Chapter 1: Epilogue
Chapter Text
Before time and space itself ever existed, creatures known as “Entities” wandered the void. They walked in the nothingness of that space until one day, they all had sudden inspiration and got to creating stars, planets, galaxies and unique creatures like gods, animals, celestial beings and more.
One of these entities created and failed on a specific goal of theirs to create the planet of their vision. They finally were to achieve that goal when they created a planet named “Theovis”, a planet home to a robotic-based species that was led by four of the Entity's children. They were known as the guardians of the planet. Two took flight-based looks while the other two took ground-based looks.
The four guardians would assist their creator in guiding the mortal species to technological, architectural, educational evolutions and more to create the perfect planet. A few billion years went by without any issue and the planet was deemed a success by the Entity.
One day, however, the Entity’s mind started to fight within itself; arguing back and forth. The four guardians sensed their creator's distress, wishing to assist, but not knowing what was the root of the issue they didn’t know how. Only by cracking their head open, did the Entity release the pressure in its mind, and two beings were separated from the Entity’s head. From then on these two beings were known as Unicron, the planet eater and god of destruction, and Primus, the god of creation.
The two gods were disoriented when first released from the Entity, though they soon went back to fighting, seemingly trying to kill each other for no reason. After a while of fighting the four guardians approached the gods, making them stop in their tracks as the presence of the four siblings shook the gods to their cores. The aura emanating from the siblings was so powerful and dense, that the two gods knew they must stop their childish bickering.
The two gods were welcomed on the planet by the mortal species while the four siblings were weary of the two. The Entity decided to educate and guide the two gods to set them up for their journey of creation and destruction. Years later the two gods go off on their own and wander the new space to fulfill their duties.
Once the two left, the Entity decided to go to rest, but before that, they created a few celestial beings known as the Thirteen Stars. Each star represented a different aspect of the planet’s people; The Star of nature and purity, Element, The Star of wisdom, Virtue Star, The Star of adventure and war, North Star, The Star of time and prophecy, Oracle Star, The Star of tricksters and the seas, River Star, The Star of weather and technology, Zephyr Star, The Star of Animals and Space, Zodiac Star, The Star of emotions and love, Core Star, The Star of life and blacksmiths, Mercy, The Star of death, Hazard Star, The Star of art, culture and tradition, Melody Star, The Star of dreams and the mind, Comet, and the youngest, The Star of education and hope, Prodigy.
The thirteen Stars and the four guardians became protectors and guides to the mortals of Theovis and were each praised for their abilities and unique qualities. As the Entity was falling into slumber, it decided to choose one of the four guardians to be the planet’s ruler. Throughout the four guardians' lives, they were tested and judged by their Entity to see which would lead this world to a brighter future and keep the peace. So, the youngest child, Guardian of the Sparks and Wind, was chosen to be the planet’s leader.
From then on the guardian, Aurora, and her siblings lead and guide the planet to great heights. But not everything stays perfect forever…
Chapter 2: Chapter 1
Chapter Text
The Destruction God, Unicron, recently destroyed the planet Cybertron and all colony planets. Many lives were lost, including the leader of the Autobots, Optimus Prime, also known as Orion Pax, from the Great War that had lasted for millions of years, with the added assistance of Starscream, ex-Decepticon Air Commander and previous Supreme Leader of Cybertron, who had sacrificed his life to the Talisman to let Optimus Prime and their friends get to the core of Unicron himself. With Unicron gone, the remaining survivors and Earth were saved from complete extinction.
Bumblebee, who was brought to life only days prior, walked down a beach as the sun started to set on Earth. The ghost of Starscream walked right by him.
“Oh Primus, you’re jealous that Optimus got all the credit.” Bumblebee poked fun at Starscream. “Who, me. Jealous?
It’s okay. People will probably remember me. That’s all I can ask for, I guess.” Starscream reassures the yellow bot.
“Plus saving the universe, right? That counts for something?…
Come on, Starscream- I’ll be lonely out there for weeks at a time, trying to play diplomat.” Bumblebee paused and came to a stop, staring into the sunset.
“Anyway-you got somewhere better to be?”
…
…
…
…
Starscream was falling. Falling in darkness.
Just a moment ago he was walking along a beach with Bumblebee, but now?
Before he knew what was happening, whispers of multiple voices started emerging from the dark. It wasn’t the earthlings' English language, nor was it any languages he’s heard from Cybertron. Yet… it sounded awfully familiar. As he listened, it felt as if he was the subject in this supposed argument? The conversation didn’t feel tense, but it felt cautious instead. We’re the disembodied voices cautious of him? He couldn’t figure out what exactly they were discussing about him before they all in unison said a word that brought the conversation to its conclusion; “Life”.
…
Starscream woke up with a start in the middle of a grassy clearing surrounded by trees and flora. The sky was turning from sky blue to orange and pink hues of dusk, most likely being evening hours wherever he was. Starscream gets up slowly and steadying himself upright as he feels on the verge of collapse from unknown exhaustion. He looks around and listens to the gentle winds and the sounds of forest animals chirping and singing their evening tunes.
Confused, Starscream opens up his arm panel to try and get a sense of where he currently is, however to no avail. The map was repeating the same blinking red word of “UNKNOWN”. For a minute thinking this was earth, he took a step and heard the clang of metal against metal. By looking down, he discovered the ground was a mix of metal and organic material growing from the ground. This surely wasn’t Earth as metal was not something found in the ground as dirt and mud. He crouched down to touch it; it was soft. He felt at the ground for a moment before hearing someone coming towards the clearing. He quickly stood up, getting into a defensive stance with his blasters pointed at the origin of the noise. His eyes squinted in anticipation for whoever came out charging.
A bot emerged out of the forest and stepped into the light, the colours of the current dusk light matching their plating colour scheme. They also had glowing iris coloured optics. They seemed to have a flight based alt-mode, yet it didn’t resemble any Earth or Cybertronian vehicles he’s ever seen. Starscream then sensed an odd, comforting feeling emitting from the stranger. Lowering his weapons, he straightened his back, head held high to look more presentable to the stranger. The bot stared at Starscream in awe before smiling, reaching a hand out. Then they spoke.
“My what a joyous surprise! It is an honor to finally have your presence return to the planet. I am assuming you are Starscream, correct?” The stranger expressed cheerfully. Starscream looked at them, perplexed and slightly weird out. He’s never met this bot before, so how do they know his name? He approached and plastered a smile on himself, reaching his arm out to shake theirs.
“Yes indeed I am Starscream, I am from the planet Cybertron. If I may ask for your designation?” He asked.
“Oh yes of course! My apologies, Starscream. My designation is Nova. Welcome to the lands of the planet Theovis, home of the Theovians.” They shared, smiling wide at him.
“I suspected that this couldn’t be Earth. However, I never heard of your planet before. Is Theovis another secluded colony planet from Cybertron? If so, we could have reached out to help one another out.”
Starscream suggested. Still faking the politeness.
“Oh no, we’re not a colony planet of yours. We’re a singular, independent planet, and we’ve already ahead of our times with most things.” Nova informed. They looked up into the sky and let go of the handshake.
Starscream followed their gaze and noticed the sky growing darker as minutes went by.
“We shall discuss things further the next day. Please come with me and I’ll escort you to where you will be residing from now on. It isn’t safe to stay out here after the sun sets.” They concluded, waving their hand gesturing to follow into the forest.
The two walked with Starscream behind Nova before reaching a dirt path that continued forward. They both then reached large walls that are at least scaling 3000 ft tall. Starscream’s eyes widened slightly as he looked up at the size of the walls. Nova reached their hand out towards the wall and a hidden doorway to a tunnel then opened up. They started walking through with the door quickly closing behind the two. Starscream quickly turned on his biolights and they lit up the hallway slightly. However, he noticed how Nova didn’t exactly have a shadow when the lights shone on them. He stopped in his tracks and looked at Nova. Nova stopped and glanced behind and looked at Starscream and looked down. Realizing what he was looking at, they smiled in reassurance.
“Oh right, I forgot to mention I’m not a real bot. I’m actually the planet’s A.I. Natural light can’t shine through me like a normal bot but biolights or unnatural lights do shine through me.” They explained, laughing slightly afterwards.
Starscream let out a sigh of relief he didn’t notice he was keeping in. For a second he thought he was seeing ghosts again.
By the time they reached the end of the surprisingly long tunnel, it was the start of the nightly hours. They left the tunnel, with the exit closing behind them, blending into the wall. Continuing the walk, they reached a suburban neighborhood of sorts, with street lights shining on the streets. Soon they started walking through a larger city area.
For most of the journey heading to where Starscream would be staying, he talked and asked questions to Nova about the people, hierarchy, Energon supply, and some more mathematical, scientific and law based questions.
“Another question. It’s only at least 10 PM, yet there are barely any bots around the streets. Do you have a curfew enforced or something?” Nova looked at him then looked away.
“No curfew, it’s merely a common fear of the night. Especially what you can possibly find lurking in it.” Their gaze lowered. “I told you that it wasn’t ideal to stay after dark in the forests outside the walls, and there is a reason for that. Due to the beasts that can sneak in here if not careful, creatures who are only strongest during the night time.”
“What Creatures?” Starscream asked, puzzled.
Nova paused.
“Sparkeaters…” They replied.
Starscream didn’t say anything before bursting into laughter.
“Sparkeaters?! Oh you’ve gotta be messing with me! Those things are just stories to scare weak and pathetic bots. They’re not real, and I’ve never seen one ever in my life! HAH! You might make me fall over laughing from this!” Starscream replied, highly amused.
Nova looked at him with a cold and blank expression, watching as he laughed.
“It isn’t a joke, those things are indeed real and pose quite a threat to the citizens as we’ve lost many because of them. We have a special tactical militia group just to handle them if they try to enter the city borders…” Nova frowned as they continued to explain the tragedies.
Starscream’s expression soon shifted from humorous to horrified. He always assumed Sparkeaters as just a tactic to frighten the weak but, is actually real? He looked down slightly before looking back at Nova who simply continued guiding the way through the yellow hued lit up streets.
They walked for 4 hours till they finally reached a large castle. After passing the main outer gates, they walked past a large statue with 4 bots standing in different positions. Guards stood at the entrance and greeted Nova and Starscream. Both guards opened the doors, and the two walked in.
As they walked through the castle, they passed many hallways and large doors. Finally they reached a room where Nova gave the silver key to Starscream.
“I shall see you in the morning outside your room and let you meet the leader of Theovis. Sleep well Starscream.” Nova wished. They shut the door and zapped away.
Starscream stood there before looking around the room a bit. It was a large and spacious room and it also had a balcony. A large recharge table that had very comfortable bedding and sheets, a desk for any work related things, a side room to take showers, and looking next to his recharge table was also a metal looking mannequin. Nothing was adorning it but he was still wondering why it was there anyways. Cybertronians or any of his kind of species didn’t wear clothing besides capes and maybe the occasional crowns.
He decided not to think too much about it and started feeling exhausted, his legs feeling as if they’ll collapse under his weight. He walks over to the recharge table and laid down, letting his optics slowly shutting off and letting him fall into slumber.
…
…
…
…
He opened his optics and looked around. He was in that dark space again. He soon started hearing whispers and voices once more.
Again in that language he didn’t fully understand. Yet it sounded so familiar, why though? He looked around more and noticed figures made fully of light in the distance. Before he realized, he was walking towards them, then he started running. He tried to call out to the figures, but nothing came out. Only static.
He kept running…
And running…
He woke up, looking at the ceiling of his current room.
He couldn’t reach them…
