Chapter Text
Brimstone’s eyes were cold but fully displaying his shocked turmoil from the new revelation.
“I see. Is Ace being compliant?”
Sage nodded, Viper keeping quiet for the moment. The room was quiet other than the sound of quiet breathing.
“Keep an eye on her. I don’t trust it. Ace knows too much about all of this and the Scions will want her back – I doubt they want anymore of their secrets spilled to us do they?”

LOCATION:VALORANT BASE
TIME: 00:43
The faint buzz of cameras and tech were the only sounds. The base was silent, dark. If she didn’t know better, she’d think it was empty. But for the 27 agents hidden within the catacombs of polished hallways, it mot certainly was not empty.
Her shoes made little sound on the floor as she navigated the stretches of corridors with the small holo map on her watch, getting closer and closer to the blinking red dot. Ace.
She had a plan, a risky one at that of all things. But it was action, more than what the Scions were doing. At least she was doing something proactive.
Within minutes, she was at the door blocking her from Ace. Or Jay. Whoever she was at this point. Not even that special intuition could help with that.
Opening the door, she grinned, strolling into the small holding room and shaking Ace awake.
Ace blinked groggily, eyes blue. Definitely Ace.
“I’m either still dreaming or you’re standing right there.”
Lex grinned again, pulling Ace to her feet.
What have you gotten yourself into Ace? Lex signed I’ve got a plan, but you won’t like it.
What’s the plan Lex? If my sister is about to do something stupid, I’m in for it. Ace signed back, giving Lex a quizzical look.
I pretend to be you thanks to twin genetics, you get out of here. I won’t talk bout our… work. And you go free. Lex shoo her head, going to pass Ace the holo map
You forget I grabbed Neon without a map Lex. But I’ll take it. This is super risky you know?
I’ll be fine. Besides I can do that thing and escape if I need.
You sure? Ace raised a brow, eyes looking at the camera in the cell. What about the cameras that saw you?
I’ll leave that to you, master hacker. You’ve gotten into their tech before, you can do it again can’t you. Your spare computer is where I came in. Thought that’d be smart rather than you traipsing back to base.
Ace chuckled softly, you’re getting too smart Lex. I thought the older twin would be the smart one, but it seems not.
You wish you were the smart one bloodfiend.
Don’t bring that into this you smartass.
I can and will. I’ll be fine, no go before that one gets yet another coffee and sees you.
You mean Fade? You have just as bad a sleep schedule too you know.
Don’t bring my sleep schedule into this, now get going.
I’ll see you later then.
Later.
Ace closed the door on Lex, giving her a parting grin before quietly running off. If the protocol wasn’t as attentive as they made out to be, then they might get away with their deception.
Just might.
