Death and light always go together

Summary:

Basically Nico Di Angelo and Will Solace are reincarnated into new people and somehow little by little they remember their past lives and probably regain their powers

Nico as Robin and Will as Kid Flash

Notes:

I don't know what I'm going to do with this, it just occurred to me while I was making a video for YouTube.

Chapter 1: The final judgment

Chapter Text

"The bad thing is that if you reincarnate you will get a new power and you none" said the lord of the court

"What?!" Will and Nico said at the same time without believing it

"That is so unfair" said Nico kicking the ground and crossing his arms

"Young man you should have died years ago but you avoided it, be thankful that we let you the option of reincarnating" said the judge

Nico frowned at the old man but felt a hand calming him on his shoulder

He turned his head to look behind him and found the calm smile of his boyfriend

Nico and Will had died at 90 years old having lived a full and moderately happy life

They were lucky many demigods did not live that long

"We chose reincarnation" said Will with a smile looking at the judge

"So be it then" said the judge before evaporating them from existence with a ray "Next"

Chapter 2: The bright sun

Chapter Text

"Will!" Robin shouted, waking up from his nightmare.

Will? Who was Will?

Robin took a deep breath to stop his wandering heart and tried to remember what he had dreamed five seconds ago.

He could only remember soft but scarred hands that promised to always be by his side, along with a warm light that reminded him of lying on the grass with the sun shining on his face

Robin stared at the wall with a frown. Lately, his dreams were getting stranger and stranger.

Why was he suddenly dreaming of hair as shiny as gold and a lot of suffering?

Robin knew his life hadn't been as good as he portrayed it, but the amount of misery he was feeling because of a dream was strangely high, even for him.

The young man rubbed his eyes and looked out the window. It was sunny outside. It was around 10 a.m. and Robin had to prepare for a new day of saving the city and fighting villains.

Chapter 3: The awakening

Chapter Text

"Nico, what have I told you about shadow travel?" said a young blond man with his arms crossed.

Kid Flash could feel his body moving and his mouth speaking, but he wasn't giving him any orders.

He was looking at a short boy with pale skin and wavy black hair, wearing a black skull t-shirt, jeans, and a brown jacket.

"Is it any use if I say I have a good reason?" said the young man, who must be Nico.

"Let's hear it out, then," he said, crossing his arms. Now that he noticed, since when were his arms so tanned and covered in freckles?

"Okay, huh?" said the young man.

"Go ahead," he said, inviting him to continue.

The young man muttered something.

"What?" he asked, not having heard what he said.

"Just visiting someone," said Nico.

"Who?" Will asked.

"Reyna," Nico said.

He heard himself sigh and say, "We're going to the infirmary."

"Will, I'm fine," Nico protested.

"I'll decide that, now let's go. Doctor's orders" he said before dragging the young man to the infirmary.

"You need to take better care of yourself," Will said, wrapping bandages around the other's injured arm.

"It wasn't my fault this time," Nico said with a smile.

"That doesn't make it any better, Di Angelo," Will said, frowning at him.

"Would it help if I said we won?" Nico said with a nervous grimace.

"It doesn't help, but I'm glad to see you participating in camp activities," Will said.

"Only you would be happy to see me massacre some kids in a game of capture the flag," Nico said with a smile.

"Well, it's sexy to see you out there," Will said.

"Thanks, I guess," Nico said, laughing.

"Hey, Ghost King, come down with the mortals so we can start our game of mythomagic " Will shouted.

Nico jumped from the tree he was perched on and landed perfectly on the ground.

"Hey, Lightning," Nico said with a smile, approaching the young man.

"Come on, Keyla's excited to play," Will said with a grin.

"Let's go," Nico laughed and linked hands as they walked toward the dining room.

"You look like shit," Aqualad said as he watched his friend come down the stairs.

Kid Flash had dark circles under his eyes, along with a face that looked like he hadn't slept a wink all night. His hair was scrambled like a hurricane had passed through his head, and he yawned every five steps.

"Nightmares?" Speedy asked, serving the boy a plate of bacon.

"Something like that" Kid Flash said, resting his head on his hand as he looked at the strips of bacon and the fried eggs.

Chapter 4: Ortro

Chapter Text

"Aren't you surprised by the dog's size?" Robin asked, puzzled.

"It's a little bigger than normal, but not much," Beast Boy said, smiling at the canine.

"A little?" Robin said, looking at the 5-meter-long, two-headed dog.

"It's not that unusual to see a Rottweiler a little bigger than normal, Robin," Raven shrugged.

"Am I the only one who sees it?" Robin wondered in his mind, watching the dog bark happily at him and the black-haired man pet the animal's two heads.

"Ortro" Raven read on the dog's dog tag.

"Wasn't that the mythological dog, brother of Cerberus?" Robin asked, confused.

"Yes," Cyborg said.

"Some people like to name their dogs after other mythologies," Starfire said.

"I knew one who named his dog Anubis," Beast Boy said, shrugging.

"We should find his owner and give him back," Starfire said.

"Can't we keep him?" Beast Boy asked, confused.

"He's not our Beast Boy," Raven said.

They were walking down the street as if carrying a 15-foot-tall, two-headed dog was completely normal.

Robin was starting to realize he was the only one who saw him, or that, as his friends said, everyone else saw a normal, everyday dog.

It was weird knowing that only you could see something. Dick didn't know if his hallucinations were playing tricks on him or if he had truly gone crazy. Although considering that Robin could touch both pairs of heads and that touch was something quite reliable to rely on, he began to think that something else was going on here, but Robin didn't know what.

Chapter 5: The introduction to his world

Chapter Text

"Robin, let's go" Kid Flash said, grabbing him and running away from the giant two-headed snake.

"Why are you running so slow?" Robin asked in a panic.

"I lost my super speed in favor of healing and glowing powers," Kid Flash said.

"What?" Robin asked.

"I don't know, one day I woke up and I no longer had super speed," Kid Flash said, taking a shortcut through some alleys.

"Cool," Robin said sarcastically as the two ran away from the reptile.

The giant snake didn't give up, continuing to destroy walls in favor of following them.

"Okay, I'm a little tired of running. Let's fight it," Robin said.

"Are you crazy?! We can't fight it," Kid Flash said.

"It's going to eat us anyway, so what does it matter?" Robin said, turning around and staring at the animal.

"Could you do that before?" Kid Flash asked, pointing to the crack in the ground that had emerged and swallowed the snake.

"No," Robin said.

"What's going on?" Kid Flash asked, puzzled.

"This is going to sound weird, but could your friends see the creature?" Robin asked.

"No, they told me they saw a cupcake stand," Kid Flash said.

Robin and Kid Flash looked at each other.

"My team didn't see the two-headed dog from last week," Robin said.

Kid Flash frowned.

"The civilians didn't seem too perturbed at first either," Kid Flash said.

"Either we're the only ones who can see these monsters, or something's going on," Robin said.

"Ding, ding, ding," a woman appeared with a smile.

She wore a thin red veil on her head and was dressed in a red dress.

Her chocolate-brown eyes, along with the figure of a beautiful young woman, fascinated both boys. Especially since she had appeared suddenly.

"My dears, I'm glad to see you're still together," the woman said with a soft smile.

Robin and Kid Flash looked at the girl in bewilderment and separated their hands, realizing they were still together.

"Do we know you?" Kid Flash asked.

"Not now, but you did in the past," the young woman said.

"Yes, I don't remember meeting you, miss" Robin said.

"You'll remember, young man," the girl said with a smile. "But in the meantime, I think this book may answer some of your questions."

The girl gave them a book and walked away, accompanying another woman whose back was turned.

"Are you sure this will be good for them, Hestia?" A young woman dressed in black and purple with braided hair asked as she walked away from the boys.

"Oh, don't worry, Persephone. They both be fine. After all, they still have each other," Hestia said with a smile.

Chapter 6: The Demigod's Guide

Chapter Text

Robin and Kid Flash were in the tower looking at the book that woman had given them.

Mythological Guide and Introduction to Being a Half-Blood

Have you discovered that you see things that others can't see?

Relax, you're not schizophrenic, you're just part god.

Are you missing a mom or a dad and your other parent never told you what happened to them?

Congratulations, he or she slept with a god and that's how you were born.

"I'm pretty sure my parents didn't have other partners," Robin said, frowning.

"Same," Kid Flash said.

The two turned the chapter and continued reading.

Are both of your parents still alive, or are they dead, but they didn't have other partners?

Congratulations, maybe you're a reincarnated demigod.

Kid Flash and Robin looked at each other and continued looking at the page.

Have you suddenly gained abilities you didn't have before and don't understand why?

Congratulations! You now have the powers of your divine father or mother.

"Can my divine father make a hole in the ground?" Robin asked.

"And why do I glow?" Kid Flash asked, pouting.

That are the powers you have in your past life

With reincarnation, there are benefits like:

Having another chance at life

Having powers

And having the gods visit you, since they're bored with modernity

And disadvantages like:

Monsters coming after you again

The camp having moved

And the satyrs no longer being able to come after you because you already went to the camp once, now it's your turn to find it.

Good luck and stay alive.

"How enlightening," Kid Flash said with a grimace.

"So it seems we can see monsters because... we're... demigods..." Robin said.

"Reincarnated demigods," Kid Flash said.

"Ideal," Robin said, with a ton of sarcasm in his voice.

"Let's read the mythology guide instead," Kid Flash said.

Chapter 7: Apollo and flying chickens

Chapter Text

"Will, wake up!" said an unfamiliar voice.

"Will!"

"WAKE UP! THEY'RE ENTERING THE TOWER!" Robin's voice shouted.

Kid Flash jumped up, his heart racing.

----

Robin stared at the scene in disbelief.

There were mermaids in the city.

Not those half-fish, half-woman creatures, no, those were the Nereids.

Mermaids are half-bird, half-woman.

"What the hell is that?" Kid Flash asked over the phone.

"Mermaids," Robin said.

"Weren't those beautiful women with tails and related to Aqualad?" Kid Flash asked.

"Those are the Nereids. Didn't you read the book?" Robin asked.

"No," Kid Flash said.

I was more busy admiring you. He didn't say that

"God, I hate losing my super speed," Kid Flash complained.

"You want me to come after you?" Robin asked

"How?" Kid Flash asked

"Where are you?" Robin asked

"The garage," Kid Flash said

Kid Flash looked around, confused as to how Robin was supposed to go after him when he emerged from the shadow around the corner.

"Shadow travel, I just discovered it," the young man shrugged.

He grabbed Kid Flash and suddenly they were on the tower watching the winged women fly over Jump City.

"Are you okay?" Kid Flash asked as he saw the young man kneel on the ground.

"Yeah, yeah, don't worry..."

"Robin!" Kid Flash screamed worriedly when he saw the boy faint.

"Shit" He said grabbing the other in his arms.

"Stupid, don't use skills you don't know, idiot," Kid Flash said, putting the boy on the couch.

"Δοξάστε τον Κύριο Θεό του Ήλιου, παρακαλώ κάντε αυτόν τον μαλάκα να ανακτήσει τη δύναμή του πριν τον "Praise the Lord God of the Sun, please make this asshole regain his strength before I kill him," Kid Flash said, placing his hands on the young man's body as they began to glow.

A blurry yellow entity appeared and smiled at Wally's glowing hands.

"You're still as worried about your boyfriend as ever. Keep an eye on him, honey. Children of Hades tend to be self-destructive," the figure said before disappearing.

"You're so stupid, Di Angelo," Kid Flash said, frowning at Robin as he saw him wake up.

"What did you call me?" Robin said, holding his head with one of his hands.

"Don't scare me like that again, Robin," Kid Flash said, putting his hands on her hips.

"Sorry, I wanted to test out my new ability. I guess I should have trained it a bit before trying to travel further than from the living room to my room," Robin said, giving him an apologetic smile.

"What does it do?" Kid Flash asked curiously.

"It allows me to move through the shadows, according to what Hades explained to me," Robin said.

"Did you talk to Hades?" Kid Flash asked.

"More like, he appeared in my dreams and explained a little bit of everything to me," Robin said.

"Did you talk to your divine father?" Robin asked.

"Just now, apparently I'm the son of Apollo and I can heal by praying to him. Yay," Kid Flash said without enthusiasm.

"You called me Di Angelo?" Robin asked.

"You know Apollo called you my boyfriend," Kid Flash said, ignoring the other.

Not even he knew why he had called him by that last name.

"It's...possible..." Robin began.

"That...we..." Kid Flash continued.

"Would we have dated in our past lives?" They both asked at the same time.

"No, right? It's not possible" Robin said nervously, questioning the sun god's veracity.

"Do you remember that woman? The one who taught us about this?" Kid Flash asked.

"Yes" Robin said.

"She said she was glad to see us still together" Kid Flash said.

Robin stared at him "No."

"I think it's a very good possibility, dear" Wally said.

"Don't call me that, don't say it, don't even think that way" Robin said.

"Is dating me so bad?" Kid Flash asked jokingly.

"I don't need any more drama in my life" Robin said.

"Okay, okay" Kid Flash said, raising his hands. "Do you think we should start training with our superpowers?"

"I never thought I'd hear you say that" Robin said with an amused smile.

They heard a bird cry.

"THE NEREIDS!" They both said, having forgotten about the flying chickens.

Chapter 8: Gym training

Chapter Text

Robin was in his gym, ready to train.

Kid Flash had come for the same reason.

They both wanted to see what they could do.

"Okay, I've done some research, and technically, if you're the son of Apollo, you have to be good at archery, music, and haikus," Robin said.

"What's Hades good at?" Kid Flash asked.

"Dead, jewels, moving the earth like Terra, and sleep, apparently," Robin said.

"Okay," Kid Flash said.

"I still prefer hand-to-hand combat," Robin said.

"Shall I practice my target practice while you practice your moves?" Kid Flash asked.

Robin shrugged.

Wally grabbed his bow and quiver and started shooting.

He hit the targets one by one. They had been pretty good shots for someone who had never picked up a bow in his life. Almost all of them were in the center.

When he ran out of arrows, he turned to see what Robin was doing.

"Where did he get a sword?" Wally wondered in his mind.

It was completely black, and if Wally looked at it for too long, he'd start to get chills, so he decided to look at Robin and his technique.

The young man moved the sword sharply and decisively, without giving in and with a light movement of his feet. It was as if he were dancing instead of stabbing dolls. His steps seemed ethereal.

Kid Flash was impressed by what he saw.

Had the room gotten hotter, or was it because his face felt red?

"Do you like what you see?" Robin asked, laughing.

"Uh...I..." Kid Flash stuttered.

"Relax, just kidding," Robin said. "How about your archery?"

"Good, good. I wanted to ask you, where did you get that sword?" Kid Flash asked.

"It appeared in my hand while I was moving the dolls. I was going to test Geokinesis," Robin said, waving his hand, causing the black sword to evaporate from existence.

"Well, let me tell you, you were amazing," Kid Flash said.

"Thanks," Robin said.

Was that a blush on his face? Nah, Wally was probably imagining it.

Chapter 9: Geokinesis

Notes:

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this book. I've been busy with other projects. Long live our gay demigods.

Chapter Text

Robin and Kid Flash were in a forest.

They were surrounded by trees and far from civilization, testing Robin's powers.

"Okay, Robin, focus" said Kid Flash, watching the young man sit in the Indian position on top of a giant rock.

Robin had his eyes closed and was concentrating.

"I don't think this will work" said the young man with his eyes closed.

They had been like this for an hour and hadn't made any progress.

"Well, dear, progress isn't always linear" said Kid Flash "It probably took you a long time to master your martial arts too"

"I mean, yes, it took me years of failing and continuing to master the art of hitting people" said Robin, still with his eyes closed.

"Well, that's it. You're not going to get everything in one night" said Kid Flash

"But you managed to heal me without even knowing what you were doing" said Robin

"Yes, because Apollo helped me. Now remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, and you should take a deep breath" said Kid Flash.

Robin repositioned himself, still with his eyes closed, moved his legs, since being in the same position for hours was very uncomfortable, and really concentrated. He let his mind connect with the earth, becoming one with matter, noticing people walking, animals running, and rocks moving.

The boy stopped hearing Kid Flash's voice and began to feel nature around him. He didn't realize he had begun to levitate or that the rock he was standing on had begun to fly through the air.

Kid Flash was yelling at him, but it seemed Robin wasn't listening.

The boy opened his eyes only for them to glow with white light and a pile of bronze began to emerge from the ground, the shiny metal began to gather above the boy's head and began to take shape.

Robin came down from the sky with a shining bronze sword and handed it to a gaping Kid Flash.

"Here, a gift" Robin said with a smile

"You've got to be kidding me" Kid Flash said "There's no way you've mastered your power in such a short time"

"What can I say? I'm good at everything I do" Robin said with a smile.

"Dude, I'm going to start to envy you" Kid Flash said, accepting the young man's gift.

"Besides, have you always had black eyes?" the redhead asked curiously.

"No, they're brown, what are you talking about?" Robin asked

Kid Flash showed him his reflection with a hand mirror he had in his pocket, and Robin saw how his eyes had gone from light brown to dark black in the course of a few hours.

"What's going on?" Robin asked, puzzled.

"Do you think we're getting back to the look we had before we were reincarnated, or is that just what happens when you're claimed for the second time?" Kid Flash asked

"I think I want to take a nap" Robin said

"Well, come on. We've got a long way to go home, and we'll have to walk" Kid Flash said, resting his arm on the dark-haired man's shoulders as he pointed the way to the tower.

Chapter 10: Necromancy

Chapter Text

Nico was in a forest; he felt eyes on him.

He knew someone was following him, but he didn't know who or why.

The boy continued walking until he reached an open space.

"Show yourself" he said in a deep, authoritative voice.

A woman whose face couldn't be seen, dressed in black and hooded, looked like the female version of a Dementor from the Harry Potter movies.

"Mormo" Nico said, frowning.

"Hello, dear" said a sweet voice coming from the hooded being "Did you miss me?"

"Not at all, Aunt" Nico said with a smile, drawing his sword.

The fight began, as the son of Hades moved quickly, as if teleporting, dodging the being's attempts to eat him alive. He used his geokinesis to raise large walls made of rocks.

He ended up trapping Mormo among the rocks, only to then leap through the hole he'd left at the top and plunge his sword through his chest. The creature evaporated into black shavings, and the rocks fell to the sides and melted back into the ground.

Nico smiled and heard applause.

The young man turned his head to find a very handsome, pale man with an almost grayish complexion smiling at him. He was wearing very luxurious clothes, not to mention the many jewels he wore.

"Well done, son. You got rid of her, but you'd better wake up. Your boyfriend is looking for you" Hades said before snapping his fingers.

Robin woke up with a start and clutched his sheets in his fists as he tried to control his anxious breathing "What?" he whispered

A knock sounded at his door, and Robin's eyes shifted toward it.

"Robin?" asked a voice that the Boy Wonder had started hearing more these past few weeks "Are you awake? I have something to show you"

Robin relaxed a little. They weren't in danger.

The dark-haired young man lifted his sheets to get out of bed and walked over to the door, opening it and letting the young man in before closing it again. He pushed the boy onto the bed and got back in. It was cold, and it was too early to be talking about these things in the hallway. Robin didn't even really know what time it was.

"Wow, a Robin without a mask. That's a miracle" Wally said, smiling at the young man.

"Dick" Robin said.

"Excuse me?!" Wally said indignantly

"My name is Dick. Well, legally it's Richard, but I like the diminutive, so I go by Dick when I introduce myself to people" the dark-haired man explained

"A" Wally said

An awfully slow thought process later.

"Wait a minute, you just told me your secret identity!" Wally said

"My last name is Grayson-Wayne. Now I've told you one of my best-kept secrets" Dick said with a mischievous grin on his face

"Wayne, as in Bruce Wayne" Wally said

"Yep" Dick said, stretching his head

"Bruce Wayne is Batman?" Wally asked

"Yeah, how did you come to that conclusion?" Dick asked, amused.

"It's impossible for you to sneak out every night to fight crime with a furry bat without your father knowing, especially living in a mansion with state-of-the-art technology" Wally said

"So either your father knew and let you do it anyway, or Bruce Wayne is Batman" Wally said

"Wow, Bruce Wayne is Batman!" Wally said, impressed.

"Wait" Wally said suddenly, then started looking around nervously "He's not going to turn into Batman and kill me, right?"

"Nope" Dick said, amused. "Especially since I blocked him from the tower's security system a long time ago, and believe me, it took me a lot of effort to block Batman from my security system"

Wally breathed a sigh of relief "Well, I'm glad your father doesn't want my head"

"Relax, you'll get him eventually" Robin said, amused.

"Why do you say that?" Wally asked.

"He didn't like you before, and now that we're friends again, he's going to hate you" Dick said with a smile

Wally made a frustrated noise and flopped down onto the comforter

"By the way" Dick said

"Yeah?" Wally asked.

"Why do you have blond hair?" Robin asked, puzzled.

Wally grabbed a lock of blond hair and twirled it between his fingers as he stared at him.

"That's what I came to show you. I woke up this morning and I had blonde streaks in my red hair" Wally said, embarrassed.

"Umm, they look good on you. They look like a sunset. The yellow streaks match the reds and give your hair a special glow" Dick said, leaning closer to look at the blonde streaks that had magically appeared in the other's hair

It was a good thing Robin was busy inspecting his hair because he didn't know how he was going to explain to his friend that his face was the same shade of red as a tomato.

How could Robin say things like that and not expect the redhead to continue to fall in love with him?

God, this impossible crush on his enemy was proving very hard to hide when said enemy became your friend and started flattering you and saying nice things.

"By the way, Hades was in my dream. He told me you were coming. He called you my boyfriend" Robin said as he stopped staring at the other boy's hair to look him in the eyes.

"Really?" Wally said

"Yeah" Robin said seriously

"Interesting" Wally said

"Yeah" Robin said flatly

---

Robin was back in the gym, only this time they weren't here to train acrobatics or their muscles, and they weren't in the tower gym. No. They were in the gym three cities away from Jump City.

They had come by car and rented the gym so they could use it themselves. They had recently discovered that mortals didn't see the same way they did, so they could use their powers without the army coming to take them and experiment on them.

"So what are we going to do?" Wally asked.

"As a son of Hades, I'm supposed to have control over the dead" Dick said

"Okay..." Wally said

"Today we're going to see what I can do" Richard said, pulling out a purple-covered book

"If you want to dig up the dead, isn't a cemetery better than a gym?" Wally asked

"Blonde and redheaded, always an idiot" Dick said with a friendly smile

"Hey!" Wally said, arms crossed and frowning

"A graveyard isn't better because this time we're going to summon something, not kill it" Dick said with a smile

"I still say a graveyard is better" Wally said

"Shut up and watch" Dick said

---

"I don't see anything" Wally said, sitting in the Indian position on the gym floor

They had been there for four hours and hadn't made any progress when it came to bringing the dead back to life

"I'm about to give up" Richard said, throwing the book to his partner

Wally snatched the book out of the air and began flipping through it

"Well, I don't want to be a spoilsport, but this book is by Raven, and as far as I know, you're not half-demon" Wally said, looking at the pages containing spells and incantations

"Well, I don't know where to start" Richard said, arms crossed, lying on the gym floor, pouting.

Wally stood up and approached the young man.

The redhead grabbed the boy by the waist and put him on his shoulders like a sack of potatoes "Come on, I know I saw a sign for a cemetery somewhere"

---

The car quietly entered the cemetery area, Wally leaving it parked next to some dumpsters.

The boy smiled as he turned off the engine and applied the handbrake.

"Let's go" he said with a smile.

The two boys got out of the vehicle and started walking to the black fence. Luckily, the place was empty and the gate was open. Obviously, since people couldn't visit the dead if the cemeteries were closed.

The graves were in the back, all placed on the ground and sealed in place by metal fences around the stretch of earth that separated them from the church.

The two boys entered the plot and walked to the center of the garden.

"Okay, so what do you propose now?" Richard asked, arms crossed.

"Walk around the cemetery" Wally said

Robin walked around the cemetery, looking at the inscriptions of the dead.

"Did you feel anything?" Wally asked when Dick returned to his side.

"No" Dick said

Wally smiled and said "Okay, then..."

Robin didn't understand how this was going to help him, but he listened to his friend and sat on the ground with his hands flat on the earth and his eyes closed.

"Feel the earth beneath you, dig deep so you can achieve the true objective of this mission: to communicate with the dead" Wally's voice flowed around him

"I don't want to communicate with the dead, I want to dig them up" Richard said

"We're not grave robbers, Robin" Wally said

Robin hoped this would work

"Focus on the spirit of the dead person, look at it, grab it, talk to it" Wally said as he continued walking around the black-haired boy

Richard concentrated, noticing the ground beneath him as if he were digging a tunnel to reach the coffin, but instead of finding a dead body, or rather a pile of bones, he found some kind of tunnel. He followed it only to find an empty cave.

When he returned to his subconscious, he opened his eyes and pouted "I don't think that worked"

"Look behind you" Wally said, mouth agape, pointing behind the black-haired boy

Robin turned his head only to find three skeletons around a red table with the Coca-Cola logo on it, playing a game of cards.

"Do you mind? We were playing UNO" said the skeleton on the right

"Yeah, and I was going to win" said the one in the middle

The two boys looked at each other.

"Good job, Ghost King, but please send us back to our hiding place" said the one on the left

Robin raised his hands and then lowered them. The skeletons next to the table and the cards were buried in the ground as if they were quicksand.

Robin knew they had returned to that giant hole, which the black-haired boy now knew wasn't empty, but rather three skeletons were playing cards there without anyone knowing.

"Wow" Wally said "That was a surreal experience"

Robin grabbed the redhead's hands and started laughing and spinning

"I did it. You're a great tutor, Kid Flash" Robin said

Wally continued spinning and smiled at the other's joy

He had helped him, hadn't he?

"Don't give me all the credit. You're a great student, Robin" Wally said

Robin hugged him "Thanks"

"You're welcome" Wally said with a smile, hugging the other tightly

Chapter 11: Tutoring

Chapter Text

"Okay, I'm not sure what you want, but with your build, I don't think you can have much of an opinion" Robin said

"God, what's got you in such a bad mood, man?" Beast Boy asked

"I didn't sleep well" Robin said

"Well, don't take it out on us" Raven said

Robin gave him the middle finger

"Here, I made some coffee" Starfire said, handing him a cup

Robin took a sip of the drink and mentally grimaced at the overly sweet taste

"Eat up, motherfucker, and stop grumbling" Cyborg told him, placing a plate of pancakes, banana slices, and blueberries in front of him

"Thanks" Robin said, grabbing his fork and knife to start cutting the pancakes

His friends smiled at their leader eating. He might be an insufferable grump, but he was his insufferable grump.

"So, is Kid Flash going to show up at the tower today?" Raven asked

"He's been coming around quite a bit lately" Starfire commented

"And you don't throw him out the window anymore" Beast Boy said thoughtfully

"Have you resolved your disputes?" Cyborg asked

"Yeah" Robin said, spearing a piece of banana on his fork before putting it in his mouth

"Cool" they all said, continuing to eat breakfast quietly

"Do we have anything to do today?" Cyborg asked when he finished washing the dishes

"KF and I are going to train. Do you want to come?" Robin asked

"What kind of training?" Beast Boy asked

"Hand-to-hand combat and sword fighting" Robin said

"Why?" Starfire asked, interested.

"Since he lost his super speed, he now has to fight without powers, so I'm teaching him my ways" Robin said

"I'd love to go, but the car and my cannons need repairs" Cyborg said

"I have to take Silkie to the vet" Starfire said

"I can't. I promised my father I'd go with him to look at dresses for that stupid Underworld ball he wants to take me to" Raven said

"If you could let me know about the sword fight, I'd be happy to go" Beast Boy said

"Great" Robin said with a smile

The five of them split up in different directions in the living room.

---

Wally arrived at the gym in his best workout clothes and entered just as he saw Robin perform a double backflip

"Agile as always" Kid Flash said with a smile

"And you're late as always" Robin said "Looks like losing your super speed didn't make you on time anyway"

"There was traffic" Kid Flash said

"At sea?" Robin said

"Yeah" Kid Flash said

Robin shook his head, but indicated that he can pass

"So, how do we start?" Kid Flash asked

"First, we'll start with some warm-up exercises" Robin said

An hour later, they had warmed up, and Robin was teaching him some techniques for hitting without hurting himself too much

"Okay, attack me" Robin said

"Are you sure?" Kid Flash asked doubtfully

"Come on, where's that bravado I liked so much?" Robin said with a smile

Kid Flash moved and tried to attack Robin. He ended up flipped over on the floor and tried to move, but his arm was twisted at an awkward angle and his head was resting on the mat. A shoe was digging into his back, and Robin smirked

"It's not that easy to fight without powers, is it?" Robin said

"Yes, yes, I accept my karma. Now get off me" Kid Flash said

Robin let him up and began to explain and teach him how to do some moves and how to defeat an opponent

"Well, I think that's enough training for today" Robin said, grabbing a towel to wipe off his sweat

"Already? We've only been here two and a half hours" Kid Flash said

"Don't worry, we'll train more" Robin said with a smile "but not today, another day"

"Besides, we still have to teach you how to sword fight. And that reminds me, I have to go find Beast Boy" Robin said

"Why?" Kid Flash asked, puzzled.

"He said he wanted to try this specialty too" Robin said, running to the door

15 minutes later, Beast Boy and Kid Flash were staring at a smiling Robin, who was balancing three swords on the tip of his index finger

"Does it scare you too when he does that?" Beast Boy asked Kid Flash

"Only when he uses dangerous objects" Kid Flash said, looking at the tip of the sword stabbing into Robin's finger

The raven-haired boy dropped the swords and passed them to his companions "Okay, guys, let's begin"

After a three-hour explanation of the art of sword fighting and some demonstrations with dolls, Robin finally began to teach them

"Beast Boy, you need to grip the sword firmly, like when you fight with pool noodles with a cyborg" Robin said as he passed by

"Pool noodles aren't pointy" Beast Boy replied

"Kid Flash, that wrist movement is wrong" Robin said

The raven-haired boy approached and grabbed his wrist and fingers to change their position. Then he held his arm and showed him how to do the movement without damaging his wrist in the process

"How are you so good at this?" Beast Boy asked, watching Robin correct his stance to stop an attack

"Well, Batman is a man versed in many disciplines, and Grandpa likes fencing" Robin said with a smile

They ended the class with a friendly spar, where Robin knocked them down with grace and elegance

"God, I'm hungry" Kid Flash said

"All that exercise has worked up an appetite" Beast Boy said

"It's almost dinnertime. We can make something" Robin said

"You can do it, I'm exhausted" Beast Boy said

"I think even my toes are sore" Kid Flash said

Robin laughed "Come on, let's see what's in the kitchen"

The three of them walked into the kitchen to find Star, Raven, and Cyborg sitting at the table

"How was your afternoon, guys?" Robin asked

"I'm going to kill my father" Raven said with a frown

"Silkie's fine" Starfire said with a smile

"The cannons and the car are fixed" Cyborg said

There was still a grease stain on his face, and Robin threw him a rag to wipe it off

"So, what do you want for dinner?" Robin asked

"I have no idea" they all said, tired of thinking

"I'll make dumplings with potatoes" Robin said

"Great, make mine with tofu" Beast Boy said

"👍🏻" Robin said

After 45 minutes, everyone had a plate in front of them, steaming and smelling delicious

"It's hot, so let it cool" Robin said

They all stuffed the hot food into their mouths and started blowing on it

"Or don't, you're the ones who'll burn your mouths anyway" Robin said, looking at his friends.

When the food cooled and they could enjoy it, everyone moaned happily

"It's so good" Beast Boy said, teary-eyed

"It tastes heavenly" Cyborg said

"This is why I don't cook, so a 5-star chef can do it" Raven said

"You've outdone yourself, buddy" Starfire said

"Robin, please, let me come eat here every day. I'm sick of takeout and ramen" Kid Flash said

Robin laughed "Don't you cook in the east tower?"

"Not for everyone. Normally everyone makes their own food. We don't get up at the same time or eat at the same time" Kid Flash said, kneeling on the floor "Please"

"I'll give you a delivery man's number" Robin said

"I'm poor, Robin 😭😭" Kid Flash said

"But I'm not. Besides, you don't have to cook and it'll be free" Robin said

"You're the best. Please include the others, or they'll kill me and keep my food" Kid Flash said, giving him a bright smile

"Yes, yes, now eat" Robin said, hoping it wouldn't be noticeable how his cheeks were burning.

Chapter 12: Senses of injury

Chapter Text

Richard knew he shouldn't be walking down the street with a stab wound in his right side and a twisted arm.

He had his arm hidden under his sweatshirt and was discreetly holding it with his hand.

He could feel the poorly applied gauze wasn't doing much to prevent him from bleeding out.

He knew he should be on his way home or to a hospital, but instead, he was walking through the streets of Gotham in the rain because Bruce had decided to call him to ask him to come home, and Dick had been stupid enough to take the bus instead of his motorcycle like usual.

Which had led to him being stabbed in the side while saving a girl from kidnapping and getting a broken arm thanks to an aggressive man who wanted to take advantage of a young woman who was passing by.

Dick bumped into a hooded person who said "excuse me" as he ran by, but that didn't help him suppress his grimace of pain, as the man collided with his bad arm.

A puddle that was too big and some dirty sneakers weren't enough to keep him from slipping and falling on his ass.

"There, let me help you, pretty boy" said a voice that, if it weren't for the fact that Robin was feeling pain everywhere and his ears were ringing, he would have recognized sooner

He gave his good hand to the stranger who helped him up and said "Thank you" before looking into his face

He shouldn't have, because now he was staring into a deep frown that spoke of disappointment

"What are you doing in Gotham?" Dick asked the redhead who was still holding his hand

"Tks tks tks. Why aren't you in a hospital?" Wally said "You're bleeding out"

"I'll survive" Richard said, used to it

"Bullshit" Wally said, dragging him to the nearest hospital

As he left with the doctor, Wally was covering the patient's reports, and Dick came out to be greeted with a frown from the redhead

"Okay, Richard, everything's ready. Say hi to your father for me" the doctor told him

"I'll do it, Leslie" Richard said, smiling as the other man escorted him out

"What are you doing in Gotham?" Richard asked as they both walked down the street toward the mansion

"College stuff" Wally said

"I don't think you're in college" Richard said, surprised.

"Aren't you?" Wally asked.

"I finished school when I was 16" Dick said.

"Oh" Wally said "Didn't you get a degree or something?"

"No, I went to Jump City and formed a superhero team" Richard said with a smile

"Oh" Wally said "So how did that go?"

"Pretty good. I have a crazy but loyal group of friends and an idiot who steals my food and was my boyfriend in a past life" Dick said

Wally playfully elbowed him "You offered to feed me"

Richard laughed as he opened the golden gates with his hands after showing his ID to the camera

"Well, I hope your father didn't kill me" Wally said

"If he does, he'd break his only rule, and then you could visit your other father-in-law" Dick said, amused

"Ahhh, shitty humor at my expense, I've missed it" Wally said jokingly

The two boys walked down the path, which was actually quite long, and came across some rather long stairs

"Fuck, you get a workout walking here" Wally said

"That's why I almost always come here by motorcycle" Dick said with a smile

Wally managed to catch his breath in time to turn around when the gates opened, revealing a beautifully landscaped entrance.

"Fuck" Wally whispered, impressed

Dick smiled, and the two entered the room. They greeted Alfred and met Bruce in the dining room.

"Richard" Bruce said with a smile, approaching to give his son a hug "And... a friend" he said when he saw Wally

"Hello, Mr. Wayne" Wally said

"He knows" Dick said to his father

His shoulder was squeezed, and Dick grimaced. Bruce stopped squeezing when he saw the grimace on his son's face and looked at the redhead with blonde highlights.

"Call me Bruce, Wally" Bruce said

"Damn, Batman knows my name" Wally said

"I know a lot about you, West" Bruce said

"That's not scary at all" Wally said fearfully

---

"So tell me, how did you know I had a broken rib and internal bleeding?" Bruce asked after Leslie discharged him a few hours after Alfred took him to the hospital

"Sensations of injury, sir" Wally said

"I thought you had super speed" Bruce said, getting into the car.

"Remember I told you I've developed some interesting abilities" Dick said

"Yeah" Bruce said

"Well then" Dick said with a smile

"Turns out they're our reincarnated children" said a pale figure with a smile, dressed in a black suit, some silver rings, and a black cape with silver embroidery.

Next to him was a smiling golden figure wearing a white toga, holding a bow and aiming an arrow at Bruce

Alfred continued driving, not noticing the hustle and bustle behind him

"Put that down" Hades said to Apollo

"You're no fun" Apollo said, but lowered his bow

"I feel like I should be a little more concerned about these strange visitors" Richard said

"Nah, just bothering you. It was on the way" Apollo said with a smile

"Just stopping by to say hi" Hades said

"In a moving car with Dick's other adoptive father in it?" Wally said with a raised eyebrow

"The other! You have another adoptive father?" Bruce asked, puzzled.

"I'm not really sure" said Dick

He hadn't yet researched how this reincarnation thing worked with his genes

"Technically speaking, you're still our biological children, but you're also your parents' children here. It's like you have three genes" said Hades

"The X from your mother, the Y from your father, and the demigod blood from reincarnation. Divine blood doesn't mix with normal blood" said Apollo

"I'm totally lost" said Bruce

"Yeah, Dad, we didn't explain this completely" said Dick

"It's a little complicated to explain, really" said Wally

"Especially without proof to back it all up" said Dick

"Basically, these two" said Hades, pointing at Dick and Wally "are our children from another time, reincarnated. They were given a second chance at life. They discovered this recently when one of the monsters that normally chases demigods decided to go after them"

"Which is a bit odd, since reincarnated demigods usually live a quiet life until they're 40 or 50, remembering nothing or having anything magical happen to them. Monsters tend to leave them alone when they smell demigods from previous lives" Apollo said

"But considering one of them is my son, I'd say they didn't give a damn and wanted to go for the big prize" Hades said

"Like when they went after Percy" Apollo said with a smile "I'm glad he managed to send a message to the other monsters and be able to live his life peacefully"

"Yeah, but I don't see the need to flood half of New York for that" Hades said

"He was always dramatic and had a grand entrance" Apollo said, amused

"Uh-huh" Bruce said, seeing how both gods had somewhat forgotten they were here

"Percy was reincarnated too?" Dick asked. He had been leaning on Wally when he heard that name, and the redhead ran a gentle hand down his arm to reassure him.

"Yes, he did" Apollo said with a smile

"Then he died, and was reincarnated, and died again. Now he's happily living with his girlfriend in the Elysian Fields. It seems he still needed to accomplish things in the mortal world before he could be at peace with himself and finally die" Hades said

The two boys blinked at their smiling divine parents

"Well, with all that said, you have questions?" Apollo said, looking at the millionaire who looked at them with disbelief on his features.

"Well... uh... I don't really know where to begin" Bruce said

"No matter, we have time" Hades said with a kind smile on his face
