a city of vigilantes and you can distinguish certain things) and a figure just completely eating it and falling down into the garbage container with a loud thud and a groan , causing her to stop dead in her tracks.
And yeah, she should have left it alone. She should have just left and gone home, let it go. But no, she wasn’t like that. She was tired and her emotions were not too in check, so she quickly went towards the garbage they had fallen on.
She had to go on her tiptoes in order to look into it, and it was clear to see which vigilante it was. Red Robin.
He looked to be about her age or a bit older, she couldn’t tell with the mask and all. He looked like shit, and his face, or the part she could see looked like it was in pain.
But she was too short to check to see if he was alright.
“Red Robin” She asked him, lighting slapping his cheek causing him to groan.
She’d seen his reaction time on T.V, and given he wasn’t moving aside from the painful groan he was emitting, he was fucked up.
“Open your eyes, it’s not good to sleep” She said as she looked him over, and the color drained from her face as she recognized the blood coming out of his stomach.
What was it with them always getting stabbed? So he was stabbed and probably had a concussion which meant that he needed to be treated quickly.
And sure she could have just left him there.
But her conscience would not allow that.
So with difficulty, she hoisted herself up and into the trash bin, it was big enough, and still not full so it fit the two.
She gagged a bit as her feet touched the trash, but she didn’t say anything as she bent down, her phone out, flashlight on, to analyze the vigilante, and it was worse than she thought.
“Hey,” She tapped him only to hear a groan from him. He was not okay.
“You need serious help, and being here in the trash will not help” She prodded him again and he groaned in pain.
“I’m gonna help you alright? Just please do not fall asleep” She told him as she crouched down.
“It’s gonna hurt but I’m gonna pull you up alright? I’ll get you out of here and stitch you up” Thankfully she wasn’t that far from her home, just like a couple minutes, but that was gonna be hard, lugging someone with her, who was dead weight.
“Come on, work with me here Red” She told him as he opened his eyes and was barely staring at her as she lightly grabbed his waist, being mindful of his cape and hoisting him up.
“Buddie,” She starts, “This is going to suck and hurt like a bitch, but help me please.” And in the next five minutes she feels guilty as the young vigilante groans in pain as he tries his best to be awake as she manhandles him out of the trash bin.
“I don’t know whether I should be glad you’re light, or concerned” She mumbled as she threw an arm around him hoisting him up, him barely awake.
“Just five more minutes Red, and you’ll be in a comfortable place” She said this and apologized to him all the way to her apartment.
Thankfully it was too late for anyone to be awake, or care.
She was able to get into her apartment with no hassle aside from the vigilante bleeding.
She placed him on her couch as she saw him barely awake as she rushed to her bathroom to get the first aid kit, and some towels, she would have changed but that would waste more time, and she didn’t have time.
“I need you to trust me I’m going to patch you up”She said not waiting for his response as she went to work, she had to cut open part of his costume in order for her to address the wound, it was worse than she thought and she was nervous she wasn’t doing it right, but she trudged through as she cleaned him up and stitched him up, putting ointment on everything and checking his eyes to make sure that the concussion wasn’t bad, thankfully she still had pain meds which she fed him, and gave him water, and he looked better, although was still having trouble staying awake, but she knew he was aware now.
While he was there she went to her kitchen and began to heat up some food for him and quickly went to her room, putting on some shorts and a big t-shirt.
When she came out, he was sitting up and staring at the apartment with this analytical look on his face. And she knew that he was confused as to what was going on.
She went to her kitchen pouring a cup of coffee, and grabbing the sandwich she had prepared earlier. And a bottle of water.
“You’re awake” She said with a small but tired smile on her face. She wanted to sleep, and it was late, so late.
“Here, you need this for energy, I’m sorry I cut your uniform off , I needed to in order to assess the wound” She said putting the food on the small table in front of the vigilante.
He stared at her for a second and then the food, and went for the coffee carefully nursing it.
“Who are you?” he said after a while as she looked at him.
“Uh--- Minnie” She said. “I uh saw you fall into the dumpster and I couldn’t leave you there” She said as he stared at her.
After a couple seconds he nodded as he attempted to stand up causing her to go to him, stopping him.
“You’re in no shape to move or to leave,” She said firmly. “A child could push you and you’d be down” She said as she gave him a firm look and he stared at her.
She wasn’t budging.
And she figured he would argue, but as he moved he winced in pain, and she figured he realized she was right.
“Go on, eat the sandwich and I’ll make more, you need all the energy you can get” She said as he stared at her.
“Why did you help me?” He asked after taking a sip of his coffee and she answered.
“Why wouldn’t I?” She said, “The way I see it, you go out every night kick ass, save our sorry asses” She ran a hand through her hair. “We should give back a little” She said as he stared at her for a couple seconds before giving a curt nod and he began to eat the sandwich in silence
He drank the water and ate and she gave him another sandwich as she cleaned her kitchen and she was aware he was looking at her and observing him.
She cleaned up after he was done and she went to her room to get an extra sheet and pillow.
“I’m gonna trust that you’re a vigilante and that you won’t do anything weird. But I have work in literally four hours and I want to try to get some semblance of sleep, and you should too. You can leave after you get some sleep alright?” She said as he stared at her and didn’t say anything and she nodded.
Going into her room and passing out, and yeah it was a bad thing that was going on with her having random men in her apartment but she was too tired.
A couple hours later she was fighting for her life putting pants on and she was going to be late to work.
She dashed out her room, with no shirt on, to get coffee ready, to see the young vigilante passed out in her living room, she checked to make sure he was sleeping and not like dead. Before pouring and making him coffee, and some eggo waffles before rushing to put a shirt.
She quietly bid him goodbye, because she was going to be late for work.
She really was having a bizarre month.
Chapter 4
Summary:
It was one of the starts of the whole ordeal.
Chapter Text
When she had gotten home the vigilante was gone, and she figured that that was it.
That was a week ago. And the week had been pretty decent for her. She had forgotten about them because she had to work and to make ends meet.
It was her day off, from all her jobs and she was ecstatic because she could relax and go where she could enjoy herself.
So she woke up early, took a shower and changed to clothes she liked to wear. A cute flowery maxi skirt, with black boots, and a cute black crop top which allowed her belly piercing to show. She also wore makeup, but more vibrant than she usually did for any of her jobs, with gems on her face. She also figured because it was her first day off in a while she could curl her hair and decorate it too.
She smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror. She knew she wasn’t that pretty, the only reason she even got customers was because men were perverted and she sexualized herself.
But she liked herself, so she thought her outfit was cute, it was for herself and that always made her happy.
She smiled as she put on her glasses, tired of wearing contacts.
She grabbed her bag and keys and headed out.
Living in Crime Alley, you had to be sharp and to survive.
Minnie knew that, which was why she went by three different names. And she was good at disguises. It was how she survived.
Very few people knew her real name, which wasn’t part of the three personas she used.
Her real name was not Minnie. But she’d been Minnie long enough that it stuck.
Char, or Charlotte was the name she went by whenever she was working an ordinary job, a job that was somewhat normal. Like when she cashiered.
Minnie was for when she was just a normal teen going about things, and not involved in anything sketchy.
Cherry/Lily whenever she was in her night job, or she took a sketchy job at the iceberg lounge.
Each of them is extremely different from one another; she might as well be a different person.
It helped her survive. So she continued to do it.
She smiled as she walked down the streets of Gotham, she wanted to get some breakfast, some coffee and relax, maybe go to a bookstore or to an electronic store to whip something new up.
There was a cafe she didn’t go to often but she enjoyed the treats there, it was family owned, so she loved it.
She entered it, and it was packed, maybe because it was the morning and everyone was getting breakfast, but she didn’t mind as she aimlessly scrolled through her phone, and listened to music as she stood in the long line.
It was her day off and she was going to enjoy it to the fullest intent.
She listened to music as the line went up and it was finally her turn as she ordered her usual, a caramel iced coffee and a bacon egg and cheese croissant, and a chocolate chip cookie.
She thanked the cashier, giving her a small smile as she turned to the restaurant to see where she could sit.
She wasn’t a shy person, she couldn’t be, not with the jobs she had, she had to be confident even if sometimes she preferred to be to herself.
So yeah, she wasn’t a shy person.
Most of the tables were full except for one where a young man sat.
He was big, and he was dressed like a sort of biker if she was benign honest, his face was a bit scarred, but she thought it went well with his face.
And he had a frown on his face, but he didn’t seem angry or anything like that.
She’d seen people steer clear of him, and she understood that maybe he was a bit intimidating, but she didn’t get a terrible gut feeling, so she figured why not.
Some people just had a resting bitch face. So she took her chance, besides, the young man was reading a book, and she always liked discussing books. She smiled a bit as she approached his table, and as soon as she neared his table he looked up to meet her eyes, a stern look on his face as she gave him a small smile.
“Hello,” She started, “Would you mind if I sit here?” She asked as he stared at her for a couple seconds and she was starting to become a bit embarrassed, but he nodded at her as she brightened up smiling at him.
“Thank you” She said as she sat down, putting her stuff down and grabbing the book she had brought to read in the cafe.
The young male did not say anything as she slowly ate and read her book. Usually she would like to say that she was alert about her surroundings, but this was her day off, and she was invested in her book.
So she wasn’t that alert and it took her a while to notice that the young male had been staring at her, causing her to look up and give him a small smile.
“Sorry, I get distracted easily,” She said. “Did you need something?” She asked as he stared at her once more before he shook his head causing her to smile more before her eyes landed on his book, it was a classic causing her eyes to widen a bit.
“I absolutely love that one” She started as the young male raised his eyebrow and raised the book in his hand and she nodded. “A while back I was super hyper fixated on classics, and that one was one of my favorites, I even made a collage of it” She said as she grabbed her phone and began to scroll it, not really giving the young male time to even respond as she showed his the collage she had made. He stared at it and she stared at him expectantly, waiting for his reaction. He nodded.
Maybe he wasn’t the talkative type? She knew some people were shy and it was hard for them to speak, so she gave him time, and he hadn't told her no, so she continued to speak.
“I have other collages for the other classes, give me a second” She said excitedly as she scrolled her phone and then showed him as he stared at them and then at her.
“Aren’t they cute?” She asked as she cocked her head and he stared at her and gave her a curt nod as she smiled at him.
“I was hyper fixated on classics for months, and that was a lot of fun, how are you enjoying it?” She asked him. She wanted to try to get a conversation out of him, to slowly get him to be comfortable because maybe he was just shy.
But it was getting a bit awkward that she was the only one talking and the fact that she could feel the stares of the other people as they glanced at her and she could hear the whispers of them saying things like questioning why she sat next to him, but she didn’t mind.
She waited for his answer with a small smile still on her face, and when she thought he wasn’t going to answer, she was about to ask another question that could be answered with a nod.
“It’s nice” His voice was gruff causing her to be a bit surprised but she didn’t show it as she smiled brighter.
“Right? I really enjoyed it” She said as he nodded at her.
“Your collages are nice” he said a bit stiffly as she nodded.
“Thank you, I worked hard on them, there’s always so much symbolism when it comes to classics, that I don’t want to be too on the nose you know?” She asked and he nodded, relaxing a bit, and she relaxed too. She had noticed how tense he had been, which further reiterated that maybe he was just a shy person.
She was about to say something else when she got a message from an encrypted number.
She didn’t open it as she smiled apologetically at the young man.
“Sorry, I have to go, but it was nice conversing with you, I appreciate you letting me sit here, my name’s Minnie” She said going in for a handshake as she stood up, to which he hesitantly grabbed, his hand was huge enveloping hers.
“Jay” He said causing her to smile.
“Pleasure meeting you Jay, have a nice day” She smiled as he nodded.
She’d been so busy for the past few weeks, and she saw a lot of people, usually she was good with faces, so really, she should have recognized him, that was her mistake.
It was one of the starts of the whole ordeal.
Chapter 5
Summary:
She really hated herself.
Chapter Text
Did she sometimes take up risky jobs with mob bosses or just criminals in general as an escort to get information that she sold to the few cops she found reliable, anonymously? Yes, yes she did.
Because she needed to make money, and if she was always in the range of them then she might as well do something out of it.
She didn’t really trust GCPD, but at least the commissioner was something, so she trusted him, not much but it was a bit.
The text was a sort of request for her to get information, whether she would take it, it depends.
She had wanted to continue talking with Jay, he was nice, and sweet, even if he wasn’t much of a talkative person.
He saw her as her, and she didn’t know why but he was a ‘safe’ person. Due to her living the life for so long she knew how to trust her instincts, and usually when it came to men either she got a hard no in her gut an okay, which was tolerable, and very few she felt okay with. And Jay was someone that was okay.
And she enjoyed talking to him, something she didn’t have the pleasure of doing. She didn’t have friends, not people she could invite over to watch movies or to converse, to be normal. To be a normal teenager, she had no friends.
And it was nice to tell someone about her passion for books, and her deep dive in classics. Even if he hadn’t spoken to her much, it had been nice. But she couldn’t stay there, not when she got the message. Especially because that wasn’t the only one she got.
She couldn’t open them, not when eyes were present.
But as it turned out, it wasn’t too important, so she really could have just stayed and talked to Jay, but there was nothing she could do now.
She sighed as she took a last sip of her coffee and threw it to the nearest garbage bin.
Her next stop was the Library.
Where she found comfort, and researched her niche interests.
It was quite far, so she figured it wouldn’t hurt to go to the store and buy herself some toiletries and more for her first aid kit, because she needed to stock up.
She walked into the store, listening to music on her headphones, and just browsing, not really caring about who was there, and things like that.
Sure she could be more alert, you kind of had to be if you lived in Gotham, but the thing about wanting to blend in, is you had to act the part of being a normal person, an unassuming person.
If you appeared to be too alert you would gain someone's attention. And she was certain that everyone was being watched by the cameras.
She was a bit paranoid, but she knew her way around technology, and accidentally tapped into a frequency a while back that freaked her out a bit and just confirmed someone was accessing all the computers.
And it was her day off, the day she really just wanted to relax and not be on the lookout or too tense, she just wanted to enjoy her day.
She grabbed a basket and happily skipped towards the cookie and coffee aisle, she had run out of instant coffee and coffee was her lifeline.
So she had been happily looking over the different types of instant coffee, it was always nice to see the different kinds there were, it took her a while before she settled on two. She put it in her basket as she turned to walk to the toiletries, where she was carefully making sure she got what she needed, and new things, just in case.
She had everything she needed from this grocery store, later she would go clothes shopping to buy new clothes for herself.
She liked shopping, because she could do it herself and it was sort of meditating for her.
She’d been too happy and excited as she rounded the corner to go pay, that she didn’t, or wasn’t aware of the voice rounding the corner. She blamed her loud music and the fact that she often forgot other people existed whenever she shopped.
When she rounded the corner she hadn’t noticed the young male around her age turning too, and she slammed into him, the surprise was what got her as she landed on her but, her basket scattering. How someone who looked pretty lean was so strong it was a wonder.
She landed in an omph, looking up, a frown on her face, apologizing. “Sorry” She mumbled out as she looked up.
It was a young male, around her age, with black hair and blue eyes. He was pale, and he looked like he wanted to blend in with his worn out clothes and things like that. But she knew that he was anything but broke.
There was an air to him that told her that he was of money or well off. And it wasn’t like she didn’t think the guy didn’t suffer or had his demons, there was just a feeling of knowing, knowing when another person had to do everything to survive every day. And he wasn’t like that. She figured that that was maybe why she had felt almost comfortable around Jay and why she approached him despite the fact many had been avoiding him.
He felt familiar in that sense.
She noticed how he looked at her, a look of recognition passing through his face, but it was quick, that she almost didn’t notice it as he spoke.
“Are you alright?” He asked as he offered her a hand as she hesitantly grabbed it and he pulled her up with ease, he was strong.
“Uh, thank you” She said sheepishly as she bent down to grab her things, noticing the young make was doing the same, causing her to give him a shy smile nodding.
“Thank you, I’m sorry for bumping into you”She said as she grabbed the last of the bandages. “I wasn’t aware of my surroundings.” She sheepishly explained as the young male smiled at her, but she figured he didn’t do that much as it looked like a small grimace, btu it was a nice smile.
“No problem” He said and she was right, the accent, it was an attempt at a crime alley one but it was different.
She smiled at him before heading towards the check out line. This was truly the most she’d interacted with normal people in a while.
Apparently the young male only needed instant coffee as he was quick and was behind her in line.
“You hurt or something?” He asked startling her a bit as she turned back to him, before realizing he was looking at all the pain meds, and first aid kit essentials she had in her basket.
She frowned, shaking her head.
“Oh, no, um I’m just stocking up, just in case, you never know, it’s Gotham” She shrugged, which was true, not the whole truth. But she wasn’t going to mention that the reason she was low on the supply was because she was a dumbass.
“Oh” he said as she nodded giving him a small smile, before she noticed the brand of coffee he got, it was the same one she did.
“Do you just have it straight black or with modifications?” She asked and it didn’t take long for him to realize she was talking about coffee as he looked at her for a second before answering.
“Depends on the day really” He said and she nodded sympathetically.
“I can tell” She said pointing at his eyebags as he nodded sheepishly.
“I’m Tim” He said as she smiled at him and stretched her hand out for a handshake which he shook, which further cemented the fact that he was from money, it was too formal.
“Minnie” She smiled as he nodded. He was about to say something before it was her turn to pay, and he was quiet, once she was done she turned back to him smiling.
“Have a nice day Tim, take care” She said as she headed out. Not noticing how the young male followed her out, and paid.
She figured she could make a stop at the bank to get some things out of the ATM, it wasn’t the first time she did that, and if she was going to buy clothes, she needed it.
What she didn’t expect though, was that while walking towards the bank, only a few feet away, for Signal, the day time vigilante, to be thrown out, shattering the window, and denting a nearby car.
And Signal was the only daytime vigilante and he was apart of the community, you could tell front he inflections in his speech, so really it was more because he was part of the community than anything that she rush towards him.
She really hated herself.
Chapter 6
Summary:
She just wanted to enjoy the text books and take notes. The day was just weird in general, she had a feeling it wasn’t going to be any less weird in the night, she just needed to buy clothes and she could get a couple hours of sleep before going to work.
Chapter Text
Her version of helping was her diving right after the daylight vigilante who was her age, she was certain. And blocking him from view of what was going on.
The young male was groaning as she went towards him, he looked pretty beat up , and she could tell he was bleeding a bit from his stomach, causing her eyes to widen as she began to out pressure on it, surprising the young vigilante who stood up quickly, his defenses up.
“Hey, it’s alright, I know it’s weird and strange, but I’m here to help” She said not giving him much time as she used what she had just bought to clean the wound, quickly and began to wrap it up.
“You’re going to be okay” she muttered as she didn’t look at him, her hands stained with blood but she did not care.
“You’ll be okay” She repeated as all around her there were screams of civilians. “There, you got this Signal” She said, pulling him up as he stared at her.
“Go kick ass” She said as he headed back to the bank but not before seeing as she ducked behind a car, observing the scene.
With new found motivation it didn’t take long for him to subdue the target and someone had called the cops who had meta restraints.
Minnie had called the cops.
She observed as the young vigilante talked with the police and talked to the hostages, making sure that everything was well, and once she saw that he was okay, she slipped back and began to slowly make her way home.
She had said that she did not want to be involved with them but somehow she still kept getting involved, what was wrong with her?
Apparently, Signal had other plans because Minnie had gone into another cafe in order to wash her hands, and to just get two cookies, she always got hungry when she got stressed, she still had things to do, but she needed to drop her things home before continuing her day, she still had to go buy clothes.
As soon as she began to walk away, and near an alley, it took everything in her not to shout in surprise when the yellow clad vigilante dropped down in front of her.
“What the actual fuck” She muttered as her eyes widened before reflexively whacking him.
“Ow” Signal said as she gave him a look.
“Don’t sneak up on people” She said, her accent coming in thick. “Thought you were going to murder me” She grumbled as he stared at her and she shook her head.
“Sorry” he said, causing her to huff.
“What do you want?” She asked skeptically as she put her hands on her hips.
“I just wanted to make sure you were okay” he said a bit nervously as she cocked her head.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” She asked raising an eyebrow. “You need to rest, you were just hurt, and the guy from the bank did a number on you” She said frowning at his bandaged side.
“You didn’t open the wound did you?” She asked, not really giving him time to answer. “Do you need me to bandage it? The cut didn’t seem that deep, but maybe I miscalculated” She frowned as she observed his side.
He cleared his throat causing her to look up to him a bit surprised, blushing a bit in embarrassment.
“Sorry” She muttered as he shook his head.
“I’m fine, I just wanted to make sure you were okay” He said as she nodded.
“I’m fine,” She said as he narrowed his eyes at her.
“It’s not every day a civilian comes to our help” he said and the other statement was left unsaid, he was referring to the part of town they had been in, it was where most of the high end people were. And they were a bit entitled.
She snorted. “Yeah well I wasn’t about to let you, our only day time vigilante to bleed out, and our people have to look after one another don’t ya think?” She made her accent thicker, it was like code switching.
“Thanks” He said as she smiled brightly at him.
“No problem” She said as she handed him one of the bags with one of the cookies she bought.
“Now go get yourself checked out, I don’t trust my bandaging” She said leaving him stunned as she began to walk away. Not noticing as he observed her going away, a small blush on his face.
-----
She dropped her bags in her apartment before taking a quick shower and changing.
Now wearing shorts and a crop top, before heading towards the library, after that she would go buy clothes, but she just wanted to relax and read.
Gotham Public Library was weird.
Or rather one of the librarians was a bit weird, and no it wasn’t because she was in a wheelchair, that would make her ableist and she was not ableist, no, it was the fact that she had a feeling like there was more to her than met the eye so she was always wary whenever she went there and the red headed librarian was there.
And she was so pretty too. It intimidated her a bit.
But she didn’t care for it this time as she entered the library, a pep in her step as she made an automatic beeline towards the science and tech section.
She just needed to learn a couple of things to make her side business flourish more.
And yeah she knew how weird of a dynamic it was. That to many she did not look smart, many didn’t think she was smart.
And many of her clients often thought she was just a doll with no brain.
It was very demeaning, but it worked and got her more money, so it didn’t matter.
She smiled as she got the book she wanted excited to read it as she grabbed more books, she would make the most of her day off.
She had a stack of books that blocked her view but she knew the library very well and she was confident in her ability to navigate it.
Which again was her downfall because she didn’t think there would be another person looking at textbooks like her, so she didn’t notice the person in front of her as she practically slammed into them, her textbooks flying as she tried to grab them as she hit the floor, cradling them protectively.
“Fuck” She grumbled, her eyes were closed, the fall was harder than the one earlier so her glasses fell to the floor with a clang.
So when she opened her eyes to a voice asking her if she was alright, all she saw was a blurry figure.
“I’m fine” She said, squinting as she saw a hand offering to pull her up which she did.
“thanks “ She said squinting as she looked down on the floor for her glasses.
“Here” The male said, it was a nice voice handed her her glasses causing her to say thanks as she put them on.
“Thank you, without these I can’t see shit” She muttered, before looking up at the person who helped her.
It was a fairly attractive male, with black hair and blue eyes, he looked familiar, maybe she’d seen him somewhere, he was attractive so he could be a model.
But it didn’t matter.
“Sorry for bumping into you” She said as she began to walk towards her normal table and set her books down as the male followed her.
“That’s a lot” He said pointing at the text books and she looked at them and shrugged.
“It’s not bad once you get in the zone” She said smiling at him before sitting down and opening one of the textbooks, and sure enough she got into the zone that she didn’t even notice how the male kept looking at her with a look like he was trying to figure something out before he bid the redhead goodbye.
She just wanted to enjoy the text books and take notes. The day was just weird in general, she had a feeling it wasn’t going to be any less weird in the night, she just needed to buy clothes and she could get a couple hours of sleep before going to work.
Chapter 7
Summary:
At least now he had a face to the moans and voice, and she was pretty.
Chapter Text
About two weeks ago, Dick had a run in with Poison Ivy, he didn’t think he needed back up, there were goons who had been inciting panic that his siblings were taking care of and man eating plants. So he didn’t ask for backup because she had been pretty tame as of recent. But it seemed that someone had gone and pissed her off to the point that she had started producing Sex Pollen once more.
Of course at the time Dick did not know that that was what he had been sprayed him, not until he knocked her out, and he began to suffer the consequences as he was heading to a safe house.
Sex Pollen was a terrible and terrifying pollen. It was basically a fuck or die sort of thing, or ride out the effects with an effective orgasm.
It led to people dying if they didn’t get the release necessary. And if the wrong people were sprayed they raped other people.
Or it was sometimes used on human trafficking victims, it was something that they all hated, and unfortunately they hadn’t gotten a solid cure or antidote.
And he had been feeling like his body was on fire.
So he figured he had to ride it out himself. It would suck, but he had to.
So he slipped into an abandoned home, and had been ready to take care of himself.
He opened the window to the apartment groaning. And it took a few seconds for him to realize he was not alone because of the small steps and as he lifted his hazy eyes he barely saw someone raising a bat, but it was blurry, and everything hurt.
He shivered in pain.
He shouldn’t be there, he should leave, he could be dangerous to the civilian, or they could take advantage of him, so he had made an attempt to turn back but everything hurt causing him to groan out in pain and he heard them drop the bat.
And he saw them trying to telegraph their movement, but everything was hazy so he couldn’t quite tell.
“Hey” The voice was soft and feminine, the person was a woman, which meant, he needed to leave. “Are you alright? Do you need first aid? I have an aid in the sink, where are you hurt?” His brain was scrambled and everything hurt but he was able to decipher her asking him if he needed help.
There was genuine concern on her tone of voice, and he didn’t know how to feel about that. He had randomly popped into her home and usually people got mad at them when they accidentally did that, but she had somehow figured he was in pain.
He figured that his expression gave it away, he was usually good at schooling his expression especially when he was in pain.
He didn’t say anything as he kneeled down, it hurt so much, and it took everything in him not to pleasure himself right then and there.
When he groaned in pain he heard her rush towards him, touching his forehead as she was taking his temperature.
When she did this he shivered and regretfully gave out a moan, the contact, he needed contact, but he couldn’t.
“Nightwing” The soft voice said once more. He didn’t respond, before she touched his shoulder and all he could do is moan and groan in pain and the touch. He tried his best not to move he needed to do something but he couldn’t.
She didn’t say anything but he could feel her stare as she kneeled in front of him, hand on his chest. And all he could do was groan in pain and moan in agony.Causing her to startle as the warmth of her hand on his chest left. It was embarrassing. He should have called in when he was sprayed, he should be home, in the Manor, there were toys he could use to make it all feel better.
She mumbled something but he couldn’t hear her, before she approached him once more and she spoke.
“Hey Nightwing,” She spoke causing him to turn to her barely awake. “I know what this is, I know it hurts” She said but it was all blurry, he needed to leave. But he was too pained and weak to move. If he didn’t do something he could die.
“I can help” Was not what he had expected to head. “If you don’t get help you will die” She said and he knew that, of course he knew that. He was about to say something when she grabbed his face, causing him to almost moan once more at the contact.
“You’re drugged up on sex pollen” It was like she was given a report, her voice was professional. “I can help relieve the pain, I just need your consent” He heard her. It was strange, usually people wouldn’t ask for consent, sure there were good people out there, but he was a vigilante he knew more than not that some people were cruel and would jump at the idea of sleeping with him, consensual or not. But here he was and the young woman was asking him for his consent, all he could make of her were her soft brown eyes.
“You have mine” She said, so she knew that sometimes they had no choice in their facilities, she was asking him for his consent and giving it to him.
“If you don’t want to, say something, please” She said almost pleading. He didn’t answer for a couple of seconds as she sighed. He saw her about to turn away, and everything was too much, he needed help, he needed it. So with his mushed up mind he decided what the hell. He grabbed her wrist and tugged her to him, as he hungrily found her lips and kissed her, relaxing a bit at the contact, he didn’t feel like he was burning up alive too much. He could tell that she startled a bit and he was about to pull away, but didn’t have to when he was being kissed back with the same ferocity, and Dick’s kissed people before, he wasn’t a virgin nor was he vanilla, and maybe it was the pollen, but the kiss sent a bolt of electricity through his body, it was like he was the one who was inexperienced as she kissed him, causing him to moan in pleasure as his tongue slipped in her mouth as he wanted to taste her, she didn’t seem put of by that, usually sometimes people were.
The kiss was long and he had practice so it was long before he let go and she took a breath of air.
He didn’t waste any time as he grabbed her, her waist fitting perfectly on his hand as he laid her down, still in daze as he kissed her neck, as his hands traveled down her legs. She only had a shirt on, and it only covered some of her legs. He noticed she didn’t have a bra on, and no shorts. Or pants.
His fingers traveled down her leg as she shivered underneath him, as he continued to kiss her with vigor. He wanted to taste everything of her. He didn’t know why. But he needed to.
It didn’t take long before he started to finger her as she shivered underneath him and tried to tone down her moaning.
He wanted to make her feel good, with her moans he knew he would cum at any second. He struggled a bit when he felt her push him back a bit, he whined. But that was cut off when she straddled him, her on top of his erection causing him to moan.
He saw her or a blurry version of her take off her shirt, leaving her naked on top of him, and he had to stop himself. Before he told him to take of his suit and while normally he would hesitate, he did not. He kept his mask on, not like that did much, he was naked.
He didn’t hesitate as he kissed her, flipping her over, her now below him, spreading her legs as he stared down at her, the only thing he could see were her eyes.
“Do it” Was all he needed as he finished kissing her as he began to fuck her. After that it was just a cloud of lust, and moans as he fucked her and she moaned, straddling his cock as she rode him, and at one point gave him a blow job. The pain subsiding as he came and was just filled with lust. He knew he wasn’t vanilla or inexperienced, but it was a whole nother level. She kept up with him and it was like she knew exactly how to make him feel good.
They went on for hours, and all he remembers was that he came, tired, on the couch. Falling asleep with her naked body in front of him, a hand wrapped around her petite waist.
He slept for a couple hours before he woke up, refreshed, and a bit confused before he remembered what happened, he was a bit embarrassed.
His mind was clear as he looked around the apartment, it was a nice cozy apartment, a bit minimalistic. He had been tucked in by a sheet, and his suit, which was cleaned and dried was folded on the table next to him, his mask still on him. He quickly changed.
And there was breakfast laid out for him.
She had washed his suit and made him breakfast.
He had wanted to check out the apartment as he ate the breakfast which was good, but the apartment had no photos, and before he could snoop more, he looked at the clock and realized he was late.
So he cursed a bit as he headed to the Manor, where Bruce needed him.
That had been two weeks ago, he had tried to go back, a couple days later to check up on her and to apologize or thank her, but when he went into the apartment, everything was gone.
She had moved.
And he didn’t even have a name or an appearance to go by in order to track her down, because she paid in cash and the guy who rented the apartments didn’t really ID people.
So for two weeks he had her in his mind.
Thinking about her.
He was grateful for her. He wanted to tell her that, but he had come up with zilch.
He had gone to the Library to hang out with Barbara, she was a good friend, and they had dated for a while but realized being friends was better for the two.
They had chatted for a bit but she had gotten busy, so he did what he always did, roam the Library and down the aisles.
In hindsight he should have said something as he stared at the section he accidentally had stopped in something about technology or something but he was zoned out, from his peripheral he saw stacks of books coming at him, someone who was walking with them, and he should have said something because he couldn’t see their face, so they probably couldn’t see where they were going, and he should have stepped away or warned them that he was in front of them but he didn’t as they clashed into him, text books flying as the person managed to grab a few cradling them as they hit the floor, and their glasses fell too.
“Fuck” they grumbled as he looked sheepish, he asked her if she was alright, as he stood in front of her as she narrowed her eyes squinting.
“I’m fine” She said softly, he couldn’t quite hear her but he could guess. As she grabbed his hand and he pulled her up.
She mumbled a thanks as she looked for her glasses and he felt bad as he handed them to her.
When she put them on, he was able to see her clearer.
She was a pretty young girl, probably in her late teens, with light brown hair that was long and framed her face, it was a bit fuzzy. She had nice brown eyes, and her skin was tan and clear. She wore some booty shorts and a crop top that made a belly button noticeable. She was petite.
She was a foot smaller than him, so she had to look up to him, and he didn’t know why but it was like he knew her but maybe it was one of those things where he’d seen her on the subway or something.
She picked up her textbooks which were all science and tech, and he was certain they were heavy, but she didn’t seem to mind.
“Thank you, without these I can’t see shit” It was when she made eye contact with his blue eyes and that voice, that tone, that he felt electricity coursing through his body. He knew that voice.
It was the voice that belonged to the person that had asked for his consent, it was the voice of the person who had helped him out when he was doused with Sex pollen, it was the voice of the person that moaned under him.
It was the voice of the person that he had been having wet dreams about, but it had just been a distorted image of them.
But here they were.
And they were beautiful.
She was beautiful.
She didn’t seem to recognize him, because of course not, it had been dark, and his mask was on.
There was no recognition behind those eyes.
She wasn’t aware of him raking his eyes down her well kept body.
“Sorry for bumping into you” She said sheepishly as she began to walk to a table, and he couldn’t help but follow her as she set the books down.
“That’s a lot” Was all he could muster as he pointed at the textbooks as she shrugged.
“It’s not bad once you get in the zone” she smiled at him, and he cataloged it in his mind.
She sat down and opened a textbook and sure enough she became invested she forgot about him as he stared at her, drinking in her appearance.
He found her, he knew what she looked like, and all he needed was to get her name.
He hadn’t told anyone about the encounter, he didn’t want anyone putting their nose in his business.
But at least he knew what she looked like, and it was confirmed she was still in Gotham, that was more than he had a couple hours ago, and he’d been able to find someone with less, took longer but he was able to.
He needed to know more about her, and he needed to thank her.
He bid Barbara goodbye as he settled for following her from the library.
He wasn’t a bat for nothing and besides he didn’t have much to do for now.
At least now he had a face to the moans and voice, and she was pretty.
Chapter 8
Summary:
She was a nerd.
And she lived near there.
Which was more than he had had.
Chapter Text
Jason had been having an awful week.
He’d been trying to figure out who was trying to sell drugs to the kids in Crime Alley, but it was being difficult to find any information.
And it was frustrating him.
Earlier in the week he had been involved in a shoot out and had been hit.
It had been a careless mistake. Which had landed him in an alley, bleeding and with only his black mask to cover his face.
His helmet had been blown up, which meant he had to make another one.
It was late in the night, and he’d been running away from goons, who were more trained than he had given them credit for.
And he had not expected for a civilian to come by. Especially after he had let out a groan of pain. When he tensed up when he had heard heels clicking.
A figure walking by, and Jason’s instincts were on the over drive as they grabbed the figure and roughly slammed them to the wall.
And it was when he heard the quiet ‘shit’ that he let her go.
He got a quick look at them.
And it was a working girl he didn’t recognize, sure he didn’t know all of them. But this one looked quite young And the first thing he noticed was how pretty she was.
She had on a leather mini skirt and a white t-shirt that was sheer as he could see her black lace bra. She had her hair in space buns and her face was filled with glitter makeup to sell an innocent look.
But he could tell that she was anything but that as as soon as he slammed her to the wall her eyes had hardened and she had put her fist up ready to clock him.
But before he could do or say anything he had groaned in pain again.
She had asked him if he was okay, even though he had just hurt her.
And then the goons came yelling for him and all he could think about was to keep the civilian safe.
But before he could say or do anything all she said was trust me before she wrapped his arms around her waist as she stood on her tip toes and kissed him. Just when the goons came in, obscuring him from them.
The interaction was weird, and she was so much more smaller and petite than him. But she stood her ground as she lied to them about the two being together, like he was a client.
She made convincing moves and they bought it, leaving the two alone.
And then she apologized for kissing him without his consent.
Which surprised him.
Apparently she did not recognize him, and yeah it was dark, and he guessed by the way she was squinting, she couldn’t see well.
And then one thing led to another, and after a fifteen minute walk she had taken him to her apartment where she patched him up.
She was a talkative person, talking and talking about this and that, which was in order to keep him awake, so he saluted her for that. She knew what she was doing.
And after patching him up she offered him food, and hot chocolate. And when he attempted in leaving she had firmly told him no.
And left him to sleep on the couch.
She was way too damn trusting.
He slept like a baby on that damn couch.
He woke up early and left a thank you note for her.
He’d been too busy with the drug thing happening that he hadn’t had time to check up on her.
And when he had tried to go back to the apartment. She had moved.
And he didn’t see her in the streets.
That was until he had been sitting in a cafe, enjoying a book.
And people were giving him a wide berth.
He knew he was intimidating, and his scars scared people away, which was why he didn’t go out in public much.
The cafe wasn’t one he frequented often but this time he felt like he needed some time, so he went in and it was packed. He sat at a table and was undisturbed.
It was laughable how far people steered clear of him.
He had been sitting there reading a book when he was approached.
Causing him to look up and a look of recognition passed him.
There in front of him giving him a soft smile, was the young woman from the other night.
Now wearing a flowery maxi skirt, with black boots, and a cute black crop top which allowed a belly piercing to show.
And she wore soft make up.
He wouldn’t have recognized her if it wasn’t for her eyes, which now had glasses.
So he had been right, she had been partly blind.
“Hello,” She started, “Would you mind if I sit here?” She asked as he stared at her for a couple seconds before nodding at her causing her to smile brightly at him which confused him a bit, no one smiled that much around him.
She thanked him as she sat down and pulled out a book.
He observed her as she became immersed in the novel, her expressions vibrant.
It was a classic.
After a couple minutes she noticed him.
Her face spreading in a huge smile as she talked animatedly. He nodded. He was interested in what she wanted to talk about.
“I have other collages for the other classes, give me a second” She said excitedly as she scrolled her phone and then showed him as he stared at them and then at her. The collages were very detailed oriented, like she took time making them and she looked so passionate about it.
“Aren’t they cute?” She asked as she cocked her head and he stared at her and gave her a curt nod as she smiled at him.
“I was hyper fixated on classics for months, and that was a lot of fun, how are you enjoying it?” She asked him.
She continued talking to him even though he just nodded or gave her looks, but she didn’t seem bothered by it.
She looked like she was about to say something when she got a message that caused her shoulders to sag.
“Sorry, I have to go, but it was nice conversing with you, I appreciate you letting me sit here, my name’s Minnie” She said going in for a handshake as she stood up, to which he hesitantly grabbed, his hand was huge enveloping hers.
“Jay” He said, causing her to smile.
“Pleasure meeting you Jay, have a nice day” She smiled as he nodded before she headed out.
He had been a bit surprised finding her here, with more clothes on than last time, that he barely realized, he never got her name.
But at least now he knew two things.
She was a nerd.
And she lived near there.
Which was more than he had had.
Chapter 9: Chance encounters
Chapter Text
Tim was having a month.
A week ago he had landed in a dumpster because he had been so hurt his grapple gun missed and he was groaning in a dumpster, feeling like trash.
And he wanted to just lay there in embarrassment and because he was tired and hurt. Except he couldn’t dwell on his own embarrassment because someone just had to have seen him.
He heard a soft voice call out to him. “Red Robin” As he squinted in pain. It was a young woman, around his age or younger, wearing a shirt that barely covered her chest, and a thin cardigan a bag in hand and heels in another, and if he looked closer he could see the mini skirt she wore that barely covered her ass.
She was pretty as she tapped his cheek to see if he was awake, once he emitted a groan she hoisted herself up and into the trash bin he was in, briefly flashing him, he saw her gag as she landed on it. She used her phone flashlight in order to analyze him. She was beautiful if he was being honest.
It had been a weird exchange if he was being honest, he was mostly tired and hurt as she pulled him over the trash bin, and he was surprised she was able to, given she was smaller than him. And he was mostly deadweight.
And he was dragged into an apartment building. And placed on a couch as she used a first aid kit on him. And she talked to him while she patched him up. And he struggled to keep awake as she poked him and stuff like that.
And after some time she heated something up for him and changed clothes.
She fed him and he asked her who she was, and surprisingly she was forward with her name. Minnie.
And when he tried to leave she stopped him telling him to rest and to eat, and when he asked her why she helped him, she told him that it was payback for him helping the city, which was valid but it was weird. He wasn’t used to people actually voicing it out.
And then she brought him extra bedding and pillows. Not something he was used to. He wasn’t used to civilians being nice to him or vigilantes in general.
He couldn’t sleep at all, so four hours later he got to see her making him coffee and eggo waffles as she struggled with pants, and no shirt on as she hissed about being late to work.
She quietly bid him goodbye and left.
And Tim had to think about how bizarre his life was.
And then he got called in and left.
He tried to track down the apartment to thank her a couple days later, but she had left and due to it being in crime alley there was no trail left.
And he’d been thinking about her, so imagine his surprise when he’d gone grocery shopping only for a figure to slam into him. A basket scattering. A soft but recognizable.
“Sorry” Caused him to pause a bit.
It was a young and pretty woman, wearing a cute flowery maxi skirt, with black boots and a cute black crop top, with vibrant makeup and gems. And wearing glasses. He wouldn’t have recognized her if it wasn’t for a small tattoo on her exposed waist which he glanced at that night.
“Are you alright?” He asked as he offered her a hand as she hesitantly grabbed it and he pulled her up with ease, she was light for her age as she smiled at him.
“Uh, thank you” She said sheepishly as she bent down to grab her things,as he did the same, causing her to give him a shy smile nodding.
“Thank you, I’m sorry for bumping into you”She said as she grabbed the last of the bandages. “I wasn’t aware of my surroundings.” She sheepishly explained as the young male smiled at her. What a coincidence that he would find her here.
“No problem” He said.
She smiled at him before heading towards the check out line.
And Tim ditched what he’d gone to buy to just grab a random coffee.
“You hurt or something?” He asked startling her a bit as she turned back to him, before realizing he was looking at all the pain meds, and first aid kit essentials she had in her basket. It was more than the average person bought.
“Oh, no, um I’m just stocking up, just in case, you never know, it’s Gotham” She shrugged, which was true, not the whole truth. He figured maybe that was the reason she had a stocked first aid kit when she’d patched him up. And the fact that when he’d been in her apartment there’d been medical supplies there.
“Oh” he said as she nodded giving him a small smile, before she noticed the brand of coffee he got, it was the same one she did. It was a coincidence if Tim was being honest. He just didn’t want to follow behind her empty handed.
He was a bit surprised that she didn’t recognize him, not as Red Robin but as Tim Drake because he was certain the cashier made him. Which made him more curious about her.
“I’m Tim” He said as she smiled at him and stretched her hand out for a handshake which he shook.
“Minnie” She smiled as he nodded. He was about to say something before it was her turn to pay, and he was quiet, once she was done she turned back to him smiling. It was confirmed it was the same young woman from that night.
“Have a nice day Tim, take care” She said as she headed out. And Tim now knew where she shopped frequently given the fact that the cashier called her by her name.
It was interesting.
Chapter 10: Here we go again
Chapter Text
Minnie knew that a lot of the girls that did what they did was in order to survive and most of them hated it, which was why she always tried to give her earnings to them.
And while it had been one of the more of the drastic things she did in order to survive, she realized early on, she did not hate it.
The having sex part at least.
The fact that often times it had to be with old men? Well she couldn’t really complain.
They were the ones that had money.
And sometimes it was younger men who were goons or something that dropped money on her because they liked that she was younger.
But like she mentioned, at least this was of her own volition, and no one was forcing her.
Of course when she had first started men had always tried to take her without her permission, because she was small and they thought she was naive, and once they almost succeeded, but thankfully Minnie had always had a fight aspect in her body so she always ended up getting away.
Her first time had been when she was really young, to an older man, who wasn’t a complete scumbag, actually, no he was a scumbag for having sex with a minor, but at least the fucker had the decency to be gentle with her and she got some pretty good money out of it.
And she realized she could make so much more doing that than giving blowjobs or handjobs.
And she also realized, well, that she enjoyed it.
Make money something you enjoy, or something like that.
While protecting the other working girls.
She enjoyed the pleasures of it, and while she would really like to do it with someone she liked, it wasn’t too bad sometimes.
Sure she got terrible people, but sometimes she got men, or women that just wanted to take the edge off, and they were the easiest because they didn’t demand much, and believe it or not they were the ones she liked the most.
She could satisfy herself and them too. And she didn’t have to do a lot or like she sometimes did, be on guard if they tried something.
Sometimes they had uniforms for her.
And well as long as she didn’t pay for them then she was fine with it.
This time she was riding a local professor of Gotham Academy, he was plain looking but still cute, old enough to be her dad, but she didn’t judge.
He was fit so that was a plus.
And he had requested her to wear a short skimpy uniform, and while a bit creepy, she took it.
The shirt he gave her with no bra, was barely covering her chest, and the skirt only covered her front as he grabbed her ass as she went up and down him.
He was fairly big so she was enjoying it.
He wanted to be blindfolded which she did not get why but she wasn’t complaining. She was getting paid and that was all that mattered, and well she was also satisfying her needs too.
Most of the time they tried to be more dominant, and she didn’t mind, she was a switch. And right now she was happy being the one that made the shots.
But she was a bit concerned about who the man was imagining as she bounced on his cock.
Hopefully it wasn’t someone too young, because she knew she didn’t look older than sixteen so maybe that was a red flag.
But she’d been busy and she needed the release so she wasn’t complaining, and neither was he.
Not with the moans he was emitting at her as she slowly bounced up and down his cock.
Edging him on, it’s what he had requested, for her to edge him on, and she wasn’t going to complain.
Many of the girls had a strict rule of the men not cuming into them, because they didn’t want to get pregnant and because of the diseases, which was why they had regular check ups.
She could not get pregnant. Infertile. And due to the fact that when she was younger something happened.
So she wasn’t afraid of getting pregnant, it wasn’t a possibility not that she ever wanted to.
And it was good, because she liked the release.
“Keep going baby” The man said as she moaned a bit at that.
Usually the men just wanted a quick fuck and never talked to her, which she hated, she liked it when they talked or tried to make it fun for her.
That went on for a while.
“Thank you” The older man said a bit sheepish as she stepped out of the bathroom, only a bathrobe on, as he sat on the bed of the motel room he rented, dressed up and looking presentable, like what they’d just done hadn’t happened.
She nodded as he handed her the cash and left.
She liked it when they didn’t overstay their welcome.
It was about five in the morning, and she should have gone home earlier but the man paid for some hours and she couldn’t say no.
Thankfully she brought sweatpants, and comfortable clothes and she was able to get out without being noticed, she was good at that.
Granted as she was walking home, she knew she shouldn’t have walked home because it was dangerous especially in Gotham, but she had no car.
At least not at the moment.
So she was alert and aware as she walked, making sure not to make too much noise and to not draw attention to herself.
And she always minded her business she really did.
Which was why she thought it was the universe punishing her when Robin knocked her out.
More like he barreled into her. And on instinct she caught the body in a hug as she rolled over.
“Ugh” She groaned as she sat up, still holding the young vigilante.
And the only reason she knew who she was holding was because of the glare and the colors.
“What the” She said as she let go of him and he huffed standing up, as he got into a defensive position and she was able to see who had thrown him.
Waylon. Or Killer Croc as many called him.
Dude didn’t really do much damage unless goaded so she was a bit confused as to why he was going nuts.
And well she’d made friends with him.
After accidentally falling down a drain, they came to an understanding and every now and then she would keep him company and give him food.
She sat there on the ground as she saw Robin fighting him, and Waylon got a lucky grab of the cape and threw the young vigilante back, hard on the ground and she just knew that hurt.
She just did not know what was up with the vigilantes in Gotham, she used to never see them, and now they were popping up like roaches.
And even if she said she would mind her fucking business she just couldn’t sit there and have someone her age get their ass beat like that. And sure, yeah you could say he was more experienced than her.
But she knew Waylon, and she was certain she could help in some way. Provide a distraction, it worked last time, and last time he’d been really angry. So she knew it would work this time.
So she stood up and stood in front of Robin who had been getting up and shouted. “Waylon!!” She shouted causing him to stop roaring and gearing up to fight the young vigilante.
One of the things she learned was that Waylon disliked it when people called him Killer Croc, he was just trying to find his humanity back.
“How are you?” She said casually like she wasn’t speaking to one of the people Batman considered a rogue.
“Huh?” He roared in confusion before his eyes adjusted and he got a look at her and he stopped roaring a look of recognition passing through his eyes.
“It’s been a while hasn’t it?” She continued to talk as Robin tried to move towards him but she yanked him back.
“May I ask what’s wrong?” She asked as he stared at her for a couple seconds as she kept a firm hand on Robin, and she knew he was glaring at her.
But she did not care.
“They disturbed my home, without asking questions, and began to fight me for no reason” He said, causing her to frown.
Waylon despite his appearance just had a condition, and he was someone who could defend himself, but due to him being different people just tended to see him as a villain, and most of the time he minded his business.
“I am sorry Waylon, and so is my friend here” She said motioning to Robin, who glared at her.
They weren’t friends, she didn’t even know the guy, but she knew that that would cause Waylon to be more forgiving.
“Friend?” He said eyeing the Robin as she nodded.
“Yeah, sorry again, is there any way you would let it go for now, and later today I can help you clean up your home?” She asked as he narrowed his eyes at her before huffing.
“You need to go home and stop walking out at night” He said as he began to walk away.
“Thank you! I’ll bring some food” She shouted back at him but he disappeared. And when he did that she let go of Robin.
Who glared at her.
“Who are you?” He demanded, “And how did you do that?” He said causing her to sigh, she was tired and wanted some sleep.
“It doesn’t matter,” She grumbled. “Waylon is a human being, he likes to be treated as one, of course he’s gonna be upset if you disturb him” She said as she began to walk away.
“Next time just ask him what you need and he won't beat your ass”
She did not notice how Robin stared at her as she walked away.
Chapter Text
Duke had been out on patrol, like normal, he was the only one that patrolled during the day. Of course the others were on standby if something big happened but most of the time he was on his own.
He had, like previous times, answered to a robbery occuring, and it had been going well, that was until one of them managed to throw him out the window, shattering it and him denting a car.
It was frankly embarrassing if he was being honest.
He had groaned a bit in pain before a figure dived right in front of him. He was bleeding, and he was losing blood fast, he was losing it because he only noticed her presence when she began to put pressure on it.
He stood up quickly getting ready to defend himself.
“Hey, it’s alright, I know it’s weird and strange, but I’m here to help” She said not giving him much time as she used what she had just bought to clean the wound, quickly and began to wrap it up. Duke did not have time to protest as she worked quickly.
“You’re going to be okay” she muttered as she didn’t look at him, her hands stained with blood but she didn’t seem to care. He furrowed his eyes as he took a good look at her.
She was a pretty woman, beautiful if he was being honest, she wore a flower maxi skirt, with black boots and a cute crop top that showed her piercing. And glasses that adorned her face.
“You’ll be okay” She repeated as all around her there were screams of civilians. “There, you got this Signal” She said, pulling him up as he stared at her. Still unsure about what the hell was going on.
“Go kick ass” She had to him as he headed back to the bank but not before seeing as she ducked behind a car, observing the scene.
With new found motivation it didn’t take long for him to subdue the target and someone had called the cops who had meta restraints.
He figured that she had called the cops as she was on the edge observing him making sure things were okay, and he was a bit curious about that.
So he followed her.
She had gone into a cafe as he observed her. She seemed to be warm with people.
As soon as she began to walk away, and near an alley, he dropped down, wanting to check up on her, granted it was stupid of him.
“What the actual fuck” She muttered as her eyes widened before reflexively whacking him. He deserved that.
“Ow” Signal said as she gave him a look.
“Don’t sneak up on people” She said, her accent coming in thick. And he knew, she was either from the Alley or the Narrows. “Thought you were going to murder me” She grumbled as he stared at her and she shook her head.
“Sorry” he said, causing her to huff. It was a funny sight if he was being honest.
“What do you want?” She asked skeptically as she put her hands on her hips.
“I just wanted to make sure you were okay” he said a bit nervously as she cocked her head. She was looking at him with this look in her eyes that it made hm nervous.
“Shouldn’t I be asking you that?” She asked raising an eyebrow. “You need to rest, you were just hurt, and the guy from the bank did a number on you” She said frowning at his bandaged side. And Duke was not used to civilians being concerned for him.
And he stopped for a second, he didn’t get as much credit as the other bats, so sometimes he thought nobody really cared. But she had said it with so much conviction it made him feel a certain way.
“Thanks” He said as she smiled brightly at him.
“No problem” She said as she handed him one of the bags with one of the cookies she bought. He was shocked and confused but grabbed the bag.
“Now go get yourself checked out, I don’t trust my bandaging” She said leaving him stunned as she began to walk away. Not noticing as he observed her going away, a small blush on his face.
This was interesting.
She was interesting.
He had wanted to follow her but he was still patrolling so he would check on her another time.
That was a couple days ago, he had gone to go get something to eat after patrol, to clear his mind, in his civies, when he noticed that someone had gotten in line behind him as they had accidentally bumped into him, causing him to turn around.
“Oh, sorry” The voice said causing him to look at them, and there she was.
The young woman from the other day , he had hoped to see her during his patrols but nothing, and he was starting to think that maybe he had clocked the accent wrong.
But no, she was right there in front of him.
She was wearing a black skater skirt and a t-shirt which was the same length as it. She was barefaced which he thought made her look even prettier.
She had been listening to music and looking at her phone, but stopped as she apologized, her eyes meeting his, giving him a sheepish smile.
“It’s alright” he said, causing her to nod shyly at him.
And he would have left it at that, he should have left it at that.
But he wanted to talk to her more, he found her voice and her accent calming.
But before he could try to think of something to hold her attention she took her eyes of her phone and finally looked at him cocking her head before she smiled widely at him pointing at her ear.
“Nice piercing dude” She said her voice filled with excitement causing him to touch on the piercing he’d just gotten.
“Thank you” he said as she smiled brightly at him.
As she practically bounced on her feet, “I wanted to get one but I’m afraid it’ll hurt” She said causing him to shake his head.
“It doesn’t hurt” He answered her causing her to smile at him.
“That’s good to know” She said as he nodded, and he would have said something if he wasn’t next in line to order, he gave his quick order before turning to her, it being her turn as she order just coffee.
“No food?” He asked curiously as she stood next to him waiting.
She shook her head with a smile.
“I already ate, I was just craving coffee” She said sheepishly as he nodded.
“I get that, sometimes you need the energy” he said as she nodded at him.
They talked for a couple minutes about mundane things, about food mostly, before she got her coffee and he was called too.
He had ordered his to go.
Which allowed him to walk with her towards the exit.
“Well it was a pleasure speaking to you” She smiled at him and he nodded a bit dazed as he held the door open for her.
“Name’s Duke” He said causing her to smile at him brighter.
“Minnie, thanks again!” She said walking away.
And well he had more than he had a couple days ago.
And he was going to find out more.
He was certain, by the accent, he would see more of her.
Chapter Text
It wasn’t everyday a civilian protected Robin, or caught him and protected his head.
Which was why Damian had been thinking about the night he was fighting killer croc and a civilian had caught him after he had been thrown, and they had somehow diffused the situation to the point that Killer Croc didn’t want to pummel him.
So he had been curious about her.
She was a year or two older than him, that’s what he gathered from their brief exchange.
And during patrols he had been trying to get a glimpse of her, but to his dismay nothing.
Which was why he did not expect to see her running towards him as he was patrolling one of his normal routes, now that he was a bit older, Bruce allowed him to patrol on his own, in a route he was familiar with of course he had everyone on the coms if he needed any help.
But he had been standing on a street just bored out of his mind when he heard a shout.
“Robin!” Usually he was the one going towards the civilians not them going to him.
But there she was, the young woman from the other night.
Her hair was tied in a bun as she was wearing sweatpants and a tank top and holding what was a bag in her hands.
She ran to him like her feet were on fire and before he could ask what was wrong she shoved the bag to him.
“I was asking for you the whole night” She breathed out trying to catch her breath. “But you move so fast I was afraid I was going to have to make these go to waste” She took a breath and looked at him as he gave her a confused look.
“I made cookies” She said motioning to the bag as he gave her another confused look.
“Yesterday, you helped three elderly women from getting mugged. They help out a lot at the local food pantry, so this is a thanks for that” She said as he remembered how the night before he had just briefly helped three elderly women but he thought nothing of it, it was his job as Robin to help people.
And now the person he had been looking for was right in front of him, and they gave him cookies, what a night.
“It was nothing” he had been told that he needed to talk to civilians a lot nicer than he used to and while it was hard, he was trying.
She smiled at him brightly.
And Damian was unsure about whether things got brighter or if it was her.
“Sure it was, you saved them, do not undermine what you do!” She said as she waved bye to him and had begun to walk away. He frowned as he walked to catch up to her.
“It’s three in the morning, it’s not safe to be walking alone” he told her as she turned to him a small smile on her face.
“Gotham’s not that bad once you get used to it” She shrugged as she continued to walk, he followed her.
“I think it would be safer if i took you home so that you don’t end up a casualty” he said causing her to snort at him.
“Rob,” She said laughing a bit, he was unsure about the name. “I’ve lived in Gotham my whole life I can take care of myself, I appreciate the sentiment, but I’m certain other people might like your help” She said trying to wave him off as she continued walking, he frowned, not many civilians refused his help.
“You’re still a civilian” he said causing her to nod.
“I mean so are you” She said causing him to stare at her as she sighed.
“I’m fine really, I live close so it’s no big deal” She said as he continued to stare at her as they continued walking to which she sighed a bit defeated.
“You’re stubborn” She chuckled as she didn’t say anything else as he walked next to her.
He didn’t say anything as they continued to walk for a couple minutes before she spoke again to him.
“I meant it you know” She said causing him to raise an eyebrow.
“The whole undermining what you do, I know a lot of people don’t really like you guys because the whole vigilante thing, but for all it’s worth I am grateful for you, there needs to be some sort of accountability for criminals” She said as he was unsure how to feel about that.
As he grew as Robin all he could hear from newspapers was them disparaging vigilantes, and them in general and the general public didn’t like them or thanked them.
So this was new.
“I’ve seen videos of you kicking ass” She said. “And it’s so fucking cool” She said as she made a very lazy attempt of a punch.
“Yeah, I do not believe you can defend yourself” he heard himself say causing her to give him a look and pout.
“I so can” She protested as he shook his head and they continued walking.
“Your stance is all wrong” he said causing her to turn to him quickly.
“Oh! Are you going to teach me?” She asked causing him to stop for a second as she looked at him expectantly.
And that’s how he spent the next couple minutes teaching her how to throw a proper right hook.
“Awesome!” She pumped her fists.
“This means I can technically say that I was trained by Robin!” She said as he gave her a look but she didn’t seem bothered by it.
“Thank you!” She smiled at him and he’s so used to people just being bothered or offended by what he said, not thank him for it.
“This is my stop, thank you!” She said a they stopped near some apartments and she waved at him as she began to head up the stairs of the apartment building not looking back.
No seeing as he stayed there for a couple minutes before he went on his way, memorizing where she lived.
