Chapter 1: Tatooine
Chapter Text
During the rough coarse sand on Tatoinee, Obi-wan Kenobi on his eopie travels to the town of Mos Espa like he has been doing for the past ten years. Wearing his Tatooine attire like everyone else on the planet with his poncho over his clothing to maintain his cover like he has been doing in his exile. Once a proud Jedi Master, now just a simple man that nobody on the planet knows about. Walking through the sands takes his mind back to memory lane where he first arrived on the planet decades ago with his Master Qui-gon Jinn, while on a mission and meeting him, but Obi-wan tries not to think about that. Finally he arrives at the town of Mos Espa. Kenobi gets off of his eopie to hand over to the locals until he is done doing his business.
Obi-wan puts on the hood of the poncho over his long hair, exposing part of his grown beard to avoid anyone who could detect his identity upon entering the area. Once getting inside, he goes looking for supplies for his hut. The former Jedi walks around exploring the areas of the town as always, almost like he is monitoring it. He knows he doesn’t have to, but it must be an old Jedi habit. He has to make sure there is no one on the planet to threaten his objective. Traveling the markets, he noticed a couple of Weequays, attacking an old Toydrain at his shop. They are taking parts from the shop, but the Toydrain tries to fight back, with one of the Weequays hitting his hat off, then knocking him down on the ground and starting to beat on him. Obi-wan knows that he shouldn’t interfere. He is a Jedi in hiding, and cannot expose his identity, but he knows it is the right thing. Must be another bad habit. Kenobi approaches the Weequays with credits in his hands. “These are yours if you leave him alone” he stretches his hand out more offering them to take it and leave the old Toydrain alone.
The Weequays look at each other then slaps the credits away from the man, “Get lost old man”
Kenobi picks up the credits. He sees them continuing to harass the Toydrain, so he decided to try one last resort without trying to attract attention. After picking up his credits, he looks around his surroundings before walking up again, when the Toydrains head turned around that is when he stretched out his arm.
“You will leave this poor man alone and apologize.” Kenobi says with his arm still stretching out.
“We will leave this poor man alone and apologize” the Weequays say. They do just that, but Obi-wan is not done yet.
“You will put these parts down and leave this planet and never come back”
“We will put these parts down and leave this planet and never come back” the three say these words before walking off.
Obi-wan walks over to help. “Are you alright” offering his hand, but the Toydrain has wings, so he used them to pick himself up. Obi-wan help, put the parts to the Toydrain’s shop back.
The Toydrain stares into Obi-wan's eyes. Obi-wan remembers hearing about a Toydrain on this planet from his Master. He wonders if this is the same one. An old Toydrain in his workshop clothes with a small scruffy beard. The same one that negotiated Qui-gon. The one that sold a couple of slaves. One that would end up being his Padawan. Thankfully the Toydrain didn’t see what he did.
“Thank you for trying to help. Not sure where those fools went”
This relieved Obi-wan as he took a deep breath.
“You know no one has worked here in quite some time” the Toydrain days in a grumpy voice.
Obi-wan walks inside, seeing it to be a shop for parts of what could be almost anything. The Toydrain stood behind him. Obi-wan looked on the vest to see what his name was, but wasn’t there. He sits down, removing his hood.
The Toydrain went over to grab his drink, “Last time I had people working for me they were slaves. A woman and her child”
This caught Obi-wan off guard. This was the same owner who he had heard about. Obi-wans face behind his hood grew to an angry expression, making his right hand into a fist. It took him a minute, but he just took a breath. As much as he wanted a guy, he was raised not to give into his emotion. Lost in his thoughts, the Toydrain keeps poking at his arm, “Hello I am talking to you”
Obi-wan then decided to try something. He sticked his arm up again and did a wave, “You will sell this shop and never return to this town”
“I will leave this shop and never return to this town”
“And you will rethink your life”
“And I will rethink my life”
This gave Obi-wan some satisfaction, he tried on his hood again before walking out. He then stumbles upon a little girl, about around the age of eight, maybe below, who looked like she witnessed what was going on. Deep inside, Obiwan quickly before he panicked, he took a piece of fruit from the market next door and gave it to the girl along with some credits, since she looked like she was hungry. The girl looked at Kenobi who just bent down towards her and winked, putting his finger across from his nose, almost like he was telling her not to say a word. The girl smiles and nods before leaving. The former Jedi then dropped a credit to the shop he took the fruit from before going his own way.
After finishing his errands, Obi-wan goes back to the locals to pick up his eopie. Hopping on his eopie, he heads into the hot desert. Removing his hood traveling, now that no one is around to see his face, he has nothing to worry about.
Before heading home he thinks about what had occurred in that shop, and brings his mind towards something, so he decides to make a stop first, so he turns around in the other direction to go to a homestead near his own home. Trying to avoid the farmers, he gets off quickly to walk towards the grave stone. Reading the gravestone it says, “ Shmi Skywalker, beloved mother, and wife.”
Obi-wan kneels down to acknowledge the grave of his former padawan’s mother.
“Shmi I know the first time Owen Lars showed me your grave I apologized for the loss of your son. The past ten years since I brought your grandson here I have tried coming every chance I can to pay my respects. Owen doesn’t like me very much. Can’t really blame him. Your son was entrusted to me and I failed him. I knew for many years he was in love with Senator Padme from Naboo, but I looked the other way. I should have helped him. Instead I just failed him. I hope you can forgive me” brushing his beard he notices a presence behind him. It is Owen Lars having his arms folded, not looking happy to see former Jedi.
Obi-wan standing up decides to talk to him, “Owen hopes all is well” trying to be as polite as he can be.
Owen just takes a breath, “Thought I told you not to come back here. I don’t want Luke being wrapped up in your business”
“I assure you I was only paying my respects,” Obi-wan says.
“I can see that, but nothing you can say will change what happened. I can’t stop you from paying your respects, but I can stop you from training Luke. You entrusted me with him. That is what I am doing. Protecting him from you” Owen says in a harsh tone, but Obi-wan just looks down.
“I know, you have made that very clear”
Owen took a deep breath before letting go, “Look you can pay your respects, but I don’t want you when Luke is around”
The two hear a speeder incoming. Owen then turns to Obi-wan who just left the grave with a flower by the headstone. The former Jedi hopes on his eopie to head home.
Taking off into the desert, Obi-wan thinks about Owen's words and the things he has said. The whole point in taking Luke in hiding was for him to be safe. That is something the two agree on, but the farmer doesn’t want his nephew to be trained as a Jedi, which is something Obi-wan had planned on doing to help bring down the Empire, so that complicates things. Obi-wan now questions himself why he is still here when he could be out in the galaxy, helping Senator Organa with the Rebel cells that were slowly forming in the galaxy.
Luke is safe, so he doesn’t really need to be on the planet anymore. He could leave any time, but he was asked specifically to watch over the boy at all times, which is what he is doing.
Obi-wan is finally back inside his hut. Once he gets inside he puts everything away and then turns his attention towards his chest. When he walks towards it, he opens it to reveal a journal and his lightsaber that hasn’t been touched for many years. He takes out his journal, but when he does, he sees the other lightsaber that is next to him on the counter. It belonged to his former Padawan and friend, Anakin who has become the Sith Lord Darth Vader. Obi-wan takes it out and observes it for a moment, which is where he takes a trip down memory lane to where he had a heated discussion with Anakin about Ahsoka.
The memory takes place at night on Utapau where the two are alone.
“Anakin, dwelling on Ahsoka's decision, won’t bring her back” the wise Jedi Master says on the log.
“I miss her ok. Is that what you wanted me to say!” Anakin raises his voice.
“I still can’t understand how she could have left the order”
Obi-wan tries to comfort him, “It was a surprise decision to all of us”
Anakin then shouted again, “It was wrong. She is a Jedi. She belongs with us” standing up only to turn around, “She is one of us”
“It was her decision Anakin” Obi-wan says to ease his friend's frustration, but only triggers the young Jedi Knight.
Anakin protests, “What choice did we give her. The moment there were any suspensions about her loyalty, the Council turned their back on her!”
Obi-wan turns his head down looking at the ground, then picks his head back up as he continues to speak, “I will grant you mistakes were made, but she chose to leave. Part of the Jedi way is not letting your emotions cloud your better judgment and that is what precisely Ahsoka did Even his her most critical moment”
“Why don’t you get some rest, '' Obi-wan says.
“I am not tired. You can rest, Master. I will take the first watch” Anakin says with his head down.
“I will accept your kind offer” Obi-wan then lays on the ground getting ready to sleep.
A moment of silence before Obi-wan speaks again, “You can’t take responsibility for Ahsokas decision Anakin”
Anakin only think with a tear streaming down thinking about all the things he and Ahsoka been through, “How would you feel if I turned into a major disappointment”
“Its not the same” Obi-wan is now the one to protest.
“Its precisely the same. You took me in and practically raised me. I am your Padawan, just like Ahsoka was mine” Anakin insists.
He then asks him, “How well would you sleep knowing I failed you?”
Obi-wan just staring at the ground responds, “That isn’t true luckily and never will be”
Flashing back to the present, Obi-wan then murmurs a few words, “Oh Anakin, I truly failed you” putting the lightsaber along with his in a chest. The former Jedi has nothing, but regret and sorrow on his face.
“Your to hard on yourself my old friend”
A familiar voice catches Obi-wan by surprise. It is the force ghost of his former Master, Qui-gon Jinn.
“Qui-gon?” Obi-wan says it in a low voice. He recalls seeing his old Masters force ghost before on Mortis, but that was during the Clone Wars. Since then he hasn’t spoken to him. He tried many times when he first arrived on Tatooine, but he failed at that, so he decided to stop trying.
“I have been trying to reach you”
“Here I am. I am here to tell you what happened to Anakin is not your fault” Qui-gon says, having his former padawan hear his words.
Obi-wan just protests, “It is my fault. You trusted me to train him and I failed”
“That is not true. You did what I asked. It was his choice to betray you and his alone. Always remember that” Qui-gon continues to say, easing Obi-wans guilt even more.
“Master you said he was the chosen one” Obi-wan claims.
“Maybe he still is through his son” Qui-gon who is now one with the force is already aware of Lukes existence.
Obi-wan then sighs, feeling like it was yesterday he had become Qui-gons apprentice. The many adventures they have had together.
“His Uncle does not want me training him. Makes me feel like I should leave this dust ball and go help Senator Organa”
“No, be patient. I believe one day the boy will make a great Jedi. An even greater one than his father. Until then protect him. We can’t let the Emperor get his hands on him”
Obi-wan knows Qui-gon is right. That brings him to the next question, but that is before the Qui-gon force ghost vanished. Obi-wan wanted to know when Qui-gon was going to teach him how to transcend into the living force. Now he has to be patient. Guess that is something he is going to have to deal with.
Obi-wan later falls asleep. He hadn’t slept well in many years. Just dreams about the events that transpired during order 66. However this dream is now different. It takes Obi-wan back to after the battle of Naboo, the defeat of Darth Maul, and the death of his Master, Qui-gon. He is at the funeral of his Master. Next to him was a little boy around the age of nine. It was Anakin Skywalker next to his side. He looks at the burning body of Qui-gon Jinn. Obi-wan felt sorry for the boy. Qui-gon was the one who found the boy and promised to train him, now the responsibility falls on Obi-wan himself.
Anakin turns around and speaks to Obi-wan, “What will happen to me now?”
Obi-wan, who could see the worry on Anakins face, tries to talk to him in a soft voice, “The Council has given me permission to train you. You will be a Jedi, I promise”
Thirteen years later the two find them in a heated exchange on a lava planet where the now fallen Jedi, Anakin has lost his legs and his left arm, hanging to his life with his cybernetic arm.
“You were my brother Anakin” Obi-wan shouts
Anakin with orange eyes looks at his former Master in hate before screaming he hates him. Next finds himself burning on the lava bank below. All there is are screams as Obi-wan picks up the lightsaber before turning around, not looking back.
Obi-wan wakes up gasping in sweat. The nightmares don’t stop. Maybe Qui-gon is right. It is time to accept this was Anakin's fault. Maybe he still feels a part of that guilt. Regardless he is going to do what he always did when he couldn’t sleep, meditate. Perhaps he was wrong before when he was talking to Anakin on Utapau. His apprentice turned out to be a failure.
The next morning he gets out of his meditation state and starts the day getting ready. He gets his poncho on and walks outside. After defeating the Obi-wan then takes a walk outside not to far from his place with a pair of vizors and looks outside the same farmstead he was at yesterday looking at the young Luke Skywalker playing around with a toy ship before he is called inside by his Aunt. Obi-wan smiles to himself. Perhaps Luke is worth staying for. After all he is like a nephew to him.
Chapter 2: Vos
Chapter Text
On a remote planet in the forest, Quinlin Vos found himself running for his life, as an army of stormtroopers were chasing him, as they laid blaster fire upon him. The Jedi Master used his reflexes to dodge the shots. He lowered his head, then hopped his legs over before he could get shot. He activated his emerald lightsaber to deflect the shots right at them, hitting one before spinning back. He then grabbed a branch, swinging until he got on the ground. Vos was able to outrun them, that was until speeders were chasing after him. Vos found himself being outspeed by the speeders, the troopers kept shooting at him, so Quinlian had to go jump up in the trees to get away from them, causing him to vanish into the forest.
The stormtroopers had stopped their vehicles, pulling out their blasters pointed towards the trees. They started to fire, as the branches began to move. The movements then stopped. The stormtroopers' hearts were beating, not knowing if they got him or not. The rest of the troops arrived with a walker. The big tank had considered shooting the trees down, but there were too many in their ranks that would get in the way, but before they could decide what to do next, a tree fell down on the walker, causing the army of troopers to scatter.
Quinlian had used the force to push down the tree before he kicked the trooper off his speeder. By the time anyone knew what was happening, the Jedi Master had taken off, but not before giving them a grin. This caused the other two to get on their speeders to chase after him.
The wind was blowing in Vos’s face ,his long hair pulled back, as he pressed the gas to move fast. The two speeders followed. One of the troopers had bumped into his speeder. Vos kept going regardless. The two troopers just kept coming closer. A shot from a blaster fire came towards Quinlian, but the Jedi Master deflected it back to the trooper, causing him to fall off his speeder.
He then turned his head to the other stormtrooper before he grabbed his lightsaber for his belt. He moved closer to ignite it towards the engine of the speeder, causing the trooper to close control, as he crashed. More speeders were coming behind him, Quinlian looked on ahead, stopping his foot on the gas, causing himself to go over the cliff. He quickly jumped towards one of the rocks attached to the cliff while the rest of the stormtroopers fell to their deaths.
Quinlian looked down towards the ground, seeing how far it was from where he was. He then looked back at the rest of the Imperials, as they were too far to reach him. He looked ahead to see one of the troopers in charge was contacting someone, but Vos ignored it, as he continued to climb. Quinlin reached the surface, running away from the Empire.
He had thought he lost them, so for a break before he could find a way off the planet, he decided to rest. He had found himself near a river where he bent down to clean himself up. He took a sip of water, pouring it down his throat, as he didn’t remember when he drank or ate.
Before he could sit down there was a shift in the force. Quinlian grabbed his lightsaber from his belt before he went off to the forest, he wasn’t sure who it was, but he could feel the force.
The Fifth Brother was waiting outside his starship. His grey eyes glanced at Vos, as he made his way towards him.
“You are a hard man to catch Quinlian Vos, but don’t worry I am not going to kill you. Surrender, and come quit, there is nowhere left to run” the Fifth Brother taunting him.
Vos said nothing, but gave him a smirk, as he put up his fists.
The Fifth Brother activated both sides of his lightsaber before spinning it at the Jedi. Quinlan dodged two of his strikes before landing a fist at the Inquisitor's jaw. The Fifth Brother got mad, and tried to swing again, but Vos dodged again, this time jumping over before he hit him again. Vos then threw his lightsaber in the air to block a strike before pushing his opponent back.
The Fifth Brother was enraged. He aggressively tried to hit the Jedi, but Vos was able to dodge it, or block the blades from cutting him. Quinlan used his free hand to hit him, but The Fifth Brother swung back, causing Vos to leap over, using his two legs to hit his opponent back.
“Come on, I thought you Inquisitors are supposed to be tough” Vos giving a slight chuckle.
The Fifth Brothers face only darkened, as he used one of his blades to lock with Qunlan’s, then kicking him with a foot, causing Vos to stumble back. He then activated his second crimson blade before stabbing at the Jedi. Quinlan pressed the blade down before locking at it.
The Fifth Brother then smirked, using his lightsaber to spin the blades. This made Vos take a huge step back. He was slowly backing away, as the Inquisitor was getting closer. Once Quinlan had his back pressed against the tree, he saw a hole in his opponent's defense. Vos grinned, pointing his lightsaber in the whole of the Fifth Brother’s weapon before shattering it. This caused him to fall back, looking at his broken blade before staring at the Jedi who held his emerald blade at his throat.
The Fifth Brother chuckled, “I could feel your anger. Come on, strike me down”
Before Vos could do anything, he turned his back to meet a blade. It was another inquisitor. This one was a human female.
Vos smirked, “Hello young lady”
The women used her fury slash down at him. Quinlan blocked it, going on the defensive. He tried to slash down at her, but jumped in the air, bringing down her legs towards the Jedi’s chest, causing Quinlan to fall back. She tried to stab down, but he rolled over, and locked lightsabers again. She used her second blade to slash through his forearm, but Vos blocked it before it turned off, then getting hit in the face. He then pushed her with the force, sending her to the ground, but not before landing on her feet.
Vos was ready to continue fighting, but the stormtroopers caught up to them with the Grand Inquisitor coming in between them, smirking at the Jedi.
Quinlans face turned into a scowl, but before he could move, he was shot in the back, being stunned by a trooper.
The Grand Inquisitor walked forward to the red twi’lek, his arms folded behind his back, “Well done Third Sister”
The Third Sister deactivated her lightsaber before bowing to her superior
Stormtroopers had grabbed the arms of the Jedi before dragging him away, leaving the Inquisitors alone.
Both the brother, and the sister stared at each other. The Fifth Brother glared furiously at the Fourteenth Sister, but she just frown, “You are to slow Fifth Brother”
“Shut up Reva” he told her in annoyance before walking off. She didn’t say anything, and walked away with the rest of the troopers;
Quinlan had opened his eyes after being shocked by a probe droid with two stormtroopers standing by. His arms, and legs were strapped to the table. He had found his lightsaber on the table, attempting to lift it up, but he got shocked instead. The Jedi had screamed in pain, as he struggled to contain his breathing. He could feel his anger boiling, making him want to stop himself. Once the door opened, he had calmed down. It was both Inquisitors he had encountered along with the Grand Inquisitor.
“Finally, I thought you would never wake up” Reva said yawning at how bored she was.
The Grand Inquisitor turned to the troopers, “You may go”
Once the troopers left it was just Vos, and the three Inquisitors alone. Quinlan was just caught staring at them in the eyes.
“Jedi Master Quinlan Vos of the Republic” the Grand Inquisitor blurted out.
“That’s my name, want an autograph” Quinlan smiled before getting shocked by the droid.
The Grand Inquisitor continued speaking, “I am sure after a decade you are aware that we hunt Jedi who had escaped Order 66”
“Yet I am alive, which means you need me” Quinlan said continuing his famous smirk.
“You are right, that’s why we brought you to our base on Nur. Our Master is gone restless, he requires the name of one of your old friends, Obi-Wan Kenobi”
Quinlan was immidenty surprised. He had not seen him, or heard his name since running during the purge. He looks at the three Inquisitors who just stared down at him. They patiently waited for an answer, but Vos only said one word, “Go to hell” that is when the droid shocked him agian, this time the electricity was twice as painful.
“Wrong answer” the Grand Inquisitor told him.
Vos took a breath before an angrily look can be shown, “I haven’t seen Obi-Wan in ten years, and even if I did, I wouldn’t seek out my friend to scumbags like you”
The Fifth Brother was about to go up to him, but the Grand Inquisitor had stopped him. He had anticipated this. Instead, the pau’an grinned, as he took a step back. A door had opened to reveal a man in black armor, this was Darth Vader. Just his presence was scary, as Quinlan could feel that.
“You see Jedi, I have seen you before during my days as a temple guard. I know that no matter how hard we torture you, you won’t break, not for us anyways. Perhaps Lord Vader can”
“You may go” Vader ordered them. The Inquisitors did what they were told. Reva was the only one left, glaring at the dark lord. Vader tilted his head towards the Third Sister, but Reva walked away to leave the two alone.
The Sith had walked in front of the Jedi. The dark lenses had stared down the Jedi. He had stressed his hand at the Jedi, using the force to get into his mind. At first Vos had resisted, but over the course of the integration, he felt his mind breaking to the point where he could not contain his screams anymore.
Chapter Text
“You were the chosen one”
“I HATE YOU”
Obi-wan got out of his bed soaked in sweat again. His bed was also all wet. Obi-wan sat on his bed, trying to gasp for air, the dream he had was still there. The last thing he saw of his former apprentice was a frightened boy whose Master failed him. He was a limbless being who had caught on fire due to the flames surrounding his body, the agony, the pain he was in, Obi-wan had wanted to kill him, and had considered it after sensing Palpatine's arrival, but even if it wasn’t for that, he still wasn’t sure if he could kill his best friend, someone who he had considered a brother, and a close friend, but now it was nothing more, but a distant memory.
He had heard that Anakin was alive through a radio on the cantina, regonzing the name Darth Vader. It was enough to send him into a panic. He had spoken to Master Yoda about it, but the old Master had assured him that Anakin wouldn’t come back, and Luke was already safe. Obi-wan only hoped his old friend was right because if the Empire would discover his existence, then there would be danger. The Order 66 survivor had not kept up with his training. He for the majority of the time had to conceal his abilities for his protection. His lightsaber skills had also gotten rusty considering Obi-wan had not used it since his duel with his apprentice. Instead he had buried the lightsabers in his home, so no one would find it, as well as the other items he had carried with him on his travels.
A communicator was beeping on the table, but Obi-wan knew who it was. Senator Organa gave him this for emergencies. Obi-wan however has no interest in picking it up. He has felt no disturbance in the force. He had gone back to his bed, looking at the ceiling before his eyes suddenly shut.
The twin suns had gone up, Obi-wan who had bags under his eyes had washed his face, and had a quick breakfast before getting changed into his usual attire. Today he was going to one of the local markets to trade for food once he had collected from his farm. He got outside to collect his things in his basket, packing it all in a bag with the rest of his stuff before he mounted his eopie, heading to the local market. Over these past ten years, he had been going to his place for food, and supplies, but over the course of time, he had limited resources, only his personal belongings, and credits that he took with him when arriving to this planet. Spending it on this small hut with a farm to the side could only get him by, but Obi-wan was fine with that considering he didn’t want much. Right now the only thing he was doing was walking on top of his animal to the hard desert sand of the planet. The wind was blowing hard, but Obi-wan had his hood up along with his goggles that could see through harsh conditions such as this. He continued to leap out his eopie, not too far ahead from his destination. Once the wind blew in the other direction, he had stopped. Sand people were surrounding him with their weapons ready to shoot on site.
The eopie was beginning to freak out, but it had calmed down when Obi-wan patted it on the back. Rather than choose violence, he took out part of his lunch for the day before tossing it on the ground. The savages of the waste land had fought each other for the food, so Obi-wan decided to use it as a distraction to keep going forward, being another typical day for him.
He had finally arrived in the small town. Obi-wan got off, putting the ranes on the hooks to tie, so the eopie wouldn’t be wandering off. He then tipped a credit to one of the jawas that had owned this section. Once that was done, he decided to bring his stuff, going inside to the merchants, but not before freezing in place. He had felt a presence nearby, it was familiar, but he didn't recognize it. Instead he shrugged his shoulders before going into the tent, hopping it would be quick, but the line was semi long, making the former Jedi wait. These things made him uncomfortable, being out in the open, so he had pulled up his hood, leaving it for right now. He had known crolute for a while, he had been going to him every time, already knowing he was a hard person to please, but Obi-wan would get more than he had thanks to his old negotiation skills.
He was already up close, already smelling the odor of the vendor. Obi-wan had given him the goods from his farm to sell to other merchants throughout the town. The crolute breath was already breathing towards his face, making Obi-wan hold his breath.
“Stranger, lets see what you have today” the bulky crolute looked through his pile, giving Kenobi the credits, as usual. Obi-wan looked at it, then the vendors dark eyes before taking it, and going.
Obi-wan stepped out of the tent, looking around, the market was busy as usual which he had hoped. He had, as usual, spent his day looking through the market, getting stuff for his home.
Right now there was nothing worth buying aside from only what he needed, but he did stumble towards a stand no one was going too. The elderly man looked at him, giving only a slight smile.
“Hello there, what are you selling today?” Obi-wan asked him.
“Just old junk that I am selling, sadly I haven’t had good fortune. These are just antiques that no one buys anymore”
“Well I would like to look if you don’t mind?” Obi-wan told him, which the man applied.
Obi-wan looked at the junk in the bin, noticing these were not normal items, but toys. Kenobi looked at the old man, “These are old toys”
The elderly nodded his head, “Indeed. They were my son’s, but he grew sick, and passed away young. My wife had also recently passed, so I am just getting rid of these stuff, so I can go off world, and travel the stars just like I had dreamed of with my family”
Obi-wan had a sad look on his face, “I am truly sorry, I to had lost people I cared about over the years. I would like to buy that model” he pointed out to the small shaped shuttle.
The old man picket it up, stroking his beard, as he examined the figure, “Why yes it is a T-16 skyhopper, my son use to love it. Tell me stranger, do you have kids?”
Obi-wan shook his head, “I am afraid not, but I know someone who may like it, here” he gave the man the credits. They were more than enough to take a shuttle out of here. The old man looked at him before bowing his head, “Thank you sir”
Obi-wan didn’t say anything, but instead had decided to leave. There was something familiar in the distance, a hood, but Obi-wan tried to ignore it, going back to his eopie, so he could get out. He had sped out, paying the Jawas before heading out. Obi-wan looked back again, but the shadow he thought was following must have been his imagination. Obi-wan instead looked forward, marching towards the hot dessert.
Obi-wan had gone back to his home, putting his stuff down before removing his hood. He sat on the sofa, taking a breather. He felt crazy, being on the planet so long it was like the heat had messed with his head. He went in his bag to pick up the toy, feeling how small it was while being held with Obi-wan’s big hand. He laid it on the counter. It was only the afternoon though. He decided to continue his day before it had ended. While getting up, he had noticed the communicator going off was gone, but that is when he remembered he had hid it away. Whatever he was needed for, his mission was only to stay here. Once he unpacked, he continued his day by planting the seeds in the gate, not much, but it was the best he had. He would then wait by going inside to do the rest of his daily tasks from watching over Luke in the distance or when he is not doing that work on his home.
Nightfall soon hit, and Obi-wan was in his camp fire, playing with the flames from his wooden stick. He was cooking his meal with the fire, but it was only for a bit. He knew soon the sand people would be out, coming for him, so once that was done, he took the second meat before going out to the center of the sand to drop it this way they wouldn’t come to him.
Obi-wan then went back inside with his meal to go have it. As usual he had dinner by himself.
He missed the days when going out to Jesters Diner made him wonder what happened to his old friend.
Obi-wan was finished with dinner, and had started cleaning up until he heard a knock, making him freeze, never getting guests. He slowly walked to the door with caution with a small blaster in his hand. Kenobi opened the door with his blaster pointing at the guest, but he pulled back after the stranger removed his hood.
“Now is that a way to greet your old friend Obi-wan”
“Bail” Obi-wan said, taken aback. He looked the same, as when they last saw each other ten years ago, minus small grays on the side.
Kenobi stepped aside allowing his old friend to come in. By far Bail was silent, he just stepped in, snooping around the small area. It took a minute before he could speak, “Smells good, should have saved me some” he chuckled in a joking tone.
Obi-wan had his arms folded, “If I knew you were coming, I would have prepped food for you. What are you doing here Bail, is everything okay with the girl?”
“Leia is alright my friend, that I assure, I am here for something else”
Obi-wan tightens his eyes while listening, “Oh? What would that be”
Bail took a deep breath, not sure where to begin before speaking, “As you know there have been those speaking out against Palpatine, and the Empire. These people had come into groups of Rebel cells. While I have been searching for more, I have encountered a Jedi that has been out in the openned, you remember Quinlian Vos”
“Quinlian?” Obi-wan said in surprise.
“I found him helping out a group of refugees. I decided to recruit him for his help in finding more people to join our cause, but on a mission, Master Vos had vanished. He was on a planet in the greenlands. We haven’t heard from him since”
“So why are you going to me with this? Why not someone else?”
“Because you are the only one I trust with this. If Master Vos is captured, and interrogated, he may break, and lead the Empire straight to my home. I don’t even need to tell you what would happen if they found Leia”
Obi-wan shocked his head in disappointment, “You know how Quinlian is, you shouldn’t have got him involved let alone begin a Rebellion”
Bail felt annoyed by this, “I had to do something. The Empire is tearing the galaxy apart. We need to gather our alleys as much as possible. There was no one else without revealing myself, and endangering my people. Trust me I know its dangerous, but no one expects a thing yet”
“Does Quinlian know about me?” Obi-wan asked, but Bail shook his head.
“No, he kept trying to find you. Wanted to use my resources, but I kept pushing it off”
“Still I have to watch after Luke. What if something happens, and I am not there to protect him”
“And if they trace me back to you the boy is in danger either way. Please Obi-wan, I need your help” Bail pleading for help
Obi-wan sighed, “Alright I will come with you, I just need to pack”
Bail gave a slight smile, “Alright I will have a transport pick you up in the morning” The Senator of Alderaan closed the door, leaving Obi-wan alone in his thoughts.
The next Morning Obi-wan was already prepared to leave. He didn’t take anything, just his blaster, and lightsaber clipped into his belt, hiding it over his cloak. He locked his door, and took his eopie, riding north. He stopped by the Lars’s homestead, looking at the ten year old boy. Luke was on top of the hut pretending to be a pilot, his aunt watching in amusement while Owen continued working on his farm. Obi-wan smiled, hoping that everything will be alright when he is gone, he turned around to leave, trusting that the force would protect them.
He continued riding his eopie through the desert, recalling that it was Bail who was watching him, and it was Bail who tried to contact him, however Obi-wan didn’t sense anything through the force. He still had his force abilities, but he was weak for how long he neglected it. This only made him worried how the mission would go, but he couldn’t turn back now with too much being on the line.
Obi-wan had finally gotten to the entrance. He first started by selling his eopie for credits knowing how long he could be gone, and needing credits if he was going to go out in the galaxy. After that he walked around, looking for Organa. Instead he pumped into one of the Senator’s men. Obi-wan was prepared to fight, but the guard stopped him, and motioned to follow him.
Bail was in the back at an arena where other transports were.
“Glad you made it” Bail nodded to his old friend. Obi0wan just nodded his head before Bail started motioning him to get into his ship.
Obi-wan looked at the ground one last time, as he kept seeing the distance go farther, and farther.
The old Jedi had worried, but he had to trust his gut. Everything was going to turn out fine.

Chapter 4: Into The Trap
Chapter Text
Kenobi was already out in space, getting closer to the planet. He was already briefed on the details before taking a small freighter from Senator Organa. He took it, going to the last location his old friend was last seen by using a tracker that was used to find Vos’s ship.
The freighter was still miles away from the circle of a planet. He began navigating, flipping switches to land safely, and not being detected. Right now there were no Imperials in the sky, but Obi-Wan was not going to take any chances, which is why he was being careful. He already caught himself staring at his lightsaber, still unsure if the former Jedi Master can even use it anymore. He had tried to communicate with his old Master through the force in hopes for guidance, but Qui-Gon had not answered, which left nothing, but a knot in his stomach. For the first time in a decade, he had a bad feeling about this. Something had felt wrong, and he was going to need his full strength to survive whatever he encounters on his travels.
Obi-Wan was right in front of the planet, getting closer by the minute. He flipped his lower switch to prepare for his landing. The Greenland area was filled with the forest. Obi-Wan couldn’t see where he could land. He stroked his beard, wondering where he should go. He looked at the navigation in his scanners, he was close, but he still needed to find somewhere to land.
It was hard to see with the trees blinding his windows. Obi-Wan was smart, he slowly brought the freighter through the trees, finding the spot he needed.
The freighter landed on the ground, allowing Obi-Wan to step out, and onto the ground. He picked up the tracker, following the compass that would take him towards his friend’s ship, but not before he raised his hood, making sure no one would see him, and threw the poncho over his lower plain clothes, so he couldn't be seen carrying his lightsaber. He continued to follow the path he was set on.
Obi-Wan was walking through the long grass that was planted on the ground. He could feel the peace surrounding the area, but he knew better after stumbling towards a dead body. It was one of the troopers that had belonged to the Empire, there were also a couple more ahead. Obi-Wan knew he was on the right path, he just had to get there, and find Quinlans ship, so he could erase memory of anything that could lead back to the Organas, or anything the Empire might get their hands on, after that, he would find, and rescue his old friend. The two had gone way back when they were younglings, but those were much simpler times, now they are fugitives on the run.
Obi-Wan still didn’t know what to expect, so he kept his hand where his blaster was, still paranoid about this, which he had a reason for. He thought something was coming his way, but it turned out to be an inhabitant that lived on this world. The creature glares at the strange man it sees, but runs away through the grass. Obi-Wan let out a breath of relief, but he still had to be cautious, not knowing what would come his way. As he kept walking, the wind had suddenly let out a breeze, the clouds were suddenly blocking the sun, making it colder for the former Jedi.
Obi-Wan had tightened his body together to stay warm while still having the compass in one of his hands, he was close by, not sure why, but he had a feeling.
Kenobi used his hands to brush away the long green grass in his way. He saw a red object in front of him. He sped walked towards what he was seeing. The engine was damaged on the back. Small flames were coming out, but not enough to attract attention. That is when he realized this must have belonged to Master Quinlan Vos. Obi-Wan quickly opened the door in the pilot area. He looked at his log to see if there was anything important, but it was already erased. His guest was that Quinlan had already erased everything from the records, but he was still missing.
“Stop right there” a voice called out. Obi-Wan looked behind him, it was a stormtrooper, he had his blaster pointed at him. The trooper had repeated himself, but Obi-Wan had his hands up. He stepped over, putting an underhook before throwing him down. Another set of stormtroopers comes their way, making Obi-Wan take out his blaster to shoot at them before running. He started sprinting in the grass hard away from the troopers, as he tried to find the path towards his ship to get off this rock of a planet. He shot at the white armor that was shown brushing their way through the grass.
Obi-Wan made it to his freighter, about to get in, but it was shut down by a rocket. He turned his head. A trooper was about to prepare to launch his rocket launcher, but Obi-Wan slowly twitched his fingers to use the force, causing the launcher to explode, killing the stormtroopers that were in the way. He then made his way towards the forest after shooting the remaining troopers that were in his way. The rest from the upcoming shuttle came out to chance him.
Obi-Wan found himself running through the forest, being chased again. The transports, and waves of stormtroopers continued their pursuit of him, but he managed to hide behind a tree, his blaster in his hand. He looked down at his cloak, glaring at the lightsaber still on his belt.
Obi-Wan took a deep breath, hearing the sounds of the Empire still in pursuit of him. He waited for the first chance he got before running. A stormtrooper had spotted him before he, and the rest of the Empire started to launch blaster fire at him.
Obi-Wan ducked, and ran faster to avoid being hit. He looked in their direction, delivering shots at them. He then turned back, and began running again, using his training to avoid being hit. He stopped when he was towards a cliff, almost fell to if he didn’t stop himself for another second.
The stormtroopers all stopped where he was, surrounding Kenobi, who all had their weapons trained at him. Obi-Wan stood frozen, he was lucky he still had his hood up, or they would most likely shoot him if he was recognized as a Jedi. He looked down behind him where the cliff was. There was a water stream floating on the river. He then looked back at the troopers who all still had their weapons pointing at him. Obi-Wan bit his lip, not having anywhere else to go. He slowly took a back step towards the edge. The stormtroopers didn’t move, instead of firing, they warned Kenobi not to move. Obi-Wan did it anyway, taking a backstep that was sending him down towards the river. Stormtroopers ran up, starting to rain blaster fire at him. One of them hit Kenobi on the left arm, causing him to fall hard on the water, making a splash.
Obi-Wan was able to pick himself back up, still being shot at by the Empire, however is able to avoid the hits despite his injury. He swam, as fast as he could, but he was approaching the end of the river. He then heard a thud, as the tank started to aim at the river, causing the shockwave to knock Obi-Wan back, as he fell down the stream.
The stormtroopers marched down the hill, looking for a body, but nothing was seen. They looked at each other before nodding, and leaving.
Obi-Wan opened his eyes in the water, gasping for air, as he came up the water, breathing heavily. He found himself panting, exhausted from the chase, so he moved his good arm to swim away before he was caught. Obi-Wan had reached for the surface, still breathing heavily, as he threw up water that had gotten into his mouth. He turned his head to see a blaster pointing at his face, but he couldn’t tell who was with the bright light flashing at his face, but he could see it was with the hood covering himself. He noticed familiar armor, but couldn’t figure out who with his head spinning.
Obi-Wan struggled to stay awake, which collapsed. The hooded man kneeled down before the unconscious Obi-Wan, and removed his hood. It was just a man with tan skin with a cut on the side of his forehead. He removed Obi-Wan's hood showing his face, making the man give a slight smirk, “It is good to see you General”
Chapter 5: Cody
Chapter Text
Obi-Wan found himself swimming in a pool of water, betrayed by his clone army, the 212th Attack Battalion. They tried to shoot him, but ended up killing his varactyl, creating a large splash when the two fell. Obi-Wan had quickly taken control of the situation, and put his breathing tube on to prevent him from drowning. He would then move his arms to swim, carrying himself to safety. Once he found a rock wall, he immediately pressed his hands on it to climb, using his body strength to lift himself up. He did this slowly in case he encountered any droids or members of his clone unit. For the first time since this war, Obi-Wan had no idea what to do. He had completed his mission on Utapau, and defeated the droid General Grievous, but now he was on the run, being hunted by his clone unit for no reason. One thing was sure though, he had to get off this planet, and find help with this most likely happening to the other Jedi.
Once Obi-Wan climbed himself up, he made sure to hide behind a pillar when troopers were walking by. If he was going to get off this planet, he had to do it in stealth. As he got closer, Obi-Wan overheard his unit talking, asking if they saw him. Some assumed he was dead, others weren’t too sure. He looked around, and it seemed like the droid army was all defeated. Inhabitants on this planet were also being taken away. Obi-Wan wanted nothing more, but to help them, but he had to save himself first. The 212th Attack Battalion were starting to go on transports, which gave Kenobi hope that he could escape peacefully. Once the last of the unit left, he decided to run in the opposite direction, hoping he wasn’t seen.
While running, Kenobiwas already pulled into another room. Obi-Wan took his lightsaber from his belt ready to fight, but he lowered it once he saw they were pau’an, inhabitants of this planet. With them was the Primeminister. Tion Medon was not happy, his dark eyes glaring at the Jedi Master, “You swore to protect us, instead your clones are enslaving my people!” he hist at Obi-Wan.
“They attacked me, as well, I am not sure why, but the sooner I leave the better” Obi-Wan assured him.
“We need your help Jedi. If you want to leave alive, you will help save my people, and in return we will help you get out of you, you owe us that much”
Obi-Wan wanted to argue back. The last thing he wanted was to fight the men he had served with the past three years. He could also understand the pau’ans frustration. Reluctantly, he agreed, “Very well I will help free your people, but I suggest freeing your warriors to help take back the planet”
Primeminister Medon nodded his head, “I agree, do this, and we will let you walk out”
Obi-Wan agreed, he, and the pau’ans planned their move.
Obi-Wan hide behind pillars outside the city, watching the pau’ans being detained outside the walls. Each of them were online getting to the transports, not sure where they are going. Obi-Wan sighed, not wanting to do this. He wanted to get back to the temple, and find the other survivors. He had hoped Anakin was alright, but he put his mind focused on the task, freeing these people, and getting out of here.
Kenobi jumps down the steps with nothing, but a grin on his face, “Hello there, looking for me?”
The members of the 212th aimed their blasters at him. Obi-Wan had his lightsaber in his hand, but he couldn’t manage to fight his own men, especially with civilians in chains. All he could do was freeze, not being able to do anything, but that's when spears came in, piercing the clones in the heart. The clones were going to shoot them, but the civilians strangled them from behind.
The pau’ans were all free, taking blasters for themselves. The Primeminister stepped forward, “There are still more of us inside”
“Alright I will lead the attack inside, you take these transports, and get your people out of here” Kenobi told him. The Prime Minister nodded, and left.
Obi-Wan took the pau’ans that could fight, and led the charge inside. The clones were ambushed, trying to fight back, but the numbers overwhelmed by the ambush. Obi-Wan only defected the blaster fire aiming at him, he could not bring himself to cut them down. Obi-Wan tries to find the prisoners that are trapped in his own home. Its when the more reinforcements come that the pau’ans get overwhelmed trying to save their people. Obi-Wan stepped in trying to protect them. He used the force to seal the door before running away. Him, and the group were cornering, as more men were marching. Women, and children were with them. The soldiers were being butchered by the clones, and Obi-Wan was stuck, leading the pau’ans out. He heard a clone trooper sound, as everyone was marching towards them. There were a few fighters among the group, but they could not take the army of clones down alone.
Obi-Wan gripped his lightsaber tightly, as he activated it. He didn’t take it out of pleasure, but seeing the terrified look on the Pau’ans face was enough to drive him to attack. Kenobi activated his lightsaber, cutting down the troopers, he wanted to plead with them to stop, but the clones had not said a word. A tear just shedded on Obi-Wan's check, as he finished cutting down the clones. They weren’t even close to freeing the rest of the pau’ans. He had turn to the men that was sent with him, and told them to get the captives out while he’d look for the remaining prisoners.
Obi-Wan roamed the halls of the facility. With great reluctance, he used his lightsaber to cut down the clones that stood in his way. While fighting off the troopers, he used the force to sense where the captives were being held. The clones tried to shoot him down, but Kenobi blocked with ease. The clones step back, as Obi-Wan throws them with the wave of the force.
Obi-Wan continued walking down the halls to find the prisoners, having his lightsaber still up for defense. He lowered it when he heard cries hallways away. The Jedi Master sprinted to the corner, turning right. After running down, he could see the families in fear, as they held their children closer. Before he could react, two of the clones came his way, causing Obi-Wan to launch a massive force push at them. He then used his lightsaber to cut the bars down, releasing all the captive Pau’ans. The men that were with their families had stepped up, grabbing the blasters to help out Obi-Wan. They flanked Obi-Wan, as they shot at the clones coming towards them.
“Where are the rest of your people?” Kenobi asked them.
“Your clones took the men that fought away to the outpost. Those that resisted were executed on the spot”
Obi-Wan felt guilty, it wasn’t his orders, but the clones had still served him. He could tell the pau’ans had a mixture of feeling, fear, anxiety, anger, confusion, but he had to get them out as soon as possible. Obi-Wan had motioned for them to follow him, which they did.
The Jedi Master stood in front of the Pau’ans while the men with blasters. Obi-Wan tried his best to find more, but the facility was quickly being filled by reinforcements. Obi-Wan would have a much harder time fighting, and likely to die fighting if it wasn’t for the pau’ans to take a stand. They overwhelmed them, quickly eradicating any clone that they were trapped with. Once they found the exit, everyone had exited out.
Obi-Wan had led the pau’an out of the building with fewer than one hundred of them. He stepped outside towards the exit, looking around with his lightsaber ready to defend these people. His weapon went up when he saw transports, but when the door opened, it was revealed to be the Prime Minister of the planet. He had his men help the civilians on the transports, making sure everyone was in. They wouldn’t close the door until every last pau’an was in.
The Prime Minister glared at Obi-Wan, who glared at him back before speaking, “They were all I could find. The soldiers were taken to the clone's outpost. If you want I could give you coordinates how to get in”
The head of the now fallen planet shook his head, “We don’t have enough men. My people, and I will regroup, and come up with a strategy before we do that. You should come with us Jedi”
Obi-Wan shook his head, “As long as I am around, I am putting you, and your people in danger. I appreciate it though, but I have away out of here”
“I wish you luck, Jedi” the Prime Minister told him before taking off with the rest of his people.
Obi-Wan was on his own, slowly sprinting outside of the city. Clones were still marching down like they were hunting him, which they did. He had to get to Grievous's ship, it was his best chance to get out. Obi-Wan had jumped down from one of the pillars to accidentally encounter a clone. He had shouted the Jedi’s name before being hit with the force down the cliff. Three more were behind him, shooting at Obi-Wan who just blocked. While blocking the shots, he looked down to see the abyss, and the bridge connecting to the other side. Obi-Wan quickley deflected the shots at the chest of the troopers before running off. What he didn’t notice was a gunship following him. The pilot had shot rockets, hitting the bridge. This made Obi-Wan run faster, as he leaped before it collapsed, reaching the ledge of the other side. Obi-Wan brought himself back up before going inside. He continued trying to stay out of sight, but the rest of his now former men know that he is alive. He leaped down from each floor, trying to retrace his steps to the ship he was trying to go to.
The city was empty, leaving only clones to patrol the ground. Obi-Wan snuck up, using the force to push the trooper off the ledge. The rest of the clones freaked out, and started to attack, but they were quickly taken care of. Obi-Wan only wounded them, still feeling sympathy towards the 212th. One of the troopers slowly was reaching for a blaster when Obi-Wan saw this, and casually used the force to push it away. The trooper had his helmet, but Kenobi could immediately tell with the force the clone had hate for him, making Obi-Wan just walk away. He went outside, but when he did, a gunship was behind him. It was more shocking that it was his own Commander leading the charge.
“General Kenobi, you are to be executed for treason against the highest authority”
Obi-Wans head tilted, “Cody, there is a mistake, fight your programing”
Cody didn’t say anything, instead he,and his men started shooting at their General. Obi-Wan only blocked the attacks before running. The gunship chased after him, shooting at him. Obi-Wan turned around, blocking the strikes, using the force to push a rocket to the side of a building.
Obi-Wan continued running, cutting down the troopers that surrounded him. While he was distracted, the gunship shot a rocket, sending the Jedi Master back. Obi-Wan was pinned on the ground. He closed his eyes, figuring it was the end for him, but they didn’t fire. A spear had gone through the glass, piercing the pilots heart, sending the gunship falling down to the abyss below.
Obi-Wan was shocked, and got up. The gunship was gone, and so was Commander Cody. He looked up to see the Prime Minister, nodding his head before stepping back into the shadows. Rather than say anything Obi-Wan ran towards the ship that was still on the platform where he killed Grievous.
Obi-Wan leads forward, finding himself in a home. He was confused, and dazed. He still had his lightsaber, but that didn’t explain what had happened.
“Oh good, you are awake” the man removes his hood, revealing former clone Commander Cody.
Obi-Wan stood up, ready to fight, but he noticed Cody didn’t have a blaster. He was more in shock.
Cody could only give a faint smile, as he stood up, “Don’t worry General I am not here to kill you, but I am sure you have alot of questions”
“I am just surprised you are here. I thought you were dead”
“Sorry to disappoint General, but I can promise you I am only here to help. I have defected from the Empire”
“Oh?” all Obi-Wan could say, as he pretended to defend himself.
“Its hard to explain, but I didn’t know what I was doing, it is said by the other clones our chips made us do those things, so I left, and removed mine, as you can see my scar” Cody showed him. Obi-Wan took note, and moved his hands away, “You said you defected from the Empire, but what about the other clones”
“Captain Rex made it out, but he vanished to start his own rebellion, and Clone Force 99 survived, but they are currently presumed dead. I been out here finding more of my brothers since”
“Is that why Quinlian Vos was here?”
“Aye, he promised me he would help me find more of my brothers in return we help him fight the Empire, but I haven’t seen him since he contact me”
Obi-Wan sighed, folding his arms, “Thats not possible. The Empire had taken Master Vos. I was sent to investigate”
Cody sighed, “Well the Empire is here, and its not safe, so what now?”
“I have to get back to Senator Organa. You should come with me”
Cody looked up, replaying Obi-Wan's words, never thinking this would happen, causing him to smile, “If thats what you want General, I will follow you again”
Obi-Wan smiled, embracing his friend once more before looking at each other, “Now we just need a way off this rock”
“What about your ship?”
“The Empire destroyed it, and Quinlinan’s as well”
“There is a way off. The village has transport. We could use that to get out of here”
Obi-Wan, with no choice, agreed. He, and Cody left his hut immediately.
The two went sneaking through the tall grass. They went towards a camp where the imperials were where the two needed the speeders to get to the village. Obi-Wan stepped forward, causing the stormtroopers to stand up, but before they could take their weapons, Cody shot them. The two then took two speeders to ride towards the village.
After arriving the two put their hoods back up. Obi-Wan used a mind trick on one of the guards to let them in. They looked around, and the two were not alone. The Empire was here, all over the place.
Obi-Wan looked at what was happening, but Cody interrupted his thoughts, “The Empire had come not too long ago, stripping these people of resources, and reducing them to this. A once beautiful world now in the grips of the Empire”
“We just need the transport, and get out of here”
The two continued making their way towards the transport, but stopped. Kenobi was confused, but Cody had pulled him into an alley. Before Obi-Wan could speak, he saw why they were hidden. A group of stormtroopers are walking down the village.
“Those look to be Jedi Hunters” Cody pointed out. He looked at Obi-Wan who only stared at his lightsaber, “You aren’t confident are you sir” Cody pointed out.
“I am just out of practice, but don’t worry my friend we will get out of here” Obi-Wan put his hand on his friend's shoulder before leaving.
The two left the alley, walking to the transport. There was a wave of crowns, the worst the Empire was scanning for ID. The two looked at each other. Once they waited for their turn to be up, Obi-Wan decided to go for a mind trick, “You will let us pass”
“I will let you pass”
“Out of practice huh” Cody gave Kenobi a jest. They went to the stand getting ready to purchase their ticket. The transport was taking them to Daiyu.
While the two were walking, Obi-Wanaccidentally knocked into someone that was carrying death sticks. He turned around to help the person up.
“Watch where you are going” the death stick dealer said.
“I am so sorry” Obi-Wan went down to help regardless of what it was, but the dealer pushed him out of the way. Cody interfered, pulling out a blaster, which brought the attention of the stormtroopers that were guarding the station. They marched over causing, Cody put his blaster away
“Whats going on here?” one of the troopers pointed their blaster.
“These men assaulted me” the dealer that was clearly out of it pointing the blame at the two cloaked men in front of him.
Obi-Wan looking at the transport had tried to take him, and Cody out of this situation, “I am sorry, but we have to go”
“Stop” one of the troopers ordered.
“Our rides there, we have to go” Obi-Wan insisted.
“What you need is to come with us” the trooper insisted, starting to grab Cody by the arm, but with instinct Obi-Wan had his lightsaber activated. The sapphire blade cut the arm of the stormtrooper, before turning to slice the other in the chest.
Obi-Wan quickly deactivated his lightsaber, bringing Cody along with him to the transport. They rushed inside, paying the pilot off for them to leave which he complied. Obi-Wan looks back at the window seeing more reinforcements coming to the scene. He looked at Cody, who looked at him back with an unease.
Darth Vader stood by the window of the Fortress Inquisitorius, his breathing echoing the hall. The door opened with the Grand Inquisitor, along with the Third Sister, and the Fifth Brother, they kneeled before the darklord. Vader had acknowledged them already sensing their presence with the force, “Grand Inquisitor what news do you bare?”
“My Lord we received news from one of the probe droids stationed on the planet where we detained Vos” he showed his Master the holocron of stormtroopers being attacked. The three Inquisitors could feel the Sith Lord's blood boil.
“Kenobi” the room started to shake, the glass cracking. Many in the room were panicked by Vaders anger, but then he stopped, “Where is he now?” the Sith Lord demanded.
“According to what I know Kenobi is on a transport with another college, they are going to Daiyu”
Vader didn’t say anything, instead he marched to the interrogation room where Quinlan Vos was being held. The Jedi stood broken, silent. Vader use the force to undo the restraints, releasing him, “Rise Inquisitor”
Quinlian had stood up, head looking up at Vader. His eyes revealing a color of red.
Chapter 6: Reunion
Chapter Text
Kenobi, and former clone commander Cody had been wandering the planet of Daiyu. The planet was a sketchy city with the conditions of it. The two had gotten off here not too long ago, now have to look for a ship to go to Alderaan. So far the place was a big city, but the Empire was not seen. The two decided to go to a restaurant to hide out. Obi-Wan gave the host credits to have them sit in the back, as they plan out what they need to do next. They waited for the waiter to give them their waters. After he leaves the two to look at each other before speaking.
“So now what General?” Cody asked.
Kenobi smirked, and had a sip of his drink, “Cody, you know you don’t have to call me that”
“Sorry sir, I guess its a habit” Cody said, as the two had chuckled.
Obi-Wan took out his credits, placing it on the table, “Doesn’t look like much, but perhaps for a small freighter, I just hope the Empire doesn’t come here”
“Don’t worry sir, as long as we leave, we will be safe”
Obi-Wan stroked his beard, leaning back in his seat. He looked towards the distance. There was a figure staring at them, but he couldn’t see who it was with the hood on. He tilted his head forward, but someone who he thought was watching them was not there.
“You alright General?” Cody asked.
Obi-Wan stood up, “Come on let's go, the sooner we leave the better.
The two walked out after placing credits on the table.
The two made their way to the shipyard where they were looking for freighters. They looked at prices, then Obi-Wan would look that they were short on credits. He turned to Cody before speaking, “We need more credits”
“I agreed”
The two looked behind them to see the massive casino. The two entered, looking around, bending, gambling, and others. They looked where to start. The area was filled with all types of species, some drunk, some high. Others get into fights after losing, causing security to kick them out. Obi-Wan, and Cody looked at them game sabacc. The two nodded at each other, and stepped in. Both of them agreed to play the game with the scoundrels who had been playing for ours. Kenobi placed his bets, giving some credits to Cody. The clone learned by playing with his brothers, giving him an edge while Obi-Wan was able to predict his opponents move, helping them. The scoundrel who was ahead had matched Cody, but Obi-Wan placed a double, giving them more credits. The dealer got angry, and demanded they play again. This time it was just him, and Obi-Wan. The crolute placed his cards, matching Obi-Wans. The two played at it for several minutes leading into an hour. Kenobi had kept his composure, relaxing, and having a drink when the crolute he was playing against had been fuming, getting more impatient. WHen he thought he won, Obi-Wan placed another card that outsmarted him, causing the brute to flip the table before leaving. Both Obi-Wan, and cody watched before they went to a table with the credits that they won.
“Looks like we have enough” Cody pointed out.
Obi-Wan wanted to respond, but he noticed the same man hidden like in the cantina. Without another word, he stood up with Cody following after he took the credits.
The man at the bar sipped his drink, pretending to look away, but he was already cornered by Obi-Wan, and Cody. Both of them were already staring down at him looking like they had questions for him which they did.
“Obi-Wan was the one who spoke the first words, “Who are you, why are you keep following me”
The man buried under a hood stood up, but paused when Cody had a gun pulled on his stomach.
“I wouldn’t do that if I was you”
The man smirked, removing his hood, “Is that a way to greet your old friend Kenobi?” Quinlian Vos spoke looking at him with his brown eyes.
“Quinlian!” Obi-Wan said cheerfully. He embraced his friend tightly, relieved he was alright. He then looked at him, “I was sent to find you, I heard you had disappeared. How did you get away from the Empire?”
Quinlian looked away, almost like he looked guilty. Obi-Wan asked him what was wrong, but he instead spoke without looking at him in the eyes,“Its a long story my friend, one that could use a drink”
Obi-Wan shifted uncomfortably, “I don’t know, we are trying to get away from the Empire”
“Oh come on Obi-Wan I haven’t even seen them. My shuttle crashed, that was it. Now let me buy you a drink. After that, then we could find a way off this rock”
Obi-Wan sighed, knowing he couldn’t get out of this. He looked at Cody who nodded at him. The clone was going to purchase a ship while the two had a chat. The two were reminiscing their childhood days together, sharing stories, and laughing with each other. They then shifted to what they had been doing for the last ten years, shifting the mood in the room. Obi-Wan tried to hide as much information for himself as possible, not wanting to reveal his mission. Quinlian just bragged to him how he just kept avoiding the Empire, causing the two to lay out a chuckle.
Obi-Wan was just happy to see an old friend again. He did feel a dark aura, but Kenobi knew his friend was always a diversive Jedi.
“So Obi-Wan you have been silent, where have you been for the last ten years? I looked all over” the long haired Jedi continue to ask his friend about that”
“I just went into hiding. I already told Bail I needed to lay low, so he helped me find a planet”
“Which planet?” Vos continued to ask.
Obi-Wan thought about it, then spoke, “Jakku”
Quinlian looked at him, but shrugged his shoulders, “Sounds like a boring planet”
Cody contacted Obi-Wan through his communication device, “General found a freighter. Its perfect for us, but we have a problem”
“What is it Cody?”
“The Empire is here”
Obi-Wan looked back and opened his mouth, leaning forward. His eyes reached Quinlian before his device, “Alright, Quinlian, and I are on our way, we will take off imminently” he shifted his head towards his old friend, “The Empire is here, we need to leave now”
Vos was silent, Obi-Wan waited for him to speak, but he didn’t say a word, instead followed Kenobi out. The two went down the stairs walking out. The Empire had destroyers above the sky, but he hasn’t seen any troopers on the ground yet. Obi-Wan picked up his communicator to contact Cody, but it was staticy. A voice reached out through the other side, but it didn’t sound good.
“General Kenobi the Empire is here. I am surrounded” the static had cut off the transmission. Obi-Wan would call out his name twice before walking. The two former Jedi were walking through the streets. The people were getting pushed by, as more Imperials marched through the streets led by the Grand Inquisitor who had ordered the streets cleaned until he found the Jedi. Obi-Wan knew it was him, the pau’an was talking about. He looked at Quinlian who nodded back, as the two leaped from corner to corner, making sure to avoid contact with anyone.
“We should split up to cover more ground, so we could find a way out” Obi-Wan suggested, but Quinlian shook his head, “No, its to dangerous, we stick together”
Obi-Wan understood, and agreed to stay together. The hide from the shadows of the alley ways.
They stopped when they saw the flames of the transports, it looked like the Empire had the station massacred. All the vehicles looked like they were in flames. Obi-Wan had searched for Cody, but he had not seen his friend. The two turned to see stormtroopers flank them with their blasters. Obi-Wan looked at Quinlian who didn’t even move. His face twitched before looking back at the troopers, who had removed his blaster, shooting at one clone before tackling the other. The stormtrooper behind him was about to shoot before Quinlian grabbed the blaster hitting him in the face. The two former Jedi fought with hand to hand combat until all the troopers were down. One stormtrooper slowly stood up, trying to take his blaster, and shoot Obi-Wan, but that is when Vos removed hand, then pierced the blade through his chest.
Obi-Wan turned around to thank his friend, but his mouth dropped. He saw the red crimson blade clowning from Quinlian’s saber.
“Don’t be surprised Obi-Wan”
“Quinlian, you are with the Empire?”
“What can I say? They showed me the right way. There is no fighting the Empire, only embarrassing it”
Obi-Wan took a deep breath, “Not you to Quinlian. You can resist, I know you can, you have done it before”
“And look where that left us. I could have beaten Count Dooku, save the woman I loved”
“Ventress knew what she was doing, she wouldn’t want this”
Quinlian only got angrier, “She is dead, she can’t want anything”
Obi-Wan quickly took his lightsaber in defense, “Please Quinlian don’t make me do this” he pleaded.
Vos only smirked, as he flexed his lightsaber, “Don’t worry, you won’t be doing anything. I am assigned to bring you back to the Empire, and that is what I am going to do”
Obi-Wan hesitated, but activated his lightsaber. The two circled each other before Obi-Wan dashed to him, trying to throw a strike. Quinlian stepped out of the way before bringing his own lightsaber down. Obi-Wan had perryed the attack before taking a large step back. Vos continued to swing aggressively while Obi-Wan tried to block. Not being able to use a lightsaber all these years had affected the way he fought. Kenobi blocked the next strike, then got kicked back.
He tried to get up, but the red blade had pointed towards his face.
“Not another step old friend” Quinlian urged him to give up.
Obi-Wan looked at his situation, he felt trapped, but he could sense something more, the conflict, “Quinlian I could sense the conflict, break through”
Quinlian stood silent, his eyes twitching. His hand was already shaking the moment he knocked Kenobi down. Before he could do anything else, a person jumped down the balcone, her cape blowing through the air. Reva looked on with a face of pride, then she shifted her gaze towards Kenobi with disgust. She took out her lightsaber, and ignited the crimson blade.
“Look at you, Obi-Wan, pathetic” she told him, but Kenobi was confused. This woman acted like she knew him. Before she could come in any close, Quinlian blocked her way, “I told the Grand Inquisitor I was going to bring him in”
“Move Vos” she warned him”
“You move Reva” he told her with a snarky tone. Looking at Obi-Wan had only fueled her anger. Her grip on her lightsaber tightened. Obi-Wan stayed on the ground in helplessness.
Vos had blocked Reva’s strike on time, as she was about to bring down the blade at Obi-Wan. Quinlan used his lightsaber to push back, causing a fight to break. Reva swung at him with aggressive varsity.
Obi-Wan took this opportunity to run. He went across the street. He looked for a place to go far, far as he could from the empire.
“Stop right there!” a stormtrooper shouted.
Obi-Wan stood still, not realizing his lightsaber was in his hand. Before the trooper could, he was hit on the back of the head.
“Sir” Cody said, standing tall.
“Cody, what happened?”
“I was on my way to a freighter, then the Empire suddenly attacked, I tried to get away soon as possible to find you. Where’s General Vos?”
Kenobi sighed, “Cody, Quinlan is working for the Empire. I will explain, but we need to leave”
Reva, and Quinlan continued fighting. Quinlan had more experience, and kept fighting. With quickness while Reva dodged, strikes, and blocked her attacks. She roared in anger, as she finally pushed back, deciding to ignite the other end of her lightsaber. She got ready to charge in an offensive stance while Vos got ready to defend himself.
“What is going on here “ the Grand Inquisitor stepped in, clearly not happy
“She tried to kill Obi-Wan, now he is gone” Quinlan told him.
The pau’ans red eyes turned towards the Third Sister, “We had been given orders not to kill Kenobi, what were you thinking?”
“I was thinking if I removed his legs, then he wouldn't escape. Our friend hear clearly has a soft spot for his old friend”
Quinlan looked like he was going to say something, but the Grand Inquisitor stepped in between, “Enough, I will handle Kenobi, you two back to the ship”
Obi-Wan, and Cody were both on the run. Stormtroopers were everywhere on the streets, tearing down local business in search of the Jedi. Obi-Wan went in a back alley way with Cody, the two looked at a dead end. When they stepped out a figure stood from the shadow, causing Cody to raise his weapon, Obi-Wan just held his lightsaber. To their surprise it wasn’t anyone from the Empire, it was just a a man a few years younger then him in rags. His brown eyes stared at them, with his hands in the air, “Don’t shoot, I am not with the Empire”
“Who are you?” Obi-Wan demanded.
“My name is Haja, I can get you out of here. I have friends that can take you in, you just need to take the transit, and my friends will find you from there”
Both Obi-Wan, and Cody stared at each other knowing they didn’t have a choice. Obi-Wan turned to him, and nodded. Haja took then to where they needed to go, all thre putting on their hoods to disguise themselves.
“So Haja, why are you helping us?” Obi-Wan asked him.
Haja sighed, “The Jedi used to stand for something. When I found out the Empire was here, I knew they had to be looking for a Jedi. You aren’t the first, we helped many with force sensitivity to disappear, we can do the same for you”
“We appreciate it” Kenobi nodded. They continued following Haja until they got to the upper levels of the city where they went to an abandoned transport.
Haja was already working on opening it. Took some time, but the door finally opened. He turned to them, “Alright let’s go”
Before either of them entered, the three heard a thud of footsteps.
“It’s the Empire” Obi-Wan said, feeling it in the force. Before anyone could prepare to fight, Haja put his hand up to stop them, “I will hold them off. Just follow the directions installed in the transports mainframe, and it will take you right there”
“You will die” Cody pointed out.
“Then so be it. The Empire had already taken my family from me once. If I can safe two people, then it’s worth it”
Both Obi-Wan, and Cody looked at each other. Obi-Wan with no choice understood, “Thank you Haja, I will never forget this. My the force be with you” he then got into the transport, closing the door.
Haja just looked back, and smiled at the two before walking away. He approached the Grand Inquisitor with his blaster in hand. The Stormtroopers behind the pau’an raised their blasters.
“There is a Jedi in the area, move if you don’t want to die” Grand Inquesitor told him, removing his lightsaber.
Haja hooked his head, “Sorry, can’t let you do that”
The Grand Inquisitor slowly walked to him with a grin, “So you are with the Jedi?”
“I am” Haja said proudly, but a blade pierced his heart.
“Then you will die like them” Grand Inquisitor told him before pulling out his lightsaber. He, and his men had gotten to the transport only to see it take off. Stormtroopers tried to shoot, but they were ordered to halt. The Grand Inquisitor checked the controls mainframe to see where they were going, leaving a sinister grin on his face.
Chapter 7: The Path
Chapter Text
The Empire had completely taken over the city of Daiyu. Stormtroopers were all over, tearing everything apart, having civilians on the planet to line up as a form of integration. Those that had protested were taken away.
The Inquisitors stood around for the Grand Inquisitor, waiting for orders. Both stared at each other with disgust, and held their lightsabers in their hands ready to fight. Each of them had blamed the other for Kenobi escaping them. The Grand Inquisitor came back before they had a chance to take action, or doing anything that would make the situation worst for the Empire,
The Grand Inquisitor looked at both of them with disgust. He had folded his arms in disappointed, his red eyes glaring at them with disdain towards the fallen Jedi, “Well lucky for us, we know where Kenobi is going, but you two are to remain behind until I return”
“What!” Reva said furiously while Quinlan was not happy, but he kept it together.
Grand Inquisitor just stared at her before speaking, “That's right, Third Sister, both of you had Kenobi, and let him go to settle your own grievances I will be leading the charge while you two wait here for me, is that understood” both Inquisitors nodded, watching, as their superior left to go hunt down the Jedi.
Vos looks at Reva with annoyance, “Tell me why do you want Kenobi so badly?”
Reva looked away without a word before speaking coldy, “Revenge” it was all she could say, as she walked away. Quinlan didn’t say anything, he only looked up into the sky, feeling his eyes turn back to its original color. He also had decided to go his separate ways, choosing not to listen to the Grand Inquisitor.
Obi-Wan, and Cody had lost track of how long they were walking in the heat. The two had left the transport, stepping into the sands of the planet, walking around until they found someone. They could have used Haja, but he had sacrificed himself so they could escape. The directions they followed was in Cody’s palm, the two of them continued walking until they found where they were going. After that the two had planned to go back to meet with Senator Organa to plan their next move. They had to tell him about Vos. After that then the three can figure out what the next step is that they are supposed to take.
Both Obi-Wan, and Cody felt like going circles, but there map supposedly had them on the right path. As for the area around them, there wasn’t any sign of life nearby, but the two kept their hoods up to not draw attention. The Empire was most likely on its way towards them, which means the two would have to hurry up, but they don’t have a name or who they are looking for.
Cody had used the scanners placed on his orange, and white helmet to survey the distances.
There was something ahead, Cody looked at the map, and saw it was the right direction. The two hurried with caution, and got there. Once they marched up the hill, and down towards the destination, the two were almost in shock. Cody looked at the map, and it was towards an Imperial base. This confused the two, Cody looked at Kenobi who was also surprised. It made them wonder if this was a trap, but didn’t make sense because if it was, then the Empire would have detained them already. It was too late to turn back, as the Stormtroopers approached them.
Cody removed his helmet, placing it to his side, hurried in his cloak. He looked at Obi-Wan who nodded in approval.
“Hold, what you two doing out here”
Obi-Wan, being none for his negotiation skills had stepped forward, “I am sorry, but my friend, and I are coming a long way, can you please point us to the right direction?”
The two troopers looked at each other before looking back at Kenobi, “We need some identification”
Cody stood still, trying to reach for his blaster slowly, but an Imperial Officer had come up.
“Its alright, they are just wanderers. I can take them where they need to go” the two troopers looked at each other, then stepped aside. The Imperial Officer was a woman, brown eyes, tan skin. She motioned for them to follow her. With no choice, both Obi-Wan, and Cody followed along.
Once the two reached the gate, the officer got on a transport with troopers on board, making it awkward for the former Jedi, and Commander. The StormTroopers looked at them strangely on the ride there. After getting enough miles the transport had stopped in the middle of nowhere. The Stormtroopers looked at each other straggly. Their helmets looked at the officer, who had ordered them to step out, which the troopers did, lining up like a statue. She had ordered Obi-Wan, and Cody to stay where they were. The pilot also followed along.
Once the troopers, and the pilot stood next to each other, the Imperial Officer drew her blaster, shooting the five of them.
The officer had removed her hat, undoing her dark hair. She looked at the two, who were shocked, “My name is Tala, and I am with the Path. I could tell you two aren’t from around here?”
Obi-Wan removed his hood, “Thats right, Haja sent us”
“Why isn’t he with you?” she pointed her blaster at them, causing Obi-Wan, and Cody to raise their hands in the air.
Obi-Wan continued speaking, “I am sorry, but Haja sacrifice himself, so we can escape”
Tala flexed her blaster, but once she saw Kenobi’s lightsaber, she lowered her blaster, “You are a Jedi?”
“That is right, I am Obi-Wan Kenboi, this is my friend Cody, we need to get out of here, Haja said you could do that?”
Tala nodded her head, going to pilot their transport to the village.
It was a silent ride for several minutes. Tala was just focusing on piliting the vehicle.
Obi-Wan decided to speak, “I hear that you take in Jedi?”
Tala shook her head, “We are called the Path, we help all force sensitives disappear from the Empire, that is what the Hidden Path is. The question is why is a clone with you? Didn’t they kill the Jedi?”
“My brothers, and I had inhibitor chips placed in our heads. It made us give those orders. I had mine removed, not long after I defected from the Empire”
Tala didn’t say anything. The vehicle had already stopped a mile away from the village. She removed her Imperial jacket, only having her regular shirt on. The three walked to the village in silence, not wanting to draw attention. They entered, paying the gatekeeper credits before passing by. The village looked the same as Tatooine. It didn’t look great, every building they passed looked rundown. They made a right, going into a small hut. There was a bald man with tattoos on his arms up to his right side of his face. He was smoking something, but put it out once Tala approached him, “Leave no man behind” she told him, the man guarding the door stepped aside. This allowed Tala to take the two in.
The inside of the hideout was dark. Blue lights lit up the room. On the ground were families, and children. Obi-Wan could feel force sensitivity in them of an average youngling. These people were clearly terrified of the Empire.
“Look who finally showed up” a voice came from behind. It was a young human man in his twenties, his hair was shaggy, and mark lines across his cheeks.
Obi-Wan tilted his head, “I am sorry, but who are you?”
“I am Narr, I was once a Jedi like you Master Kenobi. That was until my men betrayed me, and my Master” the young man glared at Cody, regonzing his face, “I have been here since, helping force sensitives leave, where have you been?”
“I was also hiding” Obi-Wan pointed out.
“I see with a clone” Narr folded his arms.
“We were all manipulated” Obi-Wan told him, but the young Jedi turned his back.
“Well just keep him away from these children” Narr said before walking away.
“You must forgive him, he is protective of these children” another voice came from behind. This man was wider, had a beard covering his face, “I am Kawlan Roken, I am the leader of this group” stretching a hand.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi, this is Cody” both of them shaking Kawlans hand.
“Glad to meet both of you, welcome to the Path. Tala said, you guys needed help?”
Obi-Wan nodded his head, “Thats right, we have to go to Alderaan”
“Alright no problem, by dawn we will have the ship ready. We had plan to bring the refugees off here, but we can drop you off after”
Obi-Wan gave a slight bow, “We appreciate it. Has many Jedi came here?”
“Just a handful. A man dressed like a cowboy, didn’t give us a name. A young man the same age as Narr, but has red hair. Aside from that, not many. Narr had agreed to stay, wanting to help protect us incase the Empire did come”
“That is understandable, they are already here, but hopefully won’t come to this side of the planet”
The two kept walking past the main room. The hallway was a hidden cave. The space was wider then it had seemed from the outside. One end had a training ground where men were practicing firearms to prepare incase of an attack. Another was a medical room for treatment.
Obi-Wan was amazed to see a wall filled with markings of Jedi symbols. There were more survivors then he had expected, but each had left their own symbol. Narr came right next to him.
“I know, many Jedi died, but there were also more that survived. Everyone wants to hide rather then fight, I don’t get it”
Obi-Wan could feel the weight of Order 66, “Narr, its not that anyone wants to fight the Empire, but they know that they are just few numbers compared to the large army”
Narr sighed, his brown eyes, starting at the wall, “I know, sometimes it just seems hopeless”
Obi-Wan patted his shoulder. He knew what it was like to feel helpless, its how he felt all these years, now he feels like he could barely fight. Seeing the galaxy struggle makes him want to help. He spoke to his fellow Jedi, “Narr, I would like to meditate to realign myself with the force if you could kindly show me a spot to sit?”
“What's wrong with your connection to the force?”
“Nothing really, I just have barely tapped into it”
Narr didn’t say anything, he just motioned for Kenobi to follow him. It was an isolated spot, small, but quite enough to meditate, “Here should do”
Obi-Wan thanked him, getting on the rock, crossing his legs, and closing his eyes to think about everything that has happened up until now. Narr left after staring at Kenobi while Cody went to help out somewhere else, this left Obi-Wan concentrated, focusing on the force. Around him.
Chapter 8: Old Friends Clash
Chapter Text
Quinlan Vos had snuck around the landscape undetected, ignoring the Grand Inquisitor's wishes. He was reaching the village. Once he was there, Quinlan used his upper body strength to climb up the gate, hanging up the edge above. He could see the Grand Inquisitor marching through the village with his Stormtroopers right behind him, shouting to find the fugitives. Each of the troopers were moving around, tearing the place apart in order to look for Kenobi. Protests would be gunned down on the spot if they had spoken out. The rest of those that lived here stayed silent, letting the raid on their village happen, some going inside with fear.
Quinlan just observed carefully, his emotions still eating away at him. He felt conflicted. Obi-Wan was his friend, and yet he is hunting him for no reason. The darkside was filling his head too much with dark emotion. He would capture Kenobi, but what would happen after, he wasn’t sure himself.
Quinlan hopped back to the lower ground, walking through the grassy plains distances away from the main village, where he closed his eyes to reach with the force. He could feel Obi-Wans presence within the force, but the Empire was in his way, so he waited patient, hopping to drag his old friend out of hiding where they could face off.
Obi-Wan had opened his mind after getting out of meditation, he could hear the screams echoing from inside. He got up to meet with everyone else to see what was going on.
Tala was already gathering people inside the ship when this had all been happening. He dashed towards the main entrance. Kawlan was already looking out the window. With him was Cody, and Narr, making sure everyone was being evancurated, preparing to fight in case they had to.
Obi-Wan walked in, turning their attention towards him, “What is going on?” he asked.
“The Empire is here” Cody told him.
“What now?” Obi-Wan asks.
“We have to leave” Kawlan declared.
Obi-Wan looked at the window. Homes were being attacked, people physically forced out of their homes, getting hit with blaster fires, the Grand Inquisitor had allowed this to happen. It was only a matter of time until they made their way towards here. He looked towards Kawlan, “Get out of here, I will drive them off”
“What” the three said, wanting to oppose Kenobis idea.
“Thats right, I will hold them off, get everyone else out of here, go to Alderaan, go to Senator Organa, he will know what to do”
“If you do this Master Kenobi, then there is no coming back. The Empire will either capture, or kill you” Narr warned him.
Obi-Wan shook his head, “I have ran long enough, its time I do something. Narr, you asked me why the Jedi are hiding, well now is the time to strike. May the force be with you” he told the young Jedi before taking off”
“Be well Master, see you soon” Narr whispered.
Obi-Wan came out the back per instruction by Kawlan. He took cover, as Imperials marched. The force suddenly bid him visibly, as Obi-Wan felt something. He could feel Quinlan Vos miles away. He put his hood up, using the force to push himself toward, so the others wouldn’t get caught. He hiding in corners, trying to not get caught. He sprinted forward to the stormtrooper in front of him, hitting the trooper in the head with a blaster. Kenobi then continued to run towards. His arms, and legs started to move up the ladder towards the water tower. He climbed up, activating his lightsaber when he encountered more stormtroopers. He impailed the trooper in front of him with his lightsaber, then cut the other one’s blaster in half before slicing him in the chest with the sapphire blade.
Obi-Wan climbed to the ledge before jumping, and using the force to help his landing.
An explosion came up behind the former Jedi. One of the buildings was on fire. Obi-Wan could feel it on the force, everyone was in trouble. He wanted to turn, but an ignition of the lightsaber behind him. Obi-Wan turned around, taking a slight deep breath before moving his head in acknowledgment, “Quinlan” he said removing his hood.
“Surrender Kenobi, there is no fighting the Empire” Vos states, circling his once Jedi friend.
“Quinlan listen to me, I don’t know what happened, but you don’t need to do this. Don’t give in to your darkness, you fought it once, you can do it again” Obi-Wan already holding his lightsaber in his hand.
“Perhaps this is the only way, then maybe I would be strong enough. The woman I loved died because I was weak. My Padawan died because I wasn’t there to protect her, well nowI am stronger than before”
Obi-Wan sighed, igniting his lightsaber in both hands, “I am sorry old friend, but I can’t let you go”
Vos gave a sinister grin, “Then I will take you by force” he lunged at him, but Kenobi blocked his face with his weapon. Vos’s attacks felt heavy to Kenobi, but Obi-Wan pushed him back, going into his form three style. Vos tried to aim for his side, but Obi-Wan blocked before rolling over, and going on the defensive again. He could feel the small light in his friend, Looking at his red eyes, there was pain. Kenobi tried to reach him, but Vos wasn’t having it. Quinlan kicked Obi-Wan back, but he was already kicked back by Kenobis feet. Obi-Wan ignited his lightsaber again, clashing with the crimson lightsaber.
Obi-Wan was in a tight spot, he didn’t want to kill his friend, he wanted to help him, but there was no talking him out of it. If Quinlan had captured or killed him, then Luke would be found next, being taken away from his family, and trained to be an agent of evil. Leia wouldn’t have anyone to guide her, and the galaxy would lose their last up, lists of fears that plagued Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan aggressively pushed back, tapping more into his old abilities. A slice nearly took Quinlans head off, but only left a scar across the cheek. Vos grunted, and swung at Kenobi with aggression. Obi-Wan hopped over, trying to stop his attacks. The two had locked blades, but it was clear Vos had the upper hand. Obi-Wan already found himself getting pushed back. He had spared with Vos many times when they were still young, and Quinlan always gained the upper hand. Even now he is a lot stronger then when he was a boy.
Obi-Wan pushed forward, deactivating his lightsaber, and using the bottom of the hilt to hit Quinlan in the head, causing the fallen Jedi to stumble back. Obi-Wan then pushed him back with the force, causing him to fall on his back. Before Quinlan can ignite his lightsaber again, the weapon had landed in Obi-Wan's free hand. Both blades has ignited, aiming at Quinlan’s neck. Quinlan looked in surprise, but his face did not falter. His red eyes still glared at Kenobi with determination.
Obi-Wan was determined to finish it, but he looks at his former friend, and deactivates the lightsabers, “No, you are my friend, and I am sorry I couldn’t be there for you, but it is not to late”
Vos’s face just dropped , looking at Obi-Wans eyes. Before words could be spoken, a sound was heard. Obi-Wan looked at his side to find a hole through it. He looked back to see a stormtrooper shot at him, causing the former Jedi to fall.
Quinlan looked at his former friend's body. Shocked, as he felt the red in his eyes vanished.
