   After Kiana ends their relationship when Mei hung the phone up, The Captain reflects on his role in neglecting her due to work demands and ware of potential backlash if he confides in others about this, he secretly heads to Hyperion after giving a fake alibi to Theresa and requests Ai to release a previously trapped AI from the Hyperion upon it hacking into the ship and seemingly let itself be captured on purpose

   And from there he seeks answers from this AI, recalling something it mentioned something of him being a successor of something before the Project STIGMA incident and with that his life changed for better and worst for many of those he now left behind
