As the sun shined in the Washington DC skyline, Chris sat down in her room looking at her window remembering her career. Her daughter Regan walked in as she hugged her.
"Mommy, are you excited for our upcoming dinner party?" she asked.
"Yes. Yes, I am." answered Chris. "I know you're excited too."
"I am." replied Regan as her long soft light brown hair flowed down her shoulders and she looked over at her mother with her big brown eyes. "What time is it?"
"It's 11:30am."
Chris got up from her armchair and held her 12-year-old daughter's hand as she walked downstairs to the kitchen where she gave herself some coffee. Regan noticed that her gazing out the window, looking at her reflection and the sunlight beaming through the window, and the sound of her coffee being poured. Regan looked over to see her mother and she took her hand.
"Are you okay, mom?" she asked with a smile.
"Yes sweetheart, just thinking of Mr. Dennings and how he would enjoy the dinner." Chris said as she thought about Burke Dennings, the director and good friend of her. "How do you think he'll like it?"
"I think he'll love it, mom." said Regan with a smile as she went into her room.

She looked around her room and smiled as she looked out the window seeing the stairs of M Street. Regan laid down on her bed as she started daydreaming about becoming an actress just like Chris. She remembered the night when they watched The Sound of Music, her favourite movie, and Chris had an idea that maybe one day her daughter will become a famous actress. As she looked in the closet, she picked out a pink floral dress and wore it as she spun around and imagined herself dancing at the dinner party. As Chris stepped into Regan's bedroom, seeing her own daughter Regan in the dress.
"Mother, what do you think?" asked Regan.
"It looks good," she smiled. "You're going to make a great actress, Regan."
"Just like you, mother." said Regan.
"Yes. Just like me." said Chris as she looked over at the window seeing the sunlight shine on her.
Later that night, Chris put on her sparkly, sheer blue dress with her diamond earrings and necklace as Regan helped her get ready for the party. She walked out of her room and into the kitchen which Karl and Willie prepared earlier.
"Oh Regan, you look wonderful!" said Chris. "That dress looks very nice on you."
"Thanks, mother. It's my favourite dress," giggled Regan. "Mr. Dennings will be proud of me."
" I know, let's open the door to welcome our guests."
Chris walked out of the kitchen and lit up the fireplace and candles, she sat down on the sofa in the living room waiting for their guests to arrive.
