Chapter 1: Left in the rain-Dallas

Chapter Text

1: Left in the rain-Dallas

It was dark and raining so hard Dallas was worried it would turn to hail, he had been walking across town with two, now soaking, duffle bags and a suitcase. All three were full of all of his belongings, or what was left of them, one and a half weeks ago he had presented, it took a long painful week of clenching his fist in whatever blanket he could reach in his bed. He had presented as omega, and it was ruining his life, he had gotten fired for missing another week of work without calling in and Buck had kicked him out because he couldn't pay rent for the third month in a row. He was never supposed to be an omega, he was nineteen which is really late for presenting, but being so late meant he had a 87% chance of being an alpha, that fact had led him through his teenage years, but it had ended up being his fall. All that had lead him to where he was now, walking far away from his life, he planed on hitch hiking somewhere, maybe Nashville, but it was raining and he was cold and he hasn't eaten since after his presentation heat, he was currently on the rich side of town a place where his guts could be spread across concrete at any moment, but it being well past midnight and a wednesday, nobody was out or awake.

He needed to sit down somewhere, his legs threatening to give out, so he ended up on the porch of a condo. In the back of his mind he hoped someone who hated him lived inside, so they could beat him and he could die and never have to live the life of a late omega. He set his bags aside and closed his eyes, hunching over with his back to the door. He felt tears falling down his face, god when had he started crying, he was better than this, but was he really, his life was over for all he knew.

In his deep thought he failed to realize the door behind him had opened, the light from inside flooding his frame. What he did pick up on was the wood-like smell of an alpha, he clenched his jaw ready to be hit. But the hit never came instead a voice spoke,

“Dallas? Why are you here, what are you doing?”

He recognized that voice, Cherry Valance, he turned to look up at her, getting surprised by how close she was, her hand on his shoulder.

“You’re an omega”

She gasped holding his shoulder tight as if he would run, he didn't, instead he closed his eyes breathing in her scent, that's when it hit, she was the alpha. Last time he’d seen her she’d been sent less and not yet presented. He found his body curling into her before he let out a sob.

“I’m sorry” he gasped out.

She smiled at him with a warm and inviting smile before saying, “come inside, please dally?”, before he thought about it he was standing and stumbling soon supported by her help. He got through the door tripping in, she helped him to a clean red couch, filled with pillows and blankets. Then she disappeared through her still open front door, soon reappearing with his bags before setting them down by him and running to a storage closet grabbing a coral towel and walking up to him.

“I'm just going to dry you off” she said like she was talking to a scared kid, but what more was he, she whipped his face so gently before moving on. Once she was done she grabbed one of the blankets wrapping it around him.

“Try to warm up, I’m going to go get you pajamas.” she said to him softly walking up stairs.

He laid his head down breathing into the blanket, and god did it smell like her, he smiled leaning into her lingering scent, he started to doze off feeling like years passed around him in peace but soon felt a hand on his back.

“You can't sleep yet,Dally.” she smiled “I got you pyjamas” she set them on his lap. He got up, losing the blanket as she led him upstairs to her guest bedroom.

“Feel free to change and go to sleep, the bathroom is right there and I’ll be in my room down the hall.” She closed the door leaving Dally alone. He slowly changed into the fruit patterned pajama set as well as the dry underwear she left him. He went into the bed in the corner of the room missing the Cherry scented blanket downstairs, but it didn't matter for long because he was drifting into sleep.

As he woke up the next morning feeling as rested as ever, he quickly made his way the the bathroom cherry had shown him yesterday. He pulled down the pyjama pants to see baby pink panties. He went red, barely remembering putting them on. He quickly finished his business and slowly made his way downstairs.

“In here Dally” Cherry's voice rang in his mind.
