Work Text:
Akutagawa as God of death has the duty to take souls to the afterlife, he did not like humans, how they lived or how they acted.
One day Akutagawa began to observe the humans again as he always did, watching the people of the village, some going to their harvest work, and some going to other jobs, the children going to school, most of the humans had years of life ahead of them.
When the God of Death's gaze met a specific human, with silver hair that was almost white, looking better at the human, he had bicolored eyes, shades of purple and gold, and his clothes were old. Akutagawa decided to let it go, not understanding why he looked at him, that had never happened. But when he looked again at the white-haired human he saw, he saw when his life would end. 18 years, his life would end at 18 years of age.
Observing that human had become a passing thought for Akutagawa, he didn't understand why someone as young as him had his lifespan numbered. The human wore old clothes, was very thin, and everyone in the village enjoyed meeting him.
Invisible to humans, Akutagawa followed this human. Akutagawa's clothing was a long, black coat with an imposing silhouette that suggests a structured cut. The collar is high and has a finish in a textured fabric that looks like leather or a dark brocade.
The sleeves are long and also have a similar finish at the cuffs, creating a visual unity with the collar. White shirt with elaborate ruffle details on the collar and front, the fabric is light and fluid, creating a contrast with the structure of the jacket and pants.
High-waisted trousers that accentuate the silhouette. The top of the trousers is fitted, while the bottom features a unique and dramatic design. A lighter, pleated fabric is layered over the main trousers, creating a long skirt effect.
Akutagawa discovered that the human's name was Nakajima Atsushi, Atsushi followed a routine of going to the village to shop every day, then he would climb the mountain and disappear into the forest.
Akutagawa looked around where he was, a huge house, it was an orphanage, unfortunately Akutagawa could not go after, a person died, so duty called.
Akutagawa continued to follow the silver-haired boy every day, with each passing day, with each thing the human did, the God of Death's heart failed. He knew what this was, he was in love with a human. Akutagawa didn't understand why he fell in love with this human.
Following Atsushi to the orphanage, he saw through the window, what seemed to be someone who worked at the orphanage, beating Atsushi, Akutagawa could do nothing about it. He couldn't leave the area, he avoided looking at the scene, but he had to make sure that the white-haired man would be okay, even though he knew that his lifespan was short.
The boy never left the orphanage since then, his injuries were too great, Akutagawa wanted to do something but couldn't, until one day it happened, the day of Atsushi's death arrived.
Akutagawa didn't want to admit it, but even with wounds on his body, his face conveyed a peace that he hadn't felt in a long time. Akutagawa's job was to take him in and leave him in someone else's control, but Akutagawa couldn't do it.
He did something reckless, he took Atsushi to his home, leaving him in a room and waiting for the moment Atsushi would wake up. Atsushi opened his eyes a little scared, he was in a very strange place, his gaze went to a person with black hair with white tips.
"Hello... Where am I?" Atsushi asked with trepidation.
"You died, and now you will live here, protected from those who did you harm."
"I died..."
"Don't worry Atsushi" The God of Death stands up, approaching Atsushi and touching his cheek "I will take care of you"
The God of Death was a possessive person, he will make sure that his love has the happiness he deserves, Akutagawa will wait and wait until Atsushi's love for him blossoms and even if it takes time, Akutagawa is a patient person, and if Atsushi doesn't want to be with him, he will respect his wish.
Living with Atsushi was something, the boy would apologize for anything, probably a habit he picked up at the orphanage. Akutagawa gave him new clothes and it was a bit difficult to convince Atsushi to wear new clothes, since he said he was fine with his old clothes.
Akutagawa snorted, it wasn't even clothes anymore, but after a little insistence he managed to convince Atsushi to wear new clothes.
Atsushi was wearing a white blouse, the cut of the blouse seems to be more fitted to the torso, following the natural line of the body up to the waist, where it meets the belt. The sleeves are a highlight. They start with a lot of volume at the shoulders. Along the arm, the sleeve maintains a considerable volume, tapering abruptly at the wrists.
The cuffs are well-defined and gathered, creating a ruffled effect. The cuffs close with small covered buttons, internal elastic and a delicate bow. The collar is high and structured, rising straight up to the neck. It has a gathered detail at the top, close to the neck. The collar closes at the back, with small discreet buttons to maintain the fluidity of the front line.
The waist of the shorts is high and well defined by the tied belt. The waistband of the pants has a structure that contributes to a good fit at the waist. The legs of the shorts have a wide and voluminous cut at the top, creating the balloon effect. This volume is achieved through a wider cut that tapers at the hem, creating a rounded silhouette.
The hem of the shorts appears to be fitted, with an internal elastic that creates this rounded shape. This adjustment at the hem is essential for the balloon effect. On the sides of one of the legs, there are two discreet buttons. These buttons are lined with the same fabric as the shorts, creating a subtle detail.
The wide sash that marks the waist is made of the same lightweight fabric as the top, creating a visual harmony between the pieces. Its width is significant, helping to define the silhouette and create an elegant transition between the top and the shorts. The sash is tied at the front in a voluminous bow, with the ends falling loosely. The length of the sash allows for a bow with good volume and long ends, adding a touch of style and movement to the ensemble.
As soon as Akutagawa saw Atsushi in this outfit, his face turned red, his silver hair with that black streak, his bicolored eyes that resemble the sunset and the outfit only highlights Atsushi's beauty.
Akutagawa began to introduce the castle to Atsushi, staying by his side as he showed him his new home, as they walked their hands almost touched, but it was just a rosy touch of fingers, but it made the God of Death's heart palpitate.
Their routine was like, during the day they would do whatever Akutagawa wanted, if Atsushi wanted to paint, he would make one of the rooms be Atsushi's painting room, if Atsushi wanted to plant flowers, he would create a garden just for Atsushi. At night Akutagawa would do his work.
"Can we see the stars today?" Atsushi asked
"We can, I know a good place to see them"
And when night falls, they go to the place the God of Death said, and he was right it really was a good view, Atsushi was mesmerized seeing the stars from there, but in Akutagawa's eyes he could only see the beauty of Atsushi. Atsushi never expressed the desire to leave, even though Akutagawa said he could go.
"When I was alive, I could only see the stars through my window, I was never allowed to leave the orphanage at night, it's a beautiful sight" Atsushi said with a tone of melancholy in his voice.
"Akutagawa... No Ryuunosuke"
Akutagawa looked at Atsushi "what's wrong"
"I love you, and I know you've loved me for a while now." Atsushi was looking at the God of Death, with a smile and a blushing face. Akutagawa was speechless, he wanted to say something.
Akutagawa approached Atsushi and kissed him, the silver-haired man kissed him back, when they pulled away, Atsushi was smiling.
"You already know, but, I love you Atsushi..., I wonder how you knew"
"Let's say I have u Good hearing" Atsushi chuckled and kissed Akutagawa again from under the starry sky.
