Chapter 1: Sound

Chapter Text

Bea had grown up in the city, it was her home, but not her haven. Sometimes the bustle of the city can get to be too much for a person, too much drama, too much sound, not enough life.

Bea was sitting on her couch with her mug of hot cocoa, the tv was on, the channel turned to the nightly news, she drank her cocoa, dreaming of a life where none of these events could ever happen.

As if like clockwork, someone knocked on her door, “who could that be?” She muttered. She opened the door to see a man on her doorstep, he knew who he was, and he knew who she was, and she did not want to see him.

He reached out to her, and she slammed the door in his face. He got knocked back a few feet. Bea took out her phone and immediately texted him

(What are you doing here??) – She texted, she didn't expect a response so quickly, but she got one.

(Babe, Please, I need you.) – he texted back. It shocked her, “How could he ask for me back when he was the one who left me?” she thought, running her hand through her hair.

Her eyes glanced at something she had put off reading, something she had decided was too sad to look at, but that something could give her a new beginning.

THE NEXT DAY

Bea woke up to the sound of a siren, she glanced at the letter on her bedside table again, and finally decided to read it.

Dear Beatrice Hadley,

I have written to inform you that your grandfather, Abraham Hadly, has died from old age.
I found him dead in his farmhouse at 2:46pm on May 31, we hope that you take this bad news well. But, we may have some good news as well. Your grandfather has left his entire farm to you!
I hope that you will be able to take over the farm, but if you cannot, it will be left to Jojamart to use as a storage ground.

Hope to see you soon,

Mayor Lewis.

Bea was shocked, she shouldn't have put off reading the letter. Part of her wanted to cry, but another part of her wanted to scream for joy, she could finally escape this rotten place! She called her friends, Blair and Ysabelle; who lived in the valley, to tell them the news.

At the end of the day, after lots of packing, she whispered to herself, “This is where you are meant to go.”

The Next day

The day after was a bustle of moving boxes and roads, but when the sunset showed, she looked up and saw the valley, and how perfect it was.

She arrived at her new house, and unloaded her stuff, then she met Blair and Ysabelle at the bus stop

“We CANNOT believe you are here!!” Blair yelled, “We have so many things to show you!!” They led her into the town square, and she met almost all the people who lived there.

“I hope to see you at the saloon soon!” Gus said to her, “Don’t let the girls take you EVERYWHERE in town, or else you’d have no time to stop by the shops!”

They stopped by Jojamart, and met the workers; Shane, Sam, and Claire. Sebastian, Robin and Maru were shopping there, but it wouldn’t take a detective to see how Sam and Sebastian looked at each other.

They left Jojamart to go to Sophia’s, She shyly introduced herself, then got back to work.

“She is really shy.” Blair told Bea as they were leaving the vineyard

They walked into some of the houses, and also onto a band practice, between Abigail, Sebastian, and Sam. They had a few conversations about the band, and the music, while Ysabelle pestered Abigail about Crushes and girl stuff. You could hear them laughing from across the house.

They met Emily, who invited her to use her sewing machine any time, even though Bea had no idea how.

At the end of the day, the girls stopped by the saloon to have a drink, and some food as well, they called the day a success, and collapsed onto the couch.

Ysabelle eagerly asked the first question, “Who do you fancy out of all the town members??”

“I'll have to think about it…” Bea said, side-eyeing Ysabelle.

“OH COME ON!!” Ysabelle answers, playfully shoving her in the shoulder, “JUST tell m–!” she said, but Blair interrupted her

“Ysabelle, Stop it. Ok, so who was your favorite person you met?” Blair asked, sinking into the couch at a rapid pace. Bea thought about it, she answered:

“Everyone.” Bea replied.

Chapter 2: Love

Summary:

I don't have a summary! READ AND FIND OUT

Notes:

Happy new year's EVE! I hope you enjoy this more ROMANTIC chapter! I also have a big sambastaion encounter for you to read!!

Chapter Text

The morning came quickly, Bea unloaded some more of her boxes, and planted crops she had gotten from Pierre's yesterday. Sadly, she was one fertilizer short, and had to go there again

She walked from her farm to Pierre’s, and saw that the help wanted board had a request from Sam, for a herring to “eat while he plays video games.” She had one, so she accepted his request.

Bea walked towards Sam’s house, and wasn’t surprised to see Sebastian’s bike parked outside, “they were probably at band practice.” She thought. Bea walked inside, to muffled noises.

She opened the door to Sam’s room, to see Sebastian and Sam laying on the bed, making out.

Bea dropped the bags she was holding, “What the fu–”

Sam screamed, interrupting her.

“What are you doing here?” Sebastian said, you could barely hear the words that came out of his mouth.

“Sam said he wanted a herring, and I had one, so I accepted the quest, and walked into……this.” She responded. Sebastian whipped his head to Sam

“You weren’t supposed to see that.” Sebastian said, embarrassed, getting off Sam.

“I can tell,” Bea said, “But I thought you were with Abigail.” she said, nodding to Sebastian.

“No, I wou–No I’m not with Abigail, she just says that.” He says, flustered. He looked around the room, as if he thought someone else would catch them.

Bea gave Sam his herring, he paid her the money he promised, as Bea left she told them, “Be more careful, maybe lock a door next time.

Later that day

Bea walked outside the saloon and saw Dusty, Alex’s dog, watching her. She sat down next to him and started talking to him:

“Hey Dusty, I thought you would have been sleeping by now, I probably shouldn’t have seen that earlier, that was embarrassing…”

“What was embarrassing?” Alex said, popping out of nowhere.

Bea looked up, he was the most handsome person she’d seen in months, he put out his hand to help her up. He looked straight into her eyes.

“Nothing, Just something that happened earlier” She responded, blushing.

“You can tell me, I promise not to tell anyone!” He said, begging for some kind of drama to laugh about.

“Fine” Bea said as she finally gave in “I was delivering something to Sam earlier, and I walked into him and Sebastain making out on Sam’s bed” She explained.

Alex was shocked. “I thought Sebastain was in love with Abigail, but…Wow, that's really crazy.” he said, “I had no idea they liked each other in that way.” Bea looked up into Alex’s eyes, their faces got closer, but suddenly she pulled away.

“I–I’m sorry I have to go.” Bea said, running off into the moonlight, but something stopped her, she turned around and said, “You know where to find me.” She turned back the other way and ran to her farm.

The Next morning

Blair’s POVish

Blair knocked on Bea’s door, she had some gifts for her, Alex gave them to her to deliver, she wouldn’t be rude and look, but she was hoping Bea would open it with her.

Bea eventually opened the door, her makeup, hair, and outfit were all perfected and done, like she was going on a date with someone.

“What are you–oh, I thought it was going to be someone else…” she said, obviously disappointed it wasn’t them, “What do you need Blair?” She asked.

Blair held up the gifts, “Alex told me to give these to you, did you know anything about this?” Bea’s face perked up at the mention of Alex’s name, Blair noticed, “Wait…..Do you like him???” She teased.

Bea angrily swatted at the gifts while Blair held them over her head, out of her reach. “Give it to me!!” Bea said, her voice swatched with desperation.

“I will, only IF you let me open them with you!” Blair said, holding them even higher. Bea nodded eagerly, and Blair gave her the delivery.

They walked inside the house, and sat down at the small tea table. Bea immediately ran for the scissors, while Blair examined the package.

“It is very neatly wrapped!” She said, surprised “Evelyn probably helped him!” She giggled.

Bea sat down and cut the ribbon off the package, she opened it up slowly, like she expected something living to come out of it.

Bea found a letter in the box, “what’s it say?” Blair asked, Bea read it out loud.

“Dear Bea, last night was a dream, I honestly thought we were going to- well you know what I mean. Anyway, I’d like to invite you to dinner tonight. I would love to spend more time getting to know you. My best, Alex”

“What happened last night??” Blair said, eagerly.

Bea responded quickly, “well, he saw me talking to dusty, and we talked for a while about, you know, stuff. Nothing that big”

Blair playfully shoved Bea, “ it sounds like something happened” she said, “but I don’t need to ask what, because I think I already know”
