Pebble hadn't gotten a bone ever since the incident at the daycare broke out. His insanity increased by the second, driving himself mad. The only person who had the power of keeping him sane, Dandy, was nowhere to be seen, it was as if someone scrapped him from existence. Without Dandy around, Pebble wouldn't behave. They tried everything, eventually giving up. Everyone did but Shelly. They tried to persuade her, begging her to stop, but she didn't. She thought there was still some way to get the old Pebble back, a way to prevent the further consequences her dematerialized chaperones faced.
But alas, her intractability had it's way lurking around the corner waiting to strike. And it did. It struck her in a way which allowed her to express degradiation and sorrow. Her purity had been spoiled by the Ichor, all leaking through her once impeccable shell of an ammonite. Pebble had bitten her, hard. Cracked her fossilhead, leaving her to leak and rot. The surrounding toons had heard the shriek she let out, perplexed by the scene they saw. As some tried to get the dog off, others scolded her for being so stubborn and naive. "Not to rub it in your face but we told you not to fuck around," Vee scoffed, insinuating that she was annoyed.
Tears were threatening to fall at the corner of her eye. Invisible strings forming together to compose a core, those strings consisting off of toons feelings and sayings, all being negative. Every toon had ignore her, and only now she realizes. Shelly wasn't exactly sensitive when it came to people talking with an attitude towards her, but she had considered Vee as her friend. Infact, everyone was supposed to be friends! But this inclination Vee possessed wasn't something which would count as "friendly". Besides, friends don't have an attitude towards each other, right?
"I'm sorry.." She mumbled. Her voice cracked which was normally ignored, despite her being on the verge of tears. As she saw her formely considered "nearest friends" standing behind Vee, unable to say anything or even stand up for her, she felt betrayal traveling through her body. Tisha and Teagan standing in the opaque dim light with expressions barely visible. As the Ichor was making it's path across her face and onto the floor, only then did she notice that she was bleeding. Scared and vulnerable, she stormed off to her dorm isolating herself from the outside world.
As she laid face down onto her pillow, screaming her lungs out with grief only to be silenced by the soft material. Deep down, she wanted someone to knock on the door, ask her if she was okay, but never did she hear a single footstep. Did anyone really care about her? Was she right about being ignored by the other toons?
It felt like hours just staring at the blank wall, rolling back and forth trying to find a good stance, waiting for support and comfort. But there she was, laying alone with no disturbance hanging in the air. Angst getting to her head, she started understanding her bevity of a conclussion. No one really cared about her. Shelly was only there when someone needed help carrying boxes or stuff like that. Musings rushing in and out of her head, wondering what went wrong. She maybe spoke too much, some probably got tired of her facts about dinosaurs and started omitting her from events and such.
She caught a glimpse of all the Ichor splattered onto her bed. Shit, she'd forgotten to wash herself.
Sprinting towards the bathroom and the mirror giving off her reflection, she saw something unusual. The Ichor had stained her sclera black resulting in an annoying itch. In an attempt to wash it off, there was something odd in her eye. Something that made her look uneasy, not the way she was before. Her pupils weren't as small as they were before but bigger. "What the fuck…" Shelly desperately tried getting it off but it was still there. A small peek over her shell she noticed that the crack was still leaking, even after hours after the incident. A quick slideshow in her mind played, the period where most of the toons started disappearing. Was it happening to her too?
