Summary:

After Frisk and Kid manage to break the Barrier and free the monsters from the Underground, the humans and monsters of Ebott must learn to get along.

Heheheheheh, good luck with that...

Notes:

Chapter 1: A New Life

Notes:

So, I'm going to give the arcs of this story names, so as to make it easier for all of us to track what's happening. However, I will be hiding them in puzzles, so that I don't accidentally give spoilers. In other words, if you get a spoiler from these hints, that's on you, for not listening. At the end of the arc, I'll reveal the arc's name properly. Here's the first puzzle:

The darkness hides in the shadows
The plot thickens immediately
Through the rubbing of elbows
Something is wrong that shouldn't be.

To know the name of this arc
Listen to this riddle, my friend
It shall reveal the name to those
Who wish to know the arc's end

What is the absence of pureness?
Where nothing is as it should be?
What can be used to harness
The very culmination of your being?

Two words are what you seek
Don't be shy, don't be meek.
Use your heads to find the way
And you shall be right this day.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Frisk, Kid, Chara and Asriel were all standing in front of their new school. Ebott Elementary. They would all be entering fifth grade.

Ready? Frisk thought to Kid.

First time I’ll see the inside of this school since before we LOADed to go help Alphys. Kid replied. So, not sure.

Numerous kids, monster and human, all walked into the school. Frisk, excited to go to school with their friends and siblings, started walking forward, with Kid, Chara and Asriel following.

They quickly made it to their classroom, which… was almost full. It was mostly humans, but there were plenty of monsters as well.

Soon enough, their teacher walked in. Their teacher was a man in his forties who, in the last timeline, had always made sure his students treated each other well, including Kid. Any time a student would try to bully Kid, either for their armlessness, their clumsiness, or them not being human, Mr. Orion would give them detention. For this alone, Mr. Orion had quickly become Frisk and Kid’s favorite teacher.

“Alright, so you guys have no doubt noticed our new students,” Mr. Orion greeted. “For that reason, I’ll be calling on each of you to introduce yourselves. Names, pronouns, at least one hobby, and something interesting about you. I’ll start. My name is Harvey Orion, I go by he/him, and one of my hobbies is gardening. I’ve actually won the gardening competition on my street every year since I moved here. As many of you can imagine, that’s caused quite the dispute between me and some of my more prideful neighbors.” He smirked at that, before moving on. “Now, we’ll go in alphabetical order, based on last names. So… first up, Aaron Aer… am I reading this right?”

“Yeah, my mom’s… not very creative,” Aaron said.

“Alright then… Aaron Aeron.”

“Hey. I’m Aaron, I go by he/him, and I like playing video games. As for something interesting about me… I was at Mount Ebott when the monsters were freed.”

“Thank you, Mr. Aeron. Now, let’s see… Karly Benson.”

“Hey~” a shrill and annoying voice came. Then, the owner of that voice coughed, before saying, in a MUCH more normal voice, “Okay, nevermind, let’s just ignore that… Anyway, I’m Karly, I use she/them, and I like cooking. Something interesting about me i-”

“What parent lets a ten-year-old cook?” an actual shrill and annoying voice came from the back of the room.

“Rebecca, enough. Karly, continue?” Mr. Orion scolded.

“Thank you, Mr. Orion. Something interesting about me is that I made my family breakfast this morning, just to surprise my parents.”

“Thank you, Ms. Benson. Next up, we have Evan Bonehunter.”

A dog monster stood up this time. Frisk instantly knew he was Doggo’s son.

“Hey, I’m Evan. As you can see, I’m a dog monster. I go by he/him, and I like playing tabletop roleplaying games like DND. As for something interesting, my father was part of the Royal Guard back in the Underground before it disbanded.” Frisk nodded subtly. They remembered that Doggo was in a Sentry station when they met him.

“Thank you, Mr. Bonehunter. We don’t have anyone with a ‘c’ last name, so we’re on to ‘d’s. First up is Fiona Darkora.”

This one was a shadow elemental monster.

“Yo, I’m Fiona. I go by they/them, and, as you can see, I’m a shadow elemental monster. I actually play with Evan in his DND games because we share a lot of hobbies. Something interesting… Well, I can meld with shadows and slip in cracks so small, not even water and air could get through.”

“Thank you, Mx. Darkora. Next up, Asriel Dreemurr.”

“Hey,” Asriel greeted, standing up. “I’m…” he then leaned towards Frisk and Chara and whispered, “is our family still considered royalty?” Frisk and Chara nodded, causing Asriel to stand back up. “I’m Prince Asriel Dreemurr of the Monsters, and I go by he/him! I… I really don’t have any hobbies right now, due to my interesting fact. I’m technically a hundred years old, but I spent most of that dead, and the last ten or so as a SOULless flower.”

“...How did you become a SOULless flower, and how are you no longer said flower?” Mr. Orion asked, confused and concerned.

“I can reveal the first question now, but the second can’t be revealed. Anyway, so… Actually, I’ll let Chara go first, and we can explain together.”

“...Very well. Next up, Chara Dreemurr.”

“Greetings,” Chara said. “I’m Prinx Chara Dreemurr of the Monsters, and I go by they/them. I’m in the same boat as Azzy regarding hobbies, as well as reason. Almost. I’m also technically a hundred years old, but I spent most of that as a wandering SOUL, until about four-ish days ago… give or take some for temporal distortion.” That last part was added in a mutter that only Frisk, Asriel and Kid could hear. “Anyway, myself and Azzy can explain how we got into our situations, but not out. That’s confidential. So, about a hundred years ago, give or take a few days, I fell into the Underground. Asriel found me and took me to his home, where King Asgore Dreemurr and then-Queen Toriel Dreemurr helped me. They later adopted me. About a year later, I… I came up with… a plan. A plan to… to show Asriel that humans were horrible. It backfired.”

“That plan involved Chara poisoning themself with flowers, and I would then absorb their SOUL. I did this willingly, even if I hated it, because they portrayed it as an attempt to free everyone. Then, I would carry their corpse to a bed of flowers in their hometown.”

“...The people thought Azzy had killed me, as I’d expected, but… they tried to kill him, in turn. Again, I expected this… but I didn’t expect Azzy to… to retreat. I thought he’d at least defend himself. Instead, he took my body back to the Underground… where he Fell Down, turning into dust that scattered all over Dad’s throne room.” Many kids had tears in their eyes at this. Even Frisk had to hold Kid close for comfort, despite having heard this story before. “...My SOUL accidentally wrapped around his, keeping it from shattering, but… his body was gone.”

“Around ten years ago, the Royal Scientist, Alphys, had the idea to inject monsters with DETERMINATION, something every human SOUL has in some amount, in an attempt to harness SOUL power to destroy the Barrier. The thought process was as follows; humans cannot absorb human SOULs, and monsters cannot absorb monster SOULs, so she needed to create something… that had neither.”

“However, SOULs cannot be made artificially, so it had to be made SOULless. She used a flower from Dad’s garden, and injected it with DETERMINATION, giving it no SOUL, but the will to live.”

“This flower was believed to have been a failure, but then… I awoke. I awoke as that flower.”

“Also, side note, monsters are not capable of holding DETERMINATION. It… causes them to melt. It’s… not pretty. At all.”

“...Well. With that out of the way, we’re onto our next… students? Why…?” Mr. Orion asked confusedly.

“We’ll explain once you call on us,” Frisk replied.

“...Alright. Frisk Dreemurr and Monster Kid Raptora.”

“Thank you, Mr. Orion,” Frisk said. “I’m Prinx Frisk Dreemurr of the Monsters. I go by they/them, and, honestly, I’m the only Dreemurr kid to not have been dead for most of my existence.”

“And I’m Prinx Consort Monster Kid Raptora of the Monsters. I also go by they/them.”

“My hobbies are playing video games and cooking.”

“And mine are playing video games and crafting things.”

“I’m sorry if this seems insensitive, but how can you hold the controller or the parts needed to craft things?” Karly asked, their voice genuinely curious and not malicious.

“Nah, you’re good. I was waiting for someone to ask that question.” Kid then summoned a pair of spectral, DETERMINATION-red arms, attached at his shoulders.

“Anyway, as for something interesting about us?” Frisk said, giggling slightly. “Well, for some odd reason, Kid and I share a pair of SOULs, instead of each having our own.”

 “Alrighty then… Thank you, Prinx Dreemurr and Prinx Consort Raptora. Now, next up… Erik Forrester.”

“Yo, I’m Erik. I go by he/him…”

~~~~~~~
Soon enough, it was lunch time, and Frisk and Kid were sitting with their friend group from the last timeline, alongside Chara and Asriel.
“Why didn’t either of you bring up your other six SOULs?” Tina asked.
“Not a good idea,” Frisk replied. “Most people in our class still don’t think SOULs exist; I could see it in their eyes when Kid and I brought up our shared main two SOULs. They doubted us.”
“And I can’t really blame them,” Kid added. “Monsters have always known the SOUL exists, but humans haven’t had ENCOUNTERs since monsters were sealed underground. As such, their knowledge on SOULs would eventually either be lost, or be turned into fiction.”
“The only way to show them that SOULs exist is to bring them into ENCOUNTERs, which…” Asriel cut in.
“Yeah, we’re not doing that,” Chara finished. Everyone nodded.
More people closing in. Cancel all current conversations. Caleb cut in in Frisk’s mind. In response, Frisk gestured for everyone to quiet down, shortly before numerous people walked up.
“Hey, can we… uh… can we join you here?” Karly asked. She, Evan and Fiona all stood together.
“Sure,” Frisk said after getting nods from everyone else. There was a brief pause as everyone took bites of their food.
“So, I remember,” Karly said suddenly, causing Frisk, Chara, Asriel, and Kid to all start coughing, as they’d not yet finished chewing their food. Evan and Fiona looked at Karly in confusion, while everyone else in the group looked at them in shock. “Is it fine if we talk about it later? I’ve cleared it up with my parents, so I’ll have permission.” Everyone continued staring at her in various states of shock(only various because Evan and Fiona were still staring at them in confusion, not at all remembering, and thus not at all shocked).
Frisk pulled out their phone.
~~~~~~~

[GodChild]: Mom, someone else in our class remembers.

[GOATMother]: Oh, dear.

[skelepun]: ask if they can come over.

[GodChild]: She’s already asked us if they could.

[Kingoat]: I have no issues with this. Does anyone?

[RIDDLERSCORPSE]: I DO NOT, YOUR HIGHNESS!

[Drama! Romance! Bloodshed!]: Nor do I, your magesty.

[SirenSpear]: I can’t find a reason not to allow them.

[ExtinctionSurvivor]: Let’s let her come over

[skelepun]: also, do any of you mind if i invite an old friend of mine over?

[skelepun]: she’s cool, and honestly, i wouldn’t be surprised if she remembered, too.

[skelepun]: kids, this is mostly directed at you four.

[FoHaM]: If you’re sure she’s cool, we’ll let her know.

[AwakeningAngel]: I’ll be the one revealing who I was, but other than that, that’s all up to Frisk and Kid.

[GodChild]: We’re fine with it.

[GOATMother]: Alright, it’s decided. See you kids when you get home!

Notes:

If anyone can figure out the reasons I used AwakeningAngel as Asriel's username in the family group chat, I'll... I dunno, you'll get a pat on the back? Anyway, I'll be explaining it in the End Notes of next chapter(yes, I'm probably gonna delay the next chapter JUST to give you all more time to comment).

Chapter 2: Friends - Old and New

Notes:

If you haven't, please go re-read chapters nine and ten of United, the prequel to this fic. There's... a surprise there. If you've read that chapter after March 19, 2025, feel free to ignore this. If not, well, it's your choice, but I'll be using that skill I learned in this fic, too, so you may wanna hop on over there.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Everyone but Sans’ guest were gathered at the Royal Family’s residence. Evan and Fiona both had family in the Royal Guard, so both were allowed to learn the secret, as was Sans’ guest, on Frisk, Kid, Chara and Asriel’s decision.

Currently, they were all just waiting on Sans’ guest to get there. Sans hadn’t revealed the guest’s name, citing that ‘it would be a surprise for a certain someone here’. No one knew what he meant by that.

“Incoming!” a voice shouted from outside the house, as wings flapping could be heard. Within Frisk and Kid’s minds, Clover jolted in surprise.

She’s… still alive? Clover asked in surprise, drawing the attention of Frisk, Kid, and the other five deceased humans. Someone knocked on the door, and Sans quickly went and opened it.

On the other side of the door stood a blue bird monster. She was wearing a grey-blue tank top and a pair of jeans. Clover reacted in shock upon seeing her.

“Hey! I’m-”

“Martlet,” Frisk interrupted, drawing confused glances from everyone but Sans and Alphys. “There’s… someone you’re gonna want to meet.”

“...Who?” Martlet asked, skepticism on her face. Frisk nodded to Kid, and held out their hand, as Kid aimed his tail at the same spot. Yellow orbs appeared from both limbs, shooting off and merging together… into the shape of a SOUL, drawing shocked gasps from Evan and Fiona, and a confused one from Karly.

The strongest reaction, however, came from Martlet, who instantly recognized the SOUL in front of her. Her eyes widened, and her wings came up and covered her beak, which had opened in shock.

“They still remember you,” Kid said, another pair of pulses of yellow magic leaving their tail and Frisk’s hand and hitting the SOUL, causing a yellow-tinted, translucent body to start appearing surrounding the SOUL. Tears appeared in Martlet’s eyes, as she became more and more certain that this was not a prank being done on her, as more and more of Clover became visible.

Howdy, Martlet, ” Clover greeted upon being able to. “ How’ve ya been?

“C-Clover…?” Martlet asked in confusion, tears slowly making their way down her face.

Y-Yeah… ” Clover was crying in happiness as well. “ I-It’s me… ” Martlet leaped forward to try to hug Clover, only to go straight through them. “ S-Sorry, I’m… not exactly corporeal. ” Martlet turned around and wrapped her wings around their form in a mimic of a hug. To an outside perspective, it looked like she was hugging the Sixth Human, instead of just hugging air around a visual and auditory projection of them.

“I don’t care! I… I thought I’d never s-see you again!”

I… I thought I’d never see ya again, either, Martlet. ” Clover huffed gently. “ I… I thought Asgore would be the one to absorb my SOUL, not Frisk and Kid. ” Martlet looked confused.

“...Is that why the both of them had to project you?”

...Yeah. Half of Frisk’s SOUL is with Kid, and vice versa, so the two of them are capable of absorbing human or monster SOULs. ‘S why the barrier broke, too - they technically had the strength of seven human SOULs; one of ‘em was just in its natural body… partly… ” Frisk and Kid had everyone else in the room go into the living room, so as to give Clover and Martlet time to reunite.

“...I left the Guard. Shortly after you gave up your SOUL. I… I also started training a successor for my other job; I didn’t think I’d ever be able to hurt another human for any reason. My successor… well, he may have been statistically weak, but he had a unique ability that made him perfect to succeed me.”

...I never know ya had another job, Mo-Martlet. ” Frisk and Kid both noticed what Clover nearly said instead of Martlet’s name, and smirked at the justice SOUL when Martlet wasn’t looking, drawing an embarrassed blush from them.

“...Part of that job is to keep said job secret, besides to those who need to know. You… you’ve been dead for the last ten years, so I felt like you deserved to know. And Frisk and Kid are the current heirs to the throne.” Asgore and Toriel had discussed it with Asriel, Chara, Frisk and Kid, and Asriel and Chara decided they didn’t want the position. Both were fairly certain they could handle it; they were both just… still slightly jaded about mankind due to Asriel’s death at their hands. As such, Frisk and Kid were declared the heirs to the throne. “Sans is likely asking the King if we can even tell you guys, as well as the rest of the group, though, so let’s wait before I reveal what it is.” Frisk and Kid guided Martlet into the room, Clover floating in just the right position that it looked like Martlet was hugging them close the entire time.

Everyone else was already seated in the living room, so Frisk, Kid and Martlet all took their own seats.

“So, before we get into it, any questions thus far that don’t have anything to do with why we’re here?” Frisk asked. Evan and Fiona raised their hands. Frisk nodded to Fiona.

“Why did you have a human SOUL absorbed?” the shadowy enby asked, confused.

“Well, that actually has to do with what we’ll be talking about,” Kid answered. Evan’s hand remained lowered, but Karly’s hand raised instead. Kid nodded to her.

“...Why did Fiona call that a human SOUL?” Karly asked.

“That also has to do with what we’ll be talking about,” Frisk replied. “Now, if that’s all the questions, let’s start from the day I fell into the Underground.”

~~~~~~~
Soon enough, the entire story had been told. Each and every death mentioned. Glossed over, so as to not traumatize anyone who wasn’t already traumatized, but mentioned nonetheless. Frisk and Kid even demonstrated their God forms to Karly, Evan, Fiona and Martlet, none of whom knew about them.
Now, Frisk and Kid were standing just opposite Karly.
Ready?” Frisk asked. Karly nodded. An ENCOUNTER started. “We want you to know how to fully use the ENCOUNTER system, so we’re starting with the FIGHT setting. Kid and I can’t exactly use the FIGHT button, as… well, we’re so strong, even with just one INTENT to harm someone, they’d die. However, we’re also basically immortal. Press the FIGHT button and select our names.”
[Karly]
FIGHT > Frisk Aeternum Dreemurr and Monster Kid Eternal Raptora > Low Damage
Karly did as asked, sending an attack at Frisk and Kid. Both allowed it to hit them, as they were immortal, and so took no damage. Plus, Karly had no INTENT, so it would have dealt no damage no matter what.
Next, I want you to use the ACT menu. Just check us for now,” Kid instructed. Karly did as told.
We’ll be calling in another two people for our turn. Our INTENT is zero, but we don’t wanna risk hurting you. Once that’s done, CHECK one of the people; CHECK doesn’t actually scan all your opponents. We just share SOULs, so it checks both of us simultaneously.
Both attacks sailed towards Karly, though she was unable to dodge it entirely successfully.
*HP 19/30
…Huh? Frisk thought. Chara and Asriel both know to hit Karly as gently as possible, while still harming her. They should just take one damage, not eleven…
…Plus, taking into account her stats… Kid added. They both then healed Karly back up to 30 health.
*Upon performing a closer scan of Karly, you have found that her SOUL is unstable. She shall take ten additional damage from each attack.
Karly got ready to dodge the attacks… only for a pair of DETERMINATION-red shields to surround her. Frisk and Kid had urgent, worried looks in their eyes.
Alright, Karly,” Frisk began. “Now is the part where you SPARE us. Go to the MERCY button, click it, and hit SPARE. When an enemy is SPAREable, their name will turn yellow in the ACT and FIGHT menus.
[Karly]
The ENCOUNTER ended. Frisk used their magic to lift Karly up and move them onto the couch.
“What the hell!?” Chara yelled. “She didn’t even get the chance to dodge this time!”
Her SOUL’s unstable,” Kid said. “She takes ten additional damage from each attack.
We need to figure out why her SOUL’s unstable,” Frisk said. “They’re in permanent danger unless we can figure it out.
And something tells me it won’t be easy to figure out, ” Clover added.
“...The best way, Sans, may only be available to you,” Martlet said, staring at Sans and hoping he got the hint. He did. He looked questioningly at Asgore, who nodded. Sans then shifted his eyelights to Karly. His right eyelight went out, and his left eyesocket exploded in yellow flame.
“frisk, what’s your LOVE right now? with you having never killed anyone?” Sans asked after a couple of seconds looking at Karly.
One, why?” Frisk replied.
“there’s somethin’ wrong with her. Their LOVE is zero. An impossibility.” Sans slowly become more serious as he spoke. His words were properly capitalized. Martlet gasped in shock, and Asgore gasped in concern.
“...What’s LOVE?” Karly asked. “Because I feel like it’s not the love I know…”
“You’d be correct, Ms. Benson,” Asgore said. “LOVE is an acronym. Level of Violence. The lowest possible LOVE is 1. Usually, LOVE is stagnant, unable to change. However, if you spend enough time atoning for your actions, and really, truly regretting them, your LOVE can go down. Your EXP - Execution Points - however, will remain.”
“Hold on, how do you know this?” Tina asked. Asgore had a somber look on his face.
“Ms. O’Malley, I know from experience. The six additional SOULs that Frisk and Kid have… well, I directly killed five of them, and my EXP reflects that. I have enough EXP to bring me up to LOVE 3 or 4, and yet, my LOVE is one, because I regret my actions, and strive to do what I can to make up for them.”
“...What happened to the sixth?” Hannah asked.
That one was actually me. I sacrificed my own life so that monsters would one day go free, ” Clover cut in. “ People can’t live long without their SOUL. ENCOUNTERs can, theoretically, go on forever, because the SOUL doesn’t actually leave the body. It just appears to.
Notes:
I just realized I forgot to do something here; the reasoning for Asriel's username being AwakeningAngel in the family group chat.
Fun fact: there's a plant called Awakening Angel. I was originally looking for a flower named after a goat, but I think this works better.
Chapter 3: Planning
Summary:
Three groups discuss two different things.
Notes:
I've decided on something. Since the first major arc is gonna be damn long, I'll start the second arc WHILE we go through the first arc.
The time for the next arc is at hand
With music, hearts, and a band
The story of a species, told to all
Starting at the Angel's fall
Though Monsters harmonized with their home
Trapped beneath the veil
The time had soon come
For them to prevail
With their escape, the world was doomed to change
Let's see this story from a whole new range.
Chapter Text
“So, the first thing we’re going to need to do is figure out why Ms. Benson’s SOUL is unstable,” Asgore started. “That, however, is looking like a long-term project that we’re going to have to turn into numerous sub-projects. The issue there, however, is figuring out what these sub-projects need to be.”
“More scans have just shown us Karly’s SOUL is not normally purple, which is concerning,” Frisk said.
“The normal color of her SOUL is unknown, but it seems to have been manipulated through magical means,” Kid added. A small group consisting of Sans, Alphys, Karly, Asgore, Frisk and Kid had all retreated to Alphys’ home lab - also known as the basement. Alphys was running tests on her while Sans kept an eye on her stats and Frisk and Kid scanned her repeatedly.
“Whoever destabilized her SOUL is doing their best to keep themself a secret, even making it so Kid and I can’t figure out who they are.”
“Their SOUL isn’t overly full of PERSEVERANCE or DETERMINATION, which makes it even more confusing,” Alphys said. “W-Whoever did this is also v-v-very meticulous. N-Normally, they’d have to overwhelm the n-natural SOUL trait with another, but the PERSEVERANCE trait of her S-SOUL is what you’d expect for a PERSEVERANCE soul, and the rest are equal to each other, but all less than the PERSEVERANCE levels…”
“her stats also kept shifting every minute or so. it’s almost as though whoever did this designed her to be a weapon, instead of a person,” Sans added.
“If it was a fresh change, our scans would have been able to figure that part out, at least,” Kid said. “So it wasn’t in response to monsters going free.”
“Plus, she says her eyes have been purple for as long as she can remember,” Frisk added. “Meaning either her memories were altered, or it happened when she was too young to remember.”
“either way, it’s been two hours, and we have nothing,” Sans replied. “you three have school tomorrow. karly, could you ask your mother if you could stay the night?”
“I sent her a text as soon as Frisk said my SOUL was unstable, she said yes,” Karly replied. Sans nodded and everyone went back upstairs, where Toriel was waiting alongside everyone else.
“Is everything okay, my children?” she asked.
“...We don’t know,” Asgore replied. “No matter what tests we ran, or what scans Frisk and Kid performed, we only learned that her SOUL isn’t normally purple, and that she may have been designed to be a weapon.”
“She was also either too young to remember, or else she had her memories modified,” Frisk added.
“Oh, well… Dinner’s ready, so come along,” Toriel replied.
~~~~~~~

Frisk sat in the library alongside their friends and numerous other students, from every class. Not all of them, though; some of the students’ parents didn’t come to these meetings, and so their kids didn’t stay.

“Any idea how much longer ‘til the meeting starts?” Frisk asked. “I wanna see Sans annoy the bigots in the group.”

“Me, too, Frisk,” Kid replied. “But we need to be PATIENT .”

“Yeah, I know. Doesn’t mean I can’t be excited!”

“Yeah, fair.”

“Will Mr. Sans really annoy them that much?” Charlie Aeron, Aaron’s little brother, asked. Unlike his older brother, he was named by his father.

“Oh, most definitely,” Aaron replied. “Though, hopefully, Toriel will keep him from getting himself killed.”

“Still not sure how Mom managed to convince Sans to join her on this,” Asriel said. “I’m also not sure if I want to know.”

“She just promised to let him annoy any bigots with his intentionally bad puns and sarcasm, and he agreed instantly,” Chara replied.

“That sounds about right,” Evan said, summoning a few small yellow daggers out of boredom. A couple people looked at him, surprised he knew that. “What? I lived in Snowdin, same as him. Everyone there knew the Skeleton Brothers; Papyrus made sure we all knew them.” Frisk sensed their family nearing the door, and gestured to Kid, Asriel and Chara. All for of them left the room and stopped the rest of the Royal Family, preventing them from entering the room until everyone else was in there. Frisk and Kid kept their senses on the room, so they’d know who’s parents were there already.

Soon enough, Frisk felt the last parent, barring their own family, enter, and started walking towards the room. Halfway there, they and Kid transformed into their god forms. Asriel and Chara entered first.

“Presenting the Monster Royal Family,” both children said simultaneously. Frisk and Kid wanted a dramatic entrance, and everyone else agreed when they heard the idea.

What? All of them had some sense of drama in them, and the idea was dramatic.

“Court Jester Sans Comic Gaster,” Chara introduced, Sans walking into the room.

“Court Scribe Papyrus Caveat Gaster,” Asriel introduced, Papyrus following his brother.

“Guard Captain Undyne Mako Seaspire.” Undyne, in her full armor and with her spear summoned, walked in next. She then stood next to Chara and Asriel.

“Royal Scientist Alphys Saura Scalewrought.” Alphys followed, wearing her old lab coat.

“Queen Toriel Magia Goatswrought.” Toriel walked in wearing her old robes.

“King Asgore Sireborn Dreemurr.” Asgore came through next, wearing his old King’s raiment, including his crown. Once all of them were through, the entire Royal Family bowed towards the door, including Chara and Asriel.

“Prinx Frisk Aeternum Dreemurr, God of Merciful Fates,” Asgore introduced, Frisk floating in in their god form.

“And Prinx Consort Monster Kid Eternal Raptora, God of Absolute Mercy,” Toriel finished, Monster Kid following Frisk into the room. Most of the people in the room bowed to the Royal Family, most of those that didn’t bowed to the two Gods, but there were still those who refused.

“...Thank you,” a blonde woman at the head of the table said, a strained smile on her face. “Can we expect such a… dramatic… entrance for every meeting?”

“that remains to be seen,” Sans said. Frisk and Kid summoned thrones fitting each and every person in the family’s role. Sans had one that made it look like he was standing, even though he wasn’t, Papyrus got one that appeared to come with a desk, Undyne, at her own request, was standing, with Alphys also standing, Toriel got a throne, and Asgore got a barely-bigger throne, only bigger to account for his bigger frame. Chara and Asriel got smaller thrones than their parents, but they were still, noticeably, thrones.

Frisk and Kid then summoned a pair of thrones behind those of their parents, gold and much bigger. They sat in them.

“...We seem to be missing a pair of kids,” Knight Knight said. She was the primary caretaker of her little sister, so she was here. “The other Prinx and Prinx Consort.” Even through her helmet, one could see her smirk. “Unless anyone wishes to reveal where they are?”

Oh, all right, Knight Knight,” Frisk said, before they and Kid transformed back into their normal forms. Many of their classmates gasped in shock… which made sense, only about a fifth of the class knew they had the human SOULs, and thus the god forms. The blonde woman’s already-tight smile got that slightest bit tighter.

“Why don’t you two and your siblings go hang out with the rest of the kids?” she asked in a sickly-sweet voice. Frisk shrugged and looked at Kid, Chara and Asriel, all of whom agreed. Frisk and Kid waved, unsummoning their thrones, as well as Chara and Asriel’s thrones. The four then walked over to the rest of the kids. Evan was clapping.

“Nice and dramatic,” he complimented.

“Knight Knight wasn’t even part of the plan,” Kid said. “Undyne was supposed to bring us up, but Knight Knight is apparently just as dramatic as us.”

“Now, due to all the… new additions… we should introduce ourselves,” the blond woman started. “I’ll go first. I’m Linda Starbright. My daughter Maria is in the fifth grade, and my son Evan is in the second grade.” She tapped a black-haired woman next to her.

“Hello,” she greeted. “I’m Helen Benson. My darling son, Karl, is in the fourth grade, and my dear daughter Karly is in the fifth grade.”

Upon hearing this, Frisk looked at Karly, who nodded.

“...Hello. I’m Knight Knight. My younger sister Kora is in fourth grade,” Knight Knight said.

“I’m Charlie Bonehunter, though everyone calls me Doggo,” Doggo began. “My son Evan’s in fifth grade.”

Next up, it was the Royal Family’s turn.

“I’m King Asgore Dreemurr, and this is my court. Myself and Queen Toriel were once married, but we divorced a hundred years ago. Asriel and Chara are my kids here, though I also represent Frisk and Monster Kid, as they are the crown heirs to the throne. All four are in the fifth grade.”

Soon enough, everyone finished introducing themselves, and Linda addressed the group.

“So, first order of business, we have the play coming up in a few months,” Linda began. “But we need to figure out what we’re going to have it be about. Any ideas?” Asgore raised his hand. “Yes?”

“A small history of Monsterkind play?” Asgore suggested.

“And why should we do that?”

“It would allow humans to better understand monsters and our history,” Toriel replied. “Many humans don’t truly know what our history is.”

“At the very least, we could do Frisk’s journey through the Underground,” Asgore added. “Though many of the roles will have to be filled in by other students, the roles of Frisk, Monster Kid, Chara and Asriel can be played by themselves.”

“Who’d wanna watch a kid’s journey through a mountain?” Helen asked.

“We could… make it a musical?” Michael suggested. “That way, many people would be interested.” Frisk walked up to the table.

“Plus, Kid and I were the only ones to get hurt during the journey, and… well, we can’t exactly be damaged,” Frisk cut in. “And… it’s a lot different than what you think. More action-packed.”

“We can also skip a lot of it,” Kid cut in. “I mean, Frisk was underground for a couple days, not just one, so we’ll definitely want to, at the very least, skip me and Frisk’s five-day stay with Toriel, as well as the couple nights we spent that weren’t at Toriel’s.”

Plus we’ll definitely skip the RESET. Kid added mentally. Wanna keep that as secret as possible.

Yeah. Frisk agreed.

“Hm,” Linda hummed. “Very well. Let’s put it to a vote. Everyone in favor of this… play … say ‘aye.’” The entire Royal Court said ‘aye,’ as did Knight Knight, Doggo, Michael, Korryn O’Malley, Kyle Smith, Amber O’Brian and Megan Forrester. Linda looked murderous. “Very well. By majority vote, the ‘aye’s have it. We’ll do this. Now, next order of business.” Frisk and Kid walked back away and let the parents all discuss. Frisk sat on a beanbag and Kid sat in their lap. Frisk then wrapped their arms around Kid.

“I managed to get Linda to agree to that play,” Frisk said. “Though it’ll have to be a musical.”

“That’s fine,” Chara said. “Just as long as we’ll be able to do it.”

“We’ll need to see if anyone can do certain bullet shapes,” Kid added. “I can do the spears, but they’re always red, so we’ll need to find another student to do Undyne’s spears.”

“I-I think I can still do the Friendliness Pellets,” Asriel said, before… successfully summoning a friendliness pellet. “Yep, I can still summon them.”

“Then you can both be you, and be in charge of Flowey’s magic. We’ll still need to work with the theater teacher for all this, though.”

“Let’s bring Mettaton in, too,” Frisk said, drawing confused looks from a few of the humans who haven’t heard about Mettaton’s origins.
