Summary
people who grow up together stay close together, and lucy and schroeder were nothing short of that. their bond was unmatched entirely, and it resulted in strange remarks. who would've thought that the hotheaded, confident black haired girl and the shy blonde musician were friends? they were different, they always had been, but it never concerned them. they belonged to each other, they always have.
when high school dawns on them, they slowly drift away into their own cliques, but as they got older, schroeder begins to realise that maybe he and lucy were meant to be together all along. but lucy will leave for college with her boyfriend, and schroeder may as well never see her again. if only it hadn't taken so long for him to figure out his feelings, maybe it wouldn't have been too late.
or maybe, in the process, he wouldn't have flipped.
