One Big Chaotic Family (Hermitcraft Incorrect Quote Drabbles)

Summary:

A collection of hermitcraft drabbles based on incorrect quotes (exactly what the title says).
----------------------------
Chapter 1:
Person A: If I die first, promise to wait up for me, okay, Person B?
Person B: Oh, Person A. When I die, I’m taking you with me.
Person A: I can’t tell if that’s a threat or a compliment.
Person B: I’d think of it more as a grim inevitability.

Notes:

Hi, I am mainly using this as writing practice since I have a bigger, longer fic in the works and need to start putting more words on the page.
This work is absolutely inspired by BunnyoftheDarknessVoid's version of it (Go read their works, they are absolutely phenomenal) since I got the idea to do this from them I want to give credit where credit is due.
It's just gonna be some silly little drabbles but I hope you enjoy!

(Many more tags will be added once more drabbles are posted)

Chapter Text

Grian sat perched on top of Mumbo’s sugarcane farm, bored while the mustached man worked below since he was apparently “too busy” to give him attention. Rude.

Uncontent with simply leaving and finding something else to entertain himself with he decided to break the silence that was currently being filled with nothing but the clinking of machines.

“I hope I die first.” He said resolutely, causing Mumbo to drop the wires he was holding and look up at his friend with a bewildered look on his face.

“I’m sorry, what?”

“Out of the two of us,” He explained though it was not enough to cure Mumbo of the now more concerned look on his face so he continued, “I mean come on, it would suck being the one still here. No offense but I don’t ever want to grieve you.”

“Oh,” He responded simply, turning back to his redstone, “Well don’t worry, when I die, I’m taking you with me.”

Grian let out a startled chortle, “I can’t tell if thats a threat or a compliment, Mumbo.”

“I’d think of it as a grim inevitability.”

“I- you know what? Okay that’s fair. Neither of us can grieve if we go out at the same time.”

“Exactly!”

Chapter 2

Summary:

Person B: Person C is off at an appointment, so while they’re gone, I’m going to cut the sleeves off all of my shirts.
Person A: Why?
Person B: They’re like 90% of my impulse control.

Chapter Text

“Skizz, what are you doing?” Tango asked, leaning on the door to his friends bedroom where said friend was sitting on the ground surrounded by a bunch of clothes and scissors. It certainly wasn’t the weirdest thing he’d found him doing but still left him confused.

“Oh well, Dippledop is off server visiting the main hub and while he’s gone I’m cutting all the sleeves off of my shirts, wanna help?”

Well he’s got nothing else to do, so Tango sat down amidst the pile of clothes. “Sure, but uh, why exactly are you doing this?”

“Because I wanted to and with Dop gone I have no one to stop me.” He paused a mischievous grin, one that never bodes well, forming on his face. “I guess you could say he’s my Impulse control.”

“Ugh. Pun. I hate you. I’m leaving.”

“Wait, Top, no come back!”

Skizz got up to run after him, scissors still in hand, only to eventually be scolded by Xisuma (whos never beating the dad charges) for being unsafe.
